London based producer and DJ O’Flynn has announced his debut album ‘Aletheia’, to be released 6th September 2019 on Silver Bear Recordings, and shared the second single ‘Painted Wolf’, out 21st June 2019.

His latest release follows a series of acclaimed productions which explored his wide-ranging style: from squelchy acid on Ninja Tune to loose and luscious jazz on Blip Discs, as well as the high-octane 12” released on his own Hundred Flowers imprint earlier this year.

With standout 12” debuts ‘Tyrion’ and ‘Desmond’s Empire’ in 2015, O’Flynn quickly established his reputation as “one of dance music’s most prosperous newcomers”, as put by Boiler Room.

Having gained support from Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, Bonobo, Denis Sulta, James Blake and Hessle Audio and his debut album forthcoming, he continues his musical evolution to become a resonant force within dance music.

The 9th release on Omena LTD features Steve Mahon aka Embezzlement Society. With appearances on labels such as Banofee Pies, Roots For Bloom Records and Tenderpark, to name but a few, Steven is carving out his own sound, blending rhythms and deep chords with a brilliant touch.

Extra prolific Russian born Alex Pletnev has been making music under various aliases and in a number of live bands. Now settled in Vilnius he explores stellar chugging rhythms, afro and oriental vibes for labels like Media Fury and Bahnsteig23 and more atmospheric, dark and industrial EPs on Le Temps Perdu records. This new one is “the tale of an imaginary world, a babel myth of when human beings were together as one because they spoke a single language. It is an allusion of No Border movement supporting freedom of mobility and fighting human immigration control.”

This fantastic release is the most club focussed music Pletnev has ever produced with instrumental, heady opener ‘Guest from Bangkok’ really locking you in a groove. Loose percussion and churning drums make for dark disco of the highest order. Then comes ‘Peep of Dawn,’ an almost frightening, long and slow ceremony of menacing electronic music. A voice resonates while powerful bass sends shivers down your spine and the whole atmospheric and absorbing affair really casts a spell.

Excellent punchy guitar riffs and shamanic rhythms on ‘Red Shoes’ reminds you of a run to catch the setting sun. It’s another spellbinding and rock-laced disco track that oozes grit and rawness. With the closing track, BPitch Control man Sascha Funke remixes ‘My Word Against Yours' into a cosmic and jerky affair that alludes to a journey into outer space. It’s sparse and creepy and brilliantly evocative.

Once again here, the Hard Fist label—which has its own residency at Paris’s mighty Rex Club—tells its unique story with forward thinking club music full of a wide array of influences.

Limited edition remastered reissue of Funky Family, the italo disco studio project from 1984. This production features Nicola Nicolosi from Nicolosi Family (we can remember him on Amnesie by Turas) and represents a real example of proto-house that became a Chicago classic regularly played by Ron Hardy at Muzic Box and during WBMX radio shows. This edition has the full instrumental cut on the side two instead of the short radio edit available on the original one.

Mount Liberation Unlimited are Tom and Niklas, two Swedes from space who have spent the last 5 years

carving out a particularly vivid niche in contemporary electronic music. Their previous work has seen them

connect with an impressive list of global dance powerhouses: New York's Beats In Space, Melbourne's

Superconscious and Munich's Permanent Vacation have all released 12'' heat from the duo, while their

hometown buddies at Studio Barnhus provided an outlet for what has been perhaps their biggest and boldest

release yet, 2017's double smash single Double Dance Lover. Their live shows are fervent, fast-paced and very

multi-instrumental affairs, performed non-stop at an increasingly prestigious list of clubs and festivals, serving

Legendary Italian house/deep house DJ and producer Don Carlos based in Varese, North Italy. Active since the late 70s. His productions have mixing house rhythms with afro-american jazz sounds, verging sometime towards disco, sometime towards deep house or electronic soul. There's a similarly warm and hazy feel to second cut "Analog Express", where a nagging bassline and chillin' beats come wrapped in sunrise-ready electronics, toasty chords and more cut-up old school jazzy house. Elegant, well produced classic deep house with sensual jazzy and smooth synth elements that sound really good on any equipment. It was also the day that disco went underground for real.

