Ein Vierteljahrhundert Punkrock mit Ruhrpott-Attitüde, charismatischen Texten und ehrlicher Musik mit dem gewissem Charme - Emscherkurve 77 feiern 2025 ihr 25-jähriges Bandjubiläum. Und wie! Am 30.Oktober erscheinen zwei brandneue Songs in der Königsklasse "10inch-Vinyl", die nicht nur musikalisch, sondern auch zeitlich ein echtes Highlight sind. Denn zum Jubiläum haben sich die Jungs, bei "Eins ist geblieben" eine ganz besonderen Gast (und sogar Fan) ins Boot geholt: Reinhard Mey. Ja, der Reinhard Mey! Die unerwartete, aber umso kraftvollere Kollaboration zeigt, was passiert, wenn Punk und Liedermacher auf Augenhöhe zusammenkommen: Kein billiger Crossover, sondern gelebte Solidarität zwischen Generationen und Genres, die verbindet. Reinhard Mey hat seine erste Single zwar schon vor exakt 60 Jahren veröffentlicht, da lagen die Sex Pistols und Die Toten Hosen noch in ihren Windeln und die Jungs von Emscherkurve 77 waren noch lange nicht einmal geboren, aber er war schon da und ebnete diesen Weg mit seiner freundlichen Radikalität: Niemands Herr und niemands Untertan! "Eins ist geblieben" von Emscherkurve 77 im Duett mit Reinhard Mey ist somit nicht nur nicht verwunderlich, sondern absolut naheliegend, ja sogar überfällig. Der Generationenunterschied ist irrelevant, die Geisteshaltung, die Freiheitsliebe, das Misstrauen gegen jede Machtfülle und die Demut vor dem Leben eint sie alle: "Dem Himmel sei Dank; für immer ein Punk!" Der zweite Song "Alchemie" ist ein klassischer Emscherkurve 77-Song im modernen Gewand. For more than thirty years, Arnaud Fournier has been shaping the landscape of the French expe-rimental scene. First within the duo HINT, a singular fusion of experimental, noise and indie music, he released three studio albums in the late 1990s and has continued to perform regularly ever since, including a live album with EZ3kiel in 2009. With La Phaze (1999), Dead Hippies (2013) and later Atonalist (2017), he has always instinctively sought to cross genres and stage dialogues bet-ween extremes. In 2025, with 100% Black Puzzle, he delivers his very first album under his own name, a work where saturated guitars, saxophones, trumpet, hypnotic loops and vast layers of drone meet. Mixed and mastered by Olivier "Cali" Fournier at Studioscope in Angers, 100% Black Puzzle gathers familiar faces around it. Its title resonates as an intentional echo, directly referencing 100% White Puzzle, HINT's debut album. Thirty years on, Arnaud Fournier rediscovers the same spirit of absolute freedom across these five tracks: no format constraints, no compromise on length. The title track, an eight-minute instrumental, sets the tone - a raw, urgent gesture, cap-tured in the moment. In his own words, it was about "finding myself once more in that first-song state of mind, without any confinement." With 100% Black Puzzle, Arnaud Fournier fully embraces signing the work under his own name. No pseudonym, no mask, but an unveiling: a profoundly intimate record, steeped in family and friendship, where noise and beauty constantly collide and entwine. Thirty years after shaking up the French indie scene with HINT, he delivers a body of work that is at once retrospective and forward-looking - a black puzzle that resounds like a rebirth. And what better way to "close the circle" than by heading back on tour?

Impressions marks Budapest based independent label Blue Sun’s 6th release. Hungarian multi-instrumentalist, Fingerfisher guitarist Adam Gollob's debut solo LP carries forward the musical direction set by the label’s founders (Hanussen & Kozmo D) by presenting tracks that are built around concentrated, listening-based music consumption, deliberately crossing, possibly defying genres.

Impressions is a profound reflection of transformation, embracing imperfection along the way. As a former student of jazz guitar at Bartók Conservatory, Gollob evokes the wandering spirit of John Coltrane with the title, at the same time inviting the listener into a brief but intensive creative period of the artist’s own life. Music listened to, festivals visited, thoughts and conversations - all echoing through-and-throughout the composition, questioning, dismantling, and rearranging them into a piece.

The record is a rich and evocative work that blends elements of new wave, indie rock, alternative electronic, and neo-psychedelic styles. The introspective lyrics and unrefined vocals explore different aspects of existence, placing the perpetual tension between uncertainty and confidence at the center. The hypnotic synthesizers, raw drum textures, and the structurally interwoven songs provide a complex listening experience. The material reforms with each replay into an ever-changing musical landscape, with a strikingly unique, fuzzy yet soothing atmosphere.

