Mascon - Analog Vision 2x12"

Four youths are exploring unused buildings in a warehouse district when they stumble upon a lone wire running between the buildings. They follow along as it snakes between walls and under gates until they find it connected to a set of speakers. Looking over the wires they read the worn text 'AK0511' aloud. A second later, the cracked speakers begins to output an electro type beat which catches them off guard, but continues to grow louder. While it sounds good, it is still unusual and they look at each other and start to back away. Overtaken with curiosity, one of the kids runs the other way wanting to find where the wire goes....

Talker - Battle Standards Remixes

After unanimous praise for Talker's "Battle Standards" and play from the likes of Ancient Methods, Headless Horseman, Sunil Sharpe, Mumdance, Shifted and many others, Standards & Practices returns with a powerful set of remixes from iconic UK techno artists Surgeon, Regis, and Broken English Club.

Anthony Child kicks off the proceedings with his first remix in a year, and it's one of his best to date. His version of "Battle Standard" takes the track in a radically different direction, building a hair-raising wall of sound culminating in an unforgettable melodic refrain-beautiful and brutal in classic Surgeon fashion. The A2 track is a special bonus: a Talker cut only previously available on a limited edition CD compilation. Entitled "My Favorite Color Is Gold", this is a dark and cinematic ambient take on "(Gold) Standard".

On the flip, Oliver Ho delivers a remix of DJ favorite "Snub Nose" under his Broken English Club alias. His overhaul is nothing short of remarkable - only retaining a segment of the original drum track, he adds a post-punk-esque vocal while a vicious, monotone bassline snarls underneath, sounding like it slithered off of a Big Black LP sometime around 1985. Regis closes the EP with his brilliant broken-beat take on "Battle Standard", stripping the original to its essentials for maximum dancefloor impact.

As with the label's previous EPs from Stave and Talker, this package features stunning full-color sleeve art from acclaimed graphic design studio Common Name, and a limited number are pressed on silver colored vinyl.

Gilgamesh

12inchSTONEDWAVE003
Stonedwave
24.11.2017

* Gilgamesh was an ancient hero who stood in the middle during the conflict between the good and the bad side.
The Epic of Gilgamesh is an epic poem from ancient Mesopotamia. Dating from the Third Dynasty of Ur
(circa 2100 BC), it is often regarded as the first great work of literature. The record is split up into
2 moods. There is "fire" on the A-Side and "water" on the B-Side.

A1 -
Might remind of a wellknown homework tune by a french duo combined with the quirky tempest of an old djax up
tune and the wonkyness of 1997´s sativae world. The tune was created with a magic machine from Sweden. Analog filter sweeps and bleeps are the crown of a solid bass fundament and are companied by synth leads which rather are guitars screaming into endless space of the club inside your head. this is the "survival of the twisted".

A2 - Saphrax: vocoders on top of your idm beat fundament and drum and bass style reece basslines
which are faded and cut in each other. a quick rollercoaster trip

A3 - Part of the "Dunkel" concept album which is loosely spread over various records. Dunkel35 is a techno tempest with another warhammer 40 k allusion. The listener experiences metallic frequency modulation effects, a tempest of sound with almost hearable promises of bass and the secrets of the unconsious rave while we travelling through the warp . Phasers, Pan effects and choirs from beyond make transform the overall image.

B1 - Underworld Metropolis: The title might already suggest it, the kicks and snare drums as well as the synth leads confirm it: Between submarine detroit like aquanautics and dutch electro experiments the track is a hommage to the
wonderfull works of a cologne producer who suddenly left this world in 2003.

B2 - Underworld Metropolis ( Clubmix ):
Same concept, less melodies, more hypnosis, glitch and
: fat. the clubversion of B1

Dar Embarks & Johan Platt - The Pondular Divide Ep

Following up with the Llarose EP by JoeFarr comes a split EP with different takes on what should make you jack. Dar Embarks, a duo hailing from Chicago lay out two tracks as a precursor to more to come. Tracky and acidic Spyboss will appease the inner bleep while Zeddmore will fit and hit with the heaviest you've got. Johan Platt of Finland covers the opposite side of this EP with two attacks on jack himself. Ranttali is a throwback to Armani and ACV days of distortion and punch while Wailer slows it down and lets the swing fill the space.

Objects Limited
24.11.2017

* Back with the heat, Chicago native DJ Jana Rush kicks off Objects Limited's 2017 with her debut album 'Pariah'. Jana Rush received attention for her mind-bending drum acrobatics on last year's 'MPC 7635' EP also released by Objects Ltd. Jana started djing aged just 13, releasing her first record on Dance Mania back in 1996 but having a hiatus from music between 2000 to 2013. With 'Pariah' she has created an album rooted in Chicago's footwork sound, but with a myriad of influences, such as jungle, acid, soul, jazz and house, developing her sound on from 'MPC 7635'. By popular demand from a kickstarter, now on vinyl!

* We kick off with 'Midline Shift' whose breathy, clipped erotic vocals intertwine with a pulsing bass and dry 808 rims creating a shimmering robotic effect. Moving on, the frantic 'Beat Maze' confuses the mind with white noise rushes and interlocking snares. Changing the scene, 'Divine' is sweetly soporific and charming, a beautiful, almost eerie track. The pace picks right back up with ' ', whose warbling jazz clarinets cut into a juke bounce. The stripped back beats of 'Break It' give one room to breathe before the croaking bass and distorted acid of 'No Fuks Given'. 'Old Skool' is exactly what you'd expect, its sample syncopated around a feverish rhythm throughout. Both 'Rapid Fire' and 'Acid Tech 2' are bangers, hitting you deep in that sweet spot. Jana brings it back down with 'CPU''s computer noises and sub bass hits. 'Chill Mode' gives time for reflection after all that fire, but its no ambient track, theres still that Chi-Town vibe. We finish with 'Frenetic Snare' whose Amen breaks will have Brits thinking of jungle, but it's a different beast altogether.

Terrence Dixon, Evod, Oisel - Cyclical Vortex

Evod Music is glad to welcome Terrence Dixon, one of the techno legends from Detroit. He needs no presentation, his career started 20 years ago and continues to influence current techno musicians. This release is splitted with the second collaboration of Evod & Oisel. The Copy from Terrence Dixon is an intersected, turbulent track with a violent sequence accompanied by a gloomy drum pattern and futuristic/synthetic sound raids, Dyno is a freezing drone, it's rarefied and a perfect bridge for the introduction of All Around that reminds of Dixon's "Minimalism Series" thanks to his few elements expertly fused together. The B side is from Evod & Oisel, Nebula is a concatenation of spaced fm sequences and resonant, fast intrusions of sci-fi sounds, Fusione is an alternation of refinement and strength, with very minimalistic patterns and sounds, the last track on B side is a pure, synthetic 3 minutes tool.

Rome native Marco Piovesan is a DJ's producer. His driving style, pristine sound quality and nuanced tones makes his techno of the variety that draws bodies to the dance floor, and keeps them there. 2013 was his breakout year which saw releases land on Gynoid Audio, M_REC LTD.. That same year Piovesan launched his own enterprise, H.omevvork Recordings, as a haven for richly emotive techno music imbued in '90s spirit. To date it's three EP's have been remixed by luminaries such as Giorgio Gigli, Daub and M_REC LTD's sadly departed chief Max_M.

Piovesan joined the Key roster soon after as part of a split EP with another (then) up-and-comer, Hector Oaks. His two works, Black Paranoid 7' and Black Paranoid 10', were clean, steely DJ fodder underscored with a dark energy that made both of them potent club weapons. Now Piovesan returns with four cuts of surging, remorseless marching material design to tear up strobe-lit basements and big room halls alike. For DJs who take no prisoners, who enjoy calling on the old techno ghosts too.

Vin Sol - Moonchild Ep

There is no artist in the history of our label that we have given a harder time to than Vin Sol. At some point between us rejecting killer track after killer track he must have given up, pushing out his orphan tunes on other labels while we took our sweet time. We finally made our peace, and selected the four tracks that encompass the Moonchild EP you have here...
You see, Vin and Hny have history and to make this marriage official we needed it to be just right. Big daddy Vincente might be known around the world for his sure-fire dance-floor bombs, but not as commonly known for his Queer Ally reputation in San Francisco. Using his production prowess and dj knowledge to help bring up the Bay Area gay dance scene has built him a fanbase of all walks of life. We think this might be his most accomplished musical work to date, not just because it is for our label, but because it's a labor of love.
The EP reads like a metaphor for the two sides of the city where it was made. Moonchild and Electrical Storms reminisce the mystical and spiritual love affair San Francisco has had since the 60s while Patronize and Bondage Taped reference the sexually adventurous side the city indoctrinates to all its visitors. This record feels big to us and mostly because it reps our home and a hometown hero so hard. Enjoy.

