Veteran Jamaican deejay Tippa Lee returns to the fold with a playful twist on the classic love song, professing his adoration for sweet reggae music and all its provided him.

As per usual, the enigmatic Naram is on riddim duties with a retro-futuristic piece of rub-a-dub mixing live Simmons drums, acoustic piano and a menagerie of colourful synths.

Paired with a stripped back dub version, mixed to tape, and mastered for full effect by New Zealand’s Downbeat Mastering, this is another essential 45 from the Red Robin camp.

Nutria Sounds, new sublabel of NDATL Muzik, a home for organic, soul-nourishing dance music rooted in deep grooves and essential vibes. Launching this journey is the “Mi Espiritu EP” by rising Toronto-based producer Marcelo Cruz, a three-track statement of spiritual depth and dancefloor energy.

The title track “Mi Espiritu” features the ethereal vocals of the incomparable Jaidene Veda, weaving her unmistakable tone through Cruz’s emotive percussion and lush atmospheres—an invocation of movement and spirit.

On “Ceremonia,” Cruz invites pianist Carlito Brigante to the ritual, whose delicate yet expressive keys glide over a hypnotic rhythm, conjuring images of sacred spaces and late-night communion.

Closing out the EP is “Deeper Dreams,” a raw, underground journey of stripped-down drums, pulsing basslines, and deep textures—a track that nods to classic heads-down moments while pushing forward in vibe.

One of Norways most acknowledged and established drummers, is finally ready to unleash his debut album as an
solo artist. DUMMY THICC - who’s real name is Sigmund Vestrheim - has played for acts such as Boy Pablo,
AURORA and with his own R&B/Soul-group Giddy Gang.

This album tells the story of DUMMY THICC, with crisp
snares and drums being the focal point of the soundscape. He invites a bunch of his friends in on the
journey, members from Giddy Gang, Ivan Ave and Vuyo jumps on the mic and instruments to help DUMMY

In 1966, Oscar Agudelo recorded this elusive and lesser-known collector's gem called "Pa' mi muñeca" for Discos Fuentes. It is a rarity where the artist took an unexpected musical turn and performed several porros, paseaitos, gaitas, and cumbias, evoking the swaying motion and rolling waves of Colombia's Caribbean sound. It resonates with the echoes of a romantic minstrel laced with an unexpected richness of nuance, a hallmark of the cumbia sound. It's exactly the kind of music that lights up a tambó or a fandango circle on carnival night. A dozen tracks, none of them new, but suffused with a consciousness that can be understood within the context of their time and with the personality of the artist bold enough to bring them to life. 'Madre cumbia' opens the album with a festive, nostalgic mood, infused with the simple beauty and the electrifying beat of the tropics that immediately makes you want to get up and dance. It's a fantastic example of how to perform a song with passion and make the listener fall instantly in love with an album. 'Pa' mi muñeca', the title track, is a fast-paced paseaito that explores new paths that took a shortcut to the dance halls. A showstopper on the dance floor. 'Está como mango' is a porro-cumbia that charms with a rich tapestry of compliments, the calling card of many old-school tropical songs. 'Cumbia de recuerdo', 'Cumbia suave', 'Cumbia de Santa Marta', are back-to-back cumbias. This is an album devoted to recreating the strength of a musical genre that's been the soundtrack of Colombian life for decades. It's a record dedicated to capturing good times, filled with simple dreams, steeped in joyful energy, and shining with the uninhibited flair, or better said, the quality of the sixties. "The Beatles spread the use of electric guitars all through the world, and Bolivia was no exception. “The British Invasion” hit a politically convulsed country, and it fell upon a rich multi-cultural scene that was further expanded when the psychedelic counterculture youth movements coming from San Francisco also took the hearts of the country’s youngsters.
It was a big mixture of influences thrown in a cauldron that saw a link between the LSD drenched hippie generation and the country’s native ancestors. Bolivians were not new to mind-expanding experiences, the acid experiences promoted in the USA by Ken Kesey and Timothy Leary found their local counterpart in the old indigenous traditions of using plants such as the ayahuasca to open their doors of perception.
On this compilation you will find some of the more interesting young bands from a 1960s Bolivia bringing the sounds of a new generation and marrying them with the rich musical background of the country. The garage-sounding psychedelic beat made by these young musicians would soon open new horizons, and Bolivia would soon see how traditional sounds, like their local version of the cumbia, would evolve in a similar way as it would do in the neighboring country of Perú."

