Techno News
More unheard edits from Len Faki‘s personal vaults on this release, harking way back to the mid-'90s and their relentless, hard-hitting styles.
Chicago legend Robert Armani, also still hailed as one of the originators of hardstyle by many, makes an appearance on the A-side. And it‘s that characteristic, punishing kick sound, which is still present in the modern edit, carrying on the original‘s obtuse force albeit shrouded in a much more ominous and austere veil.

Four years ago Frigio Records' boss Juanpablo compiled the first instalment of these series and the result was a 12' that unearthed artists from across the globe. Now this second part retraces the same steps while venturing even further afield to source 'Frigio Allstars Vol.2'.
Pera Yang, a veteran of the first compilation, returns for the second instalment. The South Korean artist builds on the rowdy techno energy he brought in 2014, this time arriving with a bruising piece of warped industrial paranoia. Zagreb's Le Chocolat Noir, another member of the Frigio family, offers a similarly psychological work with the slender snares and sepulchral synths of 'Post-Hibernation Re- Activation.' That same grit is carried into Daniel Holt's 'Negative Spiritualism,' the Tennessee musician and half of Vault stabbing synths before running them through with rusted rhythms.
Although new names abound, from the stumbling percussion and buried strings of Japan's Satol to the thumping triumph of Foil's 'Distortion of Reality', there remains a constant, a looming menace and underhanded intent. Artificiero delivers the finale in the form of 'Logia De La Navaja,' a brooding work of ruffled occult wave to close a 12' that gleefully leans into the razor's edge.

We have the honour to welcome Linear Search.
Linear Search drops their EP, Line Integral on Eternal Friction Records, containing four original tracks.
The result is a powerful EP, that clearly demonstrates Linear Search unique and personal approach to contemporary techno.
The balance between the drums and the uplifting percussion are capable of bringing listeners into a certain state of mind. The warm and melodic synths fit perfectly into many layers of each track. Skillfully build grooves fused together with funky stabs, form a unique, recognisable and inimitable "Linear Search blend".
Although these tracks are all fairly different from each other, they are all produced in the same effective and delicate style. They make for an interesting EP, reason enough to follow these promising artists every move from now on.

Scalameriya returns to Perc Trax for his second solo EP for the label following on from "Hellzone Megapunk" from early in 2018. As expected Perc Trax's Serbian representative once again pushes his sound forward matching his ear for innovative sound design with his innate sense of rhythm. A-side track "Juggernaut" has already been a highlight of both Scalameriya and Perc's DJ sets since last year and has proved itself to be a guaranteed floor destroyer time and time again.
Flip it over and both "Vicious Remedy" and "Plothole" focus more on steady timbral build-up than instant rhythmic destruction. Both gradually winding up over the course of their first few minutes before peaking with an explosion of energy.
As with "Hellzone Megapunk" the 12" sleeve and release artwork for this EP is a collaboration between Perc Trax's resident design crew Adult Art Club and esteemed illustrator New Tasty. Both worked closely with Scalameriya and Perc Trax to ensure the perfect visual representation of Scalameriya's razor sharp future facing techno.

ARTSBOX001 - Five years in the making, label boss Emmanuel aimed to deliver what for him was the very best selection of artists and people he could ever imagine under one single roof.
Arts has now passed the landmark number of 100. But the reality is that we divided all the records into different categories, which makes the total number way bigger. Nevertheless, the label has become synonymous with quality and consistency with a wide range of timeless sounds from Techno, House, Dub Techno, Electro, championing some of the most respected names in the scene and pushing the youth and putting this same youth at the very top of the chain, the label philosophy keeps rotating on a different level of orbits trying to reach always the best result and never be influenced by anything in the scene.
The Box is a meticulous work of one entire year, every artist of the 20 selected delivered something that connects deeply with the label and the reason why they are part of it. The study goes beyond when artists get different colors of palettes and a different surface to paint, their known soundscapes come with something freer than the usual approach that they did in their singles. This is a pinnacle for a label that always placed Music in front of everything but kept the design and the aesthetics on a top level each release, each year. ARTS V is here.

2019 has sparked a new evolution for the transient broken beats of London’s Itinerant Dubs.
The enigmatic imprint has been running in silo since 2013, providing the final strongholds of the underground with innovative bass aesthetics and an intoxicating electro swarm. In fact, “It’s Magic” opens the A-side with a cold, bruising cut of metallic percussion wrapped around lonesome, dystopian bleeps and form-shifting synths. Minimised and stripped-back to its core functions, guided by bold infusions of breaks. “Oh She Dance” is the duo’s most playful construction yet, mashing up a loose jungle flow with more rigid breakbeat science to form a deathly machine-gun of sonics. Bullets keep spraying across “Salsa On Mars” - a raucous, percussion-heavy slice of dubbed-out house - albeit with a moodier, more introspective groove that takes its ammunition from London’s inimitable jazz arsenal.

Malfunctioning speakers, & digital dreamscapes, SQUIRRELS ON FILM's 4th release explores the outer reaches of techno with impolite, reckless abandon.
Psychedelic sound explorer Its Own infinite Flower, who was
responsible, along with head squirrels Solar & C.l.a.w.s., for San
Francisco underground punk rave/happening Hostile Ambient
Takeover, unleashes his first official release, The Plumes of Love (ARE BLACK!). After contributing a track to 2017's Spacetime Continuum/ Juju & Jordash curated Air Texture V compilation, this four track EP of abstract tech-noise brings the sounds Its Own Infinite Flower refined in the basements & warehouses of the Bay Area's underground music scene to the wider world, whether it's ready or not.
'Drone, Drugs 'n' Dissonance' creeps into life as a thunderstorm of
white noise, out of which a cold-rave pulse somehow metastasizes into something resembling techno, although this is a deformed, uncivilized, unwanted mutation, separated at birth & raised in a toxic wilderness. It builds slowly before turning up in a rage of digital distortion, a black metal dub party held at the edge of a melting glacier. 'Oh, Empire of Roses' is a Dada Phycho Jazz Electro number. Dissonant synth chords snake around each other in a playful ouroboros of manic future funk, never knowing if it's starting or stopping, coming or going. Relentless bass throbs through the track, which almost threatens to bubble into classic acid electro before fizzling out. On side two there is 'Devotion to a Peacock Angel,' an angular breakdance groove for the characters in the bar scene in Star Wars. Electro dub rhythms keep stay grounded as everything else rips apart in all directions over the course of the track. On 'Misfortunes of El Dorado' a soundsystem bangs in the next room, only the deepest bass escaping, shaking reality until it's torn apart in waves of distortion, a classic techno synth string wandering over the top of everything in a full blown Techno Jazz Odyssey.
SQUIRRELS ON FILM continues its adventure at the edges of techno
with the mind bending stylings of Its Own Infinite Flower's debut EP,
fitted with another beautiful hand-drawn, full color sleeve by New York artist Bert Bergen. The Plumes of Love (ARE BLACK!).
A home grown product of the Frankfurt electronic scene, it’s only right that Michael Klein should find his way to Cocoon Recordings. After a string of releases on BLK DRP, Second State and Micro.fon, together with a DJ schedule that’s established him as a well known face on the European techno circuit, destiny has come knocking and the result is a two track EP that will blow the roof off even the most sturdy of clubs.
Thunder clouds gather on “Yuzu“ - a full-on dose of headstrong, slamming techno. Rampant hi hats, a rasping bass and a frenzied acid riff conjure up a deliberately disorientating electric storm that takes a certain amount of pleasure in battering the dance floor like a force ten gale. Plastik snare rolls dominate the breakdowns and whip-crack percussion prolong the audio beatings being dished out on this ‘next generation’ acid-techno.
Klein adds some extra bounce to the raw, pounding beats on “Eureka“, creating a cavernous backdrop that transports you back to the heyday of E-Werk. Then, it’s all aboard the night train as the sounds gradually morph into some kind of demonic locomotive, hissing and spitting out fire and smoke as it cuts a path through the darkness, hurtling full throttle into the abyss where atmospheric tempo changes to the main motif add an extra dimension of mayhem to proceedings.
Warning! Like a surfer waiting for the seventh wave you either rise to the occasion, get on top of these tracks and ride them ecstatically to the shore or you’re gonna find yourself crushed by the relentless power and energy of Michael Klein’s music... and that’s just the way we like it.