Unordained, brutal, and led by the rhythm of heavy bass and massive drums, Disorder is an unrestrained EP, conceived in an
atmosphere of distortion, edging on a certain experimental techno, equivocating between noise music and musique bruitiste.
As if, here, techno were a tool of vengeance, a violent revelation with the appearance of redemption, the pieces succeed each other without any glimmer of hope appearing, and the sounds with the abrasive textures come to coil round fast and broken sequences. Times are marked on each pulsation, regular and relentless. The frequencies evolve in progressions designed to install a particular tension. in "Contact" Some voices hidden by the filtering of a radio announce to the stoic listener and the sweaty dancers what they already foreshadowed: communication is blurred, impossible and painful. In a word, modern.

BLACKSTROBE RECORDS
20.11.2017

Following two Eps, ''La Machina'' and ''Technopiano'', Fabrizio Rat releases his first album of hybrid techno, with an innovative sound palette. The Pianist combines the acoustic sounds and weird harmonics of his prepared piano with the acid loops of the TB-303 and the beats of the TR-909. « I'm much attracted by a certain type of techno, based on the purity of sound. This music can really approach abstraction, the immateriality of thought and ideas. » A track like Aimard', for example, is characteristic of his ambition. « It's a sort of tunnel. It does not develop apart from a few 'turning points', in a similar way to lots of tracks by Jeff Mills, who has been a big inspiration to me for a long time. I feel attracted to his radical approach to techno and his taste of sonic exploration. Many tracks by him have an incredible character. As the records starts, you're all of a sudden facing a new world. That's exactly what I am most interested in, to find a strong vibe of a track, much more then constructing a form with evolution and surprises. » Gould', just before Aimard' in the record, has the same strength but plays with rhythmic elements in a more subtle way. « It's not really techno, but still hypnotic. The first version of it had lots of 909 in it, which has been little by little removed, following the advices of Arnaud Rebotini who coproduced the album and released it on his label. Arnaud pushed me towards a more radical and extreme direction, putting the piano on the forefront and simplifying the rhythmical patterns, to be more effective. This gives to the final result more impact I think.»

On the heels of 2015's hyperactive Longanimity EP on Leisure System and the recent Sense of Purpose LP via Bloc Records, JoeFarr returns to Leisure System with the Spectate EP, another tactile and punishing contribution to the ongoing GRIDLOCK series complete with an incredible remix from sound scientist Max Cooper.
Farr throws down heavy drum grooves on title track Spectate,' with hi-hats and synth zaps creating malevolent movement around a blurry vocal sample. Teetering on the edge of total malfunction, it lurches and leaps in beguilingly twitchy ways. Max Cooper explodes the track on his remix, offering increasingly distorted sections that lure in the listener before shattering the structure. On the flip side, Comp Killer' and In Focus' are two slices of deliciously raw techno, featuring shuddering bass and searing melodies sure to split open any dance floor.
The fifth edition in Leisure System's ongoing GRIDLOCK 12' series, the Spectate EP is yet another example of JoeFarr's able hand at creating fierce, infectious, and irregular techno.

Then we move to the second track " Light Pollution " Another proper deep rendering if I may add and those high hats that just move the track into the proper scenic vibe, very minimal but to the point with the pads just poking its head out to go forth with the flow of the vocal . Last but not least we have "Echopark"this track closes out the ep with its very bouncy acid sounds and it's minimalistic drum patterns makes for a very melodic sound ....We at Finale Sessions want to thank you from the bottoms of our hearts and we love you very much

Performing solely as a live act, his improvised transmissions echo through the walls of clubs like Fabric, Berghain, Concrete, Panorama Bar and festivals of the calibre of Sonar, Audioriver and EXIT, either alone or under the guise of CW/A.

Fabrice Lig - 3 Black Stones Treated By Heiko Laux

As Fabrice Lig has contributed to the Kanzleramt History - we are returning the favour and congratulate with this release to his 25th Stage-Anniversary!
Black Stone is taken from 'Universal Tech EP' of 2003 (ka089 12'' digi). Its powerful sequence was always considered as one of the best ever to be exposed on Kanzleramt. So more than deserving and about damn time 3 new Black Stones emerge: polished into an epic set-starter or the jet-black time-lapsed grinding and compressing in the earth's crust or raw acid washed. Heiko leaves the choice to you.

GET WEIRD
06.02.2017

Hailing from Brazil and since moved to Toronto Get Weird welcomes Hauy. Music crafted to be played in the clubs or the deserts, these three tracks chart an important journey for Hauy. Each a part of his recent journey and growth.
Amanita is a magic mushroom (Amanita Muscaria) that took him to a place where he felt no longer with the living. A place of truth where he would no longer lie to himself. After finding his truth and coming back to the land of the living, he decided to express the feelings of his journey through his music.
He further pondered what it all meant. The initial darkness of the trip and its aftermath, gave way to a more positive light. As he felt more and more positive, another song floated in to his mind. Your way to paradise is the sunrise after the darkness.
Blue Moon wasn't originally a part of this musical journey but now seems relevant to represent how he felt before the experience, as a part of his full circle, completing a personal expedition and exploration to our latest release.

'Pearls' sees deep notes and stuttering percussion join echoing French vocals for a stripped-back exhibition of mesmerising house. 'Feeling' integrates sultry chords with syncopated drums whilst a whispering voice ebbs in and out of the mix. Evigt Mörker, known for appearances on Semantica Records and Konstrukt, then steps up for a rhythmic and ethereal rendition of 'Pearls'.

Kamera - Consignia Remixes 1

Forceful, industrial and acidic, Kamera's 'Consignia', taken from his EP 'Ventoux', arrives reworked by two producers each as uncompromising as the source material.
Truncate steps up to delivers a remix that further encapsulates his precise vision of deep, raw techno. Choosing to boldly strip back the foundations of the original track, his powerful rework performs subtle but precise surgery, creating a tense masterpiece of sustain and release, enveloping the dancefloor in thunderous claps and jittering rave samples.
Meanwhile, the so far elusive Yaleesa Hall is tapped for an offbeat, dub version of Consignia, twisting the track into something altogether darker and stranger. A muddied, dare we say filthy bassline supports a chaotic framework of unpredictable drum patterns and mechanized noise, while still maintaining a hallucinogenic groove as the track's original elements gasp for air underneath.

For Timedance's ninth release the label has took the opportunity to offer some of it's favourite artists a chance to remix tracks from the back catalogue. 'Remixes -1' opens with a Stenny remix of Lurka's 'Beater'. The Illian Tape producer warps the drums from the original into his trademark cavernous rhythms, while dread filled drones circle in the background. Asusu takes Bruce's 'I'm Alright Mate' and twists the sounds into a techno trip, it's as subtle as it is banging, with impressive definition and depth. For the final remix, Bruce's 'Post Rave Wrestle' is flipped by Mosca into a low slung, spooky groover utilising wild feedback loops alongside distant haunting shouts. The three remixes are all as playable as they are interesting, fitting the aesthetic of the Bristol label.

The British producer has become one of modern dance music's most pioneering figures, having produced four full-length albums, various EPs and contributed mix albums to renowned series such as DJ Kicks, Fabric, and for Berghain's Ostgut Ton label over the last decade. Donning the SCB name in 2010, Paul Rose's pseudonym for esoteric techno found home on labels like Aus, Nonplus and Hotflush Recordings, not to mention its own eponymous imprint.

Dating back to the fledgling early days of the label Tales From the Second Moon by Apogee was the first of many
Peacefrog releases by Dan Curtin.
As with Dan's other early releases Tales From the Second Moon 's angular dancefloor groove borrowed from the
original Motor City blueprint with a melodic sensibility that was drenched in the kind of yearning melancholy that
suggested either pain of a heartbroken lover or the brittle dislocation of someone who longed to be transported to a

The acid, strings and complex rhythms contained on this EP originally released in 1993 were soon to become

Reworkings of classic tracks just wouldn't be the same without an accompanying vinyl release.
On this 12" we've selected three sublime cuts to fill out the grooves and deliver the ultimate listening experience.

