A year after their much-praised debut album STRGTHS, Avian's cryptic Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH are ready to present their second album, Linear S Decoded, this August. From the elegiac opener Entering The S-Cloud, the intensity of tracks such as Elocution and Rudimental Retreat, to the disorienting beauty of Wading Guise and aptly-titled closer Monolithic Conclusion, the LP deftly broadens the scope of SHXCXCHCXSH's singular aesthetic.

Keeping their mystic aura has always been important to SHXCXCHCXSH - so important they didn't want to take part in what they deemed 'the language game' until now. Their previous strict use of fragmented track titles illustrated an ideal of communication purely through music, to service the focus on sound via complete abstraction. Breaking the habit with Linear S Decoded doesn't necessarily indicate a complete break with their approach, but an adjustment to the direction they have travelled since they first emerged two years ago.

As Resident Advisor identified in a perceptive review of the previous LP, among SHXCXCHCXSH's key strengths is the imbuing of their productions with a narrative sense, a sonic progression that moves beyond techno's standard repetition - it's an element of their work that's heightened further on Linear S Decoded, pulling focus from the more grinding, brutalist elements of their distinct sound to reveal the more melodic, almost optimistic, elements that had previously remained in the shadows of the productions until now.

The track titles themselves are evocative about the new record whilst revealing few specifics: no less intriguing than the clustered consonants of the prior release titles, hinting at deeper underlying narratives at play, possibly historically informed, or a fiction of the duo's own making. Either way, definitive answers will not be forthcoming: the mysteries that lay beneath SHXCXCHCXSH's approach to music making have long been an intrinsic part of their appeal. Linear S Decoded presents the opportunity for newcomers and those already au fait with the duo to employ their deciphering abilities, whilst simultaneously offering an expanded and ever more richly detailed landscape to traverse...

There is a certain darkness which pervades his body of work and Explora is no stranger to it, submerging the listener deep in the void somewhere between the crazed collectivity of the dancefloor and the inescapable solitude of the home that awaits. Inspired in equal parts by the solace of Berlin winter, dormant emotions following the 9/11 attacks and psychedelic experimentation, Kupfer proves once again that much magic can be made on a one-take hardware jam in his bedroom.

The irresistible force of MICHAEL FORZZA as a dj/producer has to be his originality. The track 'Exposure' for instance embodies his personal view of how a monotonous track can rock and move a large crowd. Originally released in 2003 on his own Perimeter label, the record is still being played by the biggest names around.

Although he doesn't like to be pinpointed, his sound can be situated somewhere between minimal and techno. His earlier work had that typical dark and dynamic color on witch Michael has a patent, but in recent years he has proved that he can also produce music filled with pure emotion, that evokes an irresistible feeling of love.

Michael likes to evolve as an artist by taking chances and experimenting. The Karma EP on "Moving Vibrations" in 2012 is a perfect example of that. The EP presented two deep tracks with a minimal twist, embodying music as a spiritual exercise.

Now he has produced a new gem for 100% Pure, with a massively epic sound.

Cititrax is proud to present a 4 song EP by Broken English Club. After the strong reception of the Violence & Divinity split with Silent Servant as well as his solo EP for Jealous God, here Oliver Ho (also known for his Raudive alias) continues in a similar vein, delivering sparse vocals and shards of live instrumentation over heavy, stuttering beats and bleak synths

On Records, the label of Dutch artist agency On and On, have impressed with their first quartet of releases. Alongside established Techno talent, the label have also given a platform to up and coming producers from the motherland.
005 introduces us to Gal Tsadok Hai. The young Amsterdam based artist describes his own sound as deep, dark, rhythmic and spacious, as is evident on both originals on his MOLAR EP. Rhythmic grooves and industrial sounds combine on the cavernous title track, whilst Sgear, on the flip, introduces a prominent snare and tough purring synth line.
The first of the remixes comes from label boss Jeff Rushin, who strips back Molar, creating an equally spacious rework with a clean sound and crisp feeling. Italian producer Ness gets to grips with Sgear, upping the tempo and intensity to create a more aggressive take on the original.

This is a piece of Estonian underground music's history. More than 20 years ago, in Estonia, Hypnosaurus were pioneers of deep house and techno, the first ones to have gone with this new strange rhythmic music into the studio and into the dark basements of Tallinn.
"Untitled" is two guys with trashy equipment, Soviet synthesizers, an obsession for Cabaret Voltaire and excitement for the sound they heard coming from far away American cities. This krauty jam was released on Hypnosaurus' first cassette in 1991, an edition of just 20, given out to friends and people they knew.

The remix is by the strange and wonderful Chicago producer Hieroglyphic Being. This is soul music of rusty funk-robots. For this remix he is said to have tried out new methods of dealing with sounds, switching them on and off.