Here is the first offering of Rock Sucks! a label where forgotten disco and boogie will finally get its revenge.

These two gems were made in 1983 and they've been ignored for far too long.

When Smallpeople went touring Australia for the third time in 2016, we played a gig in Brisbane and had an amazing time hanging with James Hilan, a young gun from the local scene-
a heavy vinyl collector and bad-ass DJ. He took us to the Wheel of Brisbane for our first Vape experience ever and after some good laughs we became friends. When James sent over
some of his deep yet pumping tracks a few years later we were blown away and when we played them out at our monthly residency at Golden Pudel in Hamburg we decided to gave

It’s no secret that the Irish know how to party. That energy is epitomised in the bubbling scene of homegrown talent rising through the ranks all over the island. House of Disco, having recently moved back to the Irish shores, let loose their first 4 track sampler EP in 7 years, ‘Home Turf’, showcasing the best in under-represented young Irish producers.

Taking the first slot, Dublin’s LPM hones in on that signature HoD sound with some expertly interlaced late ‘70s samples, reworked and repackaged into a bomb of a filtered, disco house, hand-raiser that’s got sunshine stamped into it’s very core. Newbridge locals, Mix & Fairbanks then offer up a deep, synth-laden gem, drenched in weighty stabs, analogue melodies and squiggling top lines.

On the flipside, the young gun from Killarney, Shee gets soulful for ‘Me You Us’ with low-slung vocal samples and hazy pads layered over the top of swirling disco loops. Lastly, Wicklow native Purple Ice signs off this killer Irish EP with a blissful, piano infused groover that’s eyes closed ecstasy from start to finish.

The mysterious mischief makers Cannon & Mirrorball are back with another slice of sample-heavy dancefloor madness for ya'll.

The A side is all about feverish disco breaks, strings, cowbells, crowd noise, and ear-worm riffs and old school raps to keep the club pumping.
It's a melting pot of park jam throwback energy at its finest, and is a guaranteed hoot to the last drop.

There's a story behind all the releases I've put out in recent years.
I usually try not to bore people with the details, but this one is about my own mental health crisis back in the mid noughties.
The upshot was, I ended up trying to do the ultimate unthinkable. Luckily, I failed in my attempt, and ended up seeing a psychologist for a number of sessions.

Music has always been around for me, when I'm high or when things aren't so good, and I wrote these tracks roundabout that period.
I see them as a reflection of my experiences of the journey through clinical therapy. And in addition, the act of writing them was probably my own therapy for myself, letting things out in the form of music, though I most likely didn't see it at the time.

The tracks chart my progress from initial complete alienation at the start of therapy, through to the light at the end of the tunnel at the end of the session programme.
The original track was written and completed in 2004, and the other versions would have been started roughly at the same time, with additional production to complete them taking place this year (2019).
To my ears, they're as ever my own take on Techno - Detroit's in the mix, but also Sheffield, and of course current hometown Manchester. The Soundcloud algorithm heard disco, but also synthpop, electronic rock and chiptune.
So we can probably agree on influences such as Cabaret Voltaire, UR and Robert Gordon.

Kane will be helming this label, curating work and providing his own productions and remixes.

Starts off side A with 'Real' - A soulful disco romp that has a gospel force as well as a powerful vocal performance. The song grooves from its first beat, and pushes the energy as it builds. "Now it's time to be real..." Edit as manifesto - Pure heat! The edit work here comes from one of the OG's of serious digging, Senior Reyes aka Jersey Pete.

Side B brings 'Action' as its first track, complementing the A Side, this is some dirty late night Philadelphia bar nastiness, mentholated disco with a humid female vocal, "I like to party, I like to flirt..."

Side B closes out with 'Motion', a slice of cosmic funkiness that laments a love that is not happening while a thick bassline moves the proceedings along.
This song has heartbreak and the haze of an early morning on the dancefloor.

Dennis Kane is a DJ and producer based in NYC, he has run the Disques Sinthomme and Ghost Town labels and is also a partner in the recording group SIREN, (with Darshan Jesrani) on Compost records.
Kane has produced numerous tracks and done remix work for Cantoma, Liz Torres, The Phenomenal Handclap Band, and Hokis Pokis among others.
He has been a DJ in NYC since the mid 90's holding down numerous residencies and touring worldwide.

