The Monument team is glad and proud to announce the very first release of its upcoming record label: Prologue EP
The four-tracker opening EP will introduce some of the different moods that the label will explore in the future, through a careful selection of tracks from four artists who are deeply connected to our community.
Opening things up with a blissful emerging ambient stroll by Shoal, the records' A-side will then offer a highly organic & mental dub techno trip by Korridor. On the flip side more upbeat sounds will be featured, with a nature-infused, ethereal atmospheric techno journey by Claudio PRC, and a fast paced, elegant deep techno ride by Atomic Moog.

A short visit to the Indochinese Peninsula at the wrong time of the global pandemic breakout, led Ian Richter to over a year and a half of living in Vietnam, and to a deep love affair with the Vietnamese folk religion. Ian was intrigued to find a place drenched in culture and mysticism existing hand in hand with hyper capitalism (yet officially committed to socialism).
Over the course of the last 18 month Ian recorded, mentally and physically, the sounds of his encounters and experiences. From daily life, through industrial and natural landscapes, to ancient and modern dance, forging foreign with familiar, mysticism with science, and claustrophobia with liberation.

Pillow Queen, the production duo of D. Tiffany and Vani-T, continue their sonic, sensous charting of the dancefloor in their new 3-track release Calling Me, a collaboration with the vocalist, writer and sex worker Ruin. Sexual drive has always been in the alchemy of Pillow Queen’s music, but at the fore is a wider, more encompassing erotics – one of the spirit and uninhibited body. Such is the force Ruin and the girls incant on this record.
The opening track, which also gives the release its title, begins with wide, introspective chords. “Calling Me” is spacious, and takes its time to build over 10 and a half gorgeous minutes, riding on at 118 BPM. Akin to some works of Robert Leiner or John Beltran, it’s a track situating spirituality in the genre of trance via the builds and flows of the music itself, rather than gimmicky cues of “Eastern” Goa vocals or overblown psychedelic drama. As always with Pillow Queen, the vocal samples are pitched and twisted with the greatest care.
By their third release, one can begin to note the duo’s characteristic gestures, and “Tunnel Vision” is somehow emblematic here: those pitched vocals, synth loops frayed out from filters, and crisp, bright drum programming that makes 134 BPM feel like the most natural metronome your feet and ass could follow. We hear Ruin for the first time two minutes in: “You cannot tunnel vision me”. She speaks of a “dance without dogma” in between short choral swells, picking up on the theme of a rewritten divine that figures into Pillow Queen’s Burn Me Up (2020). The phrase “dance without dogma” refers to the writings of Gabrielle Roth, a dancer and author noted for founding the 5Rhythms movement-meditation. Roth’s phrase “sweat your prayers” has also been held aloft as an ethic of the party series Radiant Love, where this EP's final track, “She’s Hot Magic,” was intended to be performed live by Ruin and D. Tiffany. Again we start airborne with birdcall and floating chords. Picking up a kick drum after 3 minutes, and a bassline after 5, this is truly some deep-dancefloor-7AM-body-and-soul-fully-merged shit. Concurrently, we hear Ruin asking us “Unconscious floor, do you know what good touch is?” and “Can you trust this sound?” No doubt, we are being called.

Aviador Dro are without a doubt the most avant-garde and influential techno-pop band from Spain. They started in 1979 and this year are celebrating their 40th anniversary playing shows, re-releasing some old works, publishing a book and also a new album.
“Acción Contra El Pasado” was recorded in Madrid in December of 1980 and is one of the oldest live performances of which there is a recording evidence. This concert is legendary not only for its age, but also for including some unreleased songs, a couple of early covers by Kraftwerk and Sex Pistols and vintage versions of classics tracks.
“Aviador Dro y su Maquinaria Humana” (exactly as it was announced on the original flyer) was formed at that time by Biovac N, Fox Cicloide, Placa Tumbler, Derflex Tipo IARR, CTA 102, X, Metalina 2 and Cyberjet. A priceless piece of history restored and remastered from the original cassette recorded directly from the mixing desk.
Limited edition of 400 copies with a A2 size colour poster.

