Pascal Hetzel - Divisions, Tuff City Kids Rmx

After rockin' floors with his debut EP 'Feel That Beat' in April 2014 Pascal Hetzel now returns to our rough'n'raw underground sidekick UYX-Series with his new 12 'Divisions", serving two variations on the main track plus a massive rework by the infamous pairing Tuff City Kids, a well-rounded package that will be a vital contribution to loads and loads of fully loaded club nights throughout the the next months. Entering technoid realms with the EP's opener 'Divisions (Downstairs)' Pascal Hetzel relies on a significant bassdrum punch and a simple but effective arrangement of dubbed out, subaquatic stabs to get crowds moving, adds up some some raw, unprocessed hi-hats, haunting sweeps, well-set filter movements and a great tribute to one of the classic oldskool rave masters - a high-octane tune for crowds already on fire. The following 'Divisions (Upstairs)' keeps energy levels high as well, serving more punchy drums whilst focusing on a softened, more uplifting and positive feel when it comes to synth works and melody, bringing in a perfect p.a.r.t.y.-vibe for all those who love to balance on the thin line between TechHouse and classic stab-heavy House. There's no doubt that Mr. Pascal Hetzel is fusing the best of both worlds in this tune. Flipping the wax we see the Tuff City Kids on remix duties. The collaborational studio force of Gerd Janson and Phillip Lauer is bowing down to the intensity of early hardcore days when they're unleashing this jack-hammer of a rework - and it is a beast for sure. A serious amalgamation of a reverb-heavy foundation, oldskool sawtooth signals, dark and slightly filtered signature stabs and twisted breakbeat abuse is sending for horns, fog-mac

Christian Piers - Beat Wiser

Dusky's 17 Steps opens 2015 by welcoming its first signed artist to the label in the much-admired London producer Christian Piers.

One half of Laszlo Dancehall with Leon Vynehall, Christian Piers' 'Beat Wiser EP' follows his recent single on Curle Recordings which has been supported by the likes of DVS1, Âme, Axel Bowman and Jonas Kopp.

A mainstay in Dusky's sets in recent months, the lead track 'Offf' is a monstrous techno drum track rewired with Roland Alpha Juno esque hoovers and sinister atmosphere, 'Offf' has proved a reliable dancefloor detonator on both big festival stages and intimate basements in recent months.

A refreshing and dark take on classic acid, the EPs title track 'Beat Wiser' balances sharp, surging machine funk 303s with a tribal and organic percussion approach for a unique club tool.

Closing the diverse EP, 'Onn' again draws on a tribal groove, this time set against looping, hypnotic techno soundscapes.

Having checked our records, it's been a few years since the shelves at Juno were graced with some music from the studio of Italian dub techno exponent Fabio Scalabroni, so the arrival of a new 12" brandishing his work is cause for celebration. The Rohs! Records label operated by Belgium-dwelling compatriot Andrea Porcu is who we can thank for coaxing some new cuts out of Scalabroni with the Roots EP suggesting he's lost none of his production verve. "Root A" will appeal to fans of the punchier tracks from the Giegling discography whilst the B side track has a real slinky vibe to the groove that really gets in your head and stays there.

Field Records - *2* Ccollection - 12'' Sampler 2/3

Sampler number 2 pulls together three tracks of deep, dubby and ambient music from French producer duo Polar Inertia, Remote_ and Sweden's Varg. His track 'Ohns Odegard' is a serene and autumnal bit of ambient with swollen pads and incidental synths making for a soothing atmosphere. Remote_'s 'Echo Of You' is just as wide open and serene but has a warm, rubbery pulse driving it along and finally Polar Inertia gets a little frazzled and intense with their loopy slow techno roller 'Sonic Outlaws'. This is yet more moody music that effortlessly transcends sounds, scenes and styles from the Field Records crew.

Ida Engberg - Blue Yonder / Junoverse

Sweden's Ida Engberg debut's on her homeland's techno institution, Drumcode, this fall with a two track EP of persistent electronic funk, the 'Blue Yonder' EP.

Having developed a formidable reputation over the past five years as a DJ, Engberg's relationship with the family began a year ago with a ferocious EP for the Drumcode sister label Truesoul, it was only a matter of time before a Drumcode EP was sealed.

Ida Engberg's reputation for tight grooves paired with dominating hooks has served her very well over the years and it's these tools in her increasingly varied production arsenal that are at the forefront of the 'Blue Yonder' release.

The title has a strong house undercurrent, which is rare for a Drumcode release, but it steadily gives way to a tapestry of looping atmospherics and repetitive percussion hits that slowly start to make Drumcode sense. The overall urgency of 'Blue Yonder' is further pressed home with the shuffling, pulsing sub-bass that rattles underneath the detailed production. Finished off with heavily effected vocals which both unnerve and excite, it's an A-side you don't want to miss out on.

'Junoverse' on the flip displays yet more of Engberg's canny abilities in terms of arrangements and tension/release moments. The drums are relentless from the off but are built upon throughout which seems to push the track to at least two moments of fever pitch, and that's without taking into account the classic 'Vibrate' vocal samples, the brilliantly OTT rave horn and deft drops. Measured and balanced stuff, but not at the expense of sheer energetic weight.

Further evidence of Ida Engberg's talents, 'Blue Yonder' is released on Drumcode early

Luigi Madonna - Follow Your Body

SUPPORTED BY: UMEK, ADAM BAYER, SLAM, SASHA CARASSI, JOSEPH CAPRIATI, MISSTRESS BARBARA, THE ADVENT, MARCO BAILEY, KAROTTE, TIMMO SAM PAGANINI, SIAN, SPEKTRE, TONY ROHR, ALAN FITZPATRICK, UTO KAREM.

Emerging on the scene in 2008, Luigi Madonna has established himself as a young, extremely gifted Italian DJ. He pays tribute to old school European techno artists in a fresh way, blending in a fusion of experimental sounds and beats. His work not only would appeal to any DJ or club-goer, but easily could attract the attention of major video game labels for an unforgettable experience.
Starting with a quick pulsing beat of a rattling hi-hat and timpani combo, 'Follow Your Body' is an intense and fun track that commands full attention from the listener. The synthetic elements build up into a comprehensive and subtle melody that easily could be sampled or used as a base for remixes (such as the case with Petter B--the Gothenburg-based DJ and producer). The circular style is broken up by these added components of variety that provide a different and unique experience to the listener. Any dancer in a club would be delighted if this track were spun. 'Halakane' is one of those breakout numbers that most DJs dream of. Starting with a low bass and drum track run through a remixer, the piece soon draws in influence from dark trance and takes it a step further. It plays with experimental sounds and rhythms. The synthesized notes and rattling gives an exotic feel to the piece. Around two minutes in, a higher melody accompanies the already hypnotic drum track. This continues to re-emerge in waves, building up with the addition of cymbals and scratching. It's ending is subtle enough to serve as a great anthem for the last song of the night as the listener is drawn out of their world. Having caught the attention of Swedish DJ and producer Petter B, the 'Follow Your Body Petter B Remix' is presented in a brilliant, original way that blends his deep techno origins from his band Hertz with contemporary dark trance and a hint of house. The throbbing beat utilizes the sophisticated layers that Luigi Madonna created, most notably his spectacular hi-hat and timpani combo, while adding sounds that almost sound like a string instrument being plucked. The depth ofthe remix gives the listener the impression of the music being 3-Dimensional, surrounding their body, making this track a strong candidate to be played at clubs and concerts.

