Beats Vinyl New Releases - News

Serum, Bladerunner and Voltage take no prisoners with their debut EP as the triple hitting force Kings Of The Rollers. The drum & bass royalty have smacked this one out the park with the aptly named 'Rave Alarm' EP. Stay alert Cerberus, there's a new three-headed beast in town.

Following the release of his collaborative EP with Arovane on Apollo Records, Synkro is proud to present the first release on his own label Synkro Musik. Despite having come up during the dubstep era McBride's music has always resisted easy classification - 'Luminous' sees him shift his musical focus back towards the Autonomic / ambient drum & bass sound of his early works for Apollo & Exit Records, backed with a killer remix from drumfunk legend & good friend Dev Paradox.

Dom & Roland's Label has gone from strength to strength from its conception in 2006. Featuring collaborations by Dom with other Artists such as Noisia, Hive and Amon Tobin the label has continued to push sonic boundaries whilst staying true to it's ethos of 'not selling out'. It is currently in A ' Dubs from the Dungeons' Phase releasing sought after unreleased music from the 90's from various accomplished artists every month on limited edition gold vinyl.

* YOU - DILLINJA

This technical amen smasher surfaced just before the blue note era. Highlighting Dillinja's untouchable production prowess, this is inspired breakbeat and bass wizardry at its pinnacle. Previously unreleased, It has been beautifully remastered from Digital Tape to sound as powerful as it did thumping out of the Metalheadz dub sound system in Hoxton square in 1997.

* KING OF THE BEATS - DILLINJA

One of Dillinja's DJ tools created for the A-list in the mid nineties! A masterfully simple yet effective arrangement of body blowing power. Guaranteed to knock drinks of speakers and make Rizlas dance on tables!

* DJ PLAY: Jumping Jack Frost, DJ Lee, Bryan G, Fabio, Grooverider, Peshay, Loxi, Andy C, Break, Fierce, Doc Scott, Dbridge, Goldie, Ant TC1, Gridlok, Marcus Intalex, SB81, Ulterior Motive, Noisia.

Mako and Villem join forces once again for their brand new single forthcoming on Horizons Music, where the pioneering collaborative duo will demonstrate why they've been championed across the scene for well over a decade now. Always keeping it inherently underground, both producers have earned their stripes over the years, delivering slice after slice of fresh, beautifully woven music whilst pushing their own individual careers and setting themselves up as two of the most influential figures within the underground scene. And Horizons Music is just as crucial to the drum & bass scene, having dropped a number of sonic imagings which have captivated audiences across club spaces globally. With Mako already gracing the back catalogues of labels such as Metalheadz, Symmetry and Dispatch, alongside Villem's releases on Spearhead Records, Mako's own Utopia Music and Metalheadz, their history has proven to be an impenetrable force.'Beggin U' and 'Schachror' realign their listener with the reasons why Mako and Villem have long been heralded as greats within their sphere. The intricately laid out vocals of 'Beggin U' drift through the record's intro, slowly building the way for its rolling percussion and carefully defined breaks. Zipping bass layers and cranking drums take you through the motions, allowing you to bask in the tracks formations segment after segment. 'Beggin U' presents the centrepiece of Horizons' ethos. And that's scrupulously crafted records without limitations.Next up, 'Schachror' delivers the same levels of production prowess, again bringing together the might of two legends for a track which resonates across drum & bass fans both old and new. Whilst its intro remains foreboding, the track begins to fall into ethereal atmospherics and meticulously placed bass notes, as you're drawn deeply into a dreamy landscape. Mako's signature is peppered throughout 'Schachror', whilst Villem's expert craftsmanship is clear to see from the track's dark complexity. Horizons Music have again struck gold; although with such a groundbreaking roster and back catalogue, it's hard to see how they'd be unable to add to this, having kept up their reputation. This is why their sound is so identifiable, years on from their first release.

