Myles Serg. is a DJ, musician and recording artist who has released on a vast swathe of labels that as well as Metamorphic, also includes FEROX, Caduceus, Knotweed, Ilian Tape, Sweatshop, Night Drive Music, Thema, Pushmaster Disc and his own imprints (MS), RE(FORM), Space, (MS), and Dosed Recordings. He describes himself as a reclusive perfectionist', whose haunting production sound reflects influences from early Detroit and Chicago electronic music. But Myles has a style of his own that blurs the lines between techno and house. With his first introduction to techno back in the late 80's he has continued to nurture his love for electronic music by DJing and producing, while more recently he also teamed up with long time friend and mentor Donnell Knox (D-Knox from Sonic Mind) to create Såure Music Distribution.

Returning to his classic style of rugged, explosive techno, Kompakt luminary and co-founder REINHARD VOIGT certainly isn't one to mince beats - his latest 12" outing REISEN & SPEISEN presents a sure-footed duo of intense, minimalist bangers whose lean and efficient structure is finely tuned for maximum impact. The title track drops a simple-yet-mindmelting synth horn into a seething primeval soup of stoic bass and stomping drums - a dead-aim floor projectile packing a worrying amount of punch. Flipside surprise WÜHLER showcases a rare electro exploit by an artist mostly known for unerring techno, indulging in a gnarly new wave bassline being boiled and some expertly placed synth splashes - a refreshing deviation that nevertheless keeps the elbowing momentum of Voigt's sweat-soaked live sets.

Originally recorded by Marc Moulin, Vincent Kenis and Marc Hollander in 1977 Brussels. Leapfrogging over style and genre boundaries, the LP shuffles between improvised jazz, minimalism, imaginary ethnic music, classical and even proto-techno ('Saure Gurke' foreshadows characteristic Detroit techno riffs by a good ten years).
It became a cult album in its own right and a few decades later Parisian dj / producer Krikor spontaneously decided to rework two tracks for his dj-sets. ensemble brings his remixes with the kind permission of Crammed, Marc Hollander / Aksak Maboul and Krikor.

The style can be defined as techno of an esoteric nature with elements from 90's warehouse material mixed with VHS horror movie aesthetics. Moans, groans, whips and desire can be felt throughout the record with a lustful theme running throughout. Violet Poison's trademark post-punk aesthetic and industrialism are in fine form for 007 with shades of rhythmic noise, experimental dark ambient and power electronics...

Hier entfacht die Bass Drone des Originals gepaart mit den unwiderstehbar dringlichen Sounds eines modularen Synths eine gewaltige Gravitationsmacht. Livity Sound founder Kowton jacks the rapid fire drums and disquieting samples of Cowboy Rhythmbox's 'Fantasma', turning in a sub-heavy club roller that applies his peerless rave sensibility to the original's ghost train atmosphere. A burbling slice of Bristol meets Blackpool Pier, only on Phantasy white label, limited to 200 press. Don't hang around.

Delsin are proud to present, Sides of Space, a collection of classic, lost and forgotten tracks from atmospheric techno producer D5. The 12 track, triple vinyl affair will land in November in both regular and limited edition forms. D5 has released a number of fine EPs on Delsin that date back to the turn of the millennium, as well as a fine full length in 2002 entitled 'Alien Artform'. The tracks on this new compilation have been chosen from old CDRs by label boss Marsel and truly reflect the artist formerly known as Dimensions 5's fine tradition of relaxing chilled out, Detroit influenced techno. His most classic track, 'Floatation Tank' (which was a standout from the 2005 Panet Delsin compilation) as well as all cuts from the sought after Neutrino EP, are included here, and still sound as good now as they ever did. In all there are seven previously released tracks as well as five brand new, never before heard cuts, and they all make for absorbing listening both in the club, on headphones or from the sofa.

One side on the vinyl is taken by Feyser, the young Ukrainian artists, who released already hundreds of tracks on many different labels. Here he convinces with "Protection" and "Fobius" two atmospheric techno tunes, right perfect for the summer time.
The other side is headlined by Italian buddy Roger Dee, whose track 'Marisa In The House' follows up the spheric surface, but underlays a heavy basskick. '8th Floor' though is more loopy and driven.

Additionally in digital shops and here for free, the first Roger Dee track is remixed by south german producer Smilla, who is up to release his album on Harthouse and interprets it here in the sort of more organic.

Ben Cohen's 'Voyage to Rahoz' is dappled with esoteric references invoking the hazy contours of the ever mystical inner zones. It delves gracefully into these realms with the opener 'Momentum', which gives way to the mind-expanding workout that is 'Acid Dreams', a proper luscious piece. On the B-side, 'Play with Humanity' is built around elastic percussive elements and an enigmatic looped-voice. The final cut is an adroit, if not buoyant, rework by the Moscow's top producer Anton Zap.

Releasing techno records by producers who don't always make techno is always appealing to us, especially when they are of the calibre of Edinburgh's C Mantle (Chris Mantle). With previous releases on Acre Recordings, Digital Distortions and Spacebar Sentiments that have included various strains of hardcore, electro and dark mutant bass, C Mantle unsurprisingly employs an assorted pick of sounds and techniques over his version of 'straight-up' club techno on 'Kindly Ones'. Featuring the vocals of Anastasia Petrova, which Chris has mangled and looped up to fit around a fierce trio of originals ('Kindly Ones 1', 'Kindly Ones 2' and the more stripped-back 'Kindly Ones 3'), the ep is topped off by a hefty, cowbell-driven remix by our old pal Barry Leach. Early support from Blawan, Truss, Randomer, AnD...

Lanthan Audio is back after their debut EP that featured Edit-Select now with their sophomore release from Deepbass, Scottish DJ, producer and label owner of Informa Records.

