Don't be fooled by Spellacey's lower profle: amongst those who know, the Melbourne-based New Zealander is widely regarded as a seriously dusty fngered digger, capable of unearthing and championing ridiculously good records from all four corners of the globe. He sells some of these exceptional fnds through his Crown Ruler online store, though there are many more that he keeps hidden from the public.From synth-laden Zambian reggae and sumptuous orchestral Afro-soul, to humid Trinidadian boogie and horizontal Italian jazz-funk, Spellacey offers a whirlwind trip through the most kaleidoscopic and exotic parts of his epic collection.
As you'd expect from a man who has traveled the world hunting down records, the majority of the 15 tracks will be unknown to all but a handful of similarly minded crate diggers. In fact, some are so obscure that you'll struggle to fnd any mention of them at all online. This could be your only chance to own the boogie-era reggae-disco brilliance of Le Banda De Martin's Mi Dueno' and the tear-jerking Afro-soul shuffe of Kosmik 3's I'm Gonna Pack' (here featured in exclusive Jeremy Spellacey re-edit form).
Spacetalk Records' frst compilation, Beauty, offered listeners the chance to take a trip through the record collection of noted Parisian crate-digger and DJ Jeremy Underground. It was a runaway success, so the label has decided to repeat the
exercise. This time, though, they've turned to a lesser-known hunter of rare and obscure records, namely Crown Ruler Records co-founder Jeremy Spellacey.
Spellacey has previously shied away from sharing the secrets of his extensive record collection. Crown Ruler Sound, then, is a rare treat: a gloriously colourful, sun-baked compilation of tropical treats from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond, hand-picked by the man who helped license this year's most essential reissue, the South African boogie brilliance that is Focus's Zulu.

Highlights come thick and fast, from the frst note to the last. Check, for example, the wild P-funk of Acayouman's Funk Around', the dancing marimbas and undulating grooves of Feladey's Forest Music' and the impeccable South African jazz-funk of Stimela's sought-after 1983 debut single, I Love You'.

If you read interviews with Stuart Leath, you'll probably be aware of the amount of work he was put into tracking down Trinidadian husband-and-wife team Carl and Carol Jacobs. Some 24 months later, the fruits of his efforts have materialized in this superb reissue of their obscure (and ludicrously hard to find) 1986 electro-calypso gem "Robot Jam". It's one of those records that shouldn't work - it's effectively a fusion of replayed and re-sung bits from records by Santana, Rock Master Scott and Rappin' Duke - but still sounds brilliantly futuristic nearly 30 years after its' initial release. The two-part original is joined on the flip by a brilliantly fitting, echo-laden "re-rub" from Nick The Record and Dan Tyler, better known as one half of the Idjut Boys.

Coming with extended unreleased versions, the originals were collected from sought after EPs, an obscure compilation LP and fiishes with a never before released song - this is history. We are happy to announce the first in an occasional series of fully licensed 12" releases on Autonomous Africa exploring the influence of music from Africa across the globe.

The first release comes from Colombia's Wganda Kenya with three tracks recorded in the mid 70s. The Caribbean coast of Colombia has a long relationship with Africa stretching back hundreds of years. Strong trading links and migration from West Africa to Colombia led to a distinct African influence on the music in cities such as Cartagena and the local music (cumbia and champeta) absorbed these influences. This was particularly notable in the 70s as records by Fela Kuti amongst others arrived in Colombia. One of the leading practitioners of this Afro Sound were the mighty Wganda Kenya who were huge there in the 70s and 80s and whose music is still highly regarded to this day.

While their music has appeared on compilations, there hasn't been a big fat 12" vinyl release since Island Records offshoot, Mango put "Shakalode" out as a 12" way back in 1989.

"Shakalode" on the A side is a powerful reworking of the Fela Kuti classic "Shakara" which was much covered in Colombia in the mid 1970s. It's a transcendental Afro Colombian funk bomb.

On the other side are two other Wganda Kenya gems; the call and response percussive and organ grooving "Pim Pom" and the more traditional Colombian cumbia singalong anthem "La Botellita".

Originally this was going to be a 2 x 12" featuring some other Wganda Kenya magic but sadly the masters to many of their tracks have been lost. There are plans to put out a second 12" of reworkings of these tracks aimed at djs who won't play records unless they can mix them, but of course, these 40 year old tracks will still rock any open minded dancefloor just as they are.

All proceeds will once again go to the Mtandika mission in Tanzania -

The man known as DJ Nature holds a long and illustrious list of releases that spans all the way back to the early 90s, when, as Nature Boy, the Bristol born DJ and producer was carving out sample heavy house music for labels like Ruff Disco Records and the Underworld affiliated Tomato label.
His relatively modern re-incarnation, as DJ Nature, has seen singles and two albums come correct on revered labels like Golf Channel Recordings and Jazzy Sport.
Following on from Futureboogie's landmark 50th release, DJ Nature drops a heavyweight four track EP on the Bristol label, each track promising and delivering Summertime vibes in abundance.
'Born Lifted', with its deft guitar licks and soulful vocal chops over lazy, hazy beats, is a great example of the Nature aesthetics that make his tracks so very popular across the house fraternity. 'My Life' picks up the pace, deploying granite hard snares and cosmic chords with dusted vocal samples.
On the flip, 'What It Isn't' packs some jazz chops with its sampled pianos and saxophone riffs over a discordant beat that swings with the best of them, whilst EP closer 'Loving U More' again serves up some delicious summertime grooves with the perfect marriage of deep, funky bass and seductive samples.

