Edition six in the Gynoid Audio Limited series presents two Scandinavian veteran producers, Mattias Fridell & Samuli Kemppi. The Scandinavian vibe is immediate manifest with its melancholy & deepness, along with almost philosophic vibes packed in a rusty, mechanical suit. Both the original and remix on "Procurators" encloses the necessary components for true dance floor classics. Where Mattias' Original Mix functions with several different elements throughout the track, Samuli's Remix turns it to a more stripped down and direct sci-fi injection, and both the original and remix allows heavy focus on a fierce 808 hihat patterns.

GROW003 begins with an emotional poem to the eye, A1 Le Ojo (slow tool mix), an envisaged desire is definite in the long, and within in which rich, percussion; a strong and constant longing can be felt, emphasised with sporadic calls to another in a determined expression in honour of the eye.

Bratha is the studio project of No Mad Ronin, Marieu and Lucretio. These 4 gems of contemporary techno have been recorded during the past months at the Restoration Headquarters with the ssistance of a bunch of transistors delights carried by No Mad Ronin to Neukölln. All the music has been produced on hardware devices and record on ferromagnetic tape during frantic aftertea sessions. This is a first selection of their works, for the sake of techno. On B1 the Bratha trio has been joined by Arthur Cayzer (SheWorksTheLongNights). Only 300 copies have been pressed on blacklabels and no further repress is planned at the moment.

A friend of ours wrote a magazine article a couple of years ago saying that the one good thing about the credit crunch was that it would give the warehouse party scene a boost. For some reason that hasn't quite happened yet - but we refuse to give up hope. And to prove it, we have got a belter for you on Retrometro. Detect Audio are Arnaud Le Texier and Antonio De Angelis. Between them they've clocked up and impressive catalogue of releases on Cocoon, Bass Culture, 2020 Vision, Syncrophone, Gynoid, OFF, Leftroom and Children of Tomorrow. And they don't disappoint here. Minotaur brings heavy, upfront kicks and unrelenting perc drive together with a smooth and infectious Convexion-style synth line. Freak Lips is a cranked-up ghost-in-the-machine groove, and Leadings is a precision-engineered destroyer. In addition, ROD has filed a pacey rework of Minotaur, which comes through with a Hardgroove flavour and a no-prisoners bass drive. Meanwhile Antigone turns up the dub pressure in his remix, combining discombobulating pads and tooth-shattering bleep to massive effect. This one really has to be listened to through a massive wall of speakers in a building made of asbestos. But if you can't find one, a nightclub will just have to do... Either way, make sure you've got a penny on top of the needle, because it's heavy. Martin Landsky needs little introduction - his services to the cause of house and techno have been well documented, particularly through his long and fruitful collaboration with Steve Bug's Poker Flat label. Always willing to take chances, Landsky continues this legacy with what might be the fiercest assault of the dancefloor of the year - get ready for Ekko Trax. This three track release sees Martin achieve something very special - a raw and honest tribute to the sounds that inspired him - namely the early days of Detroit and Chicago, before genres like house and techno had been defined and pigeon-holed. Each cut here is a creative interpretation of the tough, jacking rhythm trax popularized by originators like Ron Hardy at the Warehouse in the mid 80s - uncut machine funk made with one purpose in mind - delirious and ecstatic dancefloor movement. Even the titles reflect the stripped down vibe - these trax are purposefully rough-hewn and fully authentic - aggressive and euphoric slices of electronic body music that build their groove and melody out of swaths of deadly delay and echo. Showing it's still possible to innovate with basic materials, 'ET1' and 'ET2' are equally irresistible - paired down to the essentials and shot through with a charged, raw energy.
'Let It Snow' continues the theme - an acidic monster built on the sounds that shaped a generation.Each of these tracks has a timeless quality, managing to both pay their respects to the origins and keeping things moving forward at the same time. One thing's for sure - Landsky's Ekko Trax will be tearing up clubs from Berlin to Buenos Aires throughout 2013.

