Von Party may not be a familiar name to most, for those who don't know, Thomas 'Von Party' happens to be the brother of 'Tiga' also the long time A&R of 'Turbo Recordings' and co-owner of the label Multi Culti.Thomas has an ear for music and this is evident in his debut for Convex Industries.
Psychotropics is an FM synthesis bell driven monster which churns along with metallic drones over a rigid beat. Alkaloid Scrap Jazz is a journey through percussion with sporadic keys dashed throughout. Broad Spectrum and the Jori Hulkkonen remix are both a blissful listen, travelling through submerged soundscapes and wonky strings reminiscent of Aphex Twins 'Selected Ambient Works' series. The whole EP is a taste of what years of A&Ring a hugely successful label such as Turbo and a fne tuned ear to good music and production can lead you.

Black Asteroid is back on CLR with a challenging four track EP full of top notch, uncompromising Techno. The man who started his career as a sound engineer for Prince at the legendary Paisley Park Studios has once more created a cutting edge, exciting sound full of unrelenting energy and depth. For many years Bryan Black aka Black Asteroid has been touring the world´s most important festivals with his award-winning band MOTOR, sharing stages with bands like Depeche Mode, Daft Punk and Nitzer Ebb. With his solo project Black Asteroid he manifests a modern yet timeless sound, fusing and enhancing the very root element of Techno with some of his pioneering technics and skills. 'Grind", 'Grinder", 'Black Body Radiation' and 'Black Body Radiation' (Dub) are the tracks on this brand-new EP, following up the project´s acclaimed debut 'The Engine EP", which was released on CLR in 2011 and the five track 'Black Acid EP' on Speedy J´s renowned Electric Deluxe imprint in 2012. The release brings together Brendon Moeller of Echologist/Beat Pharmacy, Clay Wilson from SUS and The Bunker NYC, and Certain Creatures, co-producer of Black Rain's recent Dark Pool LP. Expect more BM/CC/CW collaborations to come in both wax and live forms in 2015.

For the fourth installment in Into the Light's journey into Greek electronic music, we find ourselves transferred to Pireus, home place of ambient music composer Dimitris Petsetakis.
With the exception of only one track, 'Endless LP' is a collection of previously unreleased material that has remained in Petsetakis' basement studio for almost 30 years now.

Dimitris Petsetakis was born in Pireus, Greece and has been a member of the 'Society of Greek composers of Electronic music',
founded by Janis Xenakis, since its foundation. He released only one album on Vangelis Katsoulis' Utopia label under the title 'Missing Links' from where the opening track 'Liquid' has been selected. 'Liquid' has been referred to by Petsetakis himself as one of his most representative and fundamental compositions. His music in general consists of elements of minimalism , musique concrete, ethnic forms from all over the world as well as intricate use of quitars, synthesizers and various acoustic instruments.

'Endless LP' seeks to share Petsetakis unique talent with a wider audience and to pay tribute to his unshakeable and continuous devotion as a musician throughout the decades. Included o the 'Endless LP' are ten compositions that range from uncompromising experimentation to ancient Greek musical forms and exotic ambience.

After the success of Dax J's timeless 'La Haine' EP, Weekend Circuit are back with newcomer Hubot with his first 12" for the label.

Following on from his debut EP on Terence Fixmer's Planete Rouge imprint, french born Hubot brings another masterclass in modular techno to further define his sound. The EP starts off as it means to go on, with 4 tracks guiding you through a sound scape of varying moods and hypnotic synthesis, with a driving baseline and dark flurrying percussion accompanying throughout.

Yet another state of intent from Hubot, and a welcome edition to Weekend Circuit to bring in the winter months.

The A side is a broken techno track with filtered drums, laced with an acid hook that will keep people fixed to the dancefloor. B1, a 138BPM straight distorted driver with heavy euphoric strings and harsh syncopated percussion, finally B2 slows things down a little to 122BPM, taking parts of B1 and flipping it on its head with harsh grooving hats and a ripping synth...

This April James Shaw follows last years caustic A Vision of Love project with a debut release as Sigha for Avian, blurring the lines between the dance floor and the ritual chamber.

Over the course of six tracks scuffed rhythm and analogue bleed blend together, combining a techno aesthetic with something more primal. The tracks both lean on club tradition and abandon it, veering away from standard structure in places, in favour of fragmentation and prolonged repetition.

Acronym once again surfaces for five floating techno excursions on Abdulla Rashim's Northern Electronics.

Delsin are proud to present, Sides of Space, a collection of classic, lost and forgotten tracks from atmospheric techno producer D5. The 12 track, triple vinyl affair will land in November in both regular and limited edition forms. D5 has released a number of fine EPs on Delsin that date back to the turn of the millennium, as well as a fine full length in 2002 entitled 'Alien Artform'. The tracks on this new compilation have been chosen from old CDRs by label boss Marsel and truly reflect the artist formerly known as Dimensions 5's fine tradition of relaxing chilled out, Detroit influenced techno. His most classic track, 'Floatation Tank' (which was a standout from the 2005 Panet Delsin compilation) as well as all cuts from the sought after Neutrino EP, are included here, and still sound as good now as they ever did. In all there are seven previously released tracks as well as five brand new, never before heard cuts, and they all make for absorbing listening both in the club, on headphones or from the sofa.

