"The Nippon Express" is a series of two releases by wellknown artists from JAPAN. release one comes from IMUGEM ORIHASAM (Sistrum Recordings, New Kanada, Steadfast) with a harder interpretation of acidic dub techno.

Blawan & Pariah join forces again under their Karenn guise for the fourth installment on Works The Long Nights. 6 tracks of forward thinking Techno and Electro cut loud by Matt Colton at Air Studio's and spread over 2 180gm slabs of vinyl.
This release also comes with a full sleeve.

'The Green Series' is a brand new project from Bleep.com, GiveUpArt, and photographer Shaun Bloodworth. The project will be a series of tracks exploring techno music released on limited 12" as well as on digital formats.

The first 12" is entitled "BLPGRN001"- the double A-side single features the pairing of Karenn (a.k.a. Blawan and Pariah) and The Analogue Cops (a.k.a. Marieu and Lucretio) to supply us with raw and unadulterated techno. Mastered by Rashad at Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.

Lucy made his debut on Curle in 2007 together with Rone. Last year he did some great remix work for our Darko Esser release, but we're really happy to have the Stroboscopic Artefacts boss back now with a new track. On remix duties someone who broke through on R&S in 2010, but in the meantime also started a label (Works The Long Nights) and a project (Karenn) with his good friend Blawan: Pariah. Once more CLR pays respect to the intriguing music on MOTOR´s recent 'Man Made Machine' album and releases another exiting remix package. This time the featured vocalist is none other than legendary Nitzer Ebb´s lead singer Douglas McCarthy, definitely a great honor and joyful challenge for the artists in charge of the remixes. On the A side of number three in this series of limited edition picture discs, a deep, hypnotic and uncompromising version of MOTOR feat. Douglas McCarthy 'The Knife' by Brian Sanhaji slowly unfolds over the time-span of ten and a half minutes. The acclaimed live artist once more proves that he is not only a skilled producer of original tracks, but that he can also do an equally accurate job on other artists´ music and vocals. The usual sonic brilliance of Brian Sanahji´s productions is something we already take for granted when a track of this mastering expert leaves his studio, and he surely lives up to the high expectations again. The B side of the vinyl contains a faster, pleasantly driving take on the MOTOR track and shows at least two of producer Peter van Hoesen´s biggest talents. On the one hand he is known for his ability to combine the best of many musical worlds and on the other hand he can reliably deliver what has been called 'straight-up dancefloor jackin´ techno". The treatment of the vocals is excellent, and in spite of the raw power of the track, it adds an almost mesmerizing vibe. The Berlin based sound designer from Brussels has definitely left a recognizable handwriting on this remarkable production.

Techno King, Phil Kieran, is back once again this time he is concentrating on his debut Vinyl release on Phil Kieran Recording, with his vinyl re-release of his skyhook project.

His high productivity led him to look forward to the project he has been wanting to put to bed for a number of years - Skyhook. Skyhook gained support form the Techno Elite with Sven Vath & Richie Hawtin using it as a weapon of choice for a number of years other less likely supporters included Deadmau5 who has been using skyhook in his sets for years.

Originally no remixes of the chart smasher were made despite huge interest and requests from various people to rework the track, with the lack of a label to distribute them being cited as the main reason.

But finally, this demon was put to bed and the gauntlet was picked up by Jesper Dalhback & Adam Beyer, Ricardo Tobar, Scuba & SCB and Green Velvet.

Kieran says 'When you approach something like this you ask people to get involved and hope they do too, with this one I was amazed that everyone I wanted signed up, which made this very easy'.

These monster remixes of Skyhook rocket propelled the launch of Phil Kieran Recordings and also finally fulfilled the appetite of those who had been demanding its re-release for over three years.

