Levitar Recordings is an Argentinian label based in Buenos Aires. We love funk, jazz and soul mixed with house music, and this second V.A. contains all. A journey through Nicolas Meyer jazzy keys, funk and analog Joss Moog groove, Soul with the classic sound of BsAs Deep, and the funk N soul fussion from Fabrizzio and Rubents track.

After Tale Of Us heard - Cherry Red , they asked for the stems with the idea they would craft a version for their sets - as luck would  have it, Recondite happened to pass by the studio at just the right time, and together they ended up "nishing a driving and vital  interpretation of Barnt's melodic masterpiece. Around the same time Jens-Uwe Beyer had been quietly reshaping the same track. Prolonging the already massive breakdown towards the end of the track, his remix has been a highlight of Barnt's DJ sets over the past few months.The "nal piece of the puzzle came when Crato proposed the possible cover art - a bold remix in itself, reworking the original cover.  The elements were in place, it became obvious this release had to see the light of day ... This newest installment of the ongoin series presents four very different Hardspace Mixes, each one of which allowing a different shade of Len Faki's musical guise to shine through. On Guidance a quick-paced bounce grooves on top of a three-note bassline, suspenseful strings and sensous vox giving the track an unsuspectedly burning itch. Equally smacking, yet both tribal and technoid is his rework of F.E.X's Never Give Up, which keeps breaking down in order for the slicing hats to come back in and do their magic. Tackling a current UK-Techno-favorite on the flip, Randomer & Cadans' Anchor has got a grimey grind to it, which here gets churned into an even more wicked version of a twisted trip down the rabbit hole. Closing the EP out on a bleeping note, Ribé's Outlines is a deep-spacious, echo-laden affair, oscillating in tune and zoning alongside skitting percussives. As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the Berlin organization Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

"Lost Italian Library Music Of The 1970s/80s"

DJ and label owner Lorenzo digs out more lost Italian soundtrack recordings from the 1970s and '80s.

The first volume of Musica Per L'Immagine (rough translation: Music For The Motion Picture) came out of left-field in 2017 and, appropriately, left a lot of music fans stunned. Stunned both because the music gathered across the 2 LPs was very fine (and obscure - even hardcore crate diggers had not heard the likes of the Flip Flop Group or The Space Craft's Men) and stunned due to the music sounding almost nothing like that which we consider to be "Italian soundtrack". No eerie Morricone-style electric guitars and harmonicas, no Rota-era baroque strings and folk melodies. Instead, what Musica Per L'Immagine gathered was a grab bag of recordings from the late-1970s and early-1980s that displayed a distinctly Italian tendency to create spacey funk, disco, jazz, easy listening and such. Library music with a soft Latin groove.

Lorenzo, founder of Fly By Night Music and a DJ, crate digger and Peckham record shop owner, found the LPs that provided the basis for Musica Per L'Immagine Volume I during his last trip to Buenos Aires. The resulting compilation received much praise from DJs and aficionados of soundtracks and library music - here was lush Italian jazz-funk possessing a unique, spacey character.

Demand was such Lorenzo set about looking for records for Volume II. This time Lorenzo didn't head to Argentina hoping for more lost gold. Instead, having tracked down the licensees of the original records when compiling Volume I he returned to his native Italy and renewed his contacts with the publishers he found the most pro-active to deal with. While this meant dealing with publishers in Milan and Rome - the capital has long been the epicentre of the Italian film industry while the northern city is where much TV and advertising is produced - Lorenzo also decided to go to Genoa. Here he found buried treasure that had been unavailable for decades.

With Volume II Fly By Night Music is releasing a double album far more than simply a reprise of what made Volume I work.

"Last time I drew largely from my own record collection - this time I've gone and dug from the archives that have been opened for me. Also, for Volume I I put the emphasis on the jazz-funk recordings because they were both so strong and so unknown. This time I've decided to ensure the compilation sounds very cinematic

A new entry to the catalog this time with the pumping beatz of our Japan made House Maestro Yusuke Yamamoto (Canary Recordings / Minuendo Recordings) for the front side thus proper deep chords and TechHouse feelings compositions for the harder hours of club night dancing suit best for "No Signal" and the vocal anthem driven "Need You Now".
On the Other side we found Nicolas Diez timeless "Amazonia", a soulful dance track encouraged with romantic vocals that soothe our inner being. Last but not least Martin Bellomo (MyHouse YourHouse / Thema / Momentz Records) and Diez Collaboration takes form in the minimal deep tune called "Algorhythm", straight up dub oriented beats with a minimal house timbres.

For the second time this year, Moon Harbour welcome back the talented Emanuel Satie for a striking solo EP.

The Berlin-based DJ and producer has built up a solid catalogue of house and tech cuts since 2011. Doing so on labels like Get Physical and DFTD, he has really found his own infectious style, and one that fits in perfectly with the always forward-facing Moon Harbour label. Across two tidy tracks here he again offers the sort of high impact tunes that DJs and dancers always respond to.
The playful 'One Love' is first and has meaty kick drums reverberating down low. Whirring machines and tribal vocal sounds bring a sense of fun, while the pitter patter of jangling bongos float up top between humid jungle sounds. It's a steamy, pumping track to kick start any set.

'The Culture' is brilliantly unhinged, with drunken synths skewed and stretched in all directions. Warm sub envelops things from below and the loopy, silky groove cannot fail to hook you in as the synths freak you out up top.

These are two masterfully fun and functional tunes to bring real character to the club.

