Civilistjävel! returns to Copenhagen label FELT with a four track EP following on from 2022's Järnnätter album.

Equally well placed next to the Biosphere / early Fax +49-69/450464 camp as well as various decades of electro-acoustic drone practitioners, Fyra platser (Four Places) also includes a trip-hop leaning collaboration with Cucina Povera. Whilst Järnnätter drew influence from the cyclical, chasmic nature of dub techno, Fyra platser hones further in on the ‘between’ areas in a minimal, reductivist fashion. The rhythms are there to follow but are primarily beatless and more expansive, though skewing perceptions of time in the same trademark manner.

Three locations in the Nordingrå area of the Swedish high coast are exorcised and channelled through sound. ‘Kolugn’ is a deliberately grainy, sepia-tinged continuation of the likes of Robert Rutman’s work across the 70s American avant-garde. It sits in contrast to the more obviously synthesis-led direction of fellow longform piece ‘Valmsta’. The location slowly changes to Finland via Athens, scenes of cafe conversations and hazy polaroids informing the lyrics of ‘Louhivesi’. The result sounds like a 90s illbient record dropped around 30 bpm and the stylus has caught on a perennial 8-bar loop. The balance of Cucina Povera’s cold, reverb-heavy vocal inflections drive the track into another dimension. If Moral were the Scandi Joy Division, this pairing must be the Scandi Massive Attack.

The A side 'Higher' is a happy house summer festival banger, inspired by getting high from the music, and the B side 'Show Me What You Got' is an eerie slice of breaksy techno, reminiscent of the early UR sound.

On the remix is Ukranian SE62, famed for his releases on labels like My Love Is Underground and Slapfunk. He reworks the original into a dubby summer laid back deep house minimal cut.

The first two releases sold out on vinyl, had plays on BBC Radio1, BBC 6Music, have rave reviews in dance music press, as well as being Mixmag's techno 'Tune Of The Month', and was also supported by some of the biggest and most respected selectors in the scene such as Ben UFO. Adeen Records hits a quarter of a century of releases with two of Italy's finest talents reimagining Collecttivo Immaginario's jazz-tinged gem 'Aperture' through a club-centric lens. Label regular Nico Lahs transforms the original into a peak-time weapon layered with stacked drums and deep basslines while smartly preserving its soulful core. On the B-side, New Digital Fidelity delivers a groove-heavy interpretation that retains the jazz essence while adding a hypnotic rhythmic drive perfect for deeper sets. Congo Lion was immersed in African, Afro-Caribbean and reggae music from an early age. Settling in Africa when he was a teenager, he was strongly inspired by artists such as Burning Spear, Peter Tosh or The Gladiators. Convictions and values carried by their captivating melodies, full of humanity and spirituality, echo the sensitivity of Congo Lion. “Word, power and sound” is the foundation of his creative approach, inviting a return to origins, and openness to others. Self-taught, he composed his first songs in English and Jamaican Patois under the name of Natty Congo, at the age of 16. Most of his recent collaborations have been alongside the renowned Reggae producer, Karigan. Recording at his Back to Basic Studio, to produce a Reggae Roots Vintage sound, without concession, harking back to the original creations & tradition of the 70s & 80s.

dgoHn (pronounced “John") is the moniker of John Cunnane, who hails from somewhere between London and Essex. ‘Tessares,’ his fourth album but his first for Planet Mu, is playful, unconventional drum & bass that contrasts sparse effects and melodic elements with complex drumfunk and breakcore. He often uses unusual time signatures and head-spinning polyrhythms inspired by jazz and math rock, sometimes within the same track. Somehow he makes it sound effortless, and occasionally pretty as well, keeping a fine balance that never feels punishing; exploratory without getting lost.

He's built a name for himself over the last two decades performing live at festivals and events around the world, while collaborating with fellow artists such as Macc, Nic TVG, Jodey Kendrick and Badun as well as solo releases.


