Hailing from Greece's capital, the duo Keep Shelly In Athens have been the toast of the blog world for a while now, and their first EP for Planet Mu is in keeping with a consistent level of odd synth-pop that the label has released this year from Tropics to Vezelay, and Heterotic to Solar Bears. With several releases under their belt they first came to the label's attention with their remix of Solar Bears 'Cub', an awesome re-imagining of the track from SB's 'She Was Coloured In' album. The remix is a monumental slice of cold but blissful synth pop, with stadium-sized reverbs and punched-in repetitive vocals over rumbling guitars and punchy drums. 'The Chains' has all the off-key atmosphere of an Italian horror film soundtrack with the band's female singer intoning a melody that could come from a 'Violator'-era Depeche Mode song. The whole song breaks down towards the end into an intense finale. The EP's title track 'Campus Martius' has a giant humming bassline, with electronic drums scratching away like insects flying at windows, as a gentle piano line ripples over the top painting a feeling of airy pleasure while vocal samples drop a melody at altered pitches in a scene of tentative bliss. Finally, 'Struggle With Yourself' pits Sarah's raw singing over a weird acidic bassline that could easily sound at home on a Coil record along with loose guitar strums, before the track breaks into light spoken word and angelic vocals, finishing off as it started, but with a stark warning. First Word are very excited to present a brand new 7" from Border Crossing. Born out of the melting pot that is Ladbroke Grove, West London with it's unique tradition of merging musical styles, Border Crossing's sound emerged in 2004. Their critically acclaimed debut LP 'Ominous' expressed this diverse range of influences, drawing upon reggae, soul, rock, jazz & hip hop. The second album 'Freedom of Speech' signalled a harder sound with more vocal collaborations, before a venture into the purely instrumental sound of their third release, 'Starlines & Stellagrams' in 2010.

Coming back with a bang in 2012, Craggz & Parallel return with some eagerly anticipated new material in the form of the Product
Placement EP. Released on their own Product imprint, it consists of four tracks that while different in style, still retain that certain kind
of funk that has permeated through their music ever since those early releases on Valve Recordings right up to the guys most recent
full length effort, the critically acclaimed Turn The Page LP. After spending part of 2011 busy with album promo and gigs, the boys
took time out to build a brand new studio to start working on more music. They ended the year by releasing the Future Shock / Turn
The Page remix 12" and now it's time for them to bless the scene again with some fresh beats.
So what does the Product Placement EP have in store Kicking off proceedings is the gritty tech styling of Hurt You. The creeping
intro, all filtered 80's synths, horns and a lilting looping female vocal lure you in one direction before a classic break turns it into a dark
and moody stepper sure to appeal to those who like their sounds slightly more edgy and raw. This is pure soundtrack music. If Lalo
Schiffrin made Drum & Bass, this is what it would sound like.
Up next is The Kraken and like the mythical sea creature it's named after, expect this one to unleash itself heavily on your ears.
Gnarling synths, tight percussive drum work and a heavyweight bassline to help tie it all together, The Kraken is pure unadulterated
funk for the clubs. Simple but incredibly effective. Watch for the house influenced piano line too...
Switching up the style once more, things get a little more stripped back and minimal on Clandestine. Super low, chest rattling sub
bass mixed with dark atmospherics and haunting pads, the percussive elements keeps the pace moving along nicely. One for the
listening crew, turn your headphones up and get immersed.
Rounding off the EP is Belong. Showcasing the versatile side to Craggz & Parallel's production, it starts life as a dubby, bleeped out
skanker until suddenly... The tempo switches and turns it into a funky 130bpm beast. Those that know Craggz & Parallel will know
that house and techno are a heavy influence on their sound. This tune is proof of that love and a great way to finish things off.
The Product Placement EP delivers four cuts of absolute quality, with enough diversity, musicality and top drawer production to keep
all heads happy. A welcome return for Craggz & Parallel.

If you're into the more measured, musical spectrum of drum & bass music you'll no doubt know James Fearnside better under the
Furney name. It's a moniker he's performed and DJed under for a number of years now releasing music on labels like LTJ Bukem's
Good Looking. 'Eindhoven Times'
is one of his most sought after dubplates. On the flip side we have 'Heat In Chinatown' by Dynamic Ft. mSdoS.