Es wird immer eine Bassdrum geben, die die Menschen zum Tanzen bringt, aber sie wird nicht immer gleich klingen. Techno und House sind in einem kontinuierlichen Fluss. Es wird immer Leute geben, die feiern. Und es gibt jedes Jahr neue Kids, die in die Szene eintauchen, hungrig nach Vergnügen, Schönheit, Ekstase - hungrig nach dem Leben! In den letzten Jahren hat sich Ibiza zu einem der Zentren moderner elektronischer Tanzmusik entwickelt, und eine Schlüsselfigur dabei ist zweifelsohne Sven Väth. Die Mittelmeerinsel und er haben es zusammen schon weit gebracht. Bereits als Jugendlicher erlebte er die flamboyante Atmosphäre des Nachtlebens auf der Insel und wurde in Dimensionen des Vergnügens katapultiert, wie er sie in seiner Heimatstadt Frankfurt so noch nicht gesehen hatte. 1999 entschied sich Väth, etwas von der Energie und Inspiration, die er von der felsigen Insel mit dieser einzigartigen Atmosphäre bekommen hatte, zurückzugeben. Immer den Blick auf qualitativ hochwertige Musik gerichtet, hat Väth eine neue Art der Partyerfahrung etabliert, indem er eine Reihe passionierter Musiker und Aktivisten um sich geschart hat - und dieses Cocoon-Ibiza-Abenteuer findet im Jahr 2012 bereits zum (aM) CD 1-13 Mal statt! Als Zeremonienmeister lädt sich Sven Väth immer einen Mix aus langjährigen Begleitern und aufstrebenden Talenten ein, als DJ wiederum scannt er sich mit schlafwandlerischer Sicherheit durch eine riesige Menge neuer Musik. Er hat dabei schon so manchen akustischen Schatz ausgegraben und diesem in der von ihm geschaffenen perfekten Umgebung zu voller Entfaltung seines Potentials verholfen.

Die (aM) CD 1-13 Saison wird mit Thomas Hoffdings vielversprechender Stimme eröffnet, subtil arrangiert von Terranova. Die Grooves des jungen Produzenten wAFF sind danach stabiler und anspruchsvoller, die erotische Frauenstimme lockt uns tiefer und tiefer in den Cocoon hinein und bringt die emotionale Dichte dieses klassischen New York House so richtig zur Geltung. Aber niemand schafft es, die Kräfte das Basses so rückhaltlos zu entfesseln wie der Berliner WK7, der das Set in eine technoidere Richtung rückt. Die Tumulte auf der Tanzfläche werden dann von Margots mäanderndem Acid-Track vorweggenommen und die Tuff CIty Kids schieben das Ganze mit ihren bemerkenswert anspruchsvollen Akkorden nochmal so richtig an. Die einzigartigen Soul-Grooves von Octave One betonen danach einmal mehr die zügellose Kraft der Synthesizer und Ben Sims raffiniert-glatte Sounds bändigen die Aufregung des Hörers etwas, während mysteriöse Piepstöne über der Tanzfläche schweben, als wären sie eine akustische Skulptur. Sam Paganini geht sogar noch weiter in diese Richtung und überrascht die Tanzenden mit Sounds aus einer anderen Galaxie. An dieser Stelle käme wohl normalerweise dann der riesige Breakdown, der die Crowd vollkommen um den Verstand bringt. Nicht so bei Väth. Er verschmilzt Tracks von Sawlin, P.A.S. und Exercise One und komponiert so eine sehr kraftvolle Sequenz: sich immer weiter steigernd, gleichzeitig aber vollkommen gefasst, reicht dieser Teil weit über das hinaus, was sich mit dem normalen Vokabular des Peaktime-Techno beschreiben lässt. Schließlich löst sich das erste Set in den Tribal-Grooves von Silent Servant und der poetischen Klangwelt Ray Kajiokas auf und kommt zum Ende.

Die zweite CD beginnt völlig anders: mit süßen House-Sounds von Makam, unschuldig und doch voller Andeutungen. Die Anziehungskraft und Grazie des Dixon-Edits von Romanthonys Klassiker "The Wanderer" zieht die tanzende Menge dann vollkommen in ihren Bann, und mit &MEs irritierenden Alien-Sounds wird dann der ideale Kontrapunkt dazu gesetzt. Julien Bracht fordert die Crowd mit Broken Beats und verführt sie gleichzeitig mit einer sehnsuchtsvollen Vocal-Linie. Die Einfachheit der hypnotisierenden Melodie von Alejandro Mosso entwaffnet den Dancefloor schließlich komplett. Die mitunter etwas schwer greifbaren elektronischen Sounds eines Lawrence ergießen sich auf die Tänzer wie ein Mittsommerregen. Der rumänische Cocoon-Hero Rhadoo tritt dann etwas auf die Bremse und versetzt den Dancefloor in eine unwiderstehliche Bewegung. Wie nur wenige andere Künstler, schafft es der Frankfurter Roman Flügel, die Sprache der elektronischen Tanzmusik in Frage zu stellen. Er verschmilzt Geschichte und Zukunft der House-Musik in der humorvollsten Art und Weise, die möglich ist. Etwas weg von diesem Sound bewegt sich dann der britische Musik-Querdenker Four Tet und schlägt damit einen ziemlich anspruchsvollen Ton an. Die schweren, basslastigen Akkorde von Four Tet gehen danach in Uners vielschichtigen und transparenten House über, aus dem Sonne und Licht nur so herausstrahlen. Gathaspar vereint die unterschiedlichen Energien in einer alles durchdringenden Soundlandschaft. Soy Mustafa und John Tejada haben das letzte Wort und nehmen den Dancefloor durch ihre jenseitige Gelassenheit mit auf die Reise in eine andere Welt. Am Ende ist die Musik nur ein Teil des Abenteuers. Sven Väth schafft es, eine einzigartige Beziehung zu seiner Crowd herzustellen und führt uns durch Erfahrungen wie kein Anderer.

