Yore returns after with the first appearance on the label by the Edinburgh-based outfit 2DeepSoul, which counts Brad Peterson and Rai Scott as its members. The two bring a wealth of experience to the project: Peterson's been DJing since the early '90s and since 1997 has appeared on labels such as MacIntosh Music, Moods and Grooves, and his own innershift imprint. His influences include deep house, Detroit techno, and '90s UK electronic music, and his affection for '60s-'70s jazz comes through in Mood Sync's earthier moments, with congas audible in a couple of tracks and a greasy organ solo surfacing in another. Like Peterson, Scott established herself as a DJ before issuing her first release (under the Serendipity name) on Berlin's Mixomat Recordings in 2008 and following it up with outings on Inner Shift Music and Minuendo Recordings. She also shares with Peterson a love for Detroit techno as well as early Chicago and UK house. The opening cut 'Intrinsic' spotlights everything that makes 2DeepSoul's sound so appealing-a breezily swinging house groove, synth treatments that lend the music a dreamily atmospheric quality, a bass pulse lightly tinged with acid flavour, and a main synth melody that warbles like some lazer beamed in from some distant galaxy. Best of all, the cut draws together elements from a number of genres but does so in a way that feels seamless. A little more straightforward by comparison are 'Flow Theory,' which derives its impetus from a chugging house groove and the aforementioned organ solo, and 'Power,' which brings the duo's dreamier side to the forefront in the tune's enveloping production and warm deep house vibe. That they are relatively straightforward doesn't makes them both dj-friendly and equally satisfying on listening grounds.

Part II of the remix 7 series" of Andy Vaz " Straight Vacationing "LP on Yore. Album Tracks getting a re-work on this little beauty are: "Detroit in me " remixed by Patrice Scott & "Stubnitz" remixed by Memory Foundation. Up first, Patrice Scott strips the "Got a little bit o' Detroit in me" vocal away from the "Detroit in Me" original in order to dazzle the listener with endless flurries of melodic and rhythmic cross-currents. Making good on the Detroit connection, Scott amplifies the tune's Motor City vibe with lavish helpings of synthesizers, claps, and hi-hats and amps up its hard-swinging acid-funk groove in the process. Memory Foundation's B-side version of "Stubnitz" locks solidly into a tight mechano-house pulse at the outset, which frees up all kinds of room for tenor sax player Andreas Pasternack to unleash his high-spirited wail. The treatments sound so good, one can't resist pulling out the original double album to sample its deep house sound all over again.A collectors Item, coming as transparent blue limited 7 for those who show appreciation for both the deep and having it on wax.

London based House label Inermu brings the third in their Vinyl Only series in the form of this 3 track EP from Dudley Strangeways.

The second 12" on CC comes, once again, from Hamilton Scalpel. Four tracks of Max Anti-Power Energy, with the last probably being the closest the label will ever come to releasing would could very loosely be described as a "summer anthem". Shouts to our Wes.

Sardinian “Claudio PRC” is a well renowned name in the scene, known for the peculiar, meditative and introspective sound he’s delivered over the years. Claudio is no stranger to our label, kindly gifting us his beautiful track “Void” on the AWRY005 compilation early last year.
With his forthcoming release “Insel,” he shows us different sides of his sound, creating 3 tracks with varying moods, each dedicated to experiences during his time in the city of Berlin. The B side features a remix of “Ost” from label owner Wrong Assessment, marking his return to AWRY after his “Asa Nisi Masa” EP release."

Big Sound! In a large warehouse in Kingston Jamaica, a kid turns up with his laptop and a keyboard full of playable samples. The kid's twisted some funk era breakbeats into gigantic proportions and is trying out song structure ideas whilst listening back on the the huge sub bass system. There are a lot of people sitting around, everyone stops to listen, they never heard anything like this. It's raw, and powerful, and they like it!

