Here we have the follow up to that release and it's undoubtedly another exciting 12', packed with plenty of Cyantific's trademark energy.Effortlessly combining sharp production skills with graceful musicality, you can always be assured that a new Cyantific record is one to watch out for and this new single is certainly no exception.'Mirador' takes the lead, opening with huge sweeping sound FX and a bouncing synth line that harks back to a classic Ram sound. This one undeniably straddles the line between restrained musical class and outright dance floor mayhem.On the flip side 'Defect' comes in at an infinitely more paranoid level. Strings are infused with urgency and rolling breaks thunder along, dragging you kicking and screaming towards the inevitable drop. You won't be disappointed when it hits either, grinding bassline sections are juxtaposed with obsessive synths, all pulling you deeper into Cyantific's musical world.

David Lynch sent his album ('Crazy Clown Time') to his friend Moby and asked him to choose a track to remix, Moby chose the track 'Noah's Ark' and this is the first time that Moby has remixed one of David Lynch's solo tracks.

I was born 1978 in Seyðisfjörður, Iceland and have been playing the piano and keyboards since age of 9.
My main focus and interest is in improvisation, composition and performance of music.
How improvisation and composition can meet effortlessly as a creation of musical ideas and sounds.
I am also thoughtful of the general passion & drive behind creation of things, in what way they are presented and passed on to people, in music, arts and life in general.
Since childhood I´ve collaborated with a whole spectrum of artist, from obscure troubadours in the countryside to stadium bands, covering all fields og music, both in Iceland and abroad.
I have also composed and arranged a great deal of music for Theater, Film, Art installations, performances and videos of all kinds.
Released my first album Rask in 2002, and now I am currently composing and working on a series of records with solo piano music for Radio Bongo with Improvised Pianoworks I (broadcast01) as the first Radio Bongo release.

Relentless 4×4 kicks stew over the thickest marinade of bass and detuned synth drones. Already with heavy play from Jon Convex, Martyn, Jimmy Edgar, Benji B (just to name a few) this track is fast becoming a favourite on the summer menu.

'I'm not a girlie-girl,' claims Madi Poncia, sitting before me with an armful of body art, a nose stud and Dr Marten boots. The founder and front person of Brighton-based punk-pop/new wave band Dear Prudence is a disarming mix of feisty noir-ish pop songstress and charming girl-next-door. At her side are Rick Ahir (guitar/backing vocals), Alexis Nunez (drums), Paul Egan (bass/backing vocals) and Andy Highmore (keyboards).

'I got into Siouxsie, The Cure, Depeche Mode at school,' Madi says. 'Everyone else was listening to chart music and I was looking for something different. Those groups struck a chord with me. Their legacies are such an inspiration.'
Madi has an extraordinary, spellbinding voice, a giant, soulful siren that crackles with heartbreak and sadness, irony and elation. Lyrically, the songs have a bittersweet, lovelorn feel, a fact that Madi ascribes to events in her personal life. 'Songwriting is a form of escape for me. I grew up in a very quiet coastal town where I'd spend hours imagining the future. As I got older songwriting also became a way of dealing with the difficulties of things like love and loss.'

Powerful and dark, their recordings have a modern, mainstream pop flavour, underpinned with a strong undercurrent of moody '80s electro. It subtly reflects other inspirations, too, such as Pulp, Blur and The Smiths, and more recently Biffy Clyro, Lower Than Atlantis and Twin Atlantic.

Clearly a band with big ambitions, Dear Prudence is named after the '80s version of the song by Madi's heroes, Siouxsie and The Banshees. 'I love Siouxsie Sioux's dark glamour and feisty attitude,' Madi explains. 'I really admire her.' Bright, bold and beautiful Madi has an endearing charm and confidence that's likely to draw a crowd of her own female admirers, as well as cement her allure for a male audience. With their debut album due and a hunger to get out on the road, 2012 looks set to be a very exciting year.

