Krakow based Olivia joins Pinkman with a modern twist on ancient charming practices. "Dancing Snake" takes you to a surging tomb rave in the heat of the desert. Your dehydrated soul will be satisfied by liquid notes of acid, while your mind is hypnotized by oriental melodies. Grubby rhythms and crunchy kicks reminisce about reality, making you wonder whether this all was just a lucid dream.

Released one per month, the series moves from Izabel’s shivering chug through Nkisi’s deadly anarcho-gabber psychedelia, Polar Inertia’s sleek techno throb and DJ Python & Mad Miran’s impromptu closing b2b.

Climate's third release in its tape series is a writhing hardcore masterclass from Nkisi. Recorded the same night as Elena Colombi's entry, it offers an inverted counterpart to that set's languid grooviness. Nkisi wrings a supple and hypnotizing atmosphere from the most astringent and defiant selections, using the 170+ bpm kick drums and scythe-like percussion to envelop the listener. Creation and destruction merge in a fluid void state. NSFW.

Ministry of Sound returns with a new instalment of their essentially vinyl series - Origins Of Rave. With iconic tracks from pioneers of the scene, this 2x LP release explores the early beginnings of a genre that revolutionised club culture. Featuring the likes of The Prodigy, Xpansions, Kicks Like A Mule and many more.

R&S teams up with Spanish producer Architectural AKA Juan Rico for two tracks of hypnotic machine funk 'This Is Not Purple / Rhythms & Souls' The Catalonian-based Asturian creator combines techno classicism with a rich strain of cinematic influences, recording as both Architectural and Reeko he has spent his career flitting between releases built for peak-time warehouse techno and introspective headphone psychouts.

For his R&S debut, Rico dips into science fiction as his core inspiration - A-side 'This Is Not Purple' snakes it's way around a snappy, stripped down but hi-tech groove that builds and builds. On the flip, 'Rhythms & Souls' amps a similarly tight drum track with a thumping DMX snare and pistoning kick drums, laced with seething pads and percolating percussion.

Drawing on the idea of an alternative civilization, Rico describes: "another cosmos with a retrofuturist aesthetic where a fusion between techno and funk is heard." Neat parallels can be drawn with Cybotron's planetary funk or the acquatic adventures of Drexciya - however Rico manages to make the sound his own - infusing his own unique strand of minimalism and heady euphoria for an intoxicating peak time experience.

Toulouse-based trio Blind Delon like distorted basslines, dirty beats and cold synths. On that new post-punk-ebm-techno 4-tracks EP, “Drugs”, they invite french industrial veteran HIV+ for his harsh lyrics and his smashed voice under the influence of psychotropic substances. Including a post-apocalytic remix from russian producer Alexey Volkov !

All of which brings us to Color Code, the latest EP from new Turbo sensation Dean Grenier.

Every single one of these four tracks is killer, a term industry demands have forced us use lightly in the past, but not this time, mister. This is sexually-viable sci-fi techno that rewrites your genetic code to give future generations a better chance at exhibiting club-friendly phenotypes like dance antlers or even more powerful sweat glands. At the snap of a glowstick, any of these selections will take your next set from “good” to “very good” on a scale of “good” to “shitty” to “very good.” That is our promise to you, no matter who you are or how much we care what you think.

Nerve Deposit is the new EP from Identified Patient on Dekmantel’s sub-label UFO. The record is a lysergic stew of industrial, electro, breakbeat hardcore and synth-rock, with the purpose to get under your skin and set your nerves tingling. While extending his signature sound, the Dutch producer upgrades his process and marshals a new complexity from his machines. The result is five tracks which stalk shadowy hallways but never lean too far into the darkness, at once menacing and lively. With a laboratory’s worth of sleazy synths, bubbling effects, raking textures, plunging bass and rhythmic left-turns, Nerve Deposit suggests we are in the court of a Professor, not a Patient. Tantalisingly, the best feels yet to come.

First up is Nehuen, an Argentinian born but Barcelona based artist who is notorious for his abrasive dance floor workouts on I Love Acid, BNR Trax and the Classicworks label he co-owns with Cardopusher. Cardopusher is, of course, a true electronic legend from Venezuela. His dizzyingly diverse sound takes in rave, acid, electro, techno and house influences and distills them into hugely
Raw and energetic new forms.

Nehuen's Psyops Part One kicks off with the excellent title track, which contorts acid and electro into a writhing monster filled with dark energy. The visceral 'Toxic' is built on slapping hits and spangled basslines that will tie you in knots as the bumping drums drive things forward. The late-night menace continues on 'Bailar', with tight synth arps layered up in robotic forms over clunky drums that are industrial and futuristic in equal measure. Last but not least, the eerie 'Desire' strikes a more twisted note with double kicks juddering beneath echoing hits. It's pure, filthy, brilliant body music.

