Trance Vinyl New Releases - News

As the old saying goes... "It's 5 o'clock somewhere". In this great big world of ours, it's also always sunset on a warm beach somewhere. Whether you're lucky enough to be there right now, have a vacation planned in the not-too-distant future, or whether you're just looking forward to summer, the 'Armada Sunset' compilation is two brilliant sets of the feeling we know and crave.

The double set will instantly transport your body and soul to the twilight hours of your fondest memories, and it's the perfect representation of that transient moment between day and night. Expertly straddling the border between relaxed and intense, 'Armada Sunset' perfectly encapsulates the transition - the merging of two different worlds.

The first set keeps the vibe chilled out and slow, with plenty of low-tempo tunes to awaken the senses. The Rodg chill out mix of Armin van Buuren feat. Fiora's 'Waiting for the Night' is the mix getting into full swing, as it begins to pick up emotional steam. With stellar contributions from Lustral (I Feel You), deep techy edge in 'Party Like 2999', and the genuine vocal beauty of Parra For Cuva feat. Anna Naklab's 'True Thoughts', there's plenty of variety and enchantment to entice and relax the busy mind.

The second set begins with the moody tableau of Paul Valentin's Sommeil, a subdued track with unspeakable volumes of buried intensity. JK Soul's 'C' brings back the old-school swing, keeping the atmosphere fresh and light. 'Morning Light' rounds out the eclectic nature of the second set, which makes extensive use of vibrant and creative textures and styles. Matt Lange and Booka Shade also make noteworthy experiences, as the set draws ever nearer to its triumphant finish.

'Armada Sunset' is a strong reminder of just how diverse, captivating, and unique the music of today's most inspiring producers can be. In a sense, there's little that binds these records together other than a flawless DJ mix. 'Armada Sunset' is the sublime representation of the mixture of emotions that are present at the end of each and every beautiful day.

Once upon a time seven trance DJ's decided the moment had come to spread the love for the
genre throughout the whole country of Brazil. That plan has now kickstarted into action with the
Trance In Brazil (mix)compilation. The ambassadors of the project Danilo Ercole, Wrechiski,
Klauss Goulart, Sourcee, Flavio Grifo, Morttagua and Sunset have each contributed to this oneof-
a-kind compilation, making it a very special release to say the least.

These seasoned Brazilian trance DJ's each added one of their own tracks to the album, which
are also remixed by one of their fellow Trance In Brazil DJ's. The genres of the tracks cover
different facets of the trance spectrum such as progressive, tech and uplifting trance styles.
To top it all off DJ Morttagua has done the continuous mix for the album.

The Trance In Brazil concept does not only consist of this compilation; the initiators are taking
other steps to promote, support and manage the genre and unite trance lovers and producers.
Not only will there be a Trance In Brazil CD Compilation tour and parties, the platform will also
help trance DJ's to book gigs in famous clubs throughout the country and maybe open doors for
the big international trance names.

So, Trance In Brazil is not just a compilation, but also a quest to win over Brazil to the music of
trance for once and for all.

Grammy-award nominated electronic dance music DJ and producer Andy Moor has established a distinct, edgy and creative sound that is completely his own. Highly ranked in the DJ Mag Top 100 for the past 7 years, he was nominated for the DJ Awards in 2009, won 'Best Dance Record' at the International Dance Music Awards in 2006, and 'Best Trance Producer' and 'Best Trance Track' in 2004. A highlight of Andy's illustrious career was his nomination in the 'Best Remixed Recording' category at the 2008 Grammy Awards for his remix of Delerium's 'Angelicus'.

For fifteen years, Moor has been at the forefront of a rapidly evolving music scene, pioneering new sounds and techniques and consistently releasing the finest in progressive and trance.

Exploring his talent early in life, Andy Moor could already play his first piano piece flawlessly at the tender age of 5. By 11, he had accomplished 6 more musical instruments. Two years later he spun his first record and by 21 he was playing to crowds of thousands.