Fantastic Voyage kicks off the first vinyl focused label, Fantastic Wax, with Hong Kong based vinyl aficionado, and owner of Pharmacy Records and Fauve Radio, Romain FX. Inspired by his love and respect for African music and it's deep roots, Romain approached it with a modern mindset to give a second life to the tracks that we're disappearing due to the lack of accessibility and rarity of these records.

Over on side B we have Salsoul Orchestra's evergreen early 80's jam 'Take Some Time Out' being tweaked and The Jammers 'Be Mine Tonight', another total killer from the vaults.

Notorious disco protagonist, DJ and producer, Al Kent returns with his latest dance-floor tour de force. His updated take on 'Gold Wave' is a tasteful reinterpretation of Japanese producer Waq Takahashi's tribute to the soulful roots of vintage disco.
Clocking in at an epic 11+ minutes it's wholesome, uplifting and unsurprisingly reminiscent of a classic Walter Gibbons rework. With incredibly tight musicianship and accomplished production, complimented by soaring orchestration, It's hard to believe this was recorded in Japan in the 21st Century and is not some long lost Vince Montana recording that's been gathering dust in a New York recording studio since 1976!

'Palais' is a 12 track multi-faceted exploration of Kris Baha's musical sensitivity. The one man band's namesake LP title, 'Palais' is based around the concepts of alienation, detachment, melancholia and lust. All songs written, performed, recorded and mixed by Kris between 2015 - 2018 in Berlin, laced in his signature industrial sound. 'Palais' encompasses a range of shades from dance-floor works ' Living Nothingness', 'Brink Reality (Part 2)' & 'Non For The Sane' to experimental cinematic undertones 'You Told Yourself This Would Get Worse'. Also embodied are modern classics like the machine funk metallics of 'Steel Sands' and 'Defied', a year 2042 cyber punk hit. There's even a dark room inspired theme for the black leather lovers. From his own batch of psychedelia to post-punk and electronic romanticism this album is full of surprises and we at Cocktail d'Amore Music are absolutely proud to present this outstanding work.

We've been trying to get Chicago brother Rahaan on GAMM for quite some time and now we finally managed to lock him down for a solid release!!

As the beautiful purple label art reveals it's all about the man, the myth on side one...Prince!
On the flip Rahaan lays down an early 80's boogie theme that heads probably might recognise. But check that build-up...wow!

UK based Tecwaas background is in the early Yorkshire rave scene, which makes you understand his music on a deeper level. His tasteful turning of knobs on the Roland 303 takes you back to in time to an early morning somewhere round 1990 with a diesel generator pushed to the limit roaring somewhere in the background. But Tecwaas music is a lot more than a trip in time: the sound is modern and extremely well produced where the few but exquisite sounds hook in to each other naturally and creates a round solid groove. The sound varies from airy and light in ”Xentaeh” to warmer and heavier in the other track ”Ci”. What goes for the sound overall is the somewhat surprising elements in how the songs develop, both in rhythm and sound wise. Teecwas music bare traces of trance, rave, early techno and so on but you could call it ”uplifting, psychedelic leftfield house” and this is his first release on Höga Nord Rekords.

Only one year after the big success of "Can You Feel It? Modern Soul, Disco & Boogie 1976-86", Tramp Records is extremely proud to present the second volume in the series. Get up, get down, and get ready for some more highly underrated MODERN SOUL, DISCO and BOOGIE! SIDE A: Cirt Gill's disco bomb "Put The Music In Your Ear" is the perfect tune to open this second Volume. Tony Swamy, originally from Georgetown, Guyana, South America, recorded his one and only 45 in 1978. German saxophonist/band leader Ambros 'Mabusso' Seelos is best known for his 1960s/70s funk outings. "In Orbit" is an insanely groovy disco cut and with this compilation celebrates its debut on vinyl! The Gangbusters unreleased disco banger remained in the can for 38(!) years until Tramp put it out on proper 45rpm single (on clear wax!) in 2018.
SIDE B: The contribution of The Mabin Brothers Band is quite obscure as is "Love Me" by Mr. Maurice, while Maxwell is best known for his funk classic "Radiation Funk". "Meltdown" was recorded around the same time but remained unreleased. Funk 45 collectors watch out as Tramp will put out a strictly limited 7" of both tracks soon - don't sleep! Harry Hann recorded "Bump and Run" in 1977 when The Bump was one of the hottest dances around.