Side A features Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth (Charlotte de Witte Remix) which offers a raid on the senses thanks to Charlotte's contemporary take. Expect sizzling melodies and a driving Techno groove. Side B1 holds Lefto's remix of Thunderball - Bonzai Channel One which dishes out a pumping tech fuelled vibe full of scathing synths and that iconic vocal we all know and love, one for the big events here. Manhattan to Berlin
Our story has touchstones in Detroit, Birmingham, Sheffield, and Berlin, but it begins with some prophetic foreshadowing in a midnight Manhattan car ride. It was a cold winter night in early 2006, and Dave Sumner, better known as Function, wanted to show me what inspired him, so we got in his car and drove around the perimeter of Manhattan. From the financial district to Harlem, all the city lights, rivers, bridges, and even giant buildings shrunk in comparison to the sounds we were listening to. Dave had found a new path in techno, and as he obsessively talked about the British Murder Boys and the work of Mika Vainio, he focused in on his latest influence: Sleeparchive. As we were listening to a recent Sleeparchive live show, we were basically freaking out at how clearly you could hear the reflected influences, but really how fresh and innovative it felt. Elements of Plastikman's take on jacking raw rhythms collided with Sähkö bleeps for a powerful post-Jeff Mills form of techno. It was acid without acid. Finally a way forward.
The next year on a humid summer night in Berlin, Dave and Karl O'Connor, better known as Regis, were sitting with their laptops back to back at 2 am in his apartment. 'They were set up Battleship style, it was like the cover to Upstairs at Eric's,' recalls Dave. He was playing Karl selections of his new music when Karl stopped him and said, 'This is your new record.' They worked through the night and within a day the record was done; Dave was so inspired he decided to move there, to 'techno Mecca.' He returned to NYC to get ready, and three months later, on the day he moved to Berlin, his record was released as Isolation on Sandwell District and was named DJ Magazine's 12 Inch of the Month. He then set up his studio in the warehouse of Tony Vieira, who had run Integrale Muzique with Karl, and is literally surrounded by records. He makes his new records with those records doubling as his soundproofing and audience.
Sandwell District
Sandwell District is a literal place — the Black Country — where the industrial revolution began. It's one of the many Dadaesque references in the Integrale catalog. The whole thing has this major punk DIY spirit, best characterized by the line from the Desperate Bicycles: 'it was easy, it was cheap, go and do it!'
Sandwell District quickly evolved from a label into a music project with a distinctly egoless and mysterious approach. They functioned around the motto of 'Decentralizing the artist ego, blurring the lines between the artist, label and DJ; re-arranging the DNA of modern dance music.'
The first record on Sandwell was by Regis, followed by records from Juan Mendez as Silent Servant and Dave as Function; soon they would all release collectively. Sandwell District was a more mature response, the second stage of a career with the disparate influences absorbed, digested, and slowed down, yet somehow more emotional. The combined musical knowledge of these three was magic; all bases were covered. Juan created the powerful visual language of Sandwell and was the glue, while Karl and Dave became the engine driving Sandwell District live.
Sandwell peaked with some legendary live shows, from closing the mainstage at Sonar to playing the Park Hill Flats in Sheffield for Black Dog, with Cabaret Voltaire's Richard H Kirk pogoing onstage during the performance. Later, Rrose would become an integral part of Sandwell, right before they broke up at the height of their popularity, in the spirit of their heroes Big Black. 'It was a glorious death, not a mercy killing, as is so often the case in these situations,' Sandwell said through a statement from Silent Servant. Dave then went on to record his debut solo album Incubation for Ostgut Ton and revived Infrastructure.
The Next Phase
Sometimes the only way forward is to look backwards. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it, as the saying goes. So what you hold in your hands, Recompiled I/II & II/II, is an attempt to understand what has happened and to liberate the artist from the burden of their own oeuvre.
Moving forward, Function is still connecting the dots with his DJing around the globe, with residencies at Berghain in Berlin and Bassani in Tbilisi, Georgia. Collaborations with techno super heroes continue, in projects like LSD with Luke Slater and Steve Bicknell and his work with Damon Wild. Who knows what the future holds New music, new collaborations, new developments in sound — places for new ideas to thrive.
In Detroit, we wanted to see society evolve; Detroit Techno was about the future. Techno at Berghain is about losing yourself; it's about personal freedom. Function has created the perfect soundtrack for that experience. 'Techno is reflective,' according to Dave. 'It taps into another emotion that nothing else gives me.'
Words by Brendan M. Gillen, Interdimensional Transmissions, Detroit, 2017.

Bpmf - Abide The Glide Volume 4

As BPMF started making techno again, he surveyed his techno friends asking them what it was about his music they found the most annoying. The answers TR-606 hi-hats and portamento.
He proceeded to focus on these aspects of his music and today the results are here: "Abide the Glide Volume 4" wherein BPMF is pushing all the right buttons to get the DJ thinking about the sounds their pumpin. Jamie Morris provides an excellent DJ freindly remix of "Even Straighter", taking BPMF's idea and going even straighter.Old Man Raver Pants" proves that a 50 year old man can still party, so long as he's wearing his raver pants and while there's been alot of talk about alternative facts, "Alt-Slacks" is a dub inspired jam that seems like it's narrative might fall apart at anytime.Schmer label head BPMF has been making electronic music since 1984. As Free World released cassettes, was entered by WFCS into CMJ's Best Unsigned Bands competition and in 1985 earned the duo a spot on an Epic Records compilation. In 1986 they released "Amagi", an eclectic collection of experimental electronica inspired by underground new wave and industrial music of the 80s.BPMF and Taylor Deupree formed Decameron and released two cassettes on Havoc Music. Some tracks would appear on early techno CD compilations under pseudonyms. Havoc Music's own compilation "Techno Criminal Sub Cultures" is where BPMF first appeared in 1991.
With Dietrich Schoenemann and Taylor Deupree, BPMF assembled classic early 80s analog gear and as Prototype 909 they released "Acid Technology" on Instinct records; performed their first live show, met Abe Duque who invited all of his techno friends to the legendary Limelight Club in NYC. BPMF brought records and gear jammed live with them. The Rancho Relaxo All-Stars would release three albums and tour Europe together even destroying the original Ultraschall in Munich, quite literally tearing the place down. With John Selway, BPMF channeled early electro and new wave sounds forming Synapse and creating Serotonin Records to bring the funk back and help give birth to the electro revival scene.Prototype 909 recorded four albums and played 70+ shows. Synapse was the first American electro group to play live in Moscow. BPMF released tracks on Serotonin, Schmer, Instinct, Analog/EMF, Tension/Rancho Relaxo Records. His approach to electronic music is hands on and experimental, so more than having a "sound" his music reflects his values: spontaneity and a sense of urgency.

New long player from Manchester's Claro Intelecto. Entitled 'Exhilarator', the 13 track album marks a return to action for the esteemed producer. A cinematic album of icy techno, weighty bass and poignant melody. From plaintive keys and slow motion drums awash with melody to corrugated industrial drums that don't let up, this is a diverse album in both mood and texture. Moments of ambient celestial beauty exist next to breezy and summery grooves while skewed and sludgy acid sits next to serene underwater dub. Mono Junk / Kim Rapatti - A-sides

After releasing brand new material on DUM034, DUM Records are dipping into the label boss's production archives for the next one: it is a reissue that features tracks from a number of classic Mono Junk releases. Two came on Trope Records, one in 1995 and one in 1993, and the last pair of cuts come from 1996 when they were released on Plug Research. Arguably some of the influential Finnish producer's finest work, all of the tracks here emphasize how long he is operating on the top of his game already.
First up is 'A...', a hard hitting techno cut with urgent drums and real menace in the groove. Widescreen synths add soul to the visceral feel of the track and then comes 'Another Acid', which for the first time is being released as a full length track at 6 minutes 26. It was from Mono Junk's first ever Trope EP and is a no nonsense acid banger that kicks like a mule and is riddled with great effects, slithering lines and arresting drums. On the flip side are two tracks from his Mood EP from 1996 written as Kim Rapatti, both sounding as fresh as ever. The first is a blissful and beautifully tripped out deep, Detroit house track and the second is a melodically rich, colourful cut that journeys far off into the galaxy. It's hard to think of these as twenty years old, because they still sounds as essential as they ever did. It's not for nothing they've all been previously released as A-sides...

Broken beats and skippy percussion play back and forth with deep, spacey hooks and a peculiar synth, giving the listener a sense of mystery. Finally, Growing Up Is Just a Phase is a calming 14 minute trip that uses the entirety of the B Side to tell a story of reassurance and calm. Since the beginning of summer 2015, UNC has been DJing in a residency at Sound Department in Taranto, Italy alongside Sleeparchive, TR-101, Heiko Laux, and Adam X to name a few. To start of 2016, UNC will launch a new label of his own 'UNC Series' which will feature collaborations between likeminded artists who are all motivated by the art of creation. To investigate the more exploratory side of the brain, UNC also works under the alias Dubit who released a full-length A/V album, 'Fragmenti' this past March using field recordings from all around Europe. The full-length feature film is coming soon. Dubit, also runs Soluxion Labs for sound design and mastering.

