Aus Music follow up a string of new signings with the return of 2 of the long-standing staples - label owner Will Saul and long term affiliate Komon. The duo most recently collaborated on a 12 for Kompakt now together they ready the 'Eve's Seven' EP - a deep and dreamy 3-track EP that comes with a remix from recent signing Recloose. Bloom sets arresting riffs circling through rich textures that thicken and thin to startling effect. 'Eve's Seven' follows up with dusty drum samples and bold melodies before the Brooklyn native does what he does best in offering up a typically sunny take on Komon & Will Saul's 'Eve's Seven'. Sweeping filters and a short, driving bass line propel a highly energetic but playful rework primed for brimful dancefloors.

On April 29th Hamburg-based musician Stimming will release his fourth artist album 'Alpe Lusia' on Diynamic Music. It was named after a remote little alpine hut in northern Italy, in which he had secluded himself to work on his LP for a full month, all by himself.
What could possibly make a grown man move into a small hut in the Italian Alps and elude civilization for a whole month In the case of electronic music artist Stimming it was the work on his fourth album, which was named after his refuge 'Alpe Lusia'.
When asked 'why', Stimming responds with the constant distractions inherent in the affluent society: 'When I reduce the outer impulses, I create a sort of artificial understimulation which in turn makes all my gear and equipment appear incredibly attractive again (in the way it actually deserves to be).'
However, even isolation can outgrow you, because Stimming is not just Stimming, but also Martin Stimming. After two weeks spent with only cows, goats and sheep, he needed a change of scenery. Or rather, he felt the urge to consume. In order to see some human faces and civilization, he drove to the city of Bozen, which is two hours away, and returned with a newly bought perfume and newly found strength and courage. These four weeks also cast out an idea Stimming still had since his youth, which was to live as a lonesome shepherd in the Scottish Highlands. Stimming's album begins with the rippling noise of a little creek, and in a way, it is precisely that: A river, which in its course ingests further streams and by that gains force, while still remaining the same. At times powerful as a rapid, then again calm as a river bend, but always originating from the same spring.
'I wanted to create something of my own, a journey that (apart from the basic House formula) orientates itself as little as possible on contemporary influences', says Stimming. If you want to rely on his many colleagues' feedback, it seems he has mastered that - e.g. DJ Koze, who says: 'I am amazed. Incredibly warm, stripped down, deep, playful und most of all personal! Almost as if someone sat in front of his gear while cruising on a cutter boat over the ocean all by himself (and on Ritalin).'
And the cutter boat is indeed part of the story: After finishing the production of Alpe Lusia on the lonesome lodge, Stimming went (not without taking a short break amongst people) onto a container vessel by himself for seven days, sailing through the wintery North and Baltic Sea from Bremerhaven over northern Sweden back via Rotterdam to the starting point. Stimming used this time to single-mindedly work on his new live set - in preparation and anticipation of his upcoming album release tour, which will stretch across the whole globe come April 2016.
Would Stimming recommend this excursion to fellow producers Not without preparing sufficient material and ideas: 'I think starting with a blank piece of paper would be way too tough.'

A lot has changed for Lars Dales and Maarten Smeets in the past two years since they first send me a demo with their music. When we met in Amsterdam in 2011, they had just started their Detroit Swindle project and were making music just out of fun. They did not yet think of taking it to a more professional level. After some time, Elef got them to send me a few of their first tracks, which resulted in the 'Nothing Else Matters' EP together with the now 'classic' Detroit Swindle track 'Jick Rames' on it. 'Jick Rames' is truly a breakthrough track for the guys: it was something completely different at the time with its ultra slow tempo combined with Detroit/ Chicago-esque feel and hip hop attitude. Along with their well received release on Huxley's 'Saints & Sonnets', this marked the jump start of their musical career and it were these releases that marked the way the guys would take, combining the early 90's garage styles with deeper Detroit and Chicago house influences. Their music sounded so fresh and new that you could immediately pick out a Detroit Swindle track when you heard it in the clubs. It was something about their way of building breaks and especially the rhythms that had a typical 'Detroit Swindle' style with lots of shuffle and off-grid action going on. Their tremendous rise in the house scene already got them to be noted as newcomers in the 'Making a splash in 2013' section in DJ Mag and from there it just went off.