Can Love Be Synth are in love with old analogue machines and define their specific sound in the legendary Synthesizer Studio Hamburg. A synth collectors paradise hidden behind the big grey walls of a Bunker building and the club Uebel & Gefährlich between the Reeperbahn and Schanzenviertel district in Hamburg, Germany.
Their new song ‘Bunker’ is now available as a digital and vinyl release on A CLEAN CUT including fantastic remixes by Richard Fearless, Terr and quadratschulz.
The Bunker building is currently extended with a 54-meter-high superstructure for an ultra-violent instant gentrification. In the original version of the song the heavy blows of hammers are clearly audible. This sound journey from zen to noise is a beautifully shimmering ‘black hole made from music’, where implosion and explosion energetically meet. If it needed another reason for the clubs to reopen, this song would be the one - it is perfect for long nights and for days without light rays.

Picking up right where EP #1 left off, EP #2 kicks things off with a bang. First up is Catz 'N Dogz and Yotam Avni's for 'Blakkat'; a high pace burner ideally suited for dance floors from Panorama Bar to under the LED's of Watergate and every club in-between. The duo return with the 'Bright Version' of 'Afterglow' for the second cut on EP 2 and aptly titled, it pushes an intense, glitter filled ride to it's limits. Embarking onto the B-side, 'O.A. Peas' from heavy hitter Eats Everything & Lord Leopard take a trip down memory lane with a heavily sample based feel good tune that will absolutely demolish dance floors worldwide. Rounding out the EP is a final collaboration between Catz 'N Dogz and Reno Wurzbacher with 'To Ma People' and it's by far the smoothest and most laid back tune of the bundle, but never does it let you rest as a mesmerizing groove and lush atmospherics tell a deep, complex tale of late nights and early mornings.

Central Scotland native Craig Birrell steps up for the latest Temporize 12″ installment. Many moons in the making, the debut release from a producer who cares less for rules and even less for creating a conventional sound. Outsider and off-kilter rhythms throughout the
4 tracks with a smattering of love for the dancers and a healthy dose of gloop for the afterparty.

A pair of high voltage fairy-tales from the ever psychedelic Leisure Connection crew (responsible for the classic frolicking, sloth adorned Jungle Dancing No 'Label' 12" back in 2013) . With twists and turns a plenty along the way - everything sounds gloriously badly wired and sparking. Big. Recorded in Los Angeles. Mastered by the Bastard.

House music legend Ian Pooley readies ‘Studio A Pt. 1’, the first of a three release series, for Radio Slave’s Rekids imprint this September.
Active since the early 90s, the German DJ/producer has released on the likes of Force Inc, V2 Records, and his own Pooledmusic, as well as remixing for the likes of Daft Punk, Deee-Lite, Carl Cox and many more.
Here though, Pooley arrives on Rekids with his first ever contribution to the label, delivering three direct and grooving house tracks.
Leading the release, ‘Basic Juno’ sees modulating synth lines deftly placed around chunky drums accompanied by pulsing basslines and shimmering pads, before ‘Close Your Eyes’ brings a dose of trippy vocals and shuffling percussion amongst interplaying hardware for a punchy start to the B side. ‘303 (2 Bars)’ brings the release to a close with pounding drum machines, meaty acid lines, and blissful leads.