Nina Kraviz

Mr Jones 2x12

12inchREKIDS077
Rekids
25.11.2013

After the unbridled success of her eponymous debut album, and the subsequent relentless touring schedule that took her to all corners of the earth, Nina Kraviz has finally found the time to get back in the studio and has bestowed another gift of musical material to the Rekids catalogue. 'Mr Jones' is a neat, 6-track package featuring Nina's first original output since her 2012 LP, which has since been pulled apart, re-imagined and remixed by the likes of Steve Rachmad, KiNK, Marcellus Pittman, Fred P, DVS1, DJ Qu and Radio Slave to name but a few. Now it's Nina's turn to get back behind the mixing desk, and fans of her slightly lesser-known B-side 'Tanya' will be pleased to hear the release kick off with 'Desire' - as Nina's seductive voice surges in and out over a hypnotically dissonant groove with slightly menacing undertones, much like her aforementioned track. On title track 'Mr Jones' Nina's voice is very much the star of the show - musing on the mysterious man himself, while a constant 'oom-pah' backbeat props up ticks and whirling textures generated by Nina's own vocal chords. Detroit's Luke Hess joins the fold on 'Remember', and certainly brings the flavour of his hometown, as the track builds in intensity with battering ram percussion and siren-like bleeps that are sure to land this one straight in Jeff Mills' record bag. Next up, it's back to House on the spicy 'Black White', where enchanted melodic cross-rhythms filter in and out through an Afro-Caribbean bounce, while Nina chants and calls over the top. 'So Wrong' is a more solemn affair, reminiscent of the more melancholic yet danceable tracks from her much lauded album, and 'Sheer' ends the release much like it starts, unnerving whistles and warbling textures combine to disorienting effect over a steady kick drum pulse.

Based in Berlin, Slow Life is a multidisciplinary collective of Spanish and Italian creatives led by percussionist Sergio Moreira. His production first caught the ears of Phonica via a trilogy of highly impressive 12's on the group's Slow Life label, all of which were instant hits and flew out the shop.

For this release, Moreira teams up with Xinner for three of the EP's four tracks and the results are a spellbinding journey through deep, hypnotic Techno, broken beats and submerged ambience.

The artwork is once again by acclaimed visual artist Jack Featherstone, the designer of a number of sleeves for Border Community, Electric Minds, Warm and of course, Phonica.

Transllusion - The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate

In between the re-releases of the two legendary Drexciya albums released on Tresor in '99 and '01, the Berlin techno institute is proud to re-present Transllusion's 'The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate'.

For the rst time music fans will be able to experience the whole journey on vinyl. The 3LP package includes the vinyl version of the album as it was originally released plus a bonus 12' featuring 'Look Within', 'Unordinary Realities' and 'Do You Want to Get Down (Vocal De Void)' - for the rst time available on wax.

STREAM: tresorberlin.com/promo/tresor270

Produced by the late James Marcel Stinson and released in 2001 via Supremat, a short-lived sub-label Tresor dedicated to a more abstract and experimental electro sound, 'The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate' was conceived as the second part of the so-called Drexciyan Storms - a whopping stack of seven albums by the Detroit pair released under different monikers within a single year (the Tresor album 'Harnessed The Storm' being the rst).

This phase marks a groundbreaking time for the duo, their cosmos breaking wide open, right
at the dawn of a new technological era in electronic music production. All this is deeply reected in
Transllusion's rst album. Thematically, 'The Opening Of The Cerebral Gate' saw Stinson shift away from the grand narrative of the Drexciyan saga, instead exploring a sub-plot of esoteric concepts revolving around internal, mental and psychedelic tropes.

Musically, it presents the electro genius at the height of his game. The album is chock full of hypercharged arpeggios and driving pulse patterns, morse-like tones and chord stabs, huge, über-booming tympanic kicks and grainy snares, (see openers 'Transmission of Life' and 'War
of the Clones'). On the other end of the stylistic spectrum it features sweeter tones and moments of sheer, staggering beauty ('Dimensional Glide' or the CD's centerpieces 'Look Within' and 'Unordinary Realities').

In between, all kinds of alien electro funk shadings are to be found, every single track so well-executed making it impossible to pick a highlight.

The unstoppable force that has become the Will & Ink label now offers up its first remix EP. Those hand picked to work their own magic on three originals by the the Will & Ink production duo are Fachwerk's Roman Lindau, ARTS label owner Emmanuel and Yaleesa Hall, the mysterious artist who released her debut EP on this label back in 2014. Roman Lindau tackles 'Mersellanious' from the Mersenne EP and does so with his usual stripped back, well swung sense of techno funk. Emannuel goes for a fierce, intense and edgy peak time techno banger full of raw texture and incendiary drums on his remix of 'Third Wilson' from 2013. Lastly, Yaleesa Hall sets to work on a track from the same EP and does so with a little, fluid sense of hypnotic techno groove that comes embellished with heady synths and a real sense of purpose. Once again here the Will & Ink label is showing the way when it comes to contemporary techno talent.

Exoteric Continent: - Referendum

Barcelona's Exoteric Continent grounds his first ever vinyl release following cassette drops for Opal Tapes and Second Sleep. Exploring ascetic techno and electronic noise, this vinyl edition combines both his 'Referèndum' tape volumes on one fine slab. Something of a relative outsider in the balearic climes of his home city, Arnau Sala Saez pushes an intense, probing sound, both with his own music and via closely associated cohorts N.M.O., or Americans, Eric Frye, and Helmer, who've all released on his brilliant Anòmia label. With 'Referèndum' Exoteric Continent draws us into the awkward spaces and styles around techno and noise's shifting, jagged borders, using drums, percussion, magnetic tape and synthesisers to outline nine atonal and enigmatic silhouettes. Ranging from the creeping slow techno misshape of 'Percentages' thru the sagging chamber feeling of 'Posicions', to the Soisong-like gamelan tones of 'Transició', and over to the kinky industrial swing instincts of 'La Mirada Llarga', he mixes rugged structures with stranger, keening electronics in the insectoid logic of 'Autoritat', and the rubbled electro-acoustic texturhythm of 'Agrupació Civil' to forge a fractious, unstable brace of noise techno that sits somewhere between classic Pan Sonic and his Hospital lablemate Alberich.

1x each customer !
The recent series of black label 10' singles published by Max_M via his M_Rec Ltd. have come to explore another variation of the sound that the late Italian producer loved so dearly. Focusing on mood and melodies, especially heartfelt and experimental, these releases stemmed from the hypnotic techno that gained the label its success, taking a turn for leftfield atmospheres and emotional nerve.

The fourth episode in the series comes as a 2-track 12' which sees Max_M collaborate with Wrong Assessment, the young Italian producer who recently debuted with another 12' on M_Rec Ltd. After developing an honest and mutual respect for each other's ideas and integrity, the two have collaborated extensively before Max departure, sharing bills around Europe and spending large amounts of time in the studio.

1004A features that slow crescendo of hypnotic modular sounds that M_Rec Ltd. is widely recognized for, but halfway through the track, it delivers a solemn and epic melody, with sharp synths overlapping to produce something ominous and dooming. All throughout, the beat pattern mutates around an aggressive bass drum making the track a perfect example of earnest and captivating techno.

On the other side, 1004B is groovier and more psychedelic, with layers and layers of soundscapes reminding us of the heyday of ambient music (think of Global Communication) and those epic early Underground Resistance 12's. It's a beautiful trip, aided by a fluid, but equally stoic bass drum that makes the track perfect for a set of mindbending techno.