For this EP Deepbass delivers one original cut, 'Alto' which has been remixed by Aegis, Reggy van Oers and Ness. Uniform to the Deepbass style, 'Alto' is an ethereal atmospheric track with a punchy, rolling bass, which takes you on a voyage through the cosmos. Aegis, on the other hand, takes the tracks potent bassline and adds the aura of breakbeat to the elegant atmospheres.

On the flip side RVO adds a hypnotic energy to the track as the elements continue to build to the crowning point letting you down nice and smooth. For the final take Ness adds his own style as the punchy bass lingers he is still able to keep the mood serene and delicate. All in all a captivating way for each artist to express their own style on one EP.

The remains of the Horsemans severed head are no where to be found so he has returned to Sleepy Hollow for vengeance.

Shapeshifting French producer Lee Van Dowski drops his first album in 10 years with 'Cerca Trova', a career triumph work spanning ambient techno, breaks and beyond.

The LP's title, translates to 'Search / Find' and like the name, sees the Geneva-based artist digging deep into his musical repertoire. The 14-track work harks back to his diverse musical roots, when an initial passion for techno soon led the artist into more experimental territory with the likes of Autechre, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Richard Devine and Otto Van Schirac, fuelling his musical obsession.

The artist - a father of two twin boys - says he wanted to leave something for his sons to remember him by. Likewise, since his last artist album 'As Told On The Eve Of...' with Quenum released on Soma in 2006, he wanted to surprise people, while challenging himself to create a narrative beyond the dancefloor. And anyone who has paid even cursory notice of his productions over the years will notice the expansive palette of sounds the Frenchman has explored through the work, which although diverse, flows smoothly from one multilayered moment to the next.

From the glitchy stylings of opening track 'Creating Me', to the ''I.L.A.N.E.N.O', a dreamy ambient collaboration with old friend Caroline Hervé (aka Miss Kittin), that was created after they spent a weekend in the mountains with Lee's kids, the producer sets about building a creative and cohesive trip across 70 minutes.

There's '1+1', a grand, orchestral breakbeat-driven cut awash with strings and vocal harmonies and the evocative 'Repli Tactique', an intoxicating wall of sound, driven by rich Flamenco-style guitar licks, before Lee shifts the momentum up a gear for the stunning electro breaks of 'The One'. The grininducing 'Dans Tes Yeux' is five minutes of pure, driving breakbeat euphoria, before the tempo is taken into gritty acid techno territory with 'Toran'. To close, he then brings us down again with the beautiful title track, followed by the
delicate piano-laden concluder 'Sinon Toi'.

An artist reborn since joining Anja Schneider's Mobilee Records in 2013, the album follows on from Lee's outstanding past 12 months that saw him drop releases on Cocoon, Bedrock, Suara, Rebellion (sub-label of Crosstown Rebels), This and That and of course Mobilee, home to '050504', one of the year's biggest techno tracks.

It's been an unusual while since the elusive unit had a new record out, but after an extensive row of live shows and remixes, Skudge surface once again with a double tracker containing some of their deepest joints yet.

With Irie finally available on wax after the Nonplus 5th year celebration, the band plays with contrast, crafting a warm and yet sinister mental floor killer, while Faux ventures into more abstract melodies with one of their hardest drive ever!

VENT is happy to deliver yet another take on stripped back essential techno. Stephanie Sykes has had the opportunity to entertain many dancefloors since her last ep on VENT, and we are astonished with her artistic progression. The sonic imagery is smoky and bass heavy, perfect for those heady dancefloor experiences. And as if the package isn't perfect already, Cassegrain delivers an absolute killer remix with raw, truly minimalistic techno.

The Teste train marches on with these excellent versions of their classic track "The Wipe". This time it's Claudio PRC and Edit Select (with two versions here) giving a fresh take on Techno heritage.

Once again Toubi McWeird releases his powerful techno on 9Volt-Musik. Inspired by the transformers movie the
tracks are peppered with future sounds reminding on spaceships and video games. Supplemented by an amazing
remix by Alec Troniq.

Munich's Zenker Brothers arrive on Index Marcel Fengler for the first time with Pollioni, a four-track EP that captures the unique style that has brought the duo acclaim over a string of releases for Tresor and their own Ilian Tape label since they combined their considerable production talents as a dual force in dextrous, charismatic techno.
Each of Pollioni's tracks eschew the standard four-four in favour of insistent beat patterns that service a maelstrom of rave era-indebted synths and tumescent basslines, working themselves into grooves with their own personality and once again showing the Zenker ability to forge techno that rises above the standard DJ tool style into something more characterful and lasting.'Night Hustler' opens the A-side with a swinging, low-end-heavy groove that opens up for a sinister melody in the its second half. It's followed by 'Bias', which builds rolling tribalistic drums around a slowly rising degraded synth line. B1 'Karma Lounge' mines similar territory in the duo's collaboration with Ilian Tape colleague Philipp Von Bergmann, before 'Neunkeu' closes the EP by establishing its place in the continuum with its hardcore stabs and a sci-fi acid backbone.

No one knows acid quite like Jori Hulkkonen, as his EPs on Turbo and tracks with Jesper Dahlback as Kebacid will prove. The Finnish super-producer has released more records than we can count and is also one of electronic music's most interesting live performers, most recently as Tiga's right-hand on his long-awaited and acclaimed debut live tour, but most relevantly as conductor of the Acid Symphony Orchestra which happened to include JuhalJohnny as one of the black-tie wearing 303-knob twiddler. After relocating from Finland to LA, Juha teamed up with lyrical miracle JessicalJessika to become ACID BITCHEZ and here we are...

