Sven is back at the track, in high form and in full effect! The master of all things techno and the international techno-shamen number one presents a pristine remix package just in time to celebrate his 50th birthday! When you look at the dancefloor at one of Sven's gigs these days you'd probably realize that a vast majority of his crowd wasn't even born when the originals of 'L'Esperanza' and 'Beauty & The Beast' were releleased. This man layed down some of the biggest stones to the foundation of techno and tech-house and he has choosen the right names to spice up these classic hits! 'L'Esperanza' received remix-treatment by Berlin based duo Âme of Innervision. Sven supported these folks right from the start and helped to spread the power of their megahit 'Rej' even with some mad stagediving performances. And the two did a proper job by transforming the original chill-out tune into a vital up-to-date tech-house gem. Âme merge trance, house and minimal-techno elements with the right parts of the original in a fine and elegant way. The result makes almost three generations of ravers feel home again while getting mad on the dancefloor. Thanx guys! Gerd Janson and Philipp Lauer aka the Tuff City Kids chip in their rework of Sven Väths 'Beauty & The Beast". The two are not even trying to create an up-to-date flavour here at all - which is just perfect! Impatience is thrilled to present Leaving Memory, the latest album-length work by Piper Spray and Lena Tsibizova. Leaving Memory is a searing distillation of the duo’s ouevre - it’s eleven prismatic electronic seances combining for a mind warping wormhole with it’s own internal (il)llogic, where pop, ambient, and industrial music convene beneath a rugged HD of digital processing and brain fog. Equally rosy with nostalgia as it is ominously forward looking, Leaving Memory defies easy categorization and makes for an astounding, confounding listen.

By turns violently abrasive and disarmingly touching, Piper and Lena deploy sounds that fracture and disintegrate, burn up and explode, synthetic supernovas that give the record an unmistakable, inimitable texture. Song structures often abide by their own blueprint - heading in one direction before making an abrupt dive elsewhere. Bursts of vibrant colour lurk below layers of grayscale noise. Unidentifiable voices deliver secret messages from the murk. When rhythm’s emerge they ground the tracks to some unknown terrain and invigorate.

Lame Line veers towards the sweeter end of their spectrum, a hazy plaintive repetition increasingly lashed with friction, before Exit erupts with clanging rhythm and shards of distortion. Diagnosis is an almost sweet alt-pop song, Lena’s vocals yearning beneath a dubby shuffle, while Keeper Of The Void’s possessed incantations open up to a ripping, fried climax. Beryl Grey releases the pressure gauge, a gently lilting drift arpeggiating as the sun sets, and Lost Cars sweats through claustrophobic drones and bird song before the clouds part on a serene scene. Leaving Memory closes with Shin, offering a genuinely sweet resolution and a gentle landing back down to earth of either footsteps or fireworks, swelling synthesized horns and woodwinds, a kiss on the cheek for making it out the other side.

On Leaving Memory, Piper Spray & Lena Tsibizova share their uniquely discordant take on freaky music for unsettled minds, an intensely energized set that offers a deeply evocative, unimaginable otherworld for adventurous ears.

Piper Spray and Lena Tsibizova have been producing music together since 2020. Leaving Memory is the first to be presented in the LP format. Piper has previously released music via Orange Milk, Hausu Mountain and Gost Zvuk, as well as his own Singapore Sling Tapes label. Lena works predominantly as a photographer, and together Piper and Lena have released music via radio.syg.ma and Kartaskvazhin. Both make music as part of Air Krew, who have released music on the Echotourist and Motion Ward labels. They’re both currently based nowhere.

"Für "Earth Rocker", den Nachfolger des 2009er Werks "Strange Cousins From The West", mussten knapp vier Jahre ins Land ziehen. Ob sich die Wartezeit gelohnt hat? Wer CLUTCH kennt, der weiß: Ja! Das neue Album strotzt nur so vor Energie, beinhaltet aber auch die klassischen ruhigeren Songs, bei denen Sänger Neil Fallon natürlich mit seinen interessanten und gut durchdachten Texten voller Poesie überzeugen kann.

