* Mysterious cult figure, Leonel Castillo is the best-kept secret the Argentine electronic music scene has brought forward so far. An icon and at the same time virtually unknown, Leonel is one of the most prominent Latin American talents. A stylistic chameleon and an ultra talented jack of all trades, he is hard to pinpoint, and even harder to categorize. Surfacing wherever it takes the vanguard talent, he's been releasing music as Leonel Castillo and under various monikers - Arnold Slab, Boeing or Unknown Artista are some of his aliases - on labels as diverse as the legendary Estatus Discos, or Telegraph, Ilian Tape, Airdrop, Greener, Sushitech and of course on his own imprint, Groovear.

* Constantly reinventing himself, Leonel Castillo manages to present his musical talent in an even more refined context every time one of his sought-after releases comes out, it ´s impossible to predict his next steps. From remixing rock and pop giants such as Miranda! and the Babasonicos, to getting commissioned to remix Brandt Brauer Frick on !K7 Records and JT Donaldson on Classic, touring the States, to djing at underground club nights in his local 'barrio' while finishing off his new releases, the Argentine artist has neither limits nor criteria which makes him so uttermost interesting and universal. Ranging from deep dub sounds to futuristic funk reminiscent of the earliest days, his music radiates acid and old school house of the boogiesque kind, paired with rock-bottom grooves which resonate the ancient spirit of early day techno while remaining absolutely timeless.

* Called into existence in 2005 by Leonel Castillo, Groovear was conceived as an outlet for his countless monikers and projects. Groovear was initally designed as a netlabel in order to share the immense amounts of music produced by Leonel. The idea of endless sharing and downloading is something intrinsically connected to Argentinean history. No traditional record labels were able to operate after the introduction of the compact disc in the '80s. Leonel Castillo put out a few releases between '05 and '07 under his different monikers - Boeing, Dubjack or Unknown Artista. 5 years later, the label has finally prepared its vinyl moment, presenting all aspects and dimensions of Castillo's ideas.
The first vinyl editions of his own Groovear label will cut those facts into deep wax - starting with "1974" and "Corriendo Al Cometa", two original unreleased numbers, on which Leonel develops his deep, hypnotic, techier and sometimes dubby sound.

Man Band delivers its first Various release with a stunning downtempo opener by the enigmatic DJ Sacom and an ever mind-bending trip by Forest Drive West, with his second hypnotic remix of Elise. More newcomers on the flip include Bristol based Patrick Flint with a celestial workout of swirling percussions, and a massive, dub inspired cut by Paris local figure HANAH.

Amsterdam label Taped Artifact has lined up an EP from Merv aka Brian Oldenborg and Jan Christiansen. After the Re-Melted reissue on Styrax in 2015, this is the pair's third new EP in three years since coming back after first making music back in the mid nineties. Their warm dub and techno style is still very much fresh and arresting. Blueprint opens the EP with eight enthralling minutes of percolating drums and shuffling hi hats. Frosty yet warm, it's a cavernous affair with a hypnotic riffs sucking you in over and over. Shine is more upright techno, but the rock solid kicks are still draped with rippling, static coated chords that ripple out in all directions. Rotundum closes things out with synth waves gently breaking over hunched drums that build the pressure. It's tense and engaging while remaining thoroughly atmospheric.

ZamZam 72 comes from one of our favorite producers for the last few years, the elusive Andy Mac. Known in particular for his “Diving Bird” series, a buy-on-sight trilogy of 12”s on Bristol’s Idle Hands, the idiosyncratic producer also has releases on No Corner (in collaboration with Ossia), and the seminal Punch Drunk label. His unique style of chopped, techy, warm, pastoralist dubwise had us from the first, and the tunes he sent us flew through our A&R gauntlet with ease. His are records we return to again and again, revealing more subtlety with each listen, free from genre or tempo constraints.

“Dawner,” the first of two transmissions from Lands End, Cornwall, is a perfect encapsulation of the Andy Mac sound: melancholy yet uplifting, rooted in techno-steppers yet rough-hewn and organic, breezy yet piercingly introspective. Led by a staccato kick and insistent metallic snare, featuring a bubbling Hammond organ lead by Richard Blackbarrow of cult UK Rough Trade band “Bob,” this one shimmers with summer warmth, lens-flare refracting saturated side-light, made for dusk sessions and sunrise sets, preferably out of doors, far from any city.

Layered with field recordings of streams and sea, “Tawny Grammar” is an altogether deeper affair, a dark, hallucinatory journey into the power of repetition in a 140-ish style. Shaker, kick, and hi hat lay the foundation for a looping and loping Binghi drum and guitar chop that begin their journey hacking through a dense undergrowth of sound, only to find themselves ensnared in a web of backwards delays and psychotropic effects that suspend the unwary in a strange tension between minimal and claustrophobic… the dance’s dark beating heart.

