Big Big Train, die preisgekrönte Progressive-Rock-Band, veröffentlicht ihr 16. Studioalbum. "Woodcut" ist ein Meilenstein für die internationale Gruppe, deren Mitglieder aus England, Schottland, Italien, den USA, Schweden und Norwegen stammen, da es ihr erstes Konzeptalbum in voller Länge ist. "Die Geschichte spielt nicht in einem bestimmten Zeitrahmen, sondern handelt von einem Künstler, der mit dem Leben zu kämpfen hat", beginnt Gründungsmitglied Gregory Spawton. "Er macht einen Spaziergang, findet dieses Stück Kernholz und schafft etwas, das er als schön und anders empfindet. Vielleicht ist es ein Traum oder vielleicht ist es das echte Leben, aber er findet sich in dieser Narnia-artigen Holzschnittwelt wieder."
"Woodcut" ist ein eher bandorientiertes Werk, zu dem alle sieben Mitglieder einen beeindruckenden Beitrag leisten, wobei Frontmann Alberto Bravin die Federführung als Produzent übernommen hat: "Dieses Mal ist es eine Art neues Statement für die Band. 'Woodcut' ist für uns ein großer Schritt nach vorne", kommentiert er. Mit 16 Titeln und einer Spielzeit von 66 Minuten wirkt "Woodcut" episch, ohne sich zu sehr in die Länge zu ziehen.
Das Album ziert ein auffälliges Cover-Design des in Dorset ansässigen Künstlers Robin Mackenzie - natürlich ein schwarz-weißer Holzschnitt, der von einem Holzschnitt abgeleitet ist, den die Band speziell für das Album bei ihm in Auftrag gegeben hat. Erhältlich als limitierte CD + Blu-ray-Edition, einschließlich ausführlicher Liner Notes sowie Dolby Atmos- und 5.1-Surround-Sound-Mischungen von Shawn Dealey von Sweetwater Studios, wird das Album auch als atemberaubende Gatefold-180g-2LP mit speziellem geprägten Cover, Standard-CD-Jewelcase und digital in Stereo- und Dolby Atmos-Versionen erhältlich sein.

Those in charge of opening this vinyl saga are "Fat & Blind" these two artists from Cádiz better known as "Deibeat & Shemma" with their track "Mother F .... Breakbeat" published by the label "Weekend Breaks" in 2000 , a track that became an anthem and continues to resonate at every party, now remastered for this occasion.

This is the debut release from Laguna Seca, a new project from Porto based Mike Jefford. It foreshadows a new body of work, steeped in 70s nostalgia, refracted though sounds that could belong to krautrock, disco, electronica, noisy alt rock and everything in between. Mike has previously recorded as Positive Centre releasing textural, experimental techno on such labels as Stroboscopic Artefacts, SNTS and Leyla. After mastering his forthcoming 2026 debut album ‘O Tempo’, Mike Jefford caught a second wind of inspiration. In just seven frantic days he recorded the heap of tracks that formed the basis of 'Live from Müsli Mountain’. It soon became clear that these tracks foreshadowed the album perfectly and the EP was born.

Named after the California raceway, this project fuses 1970s recording techniques, modern electronics and psychedelic retrofuturism, it’s a pyramid of sonic adventure that will be explored deeper on the album next year.

Texas-based producer Declan James runs the VOIDWARE imprint and events, also listing music on labels such as Edit Select Records, Max Gardner's Peer, drxvo's Synergie, and Secus' Rituals amongst others. Beginning with "Pendulums," a classic sci-fi trip with modular bleeps amidst a slinking, bouncing rhythm section for a perfect lesson in patience and restraint.

"Levitation" has an otherworldly feeling and floats along a sparse track of swirling drones, chugging bass pulses, and classy percussion taps for a mesmerising and introspective journey.

"Transmutate" throws down a stuttering kick drum, haunting tones, and bending modular notes for a grooving yet dystopian analogue concoction.

The final track "Absolved" sees a deep dive into details and dub influences. Where eerie rattles and precision production form a memorable dose of sizzling hot, futuristic, and fantastic techno.

Neue Grafik has steadily built a strong reputation in recent years with releases on esteemed labels such as Rhythm Section, 22a, CoOp Presents, and Wolf Music. His sound is a distinctive fusion of jazz, house, and hip hop, infused with his African heritage, Parisian background, and a deep appreciation for London genres like broken beat and grime.

Neue Grafik first made a lasting impression on the community at Total Refreshment Centre (TRC)—the heart of London’s thriving jazz scene—during a spontaneous after-hours jam. Since then, there has been collaborations with notable artists including Nubya Garcia, Emma-Jean Thackray, Brother Portrait, Lord Apex and Allysha Joy.

The new album, ”Rachael”, is set for release on January 30th 2026. It stands as Neue Grafik's most ambitious project to date.
