Description: (199X) is a new record label from Reykjavík, Iceland but based in Copenhagen, Denmark focusing on releasing electronic music by Icelandic and international artists. Each release is pressed on high quality 180g vinyl limited to 500 copies, also available digitally. Each album cover has hand drawn artwork by M. Kristensen.

The first release on (199X) is from a musician born in Zürich, Switzerland who's name is Mateo Hurtado. For the last 2 years Hurtado has been posting tracks and live improvisations on Youtube and Soundcloud made with his modular and hardware gear as well playing all over Europe. This EP by Hurtado includes four tracks recorded live with heavy bass, dark-atmospheric repetitive sounds that make the perfect experimental ambient techno with minimal post processing.

OCAD is a label established in 2016 by Toke Klinke and Rebecca Broe that empahsizes high quality and originality in electronic music.

The never-ending underground speech has been made on more time by Weltschmerz, owner of the label Complatt, and this time Complatt's second vinyl record goes extremely high and represents the quality of Weltschmerz's vision. The early bird support came by a number of a top underground people of the scene, so the CTTV002 is considered to be quite successful.

Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, DJ Aakmael's profile has steadily risen over the last decade thanks to his supremely classy deep house sounds. Recent times have seen him release excellent material on the likes of Freerange Records, Axe On Wax, Church and Release Sustain, and now he makes his debut on Monologues Records with two deep cuts. 'Dahlin' is a string-laden stomper while 'Organik' is more of a synth-driven jam with some of his exquisite trademark keys improvisation. Leon Revol returns to the label after his well-received 'Embers' EP to rework 'Dahlin' in wonderfully introspective, hazy style, while label boss Ben Gomori steps up for a chunked-up, darkly-tinged rework of 'Organik'.

005 is the 'Remakes E.P.' from Spanish producer and rising star Kresy. Here we find Voltereta, a track that honours the grand techno Martian and That Thing, a track that reveals its influence proudly.

The E.P. is completed by Is and Tumaca Disco. Two tracks that best define the sound of an artist who has already shown his talents on labels including Freerange and More Music and led to him becoming one of the shining producers within the Hivern Discs team, captained by John Talabot or Marc Piñol.

Ben Rau serves up the third release on his own label Inkal in November featuring two new original tracks by the rising star.

Berlin born Ben Rau is building on the huge success of the first two Inkal releases with two original tracks of his glitched out groove laden signature house sound. Rau has been steadily building his own brand throughout 2017 on his label Inkal, with each release on multiple represses the label is fast becoming synonymous with the type of house music that works equally for the underground vinyl heads and on the big festival stages.

The A-side Ad Astra is a rolling peak time number that marries a ravey lead stab with his trademark swinging hats and glitched out
filter modulations over a thumping groove. The drop recalls 90's drum and bass influences and soothing pads take the track into deeper territory. The drums are loose and jostle for attention as the ducking and diving lead synth bring real movement up top. One for the more tasteful sets out there.

Up next is Do Your Thing built around a rolling percussive tech-house groove and rumbling sub bass line, Ben brings in 303 licks and a female vox that urges you to do your thing throughout the track. This roller makes a fine contrast to the swinging grooves of the A-side, dense atmosphere and deep chords compliment the other elements to form an infectious head nodding journey throughout the tracks 8 minute duration.

Once again Rau shows what an essential house producer he has become.

- Masse': Henrik Schwarz, Dettmann / Wiedemann sowie DIN. Unter diesem Namen hatten sich Efdemin (Phillip Sollmann) und Marcel Fengler zusammengetan. Wie ihre musikalischen - Masse'-Mitstreiter veröffentlichen DIN ein Jahr nach dem Tanz auf der Bühne nun zwei Stücke des Abends im Remix für die Clubs.