A special collection of tracks and remixes originally released on different labels by Tectonic Recordings founder Rob Ellis, better known as the DJ and producer Pinch. Although it may have been some time since Pinch's debut artist album 'Underwater Dancehall' ('the sound of dubstep in 2007' said Resident Advisor), he has hardly been slacking off. Aside from running Tectonic, which includes releases from 2562, Addison Groove, Author, Benga, Digital Mystikz, Distal, Flying Lotus, Joker, Loefah, Martyn, Peverelist, Photek, Roska, RSD, Scientist, Shackleton and Skream among its glowing catalogue, other labels have solidly engaged the talents of Pinch for a number of one-off releases and remixes over the past six years. This compilation brings together some of these moments, some better known than others, handpicked by Pinch and arranged chronologically by release date on labels such as Planet Mu, Six Degrees, Soul Jazz, Punch Drunk, Lot49, Tempa, 2Kings, Swamp81, and Ninja Tune. Releases for Planet Mu feature significantly, including the original deep VIP flip of one of the scene's defining tracks 'Qawwali'. This is then neatly followed by a largely overlooked remix by Pinch of the legendary Qawwali vocalist Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, running at 116bpm rather the more typical dubstep tempo of 140bpm. As the tracks progress through the time period of their release, trends form with periods of dark wobble ('Chamber Dub', 'Cave Dream') moving into more techno inspired soundscapes ('136 Trek', 'Mutate(d)') and wonky-beat orientated rhythms ('Motion Sickness', 'Attack Of The Giant Killer Robot Spiders!"). There is also space for Pinch's devastatingly effective remix of Henry & Louis 'Rise Up' as well as Emika's 'Double Edge', which was also included in his Fabriclive Mix, released earlier this year. As an extra treat, hidden in the CD somewhere is Pinch's first ever 'dubstep' track, 'Deserted Island', made available for the very first time since it was created back in 20(D) CD 4 The CD also features 'Elements', the flipside to 2010's 'Croydon House', taken from Swamp 81's vinyl-only catalogue, which will not part of the digital package. As dubstep develops and disperses into countless new sub-genres, this collection also serves as a bookend to a first chapter in Pinch's production career. Some of these titles had been reported "Missing In Action", but here they are, reporting for duty once more.

All the great artists we work with and all the great music they gave us, made us realize that KILLEKILL has be- come what we always wanted it to be: a contact point for daring artists, a platform for good music of whatever style.
Following this idea our compilation features dark and epic experimental tracks by LAKKER, DADUB and BILL YOUNGMAN, electro stompers by DJ STINGRAY, RADIOACTIVE MAN and THE ALMOST PEOPLE, techno and acid beasts by FURFRIEND, J.T.C., CASSEGRAIN & TIN MAN, SNUFF CREW and NEIL LANDSTRUMM plus a breakbeat rave superhit by AFFIE YUSUF.

The french label , KEEZAKO RECORDS presents its sixth digital/vinyl release « Vice & Versa EP », produced by Andrewvelt, the label's father.

Over the past few years, Lando Kal (a.k.a. Antaeus Roy) has undergone quite the transformation. In the process of relocating from San Francisco to New York to Berlin, the man has blossomed as an artist. Where he was once simply known as one half of Lazer Sword, he's now celebrated as an accomplished producer in his own right, having released music for the esteemed Rush Hour and Hotflush labels while also helping to pilot the Stillcold imprint. Throughout this time, he's also been considered an extended member of the Icee Hot family, a crew whose ranks include Ghosts on Tape, Shawn Reynaldo, Rollie Fingers, and Lando's Lazer Sword compatriot, Low Limit. As such, when the San Francisco-based Icee Hot made the leap from party promotion to record label earlier this year, Lando Kal was an obvious choice to join the roster, and his "Let You in the Sky" / "Help Myself" single just might be some of his best work yet.