Making their debut on Crosstown Rebels, New York collective Indo Warehouse unveils ‘Bombay Acid’. The release is a collaboration between co-founder Kunal Merchant and acclaimed vocalist Raja Kumari, capturing the Indo Warehouse ethos: hypnotic grooves, ancestral textures,and underground energy fused into one expansive, ritualistic journey.‘Bombay Acid’ pairs Merchant’s meticulously layered production, melding deep, hypnotic grooves with textures drawn from South Asian musical traditions, with Kumari’s commanding vocals. On the flip, SYREETA delivers a striking rework. Authentic and fearless, the UK favourite has shattered glass ceilings while drawing on chunky basslines and energetic grooves from house and techno to craft her own sound and style. Her remix injects ‘Bombay Acid’ with that signature low-end punch, while driving and harnessing the track’s cosmic energy for late-night dancefloors.Kunal Merchant has spent years building a sound that is simultaneously drawn from his South Asian lineage and futuristic. From appearances at Coachella, Hï Ibiza, Fabric London, and Brooklyn Mirage, to releases across the Indo House spectrum, he has become a central figure in shaping the genre and bringing South Asian voices to the global electronic stage. Indo Warehouse, co-founded by Merchant and Kahani in 2022, has evolved from its underground origins in New York into an international movement. Their live shows are immersive experiences, rituals where identity, tradition, and club culture collide, and their releases continue to push the boundaries of house and techno while remaining deeply grounded in their origins. With ‘Bombay Acid’, Merchant and Kumari deliver a production that is both hypnotic and expansive, inviting listeners
into a universe where rhythm, culture, and underground energy meet in unison.

It runs through the minds of men and women of a certain age, complexion, and place who grew up during the era of segregation and who defied their parents, the law, and all genteel propriety and custom by answering one bluesman's invitation to cross the color line and join him getting lowdown and dirty as he serenaded a generation from the bandstand, on jukeboxes, and through the radio.

To them, the slurred guttural sound of a wise man singing "Hush, Hush," putting down the "Big Boss Man" or advising the listener to "Take Out Some Insurance" before they behold the "Bright Lights, Big City" was a siren's call they had no choice but to answer. Even if they tried, they couldn't resist the steady, dirty rhythm punctuated by the twanging sting of an electric guitar note and the sweet wail of a harmonica. And when they leaned in close, they could even hear the barely perceptible sound of a woman's voice whispering forgotten lyrics into an ear.

Ain't nobody can do Jimmy Reed like Jimmy Reed could. But this drive down Jimmy Reed Highway with fellow Mississippian Kent "Omar" Dykes at the wheel with Jimmie Vaughan (older brother of the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan) riding shotgun and folks like, Kim Wilson, Miss Lou Ann Barton, James Cotton, Delbert McClinton, and Gary Clark, Jr., joining the duo, comes mighty close. As Omar guns the engine and peels rubber on the two- lane blacktop lined with no- good women, empty whiskey bottles, too many cigarette butts and bad intentions, he leaves John Law trailing behind eating his dust. Einem US-Metalfan die Band Griffin zu erklären hieße Eulen nach Athen tragen. Während das Debüt noch traditionellen Heavy Metal in Reinkultur bietet, tendierte die Gruppe um den außergewöhnlichen Sänger William McKay in Richtung Speed- und Thrash Metal, aber ohne dabei ihre Trademarks einzubüßen. „Protectors Of The Lair“ erschien 1986 bei Steamhammer/SPV. Musikalisch war man am Puls der Zeit, doch der Stil kann auch ebenso als kauzig und individuell bezeichnet werden. Das größte Manko war allerdings immer der dünne Sound, der sich fast nur in den Mitten und Höhen abspielte. Dies wurde nun gleich doppelt behoben!

Es ergab sich das seltene Glück, dass die originalen 24-Spur-Bänder noch vorlagen und nach einigen Reparaturen überspielt werden konnten. Somit war nicht nur ein Remaster möglich, sondern ein Remix, der von Neudi 2020 angefertigt wurde und nun die LP 1 füllt. Die zweite Scheibe beinhaltet den Original Mix von 1986, allerdings remastert von Patrick Engel (Metal Blade, High Roller, etc.).

Hammers Rule gelten als Kultgruppe des US-Metal, deren LP „Show No Mercy“ und EP „After The Bomb“ (1984/1985) heute gesuchte Sammlerobjekte sind. Man wollte sich vom Härtegrad nicht festlegen und decken dadurch ein enorm breites Spektrum des US-Metal ab. Während die ersten vier Tracks zwischen Epic-, Heavy- und Speed Metal liegen (ebenso die beiden EP-Tracks „Kamikaze“ und „Stop The World“), war die B-Seite der Original-LP etwas zugänglicher und passt auch gut zum hohen Haarsprayverbrauch der Achtziger. Doch auch diese Stücke stecken voller Energie und Spielwitz. Einer der Gründe ist die unfassbar gute Rhythmussektion aus Drummer Chuck Hohn und Bassist Shaun Henley.

