The ever excellent MOTHER RECORDINGS serves up more club gold, this time from MARTIN WASLEWSKI. His CLOSER release features two tight tacks that prove he has a lush sense of house groove.
Waslewski is a German who grew up on hip hop and now having turned to house finds himself at home under the roof of labels such as Hommage, Monaberry and Heulsuse. All these playgrounds offer him a deserved platform where he never fails to come up with the goods, as is the case again here.

Up first here is CLOSER, six minutes of deep, feel good house music with romantic vocals and colourful chords. The beats are lazy and well swung and this one is perfect for summer parties and terraces this year. On the flip, COME TO ME is stripped back and more driving, with a tech edge to the beats. There is more great melody though, and some smeared synths that add a sense of scale and weight.

MONKEY SAFARI - Beach Martin ;-)
MAYA JANE COLES - Come To Me is my fav of the two, thanks!

In the phenomenon of the wave, nature, and technology combine with great effect. For Adrian Rodd both are important, he draws the bow from the synthetic sound wave to the natural surf wave. The producer and filmmaker from Lanzarote has created the visual aspect of his debut for Cochlea Music not only in the EP title Waves, the opener Equilibrium was created directly as film music. Surrounded by ambient and trippy synth sounds, the short film about the surfer Andy Criere shows a colourful journey from blue to red, a romantic poem "Man, Sea, Earth, Fire" - churned up and set in motion by urban basses and beats.

Unlike the main track, Night in Gran Via, he follows the DJ, still vibrating from the Techno-Floor, after working all night through the main city street. From there it goes to Verbena and Taboo 3AM on a jump to the Dubstep, Lo-Fi and Trap-Parties. Adrian Rodd's music flirts not only with party goers, but also with people who arrive home late, drawing on his experience as a resident DJ in Madrid's Stardust Club, as well as the sounds and everyday life in the surfing and fishing village directly by the sea.

Between warm waves, Waves mixes local history with a melodic evolution of ambient and urban dance music from Brian Eno to Burial, ending the title track with a film which pays homage to the volcanic landscape of the canary island.

With the likes of: Carl Craig, Radio Slave, John Digweed, Ilario Alicante, Ramon Tapia, Marcos in Dub, Paul Brcic, Kevin de Vries, Gabriel Ferreira, Rob Sperte among others.

Amotik returns for the 6th release on his imprint with 4 tracks, including an ambient opener.

Cult Berlin favourite Binh heads to the Far East's finest minimal label, Cabaret, for his next outing He has been releasing here since 2014 and in that time has only subtle evolved his style. But when it ain't broke, why fix it? This EP features four more tracks of timeless house and techno for the underground connoisseurs. It is squelchy acid that defines opener "Mandarine", while "Rolli Glitzer Kurz" is more dark and paranoid as it journeys through the cosmos. "Beeboo" closes out with clunky metallic hits and detuned piano chords that make for a fresh vision of future techno.

Italo Balearic Express...

TUCCILLO enriches us with 3 Tracks on our 8th GMUF release. Grande Tucciiiiii***

The second Raval Rave Breakers instalment continues with another strong five tracker. A Swiss knife where different sides of electro manage to coexist in blissful harmony. Some of them do so in a clean and classic way, like Dark Vektor's "Time Space Rhythm & Bass". A small 80s odyssey that fondly reminds of a certain quartet of well-known robots. Some others take a a more raw and contemporary approach, like Spoiled Drama (Nous, Fleisch), who plays the aches-and-pains card in a glorious way: "Drama's Welcome To The Synthesized Pain Society" goes straight to your cortex and it won't be easy to forget. Univac (Bunker, Moustache) sits in a more middle ground, bringing us "Collider": a powerful electro-techno track that will uplift any possible dancefloor. Larry McCormick, head honcho of the renowned label Monoton, signs as his usual alias Exzakt, but now gets accompanied by the mysterious BFX. Their track "Close" is a as perfect as it could be: a pure, raw, super intense breaker electro rhythm, a ratchety lead, a couple arps, a distorted vocal and a tremendous sub that, even at low volumes, it might be heard even from the Mariana's Trench. Closing the EP, Eel travels back to the more lo-fi side of the genre with "Sich Kreuzende Linien", an eerie and hypnotic track which surrenders to an absolute jackhammer of a rhythm section.