Belfast's DSNT Records present Mr Jones' 'Reality Check' - the next instalment in a patient stream of course and intricate techno releases that is due out in late August 2014 featuring remixes from Inigo Kennedy and AnD.

Following up Mark Rogan, Dead Sound and JoeFarr, DSNT's fourth EP brings the Dutch newcomer to the foreground who has 'started to make waves with the Netherlands Techno circuit and has already developed a fine craft through which he projects dark, wavering, acidic patterns on to linear Techno music.'

Surely a mesmerizing highlight in the artist's career, the album represents several deep and melodic excursions in nowadays deep and tech house, while her own imprint Intacto Records also added a beautiful gem in its discography.

Now the Amsterdam based DJ delivers another momentum for the world famous label, with an impressive line-up of producers reshaping some of her already monumental tracks into something completely new. Yes, the remixes are upon us!

Illogical Directions The Remixes Part 1
Part 1 features an elaborate version of Panomanic, delivered by the one and only Ellen Allien, who lets the original house groove get overtaken by fierce basslines, oldschool rhythms and synth lines. And then there's Fe-Male, one of the most hypnotic housetracks featured on Illogical Directions, now turned into a slick minimal techno groove by Spanish duo Pig & Dan.

Creating subtle vibes at the start of the album, Essence now gets Mathias Kaden's signature when it morphs into a bass driven techhouse crowdpleaser, definitely one to get things going! Finally it's up to Douglas Greed to create a totally other scene for Discourse My New Romance, one of the key tracks of the album, featuring the vocals of The Knife's Karin Dreijer. This time the darkness of the original turns into pleasantly schizophrenic house music bringing just as much freakiness as dance floor glamour.

Russell has amplified the disorientating elements that swim around the fragmented drum breaks and squirting laser blasts, challenging dancefloors at the same time as tearing them up.
'Rough 2' opens the release up in classic style - a frenetic batacuda style drum announces the track before giving way to unhinged re-pitched synth chords and swirling filter blasts, on the flip 'Butchwax' provides a muscular drum track and crunched up, stuttering stabs of funk, whilst the twisted 'C'mon Let's Slow Dance' sees Russell going further and deeper then ever before with a semi beatless, hallucinogenic laser light show that really pushes the boundaries of his sound to breaking point.

Yan Cook is the Ukrainian techno producer unearthed by Delsin sister label Ann Aimee around this time last year. Now he is back with four uncompromising and dance floor focussed tracks on his Morse EP.
'Morse' itself is like a blizzard-y radio transmission of techno from Cold War era Russian - it's a fine grain and grimey tack with big thrusting kick drums and rusty synth lines that just roll and roll. 'Lighthouse' is a little less stormy, instead focussing on a paranoid and insistent synth hook as cantering kick drums rumble below.

'Nylon' on the flip is an aggressive an arresting offering once again. It's a spacious thing with mysterious bell sounds off in the distance, jarring drums and angry percussion all rattling along at a quick and inviting tempo, before closer 'Suspense' keeps you hanging on a knife edged with its loose and jangling melody lines and thumping kicks. This is austere yet atmospheric techno at its finest, just as Ann Aimee likes it.

Visionist resets his Lost Codes imprint as a new PAN sublabel, Codes, with a killer, collaborative grime/techno collage by Acre and Filter Dread. Marking the first time either producer has collaborated properly, they prove a vital pairing in equilibrium between industrial techno engines, body-scanning UK bass tones and gritty, diffuse urban-gothic atmosphere. Upfront, 'Drumz34' burrows in with viral 8-bit squiggle and squashed subs before 'Flash Speed' arches up a skeletal, mutant 8-bar onslaught and 'Trashed' bruks out the toms on a swooping halfstep techno flex.
Down below, they come with a fiercely darkside droog raver called 'Life', whipping reversed drums, bass and mentasms with very canny Wendy Carlos vibe, whilst 'Unknown' deals in guttural, monotone functions, and 'Blood Artist' pulls coarse lo-fi drums and electronics into sharp focus on an elegantly wasted sino-garage skip.

A proper belter for those who it love it raw and off the wall.

