A more accomplished sound than his previous LP, it will certainly reward repeated listening. From the tribal sounds of Ripples Through Ice to the proto hardcore sound of Tape Grunge Rave through his signature Tape Throb sound of Daisy Spirals before rounding it out with the uplifting vibes of the title track- Flourish, its Lo-fi but not cheap, D.I.Y but not primitive, dance-y but not club-y, 4-4 but not straight.

Its unconventional unmixability makes us delighted to release this record which may fit into a lot of genres but doesn't fully belong in any.

nofitstate return with four tracks from hot talent A1 Bassline whose reputation has been building of late from a succession of releases for the likes of Dirtybird, Get Physical and Gruuv amongst others. Here 'Hidden Agenda' finds the young producer in true devastating form; skippy percussion, a nod to the UK's garage scene, vibes the track along nicely whilst the bass does the damage. 'Burnt Out Piano Island' delves deeper, acting as a neat counterpoint to the more main room 'Agenda'. Here the style is much more nuanced with a more hypnotic leaning. 'Outsider' picks up the pace against, albeit in a subtle, uplifting vibe with warped pianos and razor sharp percussion. 'T Moe P' rounds things off nicely with a moody bassline driven groove.

The excellent Cinematic label charges into 2014 with a meaty new Various ArtistEP that features tracks by label head Soy Mustafa, acid man Jared Wilson, dub specialist XDB and relative newcomer City 2 City.

Both Soy and City 2 City have previously appeared on a vinyl only sub label of Chez Damier's Balance Recordings with essential house offerings and come up with the goods once again here. New Detroit hero Jared Wilson, meanwhile, has been making waves with his searing acid techno on labels like Skudge and Grecian XDB has long been a champion of deep, droning dub on labels like Echochord and Sistrum.

Up first is the label head's 'Delphic Times'. The track is beautifully deep and
spacious, meaning the subtle melodies have plenty of room in which to float
about as slinky percussive lines undulate above bottomless drums. It's a clean, atmospheric track that packs a seriously emotional punch before XDB's 'Violi' comes over as a much more edgy and busy affair. Rooted in dark dubby chambers, impish little synth lines dart about like fire flies in the night and drag your attention with them. Purposeful but poised, it's another serene and sublime concoction from one of the day's most revered producers.
On the flip, City 2 City aka gets extremely atmospheric on his sci-fi tinged and cosmically inclined deep house vision, 'Way of Life'.

Lush synths variously lash about like sheets of metal, but also get smeared across the whole face of the track as techno leaning percussion scurries along below. It's moody, Detroit referencing stuff that brings classic Planet E material to mind before the EP is closed down in face melting, dancefloor destroying style by Jared Wilson. His rasping, frantic acid cut is a bristling brew of analogue lines, itchy hi hats and gurgling synths that will arrest the attention of any dancefloor.

This stunning EP is an essential offering for fans of genuinely raw and emotive house music that showcases four very real talents at their absolute best.

Marcus Mumm aka Das Muster returns to SolarOneMusic with the Reaktionszeit EP, the last part of the "Elektronische Werke" series. the label say" When it comes to new music from Ulysses, you never know what you're going to get. His career has spanned genres from Techno and House to Experimental and Disco, with every release delivering an exciting musical surprise.

An essential pioneer of the late-'90s electro scene in New York, Ulysses threw some of the earliest large-scale electro parties with legends such as Alexander Robotnick and Arthur Baker, as well as stars like I-f, Adult, and Miss Kitten and the Hacker. Over the span of his eclectic discography, this Brooklyn-based DJ and music producer
has collaborated with Thugfucker's Holmar Filipsson as Filipsson & Ulysses as well as with John Selway in the prolific Neurotic Drum Band.

His release schedule has slowed a bit in the past few years as he's raised a family, but a visit to his basement studio to check out his archive of unreleased tracks proved that he has been very busy producing new work. These three tacks are our favorites of the bunch. This is fantastic music that speaks for itself, but Ulysses submitted three questions for this one sheet:

Celldöd is the solo project of Anders Karlsson, well known in the EBM scene for his involvement in the band The Pain Machinery and as a live member of Severe Illusion. Celldöd strips EBM down to it's core, eliminating vocals and any superfluous details. Celldöd offers a raw, minimal, and purist vision of EBM; hardware tracks recorded live to tape using just a handful of machines. Celldöd's bare bones dance cuts are dirty and primitive, but manage to steer clear of retro trappings, sounding fresh and contemporary.