Krake 001 is a CD/LP compilation that features tracks by artists who played in 2012 for us. A few of them have been released on other labels before, but the bigger part of the material is exclusive. Some of the tracks were even recorded live at our festival. Barely into their third year of existence as a musical entity, what goldFFinch have achieved in this short time is impressive to say the
least. 2013 looks to be another exciting year for this mysterious duo who have focused on letting their incredible music do the talking.

Ipman has established himself as a force to be reckoned with over the last couple of years, bringing a lethal combination of unfaltering creative freshness and no-nonsense soundsystem pressure to the table. His music is held in high regard by Kryptic Minds, and this August sees them welcome Ipman to the Osiris Music UK crew to drop two blackened cuts of bruising tech-edged weaponry for the imprint's 32nd release. The results are unreservedly dark and punishing, with 'Persistent Dread' driven by hypnotising sub bass body-blows that punch beneath a jagged swell of menacing sound design and mazing glitch melodies. The flip features the fierce rolling beats of 'Signal Motion', a lurching stomper that hits hard with chest-caving intent; deft snarls of mechanised snyths and titanium-grade kicks accent waves of deep dread frequency. A monstrous debut Osiris 12' from Ipman, as both label and artist continue to make serious moves in 2013.

(Part Of The August Cargo Collective) RIYL: Voices From The Lake, Terrence Dixon, Basic Channel. Genre Deep Techno / Electro Acoustic / Experimental. Blondes were last heard demonstrating their transcendent approach to dance music - one

favoring analog serenity to digital flare - on the duo's 2012 self-titled debut album. The evolution of sound systems on which Blondes played created a curve along which Sam Haar and Zach Steinman learned to build a universally impactful sonic experience. After

rehauling their gear and settling into a new studio space, Blondes' busy year ended in an intensely focused production period during which Haar and Steinman sculpted the boldly detailed Swisher. Swisher unfolds as a series of mini-epics rather than a string of banging cuts. Still, the allegiance to the groove remains absolute. Percussive elements are most notably honed, drawing a sharp contrast between Swisher's rich timbres and the vaporous synth sounds that seep throughout the album. Centerpiece 'Andrew' and closer 'Elise' enhance the melodic concerns of Blondes early material, mantled now in a maturity that favors gradual force. By focusing on process rather than protocol, Haar and Steinman allow space in each track for dramatically immersive environments. Most tracks on Swisher tread beyond the five minute mark, but always absorb rather than indulge. This cosmic scope aligns Blondes not only with the German synth masters of the 70s who have been a guiding inspiration for the duo since the onset, but also the slow burning dub techno of later day Germany - though ramped up several bpms. The heterogeneous textures throughout Swisher often brood, but ultimately make for a considerate and cathartic brand of dance music. Swisher's foundation is its tremendously crafted percussive core, and its architecture is the elemental beauty hinted at in prior Blondes work offered, offered now in lucid detail.

and driving synths.
B-side 'Machine dreams' takes the tempo down a
notch. With growling bass and dubbed out hits
developing into a grinding rhythm....

After the overwhelming success of the first release, the Climat collective returns again with another seasonal inspired release named Primavera, featuring the works of Pheek. Known for his lyrical and hypnotic pad use, Pheek throws in the first track Hyperpad as an opener. The track itself is unsynchronized melody, as a complex pachelbel effect of percussive sounds layered over melancholic melody. The result is a very eary but reassuring, warm atmosphere. The b-side is a collaborative effort with Stephen Vitiello, a sound design artist known for his works on 12k and Subrosa, as well as artists Andrew Deutsch and Sawako from Japan. Textures are rearranged by Pheek who sculpt half dreamy, half dancy moments of pure delight.

After being wowed by Christian Smith's superb remix of Carl Craig's 'At Les' the legendary Underworld listed it as one of their tunes of 2010 thereby planting a seed in the veteran producers mind.