Blankstairs is pleased to announce the imminent release of 'Pathfinder', the latest record from Washington State resident Archivist. 'Pathfinder' is Archivist's second release on Blankstairs, following 2015's 'Migration', which Impose Magazine celebrated as offering listeners "the possibility of transcendence." Archivist's new record is no different, featuring three original deep techno tracks along with a remix by The Bunker New York resident Eric Cloutier. With 'Pathfinder', Archivist shows himself to be one of the West Coast's most intense and interesting techno producers.

Peverelist does Peverelist on his 3rd album of Bristolian bass techno prisms, Tessellations, his first for the Livity Sound label, forming a typically stripped, acute treatise on the flux of dub, techno, D&B and ambient electronics that make up his soundsystem DNA.

Rooted in the '90s but curved and toned for 2017, Pev's sound is economically functional but not without a crucial sliver of emotive, sensual/textural pressure that bleeds thru in each cut. It's hardly hands-in-the-air material, yet his slow-burning vibes are arguably more satisfying and subtly impressive in the immediacy of the dance and for the long run.

Across a neatly plotted 48 minutes he systematically investigates and consolidates all stripes of the Peverelist sound in a way that builds on the experiments of 12000 Seconds (2014) whilst reprising and refining the heft of Jarvik Mindstate (2009).

The roiling modular tones of opener Burning Seas offers a rare, beat-less iteration of his sound before the session properly gets under way, vacillating the pressure between Under Clearing Skies dense electro-bass pulses and strobing dub chords, and the wide open lushness of Still Early, then twisting into the latinate shimmy of Sheer Chance Matters and the spiralling trills of Wireframes, which sounds almost like Plastikman meets Unique 3.

Further Inland brings a lot of originality and feeling with a misty-eyed mesh of airy Detroit/Berlin arpeggios and serpentine house swang, cooling down into the tribalism patterns of Brinks and Limits and closing on another rare, beat-less vision, Plateau from which to survey his rolling topography and then dive back in again.

Good stuff.

Next up for Rhythm Section's club focused sub-label - 'International Black' 004 is here and it is bringing the heat - this time from Tennessee, USA. Mister Saturday Night and CGI affiliate Alex Falk delivers a 4 track EP made with one thing in mind - the dancefloor. Taking influence from the likes Chevel, Levon, Redshape and Phase; Alex Falk achieves a singular vision merging American and European styles of Techno.

Opening with UPP, an effortless techno groove with a tight rolling bass line, classic lead stabs that pulsate, twist and turn as the heavy kick punishes the subs. BETA comes in next with a serious low end bounce - a distorted bass bump pushes the system to the max before being followed up by lower sub all swinging around a fat house kick and tight percussion - another club stomper for the serious rigs only.

The B side is a proper dub techno workout. Beginning with DAB a focused club tool whereupon sharp stabs progress and modulate throughout the track as tight kicks and hats hold down the groove. Its a serious wristbreaker that will cut through any mix. Closing the EP is GATES13, a more downtempo affair. Atmospheric chord stabs dub upon an 808 kick, a must for the warm up or warm down.

ZamZam 71 is the welcome return of D-Operation Drop, the multi-man crew from Cesena, Italy with a well-earned rep that continues to grow. Everything they touch becomes a bona fide killer, from traditional steppers to 140 abstractions, to full on clash material. Last year alone saw powerful releases on Scrub A Dub, Lion Charge, Green King Cuts, and Subaltern. Their second chapter on ZamZam marks yet another high point, an absolutely storming release that won’t leave any box it makes it into.

The reverb drenched melody that opens “Bronco” throws open the gate for a brutalist kick-snare riddim with one single purpose - to absolutely crush the dance. A throbbing two note sub and swinging chains sweep aside any and all challengers, leaving pure devastation in their wake. Mesmerizing in its simplicity and absolutely devasting in its efficiency, this weapon has been deployed on dubplate from the likes of J:Kenzo & The Bug - now the beast is released to wreak havoc on Sounds far & wide.

“Coldset” is the healing salve after the bruising of the A side, equally captivating and functional in the dance, swaggering at a cooler temperature with metallic rockers hi hats in the drivers’ seat and ethereal pads hovering above another signature D-Op Drop 140 scorcher. Reminding us of the roots of this music, “Dubwise” is the refrain that echoes and trail-tangles deep down the side chain into lusciously distorted sheets of sound that will have hands in the air for multiple rewinds.

ZamZam 70 is our first team-up with the man of mystery known as Marcus Anbessa. An enigmatic figure whose identity must remain secret for the time being, his infrequent releases on labels such as Lion Charge, Tribe 12, and The Most High (as “Unknown Artist”) are eagerly awaited by those who know, charting an uncompromising vision down a path untrod by the weakheart or the follow-fashion. We love music that builds its own sound world with only passing reference to familiar genres or signposts, music that believes in itself utterly - for this reason we feel genuinely blessed to present these two sides.