Join the Dots reaches it's dirty dozen in the form of Leeds based noiseniks 'Death on the Balcony'. After a year of rather big releases, hanging out with Wolf & Lamb, Soul Clap and other assorted cool cats and playing a hectic schedule of gigs across the world that literally saw fans throwing themselves (from a ruddy great height apparently) at our boys they now contribute DOT012 to the JTDs family.Whilst being described as everything from disco, house, deep techno and any number of other pointless monikers (these are just their own descriptions we should add). Death on the Balcony have you could say come home to roost. Think of us as their crash mat, their safety harness, their bungee cord. We are going to look after them whilst they just sit back and admire the view.Whether they are moon lovers or have had an experience of being caught in a rip-tide, dragged out to sea and marooned on a dessert island with nothing but a generator, a macbook pro and a copy of Reason, lead track 'Change In The Tide' name aside, contains nothing to link it with either experience, whilst 'Far From Home' continues the marooned on a desert island theme but is actually a huge star-gazer tune, stacked with soaring vocals and kick that whilst hidden under the layers of synth action is never lost again. The B side heads further down the to the low end of the bass spectrum. Both tracks could be described as 'chugging'. 'Look To Higher Ground' would be the perfect place from which to catch sight of passing ships whilst it is also is flooded with the darker side of cosmic influences, voices flutter, riding the groove, all of which is whipped massively into shape by growling bass line. 'Visions' being the effect of sunstroke is also a piano laden bass driven throdder (as opposed to thrapper), a ton of reverb and looped vocal and yet more piano stabs. It's a choice piece of warm up gear if ever there was one.

Following on from their last release was no easy task. 'Overkill / Hold Me' held simultaneous number 1 spots on Trackitdown drum and bass and dubstep charts with 'Hold Me' named by Skream and Benga as one of their 'Drops of 2011'. The official video for 'Hold Me' has racked up 2.5 million views and to date Delta Heavy are the only artists apart from Knife Party to have had releases on all UKF YouTube channels.

It's been a while since we have seen a release from DFRNT for On The Edge, but I'm proud to announce, the wait is finally over! This 3 track EP provides us with an abundance of different flavours, but still retains the genius sound that is DFRNT at the very core of every tune. Let me first draw to your attention to 'The Big Freeze'. It's a Drum and Bass track that has been moulded like a true pro. For Distal, 28 year old Atlanta producer Michael Rathbun, his highly anticipated debut album 'Civilization' is the crowning point of his past two years of work. Releases and remixes for labels such as Soul Jazz Records, Grizzly, Fortified Audio, Trouble & Bass, Seclusiasis and Tectonic (not to mention his own imprint, Embassy Recordings, which he runs in tandem with old school friend Ethan Anderson aka Mite), and tours with Pearson Sound and Africa Hi Tech has seen his name on the lips of discerning electronic tastemakers worldwide. Before entering the world of production, Distal spent a few years researching a sensational auditory phenomenon called Synesthesia at Georgia State University. One day while digging through break-core records he stumbled upon a sound that would inspire him to launch his production career. This record, in a turn of complete serendipity, was 'Punisher' by Tectonic label head Pinch. Using his newfound passion, traditional teachings and his scientific studies in unison he ran head first into the studio. Taking influences from his love of techno, jungle and hardcore, Distal's sound fluctuates between a wide array of moods, rhythms and tempos that veer between dubstep, juke, footwork, house and, naturally being from Atlanta, southern hip hop. From popping 808 cowbells on opener 'The Sun' to dancehall minimalism in 'Rattlesnake' to the Balearic tribalism of 'She Wears Pearls'; these elements join the dots on Distal's map of 'Civilization'.

