We had an inkling that it wouldn't be long before Marquis Hawkes reared his mysterious ass again. Even after the success of his last drop for DABJ we're no closer to finding out the real identity of this cheeky funkmonger. He's probably holed up in his caravan right now, taking massive bong hits, fingering his 808 and having a good old laugh at us all. And if he isn't doing that then he's most certainly at the club, double-fisted with two fine single malts and draped in wimmin, while the DJ drops his shit. "Higher Forces at Work" is a solid entry in what is rapidly becoming a signature sound: raw ghetto elements mixed with deep and melodic arrangements. The rolling funk of "Automatic" is the most minimal Hawkes production yet but we're not talking no Teutonic functionalism here, just a stripped-back deep-bass bliss teetering on the brink of a disco meltdown that never quite happens. Title track "Higher Forces" and "Divine Intervention" are the best examples of Hawkes Ghetto inclinations here. Both have that ripping, flanged percussion that cuts dancefloors to ribbons, with "Divine Intervention" acting as a sort of acid-driven counterpart to the electronic soul of "Higher Forces". "I Want You" is almost this E.P's answer to the righteous thunder of "Sealion Woman" from the last cut. Although, the tracky punishment of the latter isn't quite present on here, Mr. Hawkes certainly knows how to wield an old-time sample in a deft fashion and the surging bass and jungle percussion of this track will take the heads to elevated levels. To cut a long story short: Marquis Hawkes delivers another hit of real, rockin' raw shit mainlined straight to tha jugular and every ounce of hype he's been graced with recently is utterly deserved.

This release will be on green vinyl with blue stamp and inlay.

Alex Cortex - Quality selection of varied tracks. But "i want you" is by far the winner here. It's classic and modern at the same time. its sound is quite upfront, but not as over compressed as the other tracks. Vocals like from Andrés, but cut-up like it was Soundhack, a soulful feel like some Moodymann track, but with fierce Vogel-style basslines. all those name dropping doesn't do it justice either. Pretty much its own thing, and getting better with every listen!

Our musical brother from the norht and Finland's finest techno export Samuli Kemppi joins ranks with BALANS. Ever since his classic 'Vangel' release on Ostgut Ton we have been huge fans of Samuli's sound. Needless to say we are very proud to have on board.

He delivers two outstanding track with the trademark Samuli sound: scifi, hypnotic spacefunk. Both tunes sound futuristic and nostalgic at the same time, with warmth, textures and industrial cold grooves fighting for the foreground. That's what we love about his music: the ambiguity. A sense of estrangement wich feels so familiar. Listening to his music makes you feel.. well.. Lost! It's the contradictions in his music that fit the BALANS glove all to well.

On remix duties we find two Dutch heavy weights hiding behind their puristic techno alter egos. First of is ROD, by some better known as Benny Rodrigues. Under this pseudonyme he has been making waves the last 2 years with releases on Klockworks, Drumcode, CLR a.o. wich have been rinsed by the biggest names on the circuit. He reworked Seeker into a bigroom DJ tool wich have the sole purpose of destroying floors when encountered. His musical companion Darko Esser put on his Tripeo mask for a subtler aproach, like can be expected from his own vinyl only releases. But make no mistake the target of his in 'Search' interpretation is the same. More hypnotic perhaps, but with the same heads on approach towards any dancefloor in mind.

Adam Jay's 'Mediastinum EP' is the product of a near death experience turned into an opportunity to create. After experiencing acute trauma to the left lung, the artist was diagnosed with pneumomediastinum, The sounds featured in the production of this record were recorded in the Intensive Care Unit at Community East Hospital in Indianapolis.

'Inward' is a raw, stripped down stomper filled with anxiety and a pace of purpose.
The A2 track, 'Terrible Precision' brings an atmosphere of tension and darkness that drives the EP forward.
The synth groove of 'Chatter' sits atop the recordings of medical monitoring equipment intended to alarm the listener. The unsettling dischord created is contrasted by a powerful low end groove.
'Concert Of The Machines' comes with an addictive half time broken beat groove. The warm, effected electric piano work plays off more alert sounds from the hospital room creating a chilled out vibe that is ideal for closing a set.

