The freaks are out again. Questo! Music 006 comes on transparent vinyl and features three tracks by the freaky Questo! family. This time we show up from the flashy and melodic side, right perfect for the beginning of the open air season.

Schallbox-Head and Basel-based Steve Cole teams up one more time with Berlin-freak Ronald Christoph, who is known for several releases and collaborations. - Into Nothing brings the melody of now, obstructed with a little disco flavour. Will be definitely responsible for some eargasms.

‚Rookie' Dominik Daks brings the full sensual, but driven track - Plus Size , which is dipped in cosmic synth lines and navigates the freaky Questo! flagship to undiscovered worlds.
The B-side is reserved for an 11-minute-tracker by Frankfurt-based Matt Star. He juggles with synths and turns - Almond into a great tripping masterpiece.

One of the current techno scene's 'hidden treasures', Bristol based A Sagittariun has discretely released a wide breadth of music over the last five years for labels like Secretsundaze, Hypercolour and his own Elastic Dreams label. Two highly acclaimed albums in 'Dream Ritual' and 'Elasticity' as well as fifteen EPs have appealed to those who like their techno without frontiers, taking in blistering 140BPM techno, breakbeat IDM and ambient dub with ease. His second release for Hypercolour displays signs of crossover appeal at long last... Lead track 'Vanishing Point' has already been receiving early plays from the likes of Laurent Garnier (dropping it in his recent Timewarp Germany set), Spencer Parker and Len Faki. Big pumping beats and spiralling FX fall aside to a lone breakbeat that ushers in one pretty special breakdown section. The childlike keys and fathoms deep synth stabs (straight out of the John Carpenter school of fathoms deep synth stabs) have already drawn comparisons to the retro 80s vibes to be heard on the American sci-fi horror series Stranger Things. It's a breakdown that takes the listener to an uncharted dimension, bookended by slammin' beats that acts as a perfect mood changer in any set. Watch this one soar! 'The Pathway' keeps things on an all together straighter tip; an incessant tribal loop weaves and filters around a thunderous kick and shuffling hats, ebbing and flowing all the way in what might be A Sagittariun's most club-centric and stripped back production yet. Matrixxman (Dekmantel/Spectral Sound) is on hold to deliver a superb remix; pushing the original down a long dark tunnel for a growling and reverberating techno overhaul.

Cosmonection returns with his 3rd EP "10 Feet Before The Horizon", after the release of his maxis "Evasion" in 2014 and "Altura" in 2015. This new EP explores a more mature musical and sound approach of the Parisian producer since his last maxi while remaining in his rhythmic and aerial vein.

The start of 2018 sees Enclave Records chalk up its third release and to say we are excited about this one could well be the understatement of the entire year!

As anyone who's been following his progress will already know, Harrison BDP has really gone from strength to strength over the last 12 months. With a slew of Grade A releases on the likes of Artesian Sounds, Music is Love and Shall Not Fade, as well as countless gigs across Europe and beyond, Harrison is rapidly approaching that milestone in any producer's journey - the point at which a listener feels they know who the artist is without having heard the track before.

Harrison's opener wastes little time in firmly establishing the EP's groove-centric core and, much like the centre of a star - otherwise known as the Convection Zone' - this one's hotter than the sun. While rock-solid rims set the track up, the irrepressible bass hook and nagging hats provide just the right amount of swung jazz flavour to keep those ears tweaking. But don't get too comfortable - just wait for the additional layer of woozy percussion to come staggering in like it's gate-crashed someone else's track. This is one seriously solid cut.

While A2 may not have a title, it certainly isn't lacking in terms of identity and sense of purpose and demonstrates that Harrison's influences are deeper and broader than you might first expect. While the bottom end is imbued with a generous lick of acid, the submerged melodics manage to suggest a touch of classic Marizio-esque dub styling. Things take an unexpected but welcome turn when a gorgeous arepeggio emerges and lifts the sonic gaze to an altogether higher plane, before the programming strips back down again for that all-important heads down section.
Enclave Records is committed to showcasing emerging artists, irrespective of where they currently are on their flightpath, and in Garth James we're adamant we've unearthed a rough diamond.
Disturbingly youthful to be turning out tracks as authentic, yet as well-judged as these, our Antipodean maestro knocks it straight out of the park with the absolute animal that is Dear Lizzie'. While the underpinnings of the track undoubtedly bang hard, Garth's synth work lends the track an arresting fragility and mournfulness that rewards the attentive listener and it adds up to an intoxicating mix you'll want to keep coming back to. This one's been extensively road tested and the look on the floor's faces at the one minute mark (you know, that look) never ceases to make us grin.