Cardopusher kicks off Part Two with the fantastic 'Disobedience' (feat. Lbeeze) a slow-motion drum
workout that is like dark disco mangled through a psychedelic filter, with robotic vocals and stiff arp
jerking your body. 'Abyss Antidote' is then a flurry of drum breaks and electro bass, frazzled synths and whipping hits that keep you on the edge of your seat. Darkness abounds on the gritty 'Initial Decay' (ft. Lbeeze), which layers up taught drums and hits with spraying synths that come from a dystopian planet.

Closing out this epic mini-series is 'Mutant Brain', a cyborg techno meltdown with manic acid for
company.

These are devilishly distorted tracks from two of the best producers around.

New to Redstone Press, Liam Robertson comes with a singular, dark and brooding EP, expertly sweeping through techno, bass and broken beat dystopia. “Clay Petrel” sets the tone through unnerving synths and a heavy low end, interspersed by unyielding percussion and spectral voices. Closing the A side is “Common Weaver”, an unrelenting drum track that grows in intensity before descending into languid madness. The B side is looser, but the mood is further enhanced by the rolling sub and wistful vocals of “Wrestling Halfbeak Fighting Taxa” before it ends with the lurching beatwork and warped, growling bass of “Loxia”.

MixMup/Kassem Mosse and Physical Therapy get deep and playful on the 5th of five remixes for Pär Grindvik, the boss of Stockholm Ltd and half of the Aasthma duo with Peder Mannerfelt

MM/KM go below the surface with a stealthily building but never peaking techno rework of ‘Wall To Wall’ from Grindvik’s ‘The Game’ (2017) EP, and Queens, NYC loon Physical Therapy trots out a loopy, prancing pony of a remix for ‘Drift’ from 2004’s ‘Gem’ 12”.

We proudly welcome back the pioneer collective of South America born and raise in Buenos Aires, Argentina ‘Urban Groove’ (Luis Nieva, Miguel Silver, Omar Amo, Eduardo Criado, Diego Cid) they have been active since 1994 and they are a fundamental piece of Argentinian Electronic Music scene history. Back in 2018 they released ‘Notice Legalizer’ on the label and now two years after they are back to present us, another outstanding EP titled ‘Devastated Earth’, a seven track EP that will be release on a limited special Cassette Edition and digital format. One again, another fantastic work from Urban Groove, showcasing interesting sounds going from Acid, Electro, Industrial to Techno of course, showing us how decades of knowledge can be portray in a EP.

Straight off the back of a classic release on Derrick May’s label Transmat, Australian techno pioneer Biz is back with another ep of serious techno grooves. He creates a vibe that seduces the soul yet also has the tough elements that work so effectively on the dancefloor. This is the thirteenth release on Biz’s own label cliq which was founded in 2002 and is a reminder that Australian techno is here to stay…serious vibes!!

After the success of the first A-sides compilation in 2012, Adam Beyer has decided its time to release another. With Adam's stature steadily growing as one of the leading talents in the Techno scene and the rise of Drumcode, the standard of demo's that have been sent to Adam have been top notch. Adam has now decided to release two compilations with 10 tracks each, consisting of tracks that Adam has tried and tested. There are also new artists that have been invited to release on Drumcode for this compilation and others who are a staple in Drumcode's core family. The night, or morning, comes to an end in Roel's nightmarish fairground ride. "Wurlitzer Express" minces chiptune cuteness with splintered snares, cracked kicks and mutated percussion to leave hearts, minds and souls thoroughly stained.

And closing the B side out 'Thru The Shutters' was imagined as a last track on the early hours of Sunday morning dancefloor but could just as easily be a blissed out home listen. Phyzikal Flex delivers four absolute bombs from the vaults on this colabo EP from Doom Chakra and Parallax. The 12" features two revised and polished versions from his 2017 Doom Chakra Tapes album, “Keeping It Real Since 92”, plus two unreleased tracks - available for the first time now on vinyl.

Parallax & Doom Chakra joined forces on this PARADOOM 0001 release in order to finally release these four long-awaited gems on wax. The release will be delivered in a unique hand-sprayed sleeve, each record will be hand-stamped and will also include a batch of collectible stickers from both labels. De Lichting is back for their second double vinyl album titled; 'Twee'. The collective showcases a genuinely sensitive and pure sound resulting in an emotionally charged album.

The A-side kicks off with Boris Acket & Kaap. The live and improvised performance 'De Tuin' starts as a percussive soundscape and evolves into light footed ambiance, which resonates to a designated chill-out space, followed by 'Verwar' of Eversines. A darker hedonistic cut thanks to its atonal pads and heavy but sensual low end. A polyrhythmic breakbeat is introduced, which releases the tension and clears all the grey clouds to its sonic spectrum.