Italian artist Future 16 is back with a new vision of abstract, out of
this world techno, and shares this lovely piece of wax with one of top techno producers from Poland - Larix, who delivers an intense percussive journey for our 18th chapter of Counter Pulse Series.

The ever in-form Endlec is here on remix duties with an explosive 136BPM remix of "The Counter", and our good old friend Sev Dah produces an intelligent techno groover of Larix's "Tart".

All beautifully mastered by Counter Pulse in-house engineer Mattias Fridell, this release has already passed the tests on some of the worlds best dance floors.

ER004 sees Enclave Records really hit its stride with a four-track EP from Gessture. Having been tipped off about this talented newcomer by a close friend of the label, we were massively impressed by the demos we received and knew instantly that we wanted to be the ones to release their debut EP.

Though each of the tracks carry significant weight on their own, the EP delivers even greater satisfaction when consumed as a whole, straight-up house stylings of the deepest variety, trick two-step swing and a fresh take on old-school bleep and bass all lovingly bump against each other, effortlessly unified by the spacey sonics destined to become Gessture's calling card.

If a rewarding sense of cohesion is the first thing that strikes you about the EP, the second is likely to be just how versatile these tracks are. As with all the best things, there's pleasure to be had in placing it in different contexts and that's certainly the case here. Pitched up or down, feathered into something muscular or slipped out of towards something more contemplative, this one's got you covered.

GLXY’s debut album Research & Development is the culmination of years of sonic enhancement and experimentation.
A fusion of electronic elements and soulful soundscapes, the album marks the next chapter in the GLXY story.
Distant, cascading arpeggios over heart-like pulsations set the tone in ruminating intro ‘Hypothesis’, which seamlessly flows into title track ‘Research & Development’. As elements slowly combine, the track builds into an energetic rolling beat that’s unlike anything previously heard from the duo before. ‘Conclusions’ follows, featuring a soulful piano hook and wistful vocals from Irish talisman Steo. Rasping strings and techy percussion come together in introspective ‘Falling’, the cold, distant voices creating a particularly eerie atmosphere.

A short, modulating arpeggio prelude makes way for lead single ‘She Sings For Me’ featuring Manchester’s DRS. Melancholic chords and a rolling jungle beat merge with his deeply pensive vocals to create a match made in GLXY. Showcasing their moodier liquid sound, ‘Changed Forever’ features a captivating vocal hook and brooding synth stabs. ‘LP Track’ flips the script – a cameo appearance from Friction reminiscent of his past Radio 1 days leads into a boppy garage beat full of funk.

Submotion Orchestra’s frontwoman Ruby Wood is the star of the show in ‘Abstraction’, her sentimental vocals soar over GLXY’s trademark undulating bassline and airy atmospherics. Citing inspiration from garage, electro and breakbeat, ‘Crescent’ is a nod to the duo’s influences - Burial-esque percussion over building pads and warm bass. Canadian Anastasia lends her vocal talents on ‘It’s Not Love’, an analogue bassline interweaving in between a rippling synth motif and her contemplative lyrics. 

The darkest undertaking on the album, ‘Fourth State’ showcases GLXY’s masterful technical ability in the studio. Their hallmark synth pads lead into a bouncing, modulating bassline that’s sure to light up a dancefloor. Playful breakbeat interlude ‘Rapture’ captures a moment from Shogun Audio’s epic 2017 Christmas party at Phonox, with the album concluding on ‘Anatomy’, a 6 minute journey from start to finish… watch out for that 2nd drop!

For our new release, our dreamteam for conceptual techno music have come up once again with two tracks perfectly incorporating their signature sound, which originated over eight years ago on their first release. Many landmark productions later on labels such as Music Man, Cocoon or our sisterlabel Break New Soil, we are happy to have them back - and boy, did they deliver! With Jungle making a come back Soul Intent thought it was important for the kids to not forget about rave and hardcore so "The Old Skool Is So Kool" was born. The second vinyl only release by Secret Keywords is a split record combining firstly two production versions by label head
Gianmarco Silvetti and Dahraxt. The second half or flip side is an original production from Giordanø alongside a remix from Conrad Van Orton.

