Uncovering a rising Ukrainian artist on the 6th release of the NECHTO record label.

Nastia welcomes #BSKD on board of her NECHTO imprint. The Ukrainian DJ and producer first joined forces with Nastia during the label's major showcase earlier this year and the two later played b2b during Nastia's residency at Beatport on Twitch. Now the artist is glad to present a four-track EP on NECHTO.
"This release consists of four different tracks, which were written at entirely different times and even in various places," says the Ukrainian producer." Each track means something particular to me, in general, I think that it turned out to be a very interesting EP. I am very glad that I can take part in such a project like NECHTO, and certainly, I am glad that my work is released on a Ukrainian label."

Detroit bred / LA based producer Kenny Larkin has long been a force to be reckoned with, both in the studio and in the DJ booth. "A Broken Clock Is Right Twice A Day" EP is comprised of 7 tracks recorded in Kazan and Moscow during various sessions. Some of them go back as early as 2014 and everything is composed on two 8-track samplers.
Alina Izolenta and Kamil Ea were born in the USSR, so the origin of the acronym PTU is embedded in everyday life of a country, which no longer exists. The duo spent their childhood in Siberia and on Volga, and their salad days in music schools and early clubs of their respective home cities.

Back then accessing the Internet was only possible via pre-paid cards that came in envelopes. Music — via pirate CDs and endlessly slow mp3 downloads. Friendships would stem from copying music from hard drive to hard drive. The name PTU came to life in the middle of 00s, in a rented apartment, literally the last building in some street on the outskirts, over impromptu synth sessions with friends.

The collective mind of SIKU delivers its opening statement: four techno cuts for the club heads who are lusting for liberation. Heavy basslines, surrounded by evolving pads and raw drums make up the sound of the resistance.

The Peruvian gathering from Barcelona is committed to consistently churning out heavy tunes through their series of VAs, which will be showcasing the group’s talent. Stay tuned for more…

For the label's 10th release, OSF presents 'Love is in the Air' by Nur Jaber & featured vocalist Kara; sending a clear message of positivity despite these difficult times.

The last time Kara and Nur got together in the studio was 2017 which subsequently saw the recording and release of 'War Pigs' (another significant title) which sends out powerful & dominating screams influenced by the heated political situation at the time.

Cai Bojsen-Møller co-founded the original Multiplex imprint and released his debut solo album A Bit of Something on the label in 1996. Cai is an accomplished drummer and his acoustic talents shine through in his electronic work and 909 skills. Out of the circuit for fifteen years, he now returns in stunning form!

The idea behind "The Spirit of Man and Machine" evolved around the point where organic elements meet and elevate the programmed part of the music. Because of the technology available to everyone today, much music is completely quantized, but to make things flawless, risks the loss of feeling to digital perfection. Emerging from the Danish rock scene in the early 80's, correctness was nothing to strive for. With the formula of analog synths through an analog mixer and the drums and sequences recorded live, with a mindset for the right vibe, Cai's new tracks ties in well with his 1990's productions.

It starts with a melancholy chord on "Phalanx" - this deep track sets the mood with a nudge to the early sci-fi techno of Detroit. "Stille Storm" (Danish for "Quiet Storm") has been treated to an edit by Steen Kong, accentuating the hypnotic groove for the early hours. "Oshi Dashi", a Sumo term for the push-out technique, is a beautiful, melodic, minimalistic techno track. Finally the intense, cinematic compositions of "Whirling" end the EP in style.

Darzack debuts on Take Hit Records with three thunderous techno cuts entitled ‘A Night Lulled By Cupid Cygals’ EP including a remix from Bristol’s JoeFarr.

Growing up the artistic hub of Brittany in France, Darzack’s intensive drum and percussions training, piano and singing lessons led him to begin experimenting with electronic music and hardware discovery.
Darzack’s productions create bridges between various musical styles becoming a huge musical melting pot featuring floaty melancholic moments, acid touches and breakbeat inspirations which has earned him sets at clubs and festivals in and around France such as Les TransMusicales, Piknic Electronik, Festival

‘Fucking Masked Depression’ formulates growling oscillations, relentless percussion and chaotic synthesis
before ‘Illegal Things’ deploys obscure atmospheres through reverberating bass grooves, syncopated
drums and eerie vocals shimmering above.