Calling Home is the debut album from Dot a.k.a. Natasha Musevic coming out on Read WriteMusic. Having had various tracks released through Imminent (former Immigrant) Recordings, this female dubstep producer chooses to introduce a truly diverse set of tunes, including the most distinctive feature of the album that at the same time shows a new approach to her music production - her vocals. This might imply an idea of tenderness but with an incredible fatness of beats, a combination of sub bass deepness, aggression and edginess intervening throughout the whole album, Dot proves the opposite. The album created in 2009 starts off with unique deepness in the first track MX4, announcing the feeling of the album which - like the track itself - tries to trick you with the introductory soft vocals but instead hits you with its massive sub space. The tension grows in the following tracks, pumping up the pressure through atmospheric sounds, dark and hard-edged beats, reaching its peak in Ratio which is with its mixture of four on the floor rhythm and minimal brake downs an absolute dance floor killer. The following Dreamz Are Forever takes a slower and dreamier pace and a sudden cut happens in the shorter Interlude that follows, proving the unpredictability and the experimental spirit of the album. The journey continues in a melodic manner, gradually building up the tempo from a jungle inspired feel in IMF to the deep and yet relaxed end.The eleven tracks on Calling Home show Dot's ability to combine the usually unimaginable: quirky piano melodies flow on a thick sub bass line, adding a classical touch to it, her soft voice contradicts and at the same time complements the criticism of her lyrics, interlacing with a variety of sounds, ranging from hardedged dubstep to pure instrumental and ambiental tunes. Vladivostok lad Eastcolors is probably most well-known within the DnB community for his mixes and for his collaborations with Enei and Nuage. As far as modern drum and bass is concerned Eastcolors is at the forefront of that techy, fresh sound emanating from Eastern Europe and Russia. With this in mind then, it's clear that while his tunes fuse well with his fellow Russian drum and bass cohorts, Eastcolors is making a departure from collabs.
What better way to celebrate Demand's tenth release then, with Eastcolors settings about placing his name upfront and alone with his first ever solo 12'.
Bursting into techy synths right from the off, 'Things Inside' is one of those rare steppers that's just as effective on headphones as it is through a proper system in the early hours of a Sunday morning. Already a dancefloor staple and a favourite with the likes of Friction, Ant-TC1, Chris SU, Mutated Forms, Villem and Foreign Concept (to name but a few), you really should to grab this while it's hot.
On the flip 'Heavy Tone' rumbles forth with a typically Eastcolors take on what a roller should be. Lenzman-esque synths and strange, celestial vocals are quickly worked over by an electrical storm of droning bass and pads. As the synths return to break up the clouds here and there, 'Heavy Tone' loses the idea of becoming another lost bass-heavy roller and settles into being a multi-layered piece of quality drum and bass.

Developing their own sound and twist on modern hip hop, psychedelic and soul, New Zealand's Electric Wire Hustle has forged a fresh sound that challenges genre boundaries and preconceptions.

The music of EWH reaches forward while referencing key points of music's past. Thick drums and percussion layered with synth lines, hints of Fender Rhodes and nylon stringed guitars have your neck snapping while your ear cranes to the evocative vocals of Mara TK.

Since forming in 2007 the trio of - Mara TK, Taay Ninh and Myele Manzanza - have experienced an outstanding response to their music. Their strong live shows have seen them support the likes of UK soul singer Alice Russell, Japan's DJ Krush, Grooveman Spot and U.S. psychedlic soul outfit SA-RA Creative Partners.

Stableface", one of the standout tracks from Lithuanian producer Eleven Tigers' debut album "Clouds Are Mountains" finds itself pride of place on this 12" release from Soul Motive. Opening with an extended intro of cracked Burial-like atmospherics, the track soon gains a life of its own with its minimal 2-step beat and cracked vocal samples, complete with the kind of intricate melodicism of Four Tet. On the flip side Bristol's Peverelist turns in a fine reworking of the track. Taking the already sparse original and extending its panoramic reach even further, he concentrates on the micro qualities of the rhythms, opens up huge holes in the original's deft tapestry and creates a masterful reworking which brings out the dubstep within its DNA.