Jori did a killer remix which Tiga has been hammering in his DJ sets, as well as on his Paranoid-London centric mix for RA. Rounding out the package are mixes from Glasgow's General Ludd, hot off releases on Mister Saturday Night and Ten Thousand Yen, old-school NY legend Joeski, and recent Turbo discovery Zia.

FBK aka Kevin Kennedy is a hardworking man, be it battling computers and machines when producing music or when going out there and getting job done. In either case, one things is certain - theres no messin' around. He's also one half of 'The Fallen' a duo performing live, showcasing their love for banging darker industrial/wave inspired techno. His pal James Johnson aka Plural, artist with release on legendary Metroplex label last year, provided great remix on this latest EP by Kevin under his FBK moniker for Barba Records. A Series Of Shocks" is the second solo album from accomplished Berlin based producer Tobias Freund.

Continuing his exploration into "non-standard" electronic music, and expanding on the rich sound palette charted in his first LP, "Leaning Over Backwards" (2011, Ostgut Ton), this new chapter presents 10 versatile tracks taking us ever further into the purist, evolving sonic world of Tobias. A warm wash of synthetics begins it all with opener "Entire", a lush synthesiser sequence with additional contributions from NSI.'s Max Loderbauer, the track casually flaunts the sheer depth of sound and sense of space awaiting the listener. Varied, playfully contrasting moods then follow, with great finesse and an ever-present attention to detail. Freund's live shows, where the use of either the Roland TR-808 or TR-909 has become an integral part, have clearly played a role in the development of the Tobias. sound manifesto, and a large proportion of "A Series Of Shocks" has the 4/4 structure at its "Heartbeat" - indeed track two takes this as its namesake, in a submerged and tense exercise. Exceptions to that steady throb are also a joy to be found, with the frenetic techno syncopations of "Testcard" offering an early moment of broken-beat hypnosis, and later excursions into breaks like the euphoric "Cursor Item Only" or the brash dub of "If" prove there are indeed complex systems at work. Reaching for more energetic zones, fans of classic Tobias. jams like "Street Knowledge" or "Dial" will be pleased to find several well-honed and on-target club tracks, like the textural "Instant", "He Said", or the more meditative, but no less visceral "Ya Po". Snaking, arpeggiated synth patterns are Freund's go-to tool to build paranoid, yet at once funky and complex moments of mystery. Repeat listening will reward the listener by unearthing even more subtleties beneath these undulating elements. For an album produced largely with machines, the end result is in fact anything but rigid; a multitude of dynamics breathe life into every track. Synth elements swim in tension, build and recede with grace, and intertwine themselves into oblivion. Warm, natural drums state their presence, but do not overpower, letting the sum of the parts create the power, rather than merely the kick alone. The resonant sting of "The Scheme of Things", matched with its smooth undertones illustrates this perfectly.

With clarity of sound and a conscious mind to allow each element its place, Tobias. has found a maturity and a true art in controlling the lively dance of the constituent parts. A master at the mix-down, everything gels; nothing is left in-concluded. This sense of togetherness continues until the very final bars of "Fast Null" leaving us in a suspended moment of wonder, and appreciation.

What becomes apparent is that this album carries not only sixty-one and a half minutes of inventive contemporary electronic music, but also decades of experience, knowledge and passion for an artform that can only grow through the work of activists such as Tobias Freund.

The eight single release on Marco Shuttle's Eerie's delivers Michal Wolski's ''Unthinkable Otherwiseness'' EP which contains three deep, abstract, misterious compositions where Wolski is seeking for the balance between subtle and more raw energy. Each track is a meditative, drone-like trip into an area where there are more questions than answers. Classic 808 drum set meets futuristic hazy drones, pads and deep bass lines. Dance or/and contemplate!

Following in the footsteps of Sawlin and Yan Cook last year, Ann Aimee has readied its next release. This one comes from UK tastemaker and Radio 1 presenter Mosca, and is his first release of the year after previous releases on labels like Martyn's 3024 and Hypercolour.
First up is 'It's Not What It Looks Like' - a hunched over, industrial tinged house groove with rattling percussion and a heavy kick drum. Fully of grainy textures and clanging machines, the whole thing is backlit with serene pads and smeared with deft synth patterns. 'Kneecap' is even more direct, with tiny little off kilter chords bringing a sense of paranoia to the barrelling beats and bristling percussion. It's muscular and heavy yet inviting, whilst final offering 'Press Up' is a beautifully swung bit of deep and atmospheric house - all the edges are nicely frayed and the whole thing is smoothed over with misty textures as the barrelled-up sense of funk grows more and more lively as things progress. It's been a while since we heard from Mosca, but this one sure was worth the wait.
As always with this lovingly crafted label, the EP comes with full cover artwork by Boris Tellegen.

Mexican producer Ricardo Garduno is back on Nachtstrom with this outstanding release. The ep will be coming on limited coloured vinyl with no repress, so get your copy quick as long as the stock lasts!

The melodic, dubbed out techno sounds are in its hayday in Japan, and Hypnotic Room is the embodiment of this trend, bringing you, once again, warm spacious sounds by some of Japan's most talented artists.

A1 track immediately feels like a warm bubble-bath, having all the right ingredients for those dubby moments; warm vibrant chord stabs, inventive pad-work, and spacy effects, making Tominori Hosoya's 'My Funny Daughters' a masterpiece.

This side closes off with Deep Inquisitive's track 'Shiki', and it doesn't get any more 'dub' than this. Close your eyes and you instantly feel like sipping wine in one of Ibiza's beachclubs. Pure quality dub techno !

The joy continues on side B, and Asian Psilocybe Foundation gears it up with 'Light Line', super dreamy, but still keeping the dance-vibe strongly in there.

Wrapping up this 12" is the usual suspect Takashi Watanabe, who's making a name for himself quickly in Japan. Fans won't be disappointed, because 'Club Harie' is truly one of his best works. The use of synth is brilliant, and makes it a very usable track for the clubs.