Following the recent loss of Max_M to cancer, this release represents his final production work to come out on his own M_Rec Ltd. We believe it embodies everything Max loved about techno and we're very proud for these tracks to find their way onto Max's beloved wax.

Perfume Advert - Kappa Downs

Middlesborough duo Perfume Advert (Aaron Turner & Tom Brown) follow up their long sold out debut release on 1080p with their first 12' drop 'Kappa Downs' for Where To Now Records.

Side A leads with the 7 minute drugged out deep techno stepper 'Fata', where precise woodblock drums meld themselves around a stark basin of heavy dub and experimental pulsations that are primed for both the dancefloor and in ear exploration. 'Fata' perfectly showcases the duos ability to create something that is both completely 'heads down' and minimal, yet managing to completely burst with light, soul, and bounce - a feeling that continues to flow throughout the whole EP.

'The Fens' follows with a thunk-and-junk percussion, combined with a deep rolling melody, evoking skewed fantasy imagery and absolute pastoral ambience, and 'Creep Pop' closes the collection with the thickest rhythm section, where deep-fried pads, skillfully chopped vocal samples and deep dub textures perfectly melt into each other.

'Kappa Downs' captures the rich, clubbed-up face of Perfume Advert in full flow. The release retains the DIY ethos and one-take production approach of 'Tulpa' but refines the sound palette to suit club-play and party atmospheres. There's a clear step up in this work from the 1080p release - where 'Tulpa' found the duo experimenting with rhythm and texture to a degree that created an almost collage like effect of direction, 'Kappa downs' on the other hand completely breathes the confidence that the strongest moments of 'Tulpa' showcased - the lo-fi grain of their previous work has been dropped and in it's place strides a new glossed out groove that demands attention.

'Kappa Downs' showcases a more functional and direct approach to Perfume Advert's unique take on textural house. The Korg ESX-1 is still the clunky, beating heart of each track, slamming through with throbbing kick drums and fizzing hi-hats swung to the hilt. Brown's ultra-mutated synth work conjures rich, fizzing textures and heavy pulse rhythms throughout the EP. The Korg EA-1, several DIY noisemakers and some other quirky sound generators all find their way into the pieces and Ableton Live is once again utilised as the main production canvas and performance enhancer.

Monoloc - Things Ep, Rodhead, Roman Lindau Rmxs

CLR is back with release number 83 and has something very special in store this time. Monoloc's latest effort offers a challenging mixture of various electronic music genres. Apart from the original version and the Monoloc Edit, which occupy the A side of the vinyl, two highly respected producers have contributed remixes to this project, making it an impressive assembly of potential A sides.

Monoloc's original version underlines the capacity of the Berlin based producer, to create unorthodox, suspenseful Techno with a very personal handwriting. Once more the beat structure, treatment of vocal bits, the selection of sounds and the overall arrangement and production style make his productions easily recognizable and truly unique. His additional edit surprises with a mesmerizing and enchanting sequence, which could easily become one of those laid back after hour sunrise classics. The two versions alone would make a dignified EP already, but then there are the remixes by Roman Lindau and Rødhåd, which turn this release into one of the most diversified CLR releases ever. While Roman Lindau takes a House oriented direction and excellently works out the potential of the track on the more uplifting side of the musical spectrum, Berghain resident Rødhåd explores the dark side of Monoloc's composition and delivers a haunting Techno version full of well balanced bass, phasing sequences and an irresistible, almost tribal rhythm structure.

CLR083 is one of those releases that characterises the direction the label has taken over the last years and is equally interesting to DJs from all kinds of stylistic branches of the scene. It´s available on vinyl as well as digitally and will surely grace countless record bags and playlists all over the world.

Sam Paganini - Body To Body

collecting orders for a repress!
Samuel 'Sam' Paganini is not a real newcomer anymore. After all, he produces great tracks for more than ten years now and also became an acknowledged DJ in Italy during this time. However, his career received an enormous boost since 2011 with his releases on Plus 8 and Drumcode, and now reaches a new height with his Cocoon Recordings debut. Compared to other releases, Paganini's 'Body To Body' EP draws a quite exceptional line. The title track 'Body To Body' is downright breathing the late air of Electronic Body Music and lives on elements which would have also fit into 'The House Of God' by DHS or into some of the more minimal works of Front 242. Gloomy, but still with hit potential - this is a rare mixture nowadays. Great! With 'Fire In My Arms", Paganini is then slightly moving to more contemporary areas, more loop-based and more new school, but still a little gloomy - a very unique blend and maybe representing the typical 'Paganini style' best! 'Polyester", the most House-like track, is the true hit of this EP! Nice old-school snare rolls, driving 909 ride cymbals and sirens result in a kicking Acid feeling that clearly distinguishes from the EBM mood of the first track. Well done! The digital version contains two bonus tracks: 'Hot' opens the doors to New School House as we know it most likely from labels like Cécille: rolling beats, hypnotic vocal scraps, all arranged in a very DJ-friendly way. The very powerful Chicago bass line of the second bonus track ("Paral-Lel") is fueling the dancefloor and siren and synth attacks, combined with compelling beats, result in peaktime music at its best!

U - We Decide Who Comes In

U

We Decide Who Comes In

12inchTCLR011
TECHNICOLOUR
02.07.2015

Little is known about the London-based producer and DJ who goes by the name of U, but that hasn't quelled praise from bedroom heads, industry tastemakers and big name press alike.
Audio arbiter George FitzGerald originally met U on a holiday in Greece and immediately commissioned a handful of 12's, each brimming with trademark mechanical bliss, like pleasure tinged with menace. U has since gone on to release for Erol Alkan's Phantasy Sounds (both as a solo artist and in collaboration with Babe, Terror as BTU), being given the nod by The Guardian, Mixmag and The Line of Best Fit.

ThIs newest effort, an EP to be released on Technicolour this summer, takes that same flavour and concentrates it. In a past life, U was turned away from a prestigious Berlin club with the words 'this is our place, we decide who comes in.' Spinning this dismissal into the release and leading track titles, U traverses different tempos and sonic swatches: the cavernous thump of techno lament'Our Place,' a hollowed orchestra of bric-a-brac on 'Oma,' the tail-end of euphoria gently glowing on 'Easy Prayer,' and a slow descent into the comedown as 'Arcane Fantasy' fades out. Unlike picky doormen, We Decide Who Comes In ushers you straight through the door.

Alessandro Cortini - Risveglio

Though known as a touring and recording musician associated with Nine Inch Nails, Alessandro Cortini has really come into his own via his Forse trilogy, and his 2014 Hospital Productions debut, Sonno.

For his Hospital follow-up, he maintains the grittiness and intimacy introduced on his
debut, but expands on it, offering a wider spectrum of emotion and depth.

Like Sonno, Risveglio was written and recorded while on tour. The drive to create intimate works during late-night downtime reveal Cortini to be committed to personal vision beyond the call of duty. While Sonno was created using only a 202 and delay, Risveglio adds a TB303, synced to the 202. In his own words, The 303 can be such a haunting instrument used in a certain way, and I felt it completely fit the mood of the previous work I have done on the 202, especially when given a specific location in space....it's such a living instrument.'

The addition of TR606 gives one of the pieces a rhythmic pulse that separates it from the preceding synthscapes and renders Risveglio altogether a more dynamic affair than Sonno.

With Risveglio Cortini emphasizes the imperfections and visceral textures of electronics absent from so much contemporary solo synthesizer music. He carves out a similar space to that formed by Kevin Drumm's releases for the same label in the worlds of Drone and Noise by finding the emotional and, ultimately, human voice within synthesis.