The album opens with ‘Waiting For’ which combines complex breaks with melodic fills, spacey effects and dubbed out vocals that feel like snatches of lost conversations - a combination he uses throughout the album giving it an eerie touch of humanity. Lead single ‘I Couldn't Remember So I Made Something Up’ is in 15/8 time. It feels like a conventional melodic drum & bass track, but the time signature disrupts the listeners’ expectations, while the detuned melody eases its sense of dislocation. ’Whistling On A Tuesday’ opens with a light echoey piano countdown into bass stabs which introduce heavy whirling amen breakbeats that switch between 180 and 120 bpm. ’Holly Can Swim But She Doesn’t Really Like It’ is the most rhythmically challenging track here. It feels hard to hang on to as its knotty breaks play out over bell chimes, like something Autechre might make if jungle was in their DNA. The album ends on the dubbed-out drumfunk of ‘7 Years Or More,’ with an arrangement that builds a filmic, dusty atmosphere of chimes and electric guitar, layering in vocals, vinyl crackle and echoing synth giving way to tough drums, before all that is taken away so that just a voice remains.

Doctr is no stranger to the Bordello. Now You Can Fly is his third visit to the label, his first with company. Paired with Julia, the offering is pure peak-time elation. Bending bars are cut through by beats and synth stabs, Doctr building a palpable energy with vocals synergising perfectly. Daring key shifts unveil the full track, inspirational words and melodic wizardry waltzing arm-in-arm. Flying ever higher, electrical pulses of hi-nrg jolt this dancefloor burner. Julia’s vocals are parred back for the flip, leaving those sun-kissed synthlines to soar above calypso-infused percussion. Two works of sheer happiness; just what the Doctr ordered.

The second release on Outer Heaven Sound is back to build on the foundations of their first EP with more "stripped-back drum & bass built around weight, space and detailed breakwork". Jungle influences loom large here, but reworked with stripped back style that never lets any pressure out of the low ends. Effra kicks it off with the crunchy textures and hammering rhythms of 'The Vault' while Outer Heaven goes deeper with 'Bring It,' which is a nimble stepper. Jay B's 'The Walk' is a cacophonous breakbeat assault that sounds like a cartoon fight that happens in a cloud of dust with the occasional limb popping out. Artilect closes with a more restrained moodiness of 'Nyra'.

One of Stockholm’s finest exports, Elfenberg arrive at Bordello with four slices of synthesizer goodness. The duo open with “Forever Alone”. A cruising arpeggiator steers its way through glistening snares, rolling kicks and classic italo vocals. Night falls in the jungle “Conga Coronation”. The treetops bristle with birdsong, thickets of bongos, toms and rain sticks lead a path to dawning melodies. A wonderfully textured percussive piece, the track is intricately carved and demonstrates the diversity and depth of Elfenberg. The disco dipped futurism of “Sphere Of Missing Out” follows. Echoes of “Conga Coronation” rhythms are countered by beaming synth bars and vocoder lyrics with the Swedish pair pushing for the floor. “Cosmic Tribune” is the curtain close. Astral chords, spiralling key shifts and incising drums coalesce in this space inspired finale. A truly stunning debut from this talented partnership.

This is a bit of a rare gem from the Ellis Dee. Back in 1995 he made the track 'Synthetic Disco' but for some unknown reason (I'll have to ask him and let you know) it was never released and remained a mystical track lost in time. The flipside 'Atmosphere' was only released as part of the Total Science 2 compilation that came out in 1996. Both tracks compliment each other beautifully and are both very much on a similar tip to his Norty But Nice 12" that we put out a few years ago. Deep but rolling drum and bass for the massive!

A selector, producer and label head at the top of his game, Enzo Siragusa continues to prove exactly why he’s held in such high regard as a staple of the underground music scene. While developments have seen the FUSE boss adjust his approach, recent months have combined a wealth of studio time with the unveiling of new projects – most recently announcing the launch of his new genre-bending all-night-long event series, E:Dimension. Yet, there’s something about a release from Siragusa on home turf that stands out amongst the pack, with productions like ‘Sagamore’, ‘Desire’, ‘Flexin’ and the ‘Kilimanjaro’ cuts instantly recognisable after just a few seconds, and the same looks set to happen as he makes his highly-anticipated return with his first solo material on the label for over two years. Unveiling one of his most heavily requested tracks to date alongside further peak-time business on the flip, April finally welcomes the arrival of the two-track ‘Nothing Matters’.