Having already released records by Monomood and Kryptic Universe, shtum continues its trip through dark and gritty territories with its third record by Yor. And what he delivers is pure Techno-bliss. "Nachtwache" starts things off rather groovy with its Tom-heavy beats and rising synths. Following up, "Ritus" is driven by a hypnotic chord delay and makes an advanced Techno-track you can't resist on the dance floor. On the flipside it gets even more bewitching. "Agony" develops a never ending suction over its 8 minute length. This is music to get lost into. Finally, "Under The Influence" is no less mesmerizing but more playful Techno. It's a track that feels like a storm is coming. Once again, the illustration on the B-side label is by Aram Haydeyan.

ADAPTER MAKES HIS DEBUT ON DESOLAT Naples native Antonio Russo aka Adapter joins the Desolat family with a sublime four track EP entitled 'Gain'. With previous outings on the likes of Get Physical, Octopus or Viva, Adapter already proved to be in a rich vein of form, and here he goes one step further. A-side 'Gain' is a warbling peak time builder. A perfect combination of thudding techno bass, driving drums licks, and intricate and delicate synths. The ethereal breakdown will certainly give that all important dance-floor respite, before proceedings kick back twice as hard. 'Boomshake' is a rasping, percussive, tech-house weapon that is sure to be utilized throughout the coming months. It's long arching build ups give way to highly functional plateaus that will be well received by plarty goers. 'Knockout' is a jacky, staccato, hypnotic track that will allow DJs to take things a little left of center when the time is right.

With the new 'Leo Dance EP' released on our rough'n'raw underground whitelabel sidekick UYX Series an old friend returns - the man his friends and parents know as Farid Boudinar whilst all lovers of quality electronic music between House and Techno are more familiar with his F.E.X. moniker. On the circuit for about 15 years now and backed by numerous releases on labels like Dessous Recordings, Brique Rouge, Systematic and many more our French fellow, who was also responsible for the very first UYX Series release back in 2013, unveils the more technoid side of his work, pleasing punters and DJ's alike with a purist attitude and delightful functionality. Opening with 'Leo Dance' we see hard hitting snare rolls, fast-paced drums and brooding, big room basslines going hand in hand with deep, yet uplifting synth works ready for lift off whilst slo-mo alien noises add a bit of a mystical, haunted athmosphere. Spine tingling peaktime pressure! On the flipside 'Overdeus' provides a more dry and stripped-down feel when minimalistic TechHouse meets a decent, ever busy and evolving main motif that's building up in waves providing constant change and excitement through a beautiful sequential arrangement of climax after climax after climax. Finally 'Puretec' enters darker, sci-fi influenced realms, keeping Techno floors in motion with a stone cold attitude, undulating strings and a perfectly crafted, uberly functional synth sequence that pays homage to the masters of Detroit Techno - a perfect tune for concrete underground basement venues immersed in fog and strobelights.

Forma's combustible mixture of lush synth explorations and frenetic rhythm has captivated the margins of the international synth scene since their acclaimed 2011 debut on John Elliott's Spectrum Spools label.
Following 2012's dark and penetrating OFF/ON, the trio set a direct course toward the shadowy perimeter of the dance floor, with John Also Bennett replacing original member Sophie Lam. FORMA's celebrated live performances -- extended improvisational journeys veering from the ecstatic to the foreboding -- draw techno, noise, and synth disciples into their realm. We first heard Forma at a live show at their headquarters--Bushwick's monumental live-work space and performance venue The Schoolhouse. After one of their shows this winter, members of the group revealed that they had been working on music that didn't really fit into an album format, but would work as a 12' aimed more at dancefloor audiences--and that's what you have here: two epic 15 minute tracks of blissed out kosmische techno.

Having both been on the scene for over twenty years, Mote Evolver's founder Luke Slater and Dutch producer Steve Rachmad are considered veterans of the techno scene - both outlasting the genre's various dips and flourishes in popularity. This considered, Rachmad's debut on Mote Evolver seems all the more highly anticipated. Operating under his Sterac guise, Rachmad's inaugural contribution to the label comes in the form of four hypnotic, rolling drum-machine experiments.

Rachmad's formula across the EP is a spartan, uncluttered one. Even the track titles (Stroke 1 - 4) suggest he has taken some pains not to complicate proceedings unnecessarily, instead letting the music stand for itself. In the wrong hands the use of Roland 808's can feel like a tired cliché when it comes to techno, yet Rachmad's manipulation of the tool is nothing short of masterful. There is a buoyancy to his thudding rhythms, filtered hats shuffling effortlessly above raw 4/4 pulses. This trait is defined right from the offset - 'Stroke 1' marching forward steady and resolute. As with the rest of the release, the track has an abstract quality to it - the elements are processed heavily; filters and stereo-delays a common feature.

Across 'Stroke 2' even the synths used feel hazy and out of focus, jutting forward between Rachmad's stuttered rhythms. This and 'Stroke 3' both have a celestial space-age feel, like a satellite being gracefully travelling across the orbit. The EPs closer on the other hand, 'Stroke 4', is incontestably rooted to the dancefloor. Devoid of melody, the track is a frantic percussive workout, jagged claps and ticks jutting out between Rachmad's booming low-end.

As a whole, the EP maintains a perfect balance between holding a consistent theme, whilst still offering plenty of twists and turns along the trip. It is perhaps little wonder Rachmad's Sterac project has been garnering much acclaim in recent years - this EP in particular revealing a focus and clarity that only comes with years of experience

Their recent release on Twin Turbo got huge support from across the board: Josh Wink, Jackmaster, Jacques Greene, Joakim... and that's just key tastemakers whose name begins with 'J'. What Turbo didn't tell you is that the tracks on this EP had been built from 5 core loops which were part of a much bigger project... yours to discover today.