Stroboscopic Artefacts releases ‘X – Ten Years Of Artefacts’, a 13-track album curated by Lucy, the nom de techno of Luca Mortellaro. It celebrates ten years of his label by boldly confirming its raison d’être: a continual redefinition of modern techno.
‘X – Ten Years Of Artefacts’ is a various artists album in which the label’s key artists respond to its tenth anniversary with fresh compositions. Artists with divergent perspectives and MOs are equally at home expressing themselves. These tracks’ timbres, tempos and moods differ greatly yet—somewhat improbably—they seem together, ideologically unified.
The album will be later complemented by a special remixes EP, with four new reworks of pivotal back catalogue material from the label (Donato Dozzy, Caterina Barbieri, Xhin and Klock). And from fall 2019, Lucy and an incredible cast of Stroboscopic Artefacts artists will begin an extended club tour to mark the anniversary.
On ‘X – Ten Years Of Artefacts’, Mortellaro features solo as Lucy, in collaboration with Rrose as Lotus Eater and together with Speedy J as Zeitgeber. (Rrose also appears alone with “The Myth of Purity.”) Shifted, Efdemin, L.B. Dub Corp (Luke Slater), James Ruskin, Denise Rabe, Adriana Lopez, Chevel, Alessandro Adriani and Serena Butler each feature, representing a group of singular artists whose relationships with the label range from years to months—Stroboscopic Artefacts’ past, present and future must exist simultaneously.
Back in September 2009, Lucy released “Why Don’t You Change/Dub Man Walking,” the first record from Stroboscopic Artefacts, which began a discography that, ten years later, is almost unparalleled in its ambition and vision. Put simply, Mortellaro wanted to create something that didn’t exist. Stroboscopic Artefacts would be respectful of, and indebted to, the great techno and electronic music artists of the past but would develop new paths forward for the label and the genre. The label refused to perpetuate the established dichotomies of electronic music — between the dance floor and home listening, between club music and experimental music, between the past and the future. It took risks knowing it wouldn’t always work. But within a year or so of the label’s inception, it was obvious Stroboscopic Artefacts’ approach had captured imaginations far beyond its Berlin base, showing us that the boundaries of techno are often constructs of limited imagination.
The label pursued constantly evolving methods of releasing music. It created concept-driven series like Monad, Stellate and Totem, establishing frameworks that would give freedom in limitation. Standout albums by Lucy, Xhin, Dadub, Zeitgeber, Chevel, Kangding Ray, Lotus Eater and Alessandro Adriani were deeply considered longform presentations.
With this new album, remix EP and tour, now is the moment for Stroboscopic Artefacts to look fondly at its past while drawing breath, reenergised, and hinting at new chapters.

Italy's Electrorites, holds a promising status among techno-heads. Having released with the likes of Decoy Records, AFU Limited & Morforecs - and simultaneously running his labels: Nightmare Factory Records, Shout Records, he now brings forth his latest project, Archives Vol.1 with his new label Structures Records.
Technological/ computer-esk sound semantics make up the infrastructure of Archives Vol.1. The application of effects, whether it's arpeggiated midis or filter distortion, adds a driving personality to each production - with the potential to not only mesmerise, but trigger primitive urges among lovers of the genre. Accentuation of coarse factors result in a full bodied synth lead that navigates the bulk of 001. Octave separations anticipate drama and leave mood to the imagination. Whether the track is experienced as dark or uplifting, it's sure to accelerate the energy of any early hour endeavor. Dextral maneuvers within the detuned arpeggio emphasise an aphotic hysteria within 002. Punctuated by a throbbing kick, dark landscapes of industrial chaos are brought to mind. Classic Layer exploitation is evident within the last production, 003. The automation of fades has been enforced in a way that teases the listener, intrinsic to the classic techno anthem.

Cherrymoon Trax are back on wax with the brand-new ‘House House House’ which takes us into the nu rave classics sound. Having produced so many fine cuts over the years, none more so than this monster, DJ Ghost and Youri Parker make up Cherrymoon Trax and they always have their finger on the pulse of the latest sounds. They’ve ramped it up a notch here, bringing their experience to the studio and hitting the sweet spot once again. As the resurgence of 12” vinyl continues, we decided to get this monster cut for the fans and collectors and it will be packaged in our new Bonzai sleeve design.
The Original Mix opens on the A-side and, right from the off we’re faced with a chunky kick drum and a deep, bubbling bass. Huge synth stabs and classic 303 licks inject energy into the groove as the track builds, climaxing with a mighty drop that will raise the hands in the air. On the B-side we have a tight remix from long-standing Cherrymoon Trax member Youri Parker with his Late Night Feeling Mix. Someone must have left him alone with energy lever, because he’s notched it up to maximum level. The beats are laced with a subby bass and the vocal hypnotizes your mind. The break unleashes a chest busting lead that winds up to climax with those thumping beats once again.

Following the release of their critically acclaimed second album, ‘Isles’, Bicep continue to develop their Feel My Bicep imprint with a 12” from a fresh signee, Fasme. The French producer makes his debut on the label with a new 3-track EP ‘Home’.
Fasme is the project of Tom Ferreira, who only dropped his first EP in April last year and quickly caught the attention of Bicep after discovering the track ‘ICI’ on YouTube. Bicep first played these tracks in their FMB Radio show on Apple Music and a Friday Guest Mix for Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6 Music.
His melodic sound is created on analog synths, evolving between acid, electro and braindance. Describing himself as “more of a live performer than a studio man”, Fasme will be supporting Bicep in Paris in October to celebrate the EP release.

Subosc Ltd is glad to announce a new vinyl release. Guido Camino,
aka Mental Resonance, presents four original cuts under his Forest
on Stasys identity.
“Astral Projection” presents a cosmonautical voyage with a strong
progression that constantly builds up. The rarefied atmosphere
included in the track, features an emblematic ritualism that is
interlaced with natural waves and layers.
“Expedition” follows a photonic pumping approach, featuring nontrivial and sparse drum patterns. The functional approach entails complex hallucinogenic stimulations.
On the flip side, “Lumina” proposes an explorative story with sparking elements that resonate and overlap with the different melodic layers, producing a pleasing hypnotic effect.
“Talisman” closes the package with a decompressive, magical
journey, that carries the listener into an imaginative dream-like
dimension made of natural landscapes.
The EP will be available as a vinyl only release, on a strictly limited
pressing.

To celebrate 20 since inception, Sven Väth’s Cocoon Recordings is serving up a special 15 track collection that brings together new and exclusive tracks from artists that have been a huge part of the journey. Presented as a deluxe 6 x 12" box set with a silver foil cover and paper insert with individual sleeves and luminescent paint, this is a suitably spectacular collection that pays homage to one of techno's finest operations.
20 years is a long time in any facet of life, but in techno it is eons. The genre evolves so quickly that staying relevant for even half that time is some achievement, so to still be recognised as one of the genre's most iconic and influential labels after such an extended period is testament to the vision of its founder Sven Väth. The popular character, much loved DJ and always innovative creative force started out with an early rave techno sound back in the late eighties that he has steered into much broader realms ever since. Thanks to carefully A&Ring a mix of red hot new talents and plenty of his original pioneering peers, Väth has ensured Cocoon has always covered all points of the spectrum: there have been hundreds of thrilling dance floor 12"s, a treasure trove of full length albums that have brought plenty of detail and depth to techno and multiple mix series including the annual Sound of the Season which distills Ibiza's latest trends into two vital CDs, and the annual alphabet compilations which showcase the label's finest moments.
Then, of course, there have been the parties, which have taken many forms over the years, from selfrun festivals like Green and Blue & Cocoon in the Park to carefully curated label nights at the world's foremost clubs via, most famously, their flagship and globally recognised Monday night parties in Ibiza at super clubs such as Amnesia. These very much introduced the White Isle to techno and in the 20 years since the first party have become family gatherings that have solidified the sound's presence on the island for ever more, thanks to the world class line ups, out of this world production, colourful characters and fantastical themes that have made each session so legendary.
Cocoon's unique brand of techno has always been at the heart for the operation and now, these brand new and exclusive tracks confirm that once again. Rampa kicks off with the jittery broken beat techno of '2000' and Emanuel Satie keeps the melodic vibes alive with his wistful 'Departure' and then Diynamic label boss Solomun serves up a rare new production 'We Will Never Have Today Again' which is a dramatic and epic groove with majestic synth work lighting up the bold drums. Gregor Tresher slips into a more slick and funky drum work out with 'Nostalgia (is The Enemy) and Joseph Ashworth's 'Eavesdrop' reaches for deep space with its distant synth swirls and astral atmospheres. Pig & Dan very much came of age through their releases on Cocoon and here offer an intense cosmic workout with ‘Trauma', while US legend Josh Wink keeps it deep and heads down with his gritty roller 'Nuclei.' Nachtamt’s third EP embodies the same grainy texture, contrasting transitions in mood and tone, and intricate percussive sequences that are becoming the trademark of Nachtamt as a label.
Noone’s return to Nachtamt begins with the astronomical Digital Observation (A1), a mind-bending amalgam of pounding kick drums, oscillating synth stabs and industrious hi-hats. The surging bassline at moments develops an acid-house like quality to it, at times subduing to make way for gritty soundscape.
The topically named Brexit (B1) spans a dubby bassline, a techno oriented percussive sequence, deep pads, melodic bleeps and glitches. This track is a continuation from Digital Observation’s stylistic use of aural texture to convey atmosphere and mood.
At 128 BPM, Andre Kronert’s Brexit for noone (B2) is a heavyweight remix of the EP’s B1. Portraying the same atmospheric mood, this remix substitutes the dubby bassline of Brexit (B1) for a hard-hitting kick drum progression to create an aural quality reminiscent of an after-hours warehouse party.

Amish Boy a.k.a. Sküge (not to be confused with Skudge) is Hugues Croibien, a thirty seven year old Belgian who has experimented with electronic music since his teens. With a diet of Seal Phüric, The Prodigy, Autechre and Unit Moebius stoking his primordial fire, Croibien began to align with the rage that exists in the Breakcore genre. Already an addict of reggae and dub at this time, Croibien decided to create some cut-up Raggacore with his brand new Ableton Live 3 software.
Meanwhile with friends, Croibien created 'Break n 'Brol', a non-lucrative association which tried to promote alternative electronic music in Liège where he lived. They premiered some Bassline stars "Kanji Kinetic" and "Squire of Gothos" on the Belgian scene, alongside other alternative electronic composers and musicians like Subjex, Ebola, Mustard Gunn and Herrmutt Lobby. The fellowship decided to create a free net label to release compilations with the BNB party artists.
The rough style techno resurgence over the last few years has precipitated a metamorphosis; Sküge became Amish Boy - more glitchy than techno, more offbeat than acid and more ambivalent than industrial. Although heavily invested for two decades now, 'Laika test Project' on Power Vacuum will be Croibien's first vinyl release, with a follow-up already in the pipeline.

