Dj Kaos returns with three massive nuggets. Gold Digger Style.

Honey Soundsystem releases 'Cosmologist', the latest offering from our Resident DJ: Robert Yang aka Bézier. A multi-instrumentalist, Robert was trained in saxophone starting at age 10, before moving onto a Fender Telecaster after high school. After being exposed to Southern California rave culture in the late 90s, he moved onto DJing and collecting records. By the time he planted his roots in San Francisco in 2005, Robert had built an impressive analog synth-based studio, which also serves as the creative hub for his riveting live performances.

'Cosmologist' explores Robert's personal universe with three tracks that connect his varied musical lineages. "Cosmos", a celebration of the late 80s/early 90s KIIS FM universe, is built around an infectious freestyle hook that morphs into a seven minute tour of intersecting styles. "Ether" begins as gothic night-driving electro, but breaks into fantasy-scapes inspired by Italo and 1980s Japanese anime theme songs. The final track, "d. Quelle", clocks in at over 11 minutes, incorporating bebop jazz solos drawn from his early exposure to improvisation techniques by Charlie Parker, Cannonball Adderley, and Stan Getz. All songs have been mixed by Mark Pistel (Meat Beat Manifesto, Consolidated) at Room 5, San Francisco and EQed for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios.

D-Pulse trippy album "Consequenced" now got first portion of remixes from band's favorite producers. Ron Basejam of Crazy P delivers a straight-forward disco gem, while Harvey Sutherland goes minimal and atmospheric in his unexpectedly laid back remix. RJ being a one half of Durerstruben sends the original "Waltz on the run" back in 2000's on a summer cruise and D-Pulse's homie Sportloto pours some fuel into the Russian cosmic-disco scene rocket.

First 2016 release from Disco Modernism, Milan! Fred Ventura new single is a classic Italoconnection production of a song originally written in 1984 and never finished until today. The new arrangements are almost totally inspired by the first demo and only a few ingredients have been added to the final track.
To complete the package we asked some of our favourite contemporary producers to rework the song in their unique style. Flemming Dalum go back to the early 80's typical sounds for his rework, Phil R rebuild the song with his personal and melodic touch, Codazzi increase the BPM for another of his pumping remixes. The release is strictly limited to 300 12' vinyls, 150 colored copies plus 150 classic black vinyls.

SCIAME (Italian for swarm) hits harder on the dancefloor then their previous releases, without losing a single drop of the italo lyrical magic.

Reissue of Elias Rahbani & His Orchestra's super rare Arabic Disco holy grail 'Liza Liza' on the original Lebanese 'Voix De L'Orient' label. Recorded pre-Civil War at a time when Beirut was known as the 'Paris of the Middle East', a luxurious holiday destination and flourishing trade centre. The title track is totally out of this world, perfectly blending Eastern & Western vocals, instruments and musical influences with a driving disco bassline to create an irresistible floor filling cosmic odyssey. The flipside features the even more out-there 'From The Moon' a fantastic tripped out psychedelic disco funk monster, followed by the dreamy accordion-led 'Summer Love'. Also boasting one of the sexiest covers in disco history further illustrating the liberal thinking and western influence in Lebanon at the time. Highly recommended!

Bodytonic started life in 2002 as a small club night based in Dublin and has since thrown parties everywhere from Sonar to Berghain, with guests including Carl Craig, Theo Parrish, Laurent Garnier, Horse Meat Disco, Switch & Diplo, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock and Q-Tip.

In addition to their ongoing club nights and label, Bodytonic run Irish nocturnal institutions Wigwam (formerly the Twisted Pepper venue) and the Bernard Shaw pub, whilst other areas of their rapidly growing empire include festivals, pubs, brewing beer, restaurants, a gallery, apps and websites.

One of Paper Disco's biggest tunes of this year has been given the all-star re-rub treatment and it's a full house of dancefloor dynamite.The original has been rocking the boxes of the great and the good since it was out last year on Trash The Wax # 2 and Luke Una Bomber played it last month on 6 the Music MIF special as Manchester's hot tune of the moment as well as Nemone on Electric Ladyland. Leftside Wobble delivers an absolute monster that has been doing some serious damage with the few jocks who have fandangled a copy. Bill Brewster dropped it in his closing Wildlife set and Chris Duckenfield has been pressing the launch button. We're talking a warehouse vibe with an arp riffed bass, plenty of reverb and the filtered, plaintive vocal giving it that emotional depth that all the best house music has. Make no mistake, this is one heavy remix. Florida's King of Disco Sleazy McQueen introduces a rolling bass, congas and some cheeky attitude for a stripped back joint that will smoke the floor. Add the vocal with subtle hypnotics from the original and it's a late night, low ceiling, dry ice moment. Fingerman sticks close to the original but beefs up the drums, ups the off bass and gives it a bit more swing for a mix that applies some crank.
Finally Peza goes deep with a techier version that has a motorkik feel to it. A reverbed snare, nagging acid, congas and bass build the track as it sucks you in to its world of dark disco. It's a head mangler in the best possible sense.