Fourth Page: Meaning of a Nest is the highly anticipated fourth studio album, and second with Edition Records, by renowned South Korean/ Amsterdam based drummer and visionary composer Sun-Mi Hong solidifying Hong’s position as one of the most inventive and creative drummers and musicians of her generation. Meaning of a Nest, embodies the album’s exploration of home and community, reflecting Hong’s decade-long journey from South Korea to Amsterdam and her efforts to build new networks and establish roots in a vibrant new environment.

This fusion ensures each track resonates with authenticity and emotional depth. Lara Orfei was part of the Italia Orfei circus and entertainment family dynasty who often had forays into the realm of the record industry and Se Mi Rompi Non Ci Sto is one of the outcomes of that. However, these ventures weren’t always commercially successful as is the case with this record which of course has led to the an original copy becoming very difficult and expensive to acquire. However, it most certainly can be considered an artistic success - with Lara Orfei’s strange, otherworldly voice melted perfectly with the track’s cosmic electronics - which are also able to stand alone and shine through in the Instrumental version on the B-side. Having been released on seven inch, we are more than happy to bring this cult classic of Italo Disco onto 12 inch format for your enjoyment with the inclusion of extended edit by Castro to further facilitate dancefloor transcendence.

You may not have heard of Long Beach O.G. Greg Royal aka Pür Royale, but you're definitely familiar with his work. With a resume of remix, production, engineering, and editing work ranging from Dr Dre's "The Chronic" to Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative", to the dub version of Patrice Rushen's "Feels So Real", Greg left an indelible mark on contemporary black music from the mid-80's to mid-90s.

In 1993 however, a one off 100 copy house 12" self titled as "Royal Phenomena" on the surface didn't seem to quite fit with the more traditional hip-hop and r&b output of his extensive discography. I only found out it existed through connecting with another unsung west coast pioneer, Aaron Paar, for Must Have's 2016 Teflon Dons compilation. Greg is credited as a mixing and recording engineer on practically every release on Aaron's own consistently excellent label Worldship. After listening to Aaron tell his story, it was clear Greg's studio experience and mentorship were key elements in the development of Aaron's signature tough SP-1200 house sound. "Royal Phenomena" remains an elusive connecting point for LA hip-hop and underground deep house, and Greg and Aaron remain friends and frequent collaborators.

Aaron put me in touch with Greg, who miraculously kept his original DAT tape recordings of these unique house excursions and was happy to finally share them with a wider audience. Blending hip-hop production techniques, west coast Latin sleaze, midwestern minimalism, and a dash of UK bleep, the LA underground house sound remains singular.

In anticipation of Gitkin's upcoming album in October, Wonderwheel drops a cheeky little 7" with two Latin covers from the man himself. The A-Side finds an instrumental Cumbia cover of the eternal 80s classic by The Human League. Leading with the guitar for the verses, the song chugs along nicely with a faithful interpretation of the original with Simon Moushabeck's accordion leading the chorus. On the flip, Gitkin covers Peru's infamous Grupo Celeste's 1975 classic "Mi Lamento" with friend and collaborator Gabe Case on vocals. Keeping with the Tropical Andean sound of the original, Gitkin's funky, wah wah guitars drive the track set over uptempo, cumbia inspired drums while Case's melodic vocals float on top. Two fun, happy tunes to light up dancefloors this summer!

Krautige Cumbia der Zukunft trifft auf unverzerrte Gitarre! Bewusstseinserweiternd! Der in Bogotá lebende kolumbianische Komponist Eblis Alvarez, bekannt als Meridian Brothers, kreiert seit 1998 eine einzigartige Mischung aus psychedelischen Klängen. Mit seinem neuesten Projekt "Mi Latinoamérica Sufre" erkundet Alvarez das ungenutzte Potenzial der E-Gitarre in einem tropischen Latin-Kontext. Inspiriert von afrikanischen Highlife- und Soukous-Traditionen schafft Alvarez ein furchtloses Klangexperiment voller Erfindungsreichtum, Verspieltheit und Emotionen. Im Gegensatz zu typischen tropischen Gitarrenalben verzichtet dieses Album auf Verzerrung und Klischees und setzt stattdessen auf einen reinen, sauberen Ansatz. Mit komplizierten Kompositionen, die Cumbia, Champeta, Soukous, brasilianische Tropicalia und psychedelischen Underground-Rock mischen, huldigt Alvarez der goldenen Ära der kongolesischen Rumba, des ghanaischen Highlife und des nigerianischen Afrobeat. "Mi Latinoamérica Sufre" ist ein Egotrip, der eine humorvolle und zugleich introspektive Reise der Selbstfindung und Identität darstellt.