Human Space Machine & queniv take over the B-side this time, working their way through an emotional techno journey with Human Space Machine's 'Feels' and the most apocalyptical techno banger we've heard from queniv so far called 'U.I.C'.

Switching records to the second vinyl, we start on the C-side with Boris Acket's 'Humming', a house anthem sure to jerk the tears of euphoric dancers. Continuing, three other cuts which are Nathan Surreal's 'Chaos In The Echoes'; a mental deep weapon, queniv's museum inspired experiment 'Kruller Muller' and 'Onvoorwaardelijk' by RDS. C4 lives up to its number; blowing up clubs with a lovely sensitive yet dangerous electro bomb of a track.

When the concluding side is put on, we're taken aback by Kaap's 'Hartzeer', a heart aching combo of 707 drums, grungy textures and a rolling 16th bass, which goes right in the feels. RDS is featured a second time on D2 with 'Haat & Liefde', resulting in the most acoustic sounding track on the compilation before we end with Eversines' '2Anticipate'. An ambient cut where the 303 acid synth has hardly ever sounded so soft, tender and more sincere than you'd expect. And so, the album is wrapped up and implies a feeling of a new start to the next compilation.

De Lichting is a brand new collaborative project between three key underground labels from Amsterdam namely Yield Records, Native Response and Working Titles. All with their own successful solo projects and well established in what they do, the collaboration is “a coming of age story narrated by a bunch of music heads from the same city.” It is a project that sees seven self-confessed music nerds putting their DIY ideals front and centre and coming together to self-release these 13 new and exciting tracks.

Artists Nathan Surreal, queniv, RDS, Scott Franka, Kaap, Eversines, Human Space Machine and Deltitnu all contribute at least one track each to what will be the first in a new series of releases that follow this same diverse collaborative approach. Musically, the tracks cover many shades of house, ambient and techno across four carefully curated sides of vinyl.

Side A takes in unsettling sci-fi ambiance that turns into spacious and cosmic deep house before dropping back into dreamy, beatless chords. Side B picks up the pace with slippery electro synths and rubbery grooves that journey through the cosmos before ending up on romantic broken beat bliss.

Side C kicks off with menacing and trippy house which turns to deep acid, loose beat workouts and dubby ambiance then last of all, Side D offers supple mind melting techno and sombre minimal dub. Always inventive and atmospheric throughout, this a varied and vital release that both DJs and dancers are sure to love.

So begins Cornwallis' "At The Disco", a robot-voiced spoken word oddity released on Power Vacuum in 2015.

Power Vacuum is all about the mentasm: the mental orgasm, the moment when psychoactive electronics remould your grey matter into discombobulating new shapes, and when silliness, surreality, and playful aggression flip the sensible order of things upside down.

"EVA00" on the A side offers up a hybrid electro-breaks infused sound with rolling basslines and euphoric melodies, encapsulating yet to be heard futuristic club cuts. Whilst ‘Douglas Descend’ adheres to a more classically punchy techno sonic with hypnotic kicks and a protruding industrial snare. B-Side’s ‘Innocence’ is a dark bass-heavy electro track that is masterfully mind-bending. The EP is then rounded off by the warehouse inspired track entitled ‘LSD’, reminiscent of big room rave settings of the 90’s. A high energy club ready EP.

Alan Fitzpatrick makes a triumphant return to the scene-leading imprint this August. The typically bombastic three-tracker of explosive, crowd-moving techno opens with Love Siren packed with all the power and punch required to knock over festival crowds as it systematically builds and drops, this is one for the big open air stages. 'U Said U is a massively hyped track that has been the subject of huge fan-demand since it first featured on Beyer's Drumcode Radio in January. Rumours wraps things up in slightly more understated but non-the-less effective fashion with its drawn out, tension building intro mushrooming into a crescendo of sleazy chords and sparking melodies.

Focused, honest, and fresh, Stealth Mode is a record with barreling rhythms and soul stirring harmonies. A mix of menace and melancholy, shadows and strobes.

Our number 17 comes in the hands of P.E.A.R.L. himself, with three slices of modern properly distorted technoes plus a Drum & Bass infused cut. As P.E.A.R.L.'s sound signature, a few elements make things move an evolve without super breaks or mega reverb washes, dry, raw and precise. Pearson Sound returns to Hessle for the first time in 5 years, with an EP for clubs and warehouses varied in tone and intensity. 'Alien Mode' orbits around a sledgehammer breakbeat, processed for impact on contemporary dancefloors whilst referencing the sonic palette of early hardcore and jungle, with its time-stretched vocals and restrained FX stabs. 'Cobwebs' flips a percussion sample, officially licensed from Nigerian musician Adewale Ayuba, into a head-spinning sub-fuelled roller at 155bpm. The understated ecstasy of 'Everything Is Inside Out' closes the EP with its elastic arpeggios and yearning synth lines. DJ support includes Four Tet, Objekt, Jamie xx & Daphni.