A mutual appreciation and the aforementioned events have resulted in Smith's biggest remix yet - the reworking of Underworld's seminal 'Dark & Long'.

Coming in two versions, both of which have won immense support from the band themselves, the Christian Smith remixes of 'Dark & Long' take the track in to new territories respectfully and skilfully.

The Tronic Treatment mix preserves the vibe of the original perfectly while adding a condensed but slow burning feeling of tension which explodes into the epic break we all know and love.

The Hypnotica dub version underpins Karl Hydes classic vocal refrain and the rich synths of the original with an ever-changing, guttural monster of a bassline that adds a whole load of understated aggression without ever taking over the wonderful melodies.

Born under a bad sign... SHITPARADE label owners and best friends DANIEL METEO & T.RAUMSCHMIERE finally teamed up in the studio to bring birth to their first release as dad and dad. PARADE 10.0 under the monika D.REAMTEAM was initially planned to celebrate the 10th edition of the annual Berlin club festival by the chaotic label that takes place on the 13th of july, on Dr. Motte´s original birthday. Musicwise this 12' kind kicks off surprisingly soft flowing with a 7 minute club trip without any bassdrum. Clack Clack Clack Clack. PULT is waving afterhour dj food for the drug crowd. B side opener KATA can be translated to a reverse varation of the same material but on a fat ass shuffle beat. B side closing tune SHIT could be described as typical rock techno opera a la T.RAUMSCHMIERE but with this METEO touch.

We are very very proud about this first Terminal M release from globetrotter Danny Serrano, worldwide admired for his amazing releases on Get Physical, Saved Records, Area Remote, Viva Music, Break New Soil, Kling Klong, Suara, KD Music... And also this time the guy from Madrid knows well how to treat his gear and how to create atmospheres to rock any dancefloors. Or to shake down on any dancefloor.

DJ Hi-Shock, also known as Advanced Human, returns to his roots, releasing
a track on a label where it once all started: Elektrax Recordings.

Opening and title track 'Control' is as funny named as it is maddening.
The irony lies in the fact that it is truly impossible to control your
body while this killer pumps out of the speakers. The bassline grabs you
by the throat instantly, and only grants you time to breathe during the
breakdown, where a perfectly placed highpass filter throws you right back
into your initial state; complete failure of control...

Knowing Kraemer and Niereich, we don't have to expect any remorse here.
Their remix contiunues the peaktime madness right from where Hi-Shock left
it. Dark hoovers and raw percussion are the right drug for just any party,
being it at home or the local warehouse. The fast paced rhythms bring you
right back to where technomusic was always about; squashing the last bits
of energy out of the dancefloor.

On the B side, we are treated with 'The Womb'. The metallic sounding
percussion sets the perfect industrial mood, and when the kick knocks in,
we realize that DJ Hi-Shock's intentions never were to go easy on us. The
track gets carried by the genius, gloomy percussion, and if there would
ever be a human memory referencing a true womb, we could certainly imagine
it sounding like this.

To close things off, 'Rave Control' comes along. It won't come as a
surprise that this isn't your run of the mill minimal house track. Seldom
we heard an offbeat track with such a drive, and if Dante would ever
thought about writing about a 11th circle of hell, this would be the track
to accompany the context. When the tracks takes advantage of the window of
oppurtunity to scream the vocal 'rave control' at you, you realise that DJ
Hi-Shock is truly the lord of the underground, and the EP's title finally
strucks you; the dj playing this, will be in full rave control.

From the deepest and blackest moments to the highest emotion in a rush.
On the A side pure 808 and 303 inductions soak you into a state where you will find yourself distracted from reality.
On the B side we let our passion for a good rave go. Allways high and never sorry!

Positioned as lesser-known little brother to Adam Beyer's globally renowned Drumcode brand, Truesoul has, to a varying extent, existed in the shadows since its conception in 2002.