Nation Building is a real forgotten gem from the late '70s and is among the very best Afro-Beat Disco Lps ever. Berkely Ike Jones is one of the icons of the Nigerian scene being the guitarist and founder of BLO (forthcoming on PMG). BLO were one of the very best progressive bands from Nigeria and managed to release several albums for EMI (Nigeria) and Afrodisia Records. BLO are definitely a ground-breaking band, that managed to further establish the entire Afro-Funk genre. At the time Ginger Baker of Cream went to travel to Nigeria and invited Berkely Ike Jones to be part of session-band Salt. They went back to UK and toured in Europe. Berkely Ike Jones played with many bands like with Ofege on their Try and Love album and he also appeared on many other great albums by artists like Steve Black, Lijadu Sisters, Tee Mac, Kris Okotie, Sonny Okosuns Ozziddi, 'Blackman' Akeeb Kareem, Mixed Grill, Don Bruce And The Angels and Felix Lebarty. Nation Building is his solo project recorded in the late 1970s on Skylark Records. The original LP is extremely rare and very expensive, so this is your chance to grab your copy and listen to some really great Afro-Beat music.

This early vocal (house) gem was produced by Vince Lawrence and Jessie Saunders. It comes in two versions. A more straight forward original and a more dubbed out version by Farley Jackmaster Funk. Smalltown Supersound is proud to announce the new album from Dan Lissvik (formerly of Studio), the album is a brand new collection of instrumentals made throughout 2015, the year Lissvik became a father for the first time. The title refers to the time he would start his recording sessions after his wife and newborn baby went to bed. Midnight is filled with the Dan Lissvik signature sounds, gentle guitars, laidback bass, dubby disco, lush balearics and sun-drenced psychedelics.

The album was recorded at home with a stripped back setup of an analog graphic equalizer he found at a flea market, a bass guitar and a mic. He worked at night with a thermos of coffee, while his young family slept in the room furthest away from his studio. His process was to press record and let the midnight jams unfurl, resulting in a sound and mood that has shifted since his previous release, Meditation, under the moniker Atelje in January 2015. Ten years ago, Dan Lissvik was instrumental in kicking off the midnoughties Balearic revival alongside his partner in the group Studio, Rasmus Hägg. Both came from the frozen coast of Sweden (rather than Ibiza) and their debut West Coast was hailed as one of 2006's best releases, making Rough Trade's top 10 albums of the year. Their sound was a blissful, effortless, laidback afrobeat-kraut-disco-pop and won a legion of fans.

Though West Coast made Studio internationally acclaimed (they even remixed Kylie Minogue's 2 Hearts') that was the only record they ever made. Lissvik showed little interest in pursing an international DJ career or touring as a band,' preferring to stay in Gothenburg and record. Then, in 2012, six years after West Coast was released, Studio officially broke up with a quick note. For Studio-addicts, Lissvik hinted at a tantalizing stockpile of new material - at one point posting 50 tracks on Soundcloud before taking them down. Then in 2014, he started to release new material, beginning with the limited-edition 300- release run of the Atelje LP Meditations, with the Dan Lissvik Airwalk/Shuvit' 12' to follow via Smalltown Supersound. Now, ten years following the release of West Coast, as the influence of Studio's work reverberates up through a new generation of producers (Jamie xx sampled a beach-blissed loop from it for Girl'), Lissvik's Midnight is set for release.

Favorite Recordings proudly presents this new official single reissue of Glow of Love', by Dave Baker. A scorching Caribbean-Disco version of the classic anthem by Change and Luther Vandross produced and released in 1980 on Black Jack Records.

Black Jack was a UK based reggae label active between 1978 and 1982 and ran by Jamaican singer and producer Danny Ray. After recording for MCA Records and Trojan Records in the early 1970s, he later set up Black Jack label, producing mostly his own music and a few others singers such as Christine White and Shirley James.

During these short 4 years of activity, Danny Ray and Black Jack also produced a few isolated singles by more famous Jamaican singers like Winston Francis or Jackie Edwards. Amongst them was also this hot lovers-rock version of Glow of Love' by the great Dave Baker, famous member of The Techniques and half of the duo Dave & Ansell Collins.

Pursuing his collaboration with Favorite Recordings and the recent reissue of Lamar Thomas single (FVR099), this very rare record is coordinated for reissue by French DJ and collector Waxist (aKa Julien Minarro).

Remastered from the master tape in its original 12inch version for the occasion, the vinyl single package also includes an exclusive extended Dub version finely edited by Waxist.

Arp's stream-of-consciousness lyrical narratives are delivered by Brazilian artist Cibelle, with Viva contributing. Vocal tracks are often manipulated and multi-layered, while the music at times morphs into largely unidentifiable rhythm-scapes and electrifying sonic shifts.

Pete Herbert drops the second release on Paradise Row - the imprint he and Dicky Trisco set up to release their own output.

