The first full artist EP of 2018 is one by a new artist for Heist, but a familiar name for any modern day house aficionado: Adryiano. After taking 2016 off, he came back guns blazing in 2017, releasing 5 solo ep's in 1 year on labels like Shall not Fade and Baka Gaijin. His Me and you and her' ep for Heist showcases his contemporary view on classic house and acid, and is an experiment into how much distortion a track can actually handle when you've got a killer sample hook. Me and you and her' is about as classic as a house track can be and moves in similar fashion as his post-2013 hit 'On my side'. It's got a sweet and repetitive vocal loop, some semi-grainy but definitely groovy percussion and a deceptively simple piano hook. Add some filtering and you've got a lovely warm house song that can go on forever. The A2 Move it, move it' moves straight into old-school Chicago territory, with a raw AF acid bassline. Chicago bred Jamie 3:26, now residing in it's Dutch counterpart Rotterdam, gives the track a nice old school twist. He's going full 707 on the percussion and has casually added an amazing synth hook to give the remix a true vibe of it's own. The ep closes off with Fashion country girl": Adryiano's dystopian view of a world where Dolly Parton gets mangled through an overdrive, then gets distorted, crushed, mangled, deleted, re-added in 8 bit and then crushed some more. The result is an uptempo roller with more than enough grit, and just enough tongue-in-cheek to make everyone smile a little bit more. Yours Sincerely, Maarten & Lars.

As the wax flips, 'Baile' suggest the dancer a sensible meeting with the almighty groove. Martí gets this chance meeting, pulling out that 70s funky vibe and turning it into a floorfiller leaving his classy mark.

Lake People's Point EP outlines the idea of an album and manages to unfold a climax. While the opener 'Point in Time' delivers a playful, floating-hypnotic depth, 'tipping point' chills the dance floor with a relaxed groove. The B-side shows a much darker character than his previous releases. With unconventional sound-frameworks it oscillates between electronica, ambient and IDM. The ethereal melancholy that Lake People promised gets richer and is taken to another level. He created a liaison between the A and B side, which each stand for themselves, but are connected by their soft, rounded aesthetic appeal. In addition to the recently released remixes for Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Nico Stojan or Here is Why, the Point EP demonstrates the great diversity of styles pursued by Lake People.

Berlin based electronic mainstay Marquis Hawkes has announced details of his second LP 'The Marquis of Hawkes', due out 24th August 2018. Ahead of this, Hawkes will release a new single featuring acclaimed UK soul singer Jamie Lidell on the 20th July. The single, entitled 'We Should Be Free', features, alongside the low slung but melancholic original version, three reinterpretations of the song, remixed by Hawkes himself. Both this, and the essential previous single from June, 'Don't U', which featured the vocal talents of Ursula Rucker, will appear on the forthcoming album in an extended version.The album will be the producer's second LP for us, following his critically acclaimed debut 'Social Housing' for the label, which was released in 2016. Entitled 'The Marquis of Hawkes', the new album adheres to a specific sound palette whilst still displaying eclecticism across its eight tracks. Opening with the beat-less droning ambience of 'Beton Theme', the album takes in a variety of themes from across the house music spectrum, from the deep and dubby meditation of 'Instrument Of Thought' to the body jerking rhythms and retro bass stabs of 'Tough Love', the introspective mood of 'The Matrix', to the soulful New Jersey styled House grooves with a contemporary twist of 'Sunset', building through the optimistic joyousness of 'Hope In Our Hearts' before closing with Lidell's heartfelt and passionate emotional overload on 'We Should Be Free'. First emerging in 2012, after being sought out by Glasgow label Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, and having previously been heavily involved with the free festival sound-system culture, the London born artist's iconic sound has taken shape with the influence of music from cities like Chicago, Detroit and New York alongside the UK's underground house scene.
With both depth and clarity of vision, Marquis Hawkes' second album for Houndstooth expertly hones a shining hybrid of classic slamming house and grittily soulful optimism, making for a career-defining piece of work.

Steve Bug and Cle go way back. As friends, DJ colleagues, co-producers and label mates the pair have enjoyed a close bond for nearly twenty years. Their Rejected debut sees them stepping back into the studio once again to create a brand new brace of acid-tinged club cuts that whilst looking to past, are focused firmly on the future.


Both 'Together' and 'That's Right' are a celebration of the pair's musical partnership, with roots planted way back in the early nineties, when the ecstasy fuelled dance floor hysteria would be stoked by hypnotic, minimal arrangements that worked subtle variations of loops and FX for maximum roof-raising effect. Abrupt frequencies, massive breaks and big bass drops may be the fashion of today, but back in those heady, electric and exciting times it was the gentle growth and delicate expansion of a track that really brought the goose bumps.

