Code Is Law founder Mørbeck launches his new Low Life Club imprint in late May, welcoming fast-rising talent Hadone to deliver his five-track EP ‘They Will Come’ whilst also remixing the title cut.

Berlin born producer and DJ Mørbeck has been involved in the city’s rich techno scene for over a decade, releasing music via Planet Rhythm and Vault Series plus remixes on Perc Trax and Soma. Having launched Code Is Law in 2013, featuring material from the likes of Under Black Helmet and Sawf alongside his own productions, here we see the arrival of a new project dubbed as Code Is Law’s ‘little cheeky brother’ as he welcomes Brussels based French artist Jeremy Bonnet aka Hadone to launch Low Life Club following his recent stand out ‘Defining Persuasion’ EP Taapion Records, plus further releases on Ravage and Grounded.
The up-front ‘Hatefull Peepshow’ opens proceedings with authority as Bonnet fuses hard-hitting kicks with skipping hats, warped vocals and resonant bass patterns, whilst title cut ‘They Will Come’ keeps the pace high as hypnotic synths and bright rave stabs guide the track’s frenzied yet coordinated energy. Next, ‘Wade The Revenge’ introduces soaring synth leads amongst sharp, metallic production licks and regimented drum arrangements, before label boss Mørbeck’s ‘interpretation of ‘They Will Come’ injects a slice of groove and funk as he combines bumping low ends and slick organic percussion shots.

Marreck is Michael Hann, a musician based out of Teesside and also runs the label Reject and Fade. Hann also records under the Rejections moniker, with releases on his own label as well as Opal Tapes and Tesla Tapes to name just a few. His release for Alien Jams takes a deranged journey through harsh industrial textures, creating a visceral rush through ever shifting tensions.

Bart Skils returns to Drumcode with his third solo release, 'Shadowprint'. Consisting of Bart's famous rolling drums and bass rhythms he has crafted an EP that is exceptionally functional. With each track Bart has added character by introducing vocals, interesting melodies and deep percussion to keep it interesting.

The EP is made up of 3 peak time tracks that are eloquently put together. 'My Part Of Town' is a bit deeper from Bart and contrast's well to the rest of the EP with it's melodic bass line.

Fresh off his recently released X Years in London film soundtrack, Braiden returns to both his label and the dancefloor for Off Out's 4th single and one of his most energetic releases to date.
V.O.L.A.T. is a bold, metallic juggernaut, twisting through sonic labyrinths over its ten minute duration. At once direct and amorphous, the track plays with the foreboding and the gentle, with organic and metallic sounds intertwining with imposing resolve.Hydroplane resides on the flip side of this release, a relentless jacker with juddering pitched toms working their way through chromium chords and disembodied cavernous vocals. A pacey showcase of tension and release to synergise with the perpetual motion of the dancefloor.

Spanish DJ and producer Psyk returns to his own NON Series with 'Opal Lake'. This 40th release on the imprint and also the first release of 2020 is a stellar four track techno pack including a collaboration with fellow Spanish producer Architectural.

Opening track 'Biting Nails' sees a new studio collaboration between the two Spanish techno legends. It's a deep and emotive jam showing a surprisingly melodic side of both producers. Title track 'Opal Lakes' is the most powerful outing on the EP, fierce and driving rhythms melting into hazy atmospheres. With its crispy snares 'Bell Tair' flips the energy with an on-point minimalistic percussion workout where 'Outline' and its deep drums acidic riffs drags you below see level into a bright and lively underwater world.

'NEEDS' returns for it's 1st birthday celebrations, returning to where it all begun with a record in aid of mental health and featuring the talents of DJ Normal 4, Red Axes and Hodge. Following on from the Needs x HeForShe record earlier this year with Peggy Gou & Juju & Jordash, the label are back with a record aiming to raise awareness about mental health and encourage positive conversations surrounding the subject. With its fourth catalogue number, Steinlach returns to the vinyl format with a remix EP. On board are international friends of the label, who layed hands on Wice's originals with outstanding re- interpretations. While the A-side contains two groovy and club-oriented remixes of "Just kiddin", the trippy flipside focuses on the second outcome of the label and refers to the two pieces "Absent" and "Hertz".