Sev Dah makes his debut on Komisch with three unique club tracks. The mysterious producer has been making waves with releases on Naked Index and Gynoid, but he has reserved his most individualistic music for Komisch.
Lead track 'Otit' revolves around a surging, powerful bass and subtle metallic percussion. It's a prelude for a doomy synth line that gives the track an intangibly eerie feeling.
On the flip, 'Disciple' is led by heavy claps and a more stepping rhythm, but the lunging bass and eerie synths ensure that it'll have maximum impact in a club.
'Tension' also travels a less obvious route thanks to its offbeat rhythm. But its beats are stomping and the dark, churning filter, coupled with Sev Dah's haunting synths, means it's getting support acoss the board.

erk Offset played this track live at a party. The clattering sounds got to my ears and I remembered some parties in the past when I was in a dark club...only walls of concrete, pipes, rusty iron and steel. So I wanted to keep this associations caught on a 12'. This track brings you the power and tension of industry noises and sounds shaped and bend into a straight beat, just pure machine music. Phil Kieran´s remix is the clean industry hydraulic version with an up-building tension and massive punchy bass drums in a more modern computer controlled robot system instead of a steam pressured, oiled and greased gear wheels using machine like in Berk´s original version. But both tracks will put you under pressure in their own special way!

Reflect and Rationalisations with Giorgio Gigli. After a decade of releasing on labels like Mental Groove, Dumb Unit and Prologue—outside his co-owned and well-fashioned Zooloft stable, as a producer Giorgio Gigli has long hit his stride. Since emerging on Rome-based Elettronica Romana, Gigli has honed a distinctly dark take on trippy, dystopic-tinged techno—especially so with partner Obtane. Together they have built Zooloft into an insightful and admired go-to for intelligent, progressive music, as rewarding on the club floor as in listening contexts. In 2011 Gigli made his EDLX debut as Endless, a collaboration between himself and Perc, which saw their solo sound qualities of hypnotic rhythms and abrasive beats navigated to new heights over two track and tool EPs. Now Gigli returns to the label for the first time solo with Inside. True to form both 'Further Reflection' and 'Rational Understanding' are heady examples of just how powerful Gigli's minimalistic approach can be. Both clocking in at over seven minutes each, Gigli charms with loops and intoxicating atmospheres, weaving in smoky curlicues from time to time, but essentially letting long and loping rhythms carry you out of time, place, and consciousness. Close your eyes, shut down your thoughts, let there be music and nothing else. Once again special attention has be turned to the artwork of this release, transforming the vinyl package into another desirable and highly collectable physical object. EDLX's in-house designer Jan Willem van den Ban spent much time deliberating on a conceptual and creatively challenging sleeve concept, in the end settling on laser cutting manipulations of the record itself. 'I've always liked the idea of designing by deleting. The obvious method to construct a design is to combine and add data or material.

Dedicated to the Rozelle Warehouse, a decrepit building in a forgotten corner of Memphis Tennessee, where bassbins shook ancient dust from the walls, lives were forever altered, and one guy took way too much acid.

Strong Detroit influenced techno EP, feat. remixes by Steven Tang, Stojche & Vidinovski!

Given the positive reception that led Maoupa Mazzocchetti's debut EP for Unknown Precept, we have decided to put on tape some of the tracks that were not released on his vinyl. Call it what you will, this vicious industrial terror for when the dance-floor turns ugly sees Maoupa going a little further in the experimentation, giving sex-appeal to discomfort through these four oxidized cuts.

The first release on Decoder Recordings comes from its founder The Binary Mind. The newly established label operates from Groningen, The Netherlands, having its main focus on energetic techno that brings dance floors in motion. The Bankrunner features four tracks on a very limited vinyl pressing. The whole EP has a distinctive sound and the title track immediately clarifies what the label is all about. The Binary Mind releases this material after a short period of silence in which the preparations for the label were made. All four tracks sound fierce but still breathe an atmosphere of obscurity, as does the artwork of the record sleeve.

Four tracks of 303 action from the Balkan Vinyl roster. Opening the 12' is We Jack The House by Altern 8 / Nexus 21 main man Mark Archer, a slice of proper late 80's style acid from a producer with the credentials to match. Following that is Schedule Acid, a funky analogue hardware workout from Ben Pest

On the flipside, Balkan label bosses Posthuman drop the tempo with Don't Rush, bringing their signature slo-mo techno vibe. The EP closes out with hyperactive Bollywood sampling Vishnu 303 by acid hardware nutter Chevron.

This is the new full-length album from techno veteran Christian Wunsch, a collection of nine tracks, slowly crafted that shows his own personal vision about techno. 'When The Process Is Expected' goes down to experimental territories, kickless, sweepy, dark and low.

'Ionized' turns again to floor energy, anabolic beats, tension and cycles, a hypnotic workout of modern electronic dance music, straight to the point.

'Radioactive Decay' breaks the drums, adds drones and sweeps, until resonated noises take over the arrangement, keeping it grey, opaque and futuristic.

'Nuclear Transition' acts as a short interlude made of atmospheric and percussive sequences.

'Graphene' slows down the BPM, building up a powerful drum architecture as in the previous cuts but this time uses analog sequences to create movement.