Texas based imprint Warm Communications latest cut is a double header from London based Fracture. Label boss Heath is keen to keep the label diverse whilst pushing some of the finest producers around in Seba, Equinox and Resound to name a few and the new release from Fracture sits perfectly in their catalogue. Up first its a sweet remix of Ella Jones' 'Lately' which builds with nice vibes and a track here just in time for the summer. On the flip the mood is darker with 'Tunnel Track' and it's refreshing to hear D&B sounding this good again. Haunting pads with solid beats gets the head nodding and the feet moving.

And so, 7 years after it's original release Equinox's legendary darkside classic 'The Phantoms' resurfaces, this time with a distinctly more oldskool feel after some studio treatment from fellow breakbeat protagonist Nebula. Opening with some stark atmospherics and a subdued voice telling of a dreamed communication, a bubbling bass builds the tension thicker still before it's suddenly released by a metallic break that will be familiar to fans of the original tune. This is Jungle, 2012 style! On the flip side, crystalline pad sweeps and a rolling drumline make for a calm prelude to the barrage of chopped beats and the urgent bassline that follows. Freddy K is an icon of the historic Italian techno scene. In 90's his productions were on the historic ACV Records label. Then over the years has always been one of the key points of the techno scene, with record music stores, radio shows (Virus) and new labels like the historic Elettronica Romana (he was one of two minds that created this label, with Sandro Nasonte). His experience led him to be behind many current projects, he moved to Berlin. This time it wants to make its contribution on his own label which is already out talents like Conrad Van Orton and Shapednoise (and it's only the beginning). A label on vinyl only!

Freddy K's track is pure techno. A trip that starts hypnotic. Sounds of a modern techno rhythm already heavy...it's just the beginning. Drones and metallic sounds create the expectation. This is a welcome return from Sheffield-based producer Grievous Angel who has been known for his slew of edits and live remixes - whether it be Grime, Dancehall, House or UK Funky. Having done this for Keysound label-mates Dusk & Blackdown as well as random re-works of productions from artists like Wiley (check 2009's Ice Rick refix under the alias of Bubblez), Grievous Angel has got an eye for recycling existing ideas but is no slouch when it comes to his original productions either.

His new EP on Forefront recordings see's him manifest his love of UK Funky with two cuts that showcase his ability to move dancefloors with crispy drums and the undeniable swing of House and Garage.

Lead track 'Kleer' is built up around grandiose arpeggios over percussive drums that mirror the brutal urgency of UK Funky. Whilst the basslines are militant, the addition of the whirring synths adds an air of smoothness to proceedings and builds a sense of eerie tension around the otherwise stomping effort.
On the flipside is his remix of J Beatz' 'Subwoofer' (previously released on Forefront) oozes tropical vibrations with a tribal-esque beat pattern that ebbs and flows effortlessly and will work as a great tool in club sets. Rhythmically the remix possesses all the swagger of early Cooly G and Roska efforts yet there's an underlying influence of dub as the subtle low-end bassline becomes more prominent as the track progresses.

The sun may be shining outside but as ever deep within the chambers of the Icicle studios there's a chill in the air. Having honed his 140bpm skills to an exact science, Shogun get ready to showcase his first full dubstep EP that's sure to please the hoards of electronic music aficionados around the world. Ill Blu return to Hyperdub for their second single with 'Clapper', which contrasts deceptively swinging claps and funky but martial drums with crazy pitched up and down synth stabs and shrieks that sound like psychotically angry birds. It's an incredibly infectious and energising club banger that manages to retain its swagger without losing its sense of humour. On the flip, West Chicago's juke and footwork veteran Traxman takes the bpm up to 160 with his energetic mix, which takes the mood darker, switching from 4 / 4 kicks to 808 electro claps, with jittery punched-in stabs giving the track a nervous energy.

Iron Curtis - Soft Wide Waist Band (Text: Gerd Janson) As we all know, there is a first time for everything. In this case, it's even a debut for both: the Tensnake co-run label Mirau and Iron Curtis. 'Soft Wide Waist Band' is Curtis' entrance into the world of long players and the first of its kind for the Hamburg imprint that fittingly put the producer on the map with his 'Solgerhood EP' in 2009. Three years and a string of releases on Retreat, Kolour, Mule Electronic, remixes for Jacob Korn, Ripperton or Mano Le Tough and a move to Berlin later, Johannes Paluka alias Iron Curtis has matured enough as a producer to take on the heavy burden of a 'house music' album - if you want to call it like that at all.