German electronic music producer and drum & bass 'enfant terrible' Phace (aka Florian Harres)
has announced his fifth album, - Between., will be released on 5th September via Neosignal
Recordings. Recorded in Germany and New York, and mastered by Phace, he.s given this LP a
unique tone by updating his own sound through combining contemporary digital music
production and analogue equipment.

Two years in the making, and 36 minutes in playing time, - Between. is a concise body of work.
Representing his trademark detail and juxtaposition of different sounds, the record follows
Phace.s successful 2015 album - Shape The Random.. His diverse discography includes a
further three full-length albums - Raum und Zeit. (as Neosignal), - From Deep Space., and his
legendary breakthrough - Psycho., countless releases and chart-breaking singles on labels such
as Vision, OWSLA, Mau5trap, Critical, and Division, and his own imprints Neosignal Recordings
and NËU Music.

Championed by the likes of Amon Tobin, Skrillex, Noisia, Andy C, and beyond, the Hamburg
based DJ and producer has become renowned for his ever progressive take on bass and
electronic music. Influenced by early drum & bass and breakbeat, techno and electro, but also
IDM and rock, over the past decade Phace has further defined his own forward-thinking style,
which is now paving the way for a new generation of producers.
Ahead of the release of - Between. in September, Phace will issue a series of four singles,
beginning with - FMS. on 27th June. Tour dates will be announced soon.
The album tracklist follows on page 2.

PHACE said:
'My approach to this record was to write music outside of my comfort zone, both geographically
and stylistically. It was made between my home in Hamburg and New York - a city that I took a
lot of inspiration from. I tried to condense all the music into a smaller tracklist, to solely focus on
the essence of what I wanted to say; to blend between my past, where I am now, and where my
music.s going.'

There is something to be majestic about stalwarts of a certain flock coming together to be creative. The harder side of Drum & Bass didn't have it's own power formation until today. It's as of this day that Czech producer Forbidden Society, formed an alliance with two of his most respected peers to create 3RDKND. Donny, Katharsys and FS all have a strong lean to rhythmic textures, tough drum cuts and experimental FX works. Just in time for the European festival season, the thunderous first effort has arrived; and it's going to turn some heads.

Purge EP is a work of experience, seeking for the outer bounderies of whats sonically possible. The title track is an electronic behemoth which revolves around boundary pushing drum programming and pure unfiltered energy. 'The Artifact' is a straight up dancefloor anthem which uses an ominous vocal of cinematic proportions to build up to the halftime body of heavy hitting drums. 'Fire And Blood' is an experimental work of the rhythmic endurance. The final track is a 3RDKND remix of an original track by Donny and FS. This is the final showcasing of the trinity's sonical excellence. 'Purge EP' will be released through Forbidden Society's self titled label

Dominick Martin aka Calibre is responsible for some of the most beautiful and sublime tracks in drum & bass. Releasing on the most distinguished labels, including his own 'Signature Recordings', Calibre's distinctive sound has progressed taking on elements of jazz, funk, dub and techno whilst losing none of its soul.

Brian O'Sullivan aka Jet Li first cut his teeth on the decks in the late 80's mixing Reggae, Hip Hop & Hardcore in his remote island of Valentia, off the West of Ireland. His first introduction into drum and bass and jungle came in the early 90s's when he moved to Manchester.

Returning to Ireland he began promoting drum & bass nights and by 2002 envisioned the hugely successful drum & bass festival, 'Jungle Republic', the first of its kind in Ireland, which he co-promoted with Dj Source & Bassbin Records.

His first production surfaced in 2004 for BBC1xtra's, ' Xtrabass Compilation'. More followed on Nu Urban and he continued releasing on, 'phase2recordings' which featured a track from Calibre.

Jet Li & Calibre come from opposite ends of Ireland. Their love of Drum & Bass would have them meet often and their friendship grew. Having played alongside each other over the years in Ireland & Europe, their mutual appreciation led to them collaborating in 2016, ending in the completion of 6 tunes.

Their first release together will be out on Function Records in July 2018.