Mango Moon is a very Herbertesque number pumped full of musical influences from House to Italo to Disco, but with an eagle eye at all times on driving the dance floor really wild.
Pedro demonstrates his years of experience as both a producer and a DJ in a track that captures so much of the territory he has covered in both guises over the years.
With its pumping live disco underbelly, its melodic Italo-style keys riding on top and its rock solid drums, it really is a very classy production by a DJ/ producer who knows where he wants to go and how to get us all there at the same time.

Meanwhile on the flip, his label and DJ compadre Dicky Trisco flips the track in a live disco direction with an epic take of his own that throws more than a few surprises into the mix.

Phillip Lauer makes his third appearance on Beats in Space Records, this time alongside Boss In Space and burgeoning producer Tim Sweeney as T & P.
On Shoot The Freak, the dynamic duo deliver a groove-infused three tracker for your inner and outer freak.After sharing a gig at Robert Johnson, the intimate German club near Frankfurt known for its excellent sound system and minimalist flair, the pair shared a few, freaky days at Hotel Lauer (Phillip’s residence and recording studio in the bucolic German countryside) writing and tracking the cuts of Shoot The Freak. Having worked together in other capacities, a chance to creatively collaborate unleashed unhinged music from deep within the duo's collective soul. Conceptualized with New York City's historic amusement park and freak scene in mind, title track 'Shoot the Freak' adds an acidic 303 line alongside a hypnotic vocal sample, the track slowly ascending like a roller coaster before rocketing even deeper into space. The b-side struts its stuff with 'Luna Park' a smooth-burning, string-laden house burner.
'Garden of Tears' completes the EP, its synthetic voices and slow, emotive bass line chugging and churning into the glorious sunset along Coney Island's beachfront.
Each 12" on Beats in Space Records features original artwork in considerate and serial form. For Shoot The Freak, New York artist Peter Sutherland splits day and night through vertically collaged cosmic blinds. Afterlife is the fittingly-named sequel to 2012's Life, and sees the eight piece group venture into deeper, darker, more urgent territory. Chanted female vocals, pitched down male vocals, wild sax and horns coalesce into something uniquely antipodean, a bluestone back-alley hallucination that NO ZU call Heat Beat - a nocturnal sex dream bringing together no wave, funk, house, techno, and global percussion.

According to band leader Nicolaas Oogjes, Afterlife explores themes of human beauty, body movement, BDSM, belief systems, mortality, immortality, the fetishisation of Australian colonial invasion and destruction of land/cultures, all sung in dynamic dancefloor metaphors.



NO ZU have existed in various forms since 2007, but have really shifted into high gear of late. They contributed the standout track Raw Vis Vision to Cut Copy's definitive 2014 Melbourne dance compilation Oceans Apart, and instigated an ongoing collaboration with NYC punk-funk icon Sal P (Liquid Liquid).

Coming up over Australia's extended summer, they support No Wave icon James Chance (of the Contortions), then play Golden Plains and WOMAD.

Dj Sounds presents Moving, a 3 tracks record made for the dancers and the Djs. Track 1 "Moving" is an elegant built around a filtered disco-ish sample, simple while very efficient. "Casa Suave" is a classic sounding House track, easy to spin and sure to please the crowd. Closing the record, "Fragments" is a bit slower and deeper with its Roland pads and bass, still very danceable.

Jakarta based Jonathan Kusuma delivers a new EP on Cocktail d'Amore Music. After his European debut on Cosmo Vitelli's I'm A Cliche, followed by a successful EP on Berlin's imprint Love On The Rocks, the Indonesian artist keeps carrying the vessel of the Far East sound. The title track Black Magic is a fat disco-tribal inspired groove that builds fast, eventually climaxing with a cloud of acid synths and mystical vocals. Japanese duo Mascaras, Chida and Cos/Mes' 5ive, straighten up the groove giving a 4/4 beats restyling. The result is a Proto-Techno, Trance influenced soundscape, for foggy late-night dancefloors.Urban Sorcery is an Italo inspired maze of proto-acid synthesizers, sounding like an enchanted concrete-covered forest. 90's house inspired Redvox is an experiment of cosmic influences. As the vocal becomes part of the groove, the long pads fuel this spaceship pushing it to the borders of time and space.

Vanity Press was formed in 2015 by David Marroquin to preserve and proliferate Southeast Michigan's rich history of dance music. Our first release is a 3 tracker by by young Detroit producer Julian Kendall. Cool, composed, lean neo-jackers that work as well in the car as they do in the club.