A track that’s been making waves for months, ‘ICV (Double Flake Mix)’ brings the sub-shaking, cavernous reese bassline now captured by many across the globe as Siragusa launches into his signature blend of heads-down, hands-up sonics, while the vinyl-only dub delves into afterparty territories to offer up an exclusive version for wax owners. The Reflex has been busy of late and, though already a proven master of multi-track mixes and mash-ups, he keeps on reaching new heights with each new drop. This is one of several coming in quick succession and finds him dropping the final part of his label Discolidays' collaboration with the Zagora catalogue, which features tunes by Thomas Bangalter's pops, Daniel Vangarde. Here it is the Gibson Brothers' disco belter 'Heaven' that gets beefed up with bright strings and unrelenting drums, driving you to a place of sheer joy. A more obscure sound come son the flip with uptempo drums and sumptuous musicianship laid down by some of the best of the disco era in Paris.

Some records feel like they should have existed. This is one of them.Originally buried as an album cut in the catalog of C. C. Catch, ‘Stop – Draggin’ My Heart Around’ never received the maxi single treatment it always deserved. For decades, fans of Dieter Bohlen’s signature sound have been left wondering what could have been… no extended mix, no dub, no proper club version… Until now.

Julie Chrome steps in with a strikingly faithful reinterpretation, capturing the emotional tone and melodic essence of the original, while Ryan Benson carefully reconstructs the sonic blueprint, staying true to that unmistakable mid-80s German disco aesthetic of Luis Rodriguez. Think shimmering synths, tight Linn-style drums and that bittersweet, dramatic tension Bohlen/Rodriguez and Co. perfected. But this release goes further than nostalgia. On this maxi, the track finally unfolds the way it always should have. Fully extended, club-ready, and built for the dancefloor. The Long Version delivers that essential 80s arc: slow build, emotional lift, and extended instrumental passages made for mixing. The Dub Version strips it back into a hypnotic tool, pure drums, synth stabs and atmosphere, tailored for late-night transitions and deeper sets. Karkossyn returns to the shadows with Undergrowth, a harrowing descent into the Bristolian void that pushes dark drum and bass into its most predatory forms. The EP opens with a cold, eerie prologue. A warning that constructs a menacing world before the listener is dragged into the sonic abyss.

Drawing from dnb, trip-hop, and jungle, the soundscapes are characterized by a visceral dread birthed from the dampest corners of the South West. These tracks are built on distorted bass, gritty drums, and raw percussion, layered with atmospheric drones that heighten the feeling of suspense throughout.

Adding to the murk, Bristol’s own Pessimist provides a remix that results in a skeletal, rhythmic haunting. It is a definitive statement of UK dread, solidifying Karkossyn’s place as an uncompromising architect of industrial-tinged carnage.

Marking a milestone for the imprint, this serves as Erosion’s first physical release.

There are records that do not so much belong to an era as they pass through it, leaving traces rather than statements, circulating in the margins where function outweighs discourse. World Cup, written at the end of the 1990s by Kiko, emerged in precisely that way — as a techno track whose presence was felt less through promotion than through repetition, carried from booth to booth, absorbed into the working vocabulary of DJs who recognized in it something immediate and self-evident. Its architecture is minimal yet insistent, driven by tension and release, a form of clarity that resists ornament and instead privileges duration, pressure, and movement.

When it resurfaced in 2006, it did not return as a revision but as a continuation, reaffirming its role within the ecology of the dancefloor. The same internal logic remained intact, allowing it to re-enter circulation without friction, as though it had simply been waiting to be picked up again. In both instances, the track operates less as a fixed object than as a tool — something to be used, extended, and recontextualized in real time.

Bringing together these two versions alongside Tainted Life, the release traces a subtle but telling trajectory. If World Cupdefines a certain techno functionalism, Tainted Life reveals another dimension: a proto-Italo sensibility that gestures toward what would later coalesce as electroclash, not through stylistic declaration but through texture, tone, and attitude. Long absent from digital circulation and largely confined to obscurity, it appears here not as a rediscovery, but as a piece whose relevance has simply remained latent.