Never designed to be a label that you could set your watch by, releases have come
sporadically over the past nine years, albeit when they have come they have always made an
impact. Notable examples include much of Beyer's most recent material; including his last
studio album, Ignition Key. Other contributors include Cari Lekebusch, Joel Mull, Agaric, Alexi
Delano, Aril Brikha, Dustin Zahn, Nihad Tule, Steve Rachmad & Heiko Laux and Ida Engberg.
Originally established as a channel for more alternative material, Adam Beyer's Truesoul label continues to provide a deeper, left-of-centre alternative to the Swede's more functional Drumcode output. Recent releases such as Maetrik's chart-topping The Entity, Adam Beyer's Diana Ross (!) sampling 'No Rain', Patrick Siech and Gustav Sollscher's sonically diverse 'The
Watch Receiver' EP and Marc Antona's sensual Darwin EP set the tone for what is to come as
Truesoul continue their push to become a go-to label for fans of a deeper and edgier tech vibe.
Having released his 'Sensory' long-player on Truesoul in February 2011, Joel Mull returns to
the label he considers his spiritual home for his first original production of this year. Often
described as 'The Techno Soul of Sweden' thanks to his predilection for fusing emotive
atmospherics and erudite ambience with the kind of purposeful beats Techno has come to
expect from Stockholm's long line of trailblazers; Mull's reputation as a 'producers producer' is
well documented. Naturally, those who were seduced by the contrasting emotional highs and
lows that defined 'Sensory' will find plenty to enjoy within this rich and balanced two-track EP.
Lead track, 'Running', is a carefully crafted example of Joel Mull's deeper side. Unrushed,
deeply groovy and enchanting; harmonic tones ping pong beneath a distinctive vocal lament
and bumping tech groove. This is just the kind of track that has made Mull a firm favorite with
Panorama Bar's Sunday night long-haulers. 'Track From The Past' subtly picks up the tempo
but retains a slow-burning depth and tripped out 'messiness' that flow so naturally from Joel
Mull productions. Hypnotic and driving, swirling melodic loops twist and distort into acidtweaked
hooks dotted above lively, muscular grooves of perpetual, upbeat, forward motions.

Planetary Assault Systems presents Deep Heet Volume 3, the third instalment of one of Luke Slater's most seminal series to date on Mote-Evolver and carrying on the series of intergalactic exploration.

Voltan rips the EP open. Inspired by the Mayan god of drums and the earth, Voltan is underpinned by primal desires. Huge bass drives the track forward and an angry undercarriage whirls deep below. Peppered with snares and licks of white noise, the EP starts as it means to go on.

Pygar's futuristic sound palette is utterly hypnotic. Loops are layered insistently and despite the 4/4 structure a disorientating soundscape emerges. Filled with sounds that could just as well have been sampled from a space station as coaxed from a synthesiser, Pygar is optimised for the chaotic afterhours.

On the flip side the abstract references are abandoned in favour of the concrete. Turn erupts with syncopated rhythms, metallic rasps and mechanical warning signals. It's the stuff of industrial nightmares.

Flat Tire is built on an angular bed of noise and interspersed with low, deep rumblings. The track fans outwards as ecstatic details are layered one upon another, ensuring that the EP closes on an enduringly hypnotic note.

Planetary Assault Systems has created four tracks that don't play by the rules. Deep Heet Volume 3 is Luke Slater yet again innovating with four tracks that fuse together the experimental, the bold and the brutal.

Saturday Night Fervor silkily wraps itself around wiggly disco-inflected samples that guarantee hand raising and foot stomping in equal measure. This is the kind of fun, soulful, inclusive party bomb that makes the world go round.

All Day pulls off a similar trick by extracting maximum vibe from a tiny vocal sample, this time laying it over a harder-edged beat constructed from finely tuned kicks, crisp layered hats, and a killer hook of a bass line. This is a pec-pumping, ass bumping groove, a rock-solid house you could jack in ALL day.