The record opens with a fast-paced and jacking "Just Kiddin" version by Deep'a and Biri. The two guys from Tel Aviv re-interprate the clubby aspect of the piece, furnish it with a portion of percussions and accompany it with a volatile beat. Discharging the track with a big bang, they're leaving the listener with no chance but to move energetically to the groove patterns while cherishing the original lead melody.

Just like Deep'a and Biri, Jon Hester bets on the energy and the recognition value of the original synth line. As typical for Jon, he gives a more Chicago-style housey and bouncy touch to the composition. The lead is getting chopped, re-interpreted and re-arranged into a new groove and melody pattern, sure to inspire the floor to shake and to catapult everyone around into a frisky dancing mood. Suddenly, the well-known arpeggio of the original comes in and makes for the climax of this brilliant remix.

With side B, the club aspect of the record might not be left behind, but moved into more stripped and trippy terrains. The B1 track is fashioned as a ruthless "Absent" version, unmistakably having Refracted's writing all over it. The smallest variations of the synth line, drones, and pads, without resorting to typical drum rack aspects, find their way deep inside the listener's head, and draw them into their subtle rhythm. The unapologetic roughness of the interpretation is striking and makes it a brilliant peaktime weapon.

Rounding up the whole EP, the last remix of the record is a wonderful re-interpretation by the talented Australian that is Mosam Howieson. He ministered to Wice's personal favourite piece and crafted a loving and deep version of "Hertz", which translates the magic of the original into own words and emotions, adds a subtle groove to it, then invites to listen more carefully. One quickly dives into a hopeful world in which a certain magic seems to be present, and where everything seems to be alright. Be it as a perfect last piece after a long fulfilling evening, or as the outstanding means to make the sun rise in the morning-Mosam's interpretation sure hits the spot.

Jorden Hodgetts (aka Cleric) is back on Clergy with a powerful solo EP. Opening with the high tempo track "Angel of Death", a creative paradigm of vocals layered over rolling chords, and piercing atmospheres.

Leading into "Luddite", a track that brings another type of energy. Suited to desolate warehouse spaces, Jorden really starts to paint a picture to the 19th Clergy release.

"Acid Reflux" takes control of the B1. Distorted 303 acid lines and focused drums are paired with a subtle mystical vocal.

The final track of the EP "Pretty Poison" draws your attention towards the twisted synth stabs, while keeping momentum through the driven drums that Cleric has been know for over the years.

Tresor Records is pleased to welcome Minimal Violence to the label, starting with the first chapter in a series of three records entitled DESTROY ---> physical REALITY psychic <--- TRUST to be released during the next 12 months. At the furthest edges of their idiosyncratic brand of ferocious hardware techno, this first EP, Phase One, reveals the Vancouver duo to be expertly out on a limb. Mirroring the explosive cut and thrust of their live sets, their recorded output extends a metaphysical rave.
Throughout, Ash Luk and Lida P cut their cinematic melodies into a clattering rave hole, unceasingly revising the gravitational pull in each direction. Ravebomb finds a route of no-nonsense with its unhinged endorphin rush of surging EBM style bass and rough-handed rhythms. It is followed up by an alternate version of Ravebomb, the Fire Mix, which casts its elements into a heady psychoactive cloud on a collision course with its kick drum.
Glimpses of a rhythmic waywardness coat Perfect Rendition, full of tape tics and wobble, with a push to 90s UK, beat experimentations and the pull of arching hookworms.
Closing out the EP is The Next Screen Is Death, with a dystopian 80s wave sound, where short snippets of sampled mush imbue disturbed synth stabs, while arpeggiated basses drive with momentum a feverous descent in tandem with trance-echoing melodies.

Steel City Dance Discs Volume 14 hits with three strong doses of Aloka and a boneshaking remix from Jensen Interceptor.
Experience it all in this psycho-electro jaunt. Moments of twisted ambience with strung out lysergic chords quickly flare up into swells of stark breaks, distorted synth rushes and clouds of techno paranoia.