Madcliff recorded this, their only album in 1977. Singer, Songwriter, Drummer, Bassist and Keyboardist Chris Hills wrote all of the songs, two of them with Chico Waters with whom he had co written with on Herbie Mann's Embryo label in 1971.
The album has a broad range of Soul, Funk and Disco tracks. It contains the original versions of two tracks that Chris would go on to record as a member of the Players Association later the same year. The early cuts of 'I Like It' and 'Goin' To The Disco' have a more raw approach than the better known and more polished versions. The killer cut is the funk bomb 'You Can Make The Change'. This track was made popular by KebDarge at his legendary deep funk nights. 'It Takes A Little More' was co written with Danny Weiss with whom Chris would work with as The Players Association and then as the group Feel in the early 80's. This album is one of the rarest that we have released in our classic albums series. Original Vinyl copies sell for around £200.

Red hot limited reissue of this super-rare promo 12' from tiny NYC disco label Are 'n' Be Records. Mixed by the legendary Morales and Muzibai (M & M Productions), this boogie masterclass from 1983 grabs you from the off with its super-funky bassline, tight double handclaps and compulsive cowbells before Andrea Stone's dreamy falsetto vocals jab funk shaped holes all over the heady groove.
Flip over for the mind-blowingly tasty dub mix, a big favourite of many in-the-know disco DJs and hugely in-demand since being one of the standouts on Dmitri from Paris' Nightdubbin' compilation.

Invisible Inc's latest limited 12' brings cosmic adventurer Secret Circuit into the fold. Secret Circuit is the project of musician and visual artist Eddie Ruscha (Laughing Light Of Plenty, Blasé, Thriftcoteque, amongst others) whose solo and collaborative activities have issued forth an inordinate number of stellar releases on labels such as Emotional Response, Beats In Space, Internasjonal Spesial, ESP Institute, Exist Dance and Rush Hour's 'No Label'.

With Higher Planes Drifter Secret Circuit has excelled himself yet again. From the outset the bar is set pure and high and we're transported to far flung reaches where only Secret Circuit can take us: expanding upwards and outwards to bathe in the synthesized waves of a warm cosmic ocean. Gothic Rainbow, as the title might suggest, starts off dark and brooding like a bio-mechanical John Carpenter, and slowly evolves into what is quite possibly the most uplifting, blissful piece of music we've heard in a good while. With innumerable synths, a deeper-than-deep bass and a soaring guitar Ruscha manages to blend a perfect sound that's as emotionally warm (and emotive) as it is refreshing. Cold electronic music this is not!

Rattlesnake Jelly and Rhythmatic Generator push further out. With touches of 'kosmische', experimental lo-fi, some serious synth workouts and tripped up beats the music truly defies categorising as there's nothing else quite like it. Imagine, if you will, swarms of hallucinating microbes at a mass pagan ritual set on the surface of an old drum machine's circuit board and you'll be close.

The closing track, Memory Melt, is a thing of pure, lilting beauty. Transcendant, laidback and dubbed out, its piano, guitars, bass and space echo combine in a swirling whirlpool of colorful sound that early morning ravers on the beaches of Ibiza have only dreamed about in what is known as the vertical time shell pod: a phenomenon that appears on certain beaches once every 3 years.

 I made a mistake,' but this long-lost modern soul track is anything but a flub. Stu Gardner, leading a group of top notch session musicians in 1980, noticed there was still time on the clock after they had finished their work for a popular network television show. Making good use of precious moments, the band recorded an exuberant track that's quintessential 80's with a timeless and positive message. It's about love, desire and that bass line. Don't fight it.

Chicago's AL & TONE are back with 2 dancefloor burners on this new 7". AL kicks things off with the groovy disco instrumental "TSUNAMI" while TONE tackles the under the radar Afro boogie jam "SUNBURN". Both tracks should garner major spins and further solidify their rep for quality.

Official limited 300 copies reissue of the rare Blow Up records release of the Italo masterpiece Pink Footpath by Loui$. Originally released in 1985 and here officially remastered and released for the first time with original artwork and full picture sleeve under license of Gianni John' Tirelli. On the A side is Magic Dance and on the flip side the instrumental version of the track Pink Footpath' that with its analogue bassline , synths and mediterranean guitar riffs become a must to have and one of the most played tunes in Ibiza / New york / Chicago crossing the Italo disco and disco borders.

I had just opened "Click Records", my record label in the center of Milan, a short walk from CBS. Was in the '80s and in my office there was a constant coming and going of artists, many young talents at the first experience, others already well under way and some who later became famous as Pino Mango and Eros Ramazzotti - with which I composed the song "Un Amico" who later won St. Vincent festival catapulting him to the Sanremo Festival.

One day appeared to me a certain Luigi Fregapane (aka Louis) with a demo by himself produced in Turin. I listened to the track several times, and with a smile to him I gave my OK for that song sketched by hand.

The voice of Louis was amazing, and his dowry of guitarist eclectic and very personal was evident . I phoned Alberto Radius and booked a few days of studio to produce the track we later called "Magic Dance". Once the A side was done , I personally decided to work on a remix to which I gave the name "Pink Footphat" after being delighted observing an infinity of pink flowers covering like a carpet the street I was walking through in Milan.' Olderic and Musumeci, whose friendship and close alliance is layering on their deep passion for electronic music, are stepping up to compile and mix the sixth instalment of Compost Records' Black Label Series DJ mix compilation. Both artists steadily and successfully shaping and contributing a modern, forward thinking approach of dance music and club culture - made in Italy.