A testament to the growth of Adam Beyer’s scene-leading label, Drumcode annual A-Sides Vol.8 is the brand’s biggest yet.

The 25-track strong compilation, split across 7 EPs, features standout cuts Beyer has received over the last 12 months, but been unable to find room for in Drumcode’s regular release schedule, such is the volume and high standard of music that’s submitted.

Part 1 sees Layton Giordani drop the stirring chord-driven ‘Chrome’, whilst Veerus follows up his powerful DC release with the fierce ‘Prophecy’ and BEC makes a blistering debut with ‘Hypersphere’.

There’s a troupe of debutants donning the Drumcode jersey for the first time, including Shelley Johansson, Avision, Zimmz, Woo York, SAMA (in a terrific collaboration with Secret Cinema) and Ilija Djokovic, who delivers a shimmering highlight with ‘Aura’, a particular favourite of Beyer’s over the last year. Raxon also debuts on the label after a couple of quality additions to the Truesoul back catalogue.

Exciting young guns Weska and Juliet Fox bring heat to the compilation, while Timmo follows up a strong DC release with a repeat dose. Elsewhere faithful contributors Ramon Tapia, Jay Lumen, Luca Agnelli, Marco Bailey and Mark Reeve craft powerful dancefloor weapons.

Berlin based and operating, Paris bread and raised, Jean Yann Records is an independent music label focused on house, tech-house and techno music. Evolving in the Berlin scene for over 3 years now and being over 4 years old. This Vinyl only release represents everything Jean Yann Records stands for, a real blend of genres, with a multi-cultural background, shaping the future of electronic music. All the producers who helped build this project play in big venues, either in Europe or in Asia, are known from and know the club scene, which sublimates the standing of the tracks in this episode.

Influential Spanish artist Coyu is stepping out on his own Suara label with a long overdue debut album entitled ‘You Don’t Know’ that is going to shatter all conceptions about him. Due for release this September 23rd, the 16 track affair showcases his broad range and takes in collaborators like Moby, Lazarusman, The Horrorist, Thomas Gandey and many more.

Coyu quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the most prominent names in underground dance music. The Spanish man famous for his love of cats has established his Suara label as a go-to outlet for the most essential house and tech tracks, as well as releasing his own expressive grooves on Cocoon Recordings, Diynamic, Bedrock Records, Turbo Recordings and MORE. Now he really stretches his legs across a fantastic full length album that goes way beyond the dance floor and shows many new sides to his sound. The artist has been working on it since 2012 and aims to show people that whatever they think about him is wrong.

Says the artist himself, “the album is named ‘You Don't Know’ because many people have a preconceived idea of who I am. Until now, maybe I wasn't smart enough to show them my roots, what I love and what I can offer to the music. I'm not just a DJ or a producer who can play or make grooves – I love many different genres and many different kinds of music. With this album I want to change that preconception.”

The album kicks off with a dramatic spoken word from legendary vocalist Lazarusman before exploring low slung and sleazy grooves on ‘The Three Chimney’, floaty light melodic and dreamy house on ‘Out of The Pain’ and more club focussed but just as dreamy fair on ‘We All Try’ with Mike Leary.

Proving he can do everything from poolside gems to peak time techno, ‘Fear Is Gunna Be A Player In Your Life’ is one to get you in a trance with its sonar like synths and rolling deep space drums. Thomas Gandey aka Cagedbaby then steps up to guest on ‘1+1’ which is a hands in the air piano anthem to pump the party, and ‘Wanna Do Right, Wanna Do Wrong’ is a techno cut with brilliantly energetic drum programming and a big, perfectly placed vocal sample.

Switching up the vibe is ‘I May Be Dead, But One Day The World Will Be Beautiful Again’ with none other than dance legend Moby. It is a heavenly track with break beats, angelic melodies and a celestial feel that leaves you refreshed. The second half touches on raved-up drum & bass, gurgling minimal techno and harder techno with mind melting acid synths. The Horrorist contributes to the banging ‘My First Pill’, while the techno journey continues with ‘Unite’ featuring Gabriella Vergilov before the album finishes on the fluttering ambient track ‘Insania’, with mad church bells and manic percussion all bringing things to a close in style.

This is a broad, adventurous album that covers plenty of music ground and takes you on a true electronic trip from one of dance music’s most accomplished names.

Voitax welcomes newcomer Cyan85 to their roster. Characterised by its dreamy pads, retro-futurist arpeggios and slamming 808 beats, his debut EP, "Bay Of Sampieri" builds on electro's rich heritage to deliver a bouncy, dance-floor warmer.

The second release on TDSR comes from the Prince of Florence - Dukwa. "Tears Like Stones" is his most varied body of work yet, and hints at the versatility of what's to come from this new Glaswegian label.