Nothing has been added, nothing has been altered beyond what was necessary to restore presence. The recordings are allowed to exist in their own continuity, detached from the temporal markers that might otherwise confine them.

The artwork, conceived by H5, extends this approach into the visual field. Its restraint is not aesthetic minimalism for its own sake, but a form of structural clarity, where composition and absence articulate a space in which the record can be encountered without interference, as if resurfacing from a parallel timeline that never fully closed.

Gladio Operations continues its expansion into the electro universe and, with this fourteenth release, lands in Viking lands, giving Danish producer Martin Stoffregen his debut on the label.

This artist, who releases his work under the alias Krypton 81, is no stranger to the scene, having released on major labels such as Bass Agenda and Mars Frequency, among others.

On this EP, entitled “Quantum Entanglement”, we sense a breath of fresh air in its three original tracks, which are refined and elegant. With strong sequences and adorned with sublime textures, we encounter “Binary Encoding”, the track that opens the EP and shows us the way to “Particle Proximity” and “Quantum Computing”. These two Kraftwerk-flavoured tracks are imbued with captivating melodies and subtle vocals, transporting us to an infinite emotional state of continuous well-being.

This EP is reinforced with two heavyweight remixes. The first is by producer Univac, who returns to the label and gives us his particular vision of “Binary Encoding”, once again showcasing his unmistakable and classic industrial sound, dark and emotive. The second remix is by German producer Vertical67, who gives “Quantum Computing” more hypnotic tones than the original

Melodize is bringing the world back on the dance floor with Lauer and his 4-track “K1m Fantasy” EP. Behind the label is Brooklyn-based DJ and musician Beartrax, who is known for his groovy yet moody compositions. Philipp Lauer, known as Lauer, is a true veteran in the electronic music sphere, with over 20 years of experience, yet his sound remains novel and fresh.

This time, Melodize and Lauer shape the world of a fantasy dance floor where everything is possible. “K1m Fantasy” starts with Lauer letting his confidence shine through as an experienced professional with a signature sound in the first track “Boss Electro”, which will inevitably showcase why he’s the boss.

The playful tune of “Rabbits” takes the listener on a journey through electro-induced synths much like the image of curious rabbits playing on a grass field. The eponymous B-side “K1m Fantasy,” with its steadily unfolding mellow soundscape, is an introspective piece exploring the fantastical world of the techno dance floor where all becomes one.

Lauer’s last treat is “Choirs,” where brassy exclamations take turns with a haunting choir of electronic voices, reminding us that unity is key to pleasure and existence.

Shine Grooves: "This story began in 2008, at that time I dreamed of launching my own music label and was searching for something unique. I was looking for music in different sources and came across the Frunk29's tracks, this is how I met Marat Shainsky, his release was the first on the Biotronic Records (the label I owned in the mid-00s). Later Marat introduced me to his friend - Sergey Lazarev, aka Lazzich and we immediately put together the next release for the label. It was wonderful and hypnotizing music I had never heard before. After some time we prepared the material for the first Biotronic Vinyl, which was authored by Lazzich, but the release did not happen, due to certain circumstances. And now, 15 years later, the idea comes true, we release the Lazzich mini-album on the Hanagasumi 04. Although Sergey is no longer with us, but his music will live forever. Thanks to everyone who took a part in the search for materials, archives, projects, sketches. Special thanks to Shipulina Yana for providing information and cooperation, Marat Shainsky for the advice and tracks searching, Matvey Andreenko for giving me the large media archive of Lazzich's works, Denis Rooter for designing the cover, Semen Pupyshev for mixing the found Sergey's Reason-projects".

The brainchild of two lifelong friends, HOTBOX presents its sonic manifesto through a debut VA compilation. An incredibly important but left behind album from 1994 originally on the Concrete label and now fully remastered & reissued. Three piece Opik, which consisted of Murray Clark, Chris Deverell and Robert Ellerby delivered some of the most bustling, pulsating, instrumental electronic music of the 90’s.