Since installing himself in the German capital, Lando has (unsurprisingly) found himself delving deeper into the world of techno and its various sound palettes, an exploration which has properly borne fruit here. "Let You in the Sky" is a churning slice of techno colored by lilting synths, melodic stabs, and an almost robotic vocal sample. "Help Myself" takes a slightly funkier approach, layering swaying pads and sassy vocal snippets over a steady pulse before exploding with an array of claps and hi-hats about halfway through. Digital-only cut "So Correct" might be the most propulsive track on the release, its uptempo percussion and chunky rhythms carried along by an insistent piano riff.

The remixes also come correct, the first courtesy of Detroit legend Anthony Shakir. "Shake" has always been a bit of a chameleon, but his take on "Help Myself" finds him exploring a new sound, one punctuated by overdriven synths, wildly distorted vocal bits, and a wonderfully sashaying pattern of bongos. Rounding out the record is a rework from Montreal youngsters Grown Folk, who will also be at the helm of the next Icee Hot release. The duo's version of "Let You in the Sky" offers a dark, pounding undercarriage that's unique to its discography, but also bathes the tune in a warm cloud of the pair's trademark billowing synth melodies.

Denmarks dubtechno master Mikkel Metal delivering an excellent and hypnotic techno-threetracker that will prove irs value in many dj's recordbags.

Primitive World music lurks in the shadows of the weirder, experimental side of the dance floor - juddering bass, knocking kick drums, dropouts and pops and scuzzy, fizzing synth lines alongside the jacking percussion.. Think Morton Subotnick meets Marshall Jefferson - this is house musique concrete.

Deep, layered, gritty forward-thinking techno tracks as we can expect from Giegling/Staub artist Vril. 'Ztatdast' was co-produced by Zum Goldenen Schwarm. Recommended.

"Stillach" goes straight into techno terrain, adapted by two producer going to be big players in the business soon for sure: Murkus Suckut (Figure SPC/Repitch) adding drive to the rather calm original, pure in his arrangement, yet working on small details. Roberto Bosco (Wave Music / Figure SPC / Futureworld) implying the big emotions. Detroit is the inspiration here, driving chords and a formating hooter are preparing the track for all those bigger techno floors.

echno fans in New York and Chicago should be pretty aware of Jeff Derringer by now. Since launching Oktave in October 2009 with partner Kevin Gregor, the former indie rocker has turned a passion for deeper electronic music into a respected DJ and promoter career. But it is as a producer that Jeff has begun to
earn rising recognition elsewhere-throughout the US and beyond-with his records infiltrating Europe via support from the likes of Silent Servent, Chris Leibing and Peter Van Hoesen, along with many others that have graced Oktave over the years.

A trio of Perc Trax releases saw Jeff fashion hypnotic loops into deep and darkly charged techno, culminating in the stringent artillery that landed on Speedy J's Electric Deluxe label this summer (a collaboration between Jeff and LA protagonists Raiz). Now comes Situational Ethics, Jeff Derringer's first full three-track EP and most serious studio statement yet. Over 'Ambition', 'Compassion' and 'Shame'
Jeff Derringer masterfully builds tension with shamanic cyclical rhythms and punishing basslines, weaved here into potent and intoxicating concoctions from haunted beginning, viper-laden middle to heavyweight
end. Electric Deluxe bedfellow Brendon Moeller then concludes the EP with a rework of 'Shame' plied with signature Moeller-crafted sounds over a punchy, turbulent beat that only just about lifts Jeff Derringer's powerful spell.

BIG two track 12". The Skudge sound takes a twist into some brighter territory with both riding like champion horses. Their subtle loop theory remains at the core, as does the f.u.n.k... TIP!