It's safe to say that without Vito & Druzzi, we wouldn't be here today. Indeed, along with the other members of the Rapture (ever heard of them) and James Friedman, they founded Throne of Blood. Our histories go hand in hand. After releasing classic albums on labels like Sub Pop, DFA, Vertigo, and Motown- and spending more than a decade touring the World with LCD Soundystem, Soulwax, The Cure, Interpol, and Franz Ferdinand to name a few- Vito & Druzzi have spent the last few years shifting their focus towards DJing and production, building a studio in Brooklyn and churning out the jams. It's been a labor a love and we're very happy to present you with the first fruits of their collaboration.
'Moon Temple' and 'King of the Jungle' have a classic (but not retro) feel to them: 'Moon Temple' gradually builds towards analog madness, the groove held together by relentless rim shots reminiscent of Plastikman's seminal 'Spastik'. "Mekaniskt Gränsland' is dirty, electronic dance floor music, hardware driven, mostly instrumental, and stripped to the bare bone. The album was made during long, late-night sessions, working with semi-functioning gear from the past (analogue synths and drum machines, cassette decks, old tape delays and spring reverbs) as well as new, small and inexpensive machines. Celldöd's modus operandi is to keep the grit and the rough edges in the production, submitting to the beauty and power of imperfection.

Suction Records is pleased to present the 1st in a series of vinyl reissues by the Canadian EBM band, Digital Poodle, beginning with 'Work Terminal,' an early '90s electronic dance floor anthem. The 12' is also rounded out by an impossibly rare 1991 cassette version, a much more clanging and ominous take than the original. Alongside O/H's sludgy, furious techno version, and Solvent's driving minimal synth reduction, 'Revision! vol.1' offers a diverse set of dance floor killers for the modern industrial-techno scene.

The fourth installment in the Legwork Records saga sees label heads Lance DeSardi & Leopold come together under the artist moniker LEGWORK. For their first outing under the name they start with BUCK SHOT, a techno-soul chugger featuring a remix by the futurist himself, Matrixxman. On the flip, the boys go in for a straight-ahead killer with MEAN 2 ME and a more musical version of the same tune, KEY 2 ME.

dark technoid echoes from the depths of the italian underground

Detroit's Jared Wilson provides the 10th release for Super Rhythm Trax and it lives up to it's title. On "Plate Mining" and "Idea Of A Deep State", Jared goes in deep with lush, strings that sooth you as the 303 works it's magic underneath. while "How Deep" provides a brooding Acid Line and works the percussion. Minimal but deadly. Jared has long been on the SRTX want list after proving himself as a master craftsman with a slew of classy releases on his own 7777 label. Super Rhythm Trax is overjoyed to have him on the roster being one of the most skilled knob twiddlers out there who knows how to work it but also and perhaps more importanty, when to hold back.

Never On A Sunday is one of many names used by Detroit's Burden Brothers otherwise known as Octave One, a project that has been running since the early 90's. Fans of Detroit Techno and House will already be familiar with the brothers output over the last 20+ years and "Day By Day" has long been at the top of the wants list for lovers of the Motor City sound since it's 1992 release on 430 West.

Clocking in at six tracks and straddling a more melancholic, deep House / Garage sound than the Burden's Techno outings "Day By Day" is a complete journey on one EP, a mini epic. From the sax and piano jamming "Jackie's Theme" and the introspective and rolling "Carnal Pleasures" through to the airy, melodic groove of "In The Breeze" featuring frequent collaborator Lisa Newberry's instantly recognizable vocals the whole record sits perfectly as one piece with each track complimenting the other beautifully. A real treat for Detroit lovers or those who have a fond ear for the deeper and more emotive side of electronic music.

The second single release from Thomas Schumachers critically acclaimed album STAND UP is a collaboration featuring none other than the fabulous Chelonis R. Jones.

Chelonis is an electropop musician, painter, poet, singer, songwriter and producer. Born and raised in California and New York, he is currently living in Europe. Thomas and Chelonis first crossed paths when Thomas remixed his song"Black Sabrina" in 2005 and again while they were releasing on Get Physical. Right at the begining of the recordings for STAND UP, Thomas produced a playback specifically with Chelonis in mind, imagining his unmistakable falsetto voice, referencing Curtis Mayfield. Chelonis was immediately on board and very soon after delivered the amazing performace that is, IS YOUR KETTLE ON

The original album version is a sparse piece of Electronica driven by an old school, downtempo 808 beat with an outstanding, emotional vocal performance from Chelonis R. Jones.

With remixes from Kris Menace, Douglas Greed, Kai von Glasow and Thomas Schumacher himself, the fifth release on Electric Ballroom will be out in july 2013

One would never think of mystic rituals when thinking of Basque county. Yet, this might be a premature thought. Naturally, the isle of Haiti or the American deep south come to mind when thinking of these tribal traditions.

Label owner Kastil and his good friend I-Real are also not afraid of these so called spiritual folkways.The major difference being that they use machines to do the job. Voodoo turned out to be a release that indeed hints to far-away cultures and sobby swamps. At least the title track does.