On the flip, ‘Stop Crying’ lays down fast-paced drums, rising pads and cosmic leads driving the energy into
oblivion until JoeFarr’s remix of ‘Fucking Masked Depression’ rounds off the EP with machine-like tones,
uplifting break-downs and dystopian modulations that continue to shatter throughout.

On this record we find Kit Geary & Israel Vines (here as KGIV) exploring the subtleties of slow change within a techno track with the outstanding heady Mockingbird' and through the rocker From Fragments'. The B Side features an unsung hero of American techno - Borrowed Language veteran Jeff Pietro - with the sonic masterpiece of his hypnotic Mockingbird' remix.

Sometimes you want something so badly you don't even know to ask for it in the first place. Like Adam and Eve stumbling upon the fruit of knowledge — or psychedelic techno wizards Donato Dozzy and Retina.it (aka Lino Monaco and Nicola Buono) producing a pitch-perfect, vintage-styled minimal wave record, filled with icy synths, shuddering bass, and anthemic vocals, sounding like a lost gem unearthed from 1982 for the first time.

Except it's not — this record is brand new. The three Italians first came together under the moniker Le Officine Di Efesto, releasing an EP of murky left-field techno on Dozzy's own Spazio Disponibile. They quickly discovered a shared love of classic post-punk, wave, and synthpop, and not long after, Men With Secrets was born.

"Men With Secrets" might sound like an old-school synthpop act you've never heard of, but the name is actually borrowed from Richard Bone, an early New York electronic musician and minimal pop pioneer. The trio's name is but one of their many homages — Cabaret Voltaire, The Human League, New Order, and even Dopplereffekt are additional reference points — but this album is neither imitation nor rehash. It's just as carefully and ingeniously produced as you'd expect a record from Donato Dozzy and Retina.it to be, except it's filled with poppy hooks so brilliantly catchy they'll stick in your head until you hit 'Repeat' and find yourself singing along.

These Men With Secrets clearly have their tongue placed firmly in cheek: check the record's title and artwork for proof. But the music is deadly serious. The drums hit hard, the synths soar to emotional heights, and the vocals intone rhythmically. All of it's coated in the warm fuzz of analogue tape. Not many records on The Bunker New York are as likely to be played in goth clubs as they are by adventurous techno DJs, but then again, this is not your average Bunker New York record.

Samuel L Session combines driving percussion, dense atmosphere and warm funkiness like no other. Milligramme feels blessed, releasing four tracks, which have a discreet dub touch as well. Samuel remains true to himself, of course, but this unique sub tone of Scanners EP is indeed a little revolution. The tracks range from elegant soundscapes to driving floor fillers. An EP, which deserves to be called an EP.

This compilation is the result of an international production contest led by Nymphony Records. In this volume feature all the winners of the « Techno » category. The body of the project is caracterised by a heavy use of 90's synths and dark industrial beats with a relentless pace.

Following the 10' BURN01 release which dropped in February we're treated to round two with a stellar remix package of the unknown artist to mangle, fire up and hypnotise the Dancefloor in equal measures.

First up Bawrut puts the original through his sonic mangle with the result being a twisted genre-defying slice of niceness. Telfort follows with a deep late night excursion which takes inspiration from the past but ends up sounding like a future classic. Flipping over you have the master of deep, Charles Webster, who flips the original completely and comes up with a sublime rework which is unmistakably his sound, cerebral and dark yet also uplifting and ridiculously warm and enveloping.

Limited 100 vinyl pressure on this one from an undisclosed European producer who has been responsible for more than a few choice cuts over his 25 years of releasing records. Burning Up lights the dance floor by squeezing every last drop of energy out of just a few key elements, a modulating pulsing cross-rhythm bass snakes around driving disco beats with choice vocal samples adding the final bit of ear candy. Minimal, a bit twisted, but hooky as hell.
On the flip we have Becoming Cyclonic, a far deeper excursion where 808 toms dance around a repeating fretless bass melody. An immersive and euphoric melding of drum machines, synths and 12bit jazz-fusion samples, all being put through the sonic mincer and coming out like the proverbial gourmet sausage. Yum!

Leipzig-based duo Yarn Init make their debut on Mind Controlled Rectifier with the label's first ever physical release, 'Ill Compound'. The 6 track record is a testament to Yarn Init's mastery of mood, with the pair creating progressive grooves that build towards subtly deep and intense center points across various styles.