SIDE C: Tyree Glenn Jr. is no new name for the educated Tramp musicologist (check out "Can You Feel It? Vol. 1" and the two recently released 7" reissues "Jealous Love" b/w "Beautiful Woman" and "Superbad" b/w "Marl Sehen"). Jeremy Power's "Ombre De Plaisir" is sung in french, and what a "magnifique" Boogie-Funk track it is! "Intercession" was recorded in 1984 and is also a very fine midtempo Boogie track. Cecil Lyde is best known for his superrare, self-produced Stone Free album from which we pulled "Money's Funny".

SIDE D: The album finishes with four mellow tracks. First of all we have the wonderful "Dear Wendy", followed by the equally great "Lover's Fantasy". Grayson Street delivers the uplifting "Medicine Man" which has a similar positive vibe as the final choice for CYFI 2 by The Fantastic Shakers, Carolina's premier beach music combo. "The Wrong Side Of Me" with its catchy almost pop-ish arrangement closes out the set perfectly.

So there you have it, 16 obscure but brilliant Disco, Modern Soul & Boogie grooves of which the majority have not been compiled anywhere else. Not sure if there will be a third volume in the future, but if the answer to the question: "Can You Feel It?" is "YES!", then we shall see.

Italian producer Giovanni Damico (otherwise known as G-Machine
or Ron Juan) has been busting out funkified gems for more than 10 years now, and his mighty back catalogue includes plenty of turns
on Lumberjacks In Hell. He returns to the label with four crisp and refined slices of boogie business that span a range of tempos to give you plenty of party tackle for any situation.

"The Sound Of Revolution" is a natural choice for the A 1, dripping with cosmic synth flexes and an irresistible groove, while the snappily titled "Italians In A Line" brings a sweet strain of upfront robo-disco to the table.

Tagliabue provides the two original tracks from his AFRO SPAZIO EP released on COSMICA MUSIC in May 2019. With psychedelic atmospherics, deep melodic layers and tribal rhythmic formations, he sets a wonderful palette of cosmic frequencies, to stimulate the remixers visionary powers and creativity. DJ Rocca started to produce in the late 90s, working on some drum&bass and breakbeat singles as Maffia Soundsystem from the same name club in Italy, where he was the main resident DJ. In his career he
collaborated with Howie B, Pressure Drop, Zed Bias, Dimitri From Paris, Daniele Baldelli and Jazzanova producing singles, remixes and albums on some of the best european labels as Sonar Kollektiv, Compost, Classic, Rekids, Skint, Hell Yeah, Rebirth, Internasjonal, Futureboogie Recordings, !K7, Deep Freeze, Tirk,
International Feel, Defected, Skint, Gomma, Paper Recordings. As a producer, DJ Rocca is also part of Ajello (with Taver), Supersonic Lovers (with Marcello Giordani) and Crimea X (with Jukka Reverberi). He has remixed big names such as Oliver Koletzki, Luke Solomon, Blaze, Isolee, Pete Herbert, Bjorn Torske, Chris Coco, Dimitri From Paris, Andrew Weatherall, Justin Robertson, Soul Clap and now our very own Joseph Tagliabue. With the award-winning jazz musician Franco D’Andrea he has formed the Electric Tree Project, a contemporary music trio, hovering between jazz and electronics, with a double album released in April 2016 on Parco Della Musica Records, defined as record of the month for the magazine Musica Jazz (June 2016). The collaboration with such a great name of the jazz scene, moves on with the realisation of an octet and the production of a new album entitled “Intervals I”, recorded live at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome last March 2017. Mushrooms Project is Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano, producers and serial collectors of vinyl with a common passion for dj’ing and for any type of music whatsoever. The project came into being in 2003 when Giorgio, a punk band drummer and vinyl collector with a strong preference for anything from psychedelic rock to Afro, meets Marco a deejay since 1994 who mixes every possible kind of dance music; from afro to house, passing through techno and progressive. 2013 saw their debut album ‘Undergrass’ released on Leng Records, which was a continuous evolution of their sound elaborated in close contact with other musicians.
In 2015, Ivan King, a talented guitarist who had collaborated many times with the Mushrooms Project, became an integral part of their productions. They have now dj’ed across the world and are known for their hallucinating and all encompassing music that is made using live instrumentation such as guitar, bass, synth and percussion to create a “dirty” but unique insight to the very long, deep, mesmerizing and unusual minds of the Mushrooms.
We are proud to showcase a pure Italian collaboration effort. The uprising talents of the new generation of progressive producers meet with the Masters of the Cosmic House genre for an epic production.