The closing release, 'Fixed Fraction' uses different coordinates, compact beats, sharp percussions, sci-fi sounds and subwoofer tension

Dazu gibt es zwei Remixe, die gegensätzlicher kaum seien können. Toby Dreher hat den dunklen, schwitzenden Clubfloor im Sinn, während Ruede Hagelstein auf einem Maisfeld einem schönen Sommermorgen entgegen tanzt. Hossa!


"Black Hawk" is the first single from the third album by Lebensfreude Records chief Gunne. Produced with Berlin beat bohemian Zuckermann and Wareika vocalist Florian Schirmacher, Gunne goes where no one has gone before. Consequently the track meanders between melancholic House and expressive Pop, while Florians structuring vocals provide a uniquely ensouled catchiness. Gunne & Zuckermann were never better and rarely was Florian more convincing. Class! The two remixes are very different in nature. Toby Dreher aims at the dark, sweaty club floor, while Ruede Hagelstein is dancing in a corn field dreamingly welcoming a fine summer morning. Yeah!

Ian Martin, is a musical & visual artist from Rotterdam producing from years. His music, always deep, ranging from dark & dirty to mental & moody sinister soundscapes, is always a disturbing treat, yet highly addictive & druggy. He already released material for prestigious domestic imprints such as Strangelife, Legowelt's now defunct very own label, Bunker and Panzerkreuz. He also runs the SEER show on the infamous Intergalactic FM Radio. This release is a 4 track mix of experimental soundtrack atmospheres. Enter the dark side..

Label-owner Kastil continues the Soul Notes imprint with a release that represents the self-reivention process that he is currently experiencing. Emphasizing on advanced synthesis and a more atmospheric approach to his sound, the Basque country native takes one on an intergalactic journey through his current mindset. The title track
'Binary Star' is a spacious journey where Kastil subtly blends ferm drums with a mystic pad and unusual drum changes. The effort slowly builds into a otherworldly peak with an original synthline.
For the A2 effort called 'Forest Curtains' Kastil heads into more repetitive territory where the focus lies heavily on drums and FX, some squeeky synth bits set the tone.
On the B side we find a very interesting Binary Star rework from EOMAC (of Lakker fame) who sets a somewhat dark tone which is reminiscent of Garage from a futuristic techno point of view. Not a track to pin down to one genre but definitely an effort that will turn a lot of heads.

Paul Mac - Eomac mix is the pick for me here. Some definite old UK Electronica vibes coming from this one which can never be a bad thing.

Robot Koch's debut EP for Monkeytown brings the intense, emotional soundscapes of one of Germany´s most talented producers to our homebase. For the release with us, Robot has compressed the united forces of his and various friends into 5 driven tracks that show a yet unheard readyness for the dancefloor. Surely the re - locating to LA influenced the approach to this ingenious record. The textures have become even more dense, with each sound ripened to perfection under the california sun. The tiniest detail in this clockwork of an EP seems like a precision instrument. Even in its most delicate moments, where a track is laid bare to let one single sound fill all the room, everything is in its perfect place. There´s no questions why Robot Koch just won the german composer award as 'best electronic composer of the year.' This young man is so in control of his elements that it seems he would be able to make almost everything. 'Tsuki' features 5 accurately crafted pieces, all of them dark but beautiful, all of them heartfelt but cool, all of them inclined to a straighter bassdrum but still far away from four to the floor.

Plan B Recordings continues its Underground Sounds compilation series. The A side represents label bosses DJ Spider and Dakini9. DJ Spider is his usual twisted self on Hive Mind' and Dakini9's house- techno hybrid Lost' reveals a few layers of meaning for the careful listener. The B side welcomes Berlin's Franklin De Costa with a deep moody burner named Retreat' and Fifth Wall Records co-boss Divvorce turns in a stomper with E./B.' to close out the compilation.

Collaboration project between Jauzas the Shining & Victoria Lukas featuring Ekman and Orgue Electronique. Lukas, drawing upon personal sensations, melds diary-like lyrics into dreamlike ambiance and textures, beautifully fusing with the infectious electro-pop grooves of Jauzas the Shining. Songs encapsulating lost love and longings for sensation, emotional stimulation and experiencing feelings through those of another are conveyed via vocal pieces, 'Cold Sweat' and 'Coral Eyes'. Ekman contributes a driving, acidic groove version of 'Cold Sweat' more apt for the dancefloor, while Orgue Electronique pushes the electronic pop vibes into house territory.

Maoupa Mazzocchetti's industrial-esque debut for Unknown Precept questions the primary inconstancy of music through five slices of proto-techno experiments; ranging from pile-driving kicks to rumbling bass, Maoupa's boiling mental activity vibrating and twitching in a very specific manner resulted in the live recording of 'A-Tranquility', which we could define as an EBM-styled extended-play browsing random directions while exploring muscular deconstructed grooves as well as metallic stodgy rhytms and noisy-atmospheric synth lines.

The second release on Exploris comes from the mysteriously named Mountainking. A meeting of minds from UK based producers Ejeca and Citizen, Mountainking draws on the pairs love of acid, techno and tribal infused sounds.