Austrian hardware-only liveact Anml Mthr presents his 4th release on Florian Meindl's FLASH Recordings imprint and counts to the core artists of the label.
Heavily influenced by the Vienna and Berlin Techno scene of the 90s he was a regular visitor to Tresor Club as well as a shining raver at Gazometer Vienna.
His productions under different monikers in the genre underground dubstep and hardcore can be traced back until the late 90s, but with Anml Mthr he found a home to combine his rough subbass with driving and chellanging acid lines and synth sequences.
His unique hardware setup consists of a huge modular synthesizer as well as classic boxes like the 303 of course, but also modern boutique synthesizers and effect boxes which he performs all in one take to record his tracks.

Brain Pilot was made up of two brothers out of Belgium named Dimitri and Stefan Van Elsen, also known as Trans-4M (their iconic album Sublunar Oracles was recently reissued on Safe Trip).
In late 1993 they started to make tracks for a local label called Nova Zembla. Inspired by the IDM movement, UK, Detroit and European techno sounds having roots deep into the Belgian scene, they forged thru three full-length releases as well as an EP from 1994-1997.
Four releases, virtually unknown to most outside of their country, accurately predicting the future while expressing the more current timeless sounds of the underground. Styles came and went.
Fashionable genres ran circles – they come and go.
Fast-forward to now and history beckons for the quality of the old days … Brain Pilot’s sound is as relevant than ever.
22 years after their final release, Kalahari Oyster Cult has chosen some choice cuts off of each release and spread them out over a 2 piece vinyl anthology. Most of these appearing on vinyl for the first time. It starts out with four songs from the debut self-titled album. ‘C.N.S’ immediately shows off the balance of Brain Pilot.
Futuristic techno, timeless melodies and beat patterns influenced in IDM. ‘Feel Real Good’ continues this signature in referencing classic post-Detroit style with current UK intelligence while keeping that Belgian post-rave attitude. Embracing new styles like in ‘E.E.G.’ , it’s like listening to a Tri Repetae track from Autechre.
This mechanical jitter is a great segue into their second album’s featured tracks such as ‘Serotonine Flow’ , the otherworldly ‘Brainsine’ and the addictive robotic funk in ‘Nutrient’.
The anthology completes with Brain Pilot exploring an even deeper scientific sound with examples like ‘Wet-Wired (First Wiring)’ and ‘Substantia Electronica’. The track ‘Disconnect’ and the previously unreleased ‘Shifting’ bring listeners to the realm of 150bpm late-night rollers. When you dig for music you always want to recognize unknown gems and give them a new life.
The allure and celebration of finding and rediscovering electronic music that slipped thru the cracks are one of the most rewarding feelings a music lover can have. Kalahari Oyster Cult has presented that for us on a silver plate. Brain Pilot – a most fitting name.

Downwards’ rum gang of industrial misfits mutate My Disco’s ‘Environment’ album in slow, brutal and hypnotic styles ranging from Karl O’Connor’s smudged gamelan rework as Cub, to a 16 minute stunner by Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement (Prurient & Low Jack)
‘Environment Remixes’ serves to tie up a 10 year loop since Karl O’Connor (Regis) first became rapt with My Disco’s 2010 single ‘Young/You’, which lead to him remixing the Aussie band’s song ‘My Decade’ in 2016, and eventually issue the reverberating clang of their ‘Environment’ LP on his Downwards label in 2019. For the remix suite, they’ve picked a gang of manacled producers to reanimate the album’s cranky mania and classic industrial spirit with suitably bruising results.
The swingeing, stygian flow of Karl O’Connor’s Cub remix of Equatorial Rainforest’ returns a big highlight,
possibly the project’s very slowest and loaded square between the eyes of early ‘90s Coil and 23 Skidoo, while Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement’s 16 minute take on LP centrepiece ‘Act’ follows that humid line to a frighteningly strong scene of cicadas and crackling neon sleaze sloshed with martial kettle-drum rolls recalling Con Schnitzler’s ‘Conditions of The Gas Giant’, before slipping into the lushest ambient techno mode.
Following the rush of his recent records, Sam Kerridge renders the doomy beckon of ‘Rival Colour’ more tentatively, stalked with spare drums and lugubrious bass, and Bristol’s Giant Swan follow a hunch for lurching halfstep on their reduction of ‘An Intimate Conflict’, for Oliver Ho to amp the phosphorus guitar burn of ‘1987’ as Slow White Fall with the sort of noisy conviction that also makes his new album such a zinger.

Oscar Muleros contribution to the Token catalogue goes all the way back to 2008. The ferocious Take Seven EP was the start of a longstanding partnership between the label and artist. Between this first release and the more recent Suborbital Trajectories EP, Mulero also provided Token with 2 releases as Spherical Coordinates, producing sophisticated big room and bleep tracks. Through his lengthy and prolific career, Mulero has not contented himself with producing dancefloor tools alone. The full-length Perfect Peace, released in March this year on Semantica, demonstrates this well, with Autechre and Aphex-flecked IDM and electronica sounds dominating the work. The new Electric Shades EP also has elements of this extra depth. The record opens and closes with sci-fi theatrics: Electric Shades throbs and pulses under eerie space atmospherics, while Dying Asteroid sonically details the demise of a small celestial body in clinical detail. But this record also operates with the solid functionality of Muleros earlier work. The Voyage is agitated and bleepy, while heavy roller Signal Trace plays deeper with similar themes. Triad and Extension too are weighty highlights, affording the record plenty of utilitarian benefit for DJs and home listening enthusiasts alike.

The birth of Mindri, a new Pinkman sublabel run by Afra & Marsman. The first release by Pluto Junkies, a collab project between Ernestas Sadau, Rapha & PRZ goes straight into the alley of mind bending and stomach swirling releases. Drenched in 90's retro-futurist electro spirit, Flying Spaghetti Monstership is what you would call a secret weapon at a rave. Fuelled with ferocity and seasoned with nostalgia, it feels like hedonist nights and forgotten conversations in crammed basements.

Riccardo Mazza is a hidden master of the Italian experimental music scene, a scene that has been extremely important since the late 70’s or so. Coming from that background, he has besides his actions as his solo crusade RM, also been active as member of filth noise outfit Lettera 22 (with Matteo Castro, owner of the label Second Sleep). As RM, he is freely surfing between old school industrial, futuristic techno for space base nightclubs, ambient music fitted for abandoned factories and a kind of timelessness that inspires and resonates

Thinktank return to Stepback Records with another colony of underground styles. Hive Mind Mentality further expands on the diverse, unique in your face club tracks that Thinktank have made a signature of their sound.
First up on the A side is Them. Budding entomologists Vinnie and The Leph aka Thinktank have unearthed what some might say as Sci-Fi Classic Techno of The Atomic Age. Underpinned by a Sheffield style Bass crawl coupled with Bleeps that will crush any dancefloor. This is the electronic sound of nature running amok.
Burrowing further on the B side STW serves you Techno in it's most creative form - synth led with a sick groove and huge drum rhythms.
Last but not least - Waaaassps DG is a classic Thinktank track with a sting in it's tail. Snapping, clapping, alive and kicking. You will be buzzing when the break-beat drops.

After a short hiatus, Self Defence Records is back with a vengeance and unleashes a powerful 2-tracker on the dancefloor. Backslash is the new project of Alessandro Bocci, aka M16. First up is 'Cold Fusion Technology', a solid techno cut that hits the middle between throbbing dark atmospheres and chord driven deepness. The track instantly pulls you into its mental and dark pounding rhythm only to gradually make you move to its grooving and infectious chord stabs. 'The End of the Weekenders' adds a lighter touch to the whole. Uplifting strings and nicely crafted chords bring back memories of joyful dancefloor experiences. The perfect secret weapon to bring back the joys of dancing to techno.

With two standout singles under their belt, Fur Coat now deliver their highly anticipated 12 track album, ‘Polyphony’…
‘Polyphony’ is a term specifically chosen by Fur Coat to emphasise the celebratory concept behind their new album. “Firstly, poly means many, and we are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year,” explains Sergio, “so it was important we reflected that milestone in some way. Beyond that we wanted to create a project with many layers that captures the perfect spectrum, ranging from experimental sounds through to more familiar dancefloor tracks. Whether blending a cinematic feeling, infectious groove, indie vocal or slower BPM electronica, we used multiple layers and patterns to create a textured, forward thinking soundscape. ‘Polyphony’ really does say it all in a single word.”
To further the theme of ‘many’, Sergio and Israel also open up their studio, inviting friends in. From the haunting, indie beauty of ‘Hurricane’ with Running Pine (already a Beatport chart topper), to infectious melodies created alongside Julian Wasserman, Hunter/Game and Sly Faux, or Delhia De France’s seductive vocals, the duo generously and effectively demonstrate the benefit of collaboration.
This is not to say their dedicated compositions should be overlooked, quite the opposite, which they are rightfully proud to point out, “This is our second album and we really wanted to deliver something that showed our musical influences and the evolution of the Fur Coat sound. We’ve come a long way in the past decade, with many more years yet to come - the future is undoubtedly polyphonic!”