Young Pulse steps up on the b-side, to add his own subtle touches and tweaks to the original. Looping the guitar and echoing out the vocals whilst working in more of the synth lines. The addition of a crisp clap and extra percussion add an element more vibrancy into this mix, keeping the original feel intact whilst revitalising it for 2018.

Saturday opens with the ebullient birdsong that, every morning for a few months of the year, joyfully wakes Samoyed from sleep in his hut in the rural North of Scotland. For the rest of the year, the wild land returns to its state of brooding, overcast quietude, and samoyed spends his mornings sitting staring into the middle distance over a bowl of porridge. Recorded slowly and intermittently over the course of four years, Saturday is a document of sixteen of these passing seasons, a constant state of change and contrast - in the landscape and the man - reflected in its eleven tracks.

Samoyed's preoccupation with the natural world, balance and zen is counterpointed by the faded gloss of the cheap and failing 1980s equipment used to make the album. Saturday has a surface of synthetic lustre, gated snares and digital reverb, but underneath the gloss lies great warmth, threaded with 4-track tape hiss, splashes of plaintive strings and a heartbreaker of an upright piano. The result brings to mind Talk Talk, Severed Heads, Yasuaki Shimizu, Disintegration-era Cure and those bittersweet John Hughes film soundtracks.

Saturday marks the latest chapter in Flask's hectic release schedule, the last being Samoyed's Always from this point in 2008, a low-key classic of drone released on hand-screenprinted CD-R. In the years since, aside from gaining a design PhD and having a couple of wee melties, samoyed has released an EP of songs on Astro:Dynamics and prescient, loping schmaltz-house records for Lukid's GLUM and Jacques Greene's Vase labels.

Flask has been resurrected for the same reasons that it was founded - to release a Samoyed album so out-of-nowhere that no other label seemed appropriate for it (or really wanted it). In line with Flask's emphasis on beautiful, hand-crafted packaging, the Saturday LP features a 2-colour black and metallic gold woodblock print cut by the man himself.

Chillum Trio started out as a collective of like-minded musicians in 2002, however, after releasing an album together (which was supported by the likes of Laurent Garnier) the project slowly become the solo act of founding recording producer, Geza Szekeres.
At that time he discovered West-African music, latin jazz and the universe of soul and funk, these new directions have been shaping his musical evolution ever since.

In 2014 he turned out as one of the winners of Gilles Peterson's Havana Cultura remix contest that gave him the opportunity to travel to Havana and record music with the creme of the Cuban jazz scene.
One of his songs recorded in this session got released on Brownswood Recordings compilations Havana Cultura Mix and Havana Cultura Anthology.

Will Saul is a key figure in UK dance music. Approaching his twentieth anniversary as a DJ, producer and label founder, Saul has helped break the career of key artists such as Leon Vynehall, Midland and Dusky via his Aus Music label, has himself played some of the world’s finest nightclubs and contributed to !K7’s storied ‘DJ Kicks’ mix series, which he also curates. Finally returning to the production fold himself with his first full-length album in thirteen years, ‘Open Too Close’ is a condensed trip through the influences, discovery and sense of history that have helped shape his career and drive a forward-facing, unblinking passion for new music. The record’s concept reflects Will’s enormous skill and knowledge as a DJ, and as it’s title suggests, “"represents what I play in a club if an 8 hour set was condensed into 10 tracks.” Having held residencies and made regular appearances at some of the world’s finest clubs including The End and Fabric in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Trouw in Amsterdam and Robert Johnson in Offenbach, Saul is uniquely qualified but this refreshingly straightforward approach. Eschewing the lingering, almost cliched expectations for a dance artist to create an album “that sounds good at home, as well as in the club”, ‘Open Too Close’ instead draws on the timeless futurism at the heart of the music that drew Saul into electronic music culture. Simply put, futuristic, melancholic sci-fi soundscapes meets stripped back raw sample driven house music, all executed with the precision and panache of an artist who truly understands how to move a dancefloor.