Olderic, heading from Venice, is resident DJ at one of the most influential underground clubs in Italy - CirQ - where he's got a perfect platform to shape his unique style as a DJ but also gaining invaluable inspiration for his own productions. His 'Alma EP' released on Compost Black in 2015 as well as his recent remix for Musumeci & The Element and a soon to be released collaboration with Peter Pardeike (both for Connaisseur) are state of the art house music and received support by the likes of Mano Le Tough, Âme, Laurent Garnier, Tale Of Us or Ewan Pearson to name a few. Whereas Sicily based Musumeci, also part of the project Human Machine - making big waves with their '146 EP' these days, is one of the masterminds behind the superb Italian underground label Engrave Ltd - and a top notch DJ of course!

This being said, we are more than happy that Olderic & Musumeci now teamed up to compile and mix the next chapter of our Black Label Series. The duo did a superb job digging the crates and putting their favourite tunes of our rich and eclectic catalogue into motion. Paying attention to the labels recent years true highlights as well as adding some of their personal secret weapons in form of Musumeci & Olderic Special Edits - now exclusively available as part of the compilation for the first time. Olderic and Musumeci drawing a very personal picture and show how to shift from more leftfield and disco tinged territories to modern House, Techno and beyond to otherworldly regions of dance music with this fluent yet diverse mix which is touching all the right spots and senses - on and off the dancefloor!

Introducing Felix Leifur, Dirt Crew's latest discovery, an all new, raw and savvy talent from Reykjavík, Iceland. Reykjavík has a population of just over 120,000, so the disco, hip hop and soul sampling, house music community that Felix rolls with is pretty tight knit, giving him a unique and inspired perspective on the sound. Remixing is friend of the label, Manchester's Hidden Spheres. After breaking through on our 'Deep Love 10' compilation, he went on to drop his 'Waiting' EP last summer on 'Distant Hawaii' (the dreamy offshoot of 'Lobster Theremin'). On the A, 'Berg Toppur', is a dance floor workout, a sublime balance of shimmering rhodes and vibrant arps with slamming organic percussion. 'Giving' is a spirited and warbling cut, crooning vocals and gritty horn blasts punctuate it's steady groove and loose live clap. This one's got open air written all over it. On the B-side, 'The Sunday Club' is a eclectic and somewhat eccentric jam, samples from across decades, weave together to create something altogether new. Next up, Hidden Spheres' Rocky Top' remix of 'Berg Toppur' eases in with a casual vibe, steamy drums, and a no-nonsense bass line set the pace, while the arps and elated vocals from the original sweep and soar, building to a feverish peak of sun-scorched bliss. Finally, 'Wait' sets the mood with a dusty jazz piano refrain and a strutting groove, before bringing the playful yet punchy trip home with a solid head-nodding bass line. Felix Leifur's diverse ear and distinct style gives 'The Sunday Club' EP the perfect blend of breezy summertime spirit and serious night club heat.

As they did on their last release, Hell Yeah once again look to offer new takes on some of their excellent recent album projects here. This new EP finds four producers tackling tracks from Tempelhof's blissful and beautiful, ambient and slo-mo work alongside Gigi Masin, namely 2014's Hoshi. Those producers are Ptaki, Balearic Gabba Sound System as well as label regular Luminodisco and the legendary Reverso 68.
First up is fast rising The Very Polish Cut-Outs artist Ptaki, who with his remix offers up a seductive and sombre number with lazy chords, gently swaying drums and a subtle Balearic feel. Dreamy vocals complete the picture, but buy the EP digitally and you will also get a bonus instrumental. Then comes the label's in house and off kilter production team, Balearic Gabba Sound System, who flip 'Buena Onda' into a deep cut bit of sunset disco with glowing arps, elastic drums and sweeping string sounds in typically stylish fashion. It's all very romantic and sun kissed and that continues with Reverso 68 aka long time Balearic stars Pete Herbert and Phil Mison. Their take on Red Venus is one that slowly builds in stature, with plenty of lush pads, cute stabs and percolating drums that really lift you up.
Lastly, Hell Yeah regular Luminodisco gets a little more broken up and experimental with his dishevelled but soulful sounding version of My Velvet Book It's slouchy like a hip hop record, but overall, like a modern take on Don Carlos.Supported by Test Pressing, Lexx, Leo Mas, Justin Vandervolgen, Phil Mison, Pete Gooding, Kenneth Bager, Kito Jempere, Akirahawks, DJ Hendrix, Andy Wilson, Hugh Herrera, Chida, Reza Athar, Tensnake

Welcome to the first instalment of the new "Disco Diva Delights" series on Ambassadors Reception!