Die beiden Musiker operierten auf einem Niveau wie Steve Harris und Nicko McBrain (Iron Maiden). Zudem ersetzt der Bass durch das kräftige Spiel und die Präsenz im Mix auf beeindruckende Weise eine zweite Gitarre. Das Album und auch die EP wurden weitestgehend live im Studio aufgenommen. Golden Core war das erste Label, bei dem die verbleibenden Bandmitglieder einer Wiederveröffentlichung zugestimmt haben. Die Golden Core LP enthält die EP-Tracks als 7“ Single.

Legendry haben 2020 eine spannende EP mit drei Coverversionen (u.a. „Metal“ von Manilla Road) und einem neuen, eigenen Song (das titelgebende „Heavy Metal Adventure“) eingespielt, die auch optisch ins Konzept der drei Vorgänger passt. Wer auf Epic Metal steht kommt um „Heavy Metal Adventure“ nicht herum!

Die Formation besteht aus Erech von Lothringen, der alle Intrumente bedient, und Sängerin Anna de Savoy. Der Name Erech von Lothringen ist in Underground-Zirkeln nicht gänzlich unbekannt, ist der Wiener doch Urbeber zahlreicher verschiedener Projekte, vorzugsweise aus dem Black-Metal-Bereich, wobei die Interessen des Bandleaders deutlich breitgefächerter liegen. Beim neuen »Romantik III« handelt es sich um ein ausgesprochen eingängiges, sehr melodisches Album, das hier und gar nicht so düster klingt, wie die Songtitel vermuten lassen könnten. Im positiven Sinne grenzt das Material hier und da schon an Pop („Fallen From Grace“), wobei natürlich (fast) immer Melancholie mitschwingt. Auf »Romantik III« wird Erech von Lothringen unterstützt von Schlagzeuger Fabio Alessandrini (bekannt von Annihilator, Bonfire und Enforcer). Des weiteren sind als Gastsängerinnen neben der beeindruckenden Anna de Savoy aktiv: Maria Nesh von Red Eye Temple, Sarah Kitteringham von Smoulder sowie Damna von Elvenking.

Recorded in Switzerland and mastered in Madrid, on Deságua Mello blends classical harp training with experimental techniques, creating a rich sonic journey that pushes the boundaries of the instrument. Brazilian harpist and composer Marina Mello presents Deságua, her solo debut released by the Peruvian label Buh Records. Based in Zurich, Mello has developed a unique and expressive approach to the harp, combining her classical training with a deep exploration of the instrument's sonic possibilities. Deságua is the result of this process: an intimate and expansive work that traverses sonic landscapes rich in contrast and texture. In the artist's own words, this album is a synthesis of material developed through her musical practice. The title refers to the Portuguese word that describes the moment a river flows into the sea. This concept guides the album's sonic narrative, in which each piece functions as a tributary flowing into an immersive and unexpected listening experience. From bittersweet whale-like sounds to destructive, unsettling, and shattering noise provocations, she explores, senses, and transcends the musical boundaries of her instrument. The album presents a wide range of sounds and styles, yet maintains a strong internal coherence through its technical and conceptual exploration of the harp. Mello performs on both lever and pedal harps, employing a range of non-traditional techniques: preparing the instrument with objects, using guitar effects pedals, detuning the strings, and using close mic recording to capture the subtlest sounds and the shifts that lie between them. The result is a collection of pieces that move between the melodic and the dissonant. Deságua does not shy away from repetition, noise, or raw textures. Instead, it embraces them fully, situating the album at the crossroads of contemporary music, improvisation, and electronic experimentation.

Focusing on tracks released between the late 1970s and 1980s, the selection spans from major artists beloved by music fans—such as Terumasa Hino and Sadao Watanabe—to hidden gems.
Carefully curated not by fame or signature songs, but with an emphasis on "fresh-sounding tracks to rediscover now," it’s a collection tailor-made for fans of city pop and DJs digging into Japanese grooves.
The jacket design was specially illustrated by STEREOTENNIS, known for their popular 1980s-inspired graphics.

Berlin’s Limited White Label presents the vinyl debut of New York City-based composer, producer, and drummer Zachary Berns. A fixture of NYC’s jazz and underground scenes, Berns has built a reputation through boundary-crossing projects (notably “zbeeez” and jazz/hip-hop collective “poetic thrust”), collaborations with rising artists across R&B, jazz, and electronic music, and acclaimed appearances at parties such as “Soul in the Horn”. With LTDWLBL011, he steps forward under his full name for the first time, delivering a statement that bridges his dual lineage in jazz and house/electronic/club music.