“March of The Falasha” is pure roots music that, firmly planted in the soil of dub and sound system, reaches back even further into the mists of time through technological means. Downbeat steppers is the idiom, pure heartbeat is the pulse. Like an old soul young in years but full of wisdom, a distorted flute melody wanders ahead through the undergrowth of bass, light filtering through the ancient canopy above in the form of swung percussion and flickering echoes overlapping and intertwining like vines and creepers weaving on temple walls. Ancient-to-the-future.

“Creator” strikes a different yet equally dread chord, 140-ish post-apocalyptic Rasta business focused squarely on bass and space, hard, insistent drums and infinite echo trails flinging from the snares and percussion, creating hypnotic tracers like sparks swirling heavenward from a well-tended fire in blackest night.

Imagine African Headcharge on Jah Tubbys, or a rootsman groundation resuscitating ancient machines in the crumbling ruins of a near-future world and you begin to see what Marcus Anbessa brings. This music reminds us that nature herself will some day claim Babylon and grind it to dust, regardless of our efforts to save it or hasten its fall.

This is the first release of ODDiscos, the newborn label representing Sao Paulos' infamous ODD event series! The various arists release showcases the who is who of the Brazilian electronic music scene.

After bursting on to the scene in 2017 with the dub techno stomper ‘Zulu Blues’ on Navy Cut records, Melbourne based producers Pugilist and Mystik collaborate once again, this time around with 3 tracks on Modern Hypnosis.

The A side ‘Sabu’; a unique blend of polyrhythmic Latin inspired percussion and chanting, complemented with a rolling bass line and dreamy synthesised chord progression; is a genre blending trip, sitting at 135bpm, capable of taking a set in many directions.

On the flip side, two sophistically crafted Dub-Step pieces. 'Misty in Roots’, taken from the vaults after hypnotising dances in Melbourne on dub plate for the last 3 years. Minimal, meditative, eyes down music.

'2 Steps Backwards’ (available vinyl only) is an energetic 140bpm piece. Nostalgic roots inspired 'Dub-step of old’ is infused with creative oscillating synthesis, musicality, and post modern dubbing techniques. A subtle bass line switch up on the second drop guarantees satisfaction.

Silent Season welcomes Russian producer Toki Fuko to the roster for this special versions edition double 12"" of deeper soundscapes. Toki Fuko's music can be described as mechanical signals structured in a hypnotic substance with a dub techno groove and rhythm sequences. The Spring Ray vinyl edition features 4 versions of Spring Ray, each unique in their own sense. The versions were specially mastered and cut by Stefan Betke of Scape Mastering. The ever productive Conforce returns to one of his key home labels for another exploration of his prolific deep sea techno sound. His Haedron EP has a firm dance floor focus, designed to propel you ever further forwards. Hi hats glisten like light beams penetrating the deep ocean, topped off with some timeless dub techno vibes that mixes Basic Channel with Planet E to mesmeric effect.

Radiant Aura Faculty (aka Raf Reza) takes us even deeper with the mystical 'Cid Pit Riddim', a slamming 707 acid bender sure to melt any dance floor. On the flip side, things heat up with Shamanta Chandran’s project WeTurnToRed (recently releasing their debut EP on ORO Records), featuring the progressive modular techno odyssey 'Warm Winter', an escape from Toronto’s long and tumultuous blizzards. Emerging from the Mahogani Forest, Korea Town Acid reinterprets Hemingway’s emotional ode to the jazz aesthetic 'Blue Notes' with her trademark cerebral rhythms and a masterful bassline that elevates the original to new heights. Closing it off, we have an amazing collaboration between Curtis Clark (aka Smoke of Lab.our Music) & Em Zy (member of Nikki Fierce) called Smoke & Shadows with their stellar debut single Convincing Thoughts that features Em Zy’s hazy vocal emanations amidst a backdrop of mystical reverberations and a dark, powerful groove.”

Swedish electro-dubstar Andreas Tilliander does a mean pair of acid dubs for Dub On Arrival, a new wing of Joachim Nordwall’s iDEAL Recordings institution

A longtime affiliate of the label, both under his own name and also as Mokira, Andreas Tilliander is a prime candidate to kick off their 7” dub series, bringing decades of echo chamber experience to a brilliant pair of sloshing acid dubs.

In signature style on the A-side’s ‘Expect Resistance’, Tilliander smudges the contours of a 303 and chirruping melodica until they resemble a curdled, lysergic reflection of Jamaican dub proper, highlighting its inherent links to house and techno.