No need to introduce Jonas Kopp anymore. The Argentinian made his Curle debut in 2008 and has been a regular guest with releases and remixes ever since. 'Desire' will be his third full EP on the label. Next to that Jonas Kopp already released on Spectral Sound, Ostgut Ton, Stroboscopic Artefacts and DJ Deep's Deeply Rooted House label. And of course on his own Traut and Manzel imprints.
The smooth title track will definitely appeal to the fans of Deliric (Curle 020). 'Reject' and 'Chaos' are both more straight forward techno outings. Pick your favourite!

Le Carousel is the new band project from acclaimed Belfast DJ/recording artist Phil Kieran. For 'Le Carousel' Kieran assembled some of Ireland's finest musicians, writing most of the album while staying in Donegal on the remote west coast. With this debut outing on Hotflush Recordings
scheduled for March, 2013 is set to be yet another

Ukrainian techno: can sound as a strange mistake, but it's not!
Mays started spinning back in 1998 and from that time has built his profile as one of the most respected DJs from the Eastern block. Being the resident of the famous Kazantip festival and the radio host for more than ten years, he is cited to be the techno DJ #1 in Ukraine.
Yan Cook started his solo career in 2011 after a tryout period under Eigenes Rezept moniker. His recognizable sound helped him to grab attention of the international techno community in a very short period of time. Now Yan is growing even faster mixing dub techno with hard industrial sounds.
Woo York is the Kievian duo performing only live techno sets using a bunch of drum-machines and controllers. They gained huge support from techno scene last year with their uncompromising and really unique sound filled with strange effects and straightforward grooves.
Exploit is responsible for the vinyl breakthrough of the ukrainian sound. Back in the late 2000's his music was fast and pumping. Those were the times of his Odessa Soundfreaks project pushing the boundaries between melodic and hardgroove techno. Now when his sound has matured he discovers new horizons for his music combining deep house and detroit techno with sinister techno grooves.
The Ukrainian techno heads gather all their experience and mix their visions on this unique collaborative EP. What we have got on the output is something unique called "Mutual Exceptions".

Combining and mutating the sounds of UK garage, house, jungle, dubstep and techno, Tom Edwards, Matt Benyayer and Carlo Anderson - aka Dark Sky - have most definitely found their sound. Keeping things cerebral and rolling, the trio have already released on quality imprints such as 50 Weapons, Blunted Robots, Pictures Music and Black Acre, remixed Kelis, The XX, Ben Westbeech and many more, gaining airplay and support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Modeselector and Jamie XX along the way. Killer dancefloor moves that cut right through typical musical boundaries. 'Double U' takes a more playful stance than the serious tones of 'Confunktion'. The rhythm builds with mischievous intent, bleeping, popping like a bongo drum full of electronic popping corn! Pounding sub bass pulls everything into order allowing the groove to swing about with cheerful swagger. Totally unique, excellent party music.

In anticipation of his forth-coming solo album, Aesthetic Audio's Keith Worthy fathoms the worlds between the deep house and techno genres on his newest release 'Lamar'. This double-sided banger methodically blurs raw abstract intensions with melodic chord play and the result is a frenzy of purpose & deep bliss.

Occupying the full A-side 'Moon' is an epic of a track. Clocking in at just under 11 minutes, 'Moon' combines all the elements of Iori's productions that we've come to know and love; carefully sculpted (almost tribal) drum patterns, a seriously bottom heavy throbbing bassline, percussive fx throughout, subtle chords and even a pinch of acid. A monstrously heavy track that craves loud soundsystems.
Flip over for 'Spread', which contrasts brilliantly to the happenings of the A-side. Whereas 'Moon' is bolshy and gung ho, 'Spread' showcases subtler more restrained side to Iori's character. Again we're treated to intricate drum work, this time though, it's all about the airy synths, gently pulsating bassline and the groove that captivates you from the off. This eleven minute journey just ain't long enough...