Glenn Astro is a living legend. On this dj essential we compiled six of his most outstanding early productions- incl. Colored Sands, three killer tracks from the Tearz EP and a groundbreaking but almost unknown remix of Scherbe's Me and My Mouse.
It's been 5 years since Glenn Astro had his debut release with Colored Sands on Bigbait. We knew from the first moment that this guy has the explosive potential to become an international star. Since almost all his older releases are sold out by now, we decided to give in to the many requests we got in the last month and repress these tunes on a 12' vinyl special edition.
To put this limited Edition (555pcs) in a proper shape, our pressing plant gave in to produce 555 individually colored vinyls. Every record is an individually colored unique piece. The colors range from black to white, from red, green, yellow and blue to all the mixed and mottled color variations in between.

On SA014 Xhin and Perc explore the savage side of the dance floor with four punishing tracks. The EP is sliced open by 'She's The Disease'. Xhin's A1 is saturated with details: strange metallic scrapes, squelching pads and beats that constantly push to the surface. A2 'Blinding Truth' is a master class in dense, industrial textures. The track swoons and swoops in and out of focus revealing Xhin at his shadowy finest. On the flip side of the wax Perc's 'Forge' is built around no-nonsense broken beats and layered with eerie, granulated sounds. The key to 'Forge' is counterbalance, Perc volleys sounds off one another, shifting the atmosphere between strictly industrial and sharply glacial reference points. The EP is closed as darkly as it began with 'Kater'. Atop stabbing beats Perc stacks strange reed tones, wisps of a conversation held far in the distance and split second samples that could have been prised from an opera. 'Kater' is a production that is brilliantly constructed: these sounds shouldn't necessarily work together, but their combination is brutally good. SA014 showcases two of Stroboscopic Artefacts' core artists using experimental sound design to fortify productions that are more that capable of destroying the dance floor. SA014 wa craftily mastered by Artefacts Mastering, Berlin.

We started 'The Classic Series' featuring tracks that we love, bought, played out and which we have the feeling more people should know about them. For this fourth release, It is a great honor for us to welcome such a living legend, a pioneer from the Chicago house & techno scene :Roy Davis Jr. This project includes three very rare cuts and timeless moments of deep Chicago house. On A side : 'I'm Tha D.J.', released in 1995 on Kumba Records + Under Tha Sun', released in 1995 on Downtown 161.On B side : Modal (Woody McBride & David Stevens) 'Lovers' remixed by Roy Davis Jr. & Dj Skull. A massive, rare, and very demand, track, previously released in 1996 on Sounds (subdivision of Communiqué). Our favorite secret weapons, a real masterpiece of deep - tech Chicago sounds. Enjoy !

Butane teams up with Andras Toth for the 'Elements Of Truth' EP this March, set to be released via Butane's very own Alphahouse imprint.
Andrew Rasse aka Butane, launched the Alphahouse imprint back in 2005 amidst the minimal explosion, working with the likes of Troy Pierce and Quenum in the early stages. Now, looking back on how things have progressed and seeing the imprint reach a thirty-release milestone here, the label has made quite the standing in its time, releasing cuts from luminaries such as Skudge, Ricardo Villalobos and Ion Ludwig to name a few. Here we see Andras Toth return to the label with the duo's second collaborative EP following 'Futures' back in 2011.
The single opens with the original mix of 'Truth', a raw, stripped-back record built around an evolving bass hook, jangling percussion, splashy hats and trippy vocal murmurs. The pair subtly tweak the envelope of the bass throughout the tracks entire duration to generate a blooming dynamic while the bumpy rhythm fuels the groove. Following we have the 'Soul Of Beauty Edit' of 'Truth', which as the name would suggest embraces a more heartfelt, melancholic vibe. Bringing a weighty kick, throbbing subs and stunning jazzy Rhodes and guitar lines to the forefront, shimmering with chorus to add a further warmth and elegance to the record.
Last up to close the single we have 'Elements', taking on a more rugged and upfront feel this time the duo tip the focus towards busy percussion, a rolling tom-driven bass line and swinging snares to create a heady drum led groove. Soft chords, bass licks and resonant, psychedelic synth sweeps then gracefully meander around the groove to add an underlying and tension-building atmosphere in the depths of the background.