Gianmarco's opening version of "Interstellar Cowboy" is made of stern stuff. Blistering claps, spaced out acid and an old school flare give this a unique feel.

Fellow Berliner, Dahraxt aka Mannella runs PicNic34 and its sublabel JTseries that has included contributions from Blawan, Sunil Sharpe for example.
Track two is his take on "Interstellar Cowboy" opting for a bubbling bassline with wild, looping samples, obscure textures but with a clear dance floor influence.

Giordanø is an Italian artist who has released music Illegal Alien, Affekt and Granulart.
His original track "Shimmer Mist" works a menacing gritty, analogue hook with a solid groove. Fairly stripped back and functional this is proper DJ weapon.

Conrad Van Orton rounds off the artists on this release. His remix of "Shimmer Mist" adds a more streamlined approach with a driving pulse. Additional deep chords add a classy melodic touch, but don't be fooled, this is a powerful masterpiece of sound architecture.

Forever ahead of the curve, Matthew Herbert dropped this 3 track EP on Classic all the way back in 1996 and every track featured sounds like it could easily have been released yesterday. Such is the genius of Herbert, always managing to be one step ahead of most other producers, whether it's producing slamming house like 'You got to be moving', rolling emotive electronics like 'Fat king fire' or subtle, shifting percussion confusing jams like 'Housewife' all of his tracks retain this fresh energy that can't be pigeon holed. 'Classic Herbert' is exactly that, a 3 tracker that defies genre, celebrates the eclecticism of it's producer and still manages to be slamming (& classic) in the process! Essential stuff! This EP has always been tough to track down, proving to be a very sought after gem in the vinyl digging world. A repress was definitely needed!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Julian is back on Eliptic for the 5th release of the label - Mind Blowing Thoughts EP - with four powerful tracks.

The first track of the release "Reflection" it's a dance floor monster, driven by a repetitive voice and buried into the darkness of an amazing bass line. The A side is completed with "Outer Limits", a truly wonderful track that drives you into the unknown: "Dream!"

"Thoughts Bistro" on B side keeps the line of the release, it's going deep in our mind with the repetitive voices and glitches while "Sativa" is like a late night trip that closes out this fantastic mini-adventure.

Reznik & Mikesh crack open a fine vintage bottle of conspiracy with the scorching truth bomb ‘The Moon
Landing Was A Hoax’. Following their remix of Telepopmusik last year, the freshly-formed duo of
Keinemusik affiliates deliver such an acid weapon Justin Strauss insisted they release it after it caused
total Panorama Bar meltdown for him.
In case you missed the inaugural edit, ‘The Moon Landing Was A Hoax’ takes off with pure 303 bounces
before sharp vocal cuts pepper the mix leading to a heaven-opening breakdown. Total euphoria; it’s so
powerful it totally misses the lunar landscape and spins us back around our own planet faster and faster
with every emphatic layer. Reznik & Mikesh’s ‘Area 51 Infinite Mix’ adds three more minutes of feels,
creating this immense drama that sits somewhere between Chemical Brothers and Two Lone
Swordsmen.
It’s backed by a giant leap of a remix by Justin Strauss himself. Teaming up with Throne of Blood’s Max
Pask, they take it up through the gears, ramping the rolling acid tension until the last two minutes pays
out the euphoria jolt we’re waiting for. File under rocket-fuel.
There are no small steps elsewhere on this trip either; ‘The Nostromo Swerve’ goes intergalactic with
such tense, epic acid techno thunder it could dodge entire black holes while ‘Kiss My Axe’ goes all-out
Stingray-style electro with its gravity-defying breakbeat swing and sweeping layers of melancholy
synths. Total celestial immersion: in space, no one can hear you scream, dream or even make up
hoaxes… Happy landings.