Reggy Van Oers (RVO) has shown himself to be a DJ of class and a highly respected producer over the years. With a clear philosophy on the creation and manipulation of sound we can find his productions played by a large variety of artists across the globe. It is no surprise he is often asked to release on a wide range of labels which also paved the way to collaborate with well respected artists. His music has seen releases on labels like The Gods Planet, Informa, Affin and Green. It is safe to say his deep, minimalistic and atmospheric sound has definitely not gone unnoticed. With his platform Telemorph, a tight bond between all artists involved, he creates a special place for solo releases and fruitful collaborations in order to expand their distinct musical journey. To extend this philosophy even further he founded Morph, with which he brings that same vision of sound to the embodiment of his concept. The artistic freedom and (label)familyspirited feel of the nights allow artists to be fully immersed into their craft. Mindset and artistry are the key pillars of these events.

Antigone - Saudade Ep

Antigone

Saudade Ep

12inchTOKEN59
Token Records
09.03.2016

With over a decade of crate digging behind him, Antigone — real name Antonin Jeanson — has woven the techno canon deep into his sound. But yet, Jeanson is less of a scholar than a renegade when it comes to traditions. Rather than sticking apropos to the rules, he has always found himself pushing up against them. Following a flurry of releases stretching over half decade, 2015 saw Jeanson first appearing on Token for 'Cantor Dust'. This masterful double EP stretched his ambitions even further, and cemented his credentials as a producer. Indeed, the same is still true in 2016, which finds Jeanson at his most accomplished yet.

'Night Adrift' opens Saudade with an unapologetic heaviness. Every single pulse of this track hits the floor like it's a punchbag. Here, Jeanson showcases the physical quality at the root of his sound. In this regard, it's important not to divorce his sound from its live context. After all, this is music to move to, and Jeanson always has this in mind. 'Hiraeth', by contrast closes the EP with a mysterious uncertainty. Harmonic elements swell and emerge throughout, but they exist only in passing before snapping out of earshot. The title, 'Hiraeth', is a Welsh word with no direct translation to English. But roughly translates as "a homesickness for a home you cannot return to, or that never was".

Furthermore, the title of the EP itself, Saudade has a similar reading. 'Saudade' is a Portuguese word that refers to a deep melancholic longing. On this release, it's as if Jeanson is recalling a distant memory, but allowing only fragments to reemerge. The result is an EP that is both wistful and dreamlike. But despite the ethereal territory of Jeanson's music, to think of it as completely unstuck from time and place would be a mistake. His understanding of the genre, and how it functions, comes through loud and clear with every beat.

Token started 2014 with the great Eschaton project, a new collaborative project between Orphx & Ancient Methods.
Now, only a few weeks later, Danish Token representative Ctrls returns.
Movements EP contains 3 fierce new tracks. Mechanical rhythms, whip-crack electronic riffs, insistent robot vocals: Ctrls proved to master these sounds very well on his past EP's and he only seems to perfect his skills on this 4th instalment.

Conventional Never. Powerful Always.

Ctrls - Charge (incl Rrose & Rich Oddie Rmxs)

The new Ctrls record is a peak time affair, powered by a rhythm that is lean and functional. 'Charge' has a pacey funk bass line in the foreground, but whirring and clicking away in the left field are shards of glitchy percussion and unexpected stops and starts.

The b-side has the innovating minds of Rrose & Rich Oddie (one half of Orphx) providing powerful workouts both for the 'heads' and for the floor.

We know the storm caused by Ctrls' last record ('Movements EP' came out in February) hasn't quite calmed down yet, but we just couldn't hold this one back.

This sixth Ctrls record for key Token component Troels B-Knudsen sees the Danish producer continue to supply the Belgian label with a mechanical sound distinct from his counterparts Inigo Kennedy and Ø (Phase). Formally a drum and bass producer, Ctrls has fully embraced the old school, high-tempo aesthetic Token has long championed, and this three-track Users 12" provides the label with a fresh slab of non-conformist beats designed to fuel the industrial club night. It supplies the Ghent-based operation with its first opus of 2015 which follows a resolute 12 months that saw label owner Kr!z release records by hardened UK techno devotees Surgeon and Makaton, to collaborations by Christian Wünsch and Oscar Mulero and Ancient Methods and Rich Oddie, to Inigo Kennedy's first album for Token and the Aphelion compilation featuring music from Lucy, Rødhåd, Planetary Assault Systems, James Ruskin and Karenn.

Since his debut record in 2012, Ctrls has continually manufactured a high intensity style of minimal techno that combines super-sized beats, basslines and synths to create something so ferocious few techno imprints other than Token could handle. Both "Externalizer" and "Incoming Data" draw inspiration from the same acidic synth-line which is made to fit the rock solid 4/4 beat of the former and the frenetic rhythms of the latter. "The Disparates" on the other hand focuses its attention on box cutting percussion and a caustic vamp of synthetic stabs wrapped in a thin layer of industrial atmospheres. For more of the unrelenting sound Token forever purports, Ctrls delivers yet three more high grade, heavy hitting sessions of unrelenting techno you won't find anywhere else.

Two Worlds

12inchTOKEN55

10.09.2015

Ctrls is an artist somewhat indivisible from Token. All six of his EPs have come out via the label, melding turbo-charged rhythms with gritten, celestial synth-work. Following Ø Phase's sweltering 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12" and an all-start remix EP of Inigo Kennedy's 'Requiem', Ctrls' latest release comes in the form of an ethereal two-tracker - 'Two Worlds' and 'Onto Them'.

'Two Worlds' feels like something of a voyage sonically to say the least. Elysian synth-soundscapes build gracefully across the tracks opening minutes, a beautiful reminder of Ctrls' ability to craft music outside the boundaries of the dancefloor. Glitched-up drum loops are introduced at the opportune moment, stumbling alongside a simmering reduction of the opening section. As the track progresses the two sections build together in perfect harmony, transitioning fluidly between Ctrls' contrasting elements.

The flip-side ventures into harder territories, thumping low-end and biting melodies showing a similar mix of timbres. 'Onto Them' is laced with close-cut delays and groaning spring reverbs, adding a characteristic layer of roughness to Ctrls' precisely engineered production.

While the sound is very much in line with his previous work, there is something effortless about Ctrls' work here. The 'Two Worlds' EP has a flexible, straight-forward quality to it, feeling as though he has hit his stride artistically with an incredibly clear vision.

O [phase] - Tunnel Vision / Internal Conflict

Few artists have made such an undeniable impression on Token as London based Ashley Burchett, aka Ø (Phase). Since debuting on the label in 2006, Burchett has scarcely looked back, releasing an impressive slew of EPs as well as his meticulously crafted debut LP Frames of Reference all via Token. His latest release, the 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' 12" captures perfectly the grainy, oddball approach which has garnered Burchett's productions so much attention in recent years. Following pounding releases by Makaton and Ctrls, as well as the Aphelion compilation on which Burchett featured, 'Tunnel Vision/Internal Conflict' shows a flair and originality rarely matched.

There is little concession made for patient build-ups across the release, 'Tunnel Vision' for example surging forward with pummelling low-end and jagged percussion right from its opening. The track operates at whirlwind speeds, so much so that the combination of Burchett's twirling, ethereal chords and steadily intensifying percussive work is almost overwhelming. 'Internal Conflict (Acts 1-3)' on the other hand flirts with a more old-school brand of techno. Reverberating drum machines cut sharply alongside the incessant stomp of 4/4 kicks, a tortured acid-riff chugging forward relentlessly.

This is techno for the small hours - frantically paced, disorientating and charged with adrenaline. Burchett has maintained fiercely consistent standards as a producer across his assorted releases, and this latest EP for Token is no different - crafting dancefloor techno which is both captivating and hypnotic.

Alone In Time

3x12inchTOKEN57LP 3X12"
Token Records
28.10.2015

(180 gr triple LP incl. CD) Only 2 years after the critically acclaimed 'Frames Of Reference', Ashley Burchett aka Ø (Phase)now presents his sophomore album 'Alone In Time'
Take a look over Ashley Burchett's back catalogue and you'll find the Greater London resident has played an understated yet influential role in purporting British techno. Fifteen years ago Burchett's prevailing Ø (Phase)project debuted on Sheree Rashit and Steve Bicknell's Cosmic Recordings before providing Cosmic ID with its final record in 2002, and since 2007 Burchett's helped mould and define the sound of Token by becoming the label's marquee artist.

In 2013 the Belgian imprint finally coaxed the debut album from Ø (Phase), Frames Of Reference, described in Tony Naylor's 4/5 review for Resident Advisor as, "a techno album of real imagination and depth that, when it needs to be, is brutally functional." Almost two years since its release Ø (Phase)is back with Alone In Time, his second studio album which adds to the continuous slew of unrivalled long players Token has put out of late. Token spreads the 11-tracks on Alone In Time across three heavy weight discs, and the music further demonstrates Burchett's deft skill in linear arrangements shaped to fit the warehouse frame, while painting a colourful, Detroit influenced side to his productions yet to really be heard to this extent before.