The pairing of Jay 5ive & Kromestar have birthed a number of exquisite tracks; and as they grow and perfect their studio presence together this has become apparent in their new work, their third release BNL003 sets the scene for an exciting time for bass music and opens the doors for more enjoyable experimentation.Deepest Fears: An orchestral choir sings out while weird and wonderful synths flutter and float around the mix. An equally unnatural and charismatic bass line moves in and out of an excitable hat arrangement. As the ghostly haunts of the Choir return they're joined by new melodic content and the introduction of additional percussion opens a whole new dimension and exciting chapter to what seems like a book which may have multiple outcomes. Backwoods: Enter the 404, kick and claps, as Backwoods tips it's hat at the early 90's west coast hip hop era, an assortment of pads and melodies create an eerie atmosphere as bouncy bass establishment the theme, unorthodox strings and sweeps unite together to compliment subtle synth harmonies.

'Aura Go' rises, opens, rouses not unlike a soft light growing to illumination, a day slowly revealing itself. Synths whisper and ring out - like bells marking an early hour - at the start, followed by a succession of other awakenings: a palpitating beat, vocalizations that repeat like undulations, percussive poundings and ringings. It all leads to full on, acid-infused, dance floor hypnosis, with producer Dennis 'DJ' McNany pushing polyrhythmic, almost tribal beats to the very front. With the addition of husky vocals from collaborator Jee Young Sim - imagine Siouxsie Sioux crossed with Planningtorock - the sound becomes something altogether, and altogether unexpectedly, gorgeous.

Run Roc's Whisper Dub is a more intense revision of the Jee Day original. While the first version of the track achieves its enthralling propulsion through the melding of so many disparate sounds, Roc's version achieves greater alarm with the addition of elements in a higher register. The effect is a song that feels both tauter and slightly more dense than in its first incarnation. Despite the hushed singing that leads off the track, the fiery feel of the music makes the 'Whisper' in the title seem nominally deceptive.

This is the debut vinyl release from up & coming producer Jim Morton. The 12' presents two different flavours of the Jungle sound. The A side is 'NYC-DUB', a heavy duty track with plenty of pace and energy.An atmospheric vibe is present but the production still carries enough weight with the beats and sub to work the dance floor. Think Ray Keith meets Breakage! On side B, 'Underwater Chord' is again a Jungle Bass tune but on a different vibe. It's a brighter sounding track, due to the chords and sounds used, which wouldn't be out of place in a Liquid style production. With both tracks there is a 'tip of the cap' towards the old skool sound.

After a two-year break, Detroit producer and wayward star-child Jimmy Edgar debuts on Scuba's Hotflush Recordings armed with an album full of futuristic sleaze. Known for his unique take on jacking house and electro funk, he's recently been splitting his time between the US and Berlin, exploring transcendental meditation and the boundaries of the non-physical. This offering is an extension of that journey, bringing eleven tracks of erotic robo-pop to the table. Titled Majenta, this LP is a departure from his past sound, marking a shift in his own ever-expanding consciousness, as well as another exciting chapter of his musical career.Each track is an aural manifesto, giving well-deserved nods to his varied musical influences. Close encounters with Detroit legends Derrick May and Juan Atkins, Jimmy's 2004 signing to Warp Records, and his early exposure to Kraftwerk have all acted as lynchpins in the cultivation of his sound. With a number of releases on Glasstable, Semantica, Nonplus and long player releases on both Warp and !K7, Majenta reflects Jimmy's evolution as both artist and child of the cosmos.According to Edgar, the making of the album was steeped in countless synchronicities, continuously reminding him he was on the right path. In contrast with his last LP, XXX, for !K7, which took five years to make, Majenta is more raw, more spontaneous and in his words, 'more futuristic ... than my other music, which played a lot with retro, especially R&B.' From the outset, Jimmy's flexing his Kraftwerkian muscle, with vocoder complimenting his own unadulterated voice and '80s synthlines bubbling away alongside jazz-funk keyboard riffs. From the raunchy and sexually explicit 'Take Me on a Sex Drive' ('windows down, legs up high') to the low-lit, hypnotic feel of 'Attempt to Make it Last', to the UK garage rhythms of 'Let Yrself Be', to the Kiss-era Prince vibe of 'I Need Your Control', it's clear that the postmodern is Edgar's domain. The Frampton-esque vocals of 'In Deep' close out the LP and further cement his enviable place in the intergalactic community.Spring/Summer 2012 will see Jimmy playing a number of live shows across Europe and the US in support of Majenta (including major festivals such as Glade, UK), as well as his continued exploration into the world of LEDs and synchronized light technology.