Coming from a similar background of loving music that's heavily based on machines and technology but at the same time captures certain emotions, the two Basques teamed up in Kastil's modular lair that's situated deep in the hills of Vitoria. The outcome is to be experienced. Whilst the before mentioned Voodoo is drenched with perc, Lo Mak and Kao Kamoo are based heavily on an almost anti 4X4 mindstate. Technically advanced beats topped off with otherworldly pads and state of the art sound design.
Chang is a moody bit, buldging with bass and reminiscent of underwater-wildlife.

The talented Spanish DJ pairing of Scan Mode and Alvaro Sanchez, came together at the beginning of the year to launch not only their Raw Rootz alliance but also their own label of the same name. January's 'Beginnin' ep, with its Alex Under and Felipe Venegas remixes, was an instant success, finding wide ranging support and saw Laurent Garnier brandishing the label's logo on his own stage setup.
Raw Rootz create house music influenced by the sounds of the legendary Roland TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines. Whilst the sounds are classic, the vision is modern. Their second release sees the duo deliver a brace of contrasting tracks. First up is 2.1 with its sultry piano, drifting vocal and warm fresh balearic vibes. On the flip 2.2 takes us from the a side sunlight to the darkness of the night. Unrelenting raw and scything beats are matched with creepy sounds and percussion to create a powerful techno shot.
Stepping up to remix 2.1 is prolific Canadian producer Jay Tripwire. Giving it a complete makeover, Jay takes 2.1 from the sunkissed shores to the sweaty floors as he present a deep, trippy and twisted take on the original.

In his new Smell The Flesh guise, the man delivers six cuts of eerie beats, challenging his western esthetics with a nonetheless complex yet primal approach.

Hail Kongo sets the tone with its syncopated haunting beats before Closed Walls creeps you up with dark Jamaican acid.
Then, Unsettled Conflict reminds us of those 80ies horror movies, the most menacing kind, while Blood Relic throws us in the middle of a trance like chase scene!

The record closes off with Struck By Venom's voodoo techno and Cardiac Arrest final morbid message, an all in all unsettling journey that the Skudge crew is happy to take you with.

Part two of the A Made Up Sound 007/008 double drop. Killer pan-around beats and morsecode-like pads build towards sonic mayhem on the A-side, while the B-side sees the highly anticipated Half Hour Jam On a Borrowed Synth finally get its release.

Luigi Tozzi is a young Roman artist just twenty-three years old but with a profound musical knowledge. His productions reflect the distinct musical style coming from the Italian capital, a style purveyed by artists now considered icons within the international techno scene. It's the direct link to this sound that aligns Luigi's music perfectly with the musical realm of Outis Music. The EP's opening and title track 'Calipso' is dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea 'Calypso", elegantly adding subtly trance-like traits to a classic 4/4 beat. Next piece 'Ambrosia' finishes the first side with a deep, sophisticated and refined device dedicated to the Ocean God. Devotion to the return to home is the theme of the following cut 'Nostos", a substantial tool that's hypnotic and encapsulating. On the EP's final piece 'Nostos (Dino Sabatini Version)", label founder Dino Sabatini provides a different point of view on Luigi's original in his own classic and unmistakable style.

The recording is comprised of five songs written and continuously rearranged throughout 2015 through live performance, layering textures, flickering melodies, ambient passages, and driving rhythms, grounded by deep sub-bass. At its heart this is soundsystem music, meant to be immersed in and felt physically.

Release number seventeen for MOOD and a label debut for precocious young Spaniard WADE. Relatively fresh on the scene the young producer has wasted little time in making an impact with releases for the likes of Suara, Inmotion and Moan. With an ever growing list of big name support and strong chart placings, the musical future is blindingly bright for WADE.

That future starts right here with the release of the Check Point EP and a title track that thunders straight out of the blocks with its steamroller kick drum and mighty bass synth. WADE then strips things back, rolling out pulsing bass and percussive vibes on Dark Shadows before dropping more imperious drum work as he closes the EP with Sunday In The Sky.

Ghost Box are very excited to present these two tracks recorded especially for the Other Voices series by Tim Gane's low key, elusive and damned near perfect Berlin based band, Cavern of Anti- Matter.

"Pulsing River Velvet Phase" is a beautifully evolving melodic piece for guitar and synths. Reminiscent of Gane's Stereolab work, it's a five minute epic that blossoms organically as it joyfully shifts mood and time signatures.

On "Phototones" Cavern of Anti-Matter are in more typical motorik territory. A delightfully upbeat head-nodder.

Parisian artist Nautil is a music student specialising in acoustics, signal processing, and informatics. His debut single, Canopée, utilises analog synths, sampling and personal recordings to emphasize the geometrics of nature and music.

On the A-side the lead track, Canopée, is a cavernous, pulsing, low-frequency techno colossus destined to hypnotise dark warehouse spaces. On the reverse Galdae is a propulsive tecnoid tweaker while Mue is designed for head rolling after hours with mesmeric synth drones suspended over a brain melting sub-bass pulse.

Richard Fearless delivers some Transatlantic love with his third Drone instalment, and the fifth release from this growing label. Overview Effect is dubbed out Detroit-esque techno with with an epic two and half minute string workout and a cognitive shift to pure Fearless magic.Metal Dub is stripped-down, metallic, hypnotic techno with haunting pads, and it's been smashing it in the darkest of rooms of late. Shinedoe - Illogical Directions

A day in the life of Shinedoe, expect anything. With dance music currently exploding
into a multi coloured crossbreed it's tempting to take things as far as possible. And
that's exactly what this Amsterdam based DJ does on her long awaited third album.
Illogical Directions is about letting go, about an artist completely liberated in her studio,
making music by the heart and processing all her experiences into one impressive trip.
For sure, the third time's a charm.