Our man SCNTST returns with his second single, giving us a small teaser of his upcoming Album. Inspired by Jersey Club , Baltimore, Breaks and big room Techno - a 'fusioned' version of all the good elements combined is to be found in 'Premelodic Structures'. This time the Munich-based producer focuses more on track constructions than on melody as the title already implies. The first track 'Not Sure' starts with a nostalgic voice 'You show me around' and turns into expressively techno composition with chopped up, dramatic synths. 'Da Bizzy Jump' and 'Let U Go' are two perfect examples of SCNTSTs eclectic style, where he's once more experimenting with Baltimore and Jersey Club kicks together with smart electro bass cuts. You know this kid has a knack for banger and literally lives up hisc name 'SCNTST". On the other hand you'll find the 909-Kick driven track 'Rhyhtm Sticks'. The result is a trappy percussion parade armed with a heavy sub-kick making it almost to an techno anthem. Obscure basslines, quirky ideas and strange sirens making 'Phisyq' to an ultimate rhythm track. The last track on the EP 'Emotion' is basically a suite in itself. It's overloaded with funeral synths and disapearing vocals. The deep UKG rooted sub-bass fits perfectly into the hollowing ambient and renders everything to a very profound track. Following the S_W_Z_K debut album, which came out on Tresor Records before the summer, David Brown offers here further insights into the most recent developments of his new departure. Receiving the help of long-time collaborator and friend Richard Davis, the duo continues its dive into the concrete and metallic landscapes found on their eponymous LP effort.

Born and raised in the heart of the blooming Techno metropolis Frankfurt am Main, Monoloc is not an unknown face in the international electronic music scene anymore. Numerous releases on respected labels as well as countless of his characteristic dj sets have gained the far and wide travelled artist many faithful friends. His multilayered productions, which have been continuously evolving and opening up to new influences, never fail to stay true to his strong Techno roots. After years of exploring and fiddling about the sound he heard in his head since his very humble beginnings as a producer, he has now reached a point where he can finally manifest his musical vision in its wholeness. What we have in our hands, is the result of one and a half years of restless studio work and it is a big pleasure for us to announce the release of Monoloc´s debut album 'Drift' on the 2nd of November 2012 on CLR. During the production of the album Monoloc has been trying new ways, incorporating new styles, and sometimes just went with the flow without any plan or clearly defined goal. He so to speak 'drifted' away a little bit from his usual work ethics, which resulted in a quite eclectic and highly entertaining album concept. Regarding the overall sound, Monoloc sticks to his origins and moves skillfully through sonic environments consisting of deep basses, noise, dark beats and quotes from all kinds of musical genres. Studio neighbor and label-head Chris Liebing took an active part in the mix-down of the album, so that the tracks also had to pass the test of his critical ears. Just as usual, Brian Sanhaji, another studio neighbor and long-term CLR artist took care of the mastering of the tracks and polished them to their full splendor. 'Where Pail Limbs Lie' is the unexpected but none the less welcome return of British Murder Boys as BMB.
BMB is a collaboration between Anthony 'Surgeon' Child and Karl 'Regis' O'Connor. Equally notorious for their explosive live/DJ performances as for their productions, their powerful brand of industrial techno - rhythmically complex, emboldened by visceral noise and a dub sensibility derived from the Cabaret Voltaire and Mark Stewart and the Mafia school of confrontational electronics.
Individually both O'Connor and Child have been cornerstones of the British techno scene for over 18 years, hugely influential and uncompromising. For the first time with this release for Liberation Technologies BMB have recorded outside their own fiercely independent network.

For the third installment of our continuing Chronicles, we've turned again to a well-pedigreed techno master who should be no stranger to any of our listeners out there. Most recently spotted on his own Searchlights Records, Staffan Linzatti caught the attention of THEMA long ago with releases from powerhouse labels like Synewave and Stockholm LTD. His career spans seven years to-date, and his releases enjoy strong support from many of today's top techno DJs both of the newer school and the old school alike. Thus, it will be no surprise to any of our fans to find Linzatti stepping up in fighting form on our awaited third release.
We've decided to keep the five-track format intact and included two interludes for the true techno DJs out there. The spacious, deep pads of The Confirmer may uplift the listener, but the insistent, unchanging bassline and charging kicks make sure to keep the orbit stable without blasting off into outer space. Radio transmissions from an alien space station are intercepted in Before The, and his Response that opens the B-side sets an ominous, otherworldly tone that slowly drifts back to human emotion as it plays out. Another Welcome sees the welcome return of percolating, bleep-driven techno in a time-honored tradition, and it moves the EP into a heads-down charge that barrels forwards even more ferociously with closer Finite and Precious. The kind of relentless and subtle development that unfolds here is something that takes many years and many voyages to perfect, and unsurprisingly Linzatti masters it with an effortless flow until the track cuts off at its end.
Although startling, we find this an appropriate ending for our third outing on Chronicles. Meditative without being nostalgic and referencing the past without retreading it, Staffan Linzatti's Chronicle carries the series forwards with unstoppable momentum.

