Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Moresounds has such a legit and individual quality to his music. It has humour and light heartedness but will also destroy a dance-floor in true sound clash style. So when he casually sent Fracture the Warriah VIP he knew he had to do something with it.
It was a perfect fit for the Astrophonica APHA LTD series; Moresounds' individual style and individually hand screen printed sleeves.
Warriah VIP sees Moresounds aka Germain Bigou revisit his scorcher from 2017's Gradients compilation. Pure sound killer material straight from Moresounds Parisienne lab. The breaks have been smashed and the clash samples have been dubbed out in that unmistakable analogue heavy style.
Released on Limited Edition single sided 10" Vinyl with Hand Screen Printed dual colour (black & white) 3mm spined reverse board matte sleeves + black paper inners.

Blackfilm is an anonymous Hungarian artist who introduced himself with his self-titled debut in 2008, sold out in a few months and later reissued on both CD and vinyl format via Denovali in 2010. His debut has garnered widespread attention - "Evolving from downtempo electronic music to orchestral paroxysms and, insanely, passing from down-pitched nothingness to frozen urban landscapes, it becomes inevitable to resist." / "Dark and brooding, Blackfilm envelopes you like a thick fog creeping off a cooling swampland." (Headphone Commute) - and is still a classic.

Since then, he has relocated to London and released the collaboration master-piece - Along the Corridors' with Italy's heavy dub producer Eraldo Bernocchi in 2010. After eight years of silence Denovali now proudly presents his second solo album - Zero One Seven', in line with a re-issue of - Along the Corridors' on vinyl for the first time.

On - Zero One Seven', Blackfilm merges tracks spanning across drum and bass, dub and electronic. The sounds on the album are built from the ideas on the original Blackfilm - S/T' and - Along the Corridors' and progress to a sound built on new ground mixing modern production techniques and influences while at times referencing the Blackfilm sound we know from his previous releases.

The album maintains a consistent focus on atmospherics, beats and heavy bass ranging from darker dub and drum and bass influences to vocal tracks and complex ambient soundscapes. Production wise, the familiar Blackfilm style incorporating the use of synthetic sounds mixed with samples enables the album to create an intriguing, shifting atmosphere as the album progresses. A dystopian journey through haunting vocals, hypnotic drum patterns and complex sound design.

This EP Brings the hugely popular Future Primitives back catalogue to life, with a group of 4 classic piano workouts, including Infect Me and Twinkie, two of the early break out releases on Kniteforce Records, as well as the original mix of Swift Half, that was later remixed to great effect by Vibes & Wishdokta - look for that version on a future JKF EP!

This was the fifth in the JKF run of repressing old Kniteforce material, after sourcing it directly from DAT and having it lovingly remastered. Originally, these EPs were released in tiny numbers through a single online store, so have become quite sought after and already change hands second hand for ridiculous sums. This EP was even more popular than the previous four, as it contains 1 never released track, 2 tracks never before seen on vinyl, and all of the tracks are very rare and hard to get hold of. The Cru-l-t track 'Don't Be Afraid was made for a release on Moving Shadow which sadly never happened due to circumstances out of anyone's control. The Alk-e-d track was cut on a test press, but then the tracks changed and that was lost to time. And the final 2 tracks, The Nasenbluten remix of Luna-C and A Theif A Terrorist and a Lunatic were only available on obscure labels and in minimal numbers!

Limited to only 400 copies on 140g blue & green marbled viny
Eveson aka Dead Man's Chest returns after the massive 'Dreamscapes EP' touched down late last year.
Having delved through the archives of 1993-94 jungle, he continues with arguably better results. His magic of re-creating that old aesthetic but turning it into his own will be hard to match. Nautilus EP sets about its business with the summery Jungle contagion of Liquid '94. This bracingly organic roller crackles with a gloriously warm old skool timbre; shooting from the hip with a bounty of ocean deep breaks, retro pads, and blissed-out instrumentation. Juxtaposed with the crisp contagion of the vocal hook; this sun-soaked number erupts into a shimmering crescendo of rhapsodic drum flourishes and soundclash style elements, atop a swell of rumbling low passed reese bass and winding bittersweet synths.

This EP contains 4 Luna-C tracks from the early Kniteforce era, and includes the seminal classic 'Piano Progression' in all its original glory!