Another lesson learned, to pigeonhole Shinedoe is merely impossible after listening to this
record. Unlike ten years ago, when she made her way to DJ stardom with the release of the
omnipresent club hit Dillema, soon followed by debut album Sound Travelling. It made her
one of the faces of the soon wildly popular minimal sound -techno music in a stripped but
extremely funky manner was a specialty reserved for a DJ like Shinedoe.

Stronger than the music itself, she kept reinventing herself. Techno and house music remained
her foundations, from there the Dutch notoriety took her grooves to a completely other level.
In 2010, sophomore album No Boundaries saw Shinedoe venture into more rooted genres like
jazz, funk and dub. Her true identity was emerging, things were getting even more interesting.

Illogical Directions
Now, four years later, precisely in the year Shinedoe will be celebrating the tenth birthday of
her renowned imprint Intacto Records*, she's made a journey further down that path. As if
she's completing a trilogy, the album Shinedoe has shaped is nothing less than the
culmination of everything she stands for. A tour de force of highly organic dance music
bringing together the euphoria of club music with moody, more introvert songs. Illogical
Directions is, simply put, exactly the album you'd want Shinedoe to make.

'When I produce music, it comes from my heart and soul', she explains. 'I don't want to
make rational choices, it's important the music can move in any direction, even if it doesn't
really make sense. It's the only way to completely feel free, to avoid getting trapped in some
sort of format. As a result, these new tracks all have their own feeling and identity, you can't
label them to one particular sound. It definitely was a challenge bringing them all together,
but it works!'

The most extraordinary about this, the typical Shinedoe sound is still intact, even when she
impressively demonstrates all her various sounds within the first couple of tracks. Kicking
things off with the slowed down, dubby track Release Yourself and the mechanical house tune
Essence, there's immediately a certain tension building up. The jazzy deephouse of Alto
Parisio takes things further, followed by the just as incredible Discourse My New Romance, a
dark and twisted dancefloor track featuring The Knife's Karin Dreijer.

From that moment on, anything can happen. Sleek deephouse (Panomanic, Fe-Male, the
beautiful anthem-like Not So Far), cool electro (Pressure Dome) as well as classic house with
a soulful touch (Circle Of Life featuring the infectious vocals of Miss Bunty). It's more
mesmerizing and melodic than ever, even though Shinedoe also enters a darker and more
gritty world with tracks like God's Love and Get Dirty -another uncharted terrain she's
familiarized herself with.
As said, Shinedoe has surpassed expectations. Illogical Directions takes you to loads of
unexpected sensations with a collection of music you rarely hear put together. But she's done
it, delivering an album that pulls you up and brings you back down again. So, whatever you
have in mind, get ready for one of 2014's most ingeniously crafted dance albums, presenting a
variety of emotions unusual in this particular genre. Some illogical directions indeed, but we
love it.

SQL has been touring the globe and releasing steadily for a few years now. After a lot of great releases and remixes, some of which topped the charts, we believe that this is his best EP so far! If you like warm techno and tech house that combines melody with powerful grooves, this one is for you.

The track titles on Kamikaze Space Programme's latest offering for Mote-Evolver are taken from the chilling techno-criticism and dystopian visions of the late J.G. Ballard's fiction, a thinker whose work has always lent itself well to music on the razor's edge of modernity. Keep in mind, though, that this is no simple tribute to that mastermind of speculative fiction, but a translation of his highwire suspense and hyper-modern aesthetics into rhythmic and incisive electronic music.
The leadoff track "High Rise" is an adrenalized and twitchy creation built around a shuddering bass riff and a cleverly corroded set of intense percussive hits, aided by elevator shaft ambience and what seem like eerily obscured vocal samples. In short, it's the perfect backing music for a very cautious trudge through a tower block presided over by unnamed and ominous forces. The follow-up "Low Flying Aircraft" is another strong take on this affective mix of anxiety and release; its motif of tactile 'slamming door' percussion and metallic accents making listeners envision a labyrinthine complex full of rigidly enforced secrets and classified information.
"Concrete Island" maintains the intensity level and dense urban atmosphere of the A-side, pooling together numerous snatches of white noise, audio grit and alarm buzzes to form a demanding sound environment in which some distant ethereal touches are the only respite from the well-organized attack. The closing "Day of Creation" dials down the tempo, but certainly not the creativity and the drama, as deceptively delicate bell tones and tranquil synth pads compete with a uniquely springy industrial rhythm and floor-shaking low-end frequencies.
For those who are curious to hear the sounds of urban overload and dark dreams compressed into one coherent and captivating release, Kamikaze Space Programme has delivered in a big way with this EP. Fueled by the sensibility that the here-and-now is as strange and unpredictable as any science fiction, this music won't disappoint anyone who still looks to techno as the music of new ideas.