Digital Rain Systems hail from Winnipeg and their music presents a perfect halfway point between the lounged-out house of Vancouver and the more ethereal beats bubbling up from Montreal. The project started as a way for Cole Woods and Jory Hasselmann, both members of the band Human Music, to explore their budding love for house, techno and ambient music. The result—simply titled "Vol 1."— sounds like a duo discovering decades' worth of electronic music all at once. They list Larry Heard, 808 State and Windham Hill Records as influences for a sound that skirts the edges of classic techno, dusty house, dub, electro and New Age music. Those might be standard influences these days, but Digital Rain Systems put them together in a far from standard way. Woods and Hasselmann’s recording techniques stay true to their live music roots: recorded off-the-cuff in a single take straight to tape from a BOSS mixer. The songs are built around samples and fastened to heavy, bucking basslines and twinkly chords that come from their modest collection of hardware. It's a rough-and-tumble sound that recalls the early work by Canadian acts like D. Tiffany and Aquarian Foundation but is very much their own. Take the plunge on this adventurous spread of audio. Mark du Mosch returns to Pinkman, after his debut EP The Red Hour back in 2016. Magneto takes you on a rollercoaster ride from an industrial factory workout to a soulful frenzy and back. Filled with heavy, borderline tribal rhythms intertwined with glitchy loops and spacey melodies, it's a vortex into a dreamlike state where the routine is the villain and the practice of discipline unfolds into the liberation of creativity. Welcome to the seductive groove of Nonetheless, a new duo formed of Florian Bocksrucker and Felix Bergleiter, and the first LP on Neubau. The label has the honor to welcome in its ranks the one who could be compared to a centurion, the greatest in charge in the Roman Army. With more than a decade of experience behind him and which has dictated the aesthetic canons of a genre, Lykos Records presents Ness and his EP "Memento".

In this sonic adventure Ness delves into the most hidden and dark ravines of memory. In a succession of allegorical scenes, dystopian premonitions and powerful evocative sounds "Memento", focuses his attention on memory and how much it is fundamental, both as a psychic function of assimilation, as well as for processing data in order to learning.

The EP opens with the track that gives the name to the work "Memento", which immediately wraps the listener with the deep bass sound and through a wise use of the pads and synths kidnaps his mind. When body and mind have reached the perfect union, "Bionic Harp" comes into, breaking these balances, with the body undergoes through a pressing groove and the psyche intent on the perception of a harp melody, which echoing far away like a vague foggy memory.

The B-side begins with a Utopian and almost catastrophic vision that "System Failure" paints, through scratching and repetitive sounds, alarming and catapulting the listener into a dark and distressful nightmare. To conclude and restore calm in this comings and goings of dreams and memories, Deepbass's adaptation of "Bionic Harp", which highlights the dreamlike atmospheres, creating a sound landscape rich of air and light.

New release by one of Berlin’s most unique and long standing producers. Patrick Stottrop’s activities are at the heart and foundation of Berlin’s Techno sound, active since 1996 and founder of Zhark Recordings, he’s been pushing and challenging the definition of dance music since it’s inception.
On this release we find the title track “Legeia” as well as the tracks “Die Erwartung” and “Richmond”, taken from The Garden of Time LP recoding session from 2019. These 3 tracks set the prevailing mood for 2 subsequent cuts, “Horus” and “Sorcerer”. While Richmond follows a more andante direction “Legeia” presents a unique combination of drones engulfed in a wild & hectic Technoid percussive Inferno. “Die Erwartung” on the other hand might resemble in its overall mood the Rheingold Prelude (in a higher register) with its drone like strings layer build up. wHILE “Horus” and “Sorcere” are recent tracks form KAREEMs current live set and were recently arranged to fit into the EP format. Both tracks build on static percussive hostility and climax towards their middle parts to an overall acoustic orgy of reverberating string strikes and high-pitched drone oscillations. An over all grand addition to his continuously growing and ecstatic catalog.

Original soft boy Larry shoots out lemon water on SH006 and welcomes a side of Cocktail Party Effect remix gobble. The Kauz EP sounds rushed but some sonic aesthetics have been considered. Particularly where 'bleak' and 'digital' are married with 'uplifting' and 'personal' themes. All considered, swinging fists and other beaters are present in the form of drums that help take the edge off. Cocktail's Party Effect doesn't hurt too much until you stick it up really loud but don't lose yourself - you are just another human after all.