Steve & Cle have sought to deliver these same sensations here with an excitement that steadily grows over the duration of the tracks through expert filter fiddling and unpredictable changes in structure.

If you're inclined, 'Alienation From Self' presents a stern collection of tracks that thrill and bite in their severe austerity. After Agoria and Oxia, Dino Lenny is now entering the Sapiens family. Founder of Frenetica and Fine Human Records, Dino Lenny starts young as a dj in a small radio in Cassino (Italy) and after a while he moves to London where soon he starts enjoying successful releases on labels like Ellum, Innervisions, Crosstown Rebels, Exploited, Yoshitoshi, Toolroom, Suara and many others. Dino also gaines notoriety remixing Underworld, Missy Elliot, Timbaland and collaborating with everyone from Scissor Sisters to WuTang Clan and Madonna. In 2015 Dino signes to Ellum 3 eps in a row 'It's Saturday", 'Living in a Song' & the anthem 'This Is a Love song". 2016 sees Dino remixing in partnership with Seth Troxler 'The Magic Room' out on Seth's label (Play It Say It) and contemporary on Innervisions 'A Certain Distance' with a great Rework from label boss Dixon himself. This year Correspondant will take part in this exciting journey with a track that Dino wrote with Fiberroot called 'Suddenly' meanwhile his label Fine Human Records continues building nicely with great support. The italian wizard just got remixed by Agoria & Maceo Plex and his original mixes of 'Shoot Me to the Sky/ This Time we take it Easy' will be out soon on Sapiens. Exciting electronic days for Lenny!

Opening track 'You Dubn't Know' got a heavy bassline, deep chords and hypnotic textures and sounds like it was tailor-made for those dark and late after hours in the club. A righteous lesson in bumpin' deep House...

On the flip, 'Delight', shows a different side. A piano driven house track with a great sense of melody that just keeps on keeping on - and that's a good thing.

Some more Mexican music on Quintessentials! This time from long time buddy 4004, another driving force in Mexico and already an established producer with releases on labels like Freerange, Faces, Vicario Ltd or Quintessentials. Mostly doing stuff on his own, Quintessentials 56 features a great collab track with Stuttgart's Stylus Heat. I'm not sure if we find 4004 reasons to like you Gerardo, but there are definitely two: you're a cool fella and we love your music - simple as that!

Dark Entries reissue the debut album from Carolyn Fok / CYRNAI, an Asian-American female solo artist from the Bay Area. Carolyn's adventures in sound began with recording stories on a tape recorder at age 9 in 1976. A short time later, exploring the scattering of musical instruments and effects units her father left lying around the family home. She became especially fascinated by his TEAC reel-to-reel recorder that set off a lifelong fascination with sound design. By the age of 16 Carolyn had become inspired by industrial electronic act Cabaret Voltaire, as well as anarcho-punks Crass. Creating the stage name CYRNAI, a rearranging alphabet of Carolyn Fok, she played in several Bay Area bands including Treason, A State Of Mind, Trial and Rhythm & Noise between 1983 and 1991.

In 1983 Carolyn met vegetarian peace punks who changed her course a bit, and which influenced the political aspect of her first release, 'Charred Blossoms.' Although 'Charred Blossoms' was referring to the destruction of war, it was really about the indoctrination process of the human mind. All songs were recorded at her parent's house in the suburbs using her brother's Moog Opus 3, her father's PAiA, Drummer Boy, synths, flute, saxophone and a Rhodes piano. She positioned microphones against amps to get frequency changes. While never physically cutting tape, Carolyn would try and get as many tracks of sound into 4 tracks via many starts and stops. Thus began the CYRNAI sound: music and sound layered, combined snapped together, creating an unintentional new form referred to as 'experimental', though it had no particular intention of experimenting. Rather, it was naturally composing sound almost in a vacuum. The 6-track 12' EP was released in 1985 by Mind Matter Records with a 48-page zine featuring Carolyn's poetry and drawings, re-printed here. For this reissue we've added 8 unreleased bonus tracks recorded between 1980-1984 and included a 6-page press kit with photos and notes by Carolyn. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios.