With the Def Kith EP, the usually mononymous Martin Dosh and Jon "Ghostband" Davis debut their techno-addled, IDM-damaged brand of bass-blessed dance music. Across these three or four generous cuts ("Twin Speak" is digital only) we hear two "one-man-band" types becoming a single machine. It's the rhythm section's revenge as the respective drums and bass of countless jazz and odd-rock ensembles put their improvisatory chops to work, funneling a lifetime of wild musical obsessions (Sun Ra, Squarepusher, the RZA, Caribou) into their live electronica.You might look to "Twin Speak" as a sort of sampler platter. A warm blurt is soon usurped by a four-four pulse — a harbinger of the seemingly hundred-plus interlocking pieces that jitter and wobble their way to a manic 13-minute whole. Left-field sonics, Afro-Latin percussion, Chicago house, playful melodies, and squelching sequences get caught up in the swirl. Other tracks stay vibrant but occupy a more defined space. "False Starts" rattles through a dark, lush soundscape too fast for Forest Swords, but too slow for footwork. "Bristol Bounce" approximates a vision of Miami bass abstracted through its municipal namesake's rich history of aural experimentation. And "Tet a Tet" openly references the ever influential Kieran Hebden, but carves its own identity out of Jamaican dub, Moroder synth, and broken beat. Fourteen minutes later: silence.But not for long. Dosh & Ghostband are hard at work on a full-length album — due on Anticon in 2015.

Minneapolitan music men Martin Dosh and Jon Davis unite as Dosh & Ghostband. Together, they wreck speakers and minds with techno-addled, IDM-damaged, bass 'n' bliss groove music. They've accomplished all kinds of admirable feats apart, it's true. Together, however, the pair have discovered a brotherhood that not only speaks to their shared history in a jazz-rich Twin Cities scene, but which holds these two in a mind-meld of melody and rhythm.
Their music is electronic, yes, but composed and recorded live in a Minnesota basement — Martin's home studio, from which he's churned out an impressive oeuvre of loop-driven instrumentals under his last name over the years. While the "Dosh" work sets those songs apart from his membership in bands like Fog, the Cloak Ox, and Andrew Bird's crew, his solo stuff is never made in a vacuum. In fact, Jon's bass is the first sound heard on the first Dosh album, sampled from a 4-track tape of the two jamming in the late '90s. They've been playing together for years, just usually in live ensembles with Martin on drums and Jon completing the rhythm section or on clarinet.

Holdie Gawn & Micawber are back with Sylphe06: Once again working around their usual split format. Holdie Gawn's ''Moon Ride'' is a haunting, melancholic trip in a deep mood, that stretches slowly and steadily over 12 minutes in a journey of enchanted synths and micro-grooves. Over to the B Side we have ''Vattum'' by Micawber, a solid, stopming techo affair with a large, deep bassline & kikcdrum, resonating and pulsating slowly. On top crispy rides, hats & glitches accompany the groove slowly, making this EP a fine comdination between two very different yet effective tracks for the mind and the dancefloor.

Andreas & Crazy Erg had their first clash already back in the '90s on Jerk and Form Records. These releases are still big classic anthems in the EDM scene.

Till now he is one of those Artists who made Techno popular Worldwide and placed it in the clubs. With other well known Techno Artists as Chris Liebing, Jeff Mills, Cari Lekebusch, Ben Sims and others he had shown presence in Clubs and at Festivals like Awakenings, Dance Valley, I Love Techno, Ground Zero, Monegros, Q-Base to name only a fraction of. He also inspired the masses in Asia, the USA, Australia and several other Countries in the Clubs and Outdoor with his performances. Andreas has done an unbelievable List of productions that`s bigger than 300 Vinyl single releases in the area of Techno and Elektronic music, till now which search it`s same. Crazy Erg (Electric Field / Harthouse / JEKR / FORM)
It is hard to write biographies of DJs every-time, who dedicated oneself to the black gold.And what should you do with a DJ, who operates in a genre for 20 years A good question, because Crazy ERG started in the tenderly age of 16 with EBM, New Wave and Electro.Like many of his business-proven colleagues he experiences new influences in his musical work with the first acid house records from Chicago and Detroit.Therefore the direction of the style by what the records in his record case are defined and that are allowed to escort him in the following years is evident very quickly.To count all his residencies, club gigs or events it needs a long list.But what has to be distinguished especially are, amongst others, the tour gigs he did with The Prodigy, who choosed him as support DJ for their first tours they did in Germany in 1994 and 1995.A tour with Moby followed in 1995 also and short time on it connoting gigs at Omen and Dorian Gray in Frankfurt, the E-Werk Berlin or the Aufschwung Ost in Kassel.Beside another countless gigs in complete Germany Crazy ERG played at nearly every important festival as well as gigs in Canada, Spain, France, Austria and Switzerland.Alongside his DJ gigs Crazy ERG did not miss to present his own concept of electronic music by a number of records and licenses until 2012. Arrived in the year 2013 it is not more quiet around him. DJ gigs in the country and outside are the way to earn one's daily bread and we will hear many new productions in the following months, too.Musically Crazy ERG is hard to classify. It is played what gives pleasure and rocks the dancefloor, wherein the bass pushes and what the crowd drives on. Borders of genres are a no-go like it has to be for a real artist.