Key Fachwerk team member Sascha Rydell is back on his home label founded by Mike Dehnert with another EP of searing techno. 'Thought Disorder' is a cantering, bulky affair with clipped vocals trapped in the middle of meaty drum loops. It's a well-swung track that has plenty of height to it, while 'Haptic' appears to make sue of the same vocal phrases. This time it's subtler, buried deep in a minimal percussive line and dubby, swaying drums. With some cute finger clicks joining the fray, this one is perfect for early evening warm-ups where the opener is a peak time banger. Filling up the b-side is Moony's remix of 'Rings Of Smoke' - a track by Roberto that was released on Fachwerk's previous EP. This new remix is a jazzy bit of dubbed out house with whispered vocals, uneven but warm piano chords and rolling kick drums that all make for a seductive and propulsive listen

It was only a matter of time before the prolific electro stalwart Scape One aka Kurt Baggaley made an appearance on CPU. Scape One's penchant for Sci-Fi is reflected in Recombination, an electronic adventure through space time, stopping briefly for an atomic war. Kurt's vast experience and collection of analogue synthesizers can be heard to full effect with crushing bass, bubbling leads and arpeggiated sweeps throughout. Strong artistic influences on the EP from John Foxx, Vangelis to Autechre (Incunabula-esque).

All in all a cocktail for the perfect electro cut.

Zwei Weisheiten aus dem Modeselektions-Einmaleins. Erstens: Eine Selektion ist immer so gut wie der Abstand zwischen ihren unterschiedlichsten Gliedern, je größer, desto besser. Zweitens: Eine Selektion ist umso besser, je öfter man überrascht wird und je mehr neue Entdeckungen zu machen sind. Bevor die Lichter angehen, hier noch ein paar harte Fakten: "Modeselektion Vol. 03" kommt erstmals ohne eigenen Modeselektor-Beitrag aus (vom Souleyman-Edit mal abgesehen), einfach, weil es so viel gute Musik von alten und neuen Freunden gab. "Puttin' on the Green Hat" stands for something much more than mere clothing
accessories. The green hat is a part of a creative technique from Edward de Bono,
known as the "Thinking Hat" or also "6 Thinking Hats". Every hat has a different
color and has a different meaning:
The red hat: emotional thinking
The black hat: critical thinking
The yellow hat: optimistic thinking
The white hat: analytical thinking
The blue hat: ordered, moderated thinking
The green hat: creative thinking
The aim is the solution of a task from every point of view and thereby reaching the best possible
result. The green hat as a symbol of creativity and ideas is mirrored in the remix-concept. For the
first three, the venerable master of electronic dance music has consciously brought together artists
with different styles and influences.
The beginning is brought to you by his Italian associate Nihil Young who has released a number of
EP's and albums on his label Frequenza Records among which are "Rave - O - Lution" with Alex
D'elia. In late summer the release of Thomas Lizzara's (Ostfunk Rec. Berlin) version along with Ingo

Maxime Dangles makes his long awaited return to Break New Soil with a strong four track package full of Techno madness. With the "Mentor EP" the French man focuses on a raw and untamed approach, away from cheap sensationalism and effect overdosage.Maxime's title track "Mentor" represents all of the above in an impressionable way. This peak time weapon aims for maximum damage. A throbbing synth pattern morphs it's way throughout this beast of a track and is backed by a thumping groove programming. "Junehaha" is deep, weird and full of energy! Maxime stirs abstract sounds and dark atmospheric layers into one explosive mix."Grillon D'Amour" is drenched in droning, rolling bass and super-snappy beats, moodily stomping it's way through trippy synth lines and mind-bending FX. You'll find some low end funk in there as well!Dangles closes out the EP with the swirling "Kalke" track. The rhythm is typically taut of a Maxime Dangles tech stomper, with frenzied synths anchored by swathes of infinitely undulating bass and carefully crafted percussive patterns. Filtered breakdowns heighten the tension, momentarily reigning back the power of this meaty track before it thunders back into life.

Idle Hands has been broadening its reach both sonically and geographically this year, turning to ambient electronic dub with Portland's Strategy, atmospheric broken beat with London-based Leif and stripped down house with German producer Matt Karmil. This latest EP brings the focus back to Bristol with O$VMV$M, the latest project to emerge from the Young Echo milieu. Comprised of Neek (commonly found bashing out grime and steppers alongside Kahn) and Amos Childs (of Jabu and Zhou amongst others), the eight track release marks a step into even more experimental territory for Idle Hands while retaining the principles of soundsystem pressure that form a backdrop to the label's activities. The brief vignettes on IDLE026 are the result of sample scouring from all kinds of unlikely sources, following the practice Neek and Amos undertook when preparing their first cassette release for No Corner earlier in the year.

Since Diagonal's incarnation, EVOL's hardcore aesthetic and sense of absurdity has been a key influence on the label and Powell's DJ sets. In effect, DIAG023 marks a knowing gurn of respect between these mutually advanced mentalists.The two-part, 20 minute 'Flapper That' may be EVOL's most accessible boffin-style banger to date. The a-side writhes and morphs with hypernatural sensuality to explore sinuous integers of an acidic waveform, contorting convulsive digiteridooz into bendy, wild pitching bleeps and gabber-kick staccato. The A1 was never a big surprise. Mattias Fridell's 'Consumed for Profit'
was one of the tracks of the year, and surely Fridell's personal best
track, and was played by anyone who at least plays a bit of techno in
their sets. The usual Fridell quality of standard and a tight synth line!