Bearing the torch of a new generation West Coast artists, The Hague based Pasiphae comes through with a haunting four-tracker on Pinkman. Weaving the accents of horror with the ambience of hope, 'Possessed Realms' offers a trip through desolate terrains of restless minds. The haven of the night congregates the wrecked ones and hope tainted with misery turns the grimness into light. The idea of finding comfort and rejuvenation in the dark is liberated, opening broad horizons for creation. While our future might be uncertain, the present is ripe for Pasiphae.

Token preps new compilation, Fuga, featuring Nastia Reigel, Dold, Mark Broom & more.
The eight track release introduces a brace of new and breaking names to the Belgian outlet, and zeroes in with particular clarity on the label's by now keenly defined aesthetic - classic, uptempo Techno from the purist end of the genre.
As ever with Token releases - the devil remains distinctly in the detail. Each recording, hand-picked and road tested in a club environment - some for over a year, offers up its own unique and nuanced take on contemporary Techno. The label's penchant for picking up on the Best in Class shines through, with all parties bringing their strongest work to the fore.
Rising Russian star Nastia Reigel continues a rich vein of form on opener, Pray. In equal parts hypnotic & hard-hitting, the versatile work sets the tone for Fuga, which continues with tripping contributions from Border One & Stefan Vincent - the latter of whom turns in a compilation highlight in the form of Fever Dream. Sweden's Dold makes an appearance with heady work My Homework Ate My Dog, and PTTRN features with stunning, big room recording Contempt / Suggest 6 - a cast-iron reduction that pulses and warps across its run time. Ribe's offering The Cause showcases a tentatively more drawn in approach, focusing on groove & tone to great effect, before Fuga returns to the high octane intensity of Linkan Ray's Introspective Vision. Veteran Mark Broom closes proceedings in considerable style with AR-4, a neat and satisfying tool that showcases the very best of the genre - sharp, effective and economical.
Fuga presents a focused and refined showcase of the Token sound in 2020. The compilation highlights the label's dedication to the classic tenets of the Techno genre, but at the same time draws attention to its role as a conduit for new talent to receive the exposure it deserves without artistic compromise.

Chomp! Chomp! is a new label by Brooklyn based DJ/producers Timo Lee and Mark Chittom. Together they are long-standing members of the dance music community, both in Hawaii at DJ Harvey's Thirtyninehotel and in Brooklyn at Good Room. The label's focus is eclectic dance music created by underground dance producers, aimed at DJ’s and casual fans alike. The first EP - Chomp! Chomp! presents the debut of Golden Mammals - a collaboration between Eric from America and Chittom. Eric is a multi-instrumentalist and electronic producer with a unique style that pulls from a variety of genres. He is also an active drummer for TV Baby (with members of A.R.E. Weapons), as well as several other bands in New York and past projects in Hawaii. The EP has three original tracks and a remix. "An Hour a Day with You” blends acid house and techno with an obscure leftfield vocal by Chittom. The remix is a dubby techno slow-burner that will work in a variety of settings. On the other side, with two tracks by Eric from America, "At the Met Gala" & "For the Crowd” are two groovy techno-ish tracks with Eric’s unique touches - both are dancefloor and living room friendly. The EP is mixed by Justin Van Der Volgen and Kenji Shimoda, mastered by Rick Essig of REM Sound. Artwork by Dusty Gibbons.
Support by DJ Harvey, JKriv, Juan MacLean, Each Other (Justin Strauss & Max Pask), Facets and more. This record is dedicated to our beloved friend Mychal McCurdy. Mike was always our biggest supporter and we miss him dearly.

After Brexit, we thought it would be a brave attempt to snatch the Queen's interpretational sovereignty over the colour purple. So, we have named our new record just like that. Of course, this is only half the truth, as we named all six other UV050 compilation records after colours as well. The purple one, this one right here, is the second to last, completely with the wonderful artwork by Leipzig's Doppeldenk and four tracks to dance your ass off to. Krakow's Chino shows us how to balance perfectly between straightforward urgency and mystic playfulness. His acidic FORBIDDEN VOICES sports just the right amount of chaos to make you go crazy on the dancefloor. Being a spiritual brother for a long time, it's actually the first time Berliner Johannes Albert releases on Uncanny Valley with his VISION UTOPIA, a subtle House bomb, that pushes just the right buttons to trigger your desire to escape into cosmos. Also from Berlin comes Lake People, who does what he does best with ROAMING THE STREETS: A subtle and razor-sharp track that points out that good dance music can sweeten your life everywhere, not only in the club. Finally, RVDS, one of Hamburg's finest, blesses us with MOON OPERATOR, a deep and masterful dive into sonic sceneries that no one has ever listened to before. Except of course for your expert friends, who claim to have heard even the most obscure dreamy Acid track.

DJ Deep's new 'Raw Cuts' series builds on the success of the first volume with a second four track offering that once again shows off his versatility. DJ Deep is a master of house and techno that drives you forward but also boasts real character. The Deeply Rooted label boss has been perfecting his style for two decades now, as well as offering more eclectic sounds with his Worldwide FM Radio show and collaborative work with Roman Poncet. Here, though, he has his sights on the dance floor with four more timeless tracks. 'Head Up' kicks things off with a dubbed out track that locks you in a circling groove amongst soft shakers and deft sound designs. It's perfectly stripped back but absorbing house then 'Swinging With The P' ups the ante with a tense minimal house vibe that has edgy effects and a paranoid sense of mood. Always rooted to infectious drums, it's another masterclass from Deep. Things get more wild on 'Porte', a prickly acid track that layers up chattering claps, 303s and urgent drum work into something designed to pump the club at the peak time. Last but not least, 'Corridor Rodeo' is a loopy dub techno epic that manages to hit hard while also offering plenty of subtle details to keep you locked. Bridging the gap between house and techno with his usual style, DJ Deep's 'Raw Cuts' series is already proving essential.

Scanning Backwards, Phase Fatale’s second full-length album following his 2017 debut album for Hospital Productions, is music about control. Using the connection between weaponized sound and psychological manipulation as a conceptual foundation, Hayden Payne explores the ways in which music – and sub frequencies in particular – are used to influence thinking and to synchronize emotions and behavior: from military technology to sound systems and the physicality and sexuality of queer techno culture.
Known for his innovative post-punk takes of dance music as featured on EPs for unterton and Ostgut Ton, the Berghain resident draws on his background as both a guitarist and sound engineer to create a heady mix of broken rhythms, noise-, and shoegaze-inflected techno, often at slower tempos. The result is music with space and pace to expand, highlighting the intense rushes of frequencies found in both sonic warfare and functional dance music. Over eight tracks named after a combination of historical and fictional narratives from literature and science fiction, Payne’s rhythmic excursions explore different manifestations of sound as power – specifically within the context of seeing Berghain as an instrument itself. This is also reflected in the album artwork, taken from an early flyer for the SNAX party series and an obvious ode to the fetishization of power dynamics.
In his own words: “All tracks on the album, no matter the style, were tailored to sound a certain way in Berghain – something I figured out through years of dancing in the middle of the floor, DJing as a resident and investigating what frequencies really penetrate the body. This includes speech and high-frequency, brain-penetrating instrumentation and drilling textures that I had not utilized so often before, but which I think also have an effect on thought and memory. It's especially true in a space where gay and fetish roots combine with music in unexpected ways, almost in a cultish manner. A musical and physical deprogramming and reprogramming, psychic driving and de-patterning, the erasing and replacing of memories.”
Ultimately, Scanning Backwards surveys not only the manipulative properties of electronic music (mantras, loops, subliminal messages) but also how rhythm facilitates both moving and thinking in synchrony; a pulse of coordinated sound- and brainwaves.

Popping The Cherry of 2020’s latest modern-contemporary record label; Step Ball Chain, is Roza Terenzi with “Stylish Tantrum”. Suggestive title to set the tone; the 5 track EP insisting sharp, sassy, high-tempered bombs with full bodied bounce. Unexpected tempo and timing variations, flared-up bpms, half time drum cuts and slicked modular flourishes, Terenzi’s signature cheek ramps up to an extra twisted club climate, atmospheric and evocative in texture as always. Featuring collaborations with D. Tiffany and Saoirse, the release covers extended dancefloor territory, assertive anthems delivering femme finesse, choreographed to perfection.
The A side fires up with an exuberant 4-by-4-2-the-floor routine, Cosmology. Vocal cuts from the queen Fiorella, billowing bells and dramatic synthetic sweeps to form fluidity over the tight bouncy low end. Whilst flirtatious melodic notions come and go, zip-lock percussion and commanding drumwork hold it down; squeaky steeze not-so-politely letting you know what’s to come. Deceivingly dubwise introductions soon furiously interrupted with Stylish Tantrum. Ricochet rhythms and bone breaking clap backs echo around your head, electrifying percussive fills and vocal spills snatching your attention before the everything glues together vicious harmony, baseline pulsating underneath a whiplash drum display - one for the dangerous deejays.
Chosen Family Feud opens the B side, a collab with seasoned associate D. Tiffany, showing off a bossy stomping brigade. Mumbling voices, waspy sirens and spooked out synth lines haunt the beginnings of the track, stripping back to a bassline breakdown before wailing vocals and clattered percussion take over, cymbals bursting. B2 is a moment to reflect, Illusions brings the energy down, low slung metallic backbeats thrown over encompassing, effortless pads and soaring resonance. The downtempo atmosphere crept up on by a double time d’n’b re-jig, softly gliding in over the growling sub, chopped breaks reflecting and falling. Closing out the record is another joint effort, recorded in Melbourne with Saoirse; Sxc saloon dashing back to the dancefloor, hot and deep. Throbbing bass married with slick galloping drums, sensuous fleeting whispers looping to draw you into hypnosis before a climactic tempo plummet intended to turn heads. STEP01 is kicking its heels up, stomping, strutting and trailblazing for what’s to come.olog

Delsin turns its attention to the archives of one of the great early pioneers of Dutch techno - Eevo Lute Muzique. The label was founded in 1991 by Wladimir Manshanden and Stefan Robbers (who was already recording seminal early techno records as Terrace for Djax-Up-Beats). Channeling the inspiration of the Detroit originators and mixing it up with their own synth pop and new wave influences, Manshanden and Robbers (adopting the Florence alias) forged a bold aesthetic with Eevo Lute, both musically and visually. This was an early iteration of techno as listening music, with an emphasis on expression and narrative over dancefloor functionality, helped in no small part by Manshanden's striking poetry. This double set of remastered, reissued tracks gathers together the earliest Florence and Wladimir M. material, largely recorded between 1991 and 1994, across five discs - the definitive document of a treasured piece of Dutch techno history. Comes with inlay and liner notes by Oliver Warwick.