With his second EP for Turbo Recordings, Nautiluss pushes against the darker edges of modern techno and house, forging a sound that has earned support from supreme tastemakers like Martyn, Untold, Gesaffelstein, and Ivan Smagghe.

A-side "Depth Charge" combines sub-heavy bass, gritty metallic hi-hats, and cool sonar bleeps to create a unique atmospheric bomb - the perfect soundtrack for dancing your way to the bottom of the ocean. "Surfeit" starts with a low-end thud that sounds like an entire warehouse caving in on your head, with cold synth hooks adding a layer of moody intensity. "Sunder" gradually builds into a barely reined-in bass monster, complete with demonic vocal stabs and hypnotic pads. Finally, "Stygian" is a mid-tempo electro gem built just funky enough to hold down the coveted B2 slot.

The fourth release from Audiofugitives Recordings (AU004) comes from Jonathan Torrico and his Schizolectric project! With this EP called 'Encephalogram' it seems that Schizolectric explores the electrical activity of the brain through the sounds in six tracks that will transport you to an obscure hypnotic tunnel with atmospheric, subterranean and pure electronic soundscapes. _moonraker is a continually evolving musical conversation that longs for escape from terrestrial constraints. The human participants in this machine dialogue are Great Circles mainstay Jason Carr, and kenneth_lay, who is also one half of metasplice. _moonraker's m-type 12" features extractions from a lengthy recording session held in Philadelphia, documenting their fearless approach to live improv and hypnotic programming. The dirt, hiss and subterranean kicks of the basement aesthetic are juxtaposed with massive drones and cosmic synth movements. With the audio mastered by RJ Valeo and lacquers cut by Dietrich Schoenemann, this 12" brings the deepest sounds for the darkest lunar voyages.

The Avian label has put out some superb releases this year but here's a reminder of where it all started with a limited
edition repress of Shifted's AVN001 EP - a true lesson in stark underground techno if there ever was one...

With this second release on Blueform the artist Random Audio goes much more into mystic space post-futuristic sounds - as known from another great artist of this kind of techno. Starting with "Objects" Random Audio builds a whole scene of the slow arrival of those unidentified flying objects using a counter-rotating rhythm moving exact like the lights of these objects. "Signal to Mysterious" goes really deep into sophisticated bleeping chimes for messaging to and from an unknown life-form. This track is followed up by a matching one - "Indicator" - but this one has a much slower and darker theme with light pads plus hissing sounds and slow broken beats. Somehow different is "Calculation" - an uplifting, bubbling and pumping rhythmic stomper. And finally "The Ensemble" comes with varying percussive drums and string sounds building themselves up again and again - only broken up by a short smooth part of beeping, string and pad sounds.

Following his successful DJ mix _ground on digital-only label MINUS12, Ambivalent returns with more studio material on Minus. His Snowblind EP is a 2-track assertion of Minus' stripped-down techno bona-fides. The release follows last year's similarly driving, dancefloor-focused Plus 8 release Jackson, with a decidedly more dark tonality. A-side Snowblind lives up to its name in coldness and disorientation. With an insistent, simple hook, swirling delays and pounding drum hits, the track reaches an apex of energy, only to return to its plaintive hook and stripped, driving bass. The track has become an unmissable staple of Richie Hawtin's DJ sets, regularly played twice in a row, spiking the crowds' energy in his ENTER nights as well as massive international festival stages. B-side Witchfinder is loopier, but extends Snowblind's cold, driving analog power. With its heady melody, the track slips in and out of hypnotic repetition, varied by delays and short changes. Emulating some of Ambivalent's minimal heros like Hood and Mills, the track keeps its focus simple, but finds ample room to create drama with its bare essential parts. This 4 tracks ep gives a good example of his diverse and still very defined techno recording skills. A side goes from the very straight forward and somehow mental 'Reforce' to the deep and abstract journey of 'Proteus 81', while B side kicks of with the somehow balearic and positive 'Green fingers' to end up with the quest of 'Light'!