As if these two bombs weren't enough of a workout, we called in legendary producer Robert Hood, fresh off releasing a new LP as Floorplan, to transport things into the Detroit dimension with hypnotic stabs, slamming rides and extended vocals.

Halocyan Records is proud to team up with rising star Dosem (of labels such as Tronic, Intec, Suara and Bedrock) for its penultimate summer release, 'Atica'. This single is expertly trimmed to optimally loud 45-RPM perfection, a lean and muscular dancefloor bomb primed to take the world by storm. Its two tracks embody the Catalonian producer's thoroughly singular sound which has caught the attention of contemporary dance luminaries such as Sasha, Carl Cox, John Digweed, Joris Voorn, Christian Smith, and Laurent Garnier. Title track 'Atica' is the main attraction, a technicolor anthem encompassing all the best elements of Marc Dosem's forward thinking and inspirational 'soul-techno and hi-tech funk'. Comprised of a handful of sounds employed with expert timing and finesse, this track's undeniably huge bassline and gliding beat follow a fist-pumping path of total elevation, helped along by ecstatic synths and crucial horn stabs. Jason Potratz's debut album 'Transfer', released on Phthalo Records in 2001, was a work of experimental acid
techno well ahead of its time. The release heralded much of the ensuing popularity of SH-101, MC-202, and TB-303-
inspired electronics. Over a decade later, just as it seems that acid is once again on the rise in electronic music
culture, the shadowy and mysterious Potratz returns on Halocyan with a killer single entitled 'Absent Center'. The
philosophical concept of the 'absent center' revolves around paralysis or evaporation through planning and thought.
In kind, this track is a forceful, paranoid rush of lacerating, rich and twitchy sound design-- all frenzied, furious
movement, exploding and collapsing inward upon itself. Potratz's expert programming and sound design are very
deliberate flirtations with ways of grounding the groundless in a techno framework. On the B-side, NHK RMX, aka
NHK / Kouhei Matsunaga (whose prolific and experimental body of work has been released on labels such as Pan,
Raster-Noton, and Mille Plateaux), whips 'Absent Center' into an absolutely relentless cyclone of whirring bleeps,
renegade high-hats and and a consistent, ingrained glitch. Cut by Stefan Betke (aka Pole) at 45 RPM for optimum
loudness, limited to 200 copies.

Ministry of Sound's Masterpiece series has so far produced a collection of mixes that are already considered timeless by many. With dance music luminaries Andrew Weatherall, Gilles Peterson, Fabio & Grooverider, Jazzie B and Francois K taking the Masterpiece concept and curating seminal mix compilations.
For the latest instalment in this inspirational series, Ministry of Sound have employed the services of a Techno leviathan, a man who hails from the Mecca of Techno, Detroit and someone who not only grew up with the sound but is considered to be one of the foremost pioneers of the genre, a Grammy-nominated visionary and an artist who has consistently pushed the envelope when it comes to making and performing electronic music. Dark Maneuvres is a track which lives up to its name, the original expressing pumping, dark and crunchy sounds interspersed with string arrangements and overdubs which move the track in various different directions. The 1996 original is a great example of some production techniques of the time and is of interest in identifying the direction of the Techno sound in that era, as well as being eminently listenable. Slam were very much involved in the progression of Techno at the same time as Envoy was creating tracks such as Dark Manoeuvres and as such they have a real handle on how things have evolved, enabling them to bring a classic release such as this bang up to date. The distinctive hook, attention-grabbing melody and strings which are distinctive elements of the original are all incorporated in a full and fresh dynamic which sees some of these elements regrouped in individual sections such as the strings or moulded with deeper, darker resonance into a new expression.