Berlin's Todd Bodine is a fine representation of the underground music culture that has grown out of the city since the fall of the Wall: gaining a residency at historical Tresor Club, he went on to become one of the most sought after German djs to perform around the globe, establishing himself as a respected producer with releases on labels such as Tresor's own, Morris Audio and lately Highgrade Records. His most recent electronic laptop symphony called "Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra" with fellow Highgrade producers and friends, where he acted as conceptual conductor and key musician, led him to produce more and more sophisticated works. Here on Memento we find him experimenting with the most visionary side of electronic music, combining the textures of subtle downtempo with the beats and grooves of the rockiest tech house, veering toward the dreamiest twisted lullabies and the gloomiest house melodies. "Flashback"'s opening dusky atmospheres and galloping percussions pave the way to a bubbly synth progression and to a random distorted break that for a brief moment only halts the ongoing pulsating rhythm. "Melancholiebe"'s slower and deeper mood comes straight out of the early hours of PanoramaBar, where the sunlight barely slips through from the outside world while soft analogue chords play in the background. Ilario Alicante's take on this track makes it more muscular and techno, still retaining the spaced out vibe and the floating-on-air feeling, sending the listener way up there where reality and obscurity collide.

The second part of the two part series featuring new tracks by Developer, Ascion and new rising talent Elyas. Excision X Rated: The Remixes
In October 2011 Canadian DJ and producer Excision cemented his position at the forefront of the burgeoning dubstep movement in North America with the release of his masterfully crafted debut album X Rated on Mau5trap. Dissecting an eclectic array of influences over the course of the ten tracks that make up X Rated, its influences stretch from drum and bass to hip hop, metal to electro, always remaining both unique and progressive.

Anyone familiar with techno will have almost certainly know who The Advent is. The Advent first started out as a duo (Cisco Ferreira & Colin McBean) producing music back in 1990 but weren't known as The Advent until they released their first track in 1994. Having a solid history creating & producing music with & for some of the giants of techno including Derrick May, Jay Denham & Kevin Saunderson & releasing tracks previously on prestigious labels such as FFRR amongst others, Cisco Ferreira continues to produce some of the best techno ever known & this ep is no exception. Mixworks are proud to announce the release of D Sector by The Advent.
D Sector (the main mix) is a solid tech/house track that delivers sonic vibes which pierce the ears with serious sonic soul. The track has a great melodic feel, but coupled with some serious beats & a deep dubby synth, it cleverly balances the lighter melodic sounds with darker harmonics creating a perfect blend of sound & two different styles of music & flows seamlessly. The battle between light & dark can be clearly heard with the light becoming gloriously triumphant. Only a genius can pull this off & Cisco does this effortlessly.
D Sector Jason Fernandes Remix V3 is much more minimal & pared down than the original making it a totally different experience sonically. The track has a much darker feel, with a pounding bassline & a driving beat. Strange keyboards lend a delicious air of the more sinister side of techno, but there is still an undercurrent of warmth at play here. You can feel the light trying to escape from the dark & subtly so while calling to your inner voice.
The Advent & Industrialyzer SubSonic Remix is much funkier in style with more emphasis on the beats & a wonderfully infectious bass. It is deep, dark & ever so sexy with a vocal gasp that adds to the seductive flavour of this track & a hypnotic rhythm that keeps your attention centred throughout as it progresses further & deeper & penetrates your soul. This track smoulders & sensually speaking is a pure aural pleasure.