The compilation series will focus on one of the most important ingredients that is needed to make disco beautiful: the female vocals. Yes, we all know that mainstream disco divas have been featured and covered to death and you should also know by now that the Ambassador's Reception doesn't do mainstream.

So you won't find any Donna or Gloria here, my darlings. With that in mind, we decided to dig a little deeper and unearth some gems that you might know and some you might not. Compiled by veteran digger and DJ Stevie Kotey these nuggets have been tried and tested on the dancefloor, but will also provide perfect listening at home when you're ironing your flares for the weekend.

If this latest missive from Camp Nado is anything to go by, we're in for a scorching Summer. For the eighteenth (though mysteriously numbered 014) release on the Mancunian institution, Messers Moonboots and Boardman invite a cosmopolitan cast from France and, well, Yorkshire, to take us for a stroll through the surf. Hull's Renaissance man, Steve Cobby, takes centre stage on his label debut, collaborating with Leeds musician Rich Arthurs on the A-side epic 'Bushfarmer' before showcasing his skill at the mixing desk with a B-side remix of Penelope Antenna's sultry 'Tradewinds', which also appears in all its original glory.
Stretching languorously over the whole of the A-side, 'Bushfarmer' sees the Yorkshire duo harness the power cosmic at the heart of 'Transfer Station Blue' and 'E2-E4' to perfectly soundtrack the blazing embers of the setting sun. Over the course of a totally immersive ten minutes, the track transforms from a lone guitar to a widescreen symphony of kosmische psychedelia, slowly buildingthrough nebulous FX, frazzled sequences and skittering rhythms. As we head into the second half of the opus, the guitar drops out and the track drifts along in a hazy soundscape, before taking us home with a low slung space disco groove. Epic in any sense of the word, this is one trip you can't afford to miss.
Aficionado present another debutante on the B-side, enticing Balearic royalty Penelope Antenna (daughter of Isabelle) to grace the label with the siren song of 'Tradewinds'. A coastal serenade awash with lapping waves and gentle cicadas, this horizontal jam seems to float in a heat haze, swaying gently to a laid back rhythm while sweltering keys and gentle chimes suggest an endless Summer. Reaching for the factor 50, Mr Cobby tops a drum box backbeat with buttery bass and smooth keys, pushing the vocal up in the mix to serve up a flavourful portion of Summery soul food. Adding discofied guitar, jazzy organ and a killer breakbeat as the track progresses, the Fila Brazilia man ensures his remix sizzles until the last seconds. Officially Aficionado.

Frisbee is in orbit again. it just landed to bring three individual magic people together. Dea with his casual nature and gift to hear out the unique. Albion with his intention to find all mindriving sounds in this galaxy and spAceLex with the vision of all people dancing together to the sound which is around us. Anybody have his own understanding of music but there is one way we ride together. On this way we found out what to do. Releasing obscure electronic disco from 1977 to 1980 with the special touch of virginity. The emotion and the power these tracks have, is indescribable. Now its time to jump on the Frisbee and slide through the universe.

From a basement studio in Hackney, East London comes PAYFONE's 2nd release on GOLF CHANNEL - QUARANTINE b/w PADRE, PRAY FOR US. Following on from 2014's extremely well received PARADISE heater, PAYFONE continue down a similar path for the A side QUARANTINE. Featuring once again 24 year old vocal powerhouse Louis Howard Jones, QUARANTINE is a semi auto biographical take on the hardships of a an underprivileged youth, set against a tough Phil Passera production that sounds more New York City 1984 than New Port County 2004 (Jones was born and raised in Cardiff). Cruising at 120 BPM, the dark funk guitar intro gives way to some heavy slap bass and deep synth that touches Michael Jackson's THRILLER before the direct and brutal vocals of Jones hit you right between the eyes.PADRE, PRAY FOR US is a bizarre Afro-Cuban inspired homage to Passera's Italian father Sergio ( who's telephone call can be heard on the songs intro). Featuring the lethal trumpet of former Cuban military private Eikel Venegas Hernandez, this instrumental takes you to the Pinata Party via downtown Lagos.

The infamous grey Secret Squirrel has landed and is ready to take over the woods.
Yet more nuts stuff for clubs from the anonymous rework maestros. Cut loud and built for maximum club use. Dance floor devastation is guaranteed!

Those notorious victims of session return to what we like to think of as their spiritual home, if not their physical one, with the brilliant Glow In The Dark EP, and if you thought Solomun and his neon nights were the only day-glow players in town it's time to think again as the SV boys slap on the luminous paint and head straight to the dancefloor.
First up we have Yes I Know which carries on where Good Intentions left off with their own inimitable blend of raw house, disco, soul and funk all put in the pot and stewed to perfection. We think this track is the epitome of a Session Victim DJ set with the vibe, energy and flow of a two hour party condensed into a very heady six and a half minutes of fun and frolics.
Next up we have Berlin young gun Max Graef in on remix duties, shaking things up in a Box Aus Holz style and fashion. He does a brilliant job retaining the vibe of the original but adds his own unique spin on it with a killer funked up bassline and fat groove for the floor.