A2 sees French artist Electric Rescue's 'Quarries' in the A. Mochi
remix. A peak-time banger, slapping the synth stabs right into your
face. This one always gets the floor jumping.

The B-side kicks off with label-head Advance Human's 'Pure', stripping
things down to some essential moody but slamming techno, right up there
amongst his best productions.

B2 has +platform's 'Mosses' closing things off, and as we came to know
and love from +platform, it's out there, dubby and dreamy techno, born
for those deeper 'Berghainesque' floors.

One Sided Black / White Picture Vinyl!
By now Dutch label Shipwrec has well and truly established itself as a go-to outlet for excellent modern electro. As such, it makes perfect sense that their next release - a special one-sided pressing - is from revered electro specialist Anthony Rother. It sees the man offer up some pure dancefloor fire that is part techno, part electro, but wholly awesome. What's more, the blank b-side of this extra boutique 180g vinyl will be silkscreen printed and will come in a special sleeve. It will be a limited run, with no represses, and is the start of a new series of such releases from Shipwrec. The track, entitled 'Balkonien', is a broody affair from the off, with a supple, rubbery bed of kicks down low and a molten synth line up top. As things unfold, a nebulous network of celestial pads spiral about, the drums bounce more and lots of sinewy machine lines dance about and have you doing the same. It's an instant modern classic full of electronic soul, frankly!

After debuting earlier this year on a collaborative split with Max_M for Parachute Records, Italian producer Wrong Assessment lands on M_Rec Ltd with his very own 12'.'Disillusionment' is a tightly programmed techno tool packed with groove. There's a warm and almost melodic bass line here, clearly indebted to the Detroit groove, but darkened as it has become custom with Italian producers and their sound. The loops that develop around it are of the hypnotic kind... the sound that recently made M_Rec Ltd Label of The Month on Resident Advisor. Parachute affiliate CW/A (already involved in Clockwork and Avatism) delivers a prime time remix that transform the original into an aggressive techno anthem. Playing intelligently with the elements of the original, the remix delineates a very interesting narrative as it fluctuates between harshness, funk and psychedelia. Expect major playtime. On the flip side, 'Persecutory Beliefs' is basically a tribute to all proper techno dancefloors. With tension and tightness, the track revolves around a forward driving ravey refrain perfected for those late night sessions. Closing the EP, 'Inner Turmoil' follows a similar path, but gets druggier and more crepuscular as it evolves. Like throughout the entire EP, there's a love for proper 90s techno at play here. Dark stuff for late, late nights.Is it clear that Max_M and his label M_Rec Ltd have discovered major talent in Wrong Assessment. Expect more great things throughout 2015.

While music in its definitive nature fills both space and time, creating environments in which we live and breathe, these miniature dramaturgies string together to become the screenplay to ones existence. Sometimes chosen, and often times forced, these sounds influence the subconscious and designate emotions. Purposely flowing fluently through a spectrum ranging from theatrical to rapturous tensions that mingle through the night. Cio D'Or's cinematic compilation for Semantica explores another side of techno, a niche home to Cio where each intricate sound takes a risk for the sake of progression.

Raw Rootz returns with our third release and welcomes the newest signing Jorge Savoretti to the family. The Argentinian house hitman delivers the next of our exclusive 250-press vinyl releases in the form of his Rise Up EP.

His unfaltering run of releases, including appearances on Esperanza, Rogue Society and his very one Savor Records, continues with his latest brace. The relentless bass-heavy groove and spoken vocal of the title track is an instant winner and backed impressively by the tougher and etcher synth driven number The Signal.

Getting to grips with Rise Up on the remix tip are label heads Raw Rootz and Bass Culture artist Marcman. The former takes the original on a tougher run, maintaining and adding to its driving energy, whilst Romanian producer Marcman turns in an equally fierce drum-laden re-rub.

Midwich is proud to present MAGAS's Heads Plus, the first proper vinyl release from James Marlon Magas since 2009's Violent ARP. For the past several years, Magas has been concentrating on instrumental production, eschewing vocal histrionics of previous work, in favor of moodier, more open-ended composition. Adam X is back with his third album release under his industrial guise, ADMX-71.
Following releases with the legendary label Hands and his own imprint, Sonic Groove Experiments, Adam paired up with L.I.E.S Records in 2014 for Redacted Files, a 12' single of slowed-down and tense EBM wizardry. Adam returns to the L.I.E.S. front with Coherent Abstractions, a brand new album of singular experiments that pull from every corner of electronic music's landscape into a comprehensive and propulsive full-length.