Hupnosaurus - Where Am I Ep

Latest Wicked Bass instalment comes from lost 1990's tapes of an underground Estonian production group, Hupnosaurus. Side A opens with 'Muru', a simple ballad with its stripped kicks and funky string bass that gradually reach a lo-fi acidic house condition with psychedelic swirls appearing every now and then. Bookworms provides a remix treatment with thick, multi-layered overdriven & looped madness that strips the original to a simple bassline and occasional industrial stabs. On side B, 'Always In N' Out' starts out as unorthodox blend of a classic techno kick and speed garage percussion, but after a long building spacey pad breaks into a classic filtered house tune with transposed chords and cut-up vocals that runs until the end of the track. The last title track demonstrates heavy stomping kicks, swinging hats, familiar psychedelic whirls and a trippy, crushed vocal sample appearing out of nowhere questioning 'Where Am I'.

Insolate - Mood Module Ep

We are very happy to start this new edition of Deeply Rooted releases with Insolate 'Mood Module E.P', produced by the very talented Miss Sunshine.
All artists on the new series will work under a new name, new projects and new collaborations. Going back to the roots of techno and house and let the music do the speaking and not the (hyped) names of the producers. Listen with an open mind to these releases approved by the Deeply Rooted (House) label. And as we all know... Dj Deep is a legend with his work as resident dj of the Rex since the very first days, a record collector and music lover extraordinaire, someone who is just like Laurent Garnier on of the key figures in the french house and techno scene for many years. Big up for him daring to choose a different path with his label, always trying to find new inspirations!

The ep goes through different mood and feelings, Epic is a straight up Techno journey, Werk is a great rhythm track that keeps building all the way through!, Parch is a dark and heavy uncompromising track, the record ends with Tuga a deeper and more mysterious jam. We hope you'll like it as much as we do!
Enjoy.

As Soundspecies alongside his brother he was championed by Gilles Peterson's Worldwide show and London institution CDR. The alias 'The Room Below" was coined to coincide with Henry's analogue re-working of close friend Paul White's 'Rapping With' LP. Since then he has maintained this alias for his house and techno composition. They pay homage to the legendary Chicago and Detroit artists that inspired him back in the 80's and 90's.

Delta Funktionen - Wasteland - Chapter I: Goodbye, Galaxy!

Good morning, Commander. Glad you could make it this early. Please take a seat. As you know, your journey towards Wasteland is a mission divided into four stages. To fully understand the gravity of this endeavor you will have to let yourself be assimilated. Mission RAM-X-03 - Goodbye, Galaxy! First, as a crucial part of the assimilation process, we will transfer all our latest data to your DTF-chip. This is not a one way process, so breakdown any inhibitions to ensure no data is lost. The carefully obtained information we are about to upload into your consciousness contains the latest models of your landing position on Wasteland. This data also holds access codes which will allow you to pass the magnetic intersection towards Andromeda. The next step: We will upgrade your nanobiology. Once the data transfer is completed you will be put into stasis. Be warned for possible aftereffects, however: It won't hurt you to dream, so let yourself be submerged. For a more stable wake up, we advise you to take this tab now. Additional information: We'd like to inform you that the weather conditions on Earth have been optimized for a smooth and safe departure. Departure of Delta Craft XX84 is set for 19 hours and 49 minutes from now. Good luck, Commander!

Jeff Derringer - Beat To Quarters,

After collaborating with Droid brothers Raiz back in 2012, Jeff Derringer returns to Electric Deluxe with his first solo effort for the label - a solid two-tracker of rigorous dancefloor material we've come to expect from the Chicago resident. Behind the decks, Jeff Derringer is a name well known as founder and visionary of the renowned Oktave parties in the US. And in recent years he has built up a solid discography to match. An impressive debut on New York-based label Subtrak back in 2010 caused Perc's Ali Wells to sit up and take notice. A trio of Perc Trax releases quickly followed, laying the foundations for Jeff's dark and hypnotic style of techno that has since been picked up by labels M_Rec Recordings and Prosthetic Pressings. Jeff's last work with Raiz for EDLX, 'Deception EP', was merciless, robust and went straight in for the kill. And his solo effort, 'Beat to Quarters', is no different. Title track opens with spitting hats and chugging intent before space-blips, ticks and typical Derringer-charged atmospherics storm in. EDLX mainstay Giorgio Gigli then ups the ante on his 'Variation' with swirling foreboding strings and muted mutant clicks, turning 'Beat To Quarters' into a menacing 8 minute-long epic. Then on the flip, Jeff goes in weirder with 'The Stranger". Full of itchy claps, crashes and deep space tones there's plenty here to keep you busy. The EP concludes with a cool and creeping remix from Voices From the Lake - their first outing on the label. Voices From the Lake is of course Donato Dozzy and Neel's much-celebrated experimental project.

Lunar Lodge are Luciano Lamanna, Filippo Scorcucchi and Filippo Terragni, hailing from the darkest corners of Rome. Together they deliver through Lux Rec a three tracks EP of dark analog music.
Menacing whispers telling the archaic Roman tale of betrayal and killing. Of decay and far off melodies. The main track that gives the title to the EP is an hypnotic adventure in noise. A journey into techno of the deepest shade. Signs, with its tense rhythm, is infused with frightening accents and voices. Finally, Event Horizon, closes the EP looking in the distance, the unknown, the death and the sorrows, and infinite solitude.

03.09.2014

2014 had a flying start with Radial's 2nd album and the first release of his new imprint Radial Records. 'Crux' received massive support from the public, dj's and press, and now we present you a package of gorgeous remixes by some of the strongest players in techno music today, combined with fine remix work by some highly talented producers from Holland.

First up is Anton Pieete who has just released a very strong 2x12inch on Rejected. He brings us back to the basics of 'Karplus' with a stripped-back but heavy approach with only one thing in mind: the dance floor. Patrik Skoog needs no introduction of course and his funky but chunky mix of 'Fifth Wheel' will leave no one sitting still, Patrik at his best!

On the flip side it's Darko Esser a.k.a. Tripeo taking control. He has delivered two amazing remixes both under his Tripeo alias and his own name. Enriching the original tracks with some signature leads.
Three digital-only bonus remixes finish off this release in style. Some lesser known names but the results are all the more interesting. Shadowboxer who also forms 'Sinecure' together with Radial brings us a bass heavy remix with noisy stabs and metallic hats. Colophon chooses a more trippy approach all built on the warmth of an organic and evolving bass line. Finally we welcome back an old friend and former member of Radial: Boyconstrictor with his fast-paced version of 'Tipsy'.

Early support: Speedy J, Chris Liebing, Rodhad, Jonas Kopp, Gregor Tresher, Developer, Joel Mull and more

The Lone Roamer - Through The War Ruins - Hand Numbered

The Lone Roamer is the experimental and deep side of Riccardo D'Agostini, inspired by a dystopian world in which almost all the life forms are dead after an unspecified event. Wandering alone through that devastated world is not just a physical act, it is a real personal and deep journey.

Riccardo freely expressed his feelings in this release, without being affected by definite genres. It follows that the original tracks are a mix of techno and progressive, ambient and drones, hard kicks and pads... Area Forty_One and Sonitus Eco complete this release, with their own interpretation of loneliness and desolation. These awesome remixes fit perfectly the mood of The Lone Roamer, strengthening that feelings.