An original electronic disciple hailing from New York, Sandwell District's David Sumner a.k.a Function presents his debut album 'Incubation' on Ostgut Ton. Like the soundtrack to a suspenseful Techno-thriller, or retro-futurist Sci-Fi tale, it's a modern sound journey heavy on imagery. Over nine tracks we are guided through the varying moods and scenes of Function's musical temperament. Be it through writhing layered club tracks, soaring string-led atmospheres, or melodic pieces founded on classic electronic traditions, 'Incubation' marks a new level of maturity for the Berlin-based producer. What begins as a lush and blossoming lesson in ambient synth arrangements, with the beautiful arpeggios and waveforms of 'Voiceprint', quickly drops off the apex and into the depths of Function's filtering acid world as 'Against The Wall' unfolds. This metallic, acidic concept is explored further too, in the final moments of the album with the chilling 'Psychic Warfare'. A spiraling, organic surge of warm synth tones and other-worldly arpeggios unravels itself in 'Counterpoint', acting as an early bridge between some of the drum-led studies that follow. And thus, the pressure increases. 'Modifier' presents itself with tight, snaking drum patterns and tense, late 90s kinetic warehouse energy. Opening a path into an alternate, yet not too distant dimension then, 'Incubation (Ritual)' takes form; it's haunting and graceful waves of synths continue the Sci-Fi theme, while the tough modulating bass undercurrent reminds us of Function's big-room Techno appeal. The final moments of 'Incubation (Ritual)' glide effortlessly into the album version of 'Inter', where ethereal melodies and snippets of spoken word surround a classic IDM-Deep-House core. 'Voiceprint' returns as a (Reprise) version, in what could become the crossover club track of the year. Coming on like a classic R&S or Soma release circa '95, the undulating synths are now caught in a rapturous groove, urged on by a perfect 909 drum pattern and forward pushing, precise arrangement. Taking the minimalistic, hypnotising mantra of previous Function 12''s like 'Isolation' or 'Burn' to another level, 'Psychic Warfare' brings the voyage to a a close, it's overlapping, ebbing metallic acid tones inducing equal measures of tension and elation. In the CD version of the album, 'Gradient I' concludes the voyage. Earthy, modulating bass and 808 patterns merge as a cyclic, audio resolution occurs. With a final, intense atmospheric wash we find ourselves re-born, out in the ether, having witnessed an event of great weight and substance. In the final mixing stages of the album Function brought the material to cult engineer and producer Tobias Freund (NSI). Since 1980, working with the legendary Frank Farian, Freund's skills helped bring acts like the controversial Grammy award-winning Milli Vanilli to fame, and he would pioneer early European Techno and Electronica through his Sieg Über Die Sonne project (with Dandy Jack). Function chose Tobias to do his work justice, and add his years of mix experience to this ambitious, succinct and artistic album. Bound in mysticism, forged through experience, 'Incubation' is a bold and powerful album from one of modern Techno's key players. Inclined to hold back, rather than release too much, Function has let his sound develop and mature, fusing analog synths and drums with modern production techniques to create something unique and timeless.

To celebrate the 5th birthday of Skryptom we decided to propose a best of the label in 13 tracks for 13 releases and an exclusive selection of fine tunes to make 3 various EP with all the skryptom artists and friends. For this second EP there are 3 solo tracks and one from a duo. It's hard to believe, but somehow we seem to be living in a time leap... A time leap that already brings us the eighth (!) edition of the Cocoon in-house Mix-CD series. And it's almost as if the first editions have just been released - especially if you listen to them from a today's point of view -, as the tracks of the first Cocoon Recordings Mix-CDs appear very contemporary even in 2013, and not at all outdated, let alone eight years old. Of course, this is above all praise from within our own ranks, but we would like to claim proudly that Cocoon Recordings still manages to present Techno and Tech-House in a timeless look, against all odds. And that whets our appetite for a new edition of this CD series! Just as with its predecessor, Chris Tietjen was responsible for selecting and mixing the tracks, being deeply ingrained in Cocoon since his teenage days. And even more than with its predecessors, Tietjen manages to draw a big line and to reconcile the sometimes very heterogenous Cocoon Recordings releases. 'The Green Series' is the continuing art and music project from Bleep.com, GiveUpArt, and photographer Shaun Bloodworth. The project will be a series of tracks exploring techno music released on limited 12" with deluxe art prints as well as on digital formats

The double A-side single features the pairing of Objekt and Cosmin TRG and brings you raw techno. Both tracks were mastered by Rashad at Dubplates and Mastering, Berlin.