This uncharted sound of Ø (Phase)can be found in tracks like "Remote", the album's homage to electro, to the jittery, alien grooves of "Spacialize", "Mo¦del" and "Nep-tune". There's big room domination on productions like "Orbitron" and "R-Mash", while the album's title-track is a journey through Burchett's conceptual references to cosmology, time and isolation. Burchett explains, "it was always an intention to make another album and now just felt like the right time. Life moves on, we change and grow. As lessons get learned and ideas form, the desire to express them gradually manifests."

Furthermore, Burchett adds, "Frames Of Reference was about overcoming personal struggles and challenges, while Alone In Time is more forward facing." With an extensive back catalogue in his wake, Ø (Phase)has become a relied source for the discerning techno DJ and these new, expertly crafted club cuts add to his ever-expanding pool of productions for selectors to choose from, and it's clear, if the bouncing rhythm of "Blind Eye" and orchestral epic of "The Maze" is anything to go by, Ø (Phase)isn't only head strong, but standing tall.

MOTE EVOLVER
11.04.2016

Mote-Evolver welcomes back Psyk (aka Manuel Años) after his strong label debut release, Distane. For his second Mote-Evolver release, Psyk delivers yet another standout effort with four tool-oriented tracks of clean, tight, yet powerful minimalistic approach.

The title track "Arcade" that opens the EP contrasts high-energy thumping drumbeat with a hypnotic layer of syncopated rhythm. Its movement and development is subtle and organic, yet at the same time skillfully elevating the energy with joining clapping beat and hi-hats. Following "Surface" will stay in your mind with its obsessive singularity of monotone balanced with the groove of muted heavy beat. It's a moody number that grabs the listeners' attention with certain tenacity that stays throughout the track.

One might find B-side of Arcade EP slightly funkier; "Intern" is meshed with lighter elements like beeping sounds and clapping, providing the refreshing vibe to the EP. However the carefully crafted dynamic and the simple, pure, and fun personality of "Intern" assures that it's no less powerful tool for the dancefloor. The last track "Somewhere" is perhaps the grooviest track of Arcade EP, thanks to the deep dark dubby bass that's setting the tone properly from the very beginning. Psyk combines and tames energy into a relaxed atmosphere for "Somewhere", giving a breathing room for emotion that draws you deeply into the euphoric moment. With Arcade EP, Psyk is clearly not shying away from showcasing his skills of honing the diverse mood and texture of techno that are highly functional.

Three long years after it last graced our ears, the Parallel Series is back with a new pair of well-established producers. This fifth edition sees Sev Dah and Jeff Rushin take on a side each; the result being four expertly crafted pieces of techno aimed straight for early mornings on darker dance floors.

Sev Dah doesn't mess about, opening the A side with Svarog, a fierce workout with rough rolling percussion and a pleasingly off kilter melodic line. We're then taken deeper with Morana, a winding adventure with the mood of those early Detroit tracks but with the production values of today, and an evolving, transcendental melody sure to take dancers to another place.

Jeff Rushin begins the AA with what has to be the most disorienting track on the release. A distant kick drum disassociates you from the rising intensity of a ringing synth line, before the two gradually fall together with added percussion to bring your head back into the right space. The release ends with Obsolete, a track that quickly disregards its name by filling the audio spectrum with layers of dissonant panning and shuffling hats. This one was clearly produced to bring clubbers to attention and throw a curveball at sets of otherwise traditional techno.

It's shrill echoes from the parking lot carried along the financial district, overturning lobotomised business lunches, attache cases and $50 slick-backs. Nasty club rock fed through biohazard cassettes, doom arcades, sabres and scorpion tattoos - new blood to rock the neighbourhood and a pleasure to welcome Stratton into the fold.

' I find it difficult to finish tracks, so most of mine are made in just one session' Alex reveals. 'I also avoid listening to electronic music when spending time in the studio, because with all those sounds stuck in your head it's hard to keep your originality.'

Bodyjack - Cobra Effect Ep

Firstly, a huge thanks to everyone for supporting us so far - 2016 has seen the DEXT label continuing to go from strength to strength, with our Callahan and Mella Dee EP's backed with remixes from Hodge and Endian which have been been super well received. Now for the third EP of the year from our resident comedian Bodyjack.Bodyjack has been an integral part of DEXT since he remixed Dubspeeka on our 2nd release and headlined our label takeover of Privilege in Ibiza last Summer. We are very excited about his return to the label with this 3-tracker (and our first full solo artist EP!), and we think you're going to dig this...
The title track Cobra Effect is one of those tracks you aren't going forget in a hurry. Intense and brooding, we are hard-pushed to categorise this, but layers of sinister bass coupled with dark, driving snares and eerie synth work culminate masterfully, making this the perfect DEXT track.
Hydra Effect lifts the vibe with a straight up peak-time house jam with a sting in the tail. A raw-but-infectious bassline winds along under Bodyjack's signature killer drum programming, before blasting off with something you aren't going to expect.
Rounding the EP off is Slowine Effect: a proper dancehall workout (reminiscent of Bodyjack's earlier work) and a real cross-genre party starter. The most upbeat of the 3 tracks; this again takes all the elements of what we love about the music from the past and cleverly works them into something special for the rave. And that's not all for Bodyjack on DEXT this year - he will be back with a one-off Ltd record called "Hot Shot", backed with a very Special remixer...but more on that soon!

Cheap Present was formed in 2013 as a collaborative project between Melbourne artists ENV and Luis CL serving as an outlet for the pair to experiment outside of their main musical acts and subsequent genre limitations.
Cheap Present's music is mostly recorded live in the studio with minimal overdubs and draws sounds and influences from various sources. Using old keyboards and samples mixed with digital high definition sounds, the duo create a mixture of raw elements from the techno and dance tradition with a nod to classical melodies and industrial music. Each song features heavy drums to highlight the melodic playfulness of their bass, synth arrangements and humorous but expressive vocals and song titles.
The Anterior mini LP follows on from the duo's Wet Garden cassette earlier in the year and presents a collection of material looking back from the group's creation in 2013 to more recent output. The pair's evolution is clearly on display on the this 12 inch, from initial jam based songs such as Waterproofyouth and Bergwasser, which have a spontaneous metallic edge, to new songs such as Rooftops, which display a more meticulous and mature approach to production."

2x12"

A long time ago, at a festival far, far away, the members of the legendary Borft trio Frak were just going to bed in their tent when something caught their attention. Now, this was well before Frak's rise to international fame - in fact, this moment was Swedish music history in the making, because what they heard was someone playing a Frak tune. That someone turned out to be Kontra-Musik's own Ulf Eriksson and once their paths had crossed, there was no turning back. Frak has since released five highly sought after records on Kontra-Musik and Kontra-Musik White Label. When it was time for a 10-year anniversary gathering in Ulf Eriksson's private garden, Frak of course turned up together with other Kontra artists like TM404 and Rivet. For those present - we few, we happy few - this turned out to be one of the most magical summer nights in living memory. The Swedish word for porch is altan, and so, to honour this wonderful experience of the whole Kontra-Musik family coming together, Frak decided to name their brand new album Altan Gathering. Another great friend of Kontra, Henrik Jonsson aka Porn Sword Tobacco, made the album cover and we wouldn't have it any other way. His aesthetic choice of tin foil is on point: Listening to Frak is a lot like biting into a fresh falafel wrap without first removing the aluminium foil holding the delicious mess together; it's mouth-wateringly warm and moist but at the same time intensely harsh and tough to chew. This might seem like a far fetched analogy but if you've ever went partying in Kontra-Musik's home town Malmo you'll know the feeling. And if you've never been to Malmo, well do stop by someday. It seems, when the stars align, the gatherings here can be the stuff both legends and albums are made of.