Riccardo started this project like an experimental alias more than one year ago and these tracks are the first of the series. The decision to print them despite the growth of the project in this year comes exactly from the experimental and mutable nature of the project itself: in the following months you will listen to more recent productions, but now, The Lone Roamer wants to present himself from the beginning.

To complete the project introduction, a limited edition featuring a cassette will be released on the label Bandcamp store. It will include an exclusive track you won't find somewhere else.

The EP starts with a repetitive dark chord monster called "Shift" that will set some floors on fire for sure. And if that wasn't enough the hauling percussions and eerie sounds in "Long Rang" will push you over the edge.
On The B-side you all can calm down a little bit with the great deep "Fast Forward" and the even more relaxed remix by Leghau on B2.

Funkstörung - Funkstörung (2lp+mp3/triple Gatefold)

'Funkstörung' is Funkstörung's 4th longplayer. After a ten years break this album comes along like a twisted Janus' head on a perfectly toned body. It's everything you've expected from glitch hop's inventors and everything you have not. For those eagerly awaiting the moment Funkstörung would come around the corner with a new innovation of electronic music, just like they did with their first record: This time they did not. Instead they do what they do best and take up the path they started to carve with 'Disconnected': Luscious pop songs with heavy backbones, illustrious guests adding heartfelt vocals to a bed of fizzing basslines. It is a very vocal album - there are guest singers on nearly every song on the record - but they do not domineer the sound of it. They all
just contribute to a fresh version of Funkstörung that has ripened a bit and got seasoned with a hell lot of flavour.

Some of the voices on 'Funkstörung' have been part of the family for a while, some of them, like Jamie Lidell, are new collaborators. But wether with old friends or newfound partners all of the 14 songs on the album get to the heart of electronic pop. As a whole, the record seems so well balanced it's ready to be an instant classic. Each of the songs transports a timeless quality of content sunny vibes which would go as well with a very expensive wine in front of a fireplace, as with a plastic cup of beer and rubber boots at a muddy festival. Instead of concentrating on glitches and breaks the effort of the two producers has gone into growing every sound into perfection, one can feel that no time pressure fixated a detail onto the wrong place. Like the duo say, the record
is 'evolution not revolution'. The album comes in a beautiful sleeve design by lauded graphic artists Zeitguised and Sebastian Onufszak.

All of the tracks on 'Funkstörung' have a magnetic quality but still some of the tracks stick out like the free DL 'Laid Out' feat Anothr coming with a hookline so big even your granny you won't get it out of her head for a week. Or 'So simple' the collaborative effort with Jamie Lidell whose smooth soul crooning fits the chrome glistening hip hop beat like a velvet glove.

John Heckle - Wet Noises, Tapirus Rmx

Hot on the tail of two prior releases by Tapirus aka Rotterdam's own Charlton, the MNSX series presents its 3rd instalment with none other than yung John Heckle from Merseyside, UK with a remix by Tapirus. Three incredible tracks from John Heckle make up this blistering hyperactive EP. Raw, acidy landscapes and analog drum programming are the trademarks of this artist and he displays his mastery in full force. Together with Tapirus, the result is a meeting of minds; an energetically harmonious release in similar spirit. The title track 'Wet Noises' takes us full throttle into Heckle's domain. Upfront drumming, acid bassline and soaring synths mix and melt in a dancing cosmic soup. Tinkling notes add signposts throughout the oceanic chaos, before the song reaches its ultimate arrival on shore. 'Alpha Deux''s beginning and deceptive ambient soundscape unfolds deliciously, evolving organically into a full blown Chicago acid workout. Let it reverse and play on for a secret easter egg ending! On the B-side, Tapirus takes 'Wet Noises' to his territory on just as rough terrain. An acid bounce start slowly snakes its way into higher Asiatic ground with a hand of the mystical. Less of a remix in the traditional sense but an equally honourable version. A special treat is reserved for last. B2's 'Frozen Planet' is an evocative piece anchored by a broken beat and deep bassline. Brought alive by helter-skelter notes and wrapped up in soaring, mountain-high synth lines, it is a bright asteroid in the galaxy of John Heckle's discography for us.

Flip the disc for "Over" and the tension starts to build before the release climaxes with "Flos" a speaker shaking dub work-out of the highest order. With collaborations with Steve O'Sullivan on Mosiac plus Pluie/Noir appearances approaching, it's clear Kashawar is a special young talent!

Post Scriptum - Post Scriptum 01

Infrastructure introduce a new artist to the roster, with a brand new talent known only as Post Scriptum. 'Post Scriptum 01' is the debut full length album from the anonymous producer.
Post Scriptum stands for rich, highly detailed modern Techno Electronics. References to Mills-School bleep and unearthly, sci-fi tones are clear to hear. The album features original photographs by Swiss mixed-media artist Julian Charrière, taken on site at a former Soviet nuclear testing ground. The negatives were first exposed through the camera, and then laid on the radioactive earth where interference occurred, resulting in the highly textured end images.
Quickly following the first ever Post Scriptum track to be released, 'Human Timescales' featured on 'Berghain 07 - Part I' (Ostgut Ton 86), this stunning full length thoroughly outlines the sonic intentions of the project over 11 other-worldy tracks.
Infrastructure founder Function has mixed 'Berghain 07', the latest in the series of DJ mixes by the Berlin club's residents, due for release May 18th. Accompanying the mix are two 12''s, where Post Scriptum's 'Human Timescales' features alongside tracks from Cassegrain & Tin Man, Inland, DVS1, Steve Bicknell, Blue Hour and Luke Slater's L.B. Dub Corp alias. The in-depth A&R process Function went through for the Berghain 07 project led to the signing of the development of this LP. The debut live show from Post Scriptum will be at Berghain during the '07' release party in May.
Parallels to the process can be drawn throughout 'Post Scriptum 01', where classic Techno sound sources are clear to hear, however complex processing and a very original approach to arrangement flavours and colours each track. With titles like 'Interstellar Medium', 'Decelerate At The Destination' or 'The Extreme Distance', clear Space - Time themes emerge, evoking imagery of the ongoing Human quest for survival, on this world, and eventually others.
The vinyl version of Post Scriptum 01 is structured with DJs in mind 8, with club-leaning tracks spanning 4 sides. On the CD version a further 3 titles can be found, with the tracklist arranged as Post Scriptum originally intended for listening in one session.

Sunil Sharpe - Cadya

Sunil Sharpe

Cadya

12inchTR045
Trensmat
08.12.2014

Sunil Sharpe is Ireland's chief ambassador for the nastier side of techno, sonically on a sharp upward (downward) trajectory since the actual '90s and frequently mentioned in the same sentences, promotional material, and internet blog postings as words like "surgeon", "truss", "karenn" plus other assorted terms that mean a great deal to those in the know.

But we're not here to make comparisions or hang on coat tails, let's deal with what we've got - in this case it is four great slabs of bastard-heavy marching equipment.

Opening shot 'Jamm 1' has that unfortunate slash awesome quality that only the most paranoid and unhinged 4/4 machine music can possess. "Where am I Can they hear this too Have I gone too far" If you answer "I don't know" to all three questions, chances are you are listening to this track at 4am in some lawless dystopian bunker and some serious life-choice reappraisal will have to be made when/if you wake up the following day. Truly wild atonal pulsing-turns-to-screaming over a frankly sadistic 6 minutes plus change that remains at various peak levels of intensity for the duration.