Coherent Abstractions pulsates with fractured rhythms, vacillating melodies and mesmerizing compositions that showcase Adam's impressive history working in all aspects of the underbelly of electronic music. Noise and industrial elements seep into the album's 11 songs, churning the cold and abrasive into feverish new territory. Though Coherent Abstractions operates primarily in sounds of solitude, guest vocalist Janina joins "Bound and Broken" for a rare vocal collaboration on an ADMX-71 track. We also hear a frantic vocal performance from the producer on Nearing Obliteration which is undoubtedly the apex of the album.

Throughout the album the music sweeps from breakbeat noir, anxious electronic dub to reflective industrial modes making Coherent Abstractions an engaging and varied listen, updating a late 80's EBM tone into modern sound design environments, while pushing a reverence for the past and heading into the deep unknown of the future.

For those unfamiliar with Adam's deeply rooted history in the New York underground, he and his brother, Frankie Bones, pioneered techno in a post-disco, pre-Guiliani, New York City through the late-eighties and onwards past the nineties producing countless records under various guises and finally opening their own shop and record label, Sonic Groove. At the same time they began throwing renegade parties, known as STORM RAVE throughout the 5 boroughs. which was, until this time unheard of in such a major U.S. metropolis and opened the door for what was to come.

Tenax Recordings are preparing to tread a new and fresh path. The Florence based label team of Alex Neri, Marco Baroni and Federico Grazzini are looking to explore their roots with a new series of vinyls, produced with the instruments and hardware that have fuelled their creative electronic journey. Accompanying the music is a new graphical concept with hand drawn artworks from Rachel Montague that explains the projects important connection with the earth.


For the first release in the series and after more than 20 years of partnership on projects including Korda, Kamasutra, Planet Funk and many more, Alex Neri and Marco Baroni join forces once again, deciding this time to release their first vinyl under their own names. With the help of Roland's historical weaponry the TR-909 and Jupiter-8, plus the legendary Moog Voyager, the pair have given birth to Mystic Tattoo. Structured melodies and techno grooves plot the lines of this epic musical painting. A masterpiece so long that stretches over both sides of the wax.

Kein Platz für lähmende Gedanken. Stattdessen gibt es nur noch Musik. Der Körper gehorcht allein dem durch den Raum ulsierenden Bass. Das ist es, wovon Raver sprechen, wenn sie erklären, was ihnen synthetische Club-Musik bedeutet.
Und genau darum dreht sich auch Verbalizer, das nun erscheinende Album von Anthony Rother, auf seinem neuen Label Nextdata.

Der Club als abstrakter Raum. Es geht um das Loslassen. Menschen machen sich frei, begegnen einander
und die Musik wird zum gemeinsamen Taktgeber.

Irgendwann nennt Rother diesen Prozess - die Dramaturgie der Ekstase', kann sich dabei aber das Grinsen
nicht verkneifen. - Die Leute sollen mit Verbalizer einfach ihren Spaß haben. Ich stand im Club und fühlte
plötzlich den Sound für dieses Album.

Verbalizer treibt im Raum nach vorn, ohne ins Intellektuelle abzugleiten. Es ist die Geschichte, der Augenblick und das anbrechende Abenteuer einer tanzenden Gesellschaft, irgendwo auf dieser Welt.
- Ich war auf der Suche nach einem expandierenden Klang. Dabei war wichtig, wie ich diesen Sound den Synthesizern in meinem Studio entlocke, so dass dabei eine Kraft entsteht, die alles Weltliche und den Alltag beiseite zu drücken vermag', erklärt Rother den hedonistischen Ansatz von Verbalizer.

Club-Tracks wie diese kommen ihrem Wesen nach ohne erzählerische Inhalte aus. Dennoch sorgen sie
beim Hörer für das Durchleben - oder besser für das Durchtanzen - ihrer ganz eigenen Geschichte. - Einige meiner vorherigen Alben haben ein komplex durchdachtes Konzept. Verbalizer wechselt
dagegen vollkommen die Perspektive: Der Inhalt und was sich aus dem Album ergibt liegt im Körperlichen, dem unaussprechlichen.'
Um es also kurz zu machen: Verbalizer - um zu verstehen, sollte
man das Album feiern.

Tel Aviv's Deep'a & Biri return to their own Black Crow imprint for their latest EP. Following the huge success of their split EP with Aril Brikha last year. The brand new productions on offer here find Deep'a & Biri channelling the tougher side of their expansive techno sound, with an intensity that marries well with the dub sonics that the duo have long made their calling card. The originals are backed by a pair of stellar remixes from Klockworks affiliate ROD and Figure's techno veteran Markus Suckut, with the former tying Circular Sector's bassline to a swung out groove and the latter turning Paralell into an acid-infused tribute to Berlin's 90s techno heyday.