Finally, we have title track Glow In The Dark, a classic SV-style filtering balearic beauty which unfolds over 7 minutes into a hand-raising, seratonin-boosting masterclass in modern-day lo-slung disco.

Too early to go home, too late to stay still... Hailing from Gastonia in North Carolina, the acclaimed and highly-collectible Chocolate Cholly's label produced a slew of top-class funk and boogie 12's and LPs in the early 80s and this is no exception. A rocking synth-laden dancefloor bomb boasting a truly sleazy squelching bass, slamming drums and a great vocal, the rarity of this hugely desirable track has pushed prices for the original sky-high. Back in 2013, Futureboogie released The Fade EP by Outboxx, a record that received critical acclaim from the who's who of music press, helping to propel Outboxx on the upward trajectory they've managed to maintain since those early releases. Unsurprisingly, Futureboogie are delighted to get the pair back for more.
Having developed their sound in the two years since, the pair has refined the raw ingredients of those records to show a combined maturity beyond their collective years. Previously the pair of producers (Matthew Lambert and Jake 'Hodge' Martin) have released music on respected independent imprints such as BRSTL, Idle Hands, Well Rounded Records and Local Talk; honing their analogue rich sound that touches on the hard edge of drum machine rhythms crafted by Hodge and the harmonic, jazz soaked embellishments from Lambert on Keys.
'Day One' opens with the sound of a string sample drifting behind warm drums to beautifully open up proceedings. As the track develops with an explosion of shuffling hi hats, the main hook enters with more than a nod to the classic Acid basslines of a 303, built to hypnotize dancers into the early hours with subtle simplicity.
The EP's title track 'Under The Lights' shows the pairs appreciation of Disco, with overdriven drums and a dotting bassline setting the feel. As the track develops, elements of Detroit enter the picture, with more string samples setting the key, and further allowing Lambert to contribute more of his signature Jazz licks as the track winds down to an unwanted close.
'Gift of Life' features the always-beautiful vocal contributions from long-term collaborator, Naomi Jeremy. Having featured on some of their most memorable releases to date, Jeremy's vocals again add a complexity often found in Jazz, but with the drum machine funk of 90's House; creating a sound that blurs the lines between sampling and original composition, uniquely, as only Outboxx can.
The record ends on the appropriately named 'Closing Titles', a track seemingly built to allow Lambert the opportunity to show his prowess and mastery of melody and harmony. Creeping basslines and warm chords mix with looped drum machine rhythms to wind down the release elegantly, showing the pairs versatility and understanding of each other's strengths.

Smalltown Supersound is proud to announce the new album from Dan Lissvik (formerly of Studio), the album is a brand new collection of instrumentals made throughout 2015, the year Lissvik became a father for the first time. The title refers to the time he would start his recording sessions after his wife and newborn baby went to bed. Midnight is filled with the Dan Lissvik signature sounds, gentle guitars, laidback bass, dubby disco, lush balearics and sun-drenced psychedelics.

The album was recorded at home with a stripped back setup of an analog graphic equalizer he found at a flea market, a bass guitar and a mic. He worked at night with a thermos of coffee, while his young family slept in the room furthest away from his studio. His process was to press record and let the midnight jams unfurl, resulting in a sound and mood that has shifted since his previous release, Meditation, under the moniker Atelje in January 2015. Ten years ago, Dan Lissvik was instrumental in kicking off the midnoughties Balearic revival alongside his partner in the group Studio, Rasmus Hägg. Both came from the frozen coast of Sweden (rather than Ibiza) and their debut West Coast was hailed as one of 2006's best releases, making Rough Trade's top 10 albums of the year. Their sound was a blissful, effortless, laidback afrobeat-kraut-disco-pop and won a legion of fans.

Though West Coast made Studio internationally acclaimed (they even remixed Kylie Minogue's 2 Hearts') that was the only record they ever made. Lissvik showed little interest in pursing an international DJ career or touring as a band,' preferring to stay in Gothenburg and record. Then, in 2012, six years after West Coast was released, Studio officially broke up with a quick note. For Studio-addicts, Lissvik hinted at a tantalizing stockpile of new material - at one point posting 50 tracks on Soundcloud before taking them down. Then in 2014, he started to release new material, beginning with the limited-edition 300- release run of the Atelje LP Meditations, with the Dan Lissvik Airwalk/Shuvit' 12' to follow via Smalltown Supersound. Now, ten years following the release of West Coast, as the influence of Studio's work reverberates up through a new generation of producers (Jamie xx sampled a beach-blissed loop from it for Girl'), Lissvik's Midnight is set for release.

Mike Simonetti's first solo release since 2011 is a huge departure from his Italians-era work and that label's sound in general. Mike has been DJ'ing around the world for almost 10 years and and these tracks are club ready. Mike has a residency at Bossa Nova Civic Club and broke the tracks there to wide acclaim, so he decided to name the song after his favorite club.