Anonymous production unit Szare return with three fresh cuts for Manchester's Mindset Records. Craig McWhinney is a Melbourne based DJ, producer and live artist. Beginning his techno explorations behind the decks in 2000, his transition to the studio has been swift and fruitful. A string of releases on his own label Haul Music which he co-founded in 2008 with friends Mike Callander and Christian Vance, are now being backed up with remixes and EPs for Speedy J's Electric Deluxe, and Brendon Moeller's Steadfast records.

It's been three years since Ghosts on Tape (a.k.a. Ryan Merry) last released an EP of his own, and while the San Francisco-based producer has remained busy on the remix front, many have likely missed the transformation he's undergone in the interim. Fueled by his position as a founding member and resident DJ at Icee Hot, not to mention his selection as a participant at the 2011 Red Bull Music Academy in Madrid, Merry has gradually moved away from the warped tropical beats that marked his initial output, and now uses his beloved '90s-era Yamaha SU700 samplers (yes, they run on floppy disks) to explore the dark and ominous underbelly of classic house and techno, sounds he then colors with a penchant for upfront, bass-heavy futurism.

For over thirteen years Charles Siegling, aka Technasia, has created a unique east/west fusion that moves seamlessly from the Paris club scene, to the streets of Hong Kong, to the hippest techno venues in Europe. Whilst best known for his melodic and often epic techno, Technasia is equally at home in the realms of filtered house and rolling tech, as perfectly displayed on his excellent 'Central' album. 2012 has found Technasia primed and ready with new material and while his debut release for Cadenza has been tearing up the floors and charts for the past few weeks, we have been preparing our very own blistering debut from the Frenchman. 'Bastille Days' is heavy rolling stuff. Its earth-moving kick drum impresses, but its the trademark Technasia synth that really takes the track to another level. This is after all the soundtrack to a revolution. The beats remain heavy on the flip, 'Sunkiss' and belying its name, the track rolls out its tribal drums and crashing hats. It's just a year since the release of Grey Fades to Green, and we are now talking about Oscar Mulero's new album: Black propaganda.

9 brand new tracks that reflect a new twist in his sound, going deep into dark territories; a black and white approach to dance electronics, where shades and echoes and drones are mixed with obscure rhythm treatments that go from slow tempos to more uplifting beats.

Sonically speaking, his sound has become simpler, with less elements but better sound design. Less is more.

All tracks have a common feeling, like a soundtrack for a sad European landscape: mental, industrial, repetitive and definitely non-melodic. Do not expect any of the rich harmonies of the previous album, because this one is more about the texture and the feeling.

'The dirt' is a sweeping intro with digital noises, atmospheres, subbass drones and a seminal hi hat movement at the end.

'Instant widespread of the dirt' starts the motion: slow BPM range, reverberated beats, and a liquid feeling. As the arrangement goes on, rhythmical elements are added which increase the tension, while drones come back and forth.

'Introducing errors' follows perfectly from the previous track. Its drums are more diverse, yet they keep the liquid tones but with more harshness; again, different types of drones and sound details are spread on top of the beat, creating an hypnotic feeling.

'Disinformation' leaves tranquillity aside. The kick is fat, broken into the pattern, hats become sharp, drones go high, and percussive synth sounds shuffle all over the track.

'Convince for the untruth' is a proper techno workout: concrete kicks, flanged synth lines, tons of reverb, discipline and repetition. Drones are again part of the screen, appearing from the break and moving and mutating till the end comes.

'Intentionally false' goes bleepy with sinoidal bass and high synth sequences. 808 high hats and a clear approach, now drones are out. Let's explore the metallic.

'Inaccurate information' is a Sci Fi influenced work with crazy bell-like sequences, basic drum work and classic 909 workout for a spacey feeling.

'False statements' keeps the spirit of the album: dark, grey, but hard and funky. A few sonic ingredients, a solid beat, a clever arrangement... And let yourself go.

'Black propaganda' acts as an outro, as the first track; digital landscapes, drones, space effects and abstract noise.

The new album by techno's most restlessly inventive artist: Pitch bending shaped 17:50's weirdly alien, yet extremely catchy melodies and bass lines - rough analog drums and distortion hardware bring new sonic pleasures to innovative dance floors. Anti slickness. Pro pitch bend. A world out of tune. De-tuning notes has been central to house and techno since the early days in Chicago. Stefan Goldmann's '17:50 is where this bitter-sweet sound turns systematic: the whole Western harmonic standard is thrown overboard and replaced by pitch systems that yield beautifully alien yet incredibly catchy melodies, bass lines and chords. It is probably the first new melodic concept to enter house music since the days of acid.