Young Italian producer Leonardo Martelli has been working on tracks since 2008. Machine Soul is a documentary film about Finnish electronic musicians. It is a glance at the methods, rituals and philosophy behind the music, but most of all at the burning passion that drives the artists forward year after year. Machine Soul tells the story of Finnish electronic music scene from the artists's point of view.
Many of the artists are virtually unknown in their home country, but have a significant fan base outside Finland. Machine Soul is a tribute to the pioneers and newcomers of Finnish electronic music. Director Tero Vuorinen got the idea for the film during his film school days over ten years ago. The dream came to fruitition when production finally started in 2014.
The first screening of Machine Soul documentary took place at the Turku Modern Festival in July 2015. Machine Soul will also be shown at music and film festivals in Finland and around the world in association with Music Finland and Genelec. Music Finland is a statefunded organization in charge of exporting and promotiong Finnish music. Genelec is a award-winning Finnish manufacturer of professional active loudspeakers for audio and movie production.

Matt Edwards (Radio Slave) returns to his Rekids label under the guise of B.A.D.S (Berlin Amateur Dramatics Society) - a new project cooked up with Spencer Parker and Francesco de Nittis aka Mr Ties, in order to release this track he made especially for an appearance at de Nittis' Homopatik party at Berlin's About Blank last year.

Since debuting the track it has gone on to become not only an anthem for the part itself (the a capella has become a regular a favourite Mr Ties opener for Homopatik sets), but a goto crowdpleaser for the handful DJs such as Nina Kraviz who have drawn for its infections energy over the past year.

Imbued with the with all the infamous mischief of Homopatik and the historical clubbing lineage the party is rooted within within, Hous-O-Matik Hom-O-Patik does everything you would expect it to: it gets the party started. B.A.D.S will return later in the year with Spencer Parker and Mr Ties' own versions of the track.

The true master of dark Techno, Kai Randy Michel, returns for a third EP on Darknet with this tough techno 3-tracker "Fractal Reality", including a pounding remix by the label boss DJ Hi-Shock from Sydney.

Möd3rn is a global project from 3 wellknown artists who wanted to give a side project from their own solo career. It's a band, producing, playing live but it's also a label created only for the trio productions. Each releases will propose 3 tracks from the 3 artists. Masters of weirded out rave and brvtalist experimentalism drop 4 untitled, extreme pieces of music on NYH. The Spanish/British duo Roc Jiménez de Cisneros and Stephen Sharp, aka EVOL, are taking rave to the next, abstract, level.

* Ipman's debut release for Tectonic steps in hard with two excellent cuts for the dancefloor, "Regicide" hitting in at 140bpm, while "Ghostrunner" takes it's pace at 128bpm. Following on from releases on imprints including Osiris and Tectonic's sister label Cold Recordings, Ipman demonstrates his ability to seamlessly fuse sounds, textures and moods - from jungle to techno and everything in between. The results are clear - high impact dancefloor energy delivered in a well-measured fashion: intricate rhythms and textures dance around thunderous subs and powerful sonic rushes.

* 'Regicide' repackages the mid-1990s jungle experience into 140bpm breakbeat science for 2015. Atmospherics and pads build in tension throughout the intro, a distorted reese bass being summoned from the depths emerges over crashing breaks, chopped and rearranged, effected and dynamic. An irresistible energy is delivered on the drop that will get any raver on their feet - and moving hard! "That's why we killed the king". Wheel and come again - long live the king!

* 'Ghostrunner' originally featured, in an earlier incarnation, on the Pinch B2B Mumdance mix of last Summer and now appears here in full, refined glory! Building from a murky swamp of moodiness, hissing fx and buzzing anxiety - an intoxicating swirl of arpeggios drift into consciousness, leading up to the drop. Rolling snares prime you for a sonic pounding, delivered with a rasping bass throb - technoid in its form, organic in its movement. Dubby, techno-y, broken beats swirl around your head - soothing and dementing in balanced measure.

Etra' is the second LP from Portugese Manuel Carvalho, and can be seen as an extension of the ideas and themes explored on his debut 12' 'Citadel' for Paralaxe Editions. Here across 9 tracks Manta breathes life and light into the potentially heavy exploration of the manifestation of the human ego in architecture, and our perceptions of inner/outer space. The weight of such ideas manifests itself in an sound realm where radiophonic interstellar explorations collide head on with a smooth yet brutalist Techno vision.

'Etra' plays heavily with perceptions of time, plunging the listener into a world of continuously shifting and shuffling timbre and rhythm, inviting and embracing a wandering, disorientated experience, enveloping us deeper and deeper into the dance. There is a sustained human element to 'Etra', represented by the reoccurring ecstatic samples of breathlessness which pierce these otherwise otherworldly soundscapes.

'Etra' gradually becomes a very visual experience, the space in the music allowing ample room for the imagination to conjure it's own sight - a world perhaps where eyes scan a scorched dystopia, pausing briefly on snapshots of remaining life where focus is gained and these snapshots are explored further, a constant inner and outer zoom of the miniatures of individual circumstance and psyche.

Thematically Manta takes his influence largely from J.G. Ballard and Italo Calvino, and does little to hide this admiration. Musically Etra's influence is derived from three interconnecting stems, creating a dizzy dance where Detroit giants such as Drexciya and Terrence Dixon mingle with Pole and Basic Channel under the all encompassing squashed funk gaze of Moodymann.