Marco Dukwa lives a life of many parallels. Growing up in a small town on the outskirts of Florence, he is the third of eight children in a working class family - by day working 13 hours shifts since adolescence to help provide for his siblings, all the while dreaming of music. By night he locks himself in his room, channelling his emotions through the only hardware he could afford – the MPC1000. Through his sampler he reflects various influences from dance music past and present, crafting tracks of rave euphoria, dusty Detroit house, gliding arpeggios and golden era electro.

At weekends, he is the darling of his local football team Antella FC for which he is the top goal scorer and subject of much adoration (even if it’s only from the average attendance of 50 people).

“Tears Like Stones” translates both the introspective recording process and the intent for versatile DJ use, percussion tools and peak time energy represented across each side. The EP demonstrates Dukwa’s path from 2008 to today – the culmination of more than a decade immersed in sound.

Exciting new electronic project E&D burst onto the scene in stunning style with the exhilarating ‘Not Enough’ and ‘Runaway’, released on FCR on 14th June and backed by remixes from acclaimed electronic producers Mall Grab and Ali Berger.

London based E&D have unleashed two scintillating vocal cuts which have UK clubbing culture at their very core, featuring classic Garage influences. The theme of heartbreak runs throughout both ‘Not Enough’ and ‘Runaway’ with an emphasis on harmony and melody which will be integral to the identity of the E&D project.

The deep and atmospheric ‘Not Enough’ presents a beautiful yet powerful female vocal whose tone and expression perfectly emphasises the message of lost love. E&D perfect balance this with contrasting shimmering and stabbing beats to produce a track that already has the hallmarks of a classic.

‘Runaway’ is an up-tempo, vintage-sounding UK Garage themed cut with poignant undertones, as the gorgeous female vocal again mourns a relationship which has moved on.

For the remixes, E&D have called upon two of electronic music’s most respected producers – Mall Grab and Ali Berger. Both offer a completely fresh perspective to the originals. With his remix of ‘Not Enough’ celebrated Australian Producer Mall Grab takes the original into deeper, tougher territory, stripping back and lowering the vocal and adding intense, almost tribal, percussion alongside vintage acid house beats.

FCR favourite Ali Berger also takes his working of ‘Runaway’ deep into the underground, emphasising the bass, cleverly layering the vocal and building to a peak-time floor-filler.

Following 3 maxis on Hilltop Imprint and the label Construct Re-Form, the producer Fareed – formerly of the Society of Silence duo (Versatile, Concrete Music) – returns on the new label, MAZE, dedicated to experimental breaks and cinematic soundscapes.
This first EP, with irregular rhythms and metallic sounds, loses us in the meanders of a jungle and transports us into a world borrowed from mysticism.

Climate of Fear follows up Soft Boi’s debut LP with a mammoth drop: 12 tapes ripped straight from the first two years of Berlin parties. Released one per month, the series moves from Izabel’s shivering chug through Nkisi’s deadly anarcho-gabber psychedelia, Polar Inertia’s sleek techno throb and DJ Python & Mad Miran’s impromptu closing b2b.

Climate of Fear's second installment in their tape series comes from Polar Inertia: a one hour masterclass of HD ice burn techno. Raw Culture renews its love with France by carving it on the wax.

The Parisian Security Dj, honorary member of the Knick Knack Yoda squad, returns, after the success of "Fucking DJ", in collaboration with Sophia De Jong released on our t last VA, this time with two whole sides dedicated to his weirdness.

Resident of Rinse France, in his sound, converge endless cues from his musical research, expressed through his already proven skills as a producer in his infamous Aubervilliers Studios. Roughness and overwhelming grooves are his characteristic traits.

Within the EP a collaboration with his snack dude Rawmance, Parisian by birth, Italian by adoption, with whom he shares also the Drew C. Mance project.

Asymmetrical , boss of the label, did the role of Celine Dion in “Ramp Age” with his magic voice.
Finally, to complete the work, we have the pleasure to have in our infamous stables tha guy Cardopusher, who cooks his version of "domestic xs" with his unmistakable groove and sound that makes even the stones move from the ground.

We are proud to welcome back San Francisco based DJ and producer Sepehr Alimagham for his debut album ‘Shaytoon’. Drenched in nostalgia from his upbringing, ‘Shaytoon’ pays homage to 1970s Iranian albums that were on rotation throughout his youth. Eight tracks of twisted acid, left-of center electro, sludgy psychedelia, and things-you-can-maybe-call-techno are a few of the sonic elements found within. Regular listeners will find Sepehr’s signature perspiratory dance-floor vibe, but some songs also showcase a low-slung, cerebral approach. Sepehr's unique sonic palette carves an interesting space in the dance music world by harnessing the spirit of his cultural ancestors. The artwork pays tribute to ‘70s Iranian pop and funk albums with bold Farsi calligraphy and portraits by Sahra Jajarmikhayat. In relation to the music, the album cover creates a dichotomy much like Throbbing Gristle's ’20 Funk Jazz Greats’. Berakhs (Dance).