This package is a hugely powerful weapon for old-school and new-school DJs alike... For the old-school a limited edition 12" with 36 locked grooves per side, for the digitally inclined, there will be all these and more compiled for "on-the-fly" remix heaven. Add a filter and delay and you can even go out and play a TWR72™ live show.

These aren't outtakes either, each groove is good enough in it's own right to be an A-side hit. But things are stripped back to their essentials, leaving you, the DJ / producer, to decide when to turn it up to 11 and layer in something new.

For our 9th release we bring you 4NYON3, a new techno project emerging from the city streets of Madrid. This installment will be released on a 3 track vinyl and a 5 track digital EP. 4NYON3 takes w0rkt34m to darker and rougher territories, but keeps that raw, analog sound we love so much, with a high dosage of funk.

Track 1 and Side A of the vinyl is UTILA, a very energetic techno track. It starts with an asymmetric synth sequence, soon followed by a playful riff and the full beat blast. The sounds are rough and fat and the whole track has a tape like compression that creates a very organic, warm and natural distorssion. The structure is simple and effective; with evolving synths, all the elements in the track play with each other effortlessly.

Track 2, and Side B1 on the vinyl, is MADONNA. Probably the funkiest of the pack, Madonna has a dubby like vibe with a subtle build up of drums & bass. A very playful synth sequence breaks in to lead the track. Menacing pads add tension throughout while the percussive elements come and go in a very elegant way.

Track 3, and Side B2 on the vinyl, is ATOCHA. Just like a train, this track is solid, unstoppable and metallic. It starts with a rough funky beat and a distorted whistle like sound. The slow build breaks with aggressive stabs and some 909 frenetic patterns that remind us of 90's percussive techno, keeping the tension at a very high level.

Coup d'etatAis a collaborative project from Kane Ikin and Harvey Sutherland. Working from their respective fringes of electronic music and produced in moments of respite between extensive touring and recording commitments, the project offers a glimpse into the pair's mutual influences and inspirations; part Maurizio, part Moroder. Kane Ikin, a meticulous producer of abstract forms and polyrhythms, weaves percussive static and drone amongst Sutherland's considered syntheziser work - a leftfield turn from Harvey's brighter moments. Ikin also traverses new rhythmic territory and signals a departure from earlier ambient works. The inaugural release for new imprint CDT, the 12" was mastered by Matt Colton at Alchemy and features full sleeve artwork from Traianos Pakioufakis.

Dreamboat is the collaboration between dream-folk singer / guitarist Ilyas Ahmed and the lunar-inclined analog synthesizer/processed bass clarinet duo Golden Retriever (Matt Carlson / Jonathan Sielaff ). The collaboration between these long time friends began with a shared admiration for each others' work as well as a commonality in approach to making music, which one day begged the question, "What if our individual sound worlds intersected". The result yielded a unifying love of exploded modal song forms, improvisation as composition (and vice versa), and a desire to interact with traditional song form . The record is a result of intense scrutiny to arrangement as well as a commitment to reckless abandon.

The opening track Aftershock introduces the trio's vocabulary with Ahmed's 12 string guitar and soft vocals floating through the billowing clouds of Carlson's synth wash with Sielaff's processed clarinet cutting through the haze like a knife. The next song Face to Face ebbs and flows like the ocean's wash against the shore, each instrument allowing each other plenty of space until the song's chorale-like outro. Side 2 opens with Mirrored Image which straddles the line between abstraction and free-form chaos, the players careful to walk the line between the two. Album closer Your Sunday Best begins as a near-chamber ensemble piece which segues into the record's most overt "pop" gestures and playing out in a wash of modal hypnosis.

Imagine Tim Buckley sitting in on the first Cluster recording session or Neil Young with the Taj Mahal Travelers as Crazy Horse covering Popol Vuh and you are almost there.

It's the fourth release from the Berlin based imprint Wet Cellar, simply titled 'WET 004/V.A.' it's a example of what the label is about, simply producing a Techno sound and frame of mind in regards to underground electronic dance music.

The release brings two artists already known in previous releases Marco Effe and Salvo Castelli for A-side, while the B-side features a new artist, the young talent that is, Mattia Trani label boss of Pushmaster Discs.

The release starts with Marco Effe's 'Phase Meter' is raw minimal Techno, in short relentless and simplistic in stature, full of organic sounds and rhythm where a powerful bass line dominates our own heartbeats.

Next up on the A-side is Salvo Castelli with his 'Border Drone' with a a vigorous kick and keeps curiosity up with whips and organic sounds expertly arranged, as well as filters that open and close, and accentuate this piece's rhythm.

The E.P is sown up on the B-side with 'Black Structure' from Mattia Trani, with it's sound straight and overwhelming, with stunning counterattacks intertwined with a symphony of sounds, vibrations, in which the individual parts fit attracted by the resonance with similar sounds.

After two years of amazing releases, Spark Musik is celebrating it's second anniversary with this very special
release by Frankyeffe - Smell The Countryside.
The Italian born producer had quite a respectable year, with huge releases on labels such as, Adam Beyer's
"Truesoul" and Sasha Carassi's "Phobiq" Imprints.
This time around, Frankyeffe has done it again on Spark, with two original dancefloor friendly tracks that will
fit into any set. In addition to these amazing originals, Justin Berkovi & Roberto Capuano have taken on remix
duties to make this release a complete not to be missed package.