Doch bevor es an ruhigere Nummern geht, die auf dem Album in der Minderheit sind, geht es mit dem Titeltrack "Earth Rocker" erst mal gnadenlos rockig ab. Die schnelle Nummer ist schon mal ein guter Einstand, und Neil's "Muhahahas" in dem Song lassen einem ein breites Grinsen ins Gesicht treiben. Ein weiteres Highlight und garantierte Live-Granate ist den Mannen mit "Crucial Velocity" gelungen. Wer schon "Mob Goes Wild" oder "Electric Worry" mochte, wird diesen Song vergöttern. Tim Sult lässt seine Klampfe gnadenlos im Stoner-Dickicht die Rock-Welt regieren. Hammer!

"Mr. Freedom" groovt ganz gewaltig, Obacht: auch hier unbedingt auf die Textpassagen achten. Bei "D.C. Sound Attack" wird die bewährte Mundharmonika aus der Tasche gezogen und im Sinne von ZZ TOP abgerockt. Weiter über "Unto The Breach", "The Face" (MOTORJESUS lassen grüßen), "Cyborg Bette" oder "Book, Saddle & Go", CLUTCH zeigen sich abgezockt und saucool, wie eh und je. Warum cool? Weil diese Band einfach das macht, was ihnen gefällt, sei es Mucke, Attitüde oder Acting. Wer es mal bluesig mag, dem ist "Gone Cold" ans Herz zu legen. Relaxte Nummer, genau richtig zum chillen mit nem Glas Whisky.

Veredelt wurde "Earth Rocker" durch die Hand von Machine, der schon auf "Blast Tyrant" oder "Pure Rock Fury" für CLUTCH tätig war. Der räudige Sound, wie man ihn von der Gruppe gewohnt ist, wurde beibehalten und noch einmal auf eine höhere Stufe gewuchtet. Da bleiben keine Wünsche offen.

"Earth Rocker" reiht sich nahtlos in die Gassenhauer-Alben der Band hinein. "Blast Tyrant" oder "From Beale Street To Oblivion" gehören zwar noch immer zu den absoluten Highlights, "Earth Rocker" übernimmt ab jetzt jedoch den Vorsitz." (9von10/metal.de)

Kenny Larkin should need no introduction to those whose ears are trained in the ways of the motor city and her musical sons and daughters. He is one of a handful of artists from the city whose original and unique sonic output has helped shape and advance techno as an art form and as a serious musical movement across the world and it's galaxies beyond, a formidable DJ and producer whose music continues to push the envelope today. 'Azimuth' gives us what would be Larkin's first full length offering, and across 11 tracks of blistering hi-tech machine funk, ambient, soul drenched rhythms and futurist club music he deftly crafted a classic. This is the album you hold in your hands now, here in 2021. Originally released on Warp Records, 'Azimuth' is back here in it's expanded form of a 2 x LP and bonus 10" reissue. A record that effortlessly sounds like it came to earth yesterday while being 25 years old, a true Detroit classic that still makes waves across the planet today. File under - 'Essential'.

In certain circles, this is a record that would easily be called „eternal“. Back in 1996, when it was originally released, it sounded like nothing else - and still does. The sixth record of Frankfurt’s soon to be imperial Playhouse label and Losoul’s first outing on the label, it hot-wired many things at once: house and techno, US roots and European fruits, grittiness and wittiness, high tech funk, the expansion pf playtimes and the concept of minimalism in dance music. Elegance met effectiveness.
A composition that hooked you and also caused a stir elsewhere. Daniel Bell licensed it to his Elevate label and commissioned a very young Theo Parrish to remix it, Michel De Hey did the same with his EC Records and treatments by Gerd among others.
Here you finally get both of those carefully restored, remastered and reissued next to the originals. Amply placed on a double 12“, it also features the previously unreleased D1. Stemming from the same time and era as Open Door it rings and feels like a compact lost brother. Addictive as on the very first day and here to stay.

Philippe Petit celebrates 10 years of his label Knotweed Records, delivering a 3-tracker infused with house and techno influences

Krishna Goineau is well known for his starring role in ‘Los Niños del Parque’ with Liaisons Dangereuses and in other projects such as Velodrome and Xeroox. Through one of his friends we have been lucky enough to receive a hard disk on which there are a variety of unreleased tracks by Krishna Goineau with MCL (Micro Cheap League) recorded in the year 85-86. Krishna lived in Barcelona at that time and was involved in different groups while traveling through Germany and Belgium to create new projects. After dissolving Liaisons Dangereuses in 1983 Krishna started a new project with MCL where you can identify the essence and influences that he had at that time, touches of EBM and metal synthesizers with vocals in Spanish as in the track ” No Information ” These tracks are preserved in excellent quality in which Alden Tyrell has done the mastering on vinyl and digital. Having something like this is like finding a treasure in the middle of a secret island. To finalize the release we have edits from Silent Servant, Curses, Esprit Divers aka Coyu. Deckard & Lucient.