Really serious sh**t developed by 4 Chicago prodigies, for the first of our compilation called " The Spacy Saga".

We have the honour to welcome the Dublin based Doug Cooney. Doug Cooney drops his EP, "Claim A Wake" on Eternal Friction Records, containing three original tracks and a remix by no other artist than Jon Hester. The result is a powerful EP, that clearly demonstrates Doug's unique and personal approach to contemporary techno. The balance between the rolling drums and the uplifting percussion are capable of bringing listeners into a certain state of mind. The warm and melodic synths fit perfectly into many layers of each track. Although these tracks are all fairly different from each other, they are all produced in the same effective and delicate style. They make for an interesting EP, reason enough to follow this promising artist every move from now on.

NC008 see's the return of Navy Cut's debut release artist - Leo James. Presenting two incredible dub-techno inspired slow burners, featuring the mesmerising and soulful vocals of J Appiah.

James exclusively showcases a deeper, simpler and more progressive side to his productions for Navy Cut. The alias of Dom Howard/Ruckspin; widely known for his production and engineering for Submotion Orchestra and Author, with several acclaimed albums and worldwide tours under his belt since his 2001 production debut.

J Appiah, a singer/songwriter from Hackney, East London, who's work is autobiographical, often rooted in, and taking shape from life experience and whatever sounds he's immersed in at present. A highly sought after vocalist, and artist in his own right; his thoughtfully crafted melodies and lyrics are beyond impressive and refreshing. An artist true to himself and his feelings, Appiah's music conveys to us what it is to feel alive and human in the world.

Luigi Madonna joins Joseph Capriati's Redimension imprint with three atmospheric techno cuts entitled 'The Colours Of The Day EP'.

Since 2008 renowned Italian artist Luigi Madonna has released on Plus 8, Drumcode, Second State and Octopus, alongside performing across the globe including at Awakenings, Amnesia, fabric, Watergate and Sound Museum Vision in Tokyo. Now, continuing to expand his awe-inspiring catalogue and place
amongst the wider techno community, he brings his thundering and infectiously rhythmic techno to Redimension.

'Midnight Sun' opens with flying synths, cantering drums and spaciously sweeping snares that briskly fuels the audio journey into techno bliss. On the flip, 'Dark Yellow' drives with industrial kicks, layered claps, saturated keys and propulsive percussion until 'Dark Grey' concludes with zapping stabs, subtly emerging bass and polished cymbal patterns.

Following on from ‘One Sound / Myth’, ‘King’ is the second in a trilogy of EPs for EPM Music by Mark Broom.

Where the first EP featured Mark’s classic techno skills, on his ‘King EP’ we get another side to Broom, although anyone familiar with his huge catalogue of releases or tight DJ sets will already know there’s more to the UK maestro than straight-up techno.

From the get go on his ‘King EP’, Broom delivers peak time heat. The EP features three new cuts where house meets UK techno. The title track is intensely addictive, with its tough, tracky groove, stomping bassline and woven disco sample. ‘77’ and ‘LX’ continue the theme but with a deeper quality. The former is a dizzying number that could have easily come out of the windy city, but pauses here and there for a touch of UK flavour, while the latter is a looped stomper, with it’s piano refrain and compact beats.Also featured on the EP is a stripped-back remix of ‘King’ from Bek Audio’s Gary Beck who cuts away from the disco, leaves the stabs and biting groove, but adds an epic sweep to autograph his work.

Our first analysis of frequencies from the void above resulted in a message relayed from a planet ravaged by magnetic storms! "FTVA001" compiles four cuts by veteran artist Muten with an exceptional take on acid house, techno and electro, including a collaboration with Nacho CL.

On the A-Side, the release opens with Las Piedras Crew, a fast-paced thriller with a driving acid synth. A2, Sucubo, an acid house extravaganza filled with electric ambients and textures coupled with a driving groove. On the B-Side we have Inverisón Polar, an exceptional take on classic trance style techno perfect for a high-energy dancefloor.