On the B-side ‘Respect Existence’ he goes slower, more spacious and plasmic, like one of Rhythm & Sound’s drowsiest, a la ‘Roll Off’, but merged with early Plastikman-esque acid for a tactfully trippy, psychedelic effect Tilliander can safely call his own.

Alexi Delano and Jesper Dahlbäck is back together. It has gone 7 years since their latest release Guts To Move on ISL.

This brand new release on Kalvaberget is a deep and dubby techno EP. The first track burst out with the classic Delano-Dahlbäck sound. Raw 909 HH Fetish Dub.

The second track is a more straightforward dirty gentle-pumping-big-industrial-room 4/4 banger.

The legendary Moscow club Propaganda celebrates its 20th Anniversary in April 2017 and launches a brand new record label. The label will cover different styles of intelligent electronic music, focusing on techno in the first year. At the beginning there will be released music by great artists who had performances at Propaganda club in past. More artists will be involved and more excellent music will be released over time.

Fresh from her last release which featured an essential remix from Ricardo Villolobos,
Russian artist Julia Govor is back with three more great tracks on the ever excellent
Rhythm Cult.

Julia has come a long way since playing in a military band and is now a foremost house
and techno name who has released on labels like Cocoon, Hypertone and Second
State. She can also be found rocking crowds at the likes of Awakenings, Time Warp,
ADE & Sonar often alongside Richie Hawtin, with the core of her sound built around
an emotional truth, depth and devotion to seductive rhythms.

Opening the EP is the immediately absorbing 'United', a deep electronic house tune
with a warm bed of crisp, driving beats overlaid with acid twitches and dry claps. It
really locks you in and some female musings add a pensive air.

Next is the equally excellent 'Morse Code,', an airy and cerebral, super deep roller that
is quick and slick and filled with eerie atmospheres. Razor sharp hi-hats cut up the
groove, ponderous and hollow bass synths add depth and the whole thing is made for
heady backrooms at 4am.

Last of all is the seductive 'Parallelepiped', a quick and clipped deep techno cut that
will get you on your toes. Distant synth patters and perfectly programmed, frictionless
drums all add up to a steamy and seductive sound.

This is a high class EP of heady house and techno that will find favour with
connoisseurs all over.

Following on from 'Dimensional Space' on Echospace (Detroit), dub techno legend CV313, aka Stephen Hitchell offers up his second album, 'Glass City Sessions' on Minimood, featuring five profoundly immersive tracks that come as a double vinyl release only. CV313's signature dub techno sound has been a blueprint for the genre and is created on vintage hardware, all sounds, static, tones and paranormal occurrences are left in to render it as atmospheric as it is.

The five expansive recordings that make up the abum are actually based on live recordings from a DEMF aftershow night back in 2000 in Detroit. The music is a bit creepy and so was the experience of this live show' says Stephen Hitchell, It was an old dingy warehouse about 10 miles out of downtown Detroit, right next to the now abandoned Eloise asylum, but there are many stories of it still being haunted'. Indeed, that theme of haunted locations around Detroit echoes through the five tracks and makes them a truly cinematic experience.

Opening things up on the first record is the brilliantly dark 'Belle Isle Symphonics,' twelve frosty minutes of hunched-over drums and rattling metal sounds that place you in the centre of a large abandoned building. 'Masonic Mystic' is much sparser and more eerie, with watery chords and warm static suspending you in an unsettling calm atmosphere, but one that always feel like something strange is around the corner.

On the second record the superb 'Stars Above Elmwood' lifts the shadowy mood somewhat with more airy dub techno drums and pensive chords rippling out in all directions. It's warm, expansive, and utterly absorbing for more than 13 minutes. 'Two Way Inn' continues the trip in fine style with gentle chords and barely there drums, comforting white noise and distant pads all sinking you into a state of meditation before the masterful 'Eloise's Theme' arrives, an ambient-ish masterpiece with horizontal chords gently moving up and down the scales to trap you in a soothing state, but always with an undercurrent of foreboding.

It has been few years since MD2.6, but after a long hiatus techno dj and producer Mike Dehnert continues his exploration on MD2 with a new EP filled with straight and destructive techno tracks!

Everybody knows Umek as the Techno legend from Slovenia but having reprised his Zeta Reticula moniker in 2015 (after a hiatus of more than a decade) on his own 1605, Electrix and more recently Berlin label, Mechatronica, it's fast become apparent that he's also a major force to be reckoned with in the Electro universe.

Returning to Billy Nasty's Electrix with his seventh Zeta Reticula instalment for the label we get four new tracks this autumn that prove his credentials even further.

Whether he's laying down the future funk sounds of opener '13000 AU From Our Sun', the robotic melodics of 'A Common Motion Through Space', the retro drive of 'Chromospheric Activity' or the twanging groove of 'Southern Skies', his razor sharp production, creative synth work and deep basslines shine through on this essential release.