Detroit Underground put out wildly variant musical styles on their label, from minimal to house, techno and electro - they certainly can't be genre pigeon-holed! This release comes from Swedish duo Kritical Audio and spans through the aforementioned genres and at moments even into dubstep, breaks and D&B territory. Moody, mind-tripping journeys are intricately created on Katacomb through eerie synths, deep glitchy 303 basslines and arresting electro rhythms. "Bugsmasher" rides electro punches and pounding 303s while the title track finds itself with a low slung, dubstep feeling. "Oceans 1300" meanwhile explores yet another route with emotive synths and tight percussion, while the spaced out atmospherics of "Taipei" round off an excellent 12".

Following his recent 'Jetstar' EP on Alphabet Set, Dublin's kingpin bassman T-woc flips Lady Grew's 'Ghetto Croppee' on a cumbia tip, complete with signature twists and drops in a rubadub style. On the AA side, Mad EP joins the encampment bringing the rooftop party vibez on his Sunshine Knuckles Mix of 'Bass Bully', a grimy bassline roller in hi-top kicks. Amazing white label release with remixes of Lana Del Rey's Born To Die single. Two Armadillos are the chosen ones to remix the follow up of her huge ''Video Games'' that got remixed by Joy Orbison and Larry Heard. The Two Armadillos chose to do 2 versions. Quite a departure from their established deep house and techno releases is the first slow burning 80bpm dark electronica track utilising the full vocal! Killer mix that has garnered much praise from the few that have already heard it. The flip side gives us a big ''Club dub'' with it's more driving sound that goes somewhere between the known deeper house productions of the Two Armadillos and the exciting fresh sounds from the UK bass scene with its steppy percussion and sub bass stabs. A refreshing remix that's exploring new territories between house and dubstep/bass music and very well fitting to the nice vocals of Lana del Rey!. Independent record label, street wear brand and artist management agency Lo Note UK release the eagerly awaited 12' 'Ambush' b/w 'Tactics' by Last Japan. The 12", that has already received extensive support from Oneman, Jackmaster, Rob Da Bank, and Seb Chew will be pressed on 150gr wax and housed in a matte varnished sleeve featuring a digital camouflage print, joining the dots between Lo Note UK's work as both a record label and streetwear brand. South London born Marco Giuliani, better known under his production alias of Last Japan, is a 22 year old beats and bass wizard. His tracks have already enjoyed heavy support from the likes of Rob Da Bank, Toddla T, MistaJam, Logan Sama, Sinden, Oneman, Jackmaster and Seb Chew, plays regularly on Rinse FM and NTS, and has been asked for remixes by the likes of Diplo, Mumdance, Laidback Luke, Crystal Fighters and Brodinski. Lo Note UK is headed up by South London based DJ and graphic designer Oscar Morgan and DJ Charlie Stewart. The hybrid brand's ethos is pushing the best in new music from the UK underground along with producing crisp, limited edition street wear. Last Japan's affiliation with Lo Note UK extends back to representing their tees in the official video for his 'Settle Down' single and has been a regular booking at their events.