Now owner of the highly respected AVA Recordings record label, host of the 'Moor Music' podcast and prestigious producer & remixer (including remixes of Armin van Buuren, Tiësto, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Paul Oakenfold, and many more), Andy Moor returns with the third installment of the "Breaking the Silence" mix series.

A flawless double mix of some of the most impressive tunes of recent memory, "Breaking The Silence Volume 3" is jam-packed with genuine musicality. With fiery original tunes and a wide selection of AVA Recordings talent, the two mix set showcases Moor's trademark melodic prowess. The seductive and captivating vibe of the album is undeniable.

Seamlessly maneuvering between dark, brooding textures, soaring vocals, and genuinely uplifting hard drops, "Breaking The Silence Volume 3" feels more like a cinematic experience than a record. The first set takes the listener down a mysterious and dreamy path, perfectly setting up the harder, more driving second hour. The complete package features many heart-stopping exclusive tracks (such as Eximinds feat. Chloe - "Rescue Me" and Tenisha - "Benedictus") and never-before-released Andy Moor originals including the LTN remix of "Love Again" and the much anticipated "Fade Into Light" original mix from the man himself.

Available March 14th, 2014 on Armada/AVA Recordings, this compilation is an absolute necessity for those wishing to keep an ear to the ground for the best electronic music in the industry today.

LOST LANGUAGE was initiated into the HOOJ family of labels over the summer of 2000. A non-denominational trance off-shoot, with quality and diversity at the heart of it's doctrine.

Led by a young and enthusiastic BEN LOST, the label maintained a royal mix of established HOOJ heavyweights, whilst utilising an ever growing roster of fresh, international talent.

Ben left Lost Language abruptly in 2005, before returning in the winter of 2012, inspired by the free party scenes in Russia, Asia and the UK, and keen to exhume what he considered to be 'important, forgotten aesthetics, since repressed in a shallow, dumbed down trance scene.'

EXHIBITION V is our YEAR ZERO. A holographic slice of who we are, where we are, where we've been and where we're going. Our collective heritage is rich.

The last few years have seen composer, producer, DJ and A&R man Ad Brown keep the EDM universe supplied with a steady flow of highly polished, broad-span-appealing electronic music.
Locking on to the beneath-the-surface magnetism of his productions, an ever-increasing directory of world-class DJs have rallied to his sound. Now the young Londoner is ready to step
centre stage with the release of his debut long-player. Over a scrupulously edited collection of music, he matches his own inimitable production stylings - that of a cooler, more cultured house, trance & more with an attuned ear for memorable, accessible lyrics and engaging vocals. If you're starting to feel an itch or twitch for music with less glitch, it's time to take... 'Something For The Pain'!

Brown took the album decision whilst on a travel sabbatical, journeying around the Asia and theSouth Pacific and commenced its production the week of his return. Many months in the making ('close to 30' says Brown), and condensed down from over a 100 demos, concepts and ideas to 14 pristine refined productions, Ad's first album collection is finally here.