Dutch master FFF (Criterion, Myor, Diamond Life, Planet Mu, PRSPCT RVLT amongst many others) returns to 7th Storey Projects with his first fully solo EP on the label following on from the success of the 2017 Double Dragon EP (in conjunction with Coco Bryce).

The EP opens up with the gloriously uplifting 'Never Give Up (The Vibes)', with it's pitched up vocals, huge oscillating riffs and frenetic drumwork - Tommy shows once again he can flip his hand to any style.

Backed up with the deep and rolling 'Heart' and the dark and deadly amenistic smasher 'Evolved As One' on the B-side, we're immensely proud and honoured to have FFF back on 7th Storey.

I Wannabe - drum and bass producer and dj starts new label called Deviant Drums which comes with limited 100 copies vinyl only release of his 2 tracks "Dreams" and "10". Both tracks are remixed by respected drum and bass artists Total Science and Commix.

Artilect's varied musical background is one of the primary reasons why his production is so coveted throughout the back catalogue of the labels he's released on. Beginning his career in Manchester during the mid 90s, his love of breakbeats lead him into the world of hardcore and jungle, where his appreciation of electronic music grew year by year, whether that was the sounds of Detroit or Acid Techno. Having supported artists like the legendary Marcus Intalex at Guidance, his part in the Northern collective Audiosalad helped promote his finely honed craft to a more widespread audience. And now he joins the roster of Horizons Music, an imprint who strives to only deliver the most cutting-edge records from the underground; it seemed like the perfect home for an artist who has only offered the same standard with every track he's released. And the 'Black Fire' EP is no different, with its full spectrum look at the influences which have enabled Artilect to reach this monumental stage in his career.* Title-track 'Black Fire' is chaotic with its swathes of crashing percussion; its impact gains more and more momentum as it gradually builds and crashes along its finely-chiselled bassline. 'Hoax' has the same old-school feel, paying homage to the producer's roots whilst he flexes his ability to create hard-lined breaks which crash against the record's firing drum sequences. 'Deep Signals' is moodier in its approach, with each weighty bass pad lowering the tone as it draws you in gradually. Whilst 'Deep Signals' still nods its head to the type of music which made drum & bass so infamous during its explosion, it alludes to its more contemporary world, with Artilect enabling you to become fully immersed within it. Finally, 'Tryptamine' once again offers a darker edge although this time is goes to even filthier depths, taking you along for the journey through shaking subs and cranking atmospherics. It has a creeping blow, proving that Artilect reigns supreme over his soundscape; another reason why Horizons brought him on board to deliver such a mind-bending release, alongside his eloquent production standard and refusal to bow against commercial pressure.

fter 4 years in production, worldwide DJ sets, a BBC Radio 1 show and running his record labels, it's with huge pleasure that Elevate Records announce Friction's debut album 'Connections'.
The LP takes off with nods to past and present. 'Commotion' featuring Jem Cooke is an early indicator of a DJ/Producer with a solid understanding of sonics and songwriting. 'Ultrafunk' is a high octane dancefloor blast with Metrik jumping on board as co-pilot. 'Dancing' then provides the delectable soulful vocal of JP Cooper. The perfect balance of emotion and energy, it's destined to be taking flight across the airwaves this summer. 'Mad In The Jungle' ft Doktor has been busy treading tracks while 'Blue' struts through showcasing old school vibes aplenty. 'Fall Away' takes the pace down with floating vocals from Indiana and is a blissful layover from the journey so far.
We pick up the pace again with 'Running' featuring Raphaella. Hitting the tarmac at serious speed this one is a straight up floor filler highlighting Friction's ability to control the rave. A long time Junglist, his tale wouldn't be complete without the roots laced 'Forever Dub' - Kiko Bun smashing lyrical duties. 'Killing Me' harnesses Rothwell's vocals into a low-end hike which transfers seamlessly into 'Stinker' featuring Riko Dan & Tantrum Desire - already an underground powerhouse. With its crisp nostalgic pianos, 'All Nite' lands on the familiar ground and brings 'Connections' to a close.
With previous singles picking up extensive support from the key tastemakers of dance music, these chart- topping tracks were merely a snippet of Friction's journey. Traveling through radio airwaves to dance floors to festival arenas, you won't be able to escape the love and support from Friction and his debut album.