First time release on vinyl of the breathtaking songs Patty Waters recorded with engineer Steve Atkins in 1970 at the Coast Recordings studio, together with the unreleased single 'My One And Only Love' and a recorded live session at Lone Mountain College in 1974.

The album 'You Loved Me' is the missing link between her two groundbreaking pioneering and highly acclaimed ESP-Disk records from the end of the 60's and her post 90's releases. The missing link between the radical ingenue of the 1960s and her late 90's songs wherein she expressed the resolution of all of her life's moments through mature readings of traditional songs and jazz standards. This collection aims to provide that missing link and to finally complete the picture of her storied recording career.

In what would have been her third LP, the 'You Loved Me' album serves as the inverse of Patty's debut. While her debut "Sings" concerned itself with themes of heartbreak, loneliness and yearning, there's an abundance of love, joy and togetherness on "You Loved Me".

On 'You Loved Me' Patty Waters velvet voice captures this longing for love, straight from her soul to your heart. Crossing the border of the avant garde jazz entering a strange zone, somewhere between spiritual jazz, early folk vibes on the songs on the A-sides while the 14 minute composition 'Touched By Rodin In A Paris Museum' on the B-side is (dixit David Stubbs for Uncut in 2004) a brilliant extended showcase for the uneasy Cageian minimalism of her piano playing.

'You Loved Me' proves also again why Albert Ayler introduced her to ESP-Disk president Bernard Stollman, impressed Miles Davis, Pharoah Sanders and Henry Grimes with her concerts and can count Patti Smith and Yoko Ono (to name a few) amongst her fans.

Talulah’s Tape is the debut offering from magnetic Midwest-jangle collective Good Flying Birds. Across a patchwork mixtape of stripped-down home recordings that span the independent-guitar spectrum, the band delivers colorful, intricate pop songs perched between the immediacy of DIY punk and the intimate sweetness of twee. Breakbeats, memes, and noise glue everything together, making the album feel as chronically online as it is timeless.

Originally released on cassette in January 2025 by Midwest-punk legend Martin Meyers’s Rotten Apple label, the tape sold more than 300 copies in under a month and quickly became an out-of-print and coveted item. Meyers called it “certified catnip for popheads.” Now, with a refined track list and a fresh master from Greg Obis, Talulah’s Tape returns on LP and CD via Carpark and Smoking Room in October 2025.

While production and approach vary, a through-line of sensitive self-contemplation rests on bright, scrappy guitars and hyperactive melodic bass. Opener “Down on Me” rides a buoyant bass line while jangling guitars frame reflections on overcoming trauma: “I see you in the mirror every time I cry / I hear your voice every time I try.” Next, the guitars trade twinkling counter-melodies on “I Care for You,” pairing sugary, lovestruck lyrics with effervescent strums: “You catch me when I fall / You build me up so tall.”

The rosy grin occasionally twists into a wicked smirk. “Dynamic” warns, “You used to paint the face, but now you’re just the clown,” while “Glass” asks, “Is it lonely at the top when everyone follows the trend, and you hold the pen?” Both tracks brim with sparkling guitar interplay. By the closing, nearly five-minute “Last Straw,” Good Flying Birds stand far beyond conventional indie-pop or 4-track punk, unveiling a roller-coaster of unpredictable changes, vocal harmonies, and instrumental cross-talk.

Altogether, Talulah’s Tape is a pastel-yellow, candy-coated shell filled with thoughtful juxtapositions and melodic experiments. Standing on the same ground as idiosyncratic songwriters like Connie Converse and Daniel Johnston, Good Flying Birds find sweetness in sadness, tear stains on a colorful flower-print couch. Simultaneously, it’s packed with the scratchy guitars and vibrant rhythms of Scottish guitar groups like The Pastels, Orange Juice, and Josef K. It’s a tremendous opening statement from a band just getting started.

After their first joint recording experience in 2022, in which they dedicated a monograph to the Beatles, revisiting their great classics,
Sarah Jane Morris, a British jazz, rock, and R&B singer and songwriter, and the Solis String Quartet, a Neapolitan string quartet with
extensive concert and recording experience, are embarking on a new album. This time, it's not a monograph, but a tribute to a series
of artists who have left an indelible mark on the universal music world with their art and unique lifestyle. The project is titled "The 27
Club," a reference to those artists who, despite not choosing to belong to any elite circle, were united by the fate of having left this
world too soon, at just 27 years old. Among them are great names such as Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, Amy
Winehouse, and Otis Redding. Despite their differences, these artists share a charisma and a passion for music that has made them
immortal. Their musical legacy continues to celebrate their memory and inspire new generations. The album is a tribute to these timeless
artists, whose songs remain timeless and continue to move. Forever Young.