On its completion he stated: 'I feel there is a 'too soon' and a 'too late' for a first artist album to arrive. It falls at a different point for every producer, but this feels like a good time for me. 'Something For The Pain' has taken no small amount of blood, sweat and
tears to get sounding exactly the way I wanted it. Its also taken time, but as the saying goes 'the devil is in the detail' and I wouldn't have had its production any other way. I am
thoroughly delighted to finally be on the eve of the album's release.' 'Something For The Pain' embarks with the spacious redolent chill of 'More' and its lead-out single, 'Ready And Waiting'. Through their verses and choruses, vocalists Hannah Ray and Tess instil an epic nature to the songs, thawing the productions' cooler edges and bringing heat and harmony to the album's overture. Championed by Ferry Corsten, most recently on his Once Upon A Night 4' album, 'Thrive' begins to hardwire more driving, floor-facing tones into 'Something For The Pain's system. Co-produced alongside Miami studio-head Stan Kolev, the pair incorporate a grooving feel-good bassline nature, tying it idiosyncratically to cool trance-progressive tones. 'Tears' meanwhile is a rare instrumental from Brown. Basing itself around a chiming xylophonic leadline, it deals complex yet memorable note movements. Hung off resonating piano notes, reverberant stormy FX (recorded in Indonesia during his travels) and drum-free immersion, 'Sorry's half-whispered/half-sung lyrics, deliver 'Something's midpoint interlude. It's an ephemeral rest-up though as 'Pulse' (produced alongside stateside Shawn Mitiska) plunges into big, sonic tubular mainlines, bringing greater force and stridence to the album.
The trance-toned, Kerry Leva sung 'One More Night' and the transposing riffs and ever-exacting production of 'All I Need' deliver the album some of its most uplifting moments. 'Been A While' brings further contrast through its classic Chicago house themes, whilst vocalist Arielle Maren infuses both list and lament on 'Like The Sunrise'. 'Lie Awake' again highlights Ad's innate ability to pair catchy vocals (Hannah Ray again) with accessible productions, while 'Tonight' gifts the album its pensive, touching, poignant dénouement. Across 14 advanced-beyond-his-years pieces of music, Ad Brown delivers a flawless first album.
Flush with lyrical depth, an inspiring lack of cliché, vocal turns from class-of-tomorrow singer/songwriter talent and cornered around his precocious, hyper-polished studio work, 'Something' is a blueprint for a debut album. If you need an antidote to the quantity-over-quality EDM tide, 'Something For The Pain's likely it.

For the past 13 years, A State of Trance has been a labour of love for Armin van Buuren. His radio show, attracting 20 million loyal listeners each week, is up for its 650th episode in 2014.
A feat that'll be celebrated with the extensive 'New Horizons' world tour - touching down in cities such as Buenos Aires, Jakarta, Miami, Yekaterinburg, Utrecht and Kuala Lumpur. To commemorate this unique happening and bring a perfect musical souvenir, Armin proudly presents the official A State of Trance 650 compilation - including mixes by Armin van Buuren, BT, Aly & Fila, Kyau & Albert and Omnia.

5 CD's, mixed by 5 of the world's leading names in electronic dance music. Each mix sets forth the sound of its mixing DJ - that provides a selection of classics and exclusives. Armin van Buuren, the mastermind of the A State of Trance show, record label and flag-bearer of the ever-blossoming trance movement. BT, one of the biggest pioneers in dance music, rocking the globe for the past 20 years. Egyptian duo Aly & Fila, keeping trance alive throughout the years. German duo Kyau & Albert, responsible for some of trance's most memorable classics. And last but not least, the rising talent of Omnia, known for his very own, unrivalled sound.

Altogether, they bring you a musical blueprint to the past 13 years of A State of Trance. From everlasting classics to future favourites, shiny new tunes and heavy-weight remixes, this is A State of Trance 650.

Finally in stock again!!

Los Angeles, CA - December 3, 2013 - UK's seminal dance trio Above & Beyond will release "Above & Beyond Acoustic".  Earlier this year, the group performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically with a 12-piece band, across three sold out shows at London's legendary Porchester Hall.  The response from fans was overwhelming and led to two sold-out nights at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles in October, described by Billboard Magazine as "one of the finest and more memorable shows in EDM history."

Partnering with Vice's Thump channel on the production and filming of the London shows, the group will release a documentary film on January 24th capturing the Porchester Hall performance and the story behind the acoustic project.

Above & Beyond is Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness and Paavo Siljamäki, and their story is one of constant movement - from their early days as producers remixing Madonna and Radiohead, to their current global standing (DJ Magazine has called Above & Beyond 'The biggest electronic DJing and production collective the UK has ever produced.')  The trio have played to one million people on Barra Beach in Rio de Janeiro (New Year's Eve in 2007), soundtracked the launch of Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo in the Mojave desert, and sold out the Hollywood Palladium faster than anyone in history. Every week their Group Therapy radio show reaches over 25 million people worldwide.

"The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met,' said Above & Beyond's Tony McGuinness. 'The songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don't just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track - that's not how we work. We try to start with a song and it's usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version."