Attributed with fueling Music Is Love's recent rich rein of form is Jamie Trench, who himself continues along a flourishing 2013 after a set of very impressive releases on his own imprint Roots For Bloom as well Tsuba Limited. Jamie's various musical loves- hip-hop, house and dusty boogie records- are manifest throughout his productions, a formula that evokes creatively crafted tracks to reflect the most prominent of his inspirations. His latest offering results in an EP that not only shows Jamie artist's signature for sophisticated and unmistakable house textures, but also highlights the significance and consistency of MIL.
Discerning hi-hats and handclaps pave out in Back Chat as floaty chimes are sprinkled around the build-up of the track. Things progress measurably with a pumping bassline that gets pulled sharply into focus, and with it seeps into cascading warped stabs swinging off over tight rhythms creating a solid groove augmented with subtle ticks and flicks.
Next; a perfectly weighted house roller. Something Sexy, evidence of just how well Jamie Trench knows how to programme a bassline. Flawless percussive rhythms, cresting grooves and tight drums flail beneath a rolling bassline, captivating vocal samples and thickly patterned pads that epitomize Jamie's fine house-grooving style.
Framed within a tougher context MIL debuted Adam Chappel maintains the essence of the original (Back Chat), as bass kicks play out over analogous twinkles and snapping snare drums, while vocal dashes and a rolling bassline add refinement to a robust heavy-style beat thats sure to go down with DJs and on dance-floors.
Closing proceedins is Autumn, led by an undulating bassline constructing imperishable movement and groove from supple hi-hats and warm keys adding a touch of melodic finesse. Skipping head-boppingly along the hypnotic beat builds in depth with the parts interspersed by sensual French female vocals dipping in and out to give a fresh closing track.
Back Chat's overall up-front, stripped-back house aesthetic falls synonymous with Music Is Love's ethos for creating truly contemporary pieces of engaging yet dance-floor inspired music. This release extends and cements Jamie as a reliable purveyor of groove-heavy house music, and though he's only been putting out records for a few years, he's already racked up a number of high-grade releases. Another potent exploration of house sounds from the Music Is Love crew.

WRLTD series continue with the 12-inch by Maltese producer Christopher Buhagiar. Previously known as N.d (Natch Records, Subself Records, Reaktivate), now he hides under the name of Hail Blk. With launching of his own self-titled label, he took a step forward in his creative evolution, producing raw analogic techno on the edge between harsh post-industrial grooves and deep hypnotic soundscapes. Now we can hear this kind of magic in original tracks on the A-side of the current EP. On the B-side there are 2 amazing remixes of the title track: the apocalyptic industrial anthem by Tomohiko Sagae (Rodz-Konez, Hue Helix), and the multi-layered hallucinogenic excursion by Datura Dilema (Subsist, Modularz).
Written and produced by Christopher Buhagiar.

Released in May of last year, Kerrier District's '4' album became an essential long player, not just because it was creator Luke Vibert's first KD album offering in over a decade, but because it captured Kerrier District at what it does best; funky, sample heavy, entertaining, good time dance music. Tongue firmly in cheek, Vibert delivered an album that ended up, quite rightly, in many end of year polls as a firm favourite of the year. And so, to celebrate Hypercolour's 50th single release, a crack team of artists were enlisted to handle a remix disc, and they come none bigger than Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, KiNK and Head High. Villalobos and Loderbauer's remix of 'Sexspurt' shimmers and glistens over its twelve-minute tenure, the micro broken beats and occasional hats lending a steady hand as the psychedelic soundscape unfurls over the bubbling bass frequencies. Fresh from picking up the Resident Advisor Best Live Act of 2015, Strahil Velchev AKA KiNK tackles album favourite 'Techno Disco'. Churning out a frenzied club re-work, KiNK deploys Reese style basslines, spacey synth motifs that wouldn't be out of place on a UR record and deep organ riffs, dropping in breakbeats to the solid 4/4 arrangement, never letting the energy levels drop for one second. Wrapping up this killer remix set is Head High (AKA Shed), who slams down a relentless and rolling drum mix of 'Come On Kerrier'. Irresistibly funky with its heavyweight 90s style beats and infectious melodies, HH keeps it faithful to the Original Mix and the use of its samples, and delivers a driving peak time club mix.