The next 12 on Four Tet's Text label is a reissue of 'First Born', a lost garage single by the Crazy Bald Heads, includes Four Tet Remix
"I bought the First Born 12' from the Sounds of the Universe record shop in Soho in 1998. It was a time when I was deeply excited about the new and experimental 2 step/garage records that seemed to be coming out every week and the people in the shop knew I'd want this when I came in. They told me the record had been dropped off by the kids who had made it that day and they were just selling it direct to shops. It came in a hand made sleeve with bizarre artwork for a garage 12' and the music on the record sounded incredible. A wicked shuffling beat with amazing chopped samples flying in and out all over the place. It was on quite a different vibe to the other garage records around and stopped me in my tracks.
I told a couple of A+R guys I knew about the record because I really thought more people needed to hear this (pre internet situation) and this guy Ben really liked it and tried to sign the Bald Heads. He asked me to do a remix of First Born probably thinking they could reissue the 12' with the remix on and got the parts from them and I did the mix, and was told the Crazy Bald Heads were really happy with it. An acetate of the remix was made and given to Gilles Peterson who played it on his Radio 1 show. Then a while after that I heard from Ben that Crazy Bald Heads had decided to break up the group and they were done and the remix was shelved.
In 2011 I was asked to do a mix CD for Fabric and I wanted to use the original version of First Born and my remix on the cd. It seemed like a good chance to get it out there after all this time. However, we couldn't find any of the Bald Heads anywhere at first to clear the track and no one knew anything about them. Some of the original garage DJs like Zed Bias remembered the record but no one had any contact details. I now realised that this was one of the weirdest and most unknown garage records from the late 90's. Fabric managed to find one of the Bald Heads at the last minute though and the track was cleared and I was put in touch with him.
I met up with him a few months later and we spoke about the idea of a reissue to give this music some more life and because the original 12' is so rare, and now this reissue is finally ready. The three tracks from the original EP plus my remix from the time that wasn't released. The reissue audio is from the original DAT but unfortunately the floppy disk with the original artwork on was corrupted.

He is Brooklyn's bang mixed with Mid-Western politeness, and is easily one of the most original and well-liked artists in the industry. His sought-after Live PA, matched with a discography and release schedule that aspiring artists would kill for, keeps him consistently in high demand. He has turned up the heat in recent years, burning miles across the globe and sharing his enthusiasm for music and life via Macbook, Machinedrum and two Korg's.

Tony's lengthy journey from a College scratch DJ in Effingham, IL, to Brooklyn live artist and International superstar has been driven by his love and fascination for innovative musical ideas. His range of inspiration fuels his indefinable sound, gathering ideas through early Hip-Hop, House, Industrial and finally Techno. Channeling these expressions through his performances has earned him center stage at places like I Love Techno, Nature One, Awakenings, Tresor, Berghain, Chris Liebing's Spinclub, Kozzmozz, Fuse, and even the closing of the famous La Real in Spain.

In 2005 Tony met Tim Xavier and Camea in Brooklyn, and they began releasing together on Clink Recordings. He has contributed to five of their releases as a solo artist, and collaboratively with Tim as the Afternoon Coffee Boys. He ignited the label's popularity with his biggest record of 2007, Kreuzberg Krunk. Tony also works with Alexi Delano, Dietrich Schoenemann and Dave Shokh (Dirka Dirka) on numerous projects and his work has been featured on top labels such as Cocoon, Weave, Plus 8, Drumcode, Podium and Frankie Records.

The first release of the new year for Delsin Records will be the new album from VRIL. VRIL debuted on the Delsin-label with his excellent Vortekz EP early in 2014, which came after releases on his family-label Giegling and also Semantica in previous years, and was followed up by the Torus LP, a double 12" on Giegling affiliate Forum. Now he's back with his second full length. One day VRIL sat down in his station and suddenly a Portal opened. Thru a kind of timehole infinitive moments passed by. Luckily he was able to capture a few of those to share with us. The Portal closed. Nothing was left, no questions.. only this LP.

Latest installment of the limited series from the home of Ivan Drago. This one sees another split with Beau Wanzer back at the helm controlling the a-side with more heavy handed beat tracks made for mixing, while the b-side is a very very very nasty warehouse techno beast by NJB.

Forward Strategy Group, one of Perc Trax's central acts return with their first EP since their debut album 'Labour Division' was released
in May of last year. Since then they have gigged around Europe including gigs at Berlin's two temples of techno, Berghain and Tresor
and have had their album tracks remixed by UK industrial/synth fusionists Factory Floor and Perc Trax's man in Athens, Sawf.