Fresh addition to the growing Unknown Precept family, Bethlehem's Connor Clasen alias IXVLF debuts on the label with 'Language Of' providing the second installment of the year in the UP tape series. Flowing between colorful invocations of primitive house and unsettling minimal exploration, Clasen developed a peculiar approach in his music-making by triggering industrial meditations through his insatiable fascination with electronic experiments and performance; ranging from physical manipulation of machines to capturing the nervous movement of acid, noise and the feeling of metal reverberation. It resulted in this mini-album consisting in six cuts of buzzing kicks and distorted vocals — borrowing as much industrial folklore as well as more traditional electronic body music — showing the ability of the American producer to reinterpret past and current trends in an unusual way; to be followed by a 12-inches vinyl release later this year.

Der HUT proudly presents Maksim Dark & Hernan Bass on his record no. 23. The producer of the dreams comes along with this thriving and dark tune and leaves us with a great, weird atmosphere.

Orson Hentschel is a German composer and producer based in Düsseldorf. Having started to play classical piano at an early age, he now mainly composes electronic, experimental and film music. His debut "Feed The Tape" is strongly influenced by Classical Minimal Music. Especially the compository methods of Steve Reich such as phase variations, looping and imitation enter Hentschel's work. However, these methods serve as characteristic compository elements rather than being in the focus of the pieces. The loop, which often is the starting point of one of Hentschels works, usually plays the role of a constant sound substrate on which harmonic-melodic elements can thrive.

Although Hentschel went through a classical musical education, his compositional techniques are by far not traditional. In fact he does not start with a musical idea, but with searching for suitable sound material. His interest lies in sounds and samples which had been used in a music or film music context before - film audio tracks, soundtracks, music albums, internet, sound libraries etc. He estranges this source material in order to create his own sound - hence the name of his debut album. Hentschel's interest in polyphonic vocal music from the late middle ages - especially ars nova and trecento - stems from his earlier study of musical science in Vienna and Dresden. For this reason two of his pieces (Florence, Slow-Moving) contain music from this epoch in a processed form.

Hentschel does not consider himself as a composer of contemporary music, but as a multimedia artist. He developed his own audiovisual performance, based on the interplay of light, visuals and fog. Moreover he is supported by live drummer Lukas Baumgart and together him and Hentschel create an energy which can be heard as well as felt. His aim is to take the listener on an hour-long journey which brings him to the limits of what he can bear. This is achieved by extended repetitions and long arcs of suspense rather than sheer volume.

VDR009 Punta Christo' marks the debut artist EP of London techno duo Our Mutual Friend. Glenn Middleditch and Mark Leigh are primarily known around London for their monthly Friends of Ours' night in Peckham, which has allowed them to hone their live set alongside guests like Jane Fitz and Juju and Jordash, and their recently launched Mutual Friend Recordings' label which made a splash earlier this year with a strong EP from STL. It was in fact that acclaimed producer who first connected the pair with Voodoo Down when they began looking for other labels to branch out on. The EP consists of three diverse but complementary tracks: the title track being the atmospheric club-ready anchor, Reverse Polarity' a rolling bass-and-tom workout, and Smell of Rain' the psychedelic slow burner. This record caps off a fruitful year for the group (the title Punta Christo' pays homage to the Dimensions Festival venue where they played for the first time over the summer), and hints at great potential and willingness to explore.

Onnset's second release is delivered by UK artist Patrick Bolton. 'Exoteric EP' consists of four diverse techno tracks including a remix of the title track by Sunil Sharpe.

Psychic sisterhood and wistful wanderlust are the twin energies feeding lush ceremonial dream-pop duo Purple Pilgrims. Raised itinerantly in Hong Kong and on New Zealand's South Island by Traveller parents with deep backgrounds in folk music (their great-grandfather was recorded by Alan Lomax), Valentine and Clementine Adams adapted by devising their own telepathic inner worlds. After the Christchurch earthquake of 2011 leveled their home they fled to the North Island, crashing with friends and sleeping in cars, eventually returning to China, where they began performing crouched sets of gauzy, angelic noise. Subsequent tours of Europe and America alongside Yek Koo, Gary War, and Ariel Pink helped hone their sprawling, choral haze into leaner, more mantric forms.

To record Eternal Delight, their first full-length, they sequestered themselves in a family property in Tapu, on the western side of the Coromandel Peninsula of NZ, in a shed surrounded by native palms and birds. The isolation, stars, and river nightswimming evidently soaked into the music - all 10 tracks radiate spectral feeling and wide-eyed sensuality. From the processional-pop ritual of 'Is You Real' to the swooning ghost-choir of 'Into Night (Brush My Hair, While I Cry)', the album elegantly encapsulates Purple Pilgrims singular journey to date, adrift in moonlit guitar, whispered electricity, heavenly voice, and muted percussion. The songs float and flow and billow, echoing the spirit of the title's origin, William Blake's The Marriage of Heaven & Hell: 'Energy is Eternal Delight.'

ROD 2nd EP on CLR features 2 tracks that displays a style and approach he has not done before. HKH touches the more peak time side of things, but by infusing some deep pads it creates a slightly more Detroit edge overall. Usually, I try to build my tracks around as minimum sounds as possible, but in this case all these lead sounds just made sense to me", says ROD. The second track GHT' sees ROD experimenting at a late trippy night and just flowing it out. This might be one of the weirdest tracks I have made so far. It reminds me it's always a good thing to search and experiment when your usual way of doing things doesn't inspire you anymore".

We are excited to finally announce and share 'Presentiment', the second Long Player from The Connection Machine.
This release is particularly special for us as it will be the first time in over 20 years that Jeroen and Natasja have put an album out on vinyl. Despite having a string of aliased releases in the '90s on the mighty U-Trax, a 12" during the early days of Carl Craig's Planet E, a remarkable album 'Painless' on Down Low Music, and most recently a series of in demand E.P.s with Lost Trax on Tabernacle, their output has remained tantalisingly infrequent.
With 12 tracks that capture their unique and awe-inspiring sound, 'Presentiment' opens you up to a world that only The Connection Machine have access to.

