Through their label Cocktail d'Amore, Discodromo and Boris offer you thefirst 12" from Studio Luce. Studio Luce is Berlin's newest musical collaboration bringing Franz Scala and Dimitri SoEmotional together to explore the sensitive pulse of dance music. Their roots are synth funk, 80's modern soul, new wave, electroand old school disco. The original track is called "Defender X" and can be described as a funktrack with a contemporary digital touch. Surrounding it, Toby Tobias andTuff City Kids (Gerd Janson and Lauer) provide their interpretations. While Toby develops his version in a 2-part remix made of dubby chord stabs, a deep rolling bassline and an excellent meticulous production,Tuff City Kids opt for a warm bassline, very tight drum programming, shimmering trancey synth and a catchy house-chords progression right tothe last breakdown. The latter also emphasize the rhythmic section for anadditional track called "drum remix" which pays tribute to Idjut Boysproductions including a lot of reverbs and reverse tape delays.

After releasing an EP on Circus Company alongside Marc Schneider, remixing Luomo aka Vladislav Delay, having his first singles remixed by Mano Le Tough, Area aka M50 and Wasted Gaze and finishing his first album which will see the light of day early 2013, it is about time for a new record. Mutating at the unusual speed of 149 BPM, 'Chevere' is an ever changing, sizzling beast of a track with snakelike twist and turns, thunderous drums and acid-drenched leads. 'Flipside Of Time' just builds and builds and builds. Take some classic Juno-strings, trademark Aera arpeggios, add some noise, a nasty kick-drum and some more noise, this is it. A twisted
anthem for the brave. After this kind of heavy onslaught, 'Die Pferden' takes the time to kick back a little and deliver something more conventional - at least in Aera's terms: built upon a chopped up, slightly skipping vinyl sample, an evolving, reverb bathed bass-line and some chunky drums. Pluie/Noir has been pushing the boundaries between the worlds of music and graphic art. Signed by no other than Romanian tour-de-force Petre Inspirescu, this EP delivers two quite distinct yet wonderfully immersive moments of pure bliss and incredible production forte. Un Livret de Duminica strikes somehow familiar to his musical adventures as TT Ensemble out on his own Yojik-Concon, and re-imagines it in a different yet dreamy setting where classic music once again bends with the finest micro-house grooves. Synth Society draws the listener away from the skyline and lands him inside a giant modular system. Here the hooks are on the addicting bassline and the unsettling sense of room space on all frequencies of modular sounds he used, proving that Petre is without a doubt one of the most intelligent and provocative music writters/producers around. Artwork was drawn by talented fine-arts student and music producer Traian Chereches (TC Studio), member of the P/N Artist Collective.Definitely a great start for the imprint, and a mere glimpse of what's coming next.

whatever else was to be found in the piles of soviet Melodiya records. Schmoltz delivered three
great jazzy, deep & soulful tracks for his debut 12inch on czech based Visky Recordings.
On top of that the B side offers a remix from Ferrispark label head Scott Ferguson. Scott gave
to Raindrops a totally different feel and energy in a way of his own.

Ralph Lawson and Carl Finlow co-founded the 2020Vision label in 1994 and were responsible for producing most of the early output of the label. As the label grew so did demand for the duo as a production team. They started 2020Vision remix and embarked on creating a significant body of work. Their best loved mixes became a series of remixes for classic New York act Blaze which included 'Funky People', 'Wishing you Were Here' and of course 'Lovelee Dae'. 'Lovelee Dae' stands out as a unique production and is still played regularly today by Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano. It is listed as one of the all time top 100 classic house records ever. The 2020 studio was home for Chez Damier, Ron Trent, Stacey Pullen, Alton Miller and many more when they visited the UK. Lawson & Finlow co-created the much-loved 'Chuggles' series of records with Chez Damier for Prescription Underground at the studio in Leeds. They went on to produce music for Arthur Baker, Telex, Felix da Housecat, Shawn Christopher, Josh Wink, Jori Hulkonnen, Soldiers Of Twilight and Swag among many others.

In 2002 the partnership faded as Carl Finlow moved to Paris. Over in France Carl pursued his solo project Random Factor while Lawson threw himself into his live band 2020Soundsystem. Exactly 10 years later they have decided to make music again together. Ralph Lawson describes it this way -

"It was basically down to being in the right time and place again. We never made music or took remixes unless we were really feeling them. When the artist Freak Seven came along I instantly thought of Carl as they come from similar roots - purist Detroit electro and techno soul. When I heard 'We Bring The Music" I asked the artist Nav for the parts and immediately got a drum track together on my machines and worked out the vocal arrangement. I sent the finished dub to Carl and just told him to do his thing. He sent me back his live keyboard takes in a day. As soon as I heard them I was overcome. I got goose pimples and a tear came to my eye. It was if 10 years had been 10 minutes. We were instantly transported back to the original 2020Vision studio together but we hadn't even been in the same room."

Their first release for 10 years is extremely special to both the duo and the label. We are going back to our roots but with music designed for right here and right now. We have decided to make this release vinyl only, not as a fashion statement, but because that is how a 2020Vision record originally started its life. We decided to start again from the beginning and see where it leads. The remix can be compared to their classic work while aiming firmly at a modern dancefloor. Anif Akinola's vocals are layered and cut up around Lawson's tight drum workout while Finlow adds ever-moving synth soundscapes, gritty analogue undercurrents and moments of beauty. We have made 10 test pressings for DJs we love and respect. You are one of them.

Bokhari has been inspired by Mo' Wax of old, and Firecracker of present where care was/is also taken on packaging and design.
Each release will feature a different illustrator / artist for the design.

Musically we will aim to stick loosely within the realms of house and techno, but often with our own slant on it; and as the first release shows, in this case will include some afro percussion and a touch of acid.

Artwork for release 001 is by the excellent illustrator Andy Potts (former head of design at Abbey Road Studios), and every single vinyl will be signed and numbered.

Balkan Vinyl label bosses Posthuman on a serious acid house tip here. Title track It's A House Thing rolls along with a deep 303 bassline and lush Juno 106 pads set against vocal snippets and clattering drum machines. Mark Archer (of Altern 8 / Nexus 21) ups the tempo with his remix and twists the acid some more, all 909 drums on a classic techno vibe.
Try Again gets heavier and dirtier with snarling 303's and breakbeats, while the EP closer B-Loop is a proper DX bassline jacker, full of juddering rave stabs and tom-toms.

The killer 1981 cassette only release “Here” by COLIN POTTER, is expanded to a double LP with all sorts of additional bonus material released for a first time here. Ace new sleeve art is from Jonathan Coleclough who was behind the artistic reins of the initial Mirage cassette release 38 years ago.

You probably know by now that Colin is the head behind respected electronic label ICR, and is a longterm member of NWW and has played with the likes of Current 93 and Organum etc; and that his revered back catalogue of hugely influential cassette only, DIY electronic releases is slowly being transferred to vinyl via the likes of (PY sister label) Deep Distance and Dark Entries?

“Here” continues the reissue programme, and as he pieced together the out-takes and demos to form this double LP, Colin says “’Here’ marked a move away from some of the more song-orientated music I had been making up to then, towards purely instrumental tracks. On the (new) sleeve I describe it as ‘rural electronic music’ which was to some extent a reflection of my life in a small village in North Yorkshire. Listening back to it now, I can’t figure out how I managed to do it with just a 4 track recorder....”