Now with over 20 years of releases behind him, Oliver Huntemann finds himself on the cusp of yet a new era in his career. 'Propaganda' is the fifth proper artist album from the Hamburg-based DJ/producer, and like each of its predecessors, it shows a different side to one of the most consistently rewarding names in techno. Released on his own Senso Sounds label, the album exudes the level of assurance that perhaps only comes with being so active in curating and developing a label that has stood out from the masses since its inception in 2014. 'Propaganda' opens with 'Taktik', and the mood is quickly established through crisp motorik drum programming and deep, pulsing bass lines. 'Poltergeist' - the 2nd cut, continues this aesthetic - a deep and spacious groover. Clocking in at over 1 hour 15 minutes, the album allows a lot of space for itself, each tracking having the time it needs to develop and unfold. 'Egoist' ramps up the feel somewhat with intricate melodies and effects, before breaking down into something that will destroy many dance floors. Yet the beauty of the album format is that it allows for various mood changes, and 'Malaria' brings us something of a shift into a more freaked out and edgy vibe, while 'Anonym' highlights Huntemann's mastery of atmosphere, serving as an ambient / downbeat interlude. 'Rotlicht' is perhaps a standout for fans of Huntemann's epic DJ sets, exhibiting all the control and release dynamic that make him such an engaging performer. It's also clearly a key cornerstone for the entire album Next up is 'Absurd', followed by 'Manipulation' - both reference the exquisite sound design Huntemann instils into his precision- built tracks, while remaining

repressed !

Fünf Jahre nach seinem letzten Album kehrt Luke Slater als Planetary Assault Systems und dem neuen Langspieler Arc Angel zurück zu Ostgut Ton.
Auch nach 22 Lichtjahren erforscht Luke Slaters Planetary Assault Systems Raum und Zeit mit unterschiedlichen musikalischen Mitteln. Dem Leitbild des Projekts treu bleibend ergänzt Slater: "Musik muss sich für mich vorwärts bewegen. Ich würde mich selbst betrügen, würde ich auf erprobte und bewährte Formeln zurückgreifen". Für die gibt es gute Gründe, aber dieses Album folgt seiner eigenen Agenda. Mit Arc Angel bricht Planetary Assault Systems zu neuen musikalischen Grenzen auf, fokussiert sich auf Melodien, bleibt aber gleichzeitig in den puristischen Werten von Techno verwurzelt, die Slater selbst im Laufe seiner dekaden- und generationenübergreifenden Karriere mit definiert hat.
Während der Albumtitel wie eine Referenz an spirituelle Dinge daherkommen mag, verweist er eher auf weltliche Dinge - Religiosität ist schließlich ein Relikt der Vergangenheit. Arc Angel ist in erster Linie ein postmodernes, nonkonformistisches
Technoalbum, das Clubkontexte ebenso bedient wie Zugänglichkeit mit neuen melodischen Mitteln. Langjährige Slater-Hörer werden mit Arc Angel schnell warm werden, wobei die LP gleichzeitig den Raum für neue Hörer aufmacht. In der
Tradition von Slaters vorangegangenen Ostgut Ton-Alben - The Messenger (2011) und Temporary Suspension (2009) - versprühen seine musikalischen Motive polymorphe und außerweltliche Klänge, verwenden eine zeitgemäße instrumentale
Sprache, legen aber eine stärkere Betonung auf zugängliche musikalische Formulierungen. Bei diesem Album ging es sehr um Limitierung und um den Schwerpunkt auf den Begriff alternativer Melodien , sagt Slater.
Ich liebe Musik, die zu Neuem führt. Alle Stücke dieses Albums mussten diesen Test bestehen. Gleichzeitig wollte ich das Fundament dessen, was ich als Techno ansehe, neu verwurzeln und mich auf Melodien konzentrieren, statt einen Track nur
einen Beat sein zu lassen. Ich verlagerte die Arbeit am Stück vom Beat zu den darüberliegenden Frequenzen, gab diesem Teil mehr Gewicht. Wie man einen großen, starken Beat baut, haben wir alle begriffen, meine ich. Ich möchte die Dinge aber gerne etwas voranbringen, nicht der Einfachheit halber abstrakter werden.
Obwohl Arc Angel als weißes Blatt begann, verlängert Slater seine sonischen Erkundungen, die man auf den jüngsten Mote-Evolver-veröffentlichten 12 es zu hören bekam - die No Exit EP (2013), Future Modular (2014) und The Eyes Themselves (2015). "Arc Angel" ist das folgende Album dieser Serie an Singles - Rückschritt und Fortschritt finden gleichzeitig statt. Während es Anspielungen auf die Vergangenheit gibt, zielt Arc Angel auf die Zukunft. Da wären wie abgefeuerte Lichtstrahlen flirrende Klänge ("Tri Fn Trp ), pulsierende Signale in den Tiefen des Weltraums ("Angel Of The East" , "Sonar Fall"s , "Groucho" ) und eher schroffe
Ästhetiken ("The Last Scene ). Die melodische Bandbreite beinhaltet hypnotische Arrangements ("Merry Go Round" , "Blue Monk" ), verzerrte Glocken ("Revolution One" ), regenbogenfarbener Noise und räumliche Effekte - großteils verwoben mit schweren Kickdrums ("Message From The Drone Sector" , "The Rider" ), manchmal reduzierten Beatmustern ("Max" ), zuweilen repetitive Loops, schmetternde Analog-Synthflächen und verfremdete Vocalfetzen nutzend ( "Interlude 1 bis 6").
Ungeachtet der musikalischen Vielfalt mussten alle Geräte auf einen kleinen Tisch passen. "Ich liebe Software, Hardware, Technologie, aber weil wir eine fast endlose Auswahl an klangerzeugenden Mitteln haben, trieb es mich nun dazu, mich auf jedem Stück mit begrenztem und limitierten Equipment auszudrücken. Tatsächlich war ein Einfluss die Art, wie ein Blues-Musiker ursprünglich eine alte Gitarre und eine Stompbox verwendet hätte, trotzdem aber sehr organische und beseelte Musik damit spielte. Der hat seine Gitarre, die Box und seine Stimme - Ich habe die 909 und 808, das waren seit jeher die wichtigsten Antriebe von Planetary Assault Systems". Das
Schreiben des Albums war entkoppelt von der späteren Produktion und dem Mixing in Slaters Studio @ Spacestation Ø, UK - was ein reduzierteres und flexibleres Setup zuließ und auch noch zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt Änderungen einzelner Teile ohne übergreifende Eingriffe möglich machte.