The second part of two additional EPs in Delsin's Eevo Lute re-issue program includes a full 45 rpm cut of the Wladimir M. classic 'Evil'. On the b-side a fresh and drum heavy interpretation of 'Planet E' by Skee Mask. With almost non of the original parts available Skee Mask turns Wladimir's vocal lines up side down and transforms it into a 140 bpm breakbeat monster. Closer of the EP is the strong and emotive 'Disappointment' track, for first time on a vinyl single.

The next releases on Eotrax will round off a busy 2018 for the label and set out an exciting proposition for a future way of working and releasing music. In what will be an ongoing, curated collaboration series artists will be invited to make work together for the label, without restrictions on genre, style or aesthetics. An open environment of collaboration and experimentation which will then be released by the label.
To launch this series label head Eomac teams up with four different artists over four slabs of vinyl, to be released sequentially over four months. The collaborations are improvised and composed, wild and emotive, unexpected and expected and all of them resulting in music that would never have been made by either artist individually.
Third in the series is from Mexican producer, film director and Motus Records owner Demian Licht and Eomac. Over two tracks they have a created a rich tapestry of of disparate ideas that manage to flow and move together harmoniously. The A-side 'VV Cephei' combines processed choral samples with rhythms at different tempi to paint a picture of far off galaxies, light particles travelling forever through space. The B-side 'Algol' continues this trajectory into the deepest, darkest reaches of known and unknown universes.
With records already out from Paula Temple and Seán Carpio, the series will close in December with the final chapter from sonic renegade Kamikaze Space Programme.

Chicago's modular master is back, this time with some heady, heavy tripping tunes for the dancefloor. On the A side, 126_Marginal bounces on with timeless cosmic electro; 126_Never The Same takes a slightly more reflective approach to melody, but continues to propel with weighty sub-bass heat.
Next up is a very special treat, rallying up some top-notch producers from Figure‘s extended circle. In a massive remix package, these artists have compiled their efforts to deliver singular takes on Len Faki‘s ‘Robot Evolution’ off the label‘s recent anniversary compilation FIGURE 100. Benjamin Damage manages to mine the original track for its raw essence, harnessing a rough and lively, yet streamlined high energy track. The clever rework of Charlotte de Witte shows off her deeper side, providing a submerged feel while not losing focus of the floor and sprinkling in the acid stab for good measure. Emika‘s creative interpretation is pairing her bread and butter – pulsing sub-bass and battering grime-style synth-arps – with a completely new vocal dub. Her fresh fusion of genre-specific tropes serves as a delightful surprise and is one to make the heads turn. Jensen Interceptor turns in exactly the kind of fast-moving, tightly grooving, no-nonsense electro that we‘ve come to expect from the prolific producer. Straight up and honest, a true Drexciyan descendant. Galloping and hopping, it‘s the Midnight Operator-remix that paces at breakneck speed yet luckily offers some great breakdown moments to catch your breath before they hammer it home on this stuttering full-throttle ride. Creativity abound, this package proves a worthy successor to the original track, and has helped the robot evolve all of its model‘s specific features!

Moda is kicking off the new EP on the Deeptrax label (DPTX-006). Big large suburban club tracks in flashing DIY style from this already acclaimed DJ/ Producer from Sweden. Banging the room with filthy lo-fi dance, groomy grimey basslines and stabbing 90's rave sounds combined with clever aquatic accents for that perfect party mood. Dirty subliminal sounds riding the hard rolling rhythms..... This one goes hard and deep.

Electronic music label Sheik 'N' Beik announces SNBV012 the 'Vaadhoo' EP from Mr. Dello. This EP is the second release in series aimed at celebrating the diversity and history of New York and its boroughs.
As Sheik 'N' Beik's hometown and source of constant inspiration. The label focuses the spotlight to pay homage to the Five boroughs of New York including Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island and The Bronx. Each boroughs flag is given a modern and colorful twist via the cover art and design of each outer jacket. The first release in the series, Manhattan, featured local NYC heroe and co-founder of Voodoo Down Records, N'conduit.
The new EP from Mr. Dello is an example of dedication artistic freedom. Three different and powerful slices of contemporary techno, Mr. Dello explores the deeper, darker recesses of his psyche drawing on emotions, moods and feelings to portray his vision. With his own history seeped in Greek mythology, he is no stranger to celebrating civic pride, and the 'Vaadhoo' EP packs plenty of punches from the Kathisma resident. 'Maureta' powers into life with insistent low end and spacey sonic nuances, making way for deep pads to lift the mood. 'Aige' features some exceptional drum programming and a repeated vocal sample to whip the crowd into a frenzy, and finally, the title track 'Vaadhoo' utilizes a solid bassline and clicky percussion to create an energetic conclusion. SNBV012 is available for purchase online at sheiknbeik and records shops on September 29, 2017.

SBIRE begins. The newly founded label is curated by Swiss artists Isolated Lines, known for his edgy and razor sharp productions (on Tommy Four Seven's 47, among others), and Gaspard de la Montagne, who has been perfecting his sculptural and curiously optimistic vision of techno through his EPs on Creaked. SBR001 is a well-rounded compilation from their inner circle spanning from Grime over Raw House to Techno.
The opening transmission is from La Vie C'est Facile: A colourful and unpredictable, broken-beat cut that fuses elements of instrumental grime and hip-hop with a striking melody and spacious production. Gaspard De La Montagne (as GDLM) takes a more direct approach: His track builds slowly with a swing to the beat, leaving cavernous bass reverberations and stretched out, droning pads to pull you further in.
Isolates Lines' 'Lift' picks up where the A-side left off, mining a similar groove to GDLM's 'Larson' to equally stirring effect. The drums skip around a rubbery bassline as the track phases with sleight of hand progressions. Ockham & Soloporunbesso's fine contribution brings a Detroit edge to the record, closing it out on the crunch and sci-fi squelches of 'Hanche'. It ends a bold and neatly-executed EP that promises high quality and signals to the diverse intentions of the label.

Tiny Planet is back in business, Volume 3 returning to the geographical roots of Planet Euphorique. Four genre expansive tracks, hot-off-the-press Canadian content bringing all new artists to the PE sphere. The record is split from East to West, Montreal to Vancouver, providing an array of audio delights primed for diverse dance experiences.
Starting in Montreal, the A side hosts a deep, sensual dripping opener, “Gutted Honey Dew Project” by duo Mutually Feeling. Steady, rolling breakbeats slung behind melt-in-your-mouth vocals of silk, the blooming bassline forming a modern day classique. The flirtatious essence carries to the A2 with Pascale’s “Fly Zone”, bubbling into an irresistible, bouncy analog jammer. Lights flashing; surging stabs of colourful harmony. A sleek, smooth and playful track ordering you to la discotheque stat!
Heading West to the B side, the mood swing is sinisterly jacking in Vancouver. Sludge laden “Are You Done Yet” by Overland showcases a hot and distorted acid hypnosis, weaving in and around a driving repetition of drum-work, deceptively low tempo for the momentous percussive progression and evolving sonic squelch. Sigsaly busting in to finish it off with the fully fledged hammering techno hit you needed, “Carve” B2-big room, XL rhythmical head-rush. Stomp to the beat!

Extrawelt are busy this year and a buzz for their new music already exists so we are exited to release their brand new EP for Traum.
Their opening track "Mr Wednesday" is probably one of the most adrenalin packed tracks we have heard for a while. The track is a beast of a techno track constantly changing its color in a pace that pushes you to the limit. Don’t you think the break will give you relief, the opposite is the case... the break here seems to spark off new energy. Extrawelt do what they do best by letting their synths speak in a human syntax! And man how upset "Mr Wednesday" is! Raging with anger this track goes berserk and cries out loud. This is techno with its original message to shake off the dull skin of everyday life offering a parallel more personalized world. This is a topic which could not be more up to date.
The second track "Little We Know" is nothing less than a rocking bass-line funketeer but draws more on a melancholic state at times. But since we know Extrawelt it is not for long until they drop an uplifting sick theme in retaliation. This track is an emotional rollercoaster by any definition. And it has the surprise at its side for example you will suddenly hear a melodic theme which you would like to hear in a new episode of Dr WHO !? It is very clear by now that Extrawelt are full of creative ideas and could probably make a stunning bass drum out of a banana.
The third and last track "SEM" features a flow of heavily changing sequences but more in a way that sees the sound settle down, as we know it from dub music. Which is a good thing to do after two tracks that are tempo reflecting trax. Having said this Extrawelt spit out a machine made hi-hat pattern that elevates also this track towards techno madness. If you have ever seen one of Extrawelt’s live acts this EP very much verifies that. The flow of energy they generate can be highly addictive.