Louis captures the secret life of techno in all his compositions. On Metronomik, his stripped 808 grooves emulate the harsh time keeping of life',s metronome. Warm, gentle washes and
thoughtful melodies remind us of who we are in this time/space. Ideal for home listening or inspired movement.

Roots In Heaven is a Berlin-based act that could very easily capitalize on his past accomplishments within the world of intrepid electronic music. As a label owner, resident DJ at cutting-edge clubs, and accomplished solo artist behind a number of conceptually unique full-length albums, the conceiver of this project won't likely need any introduction to the intrepid fans of electronic music. As an extension of this artist's already solid commitment to deep sound, Roots in Heaven represents a new voyage without the help of biographical cues to his listeners: hidden behind an evocative mesh mask lined with obsidian feathers, Roots in Heaven ignores the need to provide 'social proof' or self-justification. He communicates purely through the language of concentrated sensory impression, for which reason he has titled his debut, 'Petites Madeleines,' after one of the most memorable descriptive sequences in literary history (the famous meditation on the madeleine from Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu). As a prelude to the first full-length, Roots In Heaven has issued an untitled EP as a resounding 'shot across the bow'. However, this record is no half-conceived experiment to see what works and what doesn't, nor does it even feel like an 'EP' (in the traditional meaning of being a précis whose full report is available elsewhere). Attentive listening to its contents can cause a kind of time dilation, and a mysterious feeling of entering a world where familiar dualities (nature vs. technology, action vs. contemplation) are replaced by a feeling of total immanence. The A-side, 'Sang des Betes", accomplishes this with cascading, viscous layers of electronic tones that narrow and widen, rise and fall like the breath of some ancient entity. Periodically, bright flashes of tone arc across the horizon of the sound space, emphatically present but also elusive.

A new chapter for CREDO begins with Stefan Weise`s eight track album "The Tales We Tell Our Children" on its new sublabel CREDO.WHITE. Following the classic longplayer tradition of vinyl records these eight tracks on pure white vinyl deliver a facette of the CREDO sound being indicated by some single EP or album contributions already in the past, but now coming into full effect by this outstanding work of italy-born, germany-raised and meanwhile U.S. based Stefan Weise who made his name in the Dubtechno cosmos with his definition of deep, chordish and atmospheric technomusic. the rough playtime of around 20 minutes per side guarantees club-compatibility going hand in hand with extended listening pleasure for the living-room based turntable- and vinyl lovers.

The Idealist has a lifelong background in out there electronic music and has been suffering just as long from a deep dub passion, which has been present in his works with outfits as Saturn and the Sun, The Skull Defekts, Orchestra of Constant Distress, and numerous collabs. But the dub has never been in full focus. Not until now. Two cuts recorded at the Gothenburg Sound Experiment; "Inner Space Dub" which is a sick, capturing thing and the flipside, "The Fire of Moses Dub" which features vocal by the legendary Genesis Breyer P-Orridge of Psychic TV and Throbbing Gristle. Dub music as close to the late 70's industrial music scene as classic Jamaican stuff which the Idealist loves to the bone. Passionate, honest music which pays tribute to its influences but also succeeds to look forward into the eternal future.

Tucked away in a shed in Portland, Best Available Technology continues to cultivate an unmistakable sound grown around a seemingly untiring exploration of the machines that he works with. Across 'Enginetics & Plasmalterations' his densely layered sonic design agglutinates with a healthy appreciation for the unplanned or unexpected, forming a polymorphic collection of tracks for the 6th release from 12th Isle. While more traditional means of classification have become increasingly insufficient, it wouldn't be unfair to suggest that the music on this record bears a mutated resemblance to stuttered Downtempo or the dubbier side of Techno and Bass, connected by way of tonal plasticity through drone-jams and intermittently skewed synth loops.

Despite the frustrating limits of language surrounding music, we're incredibly happy to welcome B.A.T. to the label with this release and would be well enough compacting the overview of it to the near molecular level by borrowing a phrase from the artist himself - Sonics Proper!

On A side, electronic music wizards Kompozyt team up with a Dub Legend Lee 'Scratch' Perry to bring you a heavy-hitting and instant bounce-inducing Dub Techno track 'Hidden Force'. Lee Scratch Perry's amazing and charismatic Dub poetry blends superbly with the neat fusion of spacey and subterranean sounds of Kompozyt productions. The single is not to be missed this summer.

On B side, Kompozyt brings you a 7' version of 'Homesick' - Dub and Trip-hop inspired Experimental Electronica with Olgierd Dokalski on the trumpet. Olgierd's incredible performances of real haunting beauty further reinforce the analog, live and improvisational aspect of Kompozyt's music.