First ever vinyl edition of Justin Broadrick's crushing industrial turns as JK Flesh for Hospital Productions, combining the Suicide Estate and Antibiotic Armageddon releases for a greyscale spectrum of brutalist techno / abyssal acid dub / tramadol tribalism / noxious noise textures that's highly recommended if you're into Regis, Birmingham at night, Kareem...
It's an unflinchingly bleak representation of the world described in hard edged techno and shot thru with moments of affective, synthy pathos. In sonic and literal tone, the record forms a stark reflection on Justin K Broadrick Brummie stomping grounds, using demolished tower blocks as cues for some of the album's most affective moments, such as the wrecking ball assault of Bayley Tower (New Mix), the rubbled rolige of Stoneycroft Tower, or the 'marish zumby techno lurch of Bromford Bridge Estate, and all in a way that surely dovetails with the perceptions of anyone who has lived in a built p British area, or anywhere else with lots of
concrete and little sunlight. The other half of the tracks are taken from and titled in reference to Antibiotic Armageddon - the inevitable point when pill-gobbling citizens of the world are no longer protected against old viruses, and new ones. The tone of these cuts is understandably bleak af, too. Tamiflu dry-wretches a windswept passage of bummed-out dub techno breaks, where Squalene (New Mix])glumly follows suit with the clammy synth malaise of Ethylene Glycol and the knee-buckled crawler Thimerosal, which sounds like one of his Godflesh tracks in the process of terrifying itself to death.s

Ligovskoi - Mana Ep And Remixes (2x12")

1x white + 1x black vinyl !
Ligovksoi's new EP with remixes by Peder Mannerfelt, Abdulla Rashim, Polar Inertia and HBT. The duo Ligovskoi, between Bruxelles and Paris, has come up with five new pieces, bringing their craft to a whole new level. Their condensed and moving soundscapes are now heightened by narrative compositions and constructions. (Cross and Lethe for instance, will drag you down several routes...) Their hybrid sound-design and detuned, infra-thin arpeggios now also integrate free improvisations and breathtaking, melodramatic moments. (take a shot at Aures for example) Enjoy

Route 8 back to his techno project Q3A dropping some heavy grooving tracks! A year after his last release on Delsin, the talented Hungarian producer is back with four more cuts of techno and electro excellence, club tracks that ooze atmosphere and intriguing details. The Nameless Place kicks off with a tense and tangled techno track that is urgent and slick as is hurries on through damp underground caverns. The Very End of You completely flips the script and is a slow motion bit of dub. With only sparse kick drums, the focus is on the cavernous pads that smear in huge arcs as watery droplets and heavenly chords add to the brain soothing effect. Temple of Retribution is back to techno, this time with loose, jumbled percussion and clipped drums cantering along at high speed. Again it's roomy stuff with no real edge, the Deva Station drops into house mode, wriggling drums and distant vocal cries finished off with some classic Detroit keys. It's a high tech, soulful track that closes out a diverse and devastating EP.

Echospace
07.11.2017

This marks the first vinyl release from Echospace (Detroit) this year, lovingly mastered @ Alchemy Mastering, London. An unreleased classic from the vaults emerges with beautiful reshapes by cv313 (recorded and reshaped from 2007-2016). This is where the sound of cv313 was realized, culled from cassette tapes recorded live (1995-2000) with nothing but analog/digital hardware, no computer in sight (excluding our Commodore 64 midi sequencer, which is still alive and well today). The radius project has been absent since the final release in 2001, the first 12" appearing in 1996 (limited white label run of 100 copies pressed at Acme pressing in Canada) after revisiting these works we realized there was truly some magic here. This project was initially sent to Rod Modell & Mike Schommer shortly after they launched their brilliant deepchord label in 2001. They were incredibly kind in saying it was the best demo they had ever heard and passed it on to Octal records for release, sadly, that didn't materialize and since then these masters have been collecting dust in our cassette rack for nearly 20 years now. We've spent months doing our best to restore the old tapes from our Tascam 688, an 8 track cassette recorder purchased and abused since 1992 and to our ears still sounds quite impressive even by modern standards. (that is of course, if you can get past the tape hiss) We've had nearly every component replaced and re-calibrated to bring this obsolete machine back to life, it's been a truly nostalgic experience re-visiting these masters.

We truly hope you enjoy reliving these magical times of music, very inspired by all that was happening in those years, there was just something in the air, an undeniable energy, long may it live on...

07.11.2017

Scenario founder Sebo K drops his debut LP - a seven track mini-album - entitled 'Patience' on Rekids in November.
Reflecting on 15 years as a producer, Sebo K has an admirable discography but recent years have been particularly exciting. The German producer's continual rise includes recent releases on Bass Culture, Robsoul Recordings and Tsuba, whilst his vinyl-only label Scenario has been putting out wax featuring Ian Pooley, DJ Honesty, Jus Ed, Dan Curtin, DJ Deep and Diego Krause. Having cemented a
reputation for consistently quality house music, Sebo K's debut on Rekids exhibits a refreshing sound from the established artist.
Echoing notes and ethereal chords usher in 'Paradigm Change' as breakbeats join a moody bassline for the release's opening cut. Picking up the pace, rattling percussion, ghostly pads and sci-fi inspired synths make up 'Xhale', whilst syncopated drums and eerie atmospherics see Sebo edge more towards electro in 'Transitions'.
Breaks make a welcome return in 'Restless (Darkness Mix)', a suspenseful track complete with ominous synths and elements of rave, contrasting to the otherworldly and futuristic aesthetic of 'Eyes Wide Open'. Amongst the seven tracks are two instrumental numbers called 'Messier 78' and 'Atlantis', which feature twinkling melodies and serene strings to add a cinematic touch to the overall package.

11.05.2017

(limited to 300 copies) This 5-tracker across two slabs of vinyl is Deetron's round-up take on house music as it stands today, from the hands and ears of a well-medalled and highly fielded DJ.

Swiss purveyor, Sam Geiser aka Deetron, delivers his first double pack EP on his label Character: DoubleSix Takes Vol.1. The 5-tracker across two slabs of vinyl is the producers round-up take on house music as it stands today, from the hands and ears of a well-medalled and highly fielded DJ.

Having carved a long-standing reputation in both the techno and house worlds, Deetron exposes another slice of his soul here. Utilising soul, funk and hip-hop production techniques, the tracks are built on sampled material, much in the vein of his earlier and heavily charted tracks Orange, Sing and Silence. Derived from recordings and other noises, voices and sound sources, the samples are then craftily manipulated, processed and layered to piece different parts - bass, percussion and so on into one original sonic universe.

The opener, I Got To Have You features a loopy vocal sample that builds towards a delicious moment of disco in the breakdown -a throwback for the dancefloor - but not too long - what a tease! Take Me Higher takes things up a notch, contrasting a clean bass signal with a distorted lead while an infectious female vocal lifts up the curve. Wrapping up the first package is The Grand Cruiser: its sluggy almost sleazy, low-end and sideways groove over a steady beat makes it an off-kilter and memorable character indeed.

Supper in Casa Blanca immediately paints an exotic scene with shakers and a tinkling can dancing to a chance encounter with expressive synth work and a beating heart. Signing the EP off is Blues, a hyper-smooth, jazzy galaxy ride filled with vintage suave - Dont let nobody take the blues away!

The Mekanism - Breath Remixes

Following on from the widely acclaimed album from The Mekanism, Seth Troxler's Play It Say It label commissions a series of essential remixes from Chris Carrier & Dan Ghenacia, Ryan Crosson and dOP.
Parisian DJ & producer Damien Roussel AKA The Mekanism has been building a serious following over the last few years, with a string of compelling releases on the likes of Kerri Chandler's Madhouse, London imprint Needwant and of course Play It Say It. His 8 track LP 'Breath', released in March of this year, garnered international support from everyone from Mixmag to DJ, Tsugi to Faze, plus extensive radio props from BBC Radio 1 and 6Music. Now the package gets brought to life once again with a set of standout remixes.
First out of the blocks are Frenchmen and enduring house legends Chris Carrier and Dan Ghenacia. They flip 'Journey' into a rubbery and bubbly number where the bassline and synths tightly weave around one another and work you into a lather. Soulful pads, filtered vox and slick electronic stylings make this one a warm and trippy cut for the late night hours.
Then comes Detroit talent, Visionquest man and ever-evolving techno mainstay Ryan Crosson. His 'Break' remix of 'Breath' is a high octane throwback with crisp breakbeats, chattering claps and a wobbly electro groove that gets right under your skin. Toms gently patter above, bass runs deep and there is real space and dynamism to the perfectly arranged track.
French funsters and Circus Company associates dOP then get weird with their excellent remix of 'Da Beat.' In their hands it becomes a percussive number with an old school, spaced out feel. Warped synths, metal hits and squiggly lines all hustle and bustle the dance floor into action.
Then Crosson comes again with an 'Ambone' remix of 'Breath'. It's an atmospheric and escapist ambient version with skeletal percussion but no kicks. Muted, distant acid, rising pads and snatched vocal cries fill it with tension and make it a perfect tool to drop into any set to add suspense and drama. This is a top team of remixers who all come correct and add great new perspectives to the interesting Mekanism source material.