OE 02 comes from Samaan. Another clever techno release with emphasis on quality and structure and not forgetting the input from Detroit dub merchant Luke Hess. 'Terminator Reserve' is dominated by a thick bass line, razor sharp percussion, devastating Juno stabs and with tonnes of analogue warmth coming from its abyssal depths. The Luke Hess remix provides the deep qualities of the original however its much more repetitive in its nature making it truly hypnotic and one you cannot help but get completely lost in. On the B side 'Mediator' is rough and ready...booming kicks, dynamic bass shifts accompanied by the right amount of snare and filter inputs make this one of the toughest on the release not forgetting that its split down the middle with a heavy 303 bleed. Highly recommended!!! 'Stilled' runs off in the opposite direction to the other track it shares the B with as its laden with Detroit influenced floating chords and percussion.

Sometimes memories and emotions are melted together, giving the right feeling to realize tracks with few elements that communicate.
That's the case of Emanuele Pertoldi, class 1991, a guy that loves music before all the other things. A strong passion, a bunch of analog gear and a lot of emotions let him to create tracks that reflects how he feels when he produces those tunes.
He started Evasion Room Records together with his friend Riccardo D'Agostini to feel free to express their music without limits.
This ep reflects the desire to escape from a mentally locked reality to go a place where people lives without prejudice, and the innovative remix by Iori accentuates this vision.
Music doesn't need words to be expressive at all, music could transmit feelings only with sounds and spontaneous sequences.

Berlin based DJ, producer and label owner Oliver Deutschmann has announced his debut album, 'Out of the Dark', will be released on vidab records in March 2013.
As a forerunner to the album, vidab present three remixes of tracks from the album from the vidab family. 
Label co-owner Stephan Hill presents his deep reduction of 'Siem Reap', vidab regular and Oliver's Berlin studio partner Tomas Svensson reworks 'Space Desert' in a dramatic deep house version, and promising Milan exports Hiver give their all to 'Sadness Descends'.

Having completed a landmark year in 2011 with the labels 15 Year anniversary celebrations (including a 12-date club tour and 28 track various artist compilation), Drumcode gets back to the future in 2012 with a busy schedule of releases. Followers of Drumcode over recent times will recognize some familiar names within the schedule with projects from Adam Beyer & Joseph Capriati, Alan Fitzpatrick, Kaiserdisco and Ben Sims; whose 'Smoke & Mirrors' album was a 2011 highlight for Drumcode and for many others within the techno scene.

Drumcode's DC Ltd series is home to the seminal label's more underground material. An outlet for the type of unfussy, primal music that has always been the underlying foundation of techno, but separated from the main brand in a way that is meant to highlight the continued importance of the true underground within a techno scene that has become less defined by it's roots and more concerned with commercial success. Releasing infrequently and only available on limited edition vinyl, DC Ltd will feature contributions from Drumcode's roster of artists
alongside new signings and re-issues of never-before-on-vinyl Drumcode tracks.

For the next installment in the DC Ltd series, Drumcode present a three-track EP from the Spanish pairing of Psyk and Alberto Pascual; both increasingly familiar names on the circuit thanks to their work for Plus 8, Figure, AnalyticTrail and Sleaze. Ascent' leads off the EP with what is sure to prove to be a popular combination of upbeat old-school keys and resolute marching beats. Descent' switches things up, treading heavily through a melancholic soundscape of mechanical stabs and harmonic pads. Finally, 'Permanent' dishes up a solid
rhythm track interspersed with distinct rising tones phasing in and out of the mix.