Closing the release is the collab track Quasar, a gloomy but powerful track showing the best of the uruguayan old and new schools, showcasing nothing but talent and exceptional sound design.

The "Vorm Variaties" tracks were a "Style Excercise" for Tyrell, flexing his producermuscle while health issues forced him to stop touring. Third release on Winthorpe is from Dublin based producer - DeFeKT. A tireless advocate of true electro and techno who has been steadily honing his hardware modular based sound for the last few years. Familiar to many via a slew of 12?? eps and remixes an array of top labels including Electronic Explorations, Convex Industries, Solar One Music, AC Records, Cultivated Electronics, Boysnoize Records and a collaboration with Sunil Sharpe, under the name Tinfoil with five 12?s and an LP on their own self-titled label this four track EP is arguably his most accomplished yet.

Do or Die has already made an impression on Nicolas Lutz's My Own Jupiter and now makes a sideways step to Binh's Time Passages, another label associated with a deep digging selection of underground DJs who are some of the most revered of the moment. Opener "90s" makes you wanna scream "aciiiiiiiiid" at the top of your voice, "EBM" channels some old school rave, breakbeat and techno vibes with its energetic drum patterns and bleeping synths. The title track is the most unusual of the lot, pairing withering synth lines with metallic drums and distorted drones that all add up to some powerful, warehouse-ready sounds.

Alexander Kowalski (d_func.) and Alan Oldham (DJ T-1000) team up on this amazing EP and unleash a techno beast that will leave serious damage on any dancefloor around the globe. Syntax Error
Exactly this world of the deep and groovy techno music is the well-known territory of Syntax Error. Having started as techno DJ in the late 90ies, he soon found his very special sound favoring deep wobbly bass-lines, harsh snares, FM tones and drones, deep bass drums and tricky percussion. Ultimately, we round off this EP with a massive, experimental remix of “White Tower” by Cologne-based producer Patrik Berg.

Delsin's Mantis series expands its remit with the arrival of Italian duo natural/electronic.system. Already well-established as connoisseurs of deep techno via releases on Tikita and years of DJing at places like Labyrinth festival, Antonio Giova and Valerio Gomez de Ayala present four luxurious sound baths that occupy a space between techno and ambient - always propulsive and rhythmical, but with a huge emphasis on space and harmony.

Tresor Records celebrates the return of Psyk on its catalogue, with his new album 'A Moment Before'. This is Psyk's first long player since his debut "Time Foundation" on Luke Slater's Mote Evolver imprint.
The Spanish producer released his first single for Tresor, 'Works' , in 2015. Four years later, the production of 'A Moment Before' comes as natural progression, within the cosmos of the Berlin techno mothership for Psyk.
The album is undoubtedly Psyk's most advanced piece of work to date. It dialogs with practices in reduced forms of techno, as originated by artists like Robert Hood, through the recently re-released "Internal Empire" on Tresor.

Tripeo collaborates with fellow Dutch artist Cadans on his self-titled imprint with three original cuts entitled ‘Non Perfect Drone Replication’.

Over the years, Darko Esser aka Tripeo has become a truly respected figure within the techno world. Widely known for helming his acclaimed Wolfskuil Records, BALANS and self-titled label where he’s released an array of his own impressive productions, Darko continues to edge out a corner of the techno sphere through a regular gig and release schedule that’s been of consistent quality for over 20 years. ‘Non Perfect Drone Replication’ marks Tripeo’s first release of the new decade seeing him link up with Dutch producer Cadans who has releases on Clone, Neighbourhood and Hardgroove (when not producing drum and bass as Icicle).

‘Drone’ begins with tense atmospheres and haunting leads underneath the humming percussion and oscillating synths that surge as the track progresses before ‘Non PC’ employs energetic rhythms underneath wavering modulations and spectral tones that keeps this peak-time cut enticing through till the end. To finish, ‘Perfect Replication’ offers up an electro cut that’s peppered with a nostalgic yet modern feel through breaky grooves, alleviating pads and stabbing tones.

The third chapter of Overbalance continues the journey through versatile techno shapes with 4 cuts from Unbalance, where signature sounds migrate from rush-hour energy to gloomy off-beat grooves and hypnotic textures. Conceptually balanced, emotionally overbalanced.