Digital releases his second LP within 2 years entitled "Total Control". It's not a massive collab fest like his 2016 LP 'Synthesis' although, there's a few on there with artists Nomine, John B, Villem and Digital's Phantom Audio partner, Spirit. A strong Jungle vibe runs right through this LP. The opening track, 'Motherland' has crisp breaks, a bassline to die for and a haunting unforgettable vocal. Other highlights are Seba's lush remix of Digital & Response's, 'Silver Lining'. 'On The Rockz' sounds like a solid piece of 1998 drum and bass, 'Total Control' is superb and certainly one for the hardcore ravers, 'Dreamer' takes you on a journey you've never been before. Early support includes: Storm, Randall, Goldie, Klute, Jumping Jack Frost, Spirit, Nomine, Double O & Mantra.

"Square Landscapes" is the latest album of Tbilisi based producer Rezo Glonti under the Aux Field moniker. This work is a synth-curved journey influenced by mutated urban landscapes of his native city. Art-work by Amsterdam based artists Graphic Surgery.

Maltin Worf is a B-boy at heart with roots in HipHop and Rap. Inspired by Madlib and J Dilla he started flexing his production skills in online beat battles, exploring glitch and wonky beats. Four years ago he won the annual Laptop Battle in Dresden where he started experimenting with jungle breakbeats after a mind-expanding trip on mushrooms and Amon Tobin.
Defrostatica Records discovered his visions and built a close relationship over the last two years. His debut appeared on "Future Sound of Leipzig" Compilation (DICC001), the track called "All My Money" and turned heads due relentless amen choppage and an up-front message.
In early summer 2018 Maltin Worf layed out five breakbeats on 160 bpm with an unhealthy dose of withdrawal from reality as the leitmotif on "City of Meth I EP". He told the spiraling story about dark jungle euphoria to slamming halfbeats of despair and self-abanonment in an original and enthralling way.
The follow up "City of Meth II EP" arose from his moments of melancholia to a forgiving and energised phase of life. With a refreshed but still critical view of his environment Maltin Worf produced four kicking tracks buzzing in the triangle of jungle, footwork and juke.
Dream - Is this the beginning or the end of a trip The EP opener turns from matrix slow motion into a juke track stepper with bitter sweet soul sparkled all over.
Old Love - A minimalistic drum kit builds the tension in company with the lingering emotional hangover vocals. The 160 bpm track feels lightweight and stingy with a brass theme that could as well be from a 70s cop show.
Clave - The halftempo claps are just the intro for a highly percussive street chaser. Acceleration's coming not just from claves but from a short looped vocal that seems to overtake and falls back around the swinging beat.
Rock On - the bells of positivity ringin in a shuffling footwork beat as a foundation for Maltin Worf's most telling track. Swirling hihats, a sturdy bass and his trademark sample work makes you turn the record and set the needle back to track one.

Gremlinz is back on Paradox Music with a new version of his 2009 apocalyptic number 'Frankie Gunns'
On the flipside he ropes Paradox into a rare remix exploring swinging breakbeat polygons.

One of the underground drum & bass scene's most promising young talents Unglued, finally releases the most sought after dubplate on the drum & bass circuit, his remix of High Contrast's
decade-long anthem 'If We Ever', on Hospital Records.

For the next Weaponry release, Homemade Weapons teams up with special guests to present the four track 'Subcept' EP.
The collection begins with 'Subcept (RIP)' - a display of Weapons' signature use of rumbling bass, intricate drum programming, and haunting strings. 'Primary' showcases a reunion with Red Army and the result of their take on chaotic precision. The EP continues with 'Riddle' - a heavy old school break excursion featuring Belgian super duo, The Untouchables, followed by the breakbeat war drum assault 'Paroxysm' conspired with recent label addition, Torana.

Kid Drama's sound is one that's taken giant strides in the last couple of years, first showcased in his Metalheadz debut which came in the form of last years 'Trife EP'.

Building upon that is the addition of the 'Enforcer EP' - set for release this September and consisting of 4 chunky slabs of hard-hitting drum and bass interlaced with beautiful pads and soundscapes, a combination very few successfully execute.