One year after the first excursion into his haunting world of sonic spaces on the Analog Amputations EP, machine wizard CVBox strikes back on Uncanny Valley with the follow up "Trawler Crossing". And from start to finish this EP is a journey between Techno and Ambient full of unheard noises and grasping rhythms. In the title track the beat rides on spooky pads that flow down like lava from a volcano. The more the whipping drums come into play, the more captivating the atmosphere evolves. "Echo Place (Canyon Version)" is CVBox in pure beauty. Starting with quirky synth-sounds that seem to talk to the listener, a dubby bass driven groove takes over to unfold an adventurous Techno track in all its glory. On the flipside "Leo on LFO (Accordion Partition)" takes its time to build up into an epic Electro track that is distinguished by the acidic synth-bass and outshining strings. The collaboration with his musical soul mate Micha Freier marks the end point of the EP. "Remind 20 : 3" is a dreamy slow burner that seductively puts its arms around you after all. The cover artwork was created by photographer Felix Adler from Leipzig.

After several digital references and with great effort, we are pleased to present our first release on vinyl. With Volume 5 of the Club Constructions series we introduce Hysterics, a new project from Philip Gamble, better known as the breakout Night Slugs producer Girl Unit.

While G.U. continues to exist in a bright digital universe that stretches beyond the dancefloor, Hysterics lives in the club. Hysterics tracks are reductions of visceral percussion and bass that connect with our basic instincts.

The three cuts on this volume are the result of an experimental production processes, incorporating tape feedback, raw drums punched in manually and percussive parts that are allowed to take unusual lead roles.

The resulting recordings are intricate but highly robust rhythm trax - the oppressive EBM-tech of "Pleasuredrome" juxtaposed with a show-stopping DJ tool in "Code Switch". The tracks sound like heavy industry: pistons, valves and and exhausts pumping and hissing, hammers pounding.

But as machines they are not self-powered - the sound of human exertion is ever present: heavy breathing and gasps as each track is operated manually, man intersecting with machine in a collision of steam and sweat.

After taking us on a hellish journey through the dark corners of the human psyche on their debut EP for the freshly minted Copicat Tracs, Watkins and Almadovar return with another set of nefariously charged tracks on ultra-black wax. We're still none the wiser as to who this diabolical duo are. In fact, it's more of a mystery than ever before. They're sound is one drenched in ethyl poisons, the result of a grim pact between two old shooting buddies to be executed before the final days of the alcoholacaust. One can only imagine this gnarled pair holed up in a lodge in a remote part of the Scottish Highlands, twisted spines hunched over machines inscribed with words written in an ancient and forgotten tongue, the smell of whisky so strong it closes the throat. This new trip sees Watkins & Almadovar in a somewhat reflective mood: whether they're reflecting on an old encounter with an African Death Cult, or a visit to Boleskine House to uncover the lost writings of Crowley is anyone's guess...

Side A is a jacking, industrial burner, and if Rock N Roll is indeed the music of the Devil, lord knows who this crust belongs to. The brooding chords of the first chapter make another appearance here, underpinned by a maddening rhythm culled from the cogs of a real horse rotorvator. Side B gives us a slice of ye olde Black Bleep and traditional Samhain Acid. Funk for cunts that operates between the physical via ritualistic body popping and the third mind. What would shed further light on the meaning or origin of all this bad vibin' would be the fact that all of these tracks share the name of "Darvaza". Budding geographers out there will know Darvaza as the colossal natural gas field in Turkmenistan which is also known as the "Door to Hell". While Soviet petrochemical scientists were drilling for gas there in 1971, a large area of ground collapsed beneath the drilling rig. Hazardous gases were released as a result, and to put a lid on the problem, the scientists decided to burn it all off by igniting the gas, expecting it to burn off within days. To this very day the Door to Hell is still wreathed in flame. "The pungent smell of burning sulfur pervades the area for some distance". Aye, sounds about right

Amazing release feat three remixes of Bigfire's 'General of the Universe' on the Japanese label of the same name. The A-side is courtesy of none other than Robert Armani in full Chicago-style jackin' effect, it's a bomb people, be warned!! Flip then for deeper but still epic remixes from Hawkinson and Beroshima, all packaged in a really cool full-colour picture sleeve and everything adds up to a record that is not to be missed.