Exercise One's newest EP is the result of happy jam sessions in the studio with a couple of their dear Canadian buddies. Exercise One have been concentrating on their new all hardware, no computer live show over the past half year - with performances at Panorama Bar, Cabaret and Le Showcase - and releases on Cocoon and their own Exone label. Mathew Jonson is responsible for some of the best techno records of the early 21st century, on his own, with his brother Nathan as Midnight Operator and with his constant conspirators The Mole, Tyger Dulha and Danuel Tate as Cobblestone Jazz, as well as running the Wagon Repair label. Leonard Flohen is fond of BBQ, moose and music - in no particular order. He's a distant cousin of that old rogue Hugh Betcha and if you ever were to meet them you'd see that they share a certain twinkle in their eye. In 'Lost forever in a happy crowd' Exercise One team up with Mathew Jonson, for a release that illuminates the key elements of both the producers sound. Both artists are at home pressing record at the start of a long relaxed daytime jam, then editing and tweaking the live take for a final flowing mix. It's deep, it's melodic, it's a little twisted in parts and it makes us want to wiggle it - just like the guys themselves. 'Blind Trapeze' is a classic Exercise One techno journey with a boisterous rocky bassline and an extra shake of darkness with Leonard's vocals looming over the mix. And there's a dub bonus, as a bonus.

Kieth Kemp endures the elements and ailments of an ever changing electronic world. He is an original hero with a smooth technique that reflects an instinctual understanding of sound and soul. Kieth represents a talent and spirit that does not falter no matter how strange a circumstance can get. He follows his own path to relavence. I am proud to welcome kieth to the cryovac machine.

The new year starts for Raum with the second single by two of our key artists teaming up again, namely Christian Burkhardt and Sascha Dive. The a side is produced by Sascha alone and is definately standing out from his more house related productions of the last months. "Halfway" is a true peak time monster that already got deck sharks nervous throughout the end of last summer in a few sets of Dj's like Ricardo Villalobos or Raresh for example just to name the most important ones. "Bogota" on the b side is produced by Christian and Sascha together and also this tune is showing it's real magic on a bigger floor. We think this is a good combination and as always we hope you enjoy our music and we wish you a happy and healthy 2013.

After releasing their Spark Plug EP on Synewave in 2010, Tim Grothe and Heron decided to build up a new label, focused on their own works.
Starting with the so called Spark Plug EP that has been released on Damon Wild's imprint digital only, this three tracker is coming back on vinyl, re-edited and re-mastered by the masterminds from Dubplates&Mastering.

Through The Window is the new album by Prurient, his first for Blackest Ever Black. It is, in a sense, both the conclusion and the climax of the journey that Dominick Fernow began with 2011's Many Jewels Surround The Crown 7" and continued with that year's Bermuda Drain LP and Time's Arrow EP. It was recorded before the Hospital Productions founder's move to Los Angeles, but in tone, subject matter and scale it firmly anticipates his current stint navigating the desert city's "hall of mirrors, sycophants, fair-weather friends and social vampires." The three pieces featured on Through The Window, including the 18-minute title track, also represent the ultimate expression of Fernow's affection for European techno forms, and his ability to apply them to his own uniquely lacerating purpose. Unlike his claustrophobic, inward-looking recordings as Vatican Shadow, this material is widescreen, open, expansive. Nonetheless the goal is exorcism and self-knowledge, not ecstasy. Through The Window is, at bottom, a work of true SM electronics. Music to listen to at night, in the hills, watching as headlights approach.