Continuing the expansion of their sound first heard on 'Labour Division' the EP opens with 'We're Looking For Manpower', one of
their most melodic tracks to date based around floating chord sequences and a momentum heavy, clap driven groove. Next 'Clean
Neckline' toys with broken beats and grinding machine noise, somehow distorted & saturated in sound whilst also clean and crisp.

Finally the epic 'Code #3' continues the sound of Code #1 and #2 from their debut Perc Trax EP with a rock solid 4/4 kick, a snare
that could floor a toddler from 50 paces and a host of rattling percussion patterns providing all the rhythmic interest you could desire.

Three personal reinterpretations of the original stuff; the dark lord from Singapore puts his tools to work on "Disinformation" as well, slowing the tempo but recharging the drums with his very own distinctive approach. He also remakes the original synth sounds to make them move on the stereo scientifically.

We continue with Perc. Mr. Ali Wells destroys "Black Propaganda" with smashing broken beats, distorted snares and bleeps, big room reverbs and industrially-flavoured percussion. Not an easy one for those suffering from subwoofer trauma.

Orphx takes on "Disinformation" clearing up the original drums, digging deep into the beat, creating a very personal groove. The distorted original drum sounds appear modified in the middle of the arrangement, while harmonic drones float on top. An intelligent dance piece.

The duo behind Forward Strategy Group returns with their first release in almost a year. Under the stewardship of Alan Fitzpatrick, 8 Sided Dice Recordings continues to maintain its reputation as one of the most consistent techno labels to emerge in recent times thanks to a steady stream of well-received releases. At just 24 years of age Hans Bouffmyhre is without one of Europe's most exciting techno prospects. Brought up on the subterranean techno heritage that exists in his native Glasgow, the manner in which the young Scotsman has firstly created a career opportunity for himself by creating his own Sleeze events and record label brand and then latterly worked hard to maximise his own profile within techno by becoming a proficient enough producer to earn releases on Electric Deluxe, Perc Trax, Soma and Harthouse to tell you all you need to know about his dedication and passion for techno.

For his third outing on 8 Sided Dice in as many years Hans Bouffmyhre has delivered a typically bombastic and uncompromising three-track EP. Lead track 'Pressure' sets out the stall with its cavernous kick and nagging chords that evolve from a simplistic pattern to create a hypnotic melodic mass. 'Hurricane' opts for a more abrasive vibe with its distinctive jittering buzzer sound and rising tones making for an anxious and disorientating effect. Finally, 'Mental State' brings elements of both styles together by fusing pounding grooves, unrelenting bleeps, echoing chimes and nagging harmonics.

The structure and the essence of this release, focuses on a current argument in which more and more people in this society are found to be the early protagonists, often without even realizing it.
The artist wants to tell and convey through his work, a point of view towards this theme.
As can be deduced from the title of the EP, the project is to express and represent a war of colors, which fight the monotony of everyday, always flat and dark.
The first track, "Daily March", wants to criticize this monotony through a full-bodied sound that recalls a real daily march, which many people are facing every day. All accompanied by a setting of hypnotic sounds that capturing the attention of the listener, carrying in a vicious circle in which one perceives the focus of the concept that the artist wants to communicate.
The second track, "Appearance Of Freedom" is the soundtrack for those who are trapped in slavery everyday life, believing to be free or at least trying to able to escape from the monotony, but then realizing that it is only an appearance. The sound of this second soundtrack fully embraces with the first, almost as if it were a single story that is going to evolve, arguing the rebellion that the artist wants to express in this state of being of the person in the present life.
To accompany the two original works of Kalos, there are two remixes by great artists, the first made by the Irish duo Lakker, which are able to communicate their idea of daily march through their strong version, being able to also expose them a very clear message.
The second remix is made by the Begian artist Yves De Mey, for the track "Apperance Of Freedom" where he captures in full the message of the track and re-edited, bringing attention to the full-bodied bass carefully distorted, creating a trip hypnotic evolving.

Following Leitmotiv, the debut album of Berlins new dynamic duo Puresque, Tresor Records is proud to present a set of remixes of the albums main titles. Enrolled on remix duties are none other than The Black Dog, Cari Lekebusch, Terence Fixmer and Petar Dundov. An international selection, gathering some of the Techno scenes most talented players - all of whom have performed at Tresor, during Puresques monthly event Puresque im Keller over the last months.

Keeping up the pressure with their anonymous EP series, R-Zone now offer up three more cuts of purely dance floor aligned action. Opener 'You Wear The Mask Of The Beast' is a mysterious cut with a spooky lead synth, subtle, buried deep drums that are full of implicit energy and build to a heady peak. Raw textures, unfamiliar patterns and perfect back room vibes all pervade. 'Salt Volatile This Sucka' is a slow mo but chugging track with frazzled synth lines, atmospheric pads and curious melodies all spiralling above lazy, ramshackle drums. Last but not least, 'Arrowhead', a sludgy, dirty, sleazy groove that sounds broken. It's a fantastic fusion of fucked up machines sounds that keeps you on edge throughout. Once again here R-Zone have confounded all expectations with their left-of-centre electronica.