2 classics on one 12" single, gems excavated from the deepest realms of the TK Disco vaults. Remastered, represented and brought back into focus for 2017's DJ bags and dance-floors! On side A we have former Foxy frontman Ishmael 'Ish' Ledesma with his sublime esoteric Disco cut from 1979 called 'Don't stop', a deep, late night diamond of a track that will appeal to the more left-field Disco lovers out there. 'Don't stop' has long been a favourite with the diggers with it's sweet vocals, synth heavy production and overall cosmic vibe. A beauty of a track indeed and one of TK's lesser known cuts. Side B sees fusion guitarist John Tropea's 1979 cosmic classic 'Living in the jungle', a long time spin of DJ's like Daniele Baldelli and DJ Harvey. Infusing Tropea's rock sensibilities with the throb of the Disco dance-floor the track is a low slung, midtempo groover that touches all the right spots. Overall, this essential double-header is a must have for all Disco heads and left-field DJ fiends.

Oraculo records looks to the past in very few occasions and monomen deserves to be one of the exceptions. the norvegian band momonen released back in 2007 one of the best electronic post-punk albums of the beginning of xxi centurty on trust me records, not only for the music quality but because all the band members had only 19 years old at the time. suddenly the band gets dissolved after only 1 ep and 1 album. now, 10 years later, oraculo records proudly recovers the best tracks of their album (+1 one of the previous ep) on a record that will be very searched and valued. all tracks mastered and remastered specially for vinyl by eric van wonterghem at prodam studio (berlin).

After a busy eighteen months promoting his debut album, Essex-hailer Max Chapman brings us his La Fiesta EP on Hot Creations. The title track features alongside remixes by the versatile Luca Cazal and house veteran Todd Terry.

With Latin vibes from the outset, Max has encompassed the essence of The White Isle. La Fiesta is a migration of percussion, chanting and melodic vocals and flirtatious basslines. The multi-talented Osaka based DJ, Blogger, & Re-Editor Mori Ra (Magic Wand, Rotating Souls Records, Forest Jams Records) once again teams up with his former production partner ASN after their fantastic release on Macadam Mambo.
Two stunning tracks from the pair and 2 more wonders from Mori himself make this an unmissable EP. A Passport to Paradise is just what this EP is, an ice and a slice of funk, disco, balearica, and rare grooves for this summer's floors.

A window into the full-blooded, captivating spirit of music from the
Andes, ANDINA shines a fresh perspective on Peru's Andean heritage. A co-release with Strut Records, the album is selected from records released between '68 and '78, upending clichéd ideas of Andean music and bringing to light the divergent, exciting traditions to have emerged from Peru's strip of the iconic mountain range. Encompassing steady-grooving, Peruvian cumbia rhythms, transcendent folkloric harp recordings and Lima big band groups taking influence from their highland neighbours, it boasts a diversity that will appeal to fans of jazz and Latin as well as tropical-minded DJs and deepdigging collectors. It was dubstep producer and DJ Mala (Digital Mystikz) who most recently shone a light on the region with his 2016 album Mirrors on Brownswood - Tiger's Milk founder Martin Morales had accompanied him to Peru two years earlier, acting as his guide and mentor in discovering the breadth of Peru's musical history.

Lovefingers heard The Atmospherian years ago on Milk Beach Settlers, a promo-only mix CD comprised solely of Australian artists, mixed and released by seminal Melbourne DJ duo and good friends Hey Convict! (Tamas Jones & Jason Evans). Tamas explained that Warp Factor 9 was a one-off project by John and Russell Kilby of esoteric post-rock bands The Crystal Set and Bhagavad Guitars respectively, and who are brothers of Steve Kilby (frontman of The Church, a prolific Australian band we've adored since adolescence). We had an immediate epiphany and this project was set into motion.

Tamas, now living in Sydney and working with Melbourne producer Harmon under the name Carpentaria, sought out the Kilbys in an attempt to collaborate and license The Atmospherian which originally appeared on their self-released 1993 album Five Days In A Photon Belt. The idea was to unearth this lost cosmic noodle and repackage it with a couple contemporary remixes by the ESP's Australian family members but, as is often the case, there were no usable multitrack tapes in existence. This wouldn't be Tamas' first time at the rodeo however, it was the same situation with Hey Convict!'s collaboration with Dominik Von Senger entitled No Name 2009, on Golf Channel Recordings. Being limited to a single stereo mix and no remix stems to play with, Carpentaria had to edit linearly and replay certain elements from scratch along with some re-recorded vocals from John. During this process, Tamas and Paul generated elements that would subsequently be used for a remix by fellow Aussie producer and prodigy Tornado Wallace.
Now finally, after three years of obstacles, the ESP Institute is proud to announce this beautiful release, The Atmospherian — a celebration of a lost tune that originated, was re-discovered and re-imagined down under, but sits far left of center.

Rediscovered and forgotten tracks from the obscure Kansas based musician and producer Karlos Moran. Stumbled upon and signed up by Luca Lozano of Klasse Wrecks and Grafiti Tapes fame, who liked Karlos' music so much he decided to start a new label (Moran Music Group) dedicated totally to the Moran sound. Somewhere in-between US House, Deep-Acid and proto-mutant-house Paradise Garage anthems the 5 track EP conjures up the sound of pure innocence, good intentions and an existence totally outside of any current scene. Essential and bonafide!

Kicking off in February 2015, Hilton, Rob Garza and their DC-based live rhythm section settled into the deep part of Jamaica Port Antonio and began recording in Geejam Studios. "People couldn't believe Robbie Myers, our guitarist, wasn't Jamaican," laughs Hilton. "I think they're used to people coming down from London or LA to record rock and pop records, and they were thrilled that we had such a handle on their sound. It felt like the respect was mutual. It was beyond gratifying. High Grade ganja and bottles of Appleton rum started to show up on the reg."Rife with inspired sounds of the island, The Temple of I & I kicks off with "Thief Rockers", easing the listener into a reverb-heavy tropical sway that introduces Kingston-newcomer, vocalist Racquel Jones. "I met her on my first trip to Port Antonio and she played some demos at Geejam. She had actually used Thievery Corporation as her demo backing track, and it was a perfect match when I heard it. We've been waiting years to find a conscious, brilliant, female Jamaican singer and MC. As a model and former Miss Jamaica contestant, you'd never expect the pure lyrical fire and tough delivery could come out of her. It's impressive," explains Hilton.