KEY Records have a knack for talent-spotting. Over its short history the label, headed by underground
advocate Freddy K, has plucked early releases from the likes of Conrad Van Orton and Shapednoise, whilst
drawing attention to the insightful sounds of upstarts PVS and Hector Oaks on it's most recent release,
'Knife'. Now comes Hector Oaks' first full EP for Key, which sees the Madrid-native deliver a cool set of
functional floor works, designed with just one thing in mind.
Taking cues from classic Detroit and contemporary Berlin, this four-tracker jumps straight in with 'Our Way
Of Escape'. The ring of bells and urgent tones are then sunk into a low and bassy groove on 'New
Beginning', plied here and there with charged surges to make this a much more heady affair. On the B-side
'Internal Disorder' heads even deeper into basement techno territory with thick, distempered atmospherics
and dissonant rattles. Finally, 'Splitted Mind' delivers a melting pot of caustic noise, albeit kept at a
restrained and hypnotic simmer. All in all it's safe to say we've not seen the last of Hector Oaks.

Joris Voorn shines brightly as an ever-progressing talent amongst the pantheon of techno's leading lights. He has forged a sound that's both identifiable and individual, which shines through on Fabric 83. He weaves a sinuous tapestry from the mere strands of a staggering 65 tracks, cutting, chopping, and editing together ambient cuts, personal favorites, and contemporary melodic techno; it's impossible to take your ears away from this sumptuous mix for a single second. After a 17-year hiatus, Kevin Saunderson has returned to his beloved E-Dancer moniker with a new release next month on his label KMS. Arriving on July 6, 'Foundation' finds the Detroit pioneer in fine form, delivering the kind of intricate melodic techno he's renowned for, exemplified previously on his 1998 E-Dancer LP Heavenly.

'Out of all my other aliases - Inner City, Tronik House, Reese & Santonio, Reese Project - E-Dancer remains the one that's closest to my heart, as it represents my favorite style of music,' Saunderson recently told The FADER. 'For me, there's nothing better than music that sounds dark, deep, soulful and groovy - that still has that bass that bites but stays true to that underground vibe.

'When I create and go to that zone in my head that inspires me, I can still envision being at the Paradise Garage listening to those insane speakers, and imagine the track I'm writing is blasting on those speakers. For me, this feeling is the foundation of everything, and it it still strong enough to build on and move forward.'

Following his crowd-pleasing performance alongside Derrick May at Movement 2015, you can catch Saunderson in Europe at Showcase Paris on June 19 and the Detroit Love stage at Bloc Barcelona on June 21, among other select dates throughout the summer. Right now, he's in the midst of remixing Disclosure's 'Bang That' alongside his son Dantiez Saunderson. 'Foundation' is out on July 6 via KMS Records and you can preview it now below.

Kiev's Yan Cook here steps up from sister label Ann Aimee to big daddy Delsin, as the two imprints have been fused into one going forward, with Boris Tellegen aka Delta's carefully designed graphic covers also moving to the main label. Earlier in the year, the techno man released Morse with the Dutch outfit, and has also impressed on labels like On Records, Planet Rhythm and Dynamic Reflection with his ravey, heavily textured sounds. Up first, 'Gravity' is a metallic bit of mid tempo techno with grinding bass and gnawing synths that works to an intense peak. The hiccuping groove and stern, industrial lines make it perfect warehouse material. 'Film Grain' is a much headier, more hypnotic and stripped back techno track with subliminal drums, rolling bass and apocalyptic horizons. 'Rush' is just like it sounds - a rolling, rumbling piece of techno that crescendos throughout, forever keeping you on your toes as dusty synths ride up and down atop a firmly rooted drum line. When the release finally comes it's subtle but seriously seductive. Last track 'Flame' is another stripped back but arresting techno track with raw dreams that rock back and forth, terrified synth sounds far off in the distance and plenty of well swung bass. Overall then, this EP, with artwork by Graphic Surgery, is cut from a pure techno cloth and it will burrow deep into your brain.