Both taken from the Magic Spell Album produced by Mario Boncaldo & Tony Carrasco in 1983, the same guys from Klein & MBO, Plastic Mode, Amnesie and Ris. This unreleased 12" contains for the first time the extended disco versions of these two precious gems taken and re-mastered from the archive collection of the legendary Tony Carrasco.

DJ Rocca returns to Roam Recordings with two new originals backed by an all star set of remixers. The title track Slide to Unlock is a pretty tune that builds a swirling arpeggio under a beautiful electronic melody. In contrast, Uros is a huge gritty track with attitude.
Up first on remix support is the legendary I:Cube who takes Uros into hypnotic ethereal territory in a perfectly woven masterpiece. Rounding out the EP is another legend, The Emperor Machine, who twists Slide to Unlock into a beautiful electronic disco version full of bounce and analog goodness.

All four tracks combine into a diverse yet cohesive EP of stunning dance music electronics.

Turkish mystery man Ali Kuru is fast becoming one of our go-to artists. Since joining the label in early 2016, he's released two superb EPs, with a debut album of evocative musical blends - think dub, disco, downtempo grooves, humid exotica, and authentic middle eastern instrumentation - dropping in July.

Ahead of the album release, we have decided to hand over the parts to a clutch of Kuru's tracks to a hand picked team of remixers. Predictably, all have delivered, serving up versions that retain the essence of Kuru's atmospheric productions, whilst taking the tracks in a variety of beguiling new directions.

First to feature are cosmic disco pioneer Daniele Baldelli and production partner Dario Piana, fresh from dropping an inspired EP of their own on Leng. Their version of 'Ashoka' successfully wraps feverish Persian instrumentation and vintage synthesizer chords around a rock-solid rhythm track and bold electronic bassline. The result is not so much 'Afro-cosmic', as 'Arabic-cosmic'.

Next up is long time friend of the label Craig Bratley, whose hypnotic, chugging interpretation of 'Zurna' - all crispy snares, dubbed-out electronic motifs, exotic vocals and snaking lead lines - recalls the finest moments on his essential Magic Feet label.

On the flip, you'll find a pair of revisions from artists who made their name on Multi Culti, a label specializing in the kind of global dancefloor fusions that are near impossible to pigeonhole.

First up is Nicola Cruz, who successfully transforms 'Return To Paradise' via an intoxicating blend of loose cumbia rhythms, dub bass, lilting guitar lines and deep space effects. If Ali Kuru met Adrian Sherwood in Columbia for a jam session, it would probably sound a little like Cruz's fabulous rework.

Peter Power travels further towards the atmospheric depths on his version of 'Lost Bedouin'. More horizontal and clandestine in town, the producer makes great use of Kuru's haunting flute lines and evocative field recordings. The resultant remix is gentle in tone and tempo, but also ethereal in its' druggy, early morning outlook. Like the other three tracks, it's a very fine remix.

A name gaining notoriety in Belfast and fast expanding beyond is JORDAN, a producer and selector easing between house, techno, italo, disco and electro with fierce dancefloor power. Fresh from his Boiler Room debut, Warehouse Project performance and shows across Europe - the wheels are well and truly set in motion for JORDAN. His latest offering, VOYAGER, works elements of italo disco, rave and house, into two fresh tracks, VOYAGER, and MUSCLE MEMORY.
The revered Brassica steps in with his Midas touch, remixing title track, VOYAGER. Fusing the original with distinct oriental elements, Brassica demonstrates his ability to push boundaries.

HIPPIE CRACK – music is our drug – it makes us happy and gives us the chance to flee from the gray and ordinary daily routine. These 12 Tracks are highly addictively. Close your eyes, dance and time can be forgotten. Back to the roots – back to good old house music tunes, simple but not easy produced. The DOMPE Style has not to be described on more details; Again, and again full of different facets. These tracks are as always full of summer vibes und carried by lots of samples with plenty of old-school-sounds.