The very prolific Zagreb-based producer Ivna Ji kicks off side “Z” mercilessly grooving a bassline down your spine like an itchy virus. Followed up close by Errorbeauty, who has been pushing boundaries through her own label Arkada Records (which she runs along with XOR12). Her track here displays some geniously organic machinerythms into an eerie dystopian escape.

On side “K”, Arsonist Recorder hosts this record with an invasion of microbug machinery in a heavily rocking track that continues to sonically outline the reactive views of this label, only to prepare the listener for UK-based producer and dj Kim Cosmik’s industrialised funk-anthem which concludes this release, masterfully drilling the beat into the floor with a rumbling subbass-message to society.

Distorted Sensory Perception is back with a journey of deep space exploration in the form of their 2nd Various Artists release ‘Outer Solar System’. Featuring a diverse selection of deeper Electro and Techno of the broken beat variety.

The A-side boasts a nostalgic stripped back yet progressive cut ‘Persistence’ from Maltese duo Moodex. Next up, a deep ethereal musical statement ‘Early Morning Hours’ from fellow Maltese producer Sound Synthesis in his unique style.

The B-side opens with the moody, new school heavy hitter ‘Impulse Control’ from French producer and label co-founder Oshkossh. The penultimate track ‘Brainacid v2’ comes in the form of dusty machine music from Italian newcomer Caramel Chameleon that is reminiscent of AFX ambient works. Last but by no means least the record is brought to an epic conclusion with the frantically emotive and intricate ‘Grny89’ from France's Foreign Sequence.

Phase presents two striking, no-nonsense techno cuts for TOKEN85. Each side of Suspended Animation delivers the special kind of face melter that manages to remain sincere without being overly self-serious. Stroke B favours the sensational approach, with a bright and playful lead playing against a hi-hat frenzy in the breakdown. Stroke C is more introverted on surface level, but offers pure chaos instead from its depth.

Some five years after re-launching his Crayon label via a fine EP of vintage "Tracks From The Vault", original 1990s tech-house producer Mark Ambrose serves up more gems from his bulging archives. The quality threshold remains dizzyingly high throughout. Check first "Nightshift (Deeper Mix)", where gentle, alien synth lines and deep space chords tumble down over a heavy analogue bassline and locked-in beats, before turning your attention to the slamming techno beats, looped electronics and mind-mangling TB-303 motifs of "Dusty Acid". Also impressive is "Space Animals", a deliciously dubbed-out affair rich in sub bass and drifting, deep space chords.

One of Poland's freshest exports, if you don't know already, this is Sept and with his 'Mental Statement' EP for our 6th edition. 3x XXL bombs complimented with a heavyweight Joe Farr remix.

Warsaw's Sept is undoubtedly ready for a busy future, emerging well respected from his local scene to becoming an international talent. This ep is an example of some his best pieces to date, in fact they are beasts for the dancefloor. The title track Mental Statement, holds a kinetic energy with an infectious and menacing hook line, along with a taunting vocal 'Live, Die, Repeat'. Bristolian Joe Farr reworks the mayhem in his signature style, adding distortion, hooks and a multitude of devilish drops.

On the flipside more WMD's for the bag, 'Exhale' is a relentless naughty stomper that will slide well into any peak time. As will its dark horse counterpart 'Unleash', never more appropriate has been the saying... last, but not least. This is the type of carnage we endeavour to deliver in our movement, already this track has erupted many a rave played by a select few, with its 90's Jungle like break down, its been begging a track ID for time and now it's out there...

SC016 sees the re-issue of four tracks taken from a little known cassette only release ‘Diet Of Germs’ by British artist and friend Adam Oko. Originally released in 2015 on the now defunct Astro:Dynamics label the four tracks were recorded in Adam’s bedroom studio overlooking Clissold Park in Stoke Newington, London.

Now based in Tokyo but having spent most of his life living between London & Canterbury, as well as producing music and running a regular radio show on NTS radio, Adam also makes mixed media artwork and designs installations & interiors.