Ireland's Kormac has been releasing records as a solo artist since 2007. His debut album 'Word Play' (2010 Scribble Records) features DJ Yoda, Koaste (Black Grass,) DJ Cheeba (Solid Steel/Ninja Tune) Messiah J & The Expert and MC Little Tree. At the age of seventeen he presented and produced his own radio show on Radio Caroline moving on to Power FM while his club deejaying progressed. He's supported everyone from DJ Hype and Goldie to Grandmaster Flash and Jurassic 5's DJ Numark. Not just a wizard behind the wheels of steel, Kormac's AV sets have seen his perform in UK, Europe and Eastern Europe alongside a recent Oz tour with Portishead.

His latest release for Scribble Records sees him teaming up with old pal MC Little Tee for the ska driven 'Superhero' while the guitar and string laden 'Another Screen' is a collaboration with literary great Irvine Welsh(Trainspotting, The Acid House, Skagboys). 'Another Screen' came about when Kormac turned up on Welsh's Edinburgh doorstep with the track written especially written for him. Rather than take out a restraining order the generous author took him in, fed and watered him and sent him home with the track complete. The result is a double header of contrasting styles that prove Kormac's on a creative high.

Leon Vynehall builds on his Well Rounded debut with more fire for ManMakeMusic. George Fitzgerald's label ManMakeMusic are to
release the 'Gold Language' EP on wax and digitally on July 9. This producer and this label seem to be a perfect match, both
representing a very UK-sounding style of house music. Leon Vynehall is behind two tracks, 'Gold Language' and 'Don't Know Why,
both subtly sampled and precisely produced. Gang Colours remixes the former to round off a club-intended, yet soulful EP.

Dual Capacity is the first collaborative EP by London based artist Shelley Parker and curator and electronic musician Paul Purgas. The duo have presented performances at galleries, festivals and art fairs and the release represents their first officially recorded output. Dual Capacity was recorded from a series of live improvised sessions continuing their enquiry into the relationship between old and new media, hypnotic sonics and the accidental and emergent qualities of improvised performance. The project acts as a meeting point for Parker's background working with sound installation and digital technology alongside Purgas' exploration of customised hardware and analogue modes of production.
Across the three tracks Dual Capacity explores the potential for dense rigid percussive structures to operate as a framework for non-grid based electronics. The recordings investigate aspects of texture and tonality alongside primordial and ritualistic approaches to sound and the continued influence of bass driven production. The material reflects the energy and immersive tension of their live performances acknowledging influences such as minimal avant techno, abstract drone and industrial noise.
Released on July 9th 2012 Dual Capacity is the fifth release on the London based experimental electronics label We Can Elude Control founded in 2008 by Paul Purgas, one half of Emptyset, as a means of expanding dialogues between contemporary art, sound and experimental electronic music.

The deeply biographical nature of the recordings is further heightened by the fact that his music has drawn its inspiration directly from his surroundings. If Increases documented his journey from Newcastle to London, Increases II is record of Archer having found a new home in Brixton - from the slow burning ebb and flow of cinematic opener 'Three Years, to the desolate urban balladry of Bruised (courtesy of guest vocalist Tamara Quaddoumi), to the sublime, horn-led beauty of taster track Lean Over (which you can stream now) - the six track EP reflects and refracts the rhythms of the city he now calls home.

A big start for new label Switch! Kicking things off in style with a collab from the mighty Zen of Flip Audio & Switch! label co-owner,
Coda. After a couple of years doing the rounds on dub, Joints finally see the light of day. This tune is guaranteed to smash up any
dancefloor with its punchy swing beats, riffing bass and an unmistakeable vocal. The flipside, Big Up, brings the dirty side of funk to
the floor, with off step rolling beats and earthshaking bass. Supported by Hazard, Twisted Individual, Majistrate, Taxman and many
more.