**Transparent blue wax with fold-over artwork in poly sleeve. Edition of 300, includes instant download of the full album** Beppu (The Boats) ratchets the industrial levels on the second part of an album trilogy that started with 'Coercion' in 2014. With 'Persuasion' he allows the machines to lead the compositional process, letting himself be taken into the red by unrelenting, Vainio-style noise pulses and four-to-the-floor kicks with rail-gun 16ths side-chained to near-oblivion with a bone-head momentum. Sonically, we can trace the record's roots back thru the narky grooves of Spanish industrialists, Esplendor Geometrico, while the album name and track titles pay tribute to J.A.C. Brown's book on brainwashing, 'Techniques of Persuasion' (1963), with names and notions like 'Institutional Neurosis' or 'Subliminal Perception' firmly backed up by spirit-crushing drums and vicious synthetic atmospheres. It stomps on the fine line between anger and catharsis, freeform atonality and melodic sleight of hand. RIYL Shapednoise, AnD, Throbbing Gristle, Esplendor Geometrico, Pan Sonic.

After releases from the likes of Dakini9, Fox and Franklin Da Costa, it was only natural that Jersey City-based label Green Village would turn to DJ Spider for a new 12 inch. Well, it seems natural to us, in any case. The NYC artist is now a respected member of the Big Apple's contemporary house and techno wave, and it's an absolute must for him to be represented on the city's bubbling scene, especially when he's up for firing off tunes like "Space Jungle" and Satsang", two mean, club-minded house bangers with a prominent lower-end. "Divide & Conquer" turns things darker and more ominous thanks to its icy, minimal approach - a cold blend of stripped-back beats and circling bass tones - while "Urantia Of Nebadon" displaces the traditional house framework in favour of a dark, molecular selection of electronic sounds guided by a simple pattern of 4/4 beats. Classic Spider material...

Lucretio & Francesco Devincenti - Tempesta Di Valvole

There is something brewing in PicNic34's crew, ready to throw out the second single release which boasts an unconventional Vladislav Delay rework. Masterfully done to be print at 45rpm, but it should be played at 33rpm, it is already played and supported by Laurent Garnier, Sunil Sharpe, Tommy Four Seven, Joris Voorn, Andrew Grant and many more artists.

This time is the turn of Lucretio (from The Analogue Cops) and Francesco Devincenti to bring us a wind of change in the current music scene. Their original mix Tempesta di Valvole' is grounded on the same high sound quality which characterized the first release of the label. They fished particular fat sounds from their hardware-boxes of treats, forging a sleek Techno track stuffed with delayed synth originated by a modular machine, the same that Francesco Devincenti loves handle.

The remix is made by one of the key feature of electronic music, Sasu Ripatti, who has worked with a wide range of musicians, ranging from Massive Attack and Craig Armstrong to Ryuichi Sakamoto, Black Dice, Scissor Sisters, Towa Tei and AGF. Vladislav Delay, Luomo, Uusitalo, Conoco or Sistol: each of his pseudonym is synonymous of unexpected fresh rain of rhythm. Revisiting Tempesta di Valvole' he has injected horsepower to the original tune, flowing in a sinuous movement that rattles off that knot between pure experimental and Techno sounds. The crew of PicNic34 adds another highly sought record to their new, but propulsive project.

M Parent - The Practice Of Pseudoscience

RELEASE

'The Practice of Pseudoscience', a three track EP by M Parent, is the second vinyl release from the US based label Chem Club Records. Having been inspired by peripheral thoughts about pseudosciences, this EP is washed in steady emotional build ups using airy reverb, scattering percussion, throbbing stabs and solid kicks. The title track (A1) uses these elements to move towards a piercing synth peak while 'Cycle of Intellect' (A2) spaces out these features as it creeps to a dubby impactful end. The B side 'Temazcal Rites' was directly motivated by a scorching summer day when the intensity of the sun sparked an idea for a sizzling percussive experiment. What we're left with is a funky but emotive soundscape that tops off the EP in a unique fashion.

ARTIST

M Parent, the artist behind Chem Club's second vinyl release entitled 'The Practice of Pseudoscience', is a Brooklyn based animator who uses his background in this story-driven medium to further express himself musically. His storyline approach to producing makes for an attentive listening experience full of arcs and plot twists that still maintains it's focus on the dancefloor. Using hardware exclusively, M Parent's aim is to produce emotive tracks that exist somewhere between a continuously evolving song and a fully functional track. M Parent DJs regularly at Bossa Nova Civic Club in Brooklyn and has a monthly residency at Jupiter Disco called Modal Form with fellow Blankstairs artist, Nathaniel Young.

Patricia - Autotomy

Autotomy is a collaboration between Belgium's Sleeperhold Publications, Brooklyn-based musician Patricia (Max Ravitz) and the Dutch artist Louis Reith. This output is the result of a long process of contemplation, discussion and elimination which gave us a record that encapsulates both Patricia's sense for hardware production and dance floor rawness. Describing this release is not a simple task. So we'll just tell it like it is: it's a record that slows down and, in this process, reveals its mystery. Referencing the title of this release, wunderkind Max Ravitz seems to provide the listener with the possibility of transformation, a way to shed part of your own being. When running though the tracks, one discovers the essentials of Patricia's sound architecture: the presence of lightness, of longing, mixed with the ability to deny it in the next instant. Sonically, there's a careful balance in these productions that belies their fundamental function as body music. It's ambient yet danceable, approachable despite it's often deconstructed layout, and ultimately warm and inviting. The entire record is made using Ravitz collection of hardware, which gives it its uncompromising texture. The presence of kicks, beats and soundscapes does not originate from a clean digital source but from a physical action, an excerpt of movement, a tick of the human hand. It is floating versus rhythmical movement, visceral versus strict. But above all, it is alive. The artwork used for Autotomy's sleeve design and the etching on the B-side was provided by Louis Reith. (All three tracks feature on the record's A-side.) Just as Patricia, Reith tries to resist technology in favour of physical and craft-based media, though the contrast between digital and analog is always present.Dutch artist Louis Reith produces works through a variety of different media, ranging from collages to wood sculptures, to paper objects and ink on paper works, always keeping an interest in simple abstract shapes and their combination. With an interest in materiality Louis resurrects found footage and creates new landscapes of shape and color, celebrating the human hand at work. Deliberate compositions form an illegible visual language where hidden words are portrayed as abstract sculptures.Reith also co-runs Jordskred, an independent publishing company worth checking out.Ravitz certainly is unstoppable and releases in a relentless and uncompromising fashion.Besides many collaborative projects with an array of artists (released under monikers such as Masks, Pulpo, Inhalants, DSR.MR...) he's released music on labels like Opal Tapes, L.I.E.S., Russian Torrent Versions, Ghostly Intl.,... 2017 has been quite a year for him so far. He not only founded his own imprint, Active Cultures, but also released a triple LP. Ghostly Intl. describes the release as a 'kaleidoscopic, a multi-faceted techno trip' and we couldn't agree more.

Prins Thomas, Hieroglyphic Being - D (hieroglyphic Being Remixes)

Following Prins Thomas' lovingly received 4 X LP vinyl ambient record Principe Del Norte released last week, Smalltown Supersound announce the equally sprawling remix package to compliment it, including remixes from seminal ambient legends The Orb and artists featured on his 'Paradise Goulash' mix in 2015; Sun Araw, Young Marco, I:Cube, Ricardo Villalobos and Hieroglyphic Being.

The intertextuality between Paradise Goulash, Principe Del Norte and the remix package is underlined when you think back to the track that opened CD3 of the Paradise Goulash. It was 'The Subbadubba Beat (Stockholmia Glue mix) by Swedish producer Joel Brindefalk recording as Ü, a conversation about whom sparked the idea for Principe. 'I likened Joel's record to The Orb's Peel Sessions record, which then had me and Joakim from Smalltown talking about me doing an ambient record' says Prins.

The Hieroglyphic Being remixes 12' will be the first to be available on March 18th 2016 in the UK and Europe and April 15th 2016 in North America and Japan. Release date for the second double 12' and The Orb and Sun Araw remixes to be confirmed and all remixes will be collected on a double CD and digital release to be released in Summer 2016.

Tom Dazing - Back In The Daze Ep

Tom Dazing has been around for a long time in the belgian scene. Debuting in 2006 on Toys For Boys amidst the then overwhelming Minimal craze, he quickly made a name for himself with a string of releases and his typical DJ sets filled with dark pulsating basslines and deeply cooled basskicks.

Although he kept busy with his label Thrill Recordings and Dj sets all over Belgium, it took Tom a while to reinvent himself and his sound and a few years to build his studio into the analogue wonderworld it has now become. His sound can be best described as raw, droning Techno with constant change and Acid as the leading thread.
We are really happy at Coincidence Records to present you his comeback EP, aptly called Back In The Daze Ep.

Opening track 'Arcane' can only be described as a signature dish of what Tom Dazing 2.0 stands for: vintage 909 bass kicks setting the pace, brutal analogue synths sweeping and growling in a vortex of aggressive sounds and acid bleeps, building to a break that is not a dumb EDM gimmick to please crowds, but leads to a second chapter within the track, more layered on an Acid undertone.