Morillo.It was back to basics with a 16 minute bassline originally programmed and recorded by L.A. Morillo – chopped and looped by DJ Sotofett for Madteo to layer the legendary 14 minute live freestyle vocals. B-Side holds the deep Vision of Love Club Mix – with a pinch of both Ibiza Club and Techno Underground atmosphere.When released none of this was new – though we re-defined what was forgotten by so many. And beware, as there has been rip offs, techy-bootlegs and people selling vinyl rips digital files – but this is the true original from WANIA#1.

Since their inception in 2005, the Hamburg duo has commanded the loftiest respect throughout the industry thanks to their thoughtful and emotive brand of house and techno. From ‘Soopertrack’ to ‘Dark Side of the Room’, every raver worth their salt has had an Extrawelt dancefloor moment, their soaring chords touching hearts and hips in equal doses. Taking their intuitive approach to musical production to its next evolutionary phase, the ‘Automatik Akrobatik EP’ sees them in free-flow form, gifting us with a triumvirate of superb studio jams that encapsulate everything that’s special about their music. ‘Alpha & Oma’ is uplifting and throbbing, the kind of visceral techno gem that would make even the most hardened punter a little weapy. ‘Email auf Klinke’ is punchy and minimal, a solid roller to contrast its predecessor. The title track has the sonic arc of an epic film score, building from a languid pace to a widescreen glistening wall of sound, inspiring and bad ass in equal doses. “These tracks are basically “one take” jams with very few edits afterwards. The computer was mostly acting as a tape recorder while the arrange took place on the desk and machines. Berlin born and Munich based Myk Derill can`t ignore his roots. Every second of his album "Touching Lie" reflects the vibe of his origins with its rough, edgy and beat-dominated sound. "Touching Lie" is a masterpiece, well, almost a lesson in how to design modern techno with vault or basement--compatible music for the feet. At the same time there is enough soul and awareness of how to transport emotion in music that, per se, is produced machine based which is as non organic as it can be. However, Myk has proven for meanwhile far more than a decade, that, by all dedication to the machine as the chosen medium to transport his definition of music, he is truly capable of turning cold and raw patterns into something beyond a purely technocratic experience. His sound, though being that straight and forward, carries something organic inside. And this is what it`s called art, isn`t it?

The A-Side is brightly remixed by the Swedish Abdulla Rashim who delivers a progressive and hypnotising machinery techno on 'The Net'. LA-based producer Silent Servant, adds an industrial aspect to his version of 'The Need Of Development'. On the flip side, Berlin's interdisciplinary artist Efdemin reincarnates 'The Motivation' by adding introspective textures, which is followed by Function's powerful version that enhances the angular orchestral beats of 'The Big Steps'.

Non Series once again comes across with a sophisticated release, exploring eclectic soundscapes of techno.

Amelie Lens' EXHALE imprint launches with a myriad of uncompromising techno tracks from the underground's finest established and aspiring artists.

EXHALE's much anticipated first release continues the legacy of the EXHALE event series with a fifteen original track compilation featuring old and new friends from each avenue of the underground. With a shared love of rave culture, the label is a platform for the forward-thinking while simultaneously paying homage to foundations of techno. With this in mind, Amelie gathers familiar faces and upcoming artists to deliver the future sounds of techno.

Opening the second EXH001 vinyl is Berlin based producer Klangkuenstler with 'Engelsblut', an oscillation of stabbing keys, sinister drones and unrelenting hi-hats before transitioning into 'Take Two' from REMY-X, whom Amelie discovered after his stand-out EP on Coincidence Records last year. DJ/Producer at the forefront of French techno Antigone proceeds with 'U Tell Me', along with Brecc who incorporates industrial elements and thundering bass with track 'Vox', continuing with Antwerp producer Lukas Firtzer's 'Excessus', packed with shifting percussions and tenacious melodies.

Bristol-based artist Void Cells returns on Blind Allies with a solid five-tracks EP, filled with atmospheric beats and raw, distorted pads.
The record, different to the previous releases, includes a special remix by NX1 and features vocals by Helena Markos.

Alfredo Mazzilli takes you on a hypnotic tour on the 41th installment of the Planet Rhythm Black series. From the euphoric "Clarity" to the more powerful "Unknown Suspect" and the acidic "Murder Situation". The EP closes with the deep and driving "Blind".