Following up her 2018 EP ‚Which One Of Us Is Me‘ on Figure, Lady Starlight once again tames her hardware for some wild, live and direct cuts. These four tracks of unprocessed, unadulterated machine techno are some of the freshest analog output available these days, with acidic undertones tinging the record in a slightly old school flavor.
Starlight still leads way in a highly condensed and to the point way of producing, where simplicity rules and basic elements carry all the tension necessary. Clever arrangement and little filter tweaks are all that‘s needed for maximum rave energy and reveal the hand of a true master of her craft.
Unknown Berlin area label/producer RECYCLED makes an outstanding debut release. Classic soundings, perfect structure and a styling that clearly makes reference on oldschool Techno. The record means busyness from the beginning with the floor heater Industries, followed by the steady firm beats Block. In B Side, Energy is probably the strongest track on the release and Skynet brings some chords and colors, adding class and deepness to this awesome 12".

Heavyweight LP Picture Disc in a Deluxe PVC bag with flap.
The album opens with an abandoned soundtrack to a recent Hollywood movie, leading into an expansive score for Dutch National Ballet which premiered at the re-opening of the Stedilijk Museum Amsterdam in front of Queen Beatrix, with synths and live strings offering a sinuous melancholic path.
Side Two explores a deep sense of intimacy and reverberant space. Baltik Kitlab introduces a throbbing variation on chamber techno, with soft shuffling rhythms. The album concludes with a contemplative, cloistered and emotional piano piece, Dead Letter Office, with a strong emotional pull.
It’s music that is tender, elegant and heartfelt. The Signal of a Signal of a Signal is a mature work of contemporary electronica from an artist who has been re-inventing himself for nearly the last thirty years.
The Signal of a Signal of a Signal was originally released in an extremely limited CD box set on Touched Music in December 2019. It was accompanied by new albums from FSOL, Locust, Anders Llar and others. The box set sold out in 10 minutes and raised more than £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support in the UK. Interest in the album continued and so here is a special edition on heavyweight vinyl in deluxe PVC bag with flap, with all new artwork. It’s an exceptionally personal and fragile release, woven in with the deaths of his entire family to cancer. The album is both a rhetoric of mourning and a celebration of music to empower.

The Empire Line unleash their demons on 'BAS009'.
When Jonas Rönnberg (aka Varg), Christian Stadsgaard
(part of the Danish duo Damien Dubrovnik, co-founder of Posh Isolation) and noise artist Isak Hansen combine their musical vision, the result is sure to be radical.
Claiming that „the nature of your oppression is the aesthetic of our anger“ right away in the title, the four-track EP sounds like it was recorded straight from a sweaty basement.
Combining cascading rave tropes with noise, anger and punk, this release merges different underground currents. The result is a flamboyant, nevertheless harsh sound collage.

Since becoming a Berghain resident in 2017, Dominick Fernow's risk-taking hybrid live/DJ sets as Vatican Shadow have become conduits for infusing techno with contrasting musical ideas - from noise, industrial and ambient to distorted melodies and rhythms that push the club's borders in unexpected ways.
It's an idiosyncratic approach to techno rooted not only in Fernow's 25-plus years as an experimental and noise musician under more than a dozen aliases (e.g. Prurient, Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement) but also in his role as founder of the vital New York-based Hospital Productions, whose discography exceeds some 500 releases. The label - which in 2017 celebrated its 20-year anniversary - is also home to the majority of Vatican Shadow output to date.
Under that alias, Fernow's numerous albums and 12's (including 2017's Rubbish of The Floodwaters on Ostgut Ton) oscillate between ominous, distorted machine-funk, techno and ambient electronics; equal parts noise, melody and rhythm. Since 2011, the project's intentionally ambiguous visual identity has been defined by War on Terror-related imagery and track titles - and the media's role therein.
Both the Berghain 09 mix and accompanying exclusive 12's - featuring exclusive tracks by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Virile Games, Los Angeles Death Cult, Ron Morelli, Volvox, JK Flesh, Alberich, Ugandan Methods Prurient and Merzbow - reflect Vatican Shadow's composite musical influences and relationship to Berghain as a club. Stylistically, the two vinyls are divided between clubbier and experimental electronics, with vocal samples of Genesis P-Orridge acting as a bridge between the two. All tracks on Side D end in locked grooves.
As Fernow describes in his own words:
'My interest in DJing developed naturally out of industrial music traditions such as mail art, tape trading, and sound collage. While this mix, of course, does not solely focus on cassettes, they were used as the bridge between the seemingly disparate areas and cross-sections of underground electronic edits you will find sewn together from diverse factions to create a sonic 'cut up'. Accordingly, the artists featured with exclusive tracks span several continents and generations of electronic music subculture, from the birth of industrial in the UK and the rhythmic loops of Japanese noise, to the raw collision of genres found in the NYC underground. Berghain 09 is a tribute to the techno mixtapes that influenced me during my introduction to raves and dance music in the 90s.'

Seven Swiss artists & collectives sharing the same passion for music came together for a unique collaboration. The result is a sequence that evolves through rhythm and each contributor‘s colour of sound. Artists involved: Melodiesinfonie, Jack Pattern, Lexx, Look Like, Alma Negra, Manuel Fischer, Les Points.
If you draw a map of electronic music today, you will come to realise that Switzerland still represents a blind spot for many people. Even if you see from the inside the many talented artists romping about in such a small space, you have to admit that interest from the outside is virtually non-existent. Therefore there is only one way: Teamwork! The MEGAMIX is a statement for it.
Cape is back for Savor Music's 17th release. This time, one of our label owners, delivers a solid four tracker. Each of one them has a distinctive vibe making this release an unique piece of wax that could be played at different moments.
On this reference we can hear Cape creating a delicate balance of all his influences and travelling back again to his original signature sound. You can find a little bit of Detroit, Acid and electro tinged sounds and melodies, atmospheric grooves and super dynamic basslines.
Enjoy the beats!

Malin Genie is back with the second instalment in his immersive 12" project, Vixere. This edition kicks off with an instantly tougher demeanour compared to the supremely chilled first one, as witnessed by the straight-up tech thump of "Troglodyte Party". "Drek" teases things back down to a heady murmur with some squashed and subliminal minimal house for the back room crowd, while "Mastodon" brings back some of those vibrant industrial textures that stood out on "Duppy" from Vixere I/II. "The Foolish & The Senseless Alike" is a more chirpy, synth rich groover and "Bodie" closes this quality project out with a richly rendered ambient sound bath.

Utter presents the debut album ‘Taiyō’ by Vādin, a new collaborative project from Lucie Štěpánková (Avsluta) and Christian Duka.
They describe the record:
“Vādin is a shapeshifter formed through sound, a seismic energy. ‘Taiyō’ is Vādin’s first word. It was improvised and recorded in the Welsh wilderness over three days within a makeshift yurt studio using analogue and digital synthesizers, voice, location field recordings and amplified objects. ‘Taiyō’ is an entity emerging from the process of opening up, inviting, curiously exploring and being vulnerable; it is inspired by the flow of life in all its finite magic, intangibility and imperfection.
The album opens with the drizzling drone scenery interweaved with shivering whispers of ‘The Seven Laws’ followed by the disintegrated rhythms and warm ripples of ‘First Contact’. ‘Merging’ is a multi-layered organism of spiralling undulations, astral droplets and hypnotic pulsations while ‘The Forest’ narrates a sensuous connection with the world where the suggestive monologue and extra-terrestrial pearls float atop galloping liquid rhythms. ‘Sufi Trance’ is a slow-burning cyclone, an ecstatic rite, a hypnotic pilgrimage into the centre of the Sun - ‘Taiyō’ - which brings the journey to a stirring climax with its morphing drops and electrifying trills.”

The 2 songs are remixed by south London-based artist Klein (Hyperdub), and Tokyo-based
experimental hiphop musician Killer Bong (Black Smoker Records)
Mastered by Bunsho Nishikawa, who is known for his works with goat and Tenniscoats,
among others.
The ominous clockwork nursery song “Kazega Fuitara Sayonara” (Goodbye When The
Wind Blows) was originally written by Koichi Yamanoha and released under the name of
Grimm Grimm via Kevin Shields (My Bloody Valentine) and Charlotte Marionneau (Le
Volume Courbe)’s Pickpocket Records / Honest Jons in 2014.
London-based Tokyo-born singer-songwriter experimentalist Koichi Yamanoha has been
operating under the guise of Grimm Grimm since 2013. The project is an outlet for his
fragile, haunted, otherworldly forays into baroque folk, futurist lyricism and electroacoustic
oddities. His debut album, “Hazy Eyes Maybe”, was released by ATP Recordings in 2015. A
track “Last Word Is Mine” from the album was used over the end credits for the Aaron
Brookner / Jim Jarmusch directed documentary film “Uncle Howard” (2016), featuring
William Burroughs. His sophomore album, “Cliffhanger” was released in June 2018.
And currently the 3rd album has been mixed and co-produced by Marta Salogni.
The virtual 3D music video for Klein remix has been directed and edited by London based
film maker Kenichi Iwasa. He filmed the footage in Tottenham using Super 8, 3rd
generation iPhone and 4K Camera, and created the zero zone virtual world with glitchy SFX
work by William Cunningham. Iwasa is also known for his legendary Krautrock Karaoke
night as well as being a sought after collaborator throughout Europe.