Second track on the A-Side "Terrapin Protocol" is more of a House track gone wild. Oldskool piano melodies lead the ocean of weird, analogue threats beneath and a hint of trance completes the break and finale of the track.

B-Side 'Babylon' is the kind of stripped down acid house tune you'd expect on labels like Clone or Levon Vincent's Novel Sound. But Tom turns it into a spooky Acid burner that will send the more adventurous DJs amongst you into a love affair with this track. Tested on the Belgian dance floors and this tunred out to be a secret weapon indeed.

A 'Catharsis' can only happen in the end when you've gone through all the tests life has thrown you, and so it's positioned at the "end" of this EP. A weird, bit hard to define track that uses an unsettling 3/3 pattern against a 4/4 beat. It twists and grinds and goes to a deep, deep, deep break only to blast away in an icy, dark and gloomy acid pattern where it came from. For the DJ that dares to take some risks with his crowd...

All this will be released on vinyl and as usual, was mastered by Dimitri Andreas

Every Time Ep

exclMOODREC026

12.01.2016

Presenting the latest release on Nicole Moudaber's MOOD Records, exploring the many facets and nooks between techno and house. We introduce young Spaniard Alvaro AM to the spotlight with his ‚Every Time EP', a two tracker laced with clout, energy and spring in plentiful amounts.

‚Every Time' aims it sights on a more house focused sound, skipping, pressurized tics around swinging beats and bass stabs, while wobbling, squelchy bass melts into the tapestry. No glitz, no glamour - just a raw, grooving jack that's tailored perfectly towards the floor.

On the flip, 'Bvck' punches through speakers with a jittery, swinging rhythm, back by finely tuned drum loops as it ducks and dives, lead by triggered melodic synth-stabs, intensifying after every 12 bars as layers of woodblock percussion and twanging guitar strum samples add groove to the tuff, techy banger.

Blackwater Label

LTD 200 copies!
"Devianza" is a new way of conceiving electronic music, a sort of 'sonic socialism' which involves the sharing of music projects developed by Blackwater Label. I Droni A Torvajianica" is a melodic techno track with hints of acid. It was written and designed in a summer day at Torvajanica Seaside between two lovers who shared passion for Drone music. The funny title sounds like the guys were imagine drones in this place and tell each other: 'Ehi look at that drone passing! Cool Ah!'. "La Torre Del Greco" is the continuation of both technical and emotional of the first track. This was written and designed in honor of a destination, a physical place called Torre Del Greco near Naples. But it is also a reminder of something far away in time, nostalgic and old, as well as the piece in its sound expression. Mio Nonno Era Un Cavallo" is the piece that closes the EP in a transversal way. A chasm sound rich and vibrant with a deliberately enclosed in a bubble, feeling appeal to the use of ketamine to which we refer. The pun in fact refers to the use thereof as an anesthetic for horses and more widely used as a drug.

HPLS 002 sees the concept unfold a little bit more by showcasing six of the different collaborations featured on the forthcoming releases. The highlight would be indeed the collaboration with all time favourite ,and Fabric DA , Craig Richards.

The result captured perfectly the mind bending essence that you usually encounter in his early morning or after party sets .Tracks with Volkan Akin , Josh Tweek and Jesse Morrison will fit perfectly in more conventional narratives , when the live saxophone from Yonatan Yudkovitz compliment a more down tempo and experimental exercise.

Square Miso Ep

17 Steps Recordings
16.10.2017

UK House & Techno heavyweights Dusky return to their 17 Steps label with the classic house indebted 'Square Miso', picking up swiftly where this summer's hugely successful 'Cold Heart' EP left off - the lead track an ever present in Gerd Janson's summer DJ sets.Already recognisable to many from Dusky's festival sets as well as Jackmaster's recent Circo Loco terrace recording, 'Square Miso' draws on the swing of classic NYC house with soulful, cut-up vocal samples and tightly programmed beats, whilst paying tribute to the '90s Italian House classics with its distinctive piano melodies - with a dash of Shades Of Rhythm-era UK Rave for good measure. As well as the club-ready original, a beat less piano and strings 'reprise' is also included. A darker, Detroit-nodding club tool, 'LF10' blends heavy-hitting stabs, atmospheric melodic textures and House grooves. An immersive roller, like 'Square Miso' it serves as another example of the duo's ability to blend different influences into unique hybrids.
With 2017 releases from B.K.R & Jamie Jones, Christian Piers, Bwana and Kiwi, Dusky's 17 Steps has become an increasingly prolific outlet of forward thinking House and Techno - with support from Gerd Janson, Midland, Len Faki, Maya Jane Coles, Tiga and George Fitzgerald among others.

Havantepe/ Low Orbit Satellite/ Rv800/ Mick Welch - Aura

A second release for Verdant Recordings and another deftly curated collection of deep vibes for the heads. A thread of deep and dubby acid runs throughout with Havantepe opening and appearing alongside the mysterious RV800 (the two last joined forces on the Subsync EP from Japan's Formula). A bubbling acid track and first vinyl release from Russia's Low Orbit Satellite maybe the pick of the four here Or perhaps the trippy closing work from Mick Welch Sophie O'Leary provides another colour study for the EP's artwork.

19.05.2015

September 2014 saw the release of Wind It Up, Joel Mull's stunning debut release with MOOD and one of the labels strongest and most popular releases to date. Fresh from working on new music with Sasha, the Stockholm native returns to Nicole Moudaber's ever growing imprint to fly solo once again on his Buzzers EP.

The titanic trio are lead by Buzzers. The rise and fall of the metallic droplets oil this mighty techno machine as the march of its kick drum rolls like the constant throb of a diesel engine. Dark and deadly.

Erector Pili sees Joel delivering a relentless tribal pattern wrapped in dreamy atmospheric and moving waves of synth. Final cut Pulhapanzak seems to combine elements of both the previous tracks. The ferocity of the lead track and the sweeping, ghostly atmosphere of the second, to create an excellent finale.

We get raw, we do the dumbest shit, you ever saw. Ear worms for days. Gorgeous chaos every minute. Plunging toward disaster with each and every passing second. Thus sayeth.... Scott Franka & Kaap - Poise

After releasing their first two releases on one disc, the third release on Amsterdam imprint Working Titles is a release on its own. Label founders Scott Franka & Kaap are behind the label's third release that features two epic tracks from the Dutch pair and again finds them exploring new and exciting techno territory with their lively machine jams.

First track 'Poise I' is a deep and dubbed out techno track with deft synths slowly shapeshifting and bringing sombreness to the quickened groove. It's late night music to zone you out with sparse but rich detailing to keep your mind occupied and it gets ever-busier over the course of thirteen enthralling minutes. Then 'Poise II' is a 16 minute masterpiece that is watery and dubby. It has undulating synth currents and increasingly textured snares. Building to a peak then pulling back, with occasional freaky vocal sounds and sci-fi motifs, it is a truly cinematic piece that closes out an ambitious EP.

The Hacker - Le Théâtre Des Opérations

We are honored to announce the latest album from Michel Amato aka The Hacker, 'Le Théâtre des Opérations'. Michel began making music in 1989 a the age of 17 in Grenoble, France. He grew up listening to New Wave bands like Duran Duran, The Cure and Depeche Mode as well as the darkerside of electro Kraftwerk, Cabaret Voltaire and D.A.F. In 1990s he released a series of 12' singles and an album of cold, calculating and relentless techno. In 1997 he teamed up with Caroline Herve aka Miss Kittin and to release landmark singles and albums that effortlessly channeled the carefree spirit of 80s electro pop (of which we released an EP of lost demos back in 2015). Michel's new live project sees the enigmatic artist go back to his roots, performing a 100% analogue set directly inspired by his first true loves of New Wave and dark, powerful techno.

'Le Théâtre des Opérations' features 8 new tracks spread evenly across 2x12's cut at 45rpm for maximum sound quality and DJ utility. The title comes from a metaphysical journal by French-born Canadian science fiction writer Maurice G Dantec. Passionate about avant-garde techno, The Hacker has taken his influences and crafted a potent homage to the power of the synthesizer. Songs veer from gritty, raw EBM to dark, subterranean electro, effortlessly channeling the strains of the Michel's musical DNA: Front 242, Jeff Mills, Dopplereffekt, Drexciya. The only vocal track features an appearance by longtime friend and collaborator Miss Kittin, named Time X' after the French science fiction television series Temps X. All songs have been mastered and lacquer cut by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. Cover artwork features a collage by London-based artist Anthony Gerace, and each copy includes a postcard featuring a photo of a young Michel from 1989.