Next up 'Eyebrow' stubbornly ignores the incessant warning signal buzzing away from the console throughout. Though as the smoke rises and sparks start to fly it would be best practise to get the hell out of there and leave the machines to themselves - the hot swelling improv of melting circuits, knobs, and LEDs is worth sticking around for, whatever the risk. At about the 4:30 mark it finally starts to deteriorate irreversibly; the studio is a bubbling, malfunctioning mess - the warning signal gurgles to a halt and the rhythm box shorts out.

Needless to say, B opener 'Stitches' will not have you in stitches of the jolly sort - think instead along surgical lines. Razor sharp hats cut to the bone of an already strangled acid line, while just below the slashing some nameless aquatic monstrosity babbles orders at you in an unrecognisable tongue. Bit of a 'mare really.

For a closer, thankfully in 'Late Drift' we get the nearest thing to a breather you're going to get on this EP. The fear is constant but no jump scares, just a sinister wavering signal bobbing up to the surface every so often while almost imperceptible raspy biomechanical breathing is kept at bay behind the barbed top end percussion.

Not addressed in any of the above but worth mentioning before signing off - each of the above abominations contain enough deep kicking electrified thumps to successfully defibrillate the 2 day old carcass of a beached whale.

DJ support from: Ben Sims, Blawan, Truss, Norman Nodge, AnD, Lakker, Rebekah, Clouds, Randomer, Bas Mooy, J. Tijn, Svreca, Manni Dee, Mr Jones, Marcel Heese, Ontal, Minimum Syndicat, Dave Tarrida, Lag, Tomohiko Sagae, Bleaching Agent, Martyn Hare, ANFS, Mike Darkfloor

Each EP will see the artist work closely with Perc Trax's resident designer Jonny Costello to create a visual identity for their release that perfectly matches their music. A step away from easy and repetitive label branding, every EP will look different, sound different and give the greatest insight into each producer's artistic outlook so far.

Across these three tracks Truss moves from sweeping melodic experiments to a new deeper take on his trademark acid sound. Title track 'Kymin Lea' has already been previewed on Surgeon's Rinse FM show and has been in demand since, whilst B-side cuts 'Clawdd Du' and 'Wyefield' push the Truss sound outwards into new territory.

Bokeh - Peace Obscured

After various releases on Weevil Neighbourhood, two of the label's key figures, Anthone, who made a first appearance in 2012 with the "Aloof" EP and "Double Dub/ Clear View" as well as "Breath/Lungs" in 2014 and Katsunori Sawa, who debuted with the "LR" EP in 2011 together with Yuji Kondo as Steven Porter and later released "The Two Legs" (2013) as well as "Holy Ground" (2014) as a solo artist, team up as BOKEH for their first collaborative outing dubbed "Peace Obscured".

The release comes as a 12" EP combining both artists' trademark musical vocab - industrial dub and noise influenced techno - resulting in a three tracker of relentlessly driving bottom end rave. Black vinyl, 500 copies only, artwork by Lee Noble (No Kings Records/ Bathetic).

Low Jack - Sewing Machine

3

Paris imprint In Paradisum describe Sewing Machine, the second full-length from sometime L.I.E.S man Low Jack, as "brutal, stupid and wicked". It's certainly brutal, fusing distorted techno rhythms and bleak industrial textures with droning electronics and blasts of clandestine white noise. Few people do this kind of post apocalyptic, balls-out intensity better than Low Jack, and there's a certain amount of funk within the titanium-clad rhythms and concrete-laden modular synths. Of course, it's hardly cheery, but then Low Jack doesn't do "fun" in the traditional sense. Sewing Machine is full of thrills for those of an industrial persuasion, though.

Scan 7 - Black Moon Rising / You Have The Right

A timely reissue of Scan 7's finest moment and a proper Rubadub classic - 'Black Moon Rising'. This was originally the lead track on their first twelve for Underground Resistance (http://www.discogs.com/Scan-7-Black-Moon-Rising/release/4153). Still sounds fresh today and will move heads and feet for years to come.
On the flip is 'You Have The Right' which originally came out on Elypsia in 2001. A proper rabble rouser that comes with remixes from Jay Denham and the sadly departed and much missed Detroit legend - Aaaron-Carl

And - And Rmx 02 (justin K Broadrick / Black Rain)

On 'Cosmic Microwave Background' AnD put their full scope to work. The result was a record that fidgeted restlessly between a bleeding dancefloor and more airy machinist musings. But even suspended somewhere deep in the voids of space, the duo's industrial insignia was never too far away. To remix the record, then, it made sense to honour it's foundations with a carefully curated cast gathered from techno's outer rim.

Released as a two-part EP, the album's eerie, soothing closer gets picked up by Speedy J and Lucy as Zeitgeber and Black Rain who turn in polar re-workings of 'The Surface Of Last Scattering'. The monstrous
'Galactic Motion' also gets treated to a Black Rain overhaul, true to the group's seminal post industrial and punk lineage.

Sleeparchive and O/H—the union of David Foster of Huren and Teste, and Orphx's Richard Oddie—both plump for 'Power Spectrum', one of AnD's typical sledgehammer works. The original near pales in comparison to what the pair deliver here. Finally the multifaceted Justin Broadrick of Godflesh, Techno Animal, Pale Sketcher and more turns his heavyweight JK Flesh alias on 'Non Sky Signal Noise' with ruinous effect. If you thought AnD could't get any harder, think again.

Locked Groove - Enigma (incl. Scuba Remix)

Locked Groove marks his return to Hotflush with the grandiose, puzzlingly-titled "Enigma". It's a colossal record whose bass-centric melody looms large. Large enough, even, to inspire what is nowadays a rare Scuba remix.

A counterpoint to these theatrics comes in the way of 'Wandering In A Cage', a broken-beat creeper flaunting the Belgian's ear for subtlety, and two beatdown versions of the title track that fit neatly into your DJ toolbox.

Voidloss - A Life Of Dissent EP 2x12"