Although not a band in a traditional sense of the word, this record was created by a rotating ensemble of players: for a brief moment, musicians from different backgrounds (in this iteration: Preslav, Kenny Peagler, Waajeed, Joe DeFazio and Phil Boyd) became a band and then went their separate ways.

Rhodes, funk basslines, neo-soul chords and tight drum programming are the lingua franca of the 24 Hour Band.
The title of each song represents the time of day that inspired it and collectively, they point to the goal to create records that can be enjoyed not just in a club, but throughout the day, at home, or in your car.

Imitating Aeroplanes is the new project of Tord Øverland Knudsen (The Wombats) and Marius Drogsås Hagen (Team Me) - a collective output tallying five albums, multi-million sales and streams, repeat Billboard charts, international play-listing and widespread acclaim, including a Norwegian Grammy Award and multiple NME / MTV Award nominations. On paper, it's an impressive partnership, but this is one project more destined than designed. Marius and Tord have been playing and writing music together since childhood, recording their first demos to cassette circa '96. The pair grew up in small Norwegian town Elverum before embarking respective international careers, with their latest planetary pursuit landing in Tokyo - the heartland of forthcoming album 'Planet Language', released September 22 via Propeller Recordings. The album blends elements of pop, prog, funk and psychedelia, with a no holds barred approach to song structure and production. The whole idea of this album was to do things we haven't done before, and things that we couldn't do in our existing projects,' Tord says. It feels like one hell of a journey, both lyrically and musically,' Marius adds. It's all about travelling in different ways - whether in music or in life - and somehow finding bits of home wherever you are,' he says, referencing a Japanese tour in which the pair were joined by video game composer and musician Kenji Ito (a.k.a. Itoken). Itoken's influence was great, contributing additional production and keyboard parts on instrumental prelude 'Roppongi Hills', and unintentionally coining the album's title whilst explaining his wife's made-up' language. Hailing from Florida, the Brookside imprint have dug deep into the master tapes and let NYC master-mixer Mike Maurro loose on a couple of stone cold classics! Maurro, a Queens based DJ and mixer since 1986 has become one of the top remixers out there today with his own, faithful takes on numerous dance classics from the last 30+ years. Here he lends his magic touch to a pair of well loved club classics while adding his own original flavour. Dan Hartman's "Vertigo/Relight My Fire" is up first on side-A, featuring the unmistakable vocals of NYC diva Loleatta Holloway. Maurro's mix brings the vocals in earlier, dubbing them out creating a super trippy atmosphere with a slightly different musical arrangement over the course of almost 14 minutes! On side-B, we have the legendary Evelyn "Champagne" King's "Shame", with a slightly longer, beat led intro for the DJ's. Last up we have Orere-Elejigbo which is mid-tempo afro-Balearic gem and again, a rework rather than your bog standard edit.

top-notch package of 16 brand-new tracks by their main artists including

But let's look back for a minute, because a lot has happened since Tom
Bioly and Benjamin Fröhlich dusted off the mirror balls in Munich. Since the
1970s the city always had a reputation for being one of the world's disco
capitals and Permanent Vacation took good care of this precious heritage
being partly responsible for the new found love of Disco music and its
variations such as BALEARIC, COSMIC, KRAUTROCK or PROTOHOUSE.
Back then Tom, who for several years had been working in the music
business, was a regular at Play Records that was run by Benjamin, who
had also been busy as a DJ and party promoter. Soon they became friends
and discovered their astoundingly similar taste in music. The label name
PERMANENT VACATION also reflects the way the label came into
existence, since the its main concept was developed during pingpong
matches rather than at a conference table.
Already their first release, a compilation of the same name—'PERMANENT
VACATION'—, was celebrated as 'razor-sharp, pulsating, pornographic, all
fuses opening crazy pop' by one of Germany's leading daily newspaper
Süddeutsche Zeitung.
Taking off from here Permanent Vacation managed to become one of the
flagships of the new movement and had several genre-defining hits with the
reissue of Antena's classic "Camino del Sol" album (even the Pet Shop
Boys claimed it as an influence) and the accompanying remixes.
Next up was the album "Miss Diamond to you" by singer Kathy Diamond,
produced by the wild boogie wizard Maurice Fulton. This album was
followed by multiple releases worth mentioning, many of which can be
called modern day disco classics by now: Tensnake's 'Coma Cat', which
entered the UK top 40, Azari & III 'Reckless with your love', albums by
Swedish Italo princess Sally Shapiro and by Vienna heartthrob Wolfram,
Jacques Renault's remix of Midnight Magic's 'Beam Me Up', 40 Thieves
'Don't turn it off', Todd Terje's 'Remaster of the Universe remix collection'

ELEGANT DIVIDE are Peter Oldroyd and Samantha Gare, based in London UK.Formed in 2014 ELEGANT DIVIDE combines the talents of classically trained vocalist Samantha Gare and electronic pop music pioneer Peter Oldroyd. Peter is a well-known mix engineer and record producer, and best known for his 1980's experimental synth pop band Camera Obscura. Samantha, trained at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, has experienced chart success before and lends her distinctive voice to the project. ELEGANT DIVIDE expresses the dichotomy of dark and light in electronic music with songs that explore lyrically the emotions of urban living. With the use of vintage synthesisers (Moog Prodidy / Source, Novation Bass Station, Nord Lead 2, Paia Fatman, Polyfusion Modular, Yamaha DX7) and drum machines (Roland TR-909 / TR-808 / TR-707 / TR-505, Yamaha RX17) their sound is rich and analogue, and Samantha's cool vocal delivery creates a mood that is simultaneously accessible pop and dark and haunting.

Here Lies Pollyn, a band which never got the dues they deserved, a band whose influence stretched around the world, a band who can count Hot Chip as fans, but also a band who concentrated on the music instead of arbitrary processes like promotion. This has left them with three critically-acclaimed albums, a little black book full of their own musical heroes as fans and one final brand new single: 'Findaway Ft. Alexis Taylor'. The anthology, that most bands would be proud to produce, is now presented as a digital download or an impressive three vinyl package as Here Lies Pollyn 2003-2016.