Garth's closer should leave you in no doubt that we've barely scratched the surface with this guy. While weighty toms work away in harness with frazzled percussion, the star of the show is what can only be described as a knackered church organ - lending the track a solemn, almost hymnal quality that allows us to draw breath as the EP draws to a close. Though there's an undeniable air of melancholia, a feeling only heightened by the sounding of a single, folorn, guitar chord, there's an also a life-affirming quality that hints at the hope of what's yet to come.

A British spaceship has to do an emergency landing in Halle. Professor Quatermass and his colleagues are able to locate the two astronauts Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwartz who are in a state of complete shock. There is nothing left but empty spacesuits after their fellow astronauts. However, they find the residues of a jellylike substance in their suits, and at the lab they discover that the substance is Musik 3. When checking the security tapes recovered from the space ship, the conclusion is that an alien life form has snuck on board, which is responsible for the disappearance of the two crewmembers.

Crocodile lady 3,1 is living a happy life on the alligator farm, but life as she knows it comes to an end when the huge reptile is sold to the crooked businessman Zhao who wants to eat the 8-meter long animal. Quickly she escapes captivity, but while breaking out she happens to eat a women's handbag with a million dollar inside and so a wild hunt begins.

The Special Forces team was supposed to raid a dealer den in an apartment complex, but suddenly an unknown individual is firing shots at them through the door of another apartment. Insi fires back not knowing that the owner of an online dating site is sitting chained behind the door.

Right before the opening of the Zoo V13a the apes are infected by a mysterious zombie virus. They break out of their cages and attack the staff working in the compound. In the meantime giraffes, lions and others are infected as well. The hairy undead must by any means be kept from crossing the Zoo fences!

US-scientist Gausa is in Scotland to prove that the legendary Loch Ness Monster Nessie' does not exist. He has brought the newest technical equipment for this expedition, but amongst the locals there is little enthusiasm for his project.

The orphaned kid pwf FEL lives on the streets of London. Together with his friends he picks peoples pockets for the petty crook James Hook. During a raid pwf finds a magic orb that takes him, his friends and Hook to Nimmerland.

Provincial robot K5000 wants to present his self-built machine to the genius inventor Big Weld in Robot City, but the director of the company has disappeared. Instead the company has been taken over by the nasty Ratchet and his mother, and they are scrapping all the robots that can't afford a new update. K5000 has to find Big Weld and get him back to Robot City.

While Carla is enjoying an affair with the manager Jeckel, there are unpleasant surprises waiting for them in the upcoming risk analysis. The client is Mine*you, chairman the supervisory board on Strahl AG. He wants to insure himself against the female weaknesses of his Chairwoman Katharina Brandt, but the truth is that Mine*you uses Carla to spy on Katharina.

On one of her expeditions a wolf bites nature photographer Skorr. At the New York airport she turns into a werewolf and attacks other travellers. The military is able to brutally kill the beasts and come up with an absurd plan.

Henry fooled everyone, and his life seems perfect. Only 2daBeat knows the truth. When they are caught up by the past Henry turns to his family, friends and lovers to survive, but the biggest hurdles he needs to face alone.

Feliks and Mathias are heading up to a mine in Alaska with their truck. They have brought Musik 3 with them on the trip. What they don't know: an explosion has awoken a prehistoric monster underneath the ice. The three of them will have to kill the beast.

Ritter Butzke Club, based in the heart of Berlin-Kreuzberg, celebrates their 8th anniversary. What once started as an illegal rave, is now established on the regular club scene. After all these years, it still maintains the charm of an 'unfinished' living room. "8 Years Lost" is a sound document created by resident DJs and friends to represent the vibe of the place and to share it with their listeners.