This EP was made during a period where my whole outlook on everything was transforming. The Voidloss project started as an investigation, I was conducting a lot of research and study on the mind, the occult, on different thought modes, and the Voidloss project represented this. The idea was about a leap in to the void. A leap of abandonment into the dark, with total acceptance, total commitment. The idea was to lose myself to the void. This was mainly a spiritual journey for me, and could be best explained by 3 things, the void of Miyamoto Musashi from Go Rin No Sho, The concept of the Tao from the writings of Lao Tzu, and the concept of the abyss from the works of Aleister Crowley. Part of this journey deep inside the self was frightening and horrific, the total loss of self, of all identity and ego, and part of it was beautiful and enlightening. I wanted the music to reflect this, and I wanted the music to change as I changed, as I went to and through all these interesting places. In essence this was about freedom. So fast forward some years and I felt I had sharpened my mind quite effectively, the music had twisted and changed and flowed with me. At the point I began making the music for this EP, I had grown quite angry with the amount of conformity I was perceiving in life. Politically, socially, musically, there was this drive of conformity in the world. I think part of it, and only a part, comes from the prevalence of social media, the need to belong and to be liked, the idea of judging yourself and your works through the perception of others. Musically I felt that within techno there was a tendency for the music to fit within a set of confines dictated by fashion and hype, and this was reducing the diversity of the music, it seemed also that the practices of commercial music were seeping in to techno as the music became more popular. Hype and business driven decisions, brand building and so on. I always felt techno was more about art, and I began to get frustrated. Equally I felt that politically there was less and less choice, as all decisions seemed to lead to the same outcomes. I became more interested in the concept of anarchism, of the idea that government was no longer needed. I have always in my life had a drive to question everything. I've always been 'naughty' and rebellious and done things my way, to my advantage or my disadvantage, I could never accept being anything other than myself all the way. If everyone walks in one direction, I will walk the other way, even if it takes me over the edge of a precipice, just to see what is there. All this stuff influences my music, and during the period of making this EP I was angry, kicking against the things I no longer liked or wanted, screaming dissent. There is a lot of anger and rage, and of course rebellion. I wanted the music to capture that unbridled fury you have when you are in your late teens, when you just start learning about yourself and you start rebelling and questioning things around the time the world is really pushing you to conform. I was soundtracking my own philosophical riot. Previous to this my Voidloss stuff had been more introverted, more pensive and melancholy, more self destructive, more cerebral. For this new music I wanted something more immediate but without being too obvious. In terms of the choices I made I still leaned more towards broken rhythms for beat structure. I find it very difficult to do anything interesting with 4x4 kicks any more, it's too rigid for me, it limits my freedom. I like the looseness you get from more 'drummer' like beats, I guess probably because I have been playing drums all my life. The challenge is to get the same rolling power from broken rhythms as you get from 4 to the floor. It's not easy, there is a ridiculous amount of trial and error and the rejection percentage is high. I also was trying to use less 'synthy' sounds. I wanted to try to take a more acousmatic approach to sound design. With the current modular synth revival in techno I was hearing a lot of 'old' synth sounds re-emerging, and this didn't seem like a progression to me. I wanted to make sounds that were hard to source for the listener, where they weren't sure if it was synth or real world sample, digital or analogue. This involved a lot of experimentation. My process involved a lot of field recording, especially with contact microphones, which open up a whole new world of interesting sounds. You are effectively recording sounds through objects in the environment, 'hearing' the world as these objects hear them, I was using guitars, feedback loops, handmade instruments as well. So I was combining this with different synthesis, granular synthesis, sample synthesis, physical modelling, FM synthesis and of course analogue. Everything was reprocessed and re-synthesised, I tried hard to obscure the source and make something new as much as possible. The stuff on this EP was part of my live PA for some time, so as I learned how the music worked live I could go back and make changes, sometimes the environment I was playing in transformed the sound as well, and so I would try to go back an incorporate this in to the music. For remixes I wanted to choose artists that I respected for their vision as well as for their output, so my list of people I wanted was extremely short. Inigo Kennedy has always been an artist I have respected greatly. His music has always been unique to himself, he remains outside of fashions and trends even though his name has become very big recently. He takes risks with his work, experimenting and exploring, yet remaining relevant to the club, and just tirelessly forging ahead, seemingly for the sake of art above all else. And he's just a really nice guy to deal with. His remix is everything I expected it to be in that it is the unexpected. Regis is another artist who forges his own path in music, you cant really even begin to discuss the avantgarde in techno without including his name, he is one of the foundation stones for artistry and the outsider mentality in techno. His music is always unique to his own vision, and along with it comes an interesting artistic philosophy taking in situationism, post punk and industrial ideology and a good dose of tricksterism ala PT Barnum, all of which comes out in his music and the way it is presented. The man is a truly singular force and it is an honour to have him on this record. Overall the concept here is that of rebellion and dissent. Of asking questions, following your own path, of maintaining some place in yourself that burns like a forest fire.

Whether or not I have succeeded I guess is down to the listener, I'm never happy with my music, I keep wanting to move forwards, or somewhere else, and am constantly trying and failing to capture some essence of perfection. But like Bukowski said
'It's the only good fight there is'

Exigent Ep

12inchWOLF025
Wolfskuil
21.02.2013

We always had a weak spot for upcoming talent. It's one of the most interesting phases in an artist' career. A bright future in the making is exciting to see develop before your very eyes It's a period where everything is still possible, open and giant steps are easily made.

Doka is such a talent. Hailing from beautiful Heerlen and now residing in Amsterdam, his demo's caused quite the stir in Wolfskuil HQ. Doka's uncomprimising, relentless techno productions have been extensively roadtested, leaving dancefloors in shatters. So it's due time for his first vinyl release. The main track Exigent is the most subtle one of the package. But don't be fooled be it's deceiving friendliness. This is peaktime techno at it's best: big breakdowns and climaxes, timed perfectly for maximum effect.
And the flipside it gets bigger, fatter and nastier. Ximul reminds of old 90's Speedy J releases on Nova Mute (remember the Collabs series) with it's gruesome, acidic bassline and clever industrial sounddesign. Kahn is made of the same cloth, but takes it more on the hypnotic tip. And this is just the beginning of a promising career, one to watch.

Mark Broom :

A truly prolific artist, Mark has a myriad of production credits to his name having worked with world renowned labels and artists for decades. It all started in the Summer of 89 when Mark landed in Tenerife on vacation and stumbled across the delights of the emerging sounds of Chicago and Acid House. Returning to the UK, he immediately went in search of this new found music - a pair of turntables bought, and with them a musical career was born.

James Ruskin :

Techno Gipsy
26.06.2013

The word "techno" has had many different connotations to date. For some — it's a simple rhythm pattern created on a drum machine, for others — a beautiful legend from Detroit. Furthermore to some this is the future, while others perceive it only as the past. For the new Moscow-based label "Techno Gipsy" it is an uncanny amalgamation of all these feelings and emotions, which can only accommodate such a big word with only five letters.

"Techno Gipsy" as a record label is a logical extension of the ideology of the party series that goes by the very same name! Techno Gipsy the label will stick to a clear (and at the same time very diverse) line in its releases: techno, techno and only techno music. From the sound of modern Berlin, dutifully sticking to the roots of the genre with true techno stoicism to the genre defining anthems of the past, present and future!

Russia's newest outpost of the true techno sound starts life with the debut release of the Russian producer Deflecting. It's raw, introverted techno, which draws its inspiration from the retro-futurism of Detroit, Berlin and the sincerity of the Swedish techno grooves. If feels as if the music compels to be played on vinyl in large dark halls. The label plans to break through and feature many talented local artists with remix support from established international producers and musicians, however the focus won't lie solely in the Motherland.

Deflecting's original productions on this EP relay a perfect balance between melody, fat bottom and tart flavor of proper techno music. Remixes by Unbalance and Roman Lindau underline and reinforce this feeling, with the first interpretation focused on giving the track a funky groove and a more assertive direction, while the second remix emphasizes the powerful bass, penetrating even into the farthest corners of the dance floor. This releases masterfully incorporates several eras in techno music, as the Techno Gipsy label stretches its muscles and shows big ideas and even bigger intentions for the future!

When Nicolas Duvoisin began to discover Techno for himself at the age
of 16, probably no one thought that he would now be playing at all the
major venues in Switzerland. And also on an international level he gains
more and more attention. No wonder, since the new EP 'Africa Friends'
already makes for lively sensation.
'Africa Friends' is a tribal-inspired Tech-House track with a lot of driving
elements. The remix of Yapacc however is rather a remixer typical
interpretation somewhere between funky Minimal and melodic Techno.
Another centerpiece of this EP is the remix of Quenum, who founded the
imprint 'Cadenza' along with Luciano a few years ago. As a small gimmick
Nicolas Duvoisin serves an additional groovy track called 'People Dance'.
Nicolas himself is not only a DJ and producer, but also runs his own label
'Fantastic Friends Recordings'. But Circle Music had the opportunity to
sign 'Africa Friends' and is pleased to present this EP to the world now.