Pollyn are nouveau vintage electronica and have been celebrated as one of LA's most hi-fashion electronic acts. Genevieve Artadi's porcelain vocal, Anthony Cava's quirky guitars and Adam Jay Weissman's beat­maker production make for a potent and unforgettable musical cocktail. Releasing their first EP in 2003, Pollyn originally sampled from old records to bed their iconic vocal with dark analogue synths, dusty beats built with old hip hop drum machines, an ancient Pro Tools set up and trippy vocal fx.

Adam Jay Weissman says of the Anthology: 'We spent a lot of time working on Pollyn and not as much time promoting it, so a lot of our music has been overlooked. Self-releasing our own music made it tough to have the reach we wanted. After 10+ years of releases, we wanted something that collects all of our favorite songs into one cohesive package, telling the complete story of Pollyn. It's like a time capsule on vinyl. We dug through our albums, the singles and unreleased stuff to put together what we consider to be the quintessential retrospective of our music. For the digital release, we added a collection of remixes, many of which were never released or aren't available on streaming sites. There are so many good ones, that we're exciting to have them finally seeing the light of day! The artwork was done by underground comic book hero Lawerence Raw Dog' Hubbard of Real Deal Comix fame.'

Extending from Dublin out to Drogheda and Galway and onward overseas, the EP provides something peak-time for all tastes.

The lead off track sees label top dog Pablo going off on a solo tip, delivering an end of nighter take on an eternal UK street Soul classic. Chopping together many different mixes to create an epic whole, this one has been road-tested thoroughly, and always brings the house down.

While Pablo was fiddling around endlessly with that one, usual production partner Shoey slithered off with newcomer Kellser to produce a dreamy, stretched out take on a late 70's staple , another guaranteed winner, and possibly the most bliss inducing song ever to run at 130BPM

The international part of the EP comes from Italian edit king Belabouche, who delivers a lovely take on 'Willie and The Hand Jive'.

And the vocals will have the dance floor shouting out in unison...'Drums of Kenya' is a heavy disco inspired African cut destined for heavy dancefloor action which as the title says, 'Drums of Kenya', 7+ minutes of percussion heaven that will work the dancers hard. The version cuts the chaff from the original cut, 'Shining Star' by The Stranger which was released on Unidisc out of Canada in 1979 and
go straight for the jugular with the incredible conga workout.
'Lion of Zimbabwe' is a gentle touch up of Butsu Mutandarika by Thomas Mapfumo & The Blacks Un-limited featuring Jonah Sithole with added percussion to underpin the whole track and looping up the solid African groove, this will work wonders on the right floors...

Limited repress of the desperately cool super hip post punk mega rarity. With different label so it's different from the first pressing.

The first trunk repress of this classic lost post punk single was way back in 2010. They all sold very fast. The original 7' then shot to £500+ if you can ever find one. And the Trunk 12' repress is now about £50. Three record companies approached Trunk in the last month to repress it, but it was easier just to repress this classic 12' with the original version, a radio edit and three further edits from various underground superstars.

Jive baby On A Sturday Night' is incredibly hooky. It was originally played by John Peel back in the day, but as a privately pressed record with no distribution apart from being carried about ina sprts holdall, it sold just 30 copies.

Rediscovered by Thurston Moore in 2009, this super hip single is now back out with the full original version plus edits and mixes by Lemon Jelly's Fred Deakin, Tommy Stupid and Georges Vert, AKA the Advisory Circle.

With a new single just released ("Roadside"), accompanied by a groovy video, and a "Greatest Hits" album in the pipeline, it is time to look at Torpedo Boyz from a new perspective.

After more than 10 years in the business, four acclaimed albums in the discography ("Headache Music", "Cum On Feel The Boyz", "Return Of The Ausländers" and "Don't Cry") a collection of "Greatest Hits" will be released in October 2017 featuring all time classics and never out of fashion tunes like "Gimme A Bassline", "Ich Bin Ausländer (Leider Zum Glück)" or "The Disco Song".

Right in time for this release Légère Recordings asked Boca 45, their favourite 7inch DJ and remix expert, to deliver his versions of the Torpedo Boyz favourites "Any Trash, Professor Abacus" and "Are You Talking To Me". Despite a discography that stretches right back to the late noughties, little is known about Turkish producer Ali Kuru. Perhaps he's publicity shy, or simply wants to let his music do the talking; either way, the music he makes is magical, and undoubtedly worthy of wider acclaim. Kuru came to the attention of Leng late last year, releasing the Luna 12' his frst vinyl release for six years - in January 2016. That EP boasted two typically exotic and fragrant tracks, both of which effortlessly joined the dots between dub disco, hazy house, gentle downtempo movements and snaking, Middle Eastern instrumentation.
Here, the Istanbul native further explores his unique musical perspective, serving up a quartet of tracks that eschew easy categorization. Twittering birds, throbbing dub basslines, crisp hip-hop beats, trippy vocal samples, and distant chimes combine on the moody 'Mandari', while 'Causa' peppers a jangling, acoustic guitar-laden loop-groove with futtering futes, deep space electronics and rolling hand percussion.On the fip, his more exotic musical inspirations return to the fore. There's 'Zurna' - the musical equivalent of a panicked dash through a bustling late
night market full of drunken jazz drummers, metronomic groove merchants and snake-charming pungi players - and the low-slung stomp of 'Avaz'. Here, sampled vocal chants and Bollywood-inspired instrumentation wind their way around a rubbery bassline and handclap-heavy rhythm track. If
there was such a thing as Turkish-Hindi jazzdance - and maybe there should be - then this would be a guaranteed foorfller.
All four tracks offer further glimpses into Ali Kuru's fertile imagination. It's the perfect teaser for the Turkish producer's debut album, which will be released by Leng in early 2017.