Manuel says of the record...'While the previous record focused on emotional semantics of architecture and the extension of their effect on the human psyche, Etra focused on how people imprint their ego and character in their surroundings either by projection or construction, their spatial manifestation if you will. The 9 tracks here are exercises to try to imagine how one would create that manifestation not in space but in time, using sound rather than brick.

One of Perc's favourite tracks returns on the Perc Trax Ltd sub-label, an imprint purposely created for reissues and collaborative projects. Originally released in 1993 as part of Thomas Heckmann's 'Drax Three EP', it was featured on Carl Cox's seminal F.A.C.T. mix CD on React and alongside 'Amphetamine' has become one of the biggest tracks of Heckmann's career. Each of these three new remixes keeps the spirit of the original mix in place whilst twisting it into something radically different and contemporary.

Opening up proceedings are Perc & Truss, hot on the heels of their recent sets for Awakenings and their 'Two Hundred' 12'. Built on one of their trademark distorted kick and bass assaults the mix has been a highlight of both producers' sets for months. On the B-side AnD deliver something very different to their previous releases, fusing punk drums with overdriven monosynths, which makes their forthcoming debut album even more of a mouth-watering prospect. Mission Statement:
In the Tape Studio, one of the most essential processes is the combination of one sound with another, or with many others to produce a new, composite sound. This process known as additive synthesis, is made possible from a digital and analog source. This process can have two results: (1) a single, more complex output in which the various input signals have lost their individual identities while creating a new sound (more or less analogous to the blending of colors); or (2) a texture with various individual components occurring simultaneously but distinctively. Since 1996, the Mechanisms Industries Tape Studio has been guided by composer Fanon Flowers and several anonymous associates

Token has been something of a mainstay for Inigo Kennedy ever since their very first release back in 2007. In the past eight years, we have seen a flurry of inspiring releases from the producer, each crafted with more finesse than the last. Last year, Token also saw the release of the Vaudeville LP. Here, Kennedy carved out a space in which to take on a more considered approach, thus allowing the experimental side of his sound to blossom. Clarion Call is Kennedy's first release since 2014's Vaudeville, returning to the EP format with poise.

The EP itself covers wide sonic ground in a short amount of time. It opens with pads that swell to euphoric heights, before crashing into a jittering hyper-sequenced groove. 'The Fold' lumbers forward in an off-centre rhythmic direction, wrong-footing the beat at every turn. But yet, the kicks on 'Kepler' land on the eardrums like boxing gloves to the face. Each thump gives the right-hook-left-hook treatment to the stereo-field. By the end, Kennedy's percussive workout has reached its climax, and the fragments that remain recede into the surroundings.

Kennedy has a special talent for marrying earth-shattering dynamics with rapturous atmospheres. Where many producers whip up grandiose sci-fi soundscapes, Kennedy reels back to the dark and poignant. The result is an EP with sorrowful depth and technical power in equal measure. If this EP is a clarion call from Kennedy to his listeners, it is a call-to-arms to producers and club-goers alike. Kennedy reminds us: we should expect more from the dance-floor.

After sending Scala to Berlin, twirling his Hélice in London and colonising Bapteme in Cologne, Agoria declares 'Independence' in Barcelona. An anthem that's been a highlight of the summer for Maceo Plex and Agoria, Independence's date has finally being fixed.

Agoria's debut release on Ellum is an equally sinister and experimental affair. Apocalyptic drum crescendos are broken up by warm synths tones and washed against baritone basslines on the title track. Architectural's stunning rework elevates it to an eerie, cavernous space. 'Gravity' featuring Nicolas Becker, features spoken word layered over a driving, hypnotic groove. This alternative vinyl version of 'Independence' is only available on the 12" features the infamous Russian pianist Mikhail Rudy.

Sébastien Devaud AKA Agoria was living in rural France when he first got hooked to electronic music. He started producing and releasing his own tracks in 1999 and gained international recognition with a series of 12´s on Pias recordings in 2002. Agoria has released four critically acclaimed long-players and countless singles. Resident Advisor named his At The Controls compilation series one of the best mix-cds of the past decade. He also founded Nuits Sonores, one of the best European festivals is currently experimenting with cinéma with film director Jan Kounen & with contemporary art.

Distorted Techno excursions. Opal Tapes figurehead Stephen Bishop has pushed a lot of boundaries with his label and his own music under the Basic House moniker since bursting onto the scene a few years back. The label in particular carved out a deep niche early and his momentum seemingly can't be stopped. "Caim in Bird Form" originally appeared as a very limited cassette on Digitalis earlier in 2013 and now finds its proper home on wax. This is Bishop in top form.
Basic House is never static, always burrowing toward the center of the Earth but missing by a few degrees. "Caim in Bird Form" is gritty, like the teeth of an ancient creature chewing its way through the rocks. Stilted beats crawl ahead on "I Found You," leaving tonal wreckage behind to be gobbled up by anyone watching, anyone who can hear. Each crack is another bone breaking, each stutter another crack in the ice.
Bishop ups the ante with the bleak futurism of "64 Bummer." Synths float skyward blacking out the sun underneath a veil of heavy bass. It's one of the album's masterstrokes, along with the caustic sonics of the title track. And then, just when the darkness gets out of hand, the circus comes to town in the form of "Ultra-Misted" to massage your ears, offering a hand in the night. "Caim in Bird Form" is undeniable proof that Basic House is one to watch.