* Jon Gurd's Birth Right EP is the first material from the Portsmouth based Techno producer in more than 2
years since his ventures on Octopus recordings, 8 Sided Dice and Quartz. The EP therefore indicates an
audible step change not just in the approach to production but also in the mindset and emotive feeling
behind each texture and layer. Having emerged unscathed from a traumatic family related drama Jon
communicates a tortuous and re-evaluated life message across all 3 tracks, and is dedicated to his brother
with a hidden meaning conveying, Tomorrow Is - Promised - To No One'.

* Dissecting the EP further the educated are blessed with field recordings, analogue rumbling and modular
synthesis exiting from almost 24 months of lab driven experimentation. No real process has been applied or
extant formulae followed and the EP's resounding success is that this now exudes what Jon feels' innately
rather than what the industry wants, therefore the journey, endless noise making and experimentation gives
a balanced and exciting offering. Jon comments seriously my process for producing this has been all over
the place, literally stumbling on shit, slipping over my own creative vomit, workflow went out the studio
window on day one'.

* Having spent two years asking himself why he makes music, I think on first listen of Birth Right EP we will all begin to empathise why. Remixes kindly provided by Messrs Dave Clarke and Ancestral Voices (new project from Liam Blackburn formerly Indigo / Akkord).

* A long time-friend and recording partner of Alan Fitzpatrick, as well as one third of Mister Woo with Dave from Reset Robot, Jon Gurd is best known for his work on the likes of Octopus Recordings, 8 Sided Dice and Quartz. Abundant with field recordings, analogue rumbling and modular synthesis, his latest signing to Derelicht is a result of almost 24 months of lab driven experimentation, and marks an auspicious return from a musical hiatus that stemmed from a personal tragedy. From the off, 'Tomorrow Is' is a driving piece of techno complete with sinister undertones and menacing atmospherics, meanwhile 'Promised' focuses on a low-slung groove as tantalising synths operate on top. The last original, 'To No One', then exhibits a deeper vibe with ebbing pads and spectral chords. Dave Clarke's decadent rendition of 'Promised' ups the tempo whilst demonstrating commanding kicks, until Ancestral Voices, the new project from Liam Blackburn (Indigo / Akkord), strips back the beats of 'To No One' for a subdued subterranean workout.

New York's Parka Records Returns With Korean-american Artist Lawrence Lee's 'biodome' Ep, Accompanied By A Remix From San Francisco's Vin Sol (clone Jack For Daze, Hnytrx, Nonplus)

An artist whose sound is so distinct it couldn't be replicated by anyone else, PRAYER's productions are unmistakable creations influenced by ambient to breaks and jungle to classical. Returning to his family label GRADE 10, Prayer will release 'GOODBYE,' a moving three track EP out on vinyl and digital November 2nd 2018. A cinematic, moody and stripped-back offering, 'GOODBYE' is reminiscent of Prayer's earlier work, and finds an ideal home on his collective GRADE 10 imprint.

Roel Funcken doesnt need an introduction. A long career, along with his brother, under the prism of multiple aliases as Quench, Funckarma, Legiac (...amongst others) are more than enough endorsement. His ambient textures maintain a cinematic quality throughout, while his percussive arrangements retain a constantly mutating framework, always reconstructing its rhythm and structure, contradicting complex configurations and minimal design. In 'Sapper Morton EP', his debut in AF, Roel explores bright territories close to the electro, full of edges and shades, painting evocative landscapes. If you add a remix from the acclaimed James Shinra you have a must release.

Pun Kuyen (Moon Night) is the second EP of the Nguillatun Records label. Auca immerses us in this album with a first track, Curico (Black water), with a techno from the depths of the water, dark hypnotism and pulsating loop. Puken (winter) is full of cold atmospheres and suspended drones that create tension. Lanahue (Lost soul) closes the album with a strong and intense original version, and a remix with low frequencies and beats that takes us almost to the mental disconnection, from the hand of Svreca, to take our breath away.

Basement Freaks serves up a classic funk instrumentation version of his own jam 'White Hot' which features the sizzling vocals of Ms. Kylie Auldist (The Bamboos, Cookin' On 3 Burners) over a jumping groove. He's taken it back to the old school and managed to achieve the seemingly impossible of improving on his already impeccable music.

Over on the flip he's taken the Smoove & Turrell frontman's sweet and soulful vocals of the track 'Won't Get Fooled Again' and revised it into a barnstorming electro funk joint. It's not the first time these two have come together musically and whenever they do its always-on-point.

We Decided To Compile A Soundtrack Ep From Them For Mika Vainio's Memorial In Oslo In September 2018.

The first LP release for connected comes from Nandu and as with his previous EP releases the LP is a unique genre crossing palette containing elements from Deep House,House,AfroHouse,Electronic Techno and beyond brought together in Nandus' original style. Truly an LP that begs to be listened to from start to finish. In Nandus' own words: 'One mans high can truly be, another mans anxiety. In some parts of life this is very clear like having a baby, do drugs, to work, not to work, be an artist, be a banker and so it continues. Yin & Yang and the whole idea of duality is another way to describe this. When you go left you say goodbye to right - at least for the moment you choose left. What you choose is up to you. It wasn't always my dream to get up at 3pm to change diapers, but it was always my dream to have a family. And here the sacrifice is not even mentionable. It's more than worth it. But when you sometimes in life make a choice that you regret but which always will follow you, or when uncontrollable powers force you into another direction, it can easily switch the poles between high and low. In these cases you just have to look forward, but not without looking back. You need to learn, take it with you, and do better next time. This album is about how my highs also can be my anxieties."