The EP is full of vintage talk box vocals, warm spacey chords and infectious basslines that bring classic records from the likes of Zapp and The Rah Band into mind.With 5 tracks this EP has a lot to offer. Wether it be the raw, funked up james of the opener 'Small Talk' and title track 'Astrocat' or the more chilled, woozy grooves of 'Nightflare'. With features from Mr Woodnote and a dub remix from Appleblim this EP's roots sit firmly in the South West. Local legend DJ Die even lent his vocoder to the studio for some of the recordings.

With the label's 10th anniversary celebrations now done and dusted, Claremont 56 returns to action with something rather special: a magical debut single from a previously unknown talent.
There's not much we can tell you about Ferdi Schuster, other than that he is a talented young producer from Augsburg in Germany. As Claremont 56 is one of his favourite labels, he speculatively submitted some tracks for consideration. Label founder Paul Murphy was astonished by what he heard and believes the two tracks showcased on this 12' are amongst the best things the label has released for some time.
A-side 'Little River' is breathtakingly good. Opening with the sound o a babbling brook, it sees Schuster wrap plucked, sun-kissed acoustic guitar licks and jaunty vintage synthesizer motifs around a languid, samba-infuenced groove. As the track progresses, further magical musical elements come to the fore, including blissful electric piano solos and more mazy synthesizer solos, seemingly played on battere old equipment from the turn of the '80s. Schuster's love of the acoustic guitar is explored further on similarly impressive B-side 'Befreit'. Here, gently strummed chords and fuid Spanish guitar motifs catch the ear, as hushed cymbals and gentle hand percussion lap at your feet like the sea at sunrise. The German producer adds atmosphere through a combination of leisurely Hammond organ solos and a touch of Jew's Harp. When all of these immaculate elements combine, the results are little less than spellbinding.
Schuster may be taking his frst steps into releasing music, but his
compositional, playing and production skills are already fnely tuned. We can surely expect to hear more inspired music from him in the years to come.

Caliban produced only one self-released 7' 'Open Mind / Digital Reggae' in 1984.

Following the re-discovery of this very little known 7' by Caliban a few years back, UK producer Jackson Bailey aka Tapes managed to track Milton down, who as well as being in possession of most of the stock of the original record, was also sat on a number of amazing unreleased recordings from the Caliban sessions. With an album of unreleased Caliban material compiled by Tapes to follow later on Music From Memory, this EP introduces one of the unreleased tracks, the incredible feel good disco anthem Supernatural'. Taking us on a glittering, rhythm charged rocket tour of the Funk Cosmos, this until-now-unheard future classic will surely set the summer nights alight.

The three track 12' also includes Digital Reggae' which featured on the original Caliban 7'. This computerised dancehall/funk hybrid was partially penned to address the lack of black culture included in the payload of the United States' first space station, Digital Reggae will be included in the Payload of Skylab!'. As well as the original mix, the EP also includes a new dub put together by Milton himself and assisted by riddim specialist Tapes!

Produced by Mike Misiu who has also been responsible for a slew of anonymous underground releases and edits over the last few years as well as being one half of Londons Cut the Rug party crew. We first heard Bill Brewster drop "Do what you need" at the last ever Lowlife party and managed to track Mike down. The Loose change Project mixes raw soul warmth with ananlog grit and a dub aesthetic.

For our second artist album we are really pleased (and honoured) to welcome one of the few DJs who can claim to be one of the founders of the eclectic Balearic sound. Take a trip back to the 70s and 80s in Northern Italy and you will fine Daniele Baldelli mixing up electronic, African and slo-mo disco records to co-create the Electronica Meccanica sub genre. Records often would be played at the wrong or variable speed to be made to fit into a wide aural tapestry of his unexpected-but-seamlessly-flowing DJ sets. This of course is an aesthetic close to us here at Real Balearic. A sound we are ever so pleased to have as part of the mixing pot for our new Balearic label. For the album he pairs up with fellow Italian DJ Rocca to serve up an eclectic - electronic - Balearic feast.

For those Zoologists out there you may notice that the albums song titles (mostly) are all extinct animals. A clever naming concept but as you will hear the music is far from primeval. The LP opens up with recent single "Poouli". It registers at the top of the Balearic speed end but the varied synthesizer grooves and vibe are pure 90's balearic (i.e. looking back to the 80s sound and mish-mashing a collage of styles and sound). "Quagga" follows and the tempo and grooves are toned down a few notches. This summer-haze smoulderer features lazy guitar and the summer sky-lark flute of Rocca (not only a DJ a fine musician too).

Recent single "Pongo". The Kalimba is out in full force as are the lethargic grooves and lazy bass guitar. Stabby synth and quirky counter melodies round off sound with just enough quirkiness to succeed. "Dodo" sees proceedings take a slight leftfield detour with its weaving (and slightly menacing) hot-sun synth lines setting the tone.

The flip side of the LP opens up with "Megaloceros". The track is heavy and large on percussion and latin-inspired shakers. The sparse instrumentation leaving space for the track to fill let the beach-time moods flood in to complete it. "Oryx Dammah" is an early evening sonic-builder full of terrace-sweeping pluck-synth groove. The LP closes with "Java Tiger". It slow, low, mysterious and powerful just as its name sake.

Moullinex is back with his finest album up to date, HYPERSEX, a collective love letter to club culture and its celebration of difference, freedom and love. In his third length, Moullinex reached out to several guest singers: Fritz Helder (Azari & III), Georgia Anne Muldrow (Flying Lotus, Mos Def), Iwona Skwarek (Rebeka), Best Youth, Marta Ren, Da Chick, UhAhUh and Tee Flowers, crafting a uniquely fresh piece that combines many of his musical influences, from the funk, groove and sunshine of his debut "Flora" to the psychedelia and tropicalia of 'Elsewhere'. Moullinex is the alter ego of the Portuguese producer and multiinstrumentalist Luis Clara Gomes. He's established himself as one of the leading artists in the modern disco scene, with several singles such as 'Take My Pain Away' and 'Maniac' ft. Peaches, and remixes of acts like Røyksopp, Cut Copy, Two Door Cinema Club and Grammyawarded artist RAC. The road to HYPERSEX has been paved by various singles and videos in 2017, expanding the spirit of collaboration to directors and visual artists, and gathered wide support from international tastemakers across the globe, including Vice, NPR, KCRW, Triple J, Majestic Casual, Les Inrockuptibles and Tsugi Mag. HYPERSEX is like Hypertext between humans, a system designed to multiply ideas and connections between people. The dance floor is the perfect medium.