Welcome to Another Picture. After two decades of releasing music and much longer time being involved with music and production Losoul introduces a series of fine yet outstanding pieces of music. Being based on classic sound production this release opens a space for a wide range of musical exposure. You know the high times - you know low life. You can't deny both ways can't really exist without each other. There is the raw energy of 'BZA' consisting of rolling beats and basslines with sounds from the acidic realm being presented to the restless dancefloors by true originators' poetry. Believe that. This is counterparted by 'Sediments', a jam from nowhere else but the deep. Down here many things you might have taken for being lost remain in the abstract vibe and the groove. It's all in there. Let's go full circle.

Limited-edition, hand-stamped, white label. ÆX006 is kicking off strong and counts five tracks. On the a-side it's the debut by Selfsoul and ESHU member Tetelepta. Followed on the bside by Taupe and D&S, known for their vision on warm Detroitesque techno and Russian producer Ivan Erofeev with a punchy dubtechno roller.

Following a seventeen year hiatus since the release of Symbiotics on Mille Plateaux in 1999, Porter Ricks returns with a new EP on Tresor with plans for another release this coming year. The duo comprises of sound artist Thomas Köner and music producer Andy Mellwig.

During the duo's silence, Köner has been working extensively as a sound designer and artist - exhibiting at among other places the Centre Georges Pompidou and The Louvre. Mellwig's other projects include collaborations with Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, Pete Kember of Spacemen 3 and former Monolake member Gehrard Behles. Porter Ricks is undoubtedly the central item in their musical careers, setting a high-water mark for experimentally tinged pulsating techno.

Shadow Boat is deeply nuanced in its perception of space, using complex layers to add depth, detail, and density to non-formulaic techno compositions: buoyant dub, hazy ambience, and colorful sound design renders the project a diving platform at the intersection of club music and art. Though perhaps more focused on rhythm and melody than their experimental touchstone Biokinetics released 20 years ago on Chain Reaction in 1996, this most recent installment employs equally subtle artistic sensibilities that transcend the styles that typify contemporary electronic music.

Köner and Mellwig reveal the EP on the heels of a recent performance at Berlin Atonal festival, marking a new tide in their pace of output. The gap between Porter Ricks' releases, however, has proven that extended periods in the studio devoid of the pressure for consistent delivery permit the time to craft a very sophisticated sonic fabric. Shadow Boat, as if carried by a current, drifts in cadence with Porter Ricks' earlier releases as though pulled by a gravitational force spanning the stroke of time.

This marks the first new vinyl release from Echospace (Detroit) this year with all the content lovingly re-mastered in Echospace, Detroit, USA & cut @ Deepgrooves. An unreleased classic from the vaults emerges with newly remastered content from Radius's celebrated "Obsolete Machines" double album & two of the most epic creations featured on the "Interpolation Tapes" CD series, available for the first time ever on vinyl format. Many of the songs featured in this project were initially sent to Rod Modell & Mike Schommer shortly after they launched their brilliant deepchord label in 2001. (Recorded from 1993-2000) They were incredibly kind in saying it was the best demo they had ever heard and passed it on to Octal records for release, sadly, that didn't materialize and since then these masters have been collecting dust in our cassette rack for nearly 20 years now. We've spent months doing our best to restore the old tapes from our Tascam 688, an 8 track cassette recorder purchased and abused since 1992 and to our ears still sounds quite impressive even by modern standards. We've had nearly every component replaced and re-calibrated to bring this obsolete machine back to life, it's been a truly nostalgic experience re-visiting and redesigning these masters.

We truly hope you enjoy reliving these magical times of music, very inspired by all that was happening in those years, there was just something in the air, an undeniable energy, long may it live on...

On the second TRULE release Al Wootton (AKA Deadboy) drops his first ever record under his own name. Traces of dub, UK garage and techno inform the forward leaning, club-focused sound.
On SELAH, Al creates a driving steppers rhythm shot through with dub manipulations and UK swing.
OMEGA and UNTITLED on the B side continue in the percussive, tracky, swung techno vein of the first TRULE record.

The following electronic soundscape features music from Eduardo De La Calle, Brendon Moeller, Tobias. and Mike Dehnert. All profits generated from this record will be donated to the Oceanic Preservation Society.

Eva Be has been a key figure on the development of Berlin underground club culture, going back to the 90s and her involvement with the Sonar Kollektiv crew that included the likes of Dixon, Ame and Jazzanova, to name a few. A highly talented producer and DJ, this EP on Poker Flat Wax showcases her skillful mastery of house music.

'Delight' kicks things off on the A side, a low slung groove wirth Chicago-esque percussion that pops out of the speakers. Some of Eva's love for dub and reggae is also present - vocals and chord stabs echo and shimmer across the track.

'Breathe' is a little more floor focussed - a hard knocking kick starts this off and the track develops into one of those deep, emotional and driving tracks that get dancefloors into a serious states of ecstasy.