Label founder Mire composes the debut release on Nuthe Recordings. Hailing from East London he sets the tone for the label with his own vision of techno and experimental music.
The First track on the EP is Distorted Silhouettes a dark pulsating, bass heavy techno cut. Sitting on the flipside is Entropy this is more melodic, with a twisted analogue synth lead throughout and a pumping 4x4 kick. The final track is a haunting droney soundscape which cuts like a razor at points and tails off as an outro into what's coming next on the imprint.

Ricardo Donoso has composed a new paradigm of ambient music, in which concrete textures and digital synthesis expand on an abstract world in constant movement & mutation. Under a chain of progressive rhythm's, cinematic textures and elegant melodicism, Donoso's work pushes through with piercing strength, manipulating a sonic wave through space with nothing but pulse and mind blowing intensity.

Although Donoso's work has coalesced into a much broader and dynamic beast, his early work continues to be a source of inspiration. 'Symmetry' now compiles Donoso's first three albums, lovingly referred to as the 'Digitalis Trilogy' which includes Progress Chance, Assimilating the Shadow and As Iron Sharpens Iron, One Verse Sharpens Another in a deluxe 4xLP BOXSET & 3xCD edition.

A truly entrancing journey of polyrhythmic counterpoint, the 'Symmetry' collection takes in influence from minimalist composers such as Reich & Riley, early techno and trance, and lush and deeply harmonic ambient music. It's possible to look at the 'Symmetry' trilogy as a blueprint to Donoso's later work in both its musical scope & thematic grandeur. Amidst all of its wide eyed, dreamlike states there is always a rumbling of subtle violence piercing just underneath the surface creating a truly immersive experience.

In what is a momentous occasion for Soma Records, we hit the milestone 400th release of the label and who better to see this in than label heads SLAM as they lead up to their new album due to drop this October. Soma are proud to present the double A sided Rotary/Catacoustics. Slam have been locked away in the studio these past months working hard on their latest album which sees them look to past machines and new technologies to form the base of this new album. These album sessions have spawned two raucous tracks that state where the veteran producers are with their sound. These tracks have the dance floor firmly in mind and display the years of experience Slam have in knowing what exactly will whip up a storm.

Rotary opens the EP with a definite analogue rawness as a storming synth hook leads the track from the offset. Keeping it stripped back the boys allow the hook to bend and evolve over the course of the track, reminiscent of early Hood-esq minimalism. Straight up percussion backs the track and keeps the groove true to Techno.

Catacoustics takes things down a deeper route as low subs rumble while a nicely delayed bell tone reverberates gently in the background giving depth to the track. Strung out percussion flutters in the back as subtle time stretch is applied giving this a trippy and mind melting feel. Slam pull back on the reigns ever so slightly going into the break as yet more subtle builds give tension before firing back with the hypnotic feel essence of the track

Soma400 signals the start of the countdown to the latest Slam album and also shows why they have been in electronic music for over 20 years.

This EP could easily be titled "The Many Flavors Of Taste Peter" as he effortlessly rolls out a variety of styles in this four-tracker.

The journey begins with the aptly titled "Devil Chords" where we are quickly introduced to thick, mutating chords which are clearly taking the center stage here. An extra set is further applied, seamlessly leading the way to a breakdown fortified by an intense breakdown.

On the title track, Taster Peter nods firmly to Detroit with classic, subtle stabs and a nostalgic arpeggio just grazing the surface over the shuffling hats. This one is clearly a number where the melodic elements do the talking. In dubspeeka's rendition we a get a meatier version, with emphatic drums taking control while still maintaining the spacey vibe.

Closing up, "Nocturne" is a subliminal ride in the night (obviously), with sonars going off at all angles, and eerie effects teaming up with tense atmospherics to keep us on our toes. The low end rumble and intricate drum programming make sure that everyone is moving to the dark beat.

"The psychic resistance is repaired in the darkest part of the shadow and wait to receive the answer from the minimum vibrations" Shades comes to the 4th release and presents a dark, intense and mental V/A signed by Takaaki Itoh, Refracted, Error Etica and P.God. The sound is transversal for all the four tracks: the Refracted and Error Etica's one rapresent the most deep and mental part of the V/A, while Takaaki Itoh and P.God bring their industrial floor-killer influences.

Following on from the massive TLB002 which featured some of the most played tracks of last summer including Ossie's Fela Kuti rubdown and ph0tomachine's dusty rnb workout of Musiqs H.E.R, The Love Below has returned with yet another slice of limited edition wax, packed with an eclectic array of soulful sex appeal just in time for summer. First up one of the most exciting UK producers, Eliphino, turns out a killer rerub of a vintage slice off will.i.am. The results are stunning with a slow burning groove and a killer vocal hook working it to the bone. Next up the hottest name in house musicSeven Davis Jr covers a rate Prince jam and as you can imagine the outcome is pure purple perfection. Rounding off the package in style is a housed up summer edit from REKchampa, which is destined for some heavy rotation on club terraces this summer.

Slightly odd warehouse-kind-of-find from the West Coast of USA. Tracky beats, driving organ-synth-pads on the B, sometimes almost jacking and definitely a little bit wrong. This 12" has more real taste of the underground than the regular "limited edition" hyped labels these days.