For their fourth release on Compost, SIREN, (Darshan Jesrani and Dennis Kane) offer up Lulu. A haunting and driven song with an emotionally lacquered vocal from Devi Mamboka. The song also features elegant guitar work from Danny Chavis of The Veldt (His twin brother Daniel sang vocals on SIREN'S first release) bass from SIREN engineer supreme Mark Dann, and percussion from Liquid Liquid front man Salvatore Principato. The Italian disco- and cosmic pioneers Daniele Baldelli and Marco Dionigi joined forces for an extraordinary timeless smoothly grooving re-interpretation of Lulu.

Zarkoff (Saša Rajkovic) is Croatian musician and sound engineer that has been busy making proper sound of dozens labels and doing his own music last ten years. Genre could be described as dark electronics, somewhere between techno and synth wave, but if there is something that makes him unique, it's his powerfull and distinctive voice. Saša is also member of EBM-ish project Sumerian Fleet, having releases on mighty Dark Entries or Créme Organization, where we took the opportunity and asked his colleague, legendary Mr. Pauli to enrich this 12 with proper west coast style remix.

Brian Ellis known for his collaborations with legends Egyptian Lover, Howard Johnson also the modern funk contemporaries like Zackey Force Funk and XL Middleton, 'Mirror/Mirror' showcases Brian's handling of all instruments, vocals, mixing and production. Drawing from classic 70s west coast AOR to obscure french library music and early 80s funk presenting a timeless contemporary sound. Combining analog synths (Oberheim OB8, Minimoog Model D, Yamaha DX7, and more), live guitar, intricate drumming, smooth vocals with excellent songwriting have come together like never before. Sure to be a classic record in the years to come.

There is a long-standing love affair between DJ Harvey and Pikes, Ibiza. As well as coming back for his third consecutive 'Mercury Rising' residency, the legendary 'DJs' DJ has been appointed 'Cultural Attaché' for Pikes, meaning his magic touch and feel-good presence will create even more special moments at Pikes this summer, including the launch of new label, Pikes Records.

In 2015 DJ Harvey made his hugely anticipated return to Ibiza and made Pikes his home for his Mercury Rising debut, a concept inspired by the beauty of the real Ibiza, the incredible history of Pikes and a genuine love for music. The love, the dancing, the music and the Balearic spirit perfectly and poetically encapsulated by DJ Harvey has seen Mercury Rising widely recognised as the most special night to embrace the island in over a decade.

The next step in the Harvey and Pikes story sees him launch Pikes Records - the first record label founded by Pikes owners and Ibiza Rocks Co-Founders Andy McKay and Dawn Hindle. On the label, Harvey explains: I see so many avenues to work together to release music, everything from live recordings from Ibiza Rocks and Pikes, mix tapes, original productions, showcasing new artists, there's all sorts of avenues to open up.'

With the finer details still under wraps, it's safe to say fans can look forward to the first release being Harvey's very own Mercury Rising compilation. But what can we expect from the third instalment of Mercury Rising Putting it quite simply, Just a serious good time really' says Harvey.

Vinny Villbass is one of the long time driving forces behind the Norwegian club scene. In addition to an extensive list of club nights and house parties on his conscience, he is one third of the crew behind the renown Oslo club night Sunkissed and initiator of the Norwegian web-portal OsloClubCast, building ties between the clubs, DJ's, and producers of Oslo.

As DJ, Vinny Villbass is known for his exceptional groove and timing as a result of 15 years behind the decks, mostly in Scandinavia, but also as a resident of German club capitol Berlin, and in New York City.

His musical experience also reaches far beyond his 15 years as house DJ and vinyl junkie. As guitar and synth player in diskJokkeBand and a master of acoustics, Vinny Villbass´ production skills fronts his very own trademark sound of house music.

In addition to releases on labels such as Eskimo Recordings, Trunkfunk and Afro Art, Villbass also has a long history of remixing. The latest years, he has been remixing Norwegian bands as diversions from his daily studio focus. "Diversions" collects a wide range of Vinny Villbass' trademark analogue reworks, all produced at his peculiar studio collective at Grünerløkka in Oslo. Focus on each bands distinctive energy has resulted in a diverse compilation of contemporary Norwegian quality, from Norwegian Grammy award winning bands Beglomeg and King Midas, to Deathcrush, Pow Pow, Radio 9 and Lionheart Brothers, plus electropop artist Sandra Kolstad and jazz futurists Jaga Jazzist.