Although this is perhaps Halocyan's most experimental release to date, the tracks all retain a dance sensibility. Title track 'Last' builds a fantastical techno narrative over beds of cold, precisely controlled reverb and insistent, crucially positioned percussion. A small set of sounds lock deftly into place in various formations, expertly building tension and intrigue as they coalesce into a surpsingly expressive journey. Al Tourettes and Appleblim take the original and add some colorful techno bounce to their remix, twisting the original's stern bassline into something more fluid and fun. B-side 'Dumb' operates on little more than a strict, pummeling 4/4 beat and subtle, metallic harmonies to create a deranged and acerbic techno lobotomy, with a pitched-down, barely decipherable voice lording over the proceedings. Steve Moore (of L.I.E.S., Zombi) takes 'Dumb' and ramps up the darkness, crafting a John Carpenter worthy atmosphere of terror, paranoia, and dread, custom-tailored for the dancefloor.

Sam Walton is a 22 year old producer from Manchester who came to Hyperdub after feeding them demo tracks, and started off in 2011 with the 'Walton EP', the first of three EPs for the label. Since then he's honed and developed his music into 'Beyond', finding a really fresh and subtle intersection between music that doesn't seem to naturally fit together, old eski grime, funky and Detroit house and techno but with smudged edges and a colourful industrial sound palette that gives a real richness to his productions. Walton's music is never sombre or angry, but is about subtle combinations; there is an appealing, soulful sensuality to his beautifully crafted and joyous music. He says of the album 'I just wanted there to be a contrast between bright and dark, I didn't want to stick to a specific genre either. Just a vibe.' Walton's young enough to hear older elements of dance music with fresh ears - a recent Hacienda reunion was an ear opener, hearing the stripped back power of acid house for the first time influenced some of the music on 'Beyond', in the way that a handful of contrasting elements can be placed together to create an exciting whole. Tracks like 'Need To Feel' find this idea in action, this catholic but balanced take on production working in effect, with funky basslines, garage woodblocks and ambient atmospherics. On 'Can't You See', grimey kicks and claps are pitched against swooning, trancey strings, and 'Every Night's tough grimey synth horns work in tune with echoed guitar licks and pumping kicks. Or check the way the clanking metallic drums and 3D atmosphere of 'You And Me' contrast with warped diva giggles. By contrast, a tune like 'Memories' will wrongfoot you with a long, detailed intro before breaking into a track that cuts between old school grime and bitter sweet house stabs, as will 'Grit's whipping snares, strange rotating bleeps and snaking bassline. 'Frisbee' again works with a grime pallette, a sparse, inventive soundscape of huge car door slams, weird squeaks and crackles, and a four note melody, while 'City Of God's reverb laden, depressed beatlessness evokes a feel somewhere between grime and dubstep. Alternately recalling familiar dance music but created with freshness and enthusiasm, Walton's vision is a welcome and highly enjoyable mutation.

Sui Generis's sound is born from a love of underground London basement raves such as Jaded at (Cable) and Fuse (93 Feet East).
His music draws as much inspiration from those hedonistic parties as it draws from the early foundations of soulful Chicago house
music and dark, techno influences from Detroit.
Sui is receiving early support from key figures such as Jackmaster (Nmbrs), Eats Everything, B Traits (Radio 1), Breach (Naked
Naked), Dusky (Schl Rcrds) and Route 94, whom he has been collaborating with on projects that are forthcoming on Mansion Music.
Skream recently included a number of Sui Generis tracks in his recent Miami mix compilation together with house veteran Pete Tong
on Defected Records.