Low Concept is the Berlin based pairing of Ville Haimala (Renaissance Man) and Daniel Fisher (Physical Therapy). Separately they have become known for their deeply conceptual and experimental approaches to club music. Low Concept is their attempt to strip back the baggage and provide straighttothepoint, dancefloor tracks.
Low Concept is what it is.
Bugz is their debut EP, the third release for London via NewYork based label White Asega. The title track is delivered from the point of view of a DJ looking down on the teeming masses of dancers below the booth. It's a loose, distorted, techno belter: all stroboscopic hihats, bleeping electronics and gutpunching kick drums, built around an exhilarating tussle between classic techno functionalism and a fierce, restless maximalism.
The Prick is twostepper techno for the early morning. Dedicated to 'club freaks' everywhere, it finds the pair slowing things to a crawl, blowing out the speaker cones and rattling the nails out of the floorboards as scraps of rave vocals and wonky synth lines are pulled into an all consuming, blackhole of a bass line.
Manchester's Alex Coulton delivers a thumping 127bpm remix of Bugz on the flip, honing in on the darker and more suffocated corners of Low Concept's original to deliver a heavy and hypnotic killer it's raw, acid tinged edge perfect for pummelling late night heads into submission. A digital exclusive remix comes from White Asegacofounder Jack Dixon, the New York based producer offering up his deliriously colourful take on the title track, throwing layers of found sounds into the percussive maelstrom resulting in a hyperactive, and slightly surreal, reinterpretation.

E-Missions co-founder P.Leone returns to Radio Slaves’ Rekids Special Projects dropping four high grade techno cuts. Known for releasing on labels such as Work Them Records and his own co-run E-Missions, P.Leone has firmly become of the most exciting artists within the inner circles of driving underground music. The Berlin-based American artist and Radio Slave collaborator is now welcomed back to Rekids, bringing his versatile sound that encompasses dark techno and groove driven house. 'Beyond Me' opens with eerie warehouse glitches, cavernous drums that ring out into a huge open space while unsettling pads and textures grab your attention, 'Hard to Find' is a rugged, relentless cut with perfectly forward moving rhythm with detailed edgy synths that keep you in suspense. 'Lenox' continues the energy with distorted drums, hitting hard beneath a blistering groove, 'The Genes is of A Flower' then takes control as an atmospheric track with structural synths.

It’s been a while since we last heard from Steve Summers, one of the
many musical aliases of former Brooklyn and Berlin resident turned
Chicago-based producer Jason Letkiewicz. When he last landed on proudly
Chicagoan imprint CLEAR with the robust and unearthly “Artificial
Light” EP, it was on the back of nine years spent building up Steve
Summers as a purveyor of forthright club cuts that pushed at the limits
of acceptability.
That was 2017. In the three years since, Letkiewicz has prioritized
projects that indulge different sides of his complex musical persona.
There was the critically acclaimed, all-action Mutant Beat Dance
“record album booklet” on Rush Hour – a collaboration with Melvin
Oliphant III and Beau Wanzer – and then the EBM, electro and
industrial-influenced grooves of Opposing Currents on Artificial Dance.
2018 also saw him release the sophomore set from his 1980s horror
soundtrack-infused Death Commando project, while in 2019 Letkiewicz
finally put out his first album under his given name – the picturesque
new age and ambient movements of “The Reflecting Pool” on Into The
Light.
But that was then. Now Letkiewicz has finally donned the Steve Summers
pseudonym again for a return to CLEAR that’s defiantly intense and
otherworldly in tone, “Counter-Factuals” is powered primarily by the
kind of psychedelic acid lines and thrusting machine drums that have
long been a hallmark of Chicago house. This is no nostalgia-fest
though, with Letkiewicz’s take on “acid” being more abstract and
unorthodox than the music of his predecessors.
Proof of this analysis arrives straight away, with EP opener “Counter-
Factuals” ratcheting up the intensity through waves of hallucinatory
acid lines, blunted electronics, druggy male vocal samples and clanking
machine beats. Letkiewicz takes similar sonic approach on “People
Watching”, whose full-throttle approach cuts a path through jacking
acid house, surging EBM and the more dystopian aspects of 1980s
industrial music.
Over on side B, Letkiewicz combines all of these sounds and
inspirations on a cut that pivots around the twin attractions of trance-inducing acid lines and hypnotic analogue beats. Clocking in at
a fraction less than nine minutes, the track surges forward
relentlessly on a tornado of off-key electronics, fizzing TB-303 acid
lines and barely audible speech snippets. It seems a fitting conclusion
to one of Letkiewicz’s most impactful releases to date.

aphtc return to Arcane Patterns with a two-track single for their second release on the imprint, following the success of last years 'When Grounds Shift'.
'Rewind The Subject' is a stripped-back, anxious roller sitting at 130bpm, with modulated subs and panicked percussion.