New Techno offshoot from Still Music, Chicago.
"In a need for contemporary conversations with deeply admired artists , it has become a necessity to add a new imprint to the family of legendary labels founded by Jerome Derradji.
Still Techno is tailored to expose the artistry of known or unknown Techno producers throughout the world. Our first release is from absolute Detroit techno legend and long time friend, Mark Flash.
Mark Flash is an essential member of the Underground Resistance collective and a vital member of Galaxy 2 Galaxy, Timeline and Depth Charge with Mike Banks.
It is an absolute honor to have Mark launch our new label with his 4 track EP “Alkebulan”. This EP is an incredible set of contemporary Detroit techno.
The title track “Alkebulan” is a fantastic world hybrid tech joint. With “Dementia” and “Centraal Station”, Mark is honing back to familiar territories with productions reminiscent of his UR roots.
Finally, “Black Male Syndrome” closes the EP in an all Detroit electro tech fashion.
Let’s start our new conversation with Mark Flash."

* 'Limerence' is not only Misantrop's debut outing, it is also the inaugurating release of his own label Foul-Up.
* The sound pops out of an industrial mindset, but the title piece reverses out of garage/classic house that nods to 90s r'n'b. On 'Nocturnal Emission' friend Jon Marius Brogaard Aeppli's guitar solo is vogueing out on the floor, psychedelic rock meets psychotic blues by way of sheer UK sound.
* Featuring a wobbling bass on the techno-leaning 'No. 3' - adorned with a reference to classical composition in the cluster strings. 'They Don't Know' puts on a bit of electro, noise and some giallo synth arpeggiation. There's shine, atmosphere and a rather fascinating depth of field.
* 'Limerence' draws its inspiration from all over contemporary music and noise grounds - not wearing its 'influences' in the most opulent manner but well declaring its material with confidence. If the finished product doesn't have the uniformity of a proper industrial product, so much the better...
* Misantrop is out to change the way you listen to music, no matter how chaotic the journey is, showing off a vision that's both deeply human and richly transcendent.

Ot to not to is the experimental RnB recording project of Virginia natives Ian Mugerwa and Noah Smith - These are the remixes!
.
Ot to not to is the experimental R'n'B recording project of Virginia natives Ian Mugerwa and Noah Smith. In 2016, Mugerwa released the first Ot to Not to LP Goshen through Nicolas Jaar's OTHER PEOPLE imprint after being discovered by Jaar in 2015 while recording. Goshen was a very deliberate effort to create an R'n'B concept album that explored aesthetics and recording methods usually more associated with European experimental electronic music. More specifically, it was an effort to subvert tropes in pop R'n'B, whether those be the stereotypical, sterile cleanliness of radio R'n'B or the safe themes and song structures. Forthcoming LP "It Loved to Happen" will be released March 1 and is preceded by a remix 12 featuring abstract interpretations of tracks by Xiu Xiu, Carlos Nino, Ben Chatwin & Machinefabriek.
Parallel 9 is one of Steve Rachmad's monikers, under which he crafts deep and slightly dubby techno. Tell us, exactly how long have you been waiting and longing for a new Parallel 9 EP! Well, we'll tell you, Dominus - the previous Parallel 9 EP on Music Man - dates from 2005, so a follow-up was long overdue. But it's there, so start getting over your excitement and put the needle on the record and go with the flow! This is class A material, from the master himself. Three full tracks and three tools, on one fine double pack. From Music Man, with love.

A module is a replaceable complex element in an overall system that forms a closed functional unit.
This complex element is his musical building block for his new release MODUL.
Several modules form a three track vinyl in best minimal techno manner.
The A side contains the track MODUL which is defined by a massive kick drum and a booming bass. Additional psycho elements turn the track into something freaky and kind of sick.
On the B side is the track QUADER. A fine little dance floor killer with a slight touch of tech house elements.
The second track of the B side is called IKOZA starting off a bit quiet but developing into something way more powerful than expected.8

An exquisite and meticulous selection of underground “techno-pop” bands that emerged during the 80’s in the United States. Each one of these acts is considered a cult, although several even only edited an EP or one single, a demo tape or just appeared on compilations.
A total of sixteen songs from eight bands. Some classic hits together with rare or even unreleased tracks. A compilation that will help many to discover a slightly explored side of alternative electronic pop music from America.

The consistently great Olympos series reaches its fifth installment with none other than Aphrodite on the credits. The goddess of love is a marquee booking in this celestial scene, so expectations for the beats she yields are high. "Aligenis" makes for a strong opening statement as lysergic layers of effects processing and sound design writhe around a snaking techno backbone. "Enalia" nudges down into a more subterranean sound without losing that attention to detail, before "Morpho" swerves towards electro-flavoured beats without breaking the shroud of mystery and studio proficiency at work elsewhere on the EP. "Pitho" possibly saves the best til last - a simmering, subliminal ride through atmospheric percussion for the Dozzy-devotee crowd to get lost in.

Deeper Audio Cuts is back from its 20+ years hiatus!
Scott Featherstone (Triform / Glorious Springtime / Beyond A Void) had been sitting on a treasure of unearthed gems from his early days of production. After supplying us with a massive deadstock of his early releases, DAC001, DAC002 and VOID1 he stored for more than 20 years in a closet, Scott then dug into his DATS and sent us a pendrive stuffed with almost forgotten tracks from those same years.
At that point we thought that kickstarting Deeper Audio Cuts again together with Scott was the next step into the right direction.
With the first release after the hiatus, we reissue one of Scott's most sought after records, 'Lemmon Grass - Itchy EP', co-produced with his then production partner Ben.
We've compiled this special limited edition of 500 copies that includes 2 coloured vinyl: a green lime 12' and a dark green 10', with the originals + previously unreleased versions and tracks.

Crazy tooth brush washin for the first track... acid suspense...
The second side opens with a martial acid mental tune, hidden an obsessing melody...
The EP finishes with Beatsch and a flangy tribe tune, very in the mood of some early Network23 productions. Sweet !

Asturian Jheal Bashta draws inspiration from one of the most energetic episodes of his region’s recent history, that of the mining protests, to conceptualize his new EP, a work entitled Shot To Diginity.
“Broken agreements and an uncertain future, this was the trigger that made the miners rise up again and return to the barricades,” explains the press release of this work that they describe as “root techno for discontented people.

The fifth record on New York Trax IMPORTS was produced by Le Talium who is a legend to any connoisseur of the obscure fringes of hard French electronics. “Inalterable” EP, as profound as it is abrasive, is a journey from otherworldly glitchy soundscapes all the way to a relentless hardcore maelstrom.
Lyric (Lyric Hood) delivers her debut solo release for M-Plant this summer.
Having joined her father, Robert Hood to become an integral part of Floorplan both on the road and in the studio a few years ago, the two have collaborated on the 'Victorious' album and all consequent Floorplan releases so it was only a matter of time before she was ready to step into the solitary spotlight.
Back in 2016 when Floorplan became a duo, she stated: "Music is in my soul, my blood, I eat and sleep beats, music, rhythms, it's in my DNA."
An early taste of her independent skills came in 2017 when she remixed 'Never Grow Old', but now it's time for Lyric to take centre stage with two original tracks. 'Nineteen', which just happens to be the age Lyric was when she first joined Floorplan, delivers elements of their signature sound but also provides an insight into the personal ideas that she brings to that mix. With a housey inclination, it's deep, funky and yet still tough. For the flipside, '11:11' delivers such a powerful Techno punch it must reflect her unique upbringing and tutelage.
On 'Nineteen / 11:11' Lyric easily proves the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but also introduces the world to her individual creative personality.

" Berlin-based Mancunian Setaoc Mass returns to his own SK_Eleven imprint with now the fourth outing. Confirming the label s emergant position as the home of purist, highly-distilled club weapons, See Through marries a muscle-bound groove to arching synth strings and sci-fi encentricities for a hypnotic juxtaposition, followed closely by Passive - another roller to completely loose yourself in. Flipping over, the producer explores a dystopian wasteland populated by cavernous reverb-drenched claps and a nagging, mutant synth chord, whilst Disrepair flaunts Coates budding trademark electro strut, with bellowing kicks, crisp snares and futuristic undertones all in check. n line with its concept of presenting a new generation of artists with distinctive sound identities, the second release on ara will come from Adiel. Following her latest « Cavallina » EP made in collaboration with Donato Dozzy, she returns with « Musicofilia », her first record outside her own label. Due on July 26 2019 on Kangding Ray’s new label, this EP will enthrall listeners with its intricate rhythms and captivating underlying melodies. Adiel delivered tracks which will suit a variety of spatio- temporal dynamics, while still crafted for the club. The repetitive motives are the EP’s core, pushing further Adiel’s research of hypnotic patterns and raw textures. « Musicofilia » conveys Adiel’s exploration of dissonances colliding with abrasive beats and soothing melodies. Adiel’s research behind this release is rooted in Oliver Sacks’ book « Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain » (2007) where the neurologist author depicts the cognitive effects of sounds, addresses the impact of repetition in music, and its power to move and heal us. « The Call » starkly highlights the wistful tone of the record, when « Vanishing » offers a dense soundscape underlined by an irregular rhythmic structure, leading to the title track, unfolding as an overdriven club jam. « Rednight », with its throbbing pulse, gracefully concludes this EP by channeling its melancholic, yet sharp spirit.