Following on from his 2012 Autoreply debut The Model steps up again with a precise, deadly-effective two tracker. As a producer he can never be pigeon-holed serving up his mysterious blends of deep, robotic, space- funk across labels like Traum Schallplatten, Crosstown Rebels and his own Clone-powered Adult Central imprint . "Night Time's The Right Time" finds the Romanian in fine-form laying down punchy drums with pulsating-bass, persistent chords and analog synth-tension. Flip the disc for "Wolf" and you get a darker, dub-driven take over the same infectious, floor-shaking beats. Long tracks, mastered to perfection and playable to the max - check it.

Essentially the project of multi-instrumentalist and producer Demian Castellanos, THE OSCILLATION was formed in London in 2006 with the release of the debut seven-inch and Rough Trade Records 'single of the week'; 'New Way To Feel' on Bee And Smoke records. Drawing inspiration from The Cure, Loop, Can, The Durutti Column, PIL, Spacemen 3, Popol Vuh and Chrome, they've since gone on to release three critically acclaimed studio albums; 'Out Of Phase' (2007),'Veils' (2011) and 'From Tomorrow' (2013). Over the last few years THE OSCILLATION have also appeared on several highly rated compilation albums and provided remixes for the likes of Simian Mobile Disco, Telepathe, Nick Nicely and most recently the Fat White Family.

The new long player Monographic sees the multi-talented Castellanos, who sings, play bass, guitars and synths on the album, joined by Valentina Magaletti on drums in what is without doubt the band's most accomplished and outstanding set of songs to date.

The Sphere is a new mini-series within the Nachtstrom label consisting of seven parts. The series will be produced by Nachtstrom regular Bjoern Torwellen and his partner in crime Cortechs and contains a number of outstanding dark and bass-heavy techno rollers in the best tradition of the infamous German imprint. Part 1 will be coming on grey smokey vinyl!!!

Next up on !Organism is a bravely entitled EP from German producer Chris Colburn complete with remixes from Petter B.

Colburn, who runs his own label Rohmaterial, has been making heavy techno since 2005 on labels like 8 Sided Dice, Decoy Records and Driving Forces and this summer is to head out on tour across Europe. This new EP shows he is an innovative talent with plenty to say for himself.

Up first, 'Neurotic Mother' is a bulky jam with squirreling percussion and plenty of sweeping bits of synth tension. Sensitive melodies take the edge of the hard beats and this one is the sort of bouncer that really brings crowds together.

Petter B or Petter Börgesson is a Gothenburg based DJ and producer who has been active since the mid nineties. A regular on labels like Drumcode his first remix is an even more urgent and up-tempo affair that races along as cantering and elastic synths try to keep up. He also turns in a drumless, seriously dubbed out and lazily shape shifting dub remix which is a masterful bit of remixing if ever there was one.

It's then back to Colburn for 'Kolonie', a thumping techno track marbled with little charges of static and laced with icy hi hat ringlets that never give up. Its heady and intense stuff for darkened warehouses, where final track 'Thirst' is a little more minimal, tripped out and curious thanks to its glassy, water like melodic droplets.

This is crisp, clean and seriously no nonsense techno from Colburn, and is another fine release from !Organism.

Following our Robert Hood / Floorplan coup in April, EPM Music now turns to two other legendary figures of electronic music; Sonic Mind's D-Knox delivers two new tracks while Metamorphic's Dan Curtin is on remix duties.

Donnell Knox (D-Knox) grew up in Kalamazoo (Michigan), a city halfway between Detroit and Chicago, which goes a long way to explain the musical direction he's taken over the past 20+ years. As a musical youth he learned piano and drums before discovering dance music in the early 80s. Spending summer vacations with family in these two cities, he would listen to the Hot Mix radio show while in Chicago and The Wizard (Jeff Mills) on WJLB in Detroit, drawing inspiration and knowledge from two places that have been instrumental in House and Techno's history. When his cousin, Jay Denham returned to Kalamazoo in the early 90's the two began making tracks together and later Denham introduced him to the likes of Derrick May and other early Detroit producers. After releasing tracks for various key labels, like Elypsia, Magic Trax (run by the influential 90's magazine, Magic Feet) & Denham's Black Nation, he started his own Sonic Mind imprint, which continues to this day (the next release is due shortly), establishing a worldwide fan base. Now residing in Warsaw, Poland, the sound of D-Knox continues to develop.

'Out There' with its rotational and stippled groove and 'Speak So They Listen' with its funked-up stomp are a pure electronic delight, bearing all the hallmarks of D-Knox's musical journey and sonic expertise.

Another luminary in his own right is Dan Curtin, who recently announced the relaunch of his celebrated Metamorphic label with 'Space Pressure EP'. He's set for another busy year with releases on labels like Turquoise Blue, Seventh Sign and of course more to come on Metamorphic. A perfect complement to Donnell's original, both musically and since he distributed Sonic Mind's first release back in the day, Curtin's remix of 'Out There' adds a tough drum line and sweeping touches, as his signature style shines through.

Adam has spent nearly a year crafting his latest full length excursion. Aptly entitled 'Irreformable'. His latest endeavor is sculpted in innovative sound design and mixed down in full dynamic range. Spanning a theme of diverse styles from start to finish 'Irreformable' refuses to reform or conform to commercialism. The term 'All killer no filler' applies here.