Detroit pioneer Robert Hood joins Radio Slave’s Rekids label with a new album entitled ‘Mirror Man’ this November.
A founding member of Underground Resistance alongside Mad Mike Banks and Jeff Mills, Robert Hood is one of techno’s originators and his decorated career spans three decades. The American artist and his M-Plant label laid down the blueprint for minimal techno and 1994’s ‘Minimal Nation’ on Axis was a definitive album that further cemented Hood’s reputation as one of the greats to emerge from the Motor City.
Since then, Hood has gone on to release on many of electronic music’s best labels like Tresor, Peacefrog, Music Man Records, Dekmantel and more. After a busy few years making music and touring as Floorplan alongside his daughter Lyric, Hood now joins Rekids with an album showcasing his innate knack for crafting paired back but intricate rhythms that deliver punch and soul.
Opening with the cinematic ‘Through A Looking Glass Darkly’, the album quickly flows into precise, powerful four four. There’s mesmerising cuts such as ‘Fear Not’ with its throbbing bass and spectral vocals, the twisted and off-key ‘Run Bobby, Run’, not to mention muscular tracks designed to light up dancefloors like the machine driven ‘A System of Mirrors’ or the mesmerising ‘Face In The Water’. Hood also breaks things up with downtempo and mind-bending interludes, including the tranquil yet spooky ‘Black Mirror’ and the beatless and murky ‘Freeze’. Each of these are aural feasts that demonstrate his vast musical pallet.
From start to finish ‘Mirror Man’ is an education in finesse from one of techno’s most heroic artists, landing on one of electronic music’s most important labels.

Kyiv label Criminal Practice presents its foremost, the third compilation of dance smash hits. The release starts with the sharp and slightly ruffian track "Underground Legends" by the duo Virtual Reality, which consists of the co-founders of the Ukrainian label - Ghetto Sunrise and Roma Khropko. Then it's time for invited guest Kebab Traume and his composition "Tribe" - full of acid and raw tribal energy.
The B-side immediately adds intensity with the creation of another participant in Criminal Practice, Vlad Stuparenko. His "Engel" is an explosive mix of underground tech-house with proper acid notes, convincing and functional. It, in turn, resonates as much as possible with the final track of the compilation - "Kinetic Hearts" by Roma Khropko. A playful and compositionally enthralling canvas, fitting perfectly in any selector's morning set. Whistling on the dance floor is guaranteed!

Portuguese maestro Lewis Fautzi drops his 2nd EP on Soma of 2020 with the State Of Pressure EP. As well as two top drawer originals from Lewis, the EP features two specially commissioned remixes from fellow Portuguese rising stars Nørbak & Temudo, both of whom have featured this year on Soma to high acclaim.
Title track State Of Pressure opens and doesn't mess about as thumping, driving drums lay the foundation before pure, hypnotic rhythms begin their descent delivering that typical Fautzi sound. Nørbak's remix of State Of Pressure takes note of the originals hypnotic vibe offering a deeper and more percussive driven affair. Epidemic Of Wellness has Fautzi working in darker elements and delivering more tension with his use of each particular strain of the track, pulsing and modulating perfectly in sync. Temudo closes out the EP with his remix of Epidemic Of Wellness. Always focussing on groove and momentum, Temudo goes sub heavy on his version but retains the dark tones of the original whilst almost adding an Electro-like flex on the groove.
