Gremino's 'Let's Jack EP' is a trio of individually-styled tunes, and a new introduction to the young Finnish producer's unique sound, last heard on vinyl around these parts on the killer 'Its Working EP' for Rag & Bone, the title track of which was one 2010's high points of clattering bass funkiness. On this EP, he takes acid up to juke speed, and jungle down to grime speed, all through his menacing digital filter. The dramatic build-up of 'Lush' drops suddenly into manic chopped breaks, followed by 'Let's Jack', an uptempo acid house track lost in outer space. Gremino closes out the set with an ominous yet youthful epic, 'Faerietales', which hypnotically builds until finally dropping into a club banger full of rave stabs and gliding synth melodies. Caytas & Patz are two cousins from Stockholm, Sweden. Sharing the same interests when it comes to music as well as being related made it natural for the duo to start working together some years ago. The most important thing for the duo has always been to experiment and to try new things, and that can be found in their productions as well as in their live performances. Mikael Nordgren, AKA Tiger Stripes, well known in techno's ahead of the curve circles for his massive slamming tunes like 'Eden' or for his tightly wrapped tech-house beats, surprises us, adeptly flirting with dub techno in his awesome reworking of SLS' "Four To The Floor". This is a very heavy minimal track, reminiscent more than anything else, of "deep-down-into-dub" artists like Quantec or Marco Furstenberg. The deeper of the four versions of "Four To The Floor" as released on Ground Factory. It retains the musical atmosphere of the original material while turning it into one of those intense and evocative slow heavy techno moments, with a relaxed mood and a subtle progression.

Marco Bailey should by now need little introduction. Already one of Belgium'sbiggest techno exports with over 15 years of DJ experience and a multitude ofkiller techno cuts on esteemed labels such as Primate, Intec and his own MBElektronics and MB Selektions, his mixing style and productions are known theworld over and he has become one of the biggest headliner names in techno.
Fifteen years of sacrifice and dedication have seen Belgian's number one DJbreak through the national borders to join the big league of worldwide technoartists. Marco Bailey's own productions frequently appear in the set lists ofCarl Cox, Chris Liebing, Laurent Garnier and Sven Väth but don't let the listof big names mislead you: although ambitious, he's a self-made man with aprimary mission to entertain people. And that's exactly what he does here onhis new album 'E=MB2'.
'E=MB2' sees Marco team up once again with long term studio partner Tom Hadesfor his first artist album since 2004's 'Rude Boy'. uan Atkins returns to R&S on a Model 500 solo mission. The last Model 500 single enlisted the help of the live line up that includes Detroit techno royalty Mike Banks and UR alumni Mark Taylor, but this latest release is just Juan in the studio and back at his best.
'Control' is vintage Model 500, the classic electro that Atkins pretty much invented, with his treated vocals riding over the crisp rhythm programming, dark basslines and Detroit synths.
'The Messenger' on the flip is a moodier affair, with the liquid synths almost running away with themselves over the rough beats.
Model 500 and R&S has proved to have been a classic combination over the years and this release is one to file next to the classics.