With the exuberant 'Hot Inside' EP still ringing clearly in the consciousness of revellers across the world, Berlin-resident Jimmy Edgar
hands over the reigns of his newly-minted Ultramajic imprint for another vivacious outing to launch the 'Metaphysix' series, a concept
that was developed alongside long-time creative partner Pilar Zeta.
As Edgar goes on to explain, 'reality is based upon thought systems and this is the core of music and vibration, each chapter of the
series we will give these ideas to the artists for them to interpret in any way they choose.'
The inaugural edition finds two producers working around the theme of Mentalism, defined most simply as 'The All is Mind, The Mind
is All; the Universe is Mental'. The elusive Aden commences proceedings, with two claustrophobic cuts steeped in dub-techno

'Zero Set' represented a milestone in latter-day Krautrock, created in 1983 by a hugely authoritative triumvirate of the German avant-garde: Dieter Moebius, Conny Plank und Mani Neumeier. The musician, producer, remixer and self-confessed Krautrock fan Richard Fearless has dismantled the outstanding track 'Speed Display' and bequeathed two new versions to Bureau B.The original musicians:Dieter Moebius was a member of seminal bands like Cluster and Harmonia. He was, indeed still is, active as a solo artist and in various collaborations (with Conny Plank, amongst others). Conny Plank is seen as the definitive Krautrock producer, having worked with Kraftwerk, NEU!, Cluster and Ash Ra Tempel. Last but not least, Mani Neumeier, Guru Guru founder, figurehead and drummer.How the remixes came about:Delving into Conny Plank's tape archives, we came across the original 'Zero Set' multitracks. What a find! We asked ourselves: what would happen if these tapes fell into the right hands Hands which know their way around a studio, understand how remixes work -whilst according the materials in question the respect they deserve. The first name that sprung to mind was Richard Fearless. Not so long ago, he had meticulously curated a 2CD/3LP compilation of Bureau B tracks (Kollektion 4), hence recommending himself as just the man for the job.Richard Fearless:Best known as founder and frontman of the British bandDeath In Vegas,Fearless has clearly been inspired by Germn electronic music, as many of his albums reveal. A sought-after producer and remixer, he has worked with Iggy Pop, Bobby Gillespie, Paul Weller, Liam Gallagher and Hope Sandoval.He once described his love of Krautrock andrelated movements as follows: 'I always listen out for music with a sense of space; where compositions are stripped down to the barest components while retaining the power to conjure emotion. If you can trigger emotion with the most minimal amount of sound, that's job done as far as I'm concerned.'The remixes:The original was powerful enough, driven forwards by Mani Neumeier's machine-like drums and incessant bass synths, yetFearless has managed to crack up the energy levels even further. On the A-side he has grafted rhythmic patterns onto a four-to-the-floor beat and compelling bass signature. Feedback, echoing voices, a sprinkling of synth-only the most essential elements, nothing which risks overloading the mix. Meanwhile on the B-side, the original track is barely recognizable.Fearless has plucked just a few notes from the bassline and crafted a fine slice of hypnotic electro-dub with minor chord echoes.



Metal Box Mix

Spanish techno purveyors Exium make their debut on Detroit Underground with a smashing EP of thunderous, mind-altering techno.

From the restrained beginning of True Force, you might not know you are in for shock therapy, but midway through the A1 cut, the intent becomes clear. Arkheom pushes forward into spacier, yet still manic territories, never losing the paranoid feeling caught between the push and pull of percussion and noise.

On the flip, Mass Control ratchets up the nervous synth stabs, while glassy pads war with an underlying growl to really push things to the edge of sanity. Monolith rounds out side two, with a rolling bass and squelch that tunnels into your brain like a worm, as the scattered hats and swirling noise skitter along your nerve endings. The digital release offers two additional tracks, with Droxine's swirling ghostly march, and Fixxion's club friendly acid stabs finishing things off with a bang.

To top it off, the Designers Republic-designed sleeve art once again adds a stunning visual element to an already fantastic vinyl offering.

Brooklyn's Person of Interest returns to L.I.E.S. after his widely celebrated "Call this Number" debut from last year.
Once again we hear P.O.I. delivering the goods on the subtle yet massive "What You Think You Want" with it's phazed flutes, sleazy vocal, and rough house beats. "Keep it Moving" does just that on the b-side, again with a slinky laid back and somewhat sinister feel, whereas "My 97s" almost has a grime/uk kind of swing to it. Comes in an amazing full sleeve picture cover designed by Pete Leonard and P.O.I. Dancefloor approved.