Trancemission over; Transmission begins. Delta Rain Dance is an experimental artist and label project delving into contemplative, and melancholic states, with a record that blissfully glides between ambient, and delicate-percussive, electronic states. A hybrid puzzle of melodic cuts, DJ tools and drum tracks, that can be mixed together to create new amalgamations of the source material.
'Trancemission/Transmission' showcases a musical narrative that transcends genres and moods, switching between flashes of dubbed techno, abstract percussive electronica, and stark downtempo vibes.
'Trancemission/Transmission' is a record structured around progressions, heavy on sound design and imagination. It takes the listener into different astral planes, from tranquil moments of temperate melodies, to off-kilter periods of electro. Ghostly radio transmissions, dubbed out Rhodes, underwater frequencies, and broadcasts from beyond the digital ether. It is a modern take on 'Music for Airports', albeit written for a post-millennial audience, one that grew up on Dilla, Vatican Shadow, Grouper and Digital Mystikz. Drum tracks, locked grooves, and sparse sketches of melody and reverb soaked harmonies. Delta Rain Dance has produced a body of work that exists in two halves; the trancemissions operating as celestial, ambient skits; moments of dreamlike serenity, while on the flip, carefully programmed beats infer moments of Detroit, dubstep, and IDM, gently providing the framework to the album's intricate, grainy basslines, and saturated overtones. The two halves of the record can be mixed together, and like a puzzle that needs to be solved, tracks fit together perfectly, creating an interactive musical game, in which the DJ can create new sonic interpretations of the album.

Germany's rising newcomer DJ and producer Desroi will deliver his debut album on Semantica by early November. He has gained wide attention with his Dwell in Motion EP on Avian in 2018. Each artist has a special story to tell about their musicianship. Techno producer Desroi, who in every day life goes under the name Frederic Lindemann, has a relatively no-nonsense one. Observing from the outside, his production process seems to be one of tight structure and focus, holding great modernistic vision. Desroi studied Composition at Folkwang University of Arts - parallel to his already ongoing career as a DJ, producer and label owner - having graduated in 2018. His craftsmanship combined with a more theoretical academic view gives him a distinguished position on the scene. Desroi is curious about exploring the bridges between contemporary music and techno, and he recently said he is less interested in arrangement, melodies and harmony, and much rather focuses strongly on textures, rhythms and new sounds. Listening to his compositions these quotes makes nothing but sense; Desroi's techno is entrancing and layered but holds no unnecessary clutter.
The enigmatic DJ ICE TITS manifests yet again! The A1 cut is a dance floor monster with heaving, wet slabs of bass chopped with urgent vocals and sizzling percussion before moving into more emotional, melancholy, and sometimes strange territory. DJ ICE TITS is a reasonable person.

The 6th vinyl release on BTG sees a newcomer to the label and a relative newcomer to the scene taking the reins. In his short time on the electronic radar J-Shadow has already had releases on Nous Disques, Car Crash Set, PRIME, The Collection Artaud, eatmybeat, Dissident Sound and Dream Eater.
BTG006 sees a full showcase of his sonic array driven by rough bass, ghostly pads, acute percussion and influences from the entire electronic spectrum. Embers is a grimey monster that drives with purpose and energy from the very top, J-Shadows signature sounds instantly invade your ears as the track builds into a weapon capable of destroying any dance floor. The release then swoops down to a grizzly techno-esque stomper, with a slower build than title track “ Embers, The Awakening serves to show off this producers more subtle techniques that allow for an almost 7 minute journey into the belly of a Berlin beast. As if that wasn’t enough the final original on this EP “No Gravity”pays homage to the higher tempo sounds that BTG have been trail-blazing for some time now, a 160BPM pile-driver with murky bass, knifelike breaks and a wonky build that will keep the listener on their toes.
BTG006’s B-Side sticks to the remixing ethos of the label with two legends taking the helm. B1 is a Danny Scrilla flip of the title track Embers which needs no explanation, pure energy from the top and then Etch fly kicks The Awakening into a 123bpm air pumping foot stomping techno track designed to sub bass to destroy tower blocks.

This is the 13th release on RIOT Radio Records, an independent techno label based in Scotland.
Mickey Nox is a techno enthusiast, label owner, DJ and producer from Melbourne, Australia. His impressively unique style and attitude towards his constantly evolving productions and DJ sets is dark, menacing, and always maniacally exhilarating as he becomes progressively more entangled within his heavy hitting hardware.
This 2 x 12” vinyl has five original tracks and three insane remixes from a trinity of head bangers. Not only are all the original tracks on this release techno missiles solely intent on becoming club destroyers, but the additional remixes from Ayarcana, Myler and Ansome devilishly turn it into a weapon of true annihilation.

Token returns with the second instalment of Fuga.
Following on from Fuga I, which featured music from new and exciting talents alongside more established players within the genre, the label presents its next incisive entry.
Spread across eight tracks once more, the release continues in the same vein as its predecessor presenting a collection of reduced techno recordings in equal parts atmospheric as they are functional.
As a compilation the release develops gently - JRD's undulating workout Purple Blades opens proceedings, followed closely by Dutch Stalwart Deniro's crisp riser Silhouette. Sleek reduction Blush, courtesy of JSSL, continues this soft increase in intensity before ORBE's stylish, acid driven Motor opens things up properly into peak time territory. Argentinian Pfirter toys with big room kick drums and an outlandish rave lead on Cyclic Model, managing to deliver an occasionally misconceived combination with some considerable style - and Dustin Zahn turns in a compilation highlight with The Organ Trail, an incessant, heads-down workout. The Lady Machine keeps the energy up with Resilience, and Arthur Robert's closer Illegal Gatherings provides an off-kilter conclusion to the compilation release.
Fuga II provides a continuation of the motifs and constructions explored in the first entry, advancing them to some degree and introducing new characters to Token, whilst maintaining a sense of cohesion within the series itself, and the label as a whole.

FOR YOUR EARS ONLY
Straight through your veins - that's how we like techno and that's his prime discipline. Dave Tarrida once again proves his sense for legendary blunt techno sound. Without hesitating, he smashes out 4 tearing tracks as his new album release on Snork Enterprises.
It's like he unveils a relentless confession for genuine nonstop techno sound. Each of the 4 new tracks bears this dirty industrial feeling that turns the club into a rave cathedral. And you simply wanna pray for more. Plus, it will be the first vinyl release by Snork Enterprises with a freshly new design, which will stick out of your record rack for sure, of course very snorky!
DAVE TARRIDA
Grown up as a techno artist within the 90s UK scenery in line with Neil Landstrumm, Tobias Schmidt and Cristian Vogel, Dave Tarrida sounds just like one of those loud, sweaty, really dark underground clubs with too many strobes to see but just enough to keep your heart rate at a max. Most well known as one of the founding members of the legendary Sativae club in Edinburgh, he still retains this ravy, industrial feeling in his tracks and remains an ambassador of never ending electronic roughness - as a DJ as well as a producer.
His smashing tracks have been released on labels such as the famous Tresor, Outpost Recordings, and of course on the club-related label Sativae Recordings, which he co-runs with Steve Glencross, as well as on his more recent founded own label AUTOFAKE.
SNORK ENTERPRISES
It's a distinct sound diving deep down into the spheres of genuine underground techno where bass-lines surround your mind and the fascination of a gloomy yet groovy world of sounds inevitably enters your head.
Founded in 2004 by techno DJ and producer Christian Schachta, known as Syntax Error, Snork Enterprises is a base for modern underground electronic techno music. It's not at all about being pretentious or arty for the sake of it. It's about real depth on the dance floor. Short and sweet: very snorky! It's a journey with friends such as Cristian Vogel, Phil Kieran, Jens Zimmerman, Daze Maxim, DJ W!ld and other big names from the techno scene having dedicated themselves to an uncompromising, stunning beat to go even further on a trip to the instantly exceptional, experimental sounds, ranging back to various roots of electronic underground.

FILM Recordings will release the debut LP from Denial of Service.
The album follows up EP's Sensou (2015), and more recently Contour & Shape (2017) - but marks the producer's most expansive release on the label thus far by some margin. Clocking in at 15 tracks, the lengthy opus draws from the same palette found on previous work - drum machine driven, heavily mutated Electro and IDM sit alongside low slung Techno cuts and arpeggiated EBM references. As ever, the production is stunning - crisp and plosive, as much a record for the club as it is a tempered headphone experience; whilst the mood channels that same dank, claustrophobic energy found on previous missives.
As a body of work, the LP displays the distinctive touch of a production veteran. The transformative shifts in structure on opener A Fine, New Mother Now belie a kind of boldness found less often across the contemporary electronic music landscape; and the drum programming on IDM-leaning explorations Autoimmune & Supercell bear the hallmarks of a perfectionist with time on his hands and in full control of his art. Space and the placement of sonic components plays a huge role in the artist's work and the 3 Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch displays this canny knack for generating both textural, wide angle soundscapes whilst maintaining that wrought-iron edge to drums and percussive elements - even more fervent, noisy compositions like Dr Manahattan manage to keep hold of this remarkable balance. It's impressive stuff, a fine and well worked meeting point between artistic vision and engineering prowess.
An elongated discussion, no doubt - but worth hearing every word. Each twist and bend, however sharp, remains carefully placed and beautifully recorded. Dryer works Slither & Junkie Foxtrot towards the LP finish offer a less introspective, more hard hitting angle to the work, and by the time the listener arrives at dual closer the Daisy Chain - Adults - they're ready for its heady catharsis.
The debut album from Denial of Service is a trip, and the line between club space and home listening environment is decidedly blurred - an emotive exploration of true psychedelic Electronica, delivered direct from the source.