With Above & Beyond Acoustic, the group are putting aside their CDJs and lighting rigs to showcase their deeply-rooted musicianship and classical training.  A band first and foremost,Above & Beyond are songwriters as much as they are DJs. Working with three singers, a string quartet, harpist, drummer and bassist, Above & Beyond are pushing the boundaries of EDM.  Tony McGuinness sings and plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, Paavo Siljamäki plays the grand piano and cello, and Jono Grant plays the Rhodes piano, guitar and vibraphone.

Billboard Magazine elaborated on Above & Beyond's acoustic performance, saying: 'across their 90-minute set, they proved not only the durability of their own material, but the possibility in transposing the entire genre of trance to live instrumental form...Rather than merely reinterpreting the lush strings and extended loops of their records, the group rearranged their catalogue, rendering much of their material anew. As other artists of the EDM era look to find what makes them unique or durable, they would benefit from walking in the ground broke by Above & Beyond with this acoustic project.'

Above & Beyond Acoustic draws on the band's greatest tracks, across numerous single releases, two Above & Beyond artist albums, 'Tri-State' (2006) and 'Group Therapy' (2011), and their Oceanlab LP  'Sirens of the Sea.'

One year ago, the living legend himself Markus Schulz released 'Scream', an album that smashed borders and forever solidified his irrefutable spot within the world of EDM. Earning the respect of his peers and enormous fan-base alike, 'Scream' showed the commitment this man has to leading the way in the genre he helped found, and deservedly brought home critical acclaim.

Never one to rest on his laurels and let the future come to him, Schulz set about the arduous task of compiling a whopping 17 track album with 'Scream 2', an undeniable opus from the well-established DJ and production mastermind.

Featuring a wide array of influences and collaborations, 'Scream 2' is as much a throwback to the powerful sound that catapulted Schulz to stardom in the early 00's as it is a challenge to today's top producers. This album is such a tremendous sonic achievement, that it will surely stand the test of time well into the future, reminding people years down the road of what commitment to quality sounds and feels like.

Schulz has teamed up with long-time collaborators and new talents alike, seeking to showcase some of the highest quality vocalists and writers in the scene. The emphasis on song writing is apparent throughout the album, making sure that these songs are far more than a passing trend, to be forgotten in a few months or even weeks.

Every bit the follow up to the first in the series, 'Scream 2' is the culmination of a gargantuan career, and a clear line in the sand for all aspirational DJs and would-be superstars.

The structure of the album is almost classical - beginning with the one-two punch of Liz Spencer's and Amy Kirkpatrick's (half of the Vancouver duo Data Romance) jaw-dropping vocals. Never one to linger on an idea for too long, Schulz quickly changes gears into an all-out anthem, in keeping with his earlier hits like 'The New World'. He then slides back into LA talent (by way of Nashville) Liz Primo's feature for 'Blown Away', with Hollywood-inspired pop hooks that will light a fire equally on the radio and on the dance floor.

Indeed, over half of this album would be right at home on mainstream radio, while staying credible enough to please even the most hard-hearted of EDM fans.

For some, the middle section of this album ('Destino', 'Mango', 'Mardi Gras', and 'Reloaded') will represent the core of the club scene. These no-nonsense bangers have all the energy of a nuclear bomb, and each one goes off in a surprising yet epic way. Taking a deep turn away from the vocal tunes lets him kick the party into high gear, just as he would in one of his legendary festival sets. By the time Schulz comes in for the close, you'll be sure you just listened to a tour-de-force experience worthy of all the attention and accolades it's sure to receive.

'Scream 2' finishes strong, with features from Grammy-winning songwriter Lady V, chart-topping vocalist CeCe Peniston, Coldharbour mainstay Adina Butar, and trance whiz Rex Mundi.

The last two songs bring the album full circle, closing with an absolute flourish, as the vocals of Chris Madin in 'Revolution' and Paul Aiden in 'Fireworks' are worthy of mainstage closing ceremonies and the top 40 charts alike.

With the launch planned for the end of February, 2014, the world has certainly not seen the last of Mr. Markus Schulz.