For the second release of ARARAT five other great artists have been invited to the holy mountain.

They bring a new form of warm and cozy melodies from the region of the holy mountain Ararat to the world: Oceanvs Orientalis, Goldcap, Dance Spirit & LUM and Baris K are creating a complete new way to experience orientalic originated sounds with their unique understanding to blend these tunes with energetic electronic elements.

MR098
ROBOSONIC and FERRECK DAWN team up again, right after their immortal #1 ‚In Arms‘ on Defected Records worked its way fully through clubs, radios and playlists worldwide.

For this transatlantic collaboration they invited BIG SHUG – from the legendary Gang Starr Foundation – to the studio. The true story being told over the emotive piano- driven groundwork constructed between Berlin and Amsterdam is a flashback to the early days of Disco, House and HipHop in New York City.

How BIG SHUG and one of his closest friends in the rap game Guru (R.I.P.) got inspired by dance music in some of the most iconic clubs of the times.
‚Let Live‘ is an authentic showpiece how memories and souls live on through music. MOTHER is proud of this definition of a golden era house anthem!

MR099

At Magnetized we appreciate vinyls. For that reason we are most excited to present to the World the our first vinyl release from The Benz Motorwagen. This three song groovy tech house EP comes from a person who's obsessed with analog synthesizers and tube preamps, so it will for sure make any undisclosed location party from Berlin to Brooklyn tremble and thus make your body move. The likes of De La Swing and Richie Hawtin have used tracks from The Benz Motorwagen and other Magnetized artists as the mean to achieve the tremble and the movement, so we're looking forward seeing you on the dancefloor. Follow us for exciting future releases!

In first mission everything went smoothly but now we start dealing with new mysterious life forms. Aliens, robots and new sounds are coming up in this new release. Already supported by artists like Raresh, Enzo Siragusa, Seb Zito, Archie Hamilton, Lomonte, Fabe, Cinthie and many others. Dubfluss and Rowlanz combined forces for this great release composing two tracks as solo artists and creating together the track named Intergalactic" which takes also the name of the release. Original tracks are a mix of pads, effects, power claps and mysterious voices from space, and the master remix of the original track Intergalactic' from the tuff man Subb-An' gives his unique style with a new solid bassline cut out for the dancefloor.

Inner Surface Music are proud to present their new release from ANFS.

'Blood Trophy' cracks and fizzles with bass frequencies modulating around hypnotic snake like numinous drum structures. Eerie atmospheres add to the tension of this deep and powerful opener to the EP.

'VPA' has a shamanic feel to the way the drums lift you and meander throughout the track. Dark and heavy in dynamics, with distortion and precision, the grainy textures add to the final sinister mindset of this trance like journey to a ritual unknown.

'VPA' (Honzo A.D.H.D Remix). Honzo deconstructs the original drums and rebuilds them with a hard-core feel of early electronica. Acid baselines and ethereal pads take this track to the other side, dark and menacing but remaining euphoric, a true representation of the Honzo sound.

'Zevra' closes the EP with dark, power electronics, a real insight into the kaleidoscope of sound that ANFS emerges himself in. Techno, noise, experimental and punk world's collide in harmony...

Anton Kubikov is back to his own imprint Pro-Tez with the dubbed out “Rhythm and Chords” EP. It consists of four ultra deep, compositions - dubby and at the same time dance oriented tracks that will be equally enjoyable on the couch or on the dance floor. It’s a vinyl only release on 180 gram piece of wax. Highly recommended for the fans of deep dub techno/house vibes.

Early support from Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Developer, Newa, Jeroen Search, Pfirter, James Ruskin, Michael Wolski, AWB, Svreca, Inland, Exium, Setaoc Mass, Yotam Avni, Thomas Hessler, Benjamin Mull, Hyndrangea, Juho Kusti, Nima Khak,

Form and Function presents the second outing in their FORM series. A series that focusses on the more deep and transcendent side of the techno spectrum. Movement I contains 3 original tracks and one remix starring freshman Atis and pretty well-known duo Cassegrain.