'Interchanges' opens the album with a crunchy bassline and an array of hi-hats building tension as the track develops. Many of the albums tracks are peppered with short vocal samples and spoken phrases which add to the atmosphere and energy as the album develops. We hear this in third track 'Binary Possession' with its layers of detuned synth noises and whispered Adam X vocals and in 'Sheer Insanity' which is filled with sweeps and noise, combined with an unnerving vocal by the man himself. Title track 'Irreformable' comes full of noises

Alfred Heinrichs proofs once again that his work is thoughtfully chosen and carefully crafted to align
the certain profundity and symbolic that is so characteristic for his work. In his new EP

Very well, but isn't it maybe just our mind that is playing a trick on us. Maybe it's just doubtful
perfectionism that lets our thoughts drift away into the darker sphere and makes us feel insignificant.
Maybe, sometimes we are thinking too much and this flood of thoughts overwhelms us and creates
the so called "braintv".

It is exactly those lines of thought that Alfred Heinrichs is trying to catch within his new sonorous
techno-track called "braintv". Deep bass harmonizes with firm beats which are accompanied by a
memorable melody that makes you wishing to hear more. On top, the EP embraces three more
remixes from Alfred Heinrichs friend and fellow Carlo Ruetz, the newly signed Florian Frings by Minus
and the talented techno tyro Gaga.

More than six years into his career after several EPs and a full album, there isn't much known about Ben Gibson, and he is clearly keeping it that way with intent. Gibson first emerged on Jeff Mills' experimental, influential 6277 sublabel but then again vanished into the ether; he only reappeared three years later on Perc Trax, even more surprisingly with a full-length. Since then, he's gone on to steadily more notice with Perc's imprint, Sect Records, and most recently M_Rec LTD in spite of the continuing lack of information. Exposure isn't the most important thing for us at Chronicle though, and after hearing these five tracks, we saw exactly what it is that drew Mills to him from the beginning. It is a sound that we find a perfect

fit for the techno futurism of our Chronicle series, and here we offer a platform for Gibson's more sci-fi, ethereal sounding material, exclusively on vinyl for the fifth edition of our sublabel.

It commences mysteriously with the big room drones of Almaz, which clearly references the work of the Detroit pioneer who initially brought him to notice. The textures of the keys slowly morph as they're interrupted by garbled static pulses, and the tension builds steadily over the duration as the atmospheres become thicker and stark, minimalist techno drums make their entrance to develop alongside the rest. After the opener takes a quiet bow, Cemlins continues mood he has built in

a static-laden soundscape of gently shifting rhythm and held tones which move steadily upward to a rousing finale. The second side opens more succinctly in techno territory with Vapour, but it again takes a lighter hand with bell-like tones floating over the rest. Here, the feeling remains optimistic rather than ominous, but he quickly shifts back for Miasma, a subtly uneasy techno track full of unbridled intent. Rhythmic static and low-mixed, funky bass move in a deliberate pace with the delicately developed drum programs. Finally, the almost-vocal sound of the haunting lead in Convey brings this mini-album to its quietly emotional conclusion.

While unquestionably subdued compared to the work of many of his contemporaries, Ben Gibson's music accomplishes expressiveness in its delicacy that is rare in modern techno. As such, it stands in the company of few but in perfect counterpoint with the rest, and as an exciting outlier and addition to Chonicle's explorations.

FORMAT Records presents an action-packed EP by rising star Doka, with techno don Tripeo popping in for remix duties.

Following up his diamond release on the lauded Wolfskuil imprint and remix for FORMAT Record's kick-off release, Amsterdam-based Doka returns with three fresh tracks that each spotlight a different facet in basement techno. Up first is 'Xure', an arp-driven slab of mind-tickling electronics that slowly builds its way to a sterling peak-time climax, after which the distorted 'Xero' highlights the dirtier and grittier side of things with a raw LFO-esque synth meandering through a sonic groove. Closing track 'Xite' captures the spiraling vibes of off-beat techno across hypnotic percussion bits and glistening sounds in the background, leaving very little to wish for.
On the remix tip, one of techno's men-of-the-moment Tripeo (aka Darko Esser) delivers a beefy rework of 'Xure'. Tying an arped synth to a potent groove, this little monster will definitely do the business in the clubs...

After 2 blinding releases on LIES and Russian Torrents, the Italian uprising techno producer Domenico Crisci lands on fellow italian Marco Shuttle's label Eerie with some serious, 909 driven, stripped down techno biz'. No matter how pretentious it might sound these are tracks that gravitate quite comfortably in a Mills-esque kind of orbit but they somehow also remind of early Downwards brutal material. Label boss Marco Shuttle features in the EP with a remix of one of the tracks (Lash) bringing the original into a more broken, abstract and dark (of course) territory.

The one and only Eric Sneo graces Phobiq for the first time with this three-track journey into sleek, chrome-plated Techno. The title track has been surgically arranged so that the cavernous percussion and spacious effects can take over the whole track with their immersing strength. The grinding drums in combination with the hypnotic, filtered riff running throughout the track kick things up a notch and ensure maximum overdrive. On "Stanch", snappy drums provide the backdrop for otherworldly hi-hats to pound away while the focus shifts to the immense rhythm section and percussive mayhem. As expected, an apocalyptic breakdown ensues and all hell proceeds to break loose. "Interleaved" picks up from there and seals the EP with classic chords that mutate over time together with more sonic manipulation, which ultimately serves as an exhibition of effortless mastery.

The first of three samplers features Voiski, Acronym and Ben Buitendijk from the ESHU collective. Acronym's track '16 Cygni' is a sci-fi bit of techno that is speedy, slick and intergalactic, whilst Ben Buitendijk offers up some Millsian, streamlined techno urgency with his 'Colourblind' and finally Voiski gets all elastic and industrial tinged with his whip lashing effort. This first sampler explores the sort of classy techno the label has become synonymous with in recent times and does so in plenty of style.

''Circus Tent'' - their favorite scene for years on Audioriver Festival and ''Oak Stage'' - the main stage on Summer Contrast festival. There are also two remixes by the artists from: Krakow (DEAS) and Tbilisi (Boyd Schidt).