Sultry, deep vocals and jazz-influenced electronica mix to create the distinct and original sounds of audioJazz. DJ Bai-ee, Dirty Turk, and K Koltz collaborate to create imaginative music, inspired by the dance music scenes of Chicago and NYC.

Spotlight ft Lucy Randell The anthem for the summer. This track is bound to be a soundtrack to many a festival this year. Cato's
grimy rock style track compliments Lucy's powerful vocal. A definite singalong.

Nottingham boys Congi, The production style is certainly on the dark n weighty side of things. Sometimes it's moody and fierce like
'Awaken' or smooth and soulful like 'X', but what strikes you most about the duo is their live warm sound and the organic feel to their
tunes, which they say is a focus of their production.

After hearing DJG whilst on the hunt for music for his DJ Kicks Mix compilation, Photek loved these tracks so much he not only
included them both on the album, but also signed them up to Photek Productions.
Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Dean J. Grenier A.K.A DJG landed in the world of Dubstep in 2007, and immediate
support on Rinse FM and in the clubs propelled DJG to the forefront of American dubstep producers early in his career. He has
released on Wheel&Deal, Transistor, Pushing Red, Warm Communications and has a forthcoming single for Tectonic.

Hollands FAH aka Robin de Bekker enters the scene with this heavy, braindance inspired five tracker. Opener 'Fine Space' is spooky and upbeat with false melodies fighting the tracks ground level acid bubbles. 'Bonus Orbits' starts off as a fast electronic harpsichord cut for a smart dance floor before turning into a hectic swamp of challenging harmonies. 'Sixears' is a shorter track holding the middle ground between a moody Elecktroids tune and hectic, Vibert-like acid. The EPs title track and centerpiece then, is characterized by rewinds, whistles, haunting melodies and a total lack of repetition; its a 9 minute long excursion into the most unreal part of Bekkers mind. FAH finally says goodbye with an eerie cut that sounds like a humming predator with no food to eat. FAHs first one for 030303 comes with appropriate, occultist artwork.

Nicholas Bussmann has shed his skin once again, now transforming into Nicholas Desamory to release "like you" - a House album of such warmth and rough elegance, it will leave the scene all excited. House has always been an open genre, allowing to sample, adapt and incorporate other styles.

This time around RONIN has been given the job to tear your dance floors apart.After decapitating the last of the warlords and relaxing with a nice cup of tea, the Ronin laid low is sword and focused on mastering his sonic weaponry. Sparing no one, and showing no merci or remorse, he has pursued his mission to combine the most powerful elements of electronic dance music into a unique tune: 'Undercover Fandango'. This A side is an abrasive and fast-paced exotic blend of rumba-calypso shaken up with hard drum & bass flavours. This 180 BPM dance-floor killer can happily be mixed with Drum & Bass, Hard Techno or Breakcore.

Jungle Juke Astrophonica invite Om Unit on their experimental journey to the to find new grooves within the grooves.
Part 2 in Astrophonica's three-part VIP series - following from Fracture's The Limit VIP released in May - sees Om Unit bridging the
gap and blurring the edges between tempos and genres even further with his cosmic footworkin' VIP of Fracture's Bad Habit.
The series continues the label's dedication to delivering a complete physical package. Each part will be released on 10" vinyl with 2

LIL SILVA returns to Night Slugs to drop the second installment in our new Club Constructions series.

The celebratory releases toasting 10 years of Motech have so far been hugely impressive, with the likes of Rob Hood, Luke Hess, Ken Ishii and Delta Funktionen all remixing label boss Franki Juncaj, better known as DJ 3000. Here we are treated to something a little different, with OktoRed and The Eerier Child commissioned to remix "Moodstream", one of the highlights from the recent Invisible Moods album. The results, pressed up on a delicious little 7", are endlessly intriguing: the electro-tinged OktoRed version bumps and bleeps in all the right places, while The Eerier Child tweak (exclusive to this release) veers into heads-down dubstep territory with creaking atmospherics and droning whooshes of sub bass that threaten to dislodge the needle from its groove. Limited edition business too - don't sleep!