Strut return to the archives of seminal Chicago house label Dance Mania in January 2015 for 'Dance Mania: Ghetto Madness'. The follow-up to Strut's acclaimed Dance Mania label retrospective 'Hardcore Traxx' from early 2014, this new instalment places the spotlight on the raw, stripped back, hyper bpms of ghetto house and the rise of the movement's fresh generation of stars during the mid'90s including DJ Deeon, DJ Funk, Jammin' Gerald and DJ Milton.

The album tells the story of the evolution of Chicago's sound during the era as mix tapes circulated through local stores and DJs developed their own underground following, playing local parties in the projects. Crowds began responding to faster bpms and gangsta rap-inspired X-rated lyrics. As DJ Deeon remembers, 'it bridged the gap. It made it OK for guys in the ghetto to like house again and it brought the women onto the dancefloor too.' Dance Mania was perfectly positioned to capitalise on the new sound - many of the DJs came regularly into Ray Barney's record store and, as Chicago's most trusted and respected label owner, he was offered the best tracks for commercial release at an early stage.

'Ghetto Madness' brings together some of the underground classics and enduring favourites that earned Dance Mania the title of 'Ghetto House's Motown'. Tracks include DJ Deeon's party-starter 'The Freaks', raw DJ Funk cut 'Computer Sex' and Nina Kraviz favourite, Paul Johnson's 'Give Me Ecstacy'. Other featured gems from the archive include the dark early Steve Poindexter outing 'Computer Madness' and Tyree's in-demand jam, 'Nuthin' Wrong'.

Art Department, one of electronic music's most recognizable dance outfits announce the release of their eagerly awaited second studio album, 'Natural Selection', releasing through No.19 Music this November.

Jonny White, acting head of No.19 Music and Canadian techno legend, Kenny Glasgow make up the infamous duo known as Art Department, a collaborative project that has seen almost unparalleled success within the world of dance music in recent years. In 2010 the pair transcended genre barriers and paved the way for countless artists with their first single - 'Without You' which was awarded Resident Advisor's 'Track of the Year' and #1 track of the year at the 2011 Beatport awards paving their way to a level of success rarely achieved by underground artists.

Their critically acclaimed debut album, 'The Drawing Board' released on the prestigious Crosstown Rebels label; gave birth to a new sound that had drawn on the best cues from both artists. The LP was cited as an 'underground masterpiece' and credited with changing the musical landscape of the electronic underworld reaching #2 on iTunes and awarded 'Best Electronic Album' of 2011. In 2012 they reached yet another milestone when the duo were welcome guests on the legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix and at the BBC's hallowed Maida Vale studios shortly before Vibe Magazine ranked them #2 DJ/Producers in the world, second only to Daft Punk, firmly establishing them as a rare thing in the world of electronic music.

'Natural Selection' sees Art Department expand upon their previous release, building a deeper and more mature and experimental sound that unravels through the duo's trademark murderous basslines, raw textures, expert production and distinctively melancholy vocals of Kenny Glasgow that have made them one of the most prolific writing/production teams in the industry .

Berlin based house producer, Aquarius Heaven and the infamous Seth Troxler, both partake with original vocal contributions in the form of "Kisses For Roses" and "Cruel Intentions" and blend effortlessly into Art Department's brooding, alternate reality.

'Natural Selection' represents the music, the story and Art Department's evolution from the projects inception until now, alongside Kenny and Johnny's personal journeys as individuals. Strewn with themes that centre on the cyclical idiosyncrasy of 'natural selection', Art Department explore a defined narrative throughout the LP; feelings of spiritual awakening and tranquillity, indecision and turmoil tell a story in which the beginning could in fact be the end. Phrases such as "long awaited" or "much anticipated" are often taken lightly but rarely are these words ever as true as in this instance, as hundreds of thousands of die-hard fans anticipate the release of an artist LP that follows a truly classic, debut album that was so undeniably important to a modern day music movement.

Spearheading Freitag's new focus on the subgenres Industrial Techno,
Dark and Raw is Martin Dolgener, a veteran of professional media sound
design since the early '90s. Martin's been a music maker from the age of
twelve, crafting beats using a key-tar and ghetto blaster. In the early
'90s he designed sound for games and other media. The growth of the
internet community allowed him to share his ideas globally, to a very
positive reaction. Since 2012 he has had more than 24 releases
(including three vinyl) he's an exclusive artist for Freitag on their
new recording direction (industrial infused techno). Dolgener's future
plans is to develop his live performance set, things could get interesting.
He's currently serving up a deliciously dark and dirty vinyl including
two amazing remixes from Go!Diva and Knobs. The name of the track 'Rumm
Rumm' captures the warm, embracing bass, which is cut like glass by a
groove driven synth. 'Voluums Edge,' according to Dolgener, expresses
the angst of a soul desperate to see outside the box. Check out the
digital version, which includes the bonus track 'Efunk', a sick dose of
ballsy raw industrial funk, along with another mad remix by Knobs.