Greek producer Fluxion returns to Danish imprint Echocord in January with his 'Upsides & Sideways EP', comprising three original productions.
The Athens-based artist has spent nearly two decades
honing his craft both on stage through his live improvised performances and in the studio, producing records for the likes of Chain Reaction, Vibrant Music and Subwax Bcn.
Copenhagen's Echocord has consistently delivered high quality dub techno from the likes of Roberto Clementi, Brendon Moeller and Luke Hess since its inception in 2001 and now Fluxion returns with his twelfth outing on the label with his latest material.
Fluxion opens with 'En route', employing sharp percussive foundations, white noise atmospheres and haunting chord rogressions which evolve throughout the track before 'The Place' offers dubbed out synthesiser motifs and glitching arpeggios which are underpinned by echoing drums and a subtle bass melody. 'Flick' then closes out the release with spacey synth riffs developing over groove-led percussion and a warm, distorted low-end.

A welcome return from former 'Gentleman Of Leisure' Jadell who delivers a sublime slice of French house-inspired disco cut 'n' paste guaranteed to ignite dance floors. B Side "Your Love Is What I Need" is a mid tempo, deep disco monster set to get those hands in the air.

Kid Drama's sound is one that's taken giant strides in the last couple of years, first showcased in his Metalheadz debut which came in the form of last years 'Trife EP'.

The 12th Release from GIANT RECORDS is from BASEMENT UK - Abian Saavedra and Brando Morales are two young producers that hail from the Canary islands and both
have a massive love and respect for the early UK HOUSE & GARAGE sound - hence their name. Their track - GANGSTA - lends itself to the above mentioned sound and
could surely stand the test of time among those early classics and it reminds us of an early Grant Nelson Nice&Ripe groove, Wicked swinging drums and hats that all sit comfortably on a low sub bass and spoken word jam.
The next mix of GANGSTA is from long time Giant favorite TOM GILLIERON - Tom's mix is dark and twisted with hidden layers that swell and grow through the track - his mix
builds and builds with a subtle use of the original vocal which then turns into a trippy late night slice of dark magic - Tom's sound is 100% on the button on this mix EXCEPTIONAL !
The following mix is from long standing Tech-House master - JAY TRIPWIRE - Jays mix takes us on a 303 Acid ride into a heady state of affairs, twisting and turning the dial
until the point of break - a serious peak time killer.
The last mix falls on DAVID HOLNESS - keeping the essence of the original but adding more punch and a heavy weight bottom end and sweet Techno pads - that will sure to

Tony Scott drops his 2nd single for Soma under the Edit Select moniker and continues to experiment with his deep and pervasive soundscapes. As we work toward his debut LP on the label, Scott turns in 3 perfectly crafted and hypnotic Techno affairs, drenched in smooth, calculated rhythms and mind bending atmospheres.

Setaoc Mass' fourth record for Figure displays a level of maturity an artist this young rarely inhabits. Two tracks feature his ability to craft finely layered IDM, showing another perspective of the ideas behind the cavernous techno taking up the rest of this EP. Nestled between the electronica-pieces is Torque, heavy yet undeniably beautiful with its big breaks towards ascension, moving effortlessly despite its weight. Things turn serious on the flip side, bursting with bleeps and bulging beats. B1 is a slowly swelling beast with many heads, twisting and turning ceaselessly along its 6-minute runtime, never once letting the tension decline. Spiraling inwards for a full-on mind trip, Search Lights is that key track to drop in the murkiest, darkest hour of the night, one that cuts through relentlessly and unites whatever is left of the dancefloor for one last frenzied commotion.

With releases for the Technasia label Sino, for his own platform Green or remixes for illustrious heavyweights such as Robert Babicz, Alexander Kowalski and Slam, Voorn belongs to those ambassadors of deep, uplifting, perfectly produced but still constantly energetic Tech House, that have set standards.

In its five years DGTL has carved its style and sound worldwide as one of Amsterdam's staple dance music institutions. This year the organisation is deepening its focus and vision. Therefore DGTL is launching its own imprint DGTL Records.
The label builds on the festival's musical theme of an evocative cross section of the sounds and styles; showcasing forward thinking, cutting edge artists.

The one to kick off the new imprint will be the Bulgarian hardware wizard KiNK. Best known for his live performances, teemed with explosive energy, which for a consecutive year puts him to the #1 spot of live acts on RA Poll, he is also one of house's most in demand producers. KiNK has worked with DGTL for quite some time, including last year's audiovisual installation 'Transmission Tower', where the first track 'Neutrino' was born.