Movement I starts with 'Ismene', a slow but progressive and dubby techno piece that is filled with deep northern and tribal influences. The variety of different sounds fill up the eerie landscape, assisted by a range of subtle percussive elements.

Entheogen goes a notch faster in tempo without compromising on atmosphere. It's a tearjerker of a track that with an emphasizing sub-bass that flawlessly grows into a bleepy sonic adventure.

On the B-side, we get 2 pieces that are in stark contrast with the A-side. 'Samael' lifts off with a lot of pulsing energy, transferring into a deep sound that sets the mood for the complete track. The reverberating pads and percussion really drive the track forward thanks to some intelligent panning and programming.

As a final piece there's the Cassegrain remix of Samael. Unfalsified power techno that keeps hinting to the deep sounds of the original track, poured into a body of perfect harmonics and playing the mind with rhythmic repetition.

Digital Hardcore-artist Chrisoph De Babalon returns with a spectacular set of Breakbeats, Drum 'n Bass, nightmarish scapes, metallic patterns / serious basslines.

Giovanni Carozza to debut on Sam Paganini's JAM imprint with Spectrum EP

Michal Wolski joins Kynant with a diverse, four-track EP of hyper-detailed techno. ‘Back Entry’ and ‘Inferior Representation’ are peak time cuts with hypnotising touches. On ‘Bathyscaphe’ and ‘Wanderer’, Wolski explores more a melodic, atmospheric direction.

Legendary Detroit Techno collective, Scan 7's 'Burdens Down' release from 2017 was a true testament to their brilliant ability to merge the soulful house textures with the analogue mechanics. The addition of Maurice Jackson's outstanding vocal stylings topped off the original with a perfect human element. Following the global success of the original version, Elypsia Records has enlisted some of the scene's top tastemakers to deliver a remix package worthy of the original, featuring that same calculated combination of soul and steel.

Leaders of the Parisian underground, DJ Deep & Roman Poncet, provide the first remix which is all about building incredible tension. A tightly squeezed kick drum, short synth chops and cleverly placed vocal samples drive the groove. As the track grows, additional hats and synths arrive, leading up to a quick break before all the floor-rocking energy bursts free. Big!

Dutch Techno legend Orlando Voorn steps up next for his first of two remixes, this one leaning towards a very House-centric shuffle with warm, friendly key stabs and the full use of Maurice's vocals. A truly joyful work of dance music magic here, with a relentless rhythmic drive keeping the party happening at full force.

Underground Resistance's very own Mark Flash takes the remix responsibilities for the B1 with his gorgeous synth-saturated rework of the original. An energetic and stomping kick drum powers perfectly alongside future-facing melodies which shine brightly on top of the tune. This one is guaranteed to serve as an earworm for days after the party has ended.

Rounding out the EP is the 2nd remix from Orlando Voorn, this time peering into the underground with a stripped back jackin' track utilizing a looped key melody on top of carefully placed vocal samples and claps. Some unexpected synths appear at the second half of the tune, putting a bit of new-age funk into the party stomper.

Voynich returns for its 2nd release this time Sheffield's finest Tommy Vicari Jnr provides the bombs for dropping...

Stroboscopic Artefacts celebrate five years in business with a series of special anniversary releases, featuring selected artists from the SA story-so-far who have strongly shaped the label's identity. In 'Drowned By Sight', Rrose sets the tone for the record with a deep and twisting take on club techno. A thick, low-end groove rolls out at unhurried pace, and widescreen, hissing synths fill the high-end. The track's brilliance lies in its tense, narrative arrangement: a five-minute, detailed climb followed by euphoric release as the drums fade away. Perc's 'Tri-City' is a more direct assault on the dancefloor. The kicks pump like pistons, held together by weighty sub bass, cymbals and claps. The defining feature, though, is the haunting piano keys that emerge in the breakdown. Set against the harsh textures Perc is known for, the keys sound especially vivid and transcend the track beyond standard peak-time fare. Flip the record to find Pfirter's exceptional 'Atman'. This track comes from the more reserved end of Pfirter's discography, deriving its impact from titanic sound design rather than brute muscle. The concise range of elements interact both tonally and rhymically to create a masterful piece of music that's fit to move both body and mind. Irish duo Lakker provide the closing track, 'Pier'. In typical style, they re-imagine classic IDM influences into something totally unique, where mangled vocals sit amongst eerie atmospheres and drones. Skipping along way above traditional techno tempo, 'Pier' is the most experimental offering on this record, and represents a key part of the Stroboscopic sound. 'V - Five Years Of Artefacts - Chapter One' provides a well-rounded snapshot of what Lucy's label has explored since its conception.