Music For Dreams are proud to present the latest vinyl sampler of 'Mediterraneo - Rare Balearica Vol 1', their Leo Mas curated series of sought after Italian goodies!
Leo Mas says: "This third sampler of my 'Mediterraneo' compilation opens with 'U (I Dig You)' by Chrisma, a cover of 'Who' by Odyssey, a project from 1974 that saw Vangelis collaborate with Richelle Dassin and Robert Fitoussi and which only ever came out on 7". It was covered twice in 1977, once by Chrisma and also by Demis Roussous, with his 'I Dig You' version. Chrisma's cover was produced by Niko Papathanassiou, Vangelis' brother, and the version I choose is the Extended, found on side A of the original 12", a sexy and nocturnal funk disco suite that I love.
'The second track on side A of the sampler is 'Clouds Over Thin Paper' by Faust'O from his album 'Love Story' that came out in 1985. Faust'O is a great borderline artist, original and innovative, a true rebel. His first productions from the late Seventies have a sound between Berlin Bowie, Joy Division and the first dark new-wave.
'On the B side, I choose 'Blue Light', a track by Giorgio Li Calzi ft. Marconi Union. Calzi collaborated in his career with artists like Wolfgang Flür from Kraftwerk, Alexandre Balanescu and others and for this track he worked with Marconi Union from Manchester, true makers of a minimal English ambient sound, who also worked with Jah Wobble. 'Blue Light' is an emotional track with a great dreamy atmosphere that I loved at first listening, simply beautiful. With my partner Fabrice we did a version of 'Blue Light', the Androids Dream Remix. We chose this title because while working on it memories of Ridley Scott's Blade Runner came to us!", finishes Mas. Limited vinyl - don't sleep.

Previously unreleased. Webster Station was a demo session recorded for Warner Bros. in 1979. The demo was rejected for not being 'mainstream' enough for their label and the tape remained in an A&R office for over 3 decades. Family Groove has faithfully restored the original tape for release on limited edition vinyl. 300 copies only.

Few parents while away time at the school gates discussing analogue synthesizers, dusty drum machines, and obscure old records. Then again, few parents are quite as musically
decorated as Mark Evetts and Stuart Hobbs. Evetts, of course, has carved out a successful career as a globetrotting DJ/producer under the Mark E alias, delivering a string of killer albums and singles on such esteemed labels as Running Back, Spectral Sound, Golf Channel Recordings, ESP Institute and his own Merc imprint. As for Glasgow-raised Hobbs, he currently works as a producer out of his own SHONK studio in Oxford, having previously co-owned Crash Records in Glasgow, and appeared in all manner of weird and wonderful bands alongside former members of Teenage Fanclub, Superstar, Ride and Candyskins. As the duo got to know each other - and their shared musical interests - while waiting to pick up their respective fve year-old daughters from school, a plan began to form. They'd
get together in the studio to have some fun, indulging in 'an eclectic groove-driven forage into the wonky playing of frst takes'. They decided nothing was off limits except 'the
formula'. Thus, Quarry Hollow was born. The frst results of their musical partnership are presented on this fne debut EP for Leng.
It's a deliciously warm, fuzzy and off-kilter exploration that touches on numerous musical styles, whilst developing an endearing loose mix of krautrock guitars, heavy dub basslines, bongo-laden percussion and futtering synthesizer lines. 'The Path Of Tranquility', the EP's triumphant title track, sounds like an unlikely jam session between Tangerine Dream, Terry Riley, Can and The Idjut Boys - all picturesque synthesizer lines, attractive cyclical melodies, fuzzy guitar textures and rolling, organic percussion. It's utterly sublime. 'Long Slide' takes a drowsy, high-grade fuelled trip into Balearic dub territory, with aquatic funk guitars drifting in and out of a mix that wisely emphasizes the duo's heavyweight bass, live percussion and ghostly synthesizers. 'Masons Arms', on the other hand, tips a wink to low-slung post-punk rock, whilst at the same time maintaining one eye on the dancefoor via restless ercussion, Doors-style organ riffs and hazy, psychedelic electronics. For its 4th release, Malka Tuti is welcoming J.A.K.A.M. to its ever-expanding family. Born in Tokyo Japan, J.A.K.A.M. has been been one of the leading figures developing the music scene in Japan from the early 90s as a DJ, producer and a band member. His wide variety of musical influences ranges from house, hip hop, drum&bass, techno, reggae, jazz, rock and world music. With combining these different styles of inspirations and tradition, he creates the most unique time and space on the dance floor, a kind of fusion of early tribal house (recording live instruments in the studio), world music with a pinch of shamanic spiritual vibes. On his ep for Malka Tuti he delivers 2 Original epic tunes, followed by a smokey dub version by Versatile Records boss Gilb'r and a total dance-floor smashing remix by Aussie prodigy - Dreems. The label is also stating: "This record will include a hand-printed silk-screen cover and will be limited to 400 copies", so don't sleep on it.