Pig&Dan on Break New Soil? Sounds like a no-brainer! We're pumped to have the boys on the label with their debut release „Aptitude"! Igor and Dan and I have been friends for a long time, sharing stages all over the world for decades and have actually released a collaboration EP and a full album on Adam Beyer's Truesoul records earlier this year. On „Aptitude“ you'll find three full-on techno jams, showcasing P&D's signature sound - combining their vast knowledge and admiration of classic Techno, yet looking firmly to the future with another modern sounding production. We are excited to come back with the twenty eighth release in the label catalog and this time it is the second Ten Walls album called “Lights For The Dreams”. Album contains nine original compositions, each of them has its own character and a story to tell. And they are mixed into one evolving journey. A lithuanian electronic music composer and live performer Marijus Adomaitis world-wide known as Ten Walls has always been delivering a highly sophisticated sound and this time is none other. Even better - the variety of soundscapes throughout the album brings emotions of fulfillment and leaves one somewhere out of this reality. It is definitely the highest point of creativity where every single detail matters as well as the whole picture, from outmastered usage of today's technologies to the artful and conceptual point of view. While using less, the author somehow manages to reach the most of it and in his own way.
“Lights For The Dreams” is full of different textures and colors, yet keeping a similar tempo in most of the tracks, giving a few chills in the middle of the album with “Loot” and closing it with “SSV Normandy”. Most of the compositions keep the spirit lifted up in uptempo moods with tight rhythms like “Halo”, groovy arpeggios from “Daily Rehearsal” and touching atmospheres in “Jorge”. As mentioned before every composition is exceptional with its own freedom of mindset. The title track “Dreams” brings recovered electro vibes, precisely constructed structure and spills symphonic greatness above the minimalistic groove. The introductory “Neighbourhood” is all about what feelings sound like, a mixture of electro-acoustic soundscape grabs attention from the very start of the vinyl. The following “Teacher” continues a similar soundscape but in a totally different manner and genre. While dark and dashing “Dungeons” fills the gap of dubby Techno with a well crafted wide spectrum of moods.
“Lights For The Dreams” was mostly inspired by a video game “Moonray” that Marijus was creating a soundtrack for. “The music in this album represents a very creative period of my life where I just couldn’t stop recording new music. One of the big inspirations was a video game called “Moonray” that used part of this album in its soundtrack. It’s a very exciting period of my life.” - says Ten Walls. Album contains nine compositions while the soundtrack for the video game contains 30 original pieces with 10 minutes introductions for each one. “Moonray” is a surreal 3rd-person action RPG set in a fantastical sci-fi world. The early release of the video game is going out in the mid of summer 2020.
The full-length album is divided into two parts and pressed into vinyl. Though it is mixed into a continuous play, the vinyls have fine marks at the start of every composition so that one could drop the needle exactly at the start of any track.

Amelie Lens' EXHALE imprint launches with a myriad of uncompromising techno tracks from the underground's finest established and aspiring artists.

EXHALE's much anticipated first release continues the legacy of the EXHALE event series with a fifteen original track compilation featuring old and new friends from each avenue of the underground. With a shared love of rave culture, the label is a platform for the forward-thinking while simultaneously paying homage to foundations of techno. With this in mind, Amelie gathers familiar faces and upcoming artists to deliver the future sounds of techno.

Opening the second EXH001 vinyl is Berlin based producer Klangkuenstler with 'Engelsblut', an oscillation of stabbing keys, sinister drones and unrelenting hi-hats before transitioning into 'Take Two' from REMY-X, whom Amelie discovered after his stand-out EP on Coincidence Records last year. DJ/Producer at the forefront of French techno Antigone proceeds with 'U Tell Me', along with Brecc who incorporates industrial elements and thundering bass with track 'Vox', continuing with Antwerp producer Lukas Firtzer's 'Excessus', packed with shifting percussions and tenacious melodies.

PIV032 comes straight from the studio production of experienced native Dutchmen Dennis Quin, who keeps the classic feeling on point with the original track Chanté - "A tribute to Eau de Chanté".