All tracks from the Album tell a story, can be listen to at home or also in the club. It starts with love and full of harmony, before it changes the chill mood the clubbing sounds. All in all, the complete package is very atmospheric. Like a good gig the sounds it goes harder step by step and at its best it comes to an end.

From the front till the back a project with a high intention – one of DOMPES heart wishes was a cover designed by BRINGMANN & KOPETZKI. The result is a perfect comic version of DOMPE and that's a banger. So, HIPPIE CRACK isn't only a musically hot shit, but also a visual highlight.

After Prins Thomas’ Ambitions album (released in April) follows a series of 12”s with remixes from the album! On this first release Prins Thomas gets remix treatment from Lauer on the album’s vocal track Feel The Love. 

The track is based around a sample of the track "Feel A Love" by one of the biggest pop-stars in Norway in the 70s and 80s, the late Alex (Naumik). The 12” contains a Prins Thomas Diskomix, album version and two remixes from Lauer.

"Samedi Soir" is full of funky tropical percussion and basslines, dramatic disco strings, cosmic synthesizers and infectious piano with seductive male and female vocals sung in French over a very catchy wha-wha and P&P disco funk popping rhythm. "Sexy Banana' is a superb crazy euro disco groovy track with rhythms in a jungle groove and funky percussion breaks; vocals also sung in French.

Strut present a new repress of the influential first volume of 'Disco Not Disco' compiled by Joey Negro and Sean P as part of the label's 20th Anniversary.
'Disco Not Disco' was a perfectly timed compilation back in 2000. Released when interest in the myths, history and playlists of original New York clubs like Paradise Garage and The Loft was at its peak, the album drew on the outer limits of leftfield disco championed by Levan and Mancuso, bringing together unlikely dancefloor anthems by rock acts like Yoko Ono and Ian Dury, obscurities from cottage labels like BC and Splash and selected oddities from the unique mind of avant-garde hero, Arthur Russell.
It was essentially a celebration of the sonic melting pot in New York during the early '80s, an era when punk had burnt itself out and disco had become commercial and saccharine; in its place, the post-punk movement threw up brilliant oddities which tore up the accepted rulebook.
The album features full original artwork and Kris Needs' sleeve notes and is remastered and cut by The Carvery.

With MEL011, it is Melodies International's immense pleasure to direct their focus towards both Soul and House royalty, selecting and reissuing two of Frankie Knuckles' scarcer remixes of an all-time classic: Womack & Womack - MPB (Missin' Persons Bureau). Now known as Zekkariyas and Zeriiya, partners Cecil and Linda Womack, two eminent members in an extensive lineage of music artistry (i.e. Bobby Womack was Zekkariyas' brother, Zeriiya is Sam Cooke's daughter) engaged in one of music history's most successful and exciting singing and song writing partnerships in the early 1980s. Zeriiya says her process with Zekkariyas flowed like water, their shared complicity and talent led them to write and produce strings of chart topping hits and classic albums as Womack & Womack but also for other renowned artists of the time such as Patti Labelle, Teddy Pendergrass and the O'Jays to only name a few. The original version of Missin' Persons Bureau was first released in 1988 on 'Conscience' (Island Records), a classic album with impeccable instrumentation and thoughtful and relatable narratives that reflect on the nature of life, true friendship, love or in the case of MPB, it's subsequent loss. Following the release of the LP, Island records founder Chris Blackwell introduced the idea of getting Missin' Persons Bureau reworked by House legend Frankie Knuckles and whilst the Womacks weren't originally set on the idea of having their songs remixed by other artists, Blackwell, who Zeriiya describes as a 'record label manager seriously involved in making sure the project is what the creators really want it to be", had earned their trust. With these remixes, Frankie managed to turn a radio hit into underground club classics. The Paradise Ballroom mix conserves the essence of the original, reinterpreting the rhythm section whilst drawing it out over 8 minutes, with expert tension building and release clearly aimed at the dance floor.

Singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Desmond Coke's supremely rare, privately pressed, lo-fi, synth-soul fusion, Let's Chase The Sun is represented here in edited form. Painstakingly remastered from the original tapes, this self taught pianist, drummer and sax player condensed his musical experiences and dreams in to an opus on love and togetherness.

Desmond Coke alias 'Fatfingers' - named by fellow musicians due to improvisation and interpretation skills - began playing keyboards by ear at 15 and went on to a music career playing with the likes of Alton Ellis, Prince Fari, Barrington Levy, Dillinger, Don Cherry and Shara Nelson, as well as a gamut of the On-U Sound label's projects, including Creation Rebel, Dub Syndicate, Singers & Players and Mark Stewart + Maffia.

With an interest in reggae, dub, jazz, soul, meringue, gospel and garage, his sole album was a true fusion to create a brand new sound. Composed, arranged and produced by Coke, he worked with an array of seasoned musicians, including his own sisters Winifred (percussion / vocals) and Paulette Coke (percussion / DX-7 & M1 synthesisers).

Pressed on his own Saterlite Entertainments in 1989, Coke describes the album's purpose, "to get the message across to have focus, ambition, to dream and 'chase the sun'. That relationships are important, 'I need somebody' and naturally the chemistry is 'you and me'. Great relationships are about friendships and that it's ok to 'mesmerise a friend'. The most natural thing is to enjoy each other's company and to 'make a love child'. These good intentions and meanings, where love is the key." Some thirty years later Desmond's thoughts are as resonant today as then - Let's Chase The Sun.

Dark Entries is proud to present 'La Vida Sigue Igual', the sophomore EP from Savage Hymn. The project is a collaboration between Miami born-and-bred Mystic Bill Torres (Trax, Relief, Classic) and native New Yorker Jake Reif (Device Control, Upsetting Keys). Jake spent some musically formative years in the Midwest, drawing influence from the cultures of Chicago and Detroit. Fueled by the underground energy of warehouse and loft parties of the era, he began his DJ career in the early 1990s. Bill grew up going to goth and industrial clubs in Miami before moving to Chicago where he held residencies at clubs with Johnny Fiasco, Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, and Ralphi Rosario. The duo is heavily influenced by the early Chicago house and Detroit techno sounds as well as European electronic body music like Front 242 and Liaisons Dangereuses. Their first release 'Indecision' was a white label for Rong Music in 2015.

'La Vida Sigue Igual' is immediately a more physical affair than its predecessor, kicking off with the title track, a hard hitting percussive monster. The sparse simplicity of the machine gun synth work & monotone Spanish vocals by Mystic Bill evoke classic 80's industrial and art house dance tracks. We've included the instrumental version for adventurous DJs who want play doubles. On the B-side are two versions of the track 'Animals'. Version 1 explores the underbelly of NY with maniacal industrial rhythms and samples from Diamanda Galas and Travis Bickle (Robert DeNiro) in Taxi Driver. Version 2 ventures into dark freestyle territory, fueled by the underground energy of Chicago's Warehouse and Medusas clubs.

All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. The vinyl comes housed in a jacket with hand drawn illustration of night time jungle themes designed by Eloise Leigh and screen printed in muted teal pantone on french environment paper by Stumptown Printers. Each EP includes a postcard with a black and white photograph of the duo.

Produced by the great Nick Martinelli together with Terri Jeffries, the first release of Dance Lover, back in 1985, immediately resulted in a local release on the Dutch Rams Horn label. Leading US Music-magazine “Billboard” wrote, back in ‘85 regarding Dance Lover: “An easy D-Train style combination of soul and electronics, with a good duet interplay and a well-structured dub”. Now made available again by Dutch High Fashion Music, manufactured from the original mastertapes and including re-edits by Joey Negro and Faze Action.

There are records you want and records you NEED. Here is one containing 2 massive re-edits from the master himself Danny Krivit. Side A sees him tease the massive Let Me Down Easy (known as the main riff for David Moraled Needin You) to over 8 minutes of uptempo disco bliss. On the B side, things get a little spicier as he pumps the Fatback Band percussive "Spanish Hustle" to a peak time monster. First time for both tracks on 12" - very limited edition from the people who delivered the HOMEHIT 7” series.