Label Boss of UNCAGE label, Marco Faraone delivers a series of incredible remixes of Tin Man's Nonneo single, which was originally released in 2011.
First up is the Floor Mix, which leaves the wispy, undulating acid line form the original in place but layers in more heavy, earth rattling drums down below. It makes for a truly hypnotic track.

Then comes a dub version, which is built on elastic drums with gentle acid riffs floating above the compelling kicks, and last of all is a Dreamy Version that is awash with lush heavenly pads that float up to the skies as the rooted drums keeping things moving down low.
This is a varied and vital package from Faraone, coming on a fresh slab of 10".

Boris Bunnik aka Conforce returns to Delsin for his fifth album on the label. Across eight tracks he delivers a wide range of styles yet keeps the ethereal and textural aesthetic of his sound recognizable at all points. His atmospheric approach combined with razor sharp percussion and intricately programmed synths make "Dawn Chorus" one of his most adventurous albums to date. Flirting with his Versalife moniker at times, this album leans to his experimental works, strongly optimized for dance floors using his unique sounddesign skills and unstoppable drift to reinvent himself.

DOWNWELL is the solo project of Giorgi Kolbaia and comes out from one of the planet’s hottest scene nowadays speaking about dark techno and ebm (Tbilisi/Georgia). It could be perfectly described as a paving roller for the dance floor or as a hell thunder storm.

Resounding dark beats and distorted voices to burn everything around. All tracks have been specially remastered for LONG CUT Vinyl by Eric Van Wonterghem at Prodam Berlin.

Straight from the confines of her chosen Berlin home, Starlight impresses with an update of her singular, machine-driven techno. Ranging from banging to introspective, this record shows the artist at her most versatile yet, pairing her signature bone-dry analogue output with emotive atmospherics and playful vibrancy.
Starting out deep, A1 contrasts uptempo acid licks with grand layers of strings, followed by the slowly building, equally vibey A2. Panoramic washes create an ambience of space, the elastic kick steadily holding down the floor until a late swash of percussion seals the deal.
The flip carries one of Starlight’s most abrasive moments, featuring rave-style sirens right out the gate, treated to some crazy live filtering with epic acidic effects. Mysterious grooves on the last track, its offbeat synth swaying an electric tension, restrained yet powerful.

Broken techno and jungle cuts from Manchesters Thodén

There are few genres in which German artists play such a central pioneering role as they do in electronic music, be it techno, electropop, trance or rave. At the frontline for many years were Kraftwerk and U96, two absolute trailblazers of this musical direction. While Kraftwerk wrote international music history mainly in the 1970s with cult albums such as Autobahn (1974), Radio-Aktivität (1975), Trans Europa Express (1977) and Die Mensch-Maschine (1978), U96 had a profound influence on the global pop music, rave and techno scene of the 1990s with hits such as ‘Das Boot’, ‘Love Sees No Colour’, ‘Night In Motion’ and ‘Heaven’. Transhuman, scheduled for release on UNLTD Recordings on 30th October 2020, will feature a spectacular collaboration between U96 (Ingo Hauss

& Hayo Lewerentz) and Wolfgang Flür, Kraftwerk’s drummer in the years between 1972 and 1987 and therefore involved in the most seminal albums by the group from Düsseldorf.

This remarkable cooperation was first announced and implemented by two joint numbers on U96’s 2018 offering Reboot. Transhuman sees U96 and Wolfgang Flür develop their creative exchange across a full album, creating fascinating sonic worlds. The title song ‘Transhuman’ and an updated version of ‘Zukunftsmusik (Radiophonique)’ will be released as lead singles, including, as we’ve come to expect from U96, experimental video clips. That New York record label Radikal Records immediately secured the rights to the album for the US and Canada points to major interest in this project, not only on these shores but also across the Atlantic.

“Transhuman is a stylistic mélange of our different histories,” describe Wolfgang Flür and U96 masterminds Hauss and Lewerentz an offering that is spectacular in many respects, featuring, along with typical U96 tracks such as ‘Clone’ and ‘Specimen’, numbers such as ‘Transhuman’, ‘Planet In Fever’ and ‘Sexersizer’ that are inspired by Flür’s past. Notably, the content has been reduced to the sheer basics, in other words: sparingly used associative statements with deep, but at times also playful and mysterious messages that the listener feels rather than consciously registers. The lyrics are about the transformation of people through technology and our massive interference in life on our planet. Hauss: “Pieces like ‘Zukunftsmusik’ and ‘Transhuman’ don’t tell a story in the classic sense, they articulate emotions and associations in very few words, bringing to mind recordings such as Radio-Aktivität, Autobahn and Die Mensch-Maschine. In addition Transhuman, features a number of melodies created on the basis of computer algorithms, in other words fractal music which takes us even further back in history, to Klaus Schulze, Stockhausen, the electronics laboratories of the fifties and sixties and the musique concrete compositional technique.”