All instruments on ‘Diet Of Germs’ were performed by Adam himself except the solo on Suketo which was played by Raven Bush - Kate Bush’s nephew & was actually recorded in Kate’s old studio in South London.

10 tracks by Japanese ambient musician Toshifumi Hinata. Right on point!

'Broken Belief' brings together a selection of recordings by Japanese multi-instrumentalist Toshfumi Hinata drawn from a body of work originally recorded between 1985-1987. Attending Berklee College of Music after spending time living in both the United States and the United Kingdom, Hinata would study under the tutelage of pianist Patricia Laliberte, graduating from the esteemed American school in 1982. Returning to Japan after becoming disillusioned with his classical training, Hinata experimented with many different forms of music. Moving away from depending simply on acoustic instruments, he would instead become entrenched in the possibilities of the latest analog synthesizers being developed at the time.

Toshifumi Hinata's initial idea was to make his first album with just a Prophet 5 and Linn Drum Machine. Tweaking filters and creating intricate sequences, Hinata would record various sounds on analog tapes and overdub many different layers; recording violin, piano and other accompaniments separately later on. It would become a method of working for the musician which he would apply almost entirely throughout this period. A deeply submerged process; one in which he would seek, as he himself puts it, to "weave musical images".

Toshifumi Hinata would go on to record several more albums released only on CD throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, after which he focused mainly on music for TV dramas, commercials and documentaries. Now living in Tokyo he is almost exclusively focused on creating music for documentaries. The period of work released between 1985-1987 is one though that was not only a rich moment in the history of Hinata himself but of Japanese music and electronic music in general.

Transparent Sound founder Orson Bramley and now solo artist delivers a powerful come back in 2019 with a strem of stong releases coming on Orson. Electrix and Pressure Traxx. Calling on Maltese producer ACIDULANT for remix. This is set to be another Transparent Sound Classic. stay tune for album release dates sets....

Ideal Audio presents the fourth and final instalment of Oliver Huntemann and Dubfire's seminal ELEMENTS series. These techno heavyweights have worked together on numerous projects over the years, but it is their Elements collaborations that have shone impressively as a complete body of work. AGUA is the final piece of the music puzzle and completes the series that first saw the light of day back in 2010 with the scorching FUEGO. 

2011 brought us TERRA, firm and powerful with its devastating breakdown. 2013 saw us breathe in the mystical AIRE, harnessing the elements of the previous tracks to build a fresh and magical moment. AGUA, as its name suggests, flows effortlessly, helped in no small part by the sultry vocal of Xenia Beliayeva, but kicks in equal measure. 

Signing off in such style has also lead to Ideal Audio drafting in some heavy weight talent on the remixes. Carl Craig, under his C2 moniker, dives straight in to strip the original to its core. A single drum beat, siren, clap... and then the kick. Petar Dundov twists the original's elements into a bubbling acidic stream that washes over us.  An impressive package for an impressive finale!

Debuting on Rekids, Laurent Garnier & Chambray collaborate for a colossal single entitled ‘Feelin’ Good’ featuring two outstanding remixes from label owner Radio Slave.

Having supported Rekids for many years in his sets across the globe, it only made sense for Laurent Garnier to drop one of his finest productions to date on the label. Although the legendary Frenchman has kept busy producing movie soundtracks (‘Paris Est A Nous’) and remixes in recent years, this is his first full release since 2017. Opening with sporadic battle cries, stabbing claps and powerful bass sequences before rapturous piano melodies come into effect – ‘Feelin’ Good’ is undoubtedly one of this year’s biggest tracks. On the flip, Radio Slave assembles two contrasting remixes that do just as much damage: the first is an atmospheric
number that marches forward using precision kicks, rattling percussion and rising pads, whilst the ‘Revenge Mix’ cranks things up a notch with its crunchy breaks before introducing the original’s blissful keys.

Closing side A from Chiba Japan is modular madman Hisashi Saito aka Hisacid, Rapeman aka the husband behind the sounds of Schmer sister Galcid/Lenacid.
B opens with New York ( via Illnoize ) and Modular producer, as in he produces Modules ( SnazzyFX ) and produces using modules as Dan Snazelle. He's had releases on real labels like JackTone and Trip but wastes his time with us lot out of pity...