London-based artist Simon Pomery makes an emphatic return to Diagonal with the Taiko fire of 'Chicks', the brutal percussive workout of 'Badgering' and a hardcore remix from Luke Younger — a.k.a. HELM. On this long-gestated follow-up to 2013's eponymous EP, the Blood Music project continues to rage, syncing Taiko-inspired drumming patterns with vicious metal guitar dissonance and contact mic haptics.'Chicks' runs at an over-stepping, febrile EBM heart rate, pelting modular palpitations made alongside Russell Haswell against walls of guitar feedback-as-melody, coming up like an oikish Keiji Haino having illicit craic with his axe. Although this is leather and denim, steel and cocaine — late '80s Belgian muscle-tech meets Swans with contact mics — the track retains a sense of humour: according to Pomery, it's about little, fluffy baby chicks. Hmmm. The shorter drone piece 'Sharking' sees Pomery forging an underwater world from junk and the rabid tones of a homemade contact mic on a drum. In 'Badgering', he reengages the 'floor by improvising squabbling electronics around a rowdy drum tattoo and bugged out vocal glitch. Corrupted memories of Endless-era Pan Sonic and strobing Bunker acid parties regress the listener/dancer into a dazed, primitive state — bruxist ecstasy enshrined in blood around the mouth.For the remix, Luke Younger (Helm) reimagines the techno cravings of the original, using electro-acoustic phasing to bring forward the original Taiko inspiration, and close off proceedings in devastating fashion.'Chicks/Badgering' announces the re-arrival of Blood Music. And it's febrile stuff.

the same title DRAGON FLY comes along with dizzying, but best placed
sound effects und a bashing buildup. We love listening to that great
sound. NECK BREAKER - not neck breaking but with a most impressive
vocal and creative seeded sound expericence. Makes us fancy for more
like this. And bäms - the EP continues with a track called ROLL ON.
Quite deep and initiated with a cool vocal - very british - the
composition ist a bit more funny - A good mood sound creates an
appetite for more. We are hot for the release on stylerockets.

For this second reference Concerns Music features three original tracks from label owner Kalter Ende basing their productions vanguard techno with dub sounds, minimal and experimental and a remix of Mike Parker unique interpretation of techno have earned him worldwide respect. In demand and prolific, we hear his work on Prologue, Mote Evolver, Semantica, Avian and many other prestigious electronic music labels. Mike's own label Geophone Continues to inspire after more than 16 years of production, always progressing and moving forward.

Perhaps Syria's most successful musical export, international singer Omar Souleyman has returned with his second proper studio effort and most personal album to date, 'Bahdeni Nami', coming this July from Monkeytown Records. For the new album Omar opened his doors to collaborations with a number of renowned electronic producers, all of whom were established fans keen to offer unique interpretations of Souleyman's established sound. Four Tet returns to produce a track, Gilles Peterson lends his considerable talents to one song, Modeselektor turn in the two fastest dance numbers of the set, and Legowelt offers a remix for the title track. Additionally Black Lips' Cole Alexander treats one of the heart-wounding ballads to a thoroughly distinctive remix that will appear on a 7' in August.

The new album was recorded closer to home, in Istanbul, and appropriately the singer is joined by traditional accompaniment. Souleyman has reunited with his favorite poet, Ahmad Alsamer (who penned his pre-west hits 'Kaset Hanzel', 'Khattaba', and 'Shift -al Mani'), heard throughout the album offering claps and wails of encouragement. The songs come alive with musical contributions and support from the virtuosic saz work of Khaled Youssef, another long time collaborator from his hometown. Keyboards by Rizan Said improvise devotedly to every tune and turn of Souleyman's choice. The lyrics are familiar territory for the singer - declarations of eternal love, consolation of one's aching heart, pleas to his lover to sleep in his arms forever - realized as four fast dance numbers, an introduction mawal, and an elaborate araby style ballad.

Omar Souleyman continues to tirelessly bring his wild dance party to all corners of the world, everywhere from SXSW to the Nobel Peace Prize Concert to rock clubs in cities around the world. Originating from the Hasake region of Syria, Omar earned his reputation by singing and leading years of weddings, birthdays, Christenings, corporate parties and more, answering invites from all peoples living in the region - be it Muslims, Christians, Kurds, Iraqis, Syriacs, Assyrians. Those parties yielded hundreds of cassette tapes at first offered as gifts and later distributed throughout the region and other Arab countries. Despite world's insistence to associate him with his home country's unending war, Omar gives back nothing but Love.

323 to Plaza punches its way through some dirty acidic movements before settling into a deep groove augmented by swirling keys.Chocolate Almond is a quasi afro affair . Heavy reverb and dub action compliments a rolling drum workout.
The release is finely sealed with an Ob Ignitt remix of 323 To Plaza. His first outing on wax for a while he pitches things up, tightening the groove & increasing the tension of the original.

A big welcome to Kling Klong co-boss Rainer Weichhold and his first own release in 2013 on his label. Together with his two friends Dimitri Andreas (Kortrijk/Belgium) and Namito (Berlin/Germany) they built two bouncy tracks, perfect to hi-jack your floor and festival stage.

The Teste train marches on with these excellent versions of their classic track "The Wipe". This time it's Mike Parker and Steve Bicknell giving a fresh take on Techno heritage.