Following on from March's Shlømo remix package featuring Donato Dozzy, Bambounou, Shlømo and label boss Kennedy Smith, Bright Sound's second release of 2016 will new a brand new EP from Sweden's Andreas Tilliander.
With his releases on his own Repeatle imprint and his TM404 alias's hardware-driven techno featuring on Skudge White and Kontra-Musik, Tilliander is among Sweden's most versatile talents working right now. His arrival on Bright Sounds is of a piece with BSRX 004, last year's reissue of fellow Swede Henrik Johansson's 1997 EP as Smyglyssna. As with Johansson's record, Tilliander's Stettin Libau EP explores slower tempo techno, locating the moments of space and energy in between its rhythmic structures. This search is most keenly observed in 'Knapp Ledsyn', with its ever-shifting sonic landscape melting away at various points to reveal its unusual, skeletal beats and hidden melodic details, while the EP title track and 'Nybliven Lots' apply that approach to what might at first be a traditional dub techno template, yet still offering further small moments of off-beat character. Completing the release is a 'Detox Operation' remix of 'Knapp Ledsyn' from Nonplace Records chief Burnt Friedman, in which the German veteran strips things down to a gentle patter of drums overlaid with suggestive flashes of the original's rich atmospheric elements.

Distance feels ingrained in how we all navigate the world at the moment, we’re hoping to bring you a little closer together with iota’s new release on Pure Space. It feels like exactly what we’ve been craving; a moment of calm, rhythms to soothe, sit back and get carried away to.

Having self-released a number of EP’s in the past year iota has pricked up the ears of the Australian music community with his take on minimal tek, electro and acid. His debut release on Pure Space delivers three original tracks spanning the breadth of minimal club music. Accompanying the release are two remixes, one from Melbourne's famed lizard Reptant and another from IDM producer DBR.

On the A-side iota kicks it off with ‘Terminus’, here deep under a tight electro beat lurks a staunch bassline intertwined with playful pads and soft acid-like tones. It’s a textural and delicately refined track, with each sound finding its perfect place within the piece. Up next is ‘Cloudtek’; where gentle percussion dances softly on a bed of textured sampling that truly takes the edge off the stomping 4/4 beat..

Flipping to the B-side you will find ‘Noxi’, a lurking, moody atmospheric track. Curious psy-inspired samples follow you through the piece and a continual shift in the percussion builds tension and a sense of movement to ensue.

Complementing the release Melbourne’s Reptant puts a deeper electro-acid take on ‘Terminus’. His Lizard-Tech mix plays up the acid elements of the original and sits on the darker end of the scale. The acid drones demand attention and the new baseline brings the beat to the forefront of your mind.

This is probably K-rAd's most summery outing to date - from the tropical twinkle of Braga Juice to spacious, dramatic synth sweeps and lavish deep bass on 121_Not Dropping 2, this is all music that has a sense of space and movement that demands open air for fullest appreciation. On the other side, 64_Really Doing Bong Beat has a dubby rockers vibe that's at once jubilant & reflective, a perfect balance to get lost to on the dancefloor

Starting off, the latest K-rAd smash is a rolling techno depth-charge, complete with a heavily-swung Claro Intelecto-esque bassline and heavenly piano musings in the backdrop. On the flip side, a light & bubbly subliminal deep house joint, followed by the euphoric whirlpool of 126_Eventpow. All tracks are ready for the club, when the club is ready to dance.

Wheez-ie joins Craigie Knowes offshoot C-KNOW-EVIL with bone-shakin' breaks, piercing synths and flavours channeled from 90s UK rave-culture. 'ONLY HUMAN' sets the record straight with chopped and distorted breaks laden with carefully selected voice clips and samples - building a haunting wall-shaker built for any dancefloor willing enough to test their stamina. 'WEAPONIZED' continues in a similar vein, injecting acid into the heart of the signature Wheez-ie sound. A record for the bolt of heart, stray carefully.

Techno boldness from the depths of Upstate New York. Mysterious L’estasi Dell’oro returns with eight mind-boggling machine songs. Twisted mechanical workouts, enchanted while driving hard like awakened nature recapturing unattended industrial structures. Circular melodies cut through the rectangular metallic clutter. This is the stuff to bring us back together. Following previous releases on Macro, Field, Flaneur Audio, Fifth Wall and Voodoo Down, Christopher Ernst leaves his Brooklyn phase behind and starts afresh with his first long-form release in five years.