Carrying on the '80s revival is Limon Sebon (Matt Vrazo), who has released bassy things as Sinister R and will soon be releasing white labels so you will have no idea who it is or where its coming from. The Reflux is a lonely child who's waiting for their parents to come back from the free party.

I am excited to present the first full release from Balthazar & JackRock on Terminal M. I am playing all three tracks since a few month and always had a huge response. Also I got some goosebumbs when Adam Beyer played „Nymph“ at his set at Awakenings x Drumcode at the Gashouder. I hope you enjoy this release as much as I do! (Monika Kruse)

Having made initial waves on Cold Recordings and Osiris, Eric Baldwin returns now to Tectonic to release his eponymous album ’Cocktail Party Effect’, bringing his South London roots to Berlin for an all-weekender, under strobe lights.

Drawn by his appetite for powerful rhythmical forms and inspired by the likes of Daphne Oram, The Residents and Captain Beefheart - Eric takes uses background in sound design, knowledge of hacking VST software and adapted spring reverbs and other hardware, to create a truly unique vision of contemporary electronic music. It sits somewhere between Jeff Mills, Aphex Twin & Squarepusher - held together by a connective UK Bass Music spinal chord. A weird but intriguing beast.

We open the track with Japanese cocktail recipes, before moving into the only vocal track of the album, ‘Talking To Bricks’ featuring Bristol vocalist Redders on fine form - charged with disjointed energy and run ragged across a technologically charged dancehall style beat. The LP progresses through the rolling breaks and bleeps of ‘For The Memory Exchange’, into an IDM side-step in the shape of ‘Brutalism’, moving into the gentle, beautiful flickering glitches of ‘PDA’, before we get to the hyperactive twitching alien charge of ‘War On Codex’.

Taking a leap in another direction, we reach ‘Cause For Bad Shelving’, which sounds a bit like Squarepusher when he was on late 90s, immaculate form - taking the tempo up a few notches, while building melancholy. ‘Lack Of Wrong Format’ then gives us a moment to breathe, before diving into ‘Deerhorn’ which brings us right back to the dancefloor. Things are then turned inside out with the jittery wonder of ‘I Get It (Lost Banknote)’, redirected via the industrial clangs of ‘Low_Rise’, before rounding off our sonic adventure with the ponderous tones of ‘Loner’ - which leave you glowing and drifting off into space.

A bold album that’s just brim with a strong sense of originality, direction and grand narrative. From international dancefloors to post-clubbing ear-worms, Cocktail Party Effect is just getting started and you’ll be hearing his name more and more now.

As Juno so nicely put it. “There is little to nothing that we know about the enigmatic Facket Strejkar, but what we're hearing is certainly placing the producers firmly onto our radars, and we expect plenty of imitators to come busting through real soon”.

Here they are once again with no shame attached. You can call it what you want but they put out everything from synth-pop to proper techno bangers in their own way. This time they deliver a tune that is more ebm than ebm should be. Proper basslines with killer vocals and a twisted “Brighton techno” riff. Old meets old meets something new.

On top off that they have scored some brilliant remixes. First off is the legendary green haircut guy from the Depeche101 movie who we call Oliver Chesler aka The Horrorist. Bringing the 909 hardcore back to where it always should have been.

Second up is the magnificent diva Bizz O.D. whom we haven’t seen since the mid 90´s when she got lost in new york running the classic Temple Records shop. But she keeps on sending us lost DAT tapes and come and play for our parties from time to time. Diva funk.

Last but not least we have the wonderful Blush Response from the Aufnahme + Widergabe and Sonic Groove fame and lately also been working as a part of Front Line Assembly. Mental Cuban industtrial digital punk, yes its a genre from now on, at its best.

Alien planets come in all shapes and dimensions. We know these planets as exoplanets or extrasolar planets orbiting around the stars outside our solar system, but there are few unknown planets out there. "From Planet To Planet" is our handbook signed by Mike Storm, a guide to the outside space, an unknown territory related and transposed in pure sound, a trip among the astronomical objects deed to discover the identity of the observable universe.