Rome's Egisto Sopor has been making little waves with his releases for quite a while now. As Polysick he's released a CDr album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and a cassette on the much admired 100% Silk label. As TheAwayTeam he's released a DVD 'Relax & Sleep' and a CD 'Star Kinship' on Japanese label Maomoo, and is also one half of the low key video unit AAVV, whose work has graced many of the important releases of the new lo-fi electronic movement. 'Digital Native' is his first proper album, 15 tracks of glowing, nocturnal, analogue grace that hark back to acid house and early techno, but with a mood and intent that seem to be designed for watching images dance on closed eyelids. It's no surprise that his work as a video artist resonates so strongly with the music he makes. Polysick says of his approach, "When I make music I always have a visual part in mind. In this case, many of the tracks have been influenced by visions of tribal nocturnal mysterious explorations like in 'Preda' which is the Italian word for "quarry". I tried to convey a sense of mystery and danger with those swirling flutes and the timpani rolls too, like if you were in the middle of a jungle, in a deep dark night and you're running away through the trees, haunted, like in some of those old zombie splatter movies from the '80s.. same with 'Tic-Tac Toe', with that clock ticking and the deep bass..." Polysick has tapped straight into the synthetic pleasures of early dance music's otherworldly pulses, the hypnotic arpeggios of Italo disco, soaring Detroit chords, cosmic disco, the '4th World' music of Jon Hassell and the library exotics of Piero Umiliani. Imagine a nexus between early acid house and Italo music being used for mental therapy, exotic travelling and imagining, exciting the brain waves and journeying into imagined spaces; 'Digital Native' is set in such an imagined line of enquiry - this is body music for the resting body.

This Cornwall-based artist has been making bold moves in the scene. Dropping their milestone tenth release, Mixmag's current Label Of The Week Reggae Roast continue to bring together exciting artists from the world of reggae, dub and beyond. 'Show Babylon' is yet another slice of hard hitting dub by Linval Thompson, a true legend of the genre, with a heavyweight dubstep remix from TMSV, one of the best up and coming producers in the game. From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, the name Linval Thompson and the Thompson Sounds moniker had serious currency in the world of Jamaican reggae. In addition to his reputation as a vocalist on over a dozen albums, Thompson was the producer of over 40 albums and hundreds of singles by artists including Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, Barrington Levy, Eek-A-Mouse, Gregory Isaacs, The Wailing Souls, Triston Palma, Cornell Campbell, Johnny Osbourne, The Viceroys, and Sugar Minott. Nick Manasseh has been deeply involved in the development of the UK roots scene for the past two decades, championing his distinctive production style with many of the biggest talents of his generation. He is also responsible for introducing many new people to the genre through his seminal radio show on Kiss FM which ran for a staggering 12 years. His productions have backed several Reggae Roast releases including the previous single with Kenny Knots and the ever popular 'Reggae Music' by Earl 16. TMSV is an emerging producer from The Netherlands with releases on Tube10 and Box Clever. His recent remix of Movado's 'Dem A Talk' was voted in the top 5 remixes of the year on Dubstep Forum and he is widely tipped as one to watch for 2012. Here he adds a deep, percussive flip to the original.

With a decade passed since the first Limited Edition 'Dance hall EP' the gang felt it overdue for another, and what better
way to return than with the introduction of two new & talented producers. Opus delivers a deep weighty bass hook with drums so similar to the original dubstep sound. Together with an all so familiar La Roux sample it sets the tone for the perfect club/radio track. Dubstep pioneer El-B goes back to back with new producer/dj Filth Arris to create a very distinctive slice of ghetto garage/gangsta dubstep. Alternating bass grooves and lossely swung drum patterns create a very raw & infectiously easy to dance to club/radio banger.