This EP was even more popular than the previous four, as it contains 1 never released track, 2 tracks never before seen on vinyl, and all of the tracks are very rare and hard to get hold of. The Cru-l-t track 'Don't Be Afraid was made for a release on Moving Shadow which sadly never happened due to circumstances out of anyone's control. The Alk-e-d track was cut on a test press, but then the tracks changed and that was lost to time. And the final 2 tracks, The Nasenbluten remix of Luna-C and A Theif A Terrorist and a Lunatic were only available on obscure labels and in minimal numbers!

Thomas Hessler returns with his second full EP for IMF, with four tracks further establishing the on-the-rise German producer's talent for sleek, agile techno.
EP opener Push is the record's most intense cut, brimming with a powerful intent that's barely contained by the track's dramatic surging synths. It's followed by Rise, which matches its rhythmic urgency to an escalating melody that teases while it builds towards its cathartic 'house lights up' moment.
The record's B1 track, the aptly-titled Reflections, is the EP's most contemplative, with an unwavering pulse underpinning a subtle rising-and-falling melody that always threatens to burst into technicolour before dipping back into darkness. Finally, EP closer The Hope may be optimistically named yet is conversely the track most likely to incite dancefloor panic, with a drum rhythm that bucks like a rodeo bull, to which your best course of action is to hold on tight and enjoy the ride.

When looking for music to be released on Magazine, our guideline has always been energy. The key question remains the same: Does the artist have something important to say Does it have a sense of urgency Alex played us these tracks while visiting the Magazine studio in Cologne earlier this year and we were consumed by unadulterated rage. This is anything but a conceptual release, Alex has not released this kind of music before. A side of Alex manifests itself through these techno tracks, that most might not have known before. Brutal yet beautiful, furious yet fragile. A Berlin native who shaped his sense for techno by striving through his hometown and its infamous raves, Alex is now one of the prominent protagonists of that scene - not only when regularly playing at Berghain. The EP harnesses this experience perfectly, fully preserving the energy of the creation process by recording directly to tape. Most productions may have suffered from this primitive method of locking sound into position, but not these tracks from a techno master.

While carefully handling their respective careers, postponing then their obvious collaboration, Möd3rn trio's members have capitalized its desire and now deliver its mere substance, in the
rightest moment, where, simply, all the distant forces converge.

The six daring, expert hands merge now into a unique entity, unanimously moving within the same effort towards techno music. The formula is elaborated freely: each one's adjunctions -subtle keys, nervous chords, underground blows, rhythmical uproars- pour into a thick maelstrom, opaque, condensing Detroit's grieving sensibilities as well as last decade's bewildering cacophonies.
Chance intertwined their paths and now the three companions celebrate both the friendship that resulted and the good fortune that has driven it, by improvising live together as one faceless, solid body agitated by the urge of dance and music, composing the material that shall be processed later on to form their eponym label's releases.

This first album delivers us a raw & emotional techno. Through this long format, the 3 producers indulge more and expand the scope of their musical playground. One of our most mysterious and intriguing states of consciousness is the dream. We lose consciousness when we enter the deep waters of sleep, only to regain it as we emerge into a series of uncanny private realities. Through the fog of the mind we can get a glimpse of a world beyond our day to day realities that sometimes is able to show us deeper truths than those we face in awake states. Roger is one of those lucid pioneers that is able to translate these experiences into sound. Let him guide you through these wondrous clouds.

We're very happy to welcome Dutch-born German-raised Roger van Lunteren on SoHaSo for the first time. His Rosa Dos Ventos Ep is a four-track story that oozes retro vibes and nostalgia for a past that never seems to have existed. Utilizing raw 80's analog synths and humanoid acid lines he sets atmospheres that remind of Lynchian dreamscapes.

Vanish starts out with an emotional chord sequence, as you enter the fluid world of the subconscious. A gnarly bassline welcomes your arrival and lets you know things here aren't exactly what they seem. Journeying on through seemingly dark areas, it ends with a hopeful melody and the bass softens as you start feeling weightless. Uncontacted uses choral pads and two intertwining 303 sequences as a way of communicating between the different dimensions.