Ricardo Donoso brings his triptych of releases to a close with this remix EP, bringing in five diverse and respected artists to pick tracks for re-working. Yves De Mey opens proceedings with a nerve-wracking, midnight black take on 'The Sphinx' which slowly builds through layers of skittering synths, while Recondite, hot on the heels of his Hinterland album, brings 'Diagonal Environment' straight to the floor with a driving 4/4 that adds a solid backbone to proceedings. On the flip, Subtext figurehead Paul Jebanasam offers up the most abstract cut on the record withthe dark and winding 'Affirmation' remix complete with intricate compositional elements and blasting cinematics, while John Tejada offers a club-ready version of 'The Redeemer' before Andreas Tilliander's TM404 provides an acid-soaked take on 'Open Drawer, Full of Masks' .

The title track Freundchen features a raw and infectious bassline, filtered funky loops, thumping rhythms and blissful vocal stabs all blended into an irresistible disco bomb. A future Tensnake classic, it has been spawning serious contortions wherever it lands. Heavily road tested by the man himself. On the flipside, Tazaar brings the heat up with a killer African groove brilliantly combined with classic house vibes. While No Fool plunges into the depth of the nights going into a darker hallucinatory trajectory with its minimal pumping kicks, dreamy synths and echo-drenched vocals.

AnD finally make their full Perc Trax debut !
Features full printed jacket
DJ feedback to follow
Berlin / Manchester noiseniks AnD finally make their full Perc Trax debut after first appearing on the label in 2014 when they served up a suitably screw-faced remix of Drax's 'Phosphene'.
Now regarded as one of the most uncompromising production outfits on the European techno scene they widen their musical vision across these four tracks without leaving behind the raw aesthetic and driving energy that has characterised their music and their live performances over the last few years.
From the kind of straight up 4/4 pounders that have made the closing slot at Electric Deluxe's Awakenings events their own, to experiments with off-kilter drums and caustic noise this EP is as good a statement of AnD's present and future as you'll hear all year.

A decade on from his debut release, one of Romania's finest cultural exports returns to his favourite stomping ground with a transmission that showcases variety, technical skill and an intimate understanding of the dynamics of the floor. The stripped-down, moody menace of 'The Swindle' kicks things off, dancing semi-quavers panning left and right, a mysterious male voice incanting. A bass synth motif carries the tune to a climax before its buoyant, trancey conclusion. At all times, elements unfold organically, carrying the listener away. 'Rotate' casts a busier, jacking vibe, its analogue synth cycles pinging against each other. Glimmering layers of sound create an endlessly immersive, deadly deep groove. 'Feed Me' is slower, slinkier and rougher in equal measure. The sustained synths create a gliding sensation, the male vocal first mellifluous and sung then husky and spoken.

The distance from Ricardo's last field trip 'Thé au Harem d'Archimède' (PERL43) in 2004 to the present epic 5x12LP-Set is a galaxy of electronic expression through sound independent from time and pace. It is said that Funk is defined by the notes that are not being played. The space between the notes here is so vast that Funk becomes transformed into the spirit that creates unfathomable emotional adventure. The rules of dynamics between 0 and 1 shift the relation from reality to relaxation. 14 freefloat sessions are made of natural, secret ingredients from the limbic system of astro aztecs. They evolve from rituals, ending in the release of the sinuous percussion ghost from the machine who breathes out a score for easy living. Which sounds like a primordial soup aerosol of funky molecules and molluscs.