'Sub Concious' was originally conceived as the exclusive track for Erol Alkan's 'FabricLive 77' mix, which was released to major critical acclaim back in August. A highlight track within the mix, 'Sub Conscious' has now been remixed by Tin Man and new Phantasy signing Kamera.

Over the last decade Tin Man has explored an ever-evolving sound palette that touches on house, techno and ambient. His tracks have been laced with slow and subtly shifting patterns that are infused with a very real machine soul and captivating warmth. In his remix of 'Sub Conscious', Tin Man drapes Alkan's celestial strings and piano stabs over his own bassline to blissful, rousing effect.

Kamera's rich sonic space was part born in rural Yorkshire and eventually came to fruition in the wintry Majorca sunshine, his soundinfluenced by artists such as Sunn o))), Fugazi, Autechre and Sabres of Paradise. Kamera takes the track's acidic origins and threatens to overpower with layers of stunning feedback that drag the listener in further still. Stay tuned for an EP from Kamera on Phantasy in early 2015.

Born and raised in East Detroit, a diet of Prince, 80s R&B and techno provided the crucible for Jimmy Edgar's life in music. Ever precocious, from his mid-teens he was building his foundations as a DJ, playing at raves in the city alongside some of techno's founding fathers, as well as conducting ambitious experiments with rudimentary recording equipment, and by the age of just 18 he'd signed to the electronic music institution, Warp. Later recording for K7! and Hotflush, and advancing his considerable DJ talent during a spell residing in Berlin, in 2013 Jimmy established the Ultramajic imprint with fellow electronic auteur Aden, and it is fresh material from the label that provides the backbone for FABRICLIVE 79. "I went through a bunch of unreleased tracks we are going to put out on Ultramajic and decided to launch them with this mix. I got some exclusive material from my good friends Danny Daze, Crystal Bandito, and Kris Wadsworth. This mix is explores the different vibes of Ultramajic." Jimmy Edgar
Commencing with a nod to his hometown forebears, with Terrence Dixon and Patrice Scott contributing deep Detroit cuts to the opening minutes of the mix, we're soon reveling in a slew of unreleased Ultramajic material from Crystal Bandito and Jimmy himself, including a typically no-nonsense collaboration with LA native Truncate and the snare-driven 'Walk Show' featuring the deeply-missed Chicago footwork icon DJ Rashad. It's here that the many facets of Jimmy Edgar really shine through: DJ, producer, and label curator. The mix picks up an unmistakable strut, before momentarily taking a breath with Danny Daze's deep house blending unexpectedly into the ghetto-tech of DJ Godfather & DJ Starski. A pair of unyielding Kris Wadsworth cuts sandwich another Jimmy Edgar exclusive in the mix's final stretch, ensuring that, despite its author's nomadism through the years, the music of Detroit runs like a seam through FABRICLIVE 79.

ACHTERBAHN D'AMOUR's machinefunk opus, "ODD MOVEMENTS" gets reworked with 4 sonically diverse remixes. Detroit don MARCELLUS PITTMAN kicks things off with a massive, unsettling flip of "HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE." The Italian producer CHEVEL is up next with a virtuosic take on the LP's title track. His cubist, artfully restrained version ends with over a minute of icy techno snap. CONVEXTION, as well, chooses to hold back for maximum impact, infusing the moody "PASSAGEN" with subdued electro bounce. Finally, SW. imbues the duo's "KONIGSTR" with dubbed-out breakbeat pressure, occasionally allowing the original acid line to seep through a skittering rave rhythm.

Davide Carbone is an Acid Dark Industrial Techno artist whose latest vinyl EP— put out by Freitag's new Acid Techno focus sublabel on vinyls, Freitag Dots— is a decadent dish served up with acid dub elements, deep drones, industrial influences and found sounds so raw , you can feel them happening beside you. The track titles manifest a gentle mockery of organized religion: 'Each title is a way to jeer at things I think are ridiculous about human society,' says David.

'The title of the EP refers to the malicidium, a practice used by the church in the middle ages for justifying the killing of the enemies of the church by accusing them of witchcraft. We really haven't moved beyond that; those in power are able to change the rules, and most of what we think we know is actually fake.'

So what inspires these rich, distorted tracks, deliciously garnished with industrial, sci-fi, and raw 'found' sounds

'I love listening to music that inspires me to do something different. I like to make distorted music because of my influences. Lately more people have been producing clear music, but my view of doing music is to make noise and create damage in the brain with powerful bass that you can feel inside yourself when you're in the club. I don't like to follow trends. I do music to make me feel good when I'm dancing.'

Carbone's favourite book is The Art of Noise by Luigi Russolo, a futurist musician and poet, born in 1883: 'In my opinion he was the true forerunner of the music I do now.'