Berlin resident Call Super (aka JR Seaton) provides the debut release on the Houndstooth label with his four track EP, The Present Tense. On the A-side  Threshing Floor pivots on the heavy 4x4 kick, with Seaton cloaking it with swathes of sound that shimmer and pulse  and yet  Leosengor is almost the antithesis of that approach; all bubbles of synthesizer, stuttering stop/start drum patterns and woozing melodies that melt through the spaces the drums create. In fact, the whole EP is a multitude of approaches with  Siglo Gray Vision and  No City Of Choice on the B-side further fleshing out the Call Super arsenal with morphing drones and sprawling dial tones on the former, and huge chunky drum textures prevailing on the EP closer.

Excursions 002 sees unknown London producer Tum Hulbruk make his debut with these two dark, stripped back cuts of raw mutant techno. Intricate sampling, complex rhythms, and an awareness of space suggest a maturity beyond his years and a producer who has already developed his own unique sound.

After years sound tracking the dancehalls of Bristol via their considered selections as DJs, brotherly pair The Kelly Twins add label bosses to their CVs with the establishment of Happy Skull. The label kick offs in illustrious fashion with a collaborative release between two of Bristol's most interesting producers, Kowton and Hyetal. Adopting the name Systems Of Desire, the pair worked on a track together, before going off to produce their own individual versions entitled "Control" and "Consumption"; the results are exactly the intriguing cross between Kowton's raw, crunchy, grime influenced techno and Hyetal's glistening synth work you would imagine.

A new Warm Sounds... nothing to add... don't sleep!

Glasgow based imprint Tribal Pulse launches this July with 'Temujin' by Boom Merchant,
backed with a remix from Pole Folder.
Boom Merchant was born in Ireland, raised in Spain and now resides in Glasgow, the hometown of
Tribal Pulse. Merchant grew up on a diet of Detroit Techno, House and generally futuristic forward
thinking sounds, which is evidently apparent in his own productions. Tribal Pulse therefore is a fitting
home for this new release, as the label sets out to deliver deep, pulsating electronic rhythms
designed for the dance floor.
The release kicks off with the original of 'Temujin', the track features warbling Tuvan throat singing
sounds, broken 909 style rhythms and progressive melodies. Acidulant steps up next with a raw,
penetrating interpretation of 'Temujin', employing dark bass tones, organic rolling percussion and
tension building strings. The track takes on the form of analogue acid house with some contemporary
sprinklings.
Last up to close the release is Pole Folder's rework of 'Temujin', the Bedrock artist takes things deep
with marimba style melodies, crunchy digital drums and bubbling atmospherics.

"Sundog" by french producer Johannes Regnier was a massive but bloody underrated track this summer - when i heard it recently at the Innervisions-party on the Berghain-floor i felt confirmed about this dude's big potential. Meanwhile he moved from Paris to Berlin and his first studio in town was located in a street called Wiesenweg. There Johannes met Alexander Antonakis, an excellent and well known DJ from Frankfurt for some sessions - the result you can hear on this "Wiesenweg EP": Even deeper but with the same forcing elegance. "You can't buy happiness" is a detroitish chord-monster with an amazing vocal-loop as main theme. A true jam for the peak time. "Wiesenweg" slips more under the surface while catching you with beautiful strings and a balearic synth in best "Sueno Latino"-tradition. I still love the break after a thousand hearings, emotive! "Deep Voices" is a slow and pure house tune for all 909-lovers out there. In a stoic manner it goes on and on and you wish it will never stop. More is less! Since "Wiesenweg" would be called in english literally something like "meadows way" it is obvious that THC 02 comes in a nice green sleeve and extra thick green wax - a special postcard included. Enjoy summer in wintertime ...

Rhein-Main based tag team Diggler & Franksen go back some way in the history of Frankfurt's electronic scene. Around 2000 Diggler honed his reputation as a master of dubby techno for a whole decade. His early tracks like 'Boogiemonster' are blueprints of cool. Period. Today he is still rollin' out crisp and deep techhouse beats that combine musical finesse, compositional tension and club appeal. Having released about six albums and countless tracks n remixes for labels from Raum...Musik to Cocoon and from Resopal to Level Non Zero, Diggler is still on the hunt for the proper dose of beat hypnosis.