Aroy Dee remixing Vanish is like taking a psychotropic liquid, adding more drive to the original while retaining the emotive synth patterns. Sleepless is Roger's hardest cut on the record, again providing directly plugged in 303 goodness and stomping beats. It rounds off a balanced ep with plenty of introspective dance material.

fter 4 years in production, worldwide DJ sets, a BBC Radio 1 show and running his record labels, it's with huge pleasure that Elevate Records announce Friction's debut album 'Connections'.
The LP takes off with nods to past and present. 'Commotion' featuring Jem Cooke is an early indicator of a DJ/Producer with a solid understanding of sonics and songwriting. 'Ultrafunk' is a high octane dancefloor blast with Metrik jumping on board as co-pilot. 'Dancing' then provides the delectable soulful vocal of JP Cooper. The perfect balance of emotion and energy, it's destined to be taking flight across the airwaves this summer. 'Mad In The Jungle' ft Doktor has been busy treading tracks while 'Blue' struts through showcasing old school vibes aplenty. 'Fall Away' takes the pace down with floating vocals from Indiana and is a blissful layover from the journey so far.
We pick up the pace again with 'Running' featuring Raphaella. Hitting the tarmac at serious speed this one is a straight up floor filler highlighting Friction's ability to control the rave. A long time Junglist, his tale wouldn't be complete without the roots laced 'Forever Dub' - Kiko Bun smashing lyrical duties. 'Killing Me' harnesses Rothwell's vocals into a low-end hike which transfers seamlessly into 'Stinker' featuring Riko Dan & Tantrum Desire - already an underground powerhouse. With its crisp nostalgic pianos, 'All Nite' lands on the familiar ground and brings 'Connections' to a close.
With previous singles picking up extensive support from the key tastemakers of dance music, these chart- topping tracks were merely a snippet of Friction's journey. Traveling through radio airwaves to dance floors to festival arenas, you won't be able to escape the love and support from Friction and his debut album.

In this fourth vinyl episode, the Italian based producer also known as Sonntag Morgen and Methodical label head delivers three sophisticated gems designed for dancefloors, combining hypnotic bleeps, banging kicks and deeper textures. WLDERZ are back on skryptom for a new EP. This is a pure powerfull record of techno but deep and melodious in the same time. ALGO and BASED are killers for 2 different reason, the first is a pure techno dancefloor killer and the second federate the people with his nice melody. Berlin based Zehnin keeps up a fine release schedule by asking Blawan to remix its inaugural EP from Lucy. Once again focussing on experimental, ambient and techno sounds, it is another fascinating release. Blawan has been in his own sound world for years now. Releasing on the likes of Hessle Audio, Hinge Finger and his own Ternesc, he's made brutalist, heavily textured tracks, big room tools and dark grooves with freaky sound design. It's all helped to make him one of the most interesting producers of the day, and here he shows another side to his sound. First up is his version of 'The Hermit,' which is seven spacious and mysterious minutes of creeping pads and implicit rhythms. Dark but inviting, it's stripped back, hollowed out techno that manages to be hugely absorbing and menacing without any clearly defined drums. On the flip is the equally beguiling 'The High Priestess'. Deep, subliminal kicks set the tone as groaning riffs, train-track percussion and distant, tortured pads all slowly hypnotise. It builds in pressure and creeps you out as it locks you ever further in. This is evocative dead-of-night music that says a lot in impressively economical ways.

And what can we say KiNK s remix meets all expectations! His version turns the original into an epic acid monster that appears almost like a fusion of Joey Beltrams Energy Flash and Rolando's Knights of the Jaguar - the 2016 version of Accident In Paradise will take us on a journey through 20 years of techno and house-history. This is a big hit and it will bring madness to all the open air floors this season. Rune Reilly Kölsch aka KÖLSCH is probably one of the most hyped names in the current techno and house circus. Hailing from Christiania / Kopenhagen Kölsch released a bunch of highly rated club tracks lately and his remix for Sven Väth's Robot is no exception. Runes remix is not riding the retro-acid-train but turns out to be an epic club hit with an enormous festival potential, too. The Kölsch beats appear dry as a bone and sound highly energetic - they blend in perfectly with the strings- and and synth-section and create a monster full of drama and emotions. Although both remixes are way over 9 minutes they do not seem to be one second too long. We do not need to have clairvoyant abilities to predict that Sven Väth will have a deep impact on the upcoming party- and festival-summer with this release.