Our inaugural release, entitled Words for Silence, will be unleashed at our debut Chronicle showcase on March 29th at Berghain. As our way of giving thanks to our supporters the first 10 copies will be passed out in secrecy to attendants looming in the shaded corners of the club. Words for Silence features two driving tracks from Aiken and the illusive Ben Gibson - two producers that have both crafted powerful EPs for us and will be gracing the decks that evening along with Nick Dunton (65 D Mavericks), Boris, Oliver Deutschmann and
Mike Dehnert among others. We could not be more honored to
host this night, and look forward to unveiling more releases of this caliber for other special events/turning points. So watch out below...
Aiken's 'Singularity' has a groove that beeps like a time bomb waiting to explode, washing over you with its sinful drones - while Gibson's track 'Parallax' takes things a bit deeper with pastoral pads and fluttering hi-hats. Together they create a balance of rhythm and energy that will be well suited for a number of unique moments while in the chamber

Airhead - Believe

21.07.2014

1-800 Dinosaur and Airhead announce a new 4 track EP 'Believe' released July 2014.

Airhead, (aka Rob McAndrews) a resident, founding member and spiritual ocelot of the 1-800 Dinosaur crew, will be releasing a four track EP 'Believe', the first of a series of releases from Dan Foat's emerging artist collective.

This Believe EP is a turning point for Airhead; equivalent to the moment in the film 'Witness' when Harrison Ford, as John Book, realises that the hitmen (witnessed by the Amish kid in the toilets) are actually policemen. The inward has been exchanged for the outward. Where Airhead's critically acclaimed debut album 'For Years' was all about tip-toeing barefoot into thick carpeted darkened rooms, this new EP, inspired by two years of 1-800 DINOSAUR parties, is all about the boom-boom oscillation and hands-in-the-air machine gun parties. The controls are set straight for the heart of the dancefloor where Rob has erected a Buffalo hide tipi and intends to live for the next 7 months.

The lead track 'Believe' has already caused a stir on the 1-800 DINOSAUR affiliated BBC R1 show, reminiscent of a suddenly conscious anthropomorphic car alarm hurtling down a water slide with Leroy Burrell on Gary's. Both 'Shirin' and the Coki summoning 'Shekure' evolve out of the London-centric vapour trails of Grime and UK Garage, unsurprisingly causing the most damage at the 1-800 residency at Plastic People. The eery atmospherics of Hundred Years built around nascent chords and a vocal sample round off the EP perfectly.

R&S Records
02.09.2013

R&S is delighted to welcome Alex Smoke into the fold with his transfixing new single 'Dust'.
One of the most accomplished and forward thinking artists in electronic music, Alex Smoke can always be replied upon to push the boundaries, and 'Dust' is no exception, combining his exquisite synth chords with cavernous dubbed out drum programming and his heartfelt, mesmeric vocals.
On the flip 'Ruction (Dub)' is a swirling and atmospheric reimagining of the Detroit blueprint for what techno can be - preserving all the emotion and melancholia yet with futuristic schizoid drum patterns and mumbled lyrics that come on like classic era Karl Hyde of Underworld on cough syup.
On remix duties is fellow R&S signee Tessela - one of the brightest new talents to emerge of late, he's been catching the ears of all and sundry with his amen-bothering future-rave hybrids. His mix of 'Dust' should set pulses racing for his EP for R&S later this year. Combining his trademark sound of blistering 808 kicks and tumbling breaks, with dark junglist sirens, it's an apocalyptic, brutal reimagining of Smoke's classy original.

After insane releases for All Caps and Nord, Guy is now ready to release his most varied selection to date. On 'Basf Ferro' the genius Welshman moves from dark haunting ambient on 'White Tape Trk 1' over floating electronica on 'Basf Ferro Trk 3' and 'Computape Trk 2' to dynamic earthquake techno on 'Cds 90 X3r Trk 4'. All four tracks was recorded in the early 90's. Until now they've been living a quiet life in Guy's huge archive, but a great maste- ring session by Rashad Becker got rid of the last dust.
"Basf Ferro" is released in an edition of 240 copies on black 12' vinyl. It is housed in PVC and paper with hand screened prints by Kasper Lynge Jensen

Frozen Stomp

Power Vacuum
20.09.2013

Reacquainted with his soul after the galactic battle with the gatekeeper of Hades, Edmx and his craft bulb into view from hyperdrive..

Emerging from an imperfect stasis, the pilot lay slumped over the controls of his ship. Beneath the glaze of his vizor his eyes looked milky white, opaque cataracts had almost sealed them. The craft was being pulled slowly toward Sigma Orionis on invisible magnetic currents. Flurries of dust danced around the pilots window like fireflies. In the far distance the horse head nebulae dwarfs the tiny craft with it's mountainous cosmic majesty. Intergalactic myth being of the ages, guiding this stellar traveller to his doom. The incandescent solar whorls start to coruscate before his eyes and form twisted images from his fractured subconscious. Grotesque parodies of half-humans beckon him towards an astral dance floor made of finely spun crystalline glass - insane visions threatening his mission. Reaching forward to the control panel, captain Dmx flips the cover on the button marked 'SUB ATOMIC PILE DRIVER - USE WITH EXTREME CAUTION' and pushes down hard, blowing the solar hallucinations into the outer reaches of the galaxy with a sonar burst of such technoidal intensity, the tremors will eventually be felt back on Earth. The vessel continues on its way, cabin speakers ringing to the perpetual lock groove caused by the blast, like a thousand galaxies being simultaneously shredded. The captain slams his foot; jets blow orange and red setting the ship back on its course. As it pulls into the distance a set of giant celestial eyes appear to be watching it from behind a corner of the nebulae...

Early support: Surgeon, Perc, Objekt, Icicle, Cosmin TRG, Cosmo Vitelli, Pangaea, Kriz (Token recs), Kowton, Distal...

Simian Mobile Disco - Tong Zi Dan (incl. Mike Dehnert Remix)

Simian Mobile disco are back with more of the world's only techno tasting menu, serving up a a brand new platter for your delectation:

Tong Zi Dan are the Chinese delicacy usually translated as 'virgin boy eggs'. Like the tea stained eggs you'll find in your ramen, these are eggs cracked part way through the boiling process, to let the flavours of the liquid seep through.

All though in the case of Tong Zi Dan, the liquid is the urine of prepubescent boys. Very
much like that urine, the burbling pads and uric submerged melodies permeate the cracked surface of the smooth ovoid outer casing of rhythm.

On the flip side, Mike Denhert delivers his own take on the virgin boy egg phenomena

Various - The Furnaces Series Part One

The Furnace Series is a two-part compilation of music inspired by a special room in the Montréal apartment shared by Booma Collective from 2012-2014. When venues to throw parties became scarce, Booma used this room leading to the fire escape in the back of the apartment - known as The Furnace - as a space for small gatherings among close friends. The Furnace Series is a collection of memories of those intimate parties and impromptu jam sessions.
Part one features four tracks by Booma Collective founders and friends, beginning with 'Psyche' - a hypnotic, dub-techno inspired composition with oscillating, piercing sounds, evoking whistling flurries. Solpara's 'Garden in the Furnace' echoes the hollowed-out concrete architecture of The Furnace itself, filling up then emptying its atmosphere with layered drum machines and ghostly voices. 'CF01 is the result of feedback experimentation carefully arranged into a slow tribal jam.. Oren Ratowsky. producer of Booma Collective's first vinyl release, rounds off the B side with 'Gorby', an eleven and a half minute exploration of his mastery of analog synthesizers.