SUNANDBASS Recordings eighth release is on the horizon, an EP from none other than Marcus Intalex.

As a strong supporter of the SUNANDBASS festival since the early days, the idea for the release manifested itself over dinners, fine wines and great conversation and we're proud to present three pieces that bear all of Marcus' musical hallmarks.

He kindly gave these three tracks to the label to release, and they are now set to see the light to celebrate his memory and his amazing legacy, a decision made with his family after his tragic passing in May 2017.

Deep Stepper, Roller 170 and Ninety One all have that classic Marcus sound, classical yet refined Drum & Bass, tinged with Detroit Techno and classic house, all melded together to form a coherent and distinct vibe and sound that Marcus is so revered for. The tracks are upfront and powerful enough to work on the dancefloor, yet also have a depth and feeling to them for the dedicated listener.

We are tremendously honoured to welcome Marcus' work into our catalogue and we look forward to sharing his music with you.

New VA EP on our Invisible imprint. Early support from the likes of Alix Perez, Rockwell, Spor, Moody Good, Ed Rush, Phace and many others.

Brand new EP on Noisia's Invisible Recordings. Their record label for new experimental bass music. Tunes by , Fre4knc and Survey.

A. Response & Pliskin remix 'The Flood' by Drum Cypha & Champa B to devastating effect - rolling out with bonecrushing amens, sombre pads and earth-shaking bass resulting in a haunting ambience that will stay with you long after the track has finished.

B1. Champa B goes in on the breaks with the none-can-test riddim of 'Eradicated'. Pinpoint drums and punchy FX roll along until it breaks down into an amen onslaught, sitting atop sludgey hunchback bass squelches and naaasty mid-range growls.

B2. Acid Lab's debut on Holotype is the sublime and aptly titled 'Steamroller'. Opening up with light, Vangelis-esque keys and atmospherics it soon gets down to the nitty with crunchy breaks, powerhouse drum patterns, mentasm echoes and teeth-clattering bass stabs. Cavernous pressure to get the whole dancefloor screwfacing.

After what feels like an unholy passage of time since our first 12" release, Discipline is extremely pleased to announce that we are back in the game with a sequel that, while tonally quite different from our first, should be right up the alleyway of any discerning DJ of expressive, forward-thinking Drum and Bass music. Antagonist's "Cycles" is a cinematic excursion through a carefully sequenced procession of moods, seven and a half minutes of spacious, balanced dynamics, squalling acidic stabs and sparse percussion punctuated by sharp Amen cuts in the final stretch. Cycling through a range of emotions, the carefully crafted delivery, and the gradual emergence and departure of each theme add up to a gloriously coherent statement. The B-side sees Fortune flipping the script with 'Rough Divide', a call and response groove that, as ever in his productions, chucks the map over its shoulder and picks the less obvious paths to meander down.Brooding strings, amniotic sub bass, wind and weather warp into the crackle of records and the warmth of a dying fire, and a sense of real foreboding that resolves into a payoff so satisfying you'd get a lump in your throat thinking of the whole entire hordes of DJ's who don't have the patience or the confidence to play more than two minutes of any given tune.
We hope you enjoy this record as much as we are proud of it, and we hope you will take the time to appreciate these pieces of music for what they are.

SUNANDBASS ambassador FD returns for his latest EP to guide you back to familiar shores ready for our annual celebration in Sardinia. Rich and expressive music that works on the danceoor can be hard to nd but FD brings the goodness once again, with this diverse three-tracker.

'All Yours' hits the sweet spot straight away, with dusky vocals and tight beats. Deft guitar licks keep the funk uid, wrapping around an essential groove, whilst crystal keys shimmer in the heat haze. An ace opener to any set, this track strikes a rare balance between rhythm and elegance.

Flipping the script with an ice-cold intro, 'Second Villain' creeps up close and personal before dropping a murderous bassline on your chest. Produced alongside one of Switzerland's most respected DJs, Ryck, the 'Villain' encompasses and embraces inuences from Jungle and Drum & Bass alike.

Finalising the ninth release on SUNANDBASS Recordings is 'Wah Wah Track', which puts the music rst to prove that the medium really is the message here. Melodic layers rise and fall like waves on this classy and uplifting piece of future soul music.