After the worldwide succes of the first two volume of the compilations "Playa Del Lounge", it was only a matter of time before Pedro De Mar and Black Hole Recordings joined forces to create Vol. 3. For this 2012 edition, Pedro collected as many unreleased gems as possible, in order to create the ultimate lounge experience all over again. The album features 17 tracks, most of which debut on this particular release. Featured artists include Roger Shah, Richard Durand, Sunlounger and Pedro Del Mar himself, and vocalists such as Andain, Betsie Larkin, Emma Hewitt and Ana Criado. Submerse is 23 year old Rob Orme who splits his time between North West England and Tokyo. He's already had a Guardian 'new band of the day' feature, which claimed him to be 'Making some of the most heartbreakingly beautiful (dance) music anywhere on the planet.' This came after just a handful of EP's and a free download album that blend his love of J-pop and 2 step.
His debut EP for Apollo showcases how his productions have moved on in complexity and accomplishment moving between the digital hip hop of '8Bit Romance' and the glitchy electronica of 'Cluster' to the recognizable garage mutations of 'Give It Up' and 'They Always Come Back'.

The legendary 'Freakazoids' return to the 808 to bring back their own slice of Electro Funk. 'The Freakazoids' is the Brainchild of Lee Coombs, Nick Slater and Lanx (later two both of Shades of Rhythm fame) who came together through their love of Old Skool Electro Funk and Hip Hop and released a string of underground records in the late Nineties. After a ten year break and working on other projects the boys have decided to collaborate again and bring back the Funk.

'Freakazoid Experiments' is a brand new track that delivers the Old Skool Electro Boogie with a modern twist.
'What is a DJ 2012' is a new remake if one of their biggest tracks also aimed squarely at the dancefloor.

Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde is, simply put, one of the most perfect albums in the history of recorded
music regardless of genre. From the lyrical flow of Slimkid3, Bootie Brown, Imani and Fatlip to the
cover art by Fuct the project is the embodiment of excellence start to finish. Musically, the foundation
of this perfection is the production work of J-Swift. His use of jazz samples, phat beats and live
instrumentation had the ultimate effect of 'creating their own sonic utopia', as NME put it. As such it's
more than fitting that Pharcyde's Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde be released as an all instrumental
outing. Swift's adventurous use of samples from jazz, R&B, funk, classic rock and more melded with
his personal additions of live instrumentation including piano, bass, and Fender Rhodes along with
drum arrangements from fellow producer JMD create a lush, jazzy soundscape that works well as a
stand alone recording. Though the west coast's predominant G-Funk sound of the time or the east
coast's conscious kings De La Soul may have sold more records at the time, The Pharcyde and
J-Swift's work on Bizarre Ride has stood the text of time and continues to resonate with fans new and
old in a way that few records have or ever will.

It's been a long time coming and it's great to finally announce the release of Eric Lanham's "The Sincere Interruption", his first long-playing record under his own name after performing for years under various solo guises such Carl Calm and Palmetto Moon Electronic Group and as one half of the Caboladies equation. Commissioned back in the summer of 2011, it was finally recorded in March 2012 and it's been well worth the wait.
Lanham has crafted a very special set of improvised electronic compositions which rise above many of the contemporaries of his ilk. With an eye on both the origins of electronic music as well as the not so distant past, "The Sincere Interruption" was recorded in superb fidelity with great attention to sound placement and frequency variations. Elements of late 90's-early 00's Mille Plateaux/Warp styled disjointed rhythms are bent into surgically precise and meticulously pieced concrete/electronic form, crammed with information overload situations and infinite variables to one's listening perception. It's a challenge to hear the album the same way twice with the sheer amount of action and peculiarity happening over the duration.

While there are indeed busy moments throughout, tracks like "21:00" and "No Ordinates" display an attention to control and deep focus, relying on an idea which develops and evolves seamlessly in subtle variation while retaining a repetitive nature. An outstanding effort and a great addition to the ever evolving Spectrum Spools catalog.

Dark & atmospheric, this could easily be a soundtrack of horror film proportions. The Bass is thick and punchy with the eerie sample 'Dark Triangles!' slicing through the darkness. Support from Mistajam, Hatcha, Soap Dodgers, Walsh, N-Type & Surge. D: Zombie Apocalypse - This one is more on the jump up side, proving the diversity in N-Type & Surge's production style. As the zombies approach, tension builds to the drop with the dramatic sample 'This is the End'. The bass is weighty and growling, like a blood thirsty monster. The second drop steps up the pace with a staggered, automated bass rinse out.