Flip the wax and 'Pills' is the third offering for this release - precise-yet-wonky drums, breakbeats, deep pads and synth lines that gel together into a perfect, hedonistic whole.

Echocord sub-label Echo Echo continues this July with Orbite's 'Interstellar' EP, a threetracker from the Berlin- based producer. Orbite is a brand new project founded in Berlin, Germany with a nod towards the raw, dubby sounds often heard across the clubs in the city, and where better to inaugurate things than the recently launched sub-label of Copenhagen's Echocord, one of the leading imprints in the realms of Dub Techno, home to pioneering acts like Rod Modell/Deepchord, Pole and Fluxion who have paved the way for Orbite's own twist on the genre. The ethereal pad textures of 'Skylar' lead on the package, deftly evolving alongside bubbling synth tones, swelling chords and shuffled percussion to create a create dynamically unfolding six and a half minute cut. 'Moment' follows, edging things further into dubbed-out territories with heavily delayed dub echoes and mesmeric spoken word poetry intertwining to create a, hypnotic beatless soundscape. 'Organi' closes the record with emotive, billowing pads, warm bell like tones and vocal murmurs running alongside swinging shakers and stripped-back micro-house percussion.

All things come from and return to the same source - such is the theory of Monism; an ancient philosophy, but also accounting for the music of Jeroen Search. Dictated by an ethos of exclusively recording live takes and the only ever editing happening while a tune is being created, each finished track is imbued with that unique magic of the moment. Such too is the nature of Monism, Search's first LP in over two decades of electronic explorations and personal as well as artistic growth. As with any of his music that has been released so far, the tracks on here hold a timeless quality, existing within their own frame of reference than - that is their immediate experience. Sven Weisemann is set to release his 'Bilateral Relations' EP via Copenhagen's Echocord this September, comprising four originals from the German producer.
Sven Weisemann has been immersed in the underground House and Techno scene for quite some time now having started DJing in 1997 during the rise of the scene on his home turf of Berlin and going on to release material via the likes of Amsterdam's Delsin, Mojuba, Telrae and liebe.detail amongst many more.
Here though we see Sven joining the roster of Echocord, a perfect fit for his more dubbed out compositions with artists like Fluxion, Rod Modell and STL on the roster.
'Lunation' opens the release and sees Weisemann fuse emotive string melodies and cavernous vocal echoes with off- kilter rhythms and rounded sub hits before title-track 'Bilateral Relations' embraces a more direct four-four approach via sparse percussion and tumbling toms alongside choppy bass stabs and ever-unfolding, echoing dub chords.
Opening the flip is 'Monistic', an airy ethereal number employing billowing pads, bright synth chimes and a dropped tempo dubbed out feel to create something truly stunning and thought provoking before the 'Decimation (Valvle tR9 Mix) closes things on a darker tip with looming stab swells, heavily swung drums and sporadic growling bass drones.

French duo Ligovskoi are to release Esam, their second artist album and first on Field Records. It features eight expertly crafted tracks that take the listener on a spacey and hypnotic journey towards inner bliss. Formed by Nikolai Azonov and Valerio Selig in 2010, Ligovskoi once again draw on a sound palette that includes samples, synths, vocals, feedback, guitar and field recordings that merge in a painterly and romantic form of music. It recalls vast landscapes, abstract patterns and poetic movement. The title 'Esam' refers to a small, isolated mountain located on the moon, and the album is a journey to a similarly otherworldly landscape absent of human life. It features free improvisations, repetitive patterns and experimental materials that convey a wide range of emotions and styles from weightless shiny atmospheres to dark, heavy and swarming textures, leading the listener to deep contemplation. 'We spend a lot of time exchanging thoughts and feelings about the experiences we had while creating and listening, like old friends looking at clouds and discussing the shapes they see. By publishing our music, we hope that listeners will recognise their own feelings and that they will understand or feel something in common with us.' From sombre musical landscapes made from lingering drones to more uplifting, light emitting tracks, this is a slow burning but high impact album. Tracks like 'Behaim' suspend you in comforting sound, the title track prompts inward reflection and the likes of 'Cortage' is the sound of being listen to the heavens. Esam is a transportive, thoughtful album that takes you deep into a unique musical world.

Lars Fenin,born and raised in Hamburg has been around the music scene
in berlin since the mid 90ties as reggae guitarist/songwriter/live-act/artist/producer/dj.
His first experiments in electronic music started in 1998 with some friends in Hamburg, followed two years later by his
first Ep release called 'Herr Pitzelberger dreht auf" for the Berlin based label Shitkatapult.
Since then Fenin has released several Eps and albums for his homies Shitkatapult as well as 12" s and remixes for
labels like Echocord, Revolver, Eintakt and Mitek among others. Along the years he could boast collaborations with artists
such as Deadbeat, Mikael Stavöstrand, D-meteo, k.j.gibbs,Horace Andy, der dritte raum, Eraldo Bernocchi and Jeff Milligan. Since 2008 he runs also his own label called "Dock-records"..