Danny Krivit's name has been synonymous with quality, underground dance music for many decades now.
His roles as re-edit pioneer, legendary NYC disc jock and all around music obsessive have long been written about.
Danny is approaching 45 years as a DJ, almost half a century behind the decks across the world and he shows no sign in stopping anytime soon fortunately! Quite fitting then, that he has opened up his personal, private archive of re-edits for all of us Disco fiends to enjoy and play over and over with this limited, fully licensed 12" release.
Any self respecting Disco head should be familiar with the name Voyage. Releasing on Miami's legendary TK Disco imprint as well as numerous other well known labels, Voyage have a dedicated cult following for their percussion heavy euro Disco sounds. Here Mr.K takes on one of their most famous cuts on the A-side - "Lady America" and teases all of the best bits about this uptempo anthem out into the open and straight onto the dancefloor! Breaks are elongated, the right parts are looped in just the right way and the tracks momentum is pushed right through the roof, a Disco bomb indeed! On the B-side we have "Point Zero", a smorgasbord of Afro percussions, chants and rhythms that will literally tear the roof off any club! again DK has tweaked this monster track in all the right places adding his magical editing touch with love and respect, essential stuff and a total dancefloor weapon!
Both tracks contained on this 12" have been fully licensed and legitimately reissued in conjunction with Danny Krivit / TK Disco. These edits have been lovingly reworked by Danny with dancers and DJ's alike in mind. A very special release indeed and one that all Disco heads will undoubtedly be excited to see in the shops! Calypso is the new label from INigo Vontier (Mx) and Thomass Jackson (Arg) which will focus on promoting latinamerican artists. With a solid background from both artists releasing on labels like Turbo, Correspondant, Gomma, Her Majestys Ship, My Favorite Robot and many more, Calypso promesses to deliver an inmersion into some of the best of the underground latinamerican electronic scene. Calypso "Volumen 1" features different artists including them both. Opening up we have "Transitions" from Mendrix (Mx) with a slowburn opener where enigmatic guitars take the lead role, then comes Monterrey's new kid Colossio delivering "Esta en Mi" with it's weirdo vocals and hypnotic basslines. For the B side Thomass Jackson gives us "Fantomas", a creepy funky track that will fit perfectly for Dracula's birthday and last but not least INigo Vontier takes us through a dark tunnel of creepy beats and dreamy arpeggios.

After whetting our appetites with a superb taster 12' earlier in the year, Music For Dreams now bring us the full double vinyl release of 'Volume 1', the hotly-anticipated debut LP from Ambala aka Phil Mison, the original Cafe Del Mar DJ, collector extraordinaire and all-round Balearic don.
Ambala continues Mison's extremely fruitful 15-year plus relationship with Kenneth Bager's Music For Dreams label which has seen him release material both as Cantoma and Frontera. This brand-new project was recorded in collaboration with Danish musician and engineer Volmer across a series of weekend sojourns in the scenic streets of Copenhagen and showcases yet another side of prolific producer Mison. He says: "Ever since I first met Kenneth Bager at Roskilde Festival in 1992, where I recognised his outlandish dress sense from photos I'd seen in i-D magazine, we have been friends. It was the start of a long musical relationship, where we eventually started working together. My first Cantoma album was recorded for Music For Dreams in the early 2006. The Frontera project with Pete Herbert was realized a couple of years later. Last year we decided it was time for something new, which led to recording Ambala over the past year in Copenhagen together with Thomas Volmer Schulz.'
This 10-track album reflects Mison's renowned eclectic tastes with a wide variety of sounds including the magical summery Caribbean house of 'Calypso Beach' (the first single), slow African chugger 'Bambari', 80s Italo-disco inspired 'Alla Vita', quirky old-school house in 'Sergio's Dance', vintage sunset ambient 'Last Swimmer', eighties soul infused house groove 'Union', Cantoma-style chilled Balearic track 'Zarago', 'High Line', an Italo-house style funky organ-driven groove wrought out of old school drum machines and soulful keys, 'Sol Serra' featuring classical Spanish flamenco guitaristJacob Gurevitsch, the cool deepness of 'Distant Island, plus a wonderful vocal cameo from Danish legends Laid Back on 'Walk With The Dreamers'.

Seeing as Public Release is a San Francisco label and sister to Face, a long-running local party, you could say it was inevitable the label would put out a record that candidly celebrates its hometown's talent, color, character. 415-PR10, whose name is an ode to S.F.'s first, emblematic area code, is exactly that: a frenetic survey of some of Northern California's finest producers— and a blueprint of sorts for more similarly-minded and -themed EPs in the future.
The 12-inch gets warmed up with an uncharacteristically brief yet captivating nugget of West Coast-tinted Balearica by Anonstop, a mysterious entity whose debut release was a pair of edits on the cult imprint Blackdisco that came out five years ago. Then, 40 Thieves, a collective of some of the region's most lauded and sought-after diggers, rev things up and settle into cruise control with Cage & Aviary's dubby, drifting mix of 'Lower Haighter.' It has a peculiar, crooked patience that sounds like an invitation to seek out all that goes bump in the night.
The strobes begin to flash on the flip with Be´zier's 'Domination,' a swinging Italo disco riot that's as sweaty and frisky as it is focused and no-nonsense. It's a subtly twisted jam that you'll swear played for hours when it sharply ends in a bass-and-hi-hat reprise, which is probably exactly what it was made to do; Be´zier, a.k.a. Robert Yang, is one fourth of Honey Soundsystem, the San Francisco DJ crew that's been throwing parties for over a decade. The EP calls it with the Beat Broker's 'Trade Secrets,' a glittery shuffler that almost serves as a medley of the three cuts it's preceded by. A dollop of velvety kosmische, a cup of slow-mo disco, and a sprinkle of underspoken piano house, it's a freeing way to wrap the four-tracker.

Big classic tunes reworked is the theme for the Star Time imprint and this one should be familiar to all, Chaka personifies super star and both Kon & The Reflex flip the anthemic "Im every woman "

Kon's mix stays true to much of the original song with just the right twist of acapellas, bassline's and drum breaks, providing plenty of tension and release that should keep the floor moving.

The Reflex strips things way down and flips the strings up a bit along with the guitar, building a lovely groove that finally brings us into into the verse.

Wonderful new compilation of unearthed gems from Balearica. Kicks off with the indemand full 12-minute version of the Chaplin Band's definitive take on Lucio Battisti's classic 'Il Veliero', a hypnotic druggy bass and guitar-driven dancefloor opus that tears the roof off every time. Followed by the short but sweet sun-drenched gem 'Flying Cloud' by The Doobie Brothers. Next up comes Boule Noire's 'Aimer D'Amour' a superb beefed-up French version of Leo Sayer's Balearic favorite 'Easy To Love' and then rounding things off is the gorgeous mellow groove of 'A Touch Of Temptation' by Japanese multi-instrumentalist Masaaki Ohmura taken from his impossible-to-find 'You Gotta Chance' soundtrack LP from 1985. Great collection.