When Peggy Gou released her debut EP ‘Art of War’ in
2016, she made a list of career goals. One of them was to
become the first South Korean DJ to play Berlin’s techno
institution Berghain, an objective she achieved only a few
months later. Another item on that list was to record an
instalment of !K7’s DJ-Kicks series. “It’s the premier
class of DJ mixes,” she says. “Some of my favourite
selectors have contributed to it.” Now Peggy Gou can
tick that off her list too as she proudly presents the 69th
edition of the mix series.
The Berliner-by-choice started working on the mix last year. It was a
busy time for the 28-year-old: she’d just scored her first Mixmag cover
and her single ‘It Makes You Forget (Itgehane)’ was receiving awards
and critical acclaim. Each month she would DJ in 20 nightclubs all over
the world. And yet, the goal for her mix was ambitious: instead of trying
to capture the energy of her DJ sets, she aimed to create a portrayal of
her own musical journey. An 18-track listening session that takes you
straight into Peggy Gou’s living room where she plays you the formative
tunes from her collection. No genre boundaries – she moves across
disco, house, techno and electro. No tempo limits – the mix ranges from
90 to 150 BPM. And no age restriction – the earliest tunes on the mix
are from 1983

One of Sonic Groove's longest standing label artists, Realmz returns with an infectious well rounded four cut extended EP entitled 'Mindfold'. Straight out of Pittsburgh the steel city capital of the USA Realmz has been involved in electronic music since the last decade of the 20th century. Growing up on a steadfast diet of Industrial/EBM/IDM/Detroit techno and Drum & Bass, Realmz has taken inspiration from these many underground forms of electronic music. In his signature style, the Sci-fi sound design on 'Mindfold' weaves it's way in an out of bleak futuristic overtones set across a multitude of uniquely written broken beat and 4/4 drum rhythms. This heavily thought provocative & extremely well produced, contemporary Industrial Techno EP is a must for any aficionado of the genre.

Renato Cohen has remade his Pontape original eleven years on, bringing new life to one of techno's classic records.

Beginning with the immediately recognisable droning bass line that has become so synonymous with the release, Cohen introduces a build during the middle section that gives the track a new depth second time around. Alan Fitzpatrick has been selected for remix duties, adding a contemporary twist to this classic track by retaining the original hook-line using the drone in the breaks but adding his own synth-stab to bring a new and interesting dimension to the track.

The word ‘Isolation’ undoubtedly has a new weight to it. For any person, within communities, it has the ability to starve us of something essential OR positively re-calibrate an individual whose introspection can lead to creation. The title & concept of this release is simply an acknowledgement of a creative process in which going inwards can lead to the discovery of something unique.

We as people move alongside technological advancements & this has the power to ‘connect & isolate’ Our personal relationships with one another also take on new forms as our tools for communication change. This inspires creative action. The human response to modern devices can result in surreal and unfamiliar expressions. In terms of music, our instant access to information from the past & engrained intuitions lead us to revisit atavistic rhythms of the past & reinterpret them with new sensibilities. We create music from the ‘Now’ that traverses the ‘Past’ with sights set on the future!

Bonds created from this expression can withstand and even strengthen even when inter-continental physical distance is imposed - forcing us to look inward to investigate the true depth of relationships forged out of creative expression. Rhythm has been used for millennia to locate the deepest parts of the soul & to re/connect spirits - this is true also in the modern age. Certain feelings cannot be expressed via digital text-communications nor with words alone; Music is the answer. Connection through disconnection.

The Artwork on the B-side of this record is a symbol of the individual, isolated & pinned down by the spindle, falling, spiralling, a metaphor for whatever turns you inward. The needle on the record emanates the rhythm”

PHZ004 - Sedgwick’s first return to Vinyl since PHZ001’s Digitale Djungle. Five cuts of proper underground material for dancers and deejays alike. Sedgwick’s homecoming is aplomb with hot, headsy electro interposed across a lewd landscape of tripped-out transmissions. We get straight to it with ‘Metal Detector’, a bewitching, twisted work-out delivered with such conviction it could be straight from 1997 Anthony Rother. With elements of breaks, electro and techno - ‘Exit’, the A2, is a pulsating peregrination around the geography of underground sound; hybrid heads - take note. On the flip of the record we are greeted with 'Pleasuresque' a quasi-old school breaks track which delivers a vibey electronic grit, balanced carefully with serene pad work and sparse moments in the track - it's the masterful arrangement here which allows Sedgwick to push the musical tension to the next level. Elsewhere, ‘Blue Print’ is a beautifully paced synthetic trip, one for the “sun coming through the shutters” crew. Closing things is ‘Bermuda Dream’, a markedly poised, high-octane dreamscape of emotional intelligence and a confident gaze ahead. Welcome to the future.