Soundwise, Fenin's productions range from roots reggae/dub pieces
to cordish/melodic techno sets and electronic alike soundscapes.

Following on from his second long player, Romanian artist Mihai Popoviciu's distinguished 2016 offering 'Home' is set to undergo a weighty four-part remix project, with remixes from Steve Bug, Kevin Yost, Sascha Dive, Tuccillo and more. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album's called "Home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home." With 'Home' gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages, with Part One dropping in early May. Part One is opened by Poker Flat boss Steve Bug's hazy interpretation of 'Focus', which floats effortlessly amongst precise drum work, subtle vocals and rich chords.

Peter Van Hoesen presents Uncovered 2008-2018 Vol 1-3 - a three-part, 52 track compilation documenting his sound over ten years of the beloved Time To Express imprint. Consisting of Peter's unreleased tracks, rediscovered sketches and material from his live shows, Uncovered offers a coherent overview of his creative process during this period, deconstructing his inimitable aesthetic across three distinct volumes. Listening back to Roman Poncet's first releases on Figure just a couple years ago, they already hinted at the producer's keen technical abilities and a knack for rich texturing, resulting in tracks that were
both carried by force and form. What he delivers now is an impressively mature debut album, ripe with personal creative realization.

On Gypsophila the French producer uses the extended format to slowly shape up a scenery of epic proportions where surprise and constant change lurk around every corner. A certain sense of
progression and evolution runs throughout Poncet's music; it invariably keeps one locked in, no matter for the opening drones of Do Not or the patiently growing Thick Vegetation, which fuses tribal
percussion and choral chants to showcase another of this LP's key features: its dense soundscape, which at once feels inherently electronic yet deeply organic, translating the abstract futuristic themes
of techno into something jam-packed and heady albeit steadily grounded - a listening experience that is as dreamy as it remains tangible.

This holds true for the highly atmospheric synth-lead pieces, such as the cinematic intro Hello You, the elevating arp-ride Epreuve or the suspended celestial groove of Atlas. But equally goes for the floorfocused
rhythms, like relentless steam engine-workout Piege or mid-album mind-trip In Aeternam. Adding even more variety and depth to the mix, the tidal title track is given its own side to explore the
sheer endless expanses of dub...
Bundling the complete range of his influences, Gypsophila marks the pinnacle of Roman Poncet's work to date. Covering a spectrum this broad in his very own way, the album proves as relevant for the
current club scene as it will be for repeated return visits.

Celebrating the imprint's 10th anniversary, Mike Dehnert returns to his own Fachwerk label with a new full length LP available in 2x12" and digital, following a striking 12" on DJ Koze's Pampa Records at the end of 2016. Across 10 tracks, here Dehnert explores new territory with a restrained and subtle sound while retaining his commanding touch when it comes to creating deep club music. Intro sets the tone of the album, providing an profusion of tidal tones and textures that soak the listener in sound. Before long though, you're listening to the percussive stabs and pensive drums of Between No Words. Here we hear for the first time on the record the subtle but remarkable vocals of Albert Vogt, who returns throughout the LP. Listeners will also be reminded of Dehnert's skill for crafting complex and emotional music with very few elements, which becomes only more evident as this LP opens up. From here Dehnert traverses through dubbed out techno, deep house and downtempo, all with an experimental playfulness and a lightness of touch that only a producer with his talent and raw experience could pull off. The album peaks with the storming Providing Home 2. With swirling, unpredictable arpeggios, hard hitting drums and a sparingly used vocal hook, this is the track that'll ignite ecstasy across dancefloors for years to come. From here, Dehnert quickly cleanses the palette with the beatless Starground, a ringing and pulsing synth piece, pierced by all manner of klangs and bleeps. This perfectly sets up the album's final epic, Laxwax. Another one aimed squarely at the club, but this time it's for darker dancefloors. In stark contrast to its predecessors on the record, this track is insular, hypnotic and raw. Not content to end on such a note, Dehnert provides one last exertion. Outro is bombastic and pounding, with a rave inspired synth line and heavily swung percussion. Topped with cut up and percussive vocals, the track lives up to it's name summing up the LP and adding to it at the same time. This thoughtful record takes elements of modern pop music and extrapolates them with a patience rarely found within the genre itself. Backed by Dehnert's exceptional experience when it comes to producing club music, the result is an album that's simultaneously poppy and experimental, yet fundamentally rooted in techno. It's for that reason that this will surely be such a crossover hit; it has a palette that is broad yet refined, that will undoubtedly reach new ears while appeasing and surprising familiar ones.