Rothmans are back with their first release of 2016 and who better to bring in the new year than italian electropsycho's DJ Rocca & Daniele Baldelli. Of course this record would have to pay homage to an Italian great and who better than 1982 world cup hero Marco Tardelli . First up on the EP is a synth funk journey called Kratos. Rocca goes full on here and doesent hold back as he takes us on a journey of Synth wizardry and classic Italo beats. Up next is an another original from Rocca called Fonk 400 another track that could have been plucked starigt out of the golden age of Italo Disco , again Rocca is pulling no punches here. The EP is rounded off in spectacular fashion , just like Marco Tardelli's Famous world cup final celebration we have nothing short of genius with Daniele Badlelli's Electropsychomix of Kratos. Baldellie doing what he does best and taking us too another level yet again !!! After 2015 being their strongest year to date Rothmans look like they are gonna start the new season just as they eneded the last - top of the league .

Ricky L and Marcoradi have been friends for as long as they can remember. They frst met on the dancefoor of one of Italy's most iconic clubs, Red Zone in Perugia, where Ricky has been a resident DJ for the best part of 25 years. Now, they've joined forces in the studio for the frst time, uniting under the Hear &
Now alias for Claremont 56. Those with a keen knowledge of Italian dance music will know their impressive track records. Both have a history of producing fne deep house records and remixes for the likes of Ibadan, Uomo, Reincarnation, Top Tracks, Restricted Tracks and Vega Records. With Hear & Now, they've decided to step back from the dancefoor, instead producing hazy, emotion-rich music for after-hours listening, and mornings spent blinking into the sunshine. A-side 'Hirundo' is a thing of rare beauty: a gently fowering opus constructed from shuffing, mind-massaging drum rhythms, spacey pads, stretched-out
organ chords and Marcoradi's effortless guitar playing. Lilting, alien synthesizer refrains seemingly tumble from the heavens, intensifying the duo's blissful mood. Flip for an even deeper excursion, the softly spun wizardry of 'Sabbia Magica'.
Here, the duo's house infuences gently rise to the surface. This is slow, deep and dreamy house from the top drawer, with jazz-fecked guitar fourishes and undulating electronics combining effortlessly with hypnotic, metronomic drums,
cascading string lines and a wonderfully dexterous electronic bassline. You can dance if you wish, but you may just want a hug instead.

Kevin Saunderson's KMS imprint is a label that should require no introduction. The motor city label has been a Techno mainstay since it's inception in 1987. Numerous Detroit luminaries have released classic after classic on the labels hallowed grooves over the last 25+ years and it's influence is still felt in contemporary dance music today. The idea behind the KMS "Origins" series is to shine a light on the lesser known cuts in the KMS vaults as well as the classics that have given the label it's legendary status during it's lifetime. Hot on the heels of the previous collections for the label, the 'Origins' series presents another stellar selection of jams from the legendary Detroit label's archives.

Opening the EP is K.A. Posse aka Kaay Alexi, a legendary producer whose 'Tell Alexi' features here, a raw, low slung acid burner with sultry vocals and tough as nail drum programming from 1989. Killer stuff indeed. Following that we have the Jovonn Blade mix of Terrence Parker's The Lost Articles jam 'Touch Me Baby' from 1993 - some classic Detroit early proto-beatdown sounds, rough and ready and still doing damage today. On the flip is the stone cold banger 'Flash' by FIX aka Orlando Voorn, this demented P-Funk ripper never quits and is a monster! Classic material. Finishing things off is the MK mix of Nexus 21's 'Still Life Keeps Moving On', it doesn't get any bigger than this, pure heat. Pretty much an all-star line up on vol. 4, a perfect release for the novice and expert alike! File under classic, all tracks encapsulate the Detroit sound while retaining that raw energy and vibe that this music is famous for! Heat!

The album contains the first ever publication of 'Heiraten's 7 inch version. The band from Hannover was originally formed in 1980 and released their first album 'Zum Teufel mit dem Kamel' in 1982. During this period they also recorded a second album, which, however, was never published.Some of the tracks on the record originate from this album which were restored jam sessions on tape.All tracks were edited and rearranged by Cid Hohner.

Initial listens to Inre Rymden (Swedish for Inner Space') reveal it to be a curious combination of slow-motion house music and salubrious New Age funk. In this case, first impressions are accurate, and they should intrigue you enough to dive deeper into the paradisiacal vistas Tommy Awards paint here.

The opening track Prometheus' introduces that feeling of sundown deliquescence that very few musicians can summon, as it locks into a laid-back groove that induces utmost serenity, buoyed by sublimely mellow guitar vibes that should make fans of Manuel Göttsching's Ashra and Phil Manzanera's solo output spring to attention.

Draget' conjures the sort of exquisite elegance and preternatural chill last heard on Roxy Music's 1982 LP Avalon — but somehow it's even more blissed out than that boudoir classic. And so it goes for most of Inre Rymden: Among the six tracks, only Rexy' hints at tension, courtesy of a bass line that sounds like it should score a prisoner's walk to the electric chair. But that's tempered by guitar sighs of radiant melancholy, not unlike those lo ed by Popol Vuh's Daniel Fichelscher.

Even when Inre Rymden gets relatively uptempo, as on Hans Logan,' it still glides like gilded, glazed, Balearic house jams, urged on by subliminal bongos and dappled with pastel guitar shimmers far off on the horizon. Music is love and love is our music,' runs Tommy Awards' slogan (a sentiment beautifully echoed by David Crosby on his revered 1971 album If I Could Only Remember My Name), but one could also argue that it is medicine — a balmy ear massage that spreads healing frissons to all areas of your body and mind.

Tommy Awards continue their miraculous act as Scandinavians channeling the tropics with stunning audio verisimilitude. Someone should notify the Nobel Prize committee.