Während die zwanzig Albumstücke in gut 96 Minuten digital als Einzelstücke erhältlich sein werden, wird es Arc Angel auch als mixed 3-fach LP und Doppel-CD und auch als continuous Mix geben - was einerseits der intendierten Wahrnehmung
des Albums als auch Slaters Ethos als DJ Rechnung trägt: einen Ritt durch einen sich stetig wandelnden Moment nehmen.

Außerdem: Luke Slater debütiert Anfang August als The 7th Plain auf A-TON mit dem ersten Album der Chronicles-Serie, begleitet von einem 7th Plain-Set im Berghain'schen Elektroakustischen Salon. Kürzlich tat sich Slater mit David Sumner (aka Function) und Steve Bicknell als LSD zusammen - ihr gemeinsames DJ / Live-Hybrid-Set feierte soeben im Rahmen von Planetary Funk 22 Light Years Premiere im Berghain.

US production duo Alter Echo & E3 have linked up with Bristol's Ishan Sound to create an awe- inspiring warrior stance anthem. Ah Mi Guide features a hypnotic sample from Rider Shafique, over an unrelenting beat crafted by E3 and Ishan then mixed in dub by Alter Echo. The flipside remix comes via ascendant dubstep producer Egoless, who transforms the stark original into a slow burning fire, garnished with a flourishing flute refrain. Either side is guaranteed to shake up and mesmerise a dance!

The second release on Oktave Records is produced by Tokyo's Iori. The multi-talented Japanese producer and DJ has had his music released on some of the best labels in the business, including Prologue, Field Records, and Semantica. Iori's inimitable and distinctive sound has put his productions on turntables and headsets all over the world, while the man himself continues to extend his touring radius, hitting clubs and venues all over Europe and into the Americas. Oktave Records is proud to present his 'Circulate' EP.

The A side gives us 'Satellite,' a relentless floor-focused track, bursting with Iori's signature, looping sound he draws us into a hypnotic void and allows the listener to get completely lost in the polyrhythms so deftly layered on top of each other. 'Satellite' will mesmerize your dance floor.

The B side opens with 'Vortex,' which gives us more of that special Iori hypnosis, but this time we're carried along by a broken beat. Complex, understated and rhythmic, 'Vortex' is another stunner. The EP closes with 'Inversion,' an ambient track, which is an area of strength for Iori. He has long been producing compelling, cinematic soundscapes with his unique sound signature, and 'Inversion' continues in this tradition.

Iori has created a knock-out EP with 'Circulate,' and sets the bar quite high for the label.