This highly anticipated double A-side 10' is the next chapter of Matt Edwards & Joel Martin's Quiet Village story, and sees the duo veer into a world poles apart from their cult 'Social Music/Change' 12' on Phonica White earlier this year which was lauded by the likes of Zip, DJ Harvey & Milo.

Showcasing a more textured electronic dub groove, these pieces were both created during one of Matt and Joel's rare Berlin studio sessions. Spending time soaking up the atmosphere of Germany's 24-hour techno town, with the infamous 'Hardwax' record store at its epicenter, it is not surprising that QV weren't inspired by the city's metal machine music.

'Whether it was a conscious decision or not, we definitely channeled the vibrations of 'Rhythm & Sound's' rugged Space-Reggae and used this loose blueprint to experiment with sonic imagery rather than studio trickery. The results of these sessions yielded both the remix of 'Bahadir' and then our own 'Untitled' cut, of which we recorded several 'versions''.

On closer inspection this release on Edwards' Pyramids Of Mars - the Rekids boss's outlet for experimental and non-dancefloor projects - is actually a natural progression from their psychedelic Balearic masterpieces like 'Pillow Talk' and 'Too High To Move'. Since the beginning of their career Matt and Joel have always employed the techniques of Dub in their productions and feel there is no space for treading the safe and familiar path in their work.

One of the coolest techno labels at the moment comes with another fine release. Not the standard 90's loop techno inspired tracks but nice smart raw machine driven House/Techno hybrids full of warmth and energy taking us on a journey to the higher echelons of the dance floor. Recommend!

Diagonal embrace the varied talents of Alessio Natalizia in Not Waving mode with the bonerattling, oil-spitting New Beta mechanics of Get Serious, landing ahead of his stunning Animals full length, due in 2016.Cut for kicks and thrills at 45rpm, the revved-up momentum of Get Serious clearly deserves its own side of black crack for optimal impact in the club.It's far more up-for-it than anything you may have previously heard in his string of releases over the last few years, packing the madness of a Powell record with the locked-on EBM of late '80s Belgium and reliably effective Italian 'floor finesse. It's utterly ruinous and sprung for the rave. You know what to do!

Ground-Fault- Interrupt (Part 1) - (Part 2 release date 1st June feat. Sleeparchive, P.E.A.R.L, Alderaan & Coldgeist)

Weekend Circuit, record label born out of London, England, is an artistic entity focussing primarily on releasing first-rate Techno since it's inception in 2013. Starting from humble beginnings, the outfit have rapidly grown into one of the cities most important collectives. The inaugural release, helmed by Dax J, helped set the blueprint for a well-honed, forward-glancing sound that owes as much to London as it does to Berlin.

Previous releases have given artists a stand-alone platform upon which to extend their music to the masses, and now the label releases its first V/A series, Ground-Fault-Interrupt.

Artists such as Developer and Sleeparchive return to the imprint, this time joined by both veteran producers and newcomers alike. Yan Cook, Alderaan & P.E.A.R.L. also surface, giving this compilation a unique flavour and displaying a true understanding of the label's direction.

DJ Bone returns to Leftroom this July with a fresh two-tracker entitled 'It's All About'.

Detroit's Eric Dulan, better known as DJ Bone, is a name synonymous with the Techno scene across the globe having headed up his Subject Detroit imprint and worked with pioneering Techno imprint Metroplex since the mid 90's. Here we see Bone return to the Leftroom imprint following his critically acclaimed 'Cultural Variance' EP on the label in December of 2014.

Title cut 'It's All About' kicks off the EP and sees Bone deliver a typically gritty up-tempo workout, laid out over it's five and half minute duration with frenetic stab sequences, raw distorted rhythms and sporadic spoken word breakdown of zealous manner.

On the flip Dulan offers up 'Tipping Point', which retains a similar aesthetic yet employs a softer sound palette with soft chord cycles gradually blooming and retracting across its seven minute duration as the sturdy drums smoothly carry the assimilating groove.

Following his hallucinogenic EPs'Dust' and 'Green Man' for R&S, Alex Smoke returns with his latest opus 'Love Over Will', perfectly crafted electronica, brimming with layers that mixes depth, euphoria and social commentary in equal measure. Love Over Will sees Menzies further exploring the melding of his voice with intricate electronics and discordant melody.

The title 'Love Over Will' is a play on "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. Love is the law, love under will", the central tenet of Thelema, created by famed occultist and ceremonial magician Aleister Crowley, with the central thread of the album being "a statement on the times we are living in, but with an optimism relating to ways forward that are possible".

Also Menzies's work has been informed by his ongoing installation work with artist Florence To, primarily on the links between sound and spirituality (ritual music, psychoacoustic effect).

The album's palette of otherworldly strings, distortion, clicks and synths acts as a bed for Menzies' voice, calling to mind the emotive fragility of Arthur Russell, at times confessional, others loudly declamatory - 'Love Over Will' is unquestionably Menzie's finest work to date.

Uncompromising recording sessions in his Berlin based laboratory transformed into five dancefloor tools, wich shows Djedjo's non linear vision of techno music. In other words, it's an ode to synthetic music, resulting in cold landscapes, dystopian atmospheres, mechanical feel and with an obvious references to Detroit electro, and to warehouse techno. And that is just a small portion of gladness, because expect more good stuff by Djedjotronic later this year.