Second track Recurrent Thoughts adds another edgy vibe on the cut. Distinguished British producer Silverlining and Berlin based duo The Willers Brothers give their crafty take on the remixes.

There's no room to argue, Joseph Capriati has enjoyed his finest year to date and his escalation as one the principle profiles in techno knows no boundaries.
The Napoli-born firebrand has just completed a stunning season in Ibiza as a resident of Marco Carola's Music On at Amnesia. Anyone who caught him play the main room this season will agree - his special ability to combine an infectious stage presence, with razor sharp DJ skills draws techno fans to dancefloor like bees to a honey pot. No wonder island legend Carola's handpicked him to perform on 8 separate occasions, more than any other artist this season.
Combine this momentum with an outstanding 2013 that already saw him headline his first coast-to-coast tour of the US, play a historic 12 hour set at the Metropolis in Napoli, plus headline every major techno festival on the planet, the time couldn't be better for Capriati to unleash 'Self Portrait', his sophomore LP.
Already ingrained in the consciousness of techno lovers this year thanks to 'Fratello' and 'Awake' the pair of searing dancefloor slayers that were released in June as the album's first singles, 'Self Portrait' goes deeper than the club stormers the Italian is famed for. Over 11 future-facing tracks, Capriati displays his deft production skill to supersede his reputation for bodyslamming dancefloors.

'Self Portrait', the typically reflective album title track is an understated ambient gem led by warm trickles of melody.

He further reinforces his ability to create addictive club rollers with the quirky, squiggly groover 'Easy Come Easy Go', the kind of genius fare that gets his diehard fans raising Italian flags inscribed with 'JOSEPH CAPRIATI KING OF TECHNO' regularly at this gig. "LesAlpx" ist der nächste Schritt in einer Karriere, die Shepherd im Laufe der Jahre als einen der überraschendsten, innovativsten und kompromisslosesten Künstler der elektronischen Musik etabliert hat. Der unbestreitbare Groove des Tracks erinnert an Breakout-Tracks wie "Nuits Sonores", die die Tanzflächen auf der ganzen Welt eroberten und gleichzeitig mit der anspruchsvollen Handwerkskunst und Produktionstiefe voranschritten, die Floating Points weit über die Clubbing-Community hinaus Anerkennung verschafft hat.

‘Museum / Flow State’ is a collaboration between British nouveau junglist Tim Reaper and Antipodean producer Kloke; this union within the thrilling new generation of jungle artists culminates in a set of disparate yet compelling spheres of sound. These productions are a side consequence of back-and-forth sessions between the two for the acclaimed Meeting Of The Minds series housed on Tim Reaper's label, Future Retro London. The artists were spurred on by the myths and legends of 1990s London’s most celebrated epicentres from across the DnB continuum.

“Flow State” takes inspiration from Speed, Fabio and LTJ Bukem’s seminal club night in London’s West End, where the mid-’90s jungle blueprint iterated into soulful, jazzy liquid. As its name suggests, “Flow State” is beautifully rolling and detail oriented, layered and warmly spacious, as it generously serves desires that are both cerebral and bodily.

“Museum” is pure kinetic energy, from its suspenseful looped intro through its jagged edges. The track takes its cues from the iconoclastic Sunday night Metalheadz residency in London’s Hoxton, where the leading edge of drum & bass was carved out under the guidance of Goldie and Grooverider in close, sweaty proximity. “Museum” shapeshifts swiftly through soft-hard dynamics, pairing explosive drum programming and intricate sound design with seductive melodic breaks that hit you in the core, transporting the listener into the pitch of its deep junglist heritage.

Belgian techno OG Fabrice Lig returns to Systematic with one of his most personal and moving EPs to date: ‘Black Monday’ His most substantial release on Marc Romboy’s label since his ‘Purple Raw’ series a few years back, each track is written as a special tribute to four people who’ve had a massively positive impact on Fabrice’s life, but have sadly since passed on. Expressing himself in the most honest, articulate way he can, this one runs deeper than deep.

‘Jim The Magnificent Fox’ is a dark, strident tribute to FlashForward resident Christophe Adam. A doctor in criminology and psychology, an exceptional DJ and a dear friend to Fabrice, you can feel the emotion on every jagged edge.

‘Mr Wa’ follows. Striking poses at every possible opportunity, this dedication to an old school friend in his hometown Charleroi. Bright, breezy and laced with movement and variation, it’s a celebration of the positive energy and time Wa always gave to people.