The melodic 'Neutrino', kicks off with syncopating bassline. Its interconnecting layers organically jump over and under each other, reflecting the organic character of KiNK's live performances, where every knob touch and turn matters. On the latter, he built the B-sider 'Dynamo': "I loaded my favourite element from Neutrino in my computer and I tweaked the sound through various weird devices in my studio, till it sounded like a completely new track." As usual, he added a few endless loops on the record, "for the adventurous DJs", exclusively for the 12''.
The idea for the DGTL Records artwork is to feature a different visual/graphic artist from the DGTL ART program every year; starting with the cover from Tim Buiting and his graphical visual of the Liege train station, designed by Calatrava for this year's releases.

A year on from Luigi Tozzi and label head Dino Sabatini's collaborative Manticora EP, Outis return with a striking, singular solo work from Tozzi. Ecate EP sees the Roman producer bringing three distinct slices of techno, each with its own set of subtleties and the crystal, adept sound design that defines Tozzi's work. Spanning the A-side is Ecate. This title track is rolling and hypnotic, with muscular, percussive bass. Throughout the track, angelic chords come and go, washing the listener in euphoria. Alongside, we hear a disorienting melody, grounded by the lightly swung four to the floor kick that gives this track an infectious groove. The flip opens with Leto, which immediately defines itself as a club track with an unbroken but evolving set of percussion and a weighty kick. It's around this kick that other elements build. We hear long, ringing, resonant string sounds, and a bell like melody morph and unfold as other percussive components come and go. The track falls away into atmospheric eeriness, which perfectly sets the stage for the EP's finale. Esperede's swung, panning drums give it a disorienting feeling of otherworldliness from the get go. This is before you're greeted by an alien, slightly dubbed out melody and a hanting backing drone that feels like a reference (perhaps in opposition) to the angelic chords of the EP's first track. It's on this closing track that Tozzi's delicate, expert sound design best shines through, and really has to be heard to be understood. After his storming debut on Pinkman and Oliver Ho's Death & Leisure at the beginning of the year, Maenad Veyl returns with 'The Acceptance ov Not Knowing', six tracks hovering above techno, EBM, noise and power electronics. VEYL is the new label by Thomas Feriero (Maenad Veyl, Avatism, CW/A) and Alex Knoblauch (Vakant, Parachute)

Len Faki is ready to share another batch of his personal secret weapons, this time giving away three floor-focused edits, starring a pair of Russian producers Philipp Gorbachev and Nocow. First up are two takes from Gorbachev's recent LP, a throwback into the rave scene's heyday. featuring anthemic synths and even front-row vocals by Polina. The catchy album opener gets rigged with a solid fundament and peak time-friendly bpm, while similarly sumptuous cut Lazer waltzes through Faki's tested and well-proven percussive layers. Boasting massive low-end impact on the flip, the Hardspace Mix of Nocow's K$$$$ hits a special spot, mixing heavy bass, IDM-grade level of detail and Ghetto-ish vox into a unique and heady power-blend. As with all releases of LF RMX, the proceeds of this record will be forwarded to the Berlin organization Straßenkinder e.V. to be used in actions against child poverty.

NNA is honoured to be releasing the latest full-length solo recording from Anthony Child, UK electronic music legend perhaps best known for his forward-thinking techno production as Surgeon. A native of Northamptonshire England, Child has been at the helm as a DJ, writer, and producer of electronic music for nearly 20 years, creating works for reputable labels such as Counterbalance, Tresor, and Downwards. Aside from dancefloor-commanding techno, Anthony has also been creating a private collection of tone-based experimental works over the years, much of which have become the backbone for his latest solo album. 'The Space Between People And Things' finds Child revisiting his collection of unreleased experimental studies from the last 16 years, collaging them into an entirely new framework. Using a sound palette reminiscent to his techno works, Child focuses in on the molecules within the sonic textures and frequencies, delicately emphasizing the negative space that surrounds them. These sounds are then intensified to form vast new worlds, enveloping the listener with bright, crystalline detail and clarity. These two side-long pieces seem to exist and not exist simultaneously, filling the listening space as an almost physical presence, to a point where they blend harmoniously with the air that surrounds you. The brainchild of intense focus and exploration, this record serves as an artifact that gives the listener a very personal glimpse into the mind of one of electronic music's most creative producers. According to Child himself, this record 'consists of location recordings, tonal experiments, and thought-forms from many different positions in space and time. It is the sound of the space between people and things.'

The debut ep of the newcomer Anthro aka Bas Baarda who has been gaining a lot of deserved attention with his recognizable sound and powerful performances lately. This record is a must have for daring dj's who are thinking outside the box.