After the incredible success of Agaric's 'Who Made Up The Rules' , we come to you with this amazing remix EP. On the A side Josh Wink is onboard to remix the title track 'Who Made Up The Rules'. The first release on Audio Culture of 2013 comes courtesy of relative newcomer Nphonix.We say relative because the Moscow born and bred Nphonix has a string of releases under his belt on acclaimed labels in the drum n' bass genre. As of late he has been experimenting with slower tempos and this is his first offering around the 130bpm mark. The EP showcases Nphonix' diversity as a producer with 5 distinctly different tracks, touching on house, techno and electro which all share his love for dense and intense production.

Audio Assault 42 sees the long awaited return of label-owner Radial, who after his heavily supported material on labels such as Numb, Token, Mote-Evolver, Perc Trax and Dole-Gate, delivers the goods once again with an impressive release which has quality written all over it. Besides the two original tracks 'Caveman' and 'Vandal', which both have the well-known distinctive and subtile Radial characteristics, there's also a remix by Sawf, known for his excellent work on Perc Trax and Audio Assault co-owner Bas Mooy, who has had a very productive year so far.

A-side is a dark tech-bass track. What does really make it stand out is that driving analog bassline chord: you can easily imagine yourself dancing your ass off to it at some obscure warehouse party. B-side is a lighter affair with dubby atmospheric chords and pitch shifted vocal cuts.

Bad Cop Bad Cop are underground veteran Alex Cortex (XX Badcop) and glam-tech-hero Lopazz (ZZ Badcop), both well-established producers and performers for many years with top-credentials on smaller and bigger imprints alike. So different they are in their respective solo-projects, so indistinguishably they melt their unique visions into one flow of effervescent creativity when they hit the studio or stage together.
Bad Cop Bad Cop's music is deeply rooted in early to mid-nineties techno, house, and electronica but at the same time peeps through wormholes into the future. Their music encompasses many styles beyond electronic music without ever losing its focus on the dancefloor. Driving, roaring, epic, and cosmic are all apt descriptions of their sound, but so would be jacking, funny, surreal and -above all- alien. A typical trip to Bad-Cop-Land is a full on crash through a psychedelic wall of sound that has to be experienced rather than understood.
Celia Green once wrote 'astonishment is the only realistic emotion'. When listening to one of Bad Cop Bad Cop's records or seeing them in concert be prepared for a good package of that, as they have made it their trademark to surprise their audiences and to lure them into otherworldly and mind-bending audio-stories.

You Are Eternity' is the third album to be released on Stroboscopic Artefacts and comes from two of the minds who have shaped the label since its earliest days: Dadub. Recorded over a period of two years, but containing fragments and ideas that stretch back a decade 'You Are Eternity' has been mixed together to form a continuous piece rather than twelve discreet tracks. The effect An immersive journey that encompasses the descriptors brutal, ferocious, ambient and aqueous. The album title hints at the almost spiritual origins of the album, Dadub's search for music that goes further, that spreads away from the confines of the time and place in which we find ourselves, music that seeps into the cavern of the eternal. Tucked into 'Vibration', the very first track, is a sample of the Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti. He leans close and says: Music is a spiritual gift, and those who misuse it, die young. Sage words. ROD makes a welcome return to Soma Records for his first solo EP since he lent his hand to two powerful new school updates of Slam classic 'Positive Education'. The Buikgrep EP delivers two jacking Techno monsters, delivered in ROD's unique style. Think dark warehouses, strobe lights and fist pumps!

Buikgrep kicks off the EP as a thunderous kick drum bumps its way over a syncopated hi-hat pattern while slowly mutated stabs work their way in over the track. Slowing in pace to the break where the drums fire back with full force, unrelenting to the end of the track. ROD has definitely designed this one for the dance floors.

Second track Mission at first feels more on a house tip with a lighter sounding stab prevalent from the get go. Don't let this fool you however as this track it just as jacking as the previous. The synth opens up into a typical ROD hypnotic loop whilst the drums once again rattle around with total ferocity!

ROD is firmly placing himself in the top tier of the new school generation of Techno producers and these two dance floor bomb are testament to someone who has immersed themselves in dance music for well over a decade.