For the second release on Snowflake Soundtracks we introduce the mysterious Lineal. All three tracks in his Static EP share the same hypnotic stride towards a distant universe of atmospheric soundscapes and unfolding synth patterns. A masterful composition that already sounds like a classic.

The Romanian label Lost Classic Records marks its debut with their first vinyl release, consisting of 4 tracks composed by: Laurent Ci, Lurre, Petit Batou and Petrutt.
The A-side starts with Laurent Ci’s Brobass, a dancefloor essential crafted with a housey, playful bass, and swingy, carefully arranged percussions. The synths triggered along the track are blending fluently with them.

The A-side continues with Lurre’s Deloc, Pe Loc, a tune for the early mornings, constructed with well chosen, reverberating drum hits and acoustic elements. Lurre’s atmospheric arrangement, with warm pads and vocals, define this track’s final savor.

The B-side begins with Petit Batou’s Surya, an elegant approach on the deep side of electronic music. Surya’s groove is well maintained throughout its whole length by everlasting floating pads and quirky, ludic synths.
The final track of this compilation, Petrutt’s 33 Solaire, composed with consistent groovy hats and acoustic percussions, presents a nostalgic sound buttoned up by its dreamy pads and nifty, constantly evolving synths.

Another limited edition PUSS release, each copy with a unique, real human kiss mark.

More than 1 year after their last 8bit outing the Italian duo Supernova returns to Gorge's and Nick Curly's imprint. This time with the help of Medusa providing her wonderful vocals on 'My Vision'.

* This is the seventh Surgeon album.

* "While exploring new production techniques using old and unlikely hardware, the results were so unusual that I really had the sense that these pieces of equipment didn't actually create these sounds, rather they were in fact some kind of elaborate reception device that allowed me to tune into transmissions from Distant Galaxies. The music I could hear was actually the received transmissions of Pop Hits from those Distant Galaxies that were being played on their radio stations.
I quickly recorded all that I could before losing the transmission.

* I consulted with Dr Andrew Read, the astrophysicist with whom I recorded Guitar Treatments in 1999. He has worked on the discovery of the most distant galaxies and astronomical objects in the Universe. Together we came up with a possible list of where these musical transmissions may have come from."

This 3-part compilation is a celebration of On The 5th Day - a project born out of love - honouring the music, moments and individuals that have helped to make it so special.

What follows is a journey through the spectrum of sound On The 5th Day so proudly represents and has become renowned for, the full compilation mirroring the vision for our events: to create unforgettable flow from beginning to end - a record for each part of the night.

Our love and gratitude goes to all those who have joined us along the way.

2018 has been a busy year so far for Ben Rau, after completing tours worldwide, including standout shows in Australia and South America, he has also found time to launch a new label META alongside his increasingly successful INKAL imprint.

After handing over the reins for the first Meta release to promote new talent and give them a platform to thrive in the form of Rhymos' Seizure EP', Ben brings the heat for the label's second offering with his Marauder' EP.A release that stays true to Ben's dancefloor roots, whilst also displaying a techier big room sound primed for larger dancefloors. The title track Marauder' is a technically impressive affair, full of rolling percussion and expert drum programming , tension builds throughout the track via an eerie swelling synth which finally culminate in an epic break that makes use of delayed vocals before the rolling tech-houser concludes with the a groove heavy finale that let's all the elements shine.

The second track from the EP, Phoenix', is another potent dancefloor weapon , led by a pumping acid line that is complimented by ever-evolving synth stab responses.
The main break of the B-side signals the introduction of a spoken word vocal that gives Phoenix' its name , Ben delivers another stand out track providing the hooky elements which are a strong trademark of Ben's sound.

Ben Rau continues to take charge of his own destiny, and with consistently strong releases dropping on his own labels , he continues to build his ever-burgeoning reputation. Grab your copy of 'Marauder' when it is released via META.