‘Marc’s Tribal Dance’ follows. A hip-shifting, butt-wriggling funk techno workout, this commemorates Marc Morgan. A gifted French singer, and also Fabrice’s good friend and publisher, he’s another soul who has left us too soon.

Finally ‘Pivert The Playmobil’. Another firm ally and creative genius from Fabrice’s hometown, Pivert passed away a few years ago but his impact on Lig has never faded. Light, jazzy and sprinkled with acid, it’s a fittingly reflective finale for a touching, thoughtful EP. Four stunning tracks, four beautiful tributes, four great men remembered, one powerful reminder to tell our friends how much we appreciate them…

Break New Soil loves Italy! Ilario Alicante, Daniele Papini, Romano Alfieri, Marco Effe and Luca Bear amongst others - the roster of Italian artists releasing on our imprint over the past decade is immense. Now, we´re very happy to present a very promising new face: Welcome Jacopo Susini! When I heard the demo Jacopo sent in, the decision to release the music was only a matter of minutes. Jacopo presents that exact raw and hypnotic style of Techno we love so much. Choosing a remixer was an easy task - Patrick Siech, a member of our little label family for many years, was the obvious choice - and unsurprisingly he delivered the goods as always! Returning not one, but two amazing remixes by our Swedish friend completes the package. Enjoy!

It's a homage to this dancing rhythm, the short strikes and drums that give soul to even the darkest ambiance. Percussion is a multi-release album, and will eventually provide a complete experience. Offering a multitude of unified tracks which all share a synergy with one another. A synergy that will invite for others to play and create one's own within the universe called Percussion.

A singular presence in 21st Century pop, Róisín Murphy is a genuine maverick. Her seminal 2007 album Overpowered received widespread acclaim from music critics yet, arriving at a time of waning major label interest in vinyl, it was released only as a hyper-limited double LP. Accordingly, in the decade since, it has been obscenely difficult to find. It is a true honour to finally reissue this thoroughly modern dance-pop classic on Be With. Whilst remaining true to the loud pink and orange wax of the original release, this remastered edition enjoys the bonus inclusion of fan-favourite "Parallel Lives", finally making an appearance on vinyl.

A sumptuous, all-killer electro-disco gem, every song could've been a smash. With its heavy disco influence - deep beats, lush synths and subtle horns and strings - Overpowered was focused solely on the dancefloor. Inspired by the Eighties proto-house of D Train, Mantronix and Gwen Guthrie, but also recalling the intelligent pop of Yazoo and early Eurythmics, Overpowered presented sensual electronic soul for the heads and the hips.

Her collaborators, including Timbaland mentor Jimmy Douglass, Bugz In The Attic and Richard X, constructed a gleaming shrine to the spirit of Bobby O and Giorgio Moroder by stitching together crisp synthesised beats with the slicker tics of early house. The lead single and title track lifted the bassline squelch from the dawn of cosmic disco -- La Bionda's "I Wanna Be Your Lover" -- and the follow-up, "Let Me Know", effortlessly incorporated the chorus of Tracy Weber's 1981 boogie bomb "Sure Shot".

The wonderfully dank, sticky R&B of "Primitive" is Murphy's favourite track from the album: "I mean, who gets to put primordial soup in the first line of a song That idea of not always being in control of the primitive parts of yourself, the bits that fall in love or the bits that dance or lose the plot or drink too much, and putting that across that's pop for me. It's playing with all the different colours of the rainbow of life."

Murphy's blistering vocals are versatile enough to elevate the icy textures of "Dear Miami", the sexed up kaleidoscopic funk of "Footprints" and the grace of "You Know Me Better". Sharp, witty and heartbreaking, here Murphy laid claim to being the kind of strident disco singer "Dusty Springfield never quite had the abandon to become", as Pitchfork noted in their original, glowing "8.0" review.

Overpowered was considered an instant classic and, sounding deeply prescient, it has aged gloriously. There has long been an acknowledgement of Murphy's influence on other artists' gonzo fashion, and many musicians have spent the last decade crafting dancefloor tracks that embrace piano house and disco, even if they'd pale when held next to "Let Me Know". Shifting from the glam pop of "Movie Star" to the buzzing acid of "Cry Baby", when the dubby ballad for her dad, "Scarlet Ribbons", wends its way to the sweetest of endings, you realise you've been immersed in the best grown-up dance-pop album since Madonna's Ray of Light.