West Country newcomer Eusebeia makes his vinyl debut on Repertoire with the four track "Exit Trappings EP". Drum & bass pioneer and Hospital Record's crown jewel Danny Byrd is back! He's set 2018 ablaze with monolith anthems 'Devil's Drop', 'Salute' ft MC GQ and 'Hold Up The Crown' ft Ky Lenz, now he proudly presents his first album in five years.

A 15-track funk-fuelled compendium of rolling dancefloor-fillers that tributes to the jungle foundation moulding his early discography. Collaborations with the likes of I-Kay, Maduk, Ownglow, Times x Two and MC GQ, fuse with powerful
doses of Danny's hip-hop and R&B infused 174BPM productions. 'Atomic Funk' is undoubtedly Mr Byrd's finest work to date and includes one of the biggest future D+B anthems 'Holy Star' that's brought to life with vocal delights from MC Foxy.

'Just A Step Away' (ft. Ownglow) has become a silver bullet for the Byrd, taking a spotlight in his DJ sets as his finishing move. With its gorgeous vocals, volatile rave synths and humming sub-bass, it's not hard to see why. However, that's
far from the only weapon in this legend's locker. 'Roll The Drums' is a certified sub shaker bringing a fierce bassline and thundering percussion, plus there's raw jungle madness with 'In The Meantime' (ft. Hannah Symons). With fifteen incredible tracks from Hospital Records' longest standing signing, 'Atomic Funk'
is Danny Byrd at his best. Crafted for the dancefloor and Feel-good from start to finish, a must-have for a true Hospital fan.

Electronica core and speedbreak... Defenitly a style that keeps on creating, developing and surprise me !

Symmetry is excited to present the first debut E.P. from vocalist and producer Kyo. Writing and creating the songs in her studio, Kyo then developed the ideas of the E.P. further by teaming up with some of her favourite producers; Break, Total Science, Mikal and OneMind.
'Who Decides' is reminiscent of past Break and Kyo colab's such as 'Gave Too Much', a soulful, punchy, uplifting and techy roller, weaved around a backdrop of floaty vocals and elevating pads.
'Murder Tonight' with it's Jungle backbone was the perfect choice for collaboration with Total Science. Rare groove flavours and weighty bass, melded with cutting vocals and steppy old skool breaks, Murder Tonight has all the elements of a modern day Jungle classic.
'Where I Stand' brings jazzy liquid vibes to the E.P. Leading Mikal down a recently untrodden path of musical DnB was a fruitful excursion. This journey into a bittersweet and rhythmic production has created a deep and brooding song.
'Play To Lose' is one for the headzy listener, with it's long atmospheric intro, abruptly cutting into a heavy and deep groove. Morphed and echoed vocals combined with unsettling stabs, cinematic effects and trademark OneMind engineering techniques, takes you on a voyage from beginning to end.

* Celebrating 10 Years of releasing quality Drum n' Bass, Symmetry is pleased to present a sampler of the forthcoming anniversary album.
The A side features the vocal talents of Kyo, offset to a gritty stepping classic Break roller. Peppered with dubbed out Space Echo delays and cutting bass tones 'Give In To Me' is a stomper with a soulful twist.
On the flip 'Who Got Da Funk' pays homage to the renowned Symmetry sound, reminiscent of tracks such as 'Evil Twin' and 'The Flux'. The track is the perfect DJ tool to mix with, but still smashes the dance on its own. Crunchy breaks, seismic sub bass and classic Hip Hop vocal cuts, is basically all you need in a good DnB track.
* Sampler Single Tracks Featured in Break mix on BBC Radio 1 Friction DnB show.
* Supplied to Friction for exclusive BBC Radio 1 play.
* MixMag exclusive premier stream.
* Support from Dj's - Hype, Randall, Friction, Calyx & Teebee, Kenny Ken, Marky, Asides, Spectrasoul, Goldie, Bailey and many others.

It's safe to say that as one of the most revered drum & bass producers putting 12's out today, Break doesn't know how to release anything other than classic workmanship. And with the complex punch to the ears that is 'Condensor', the man behind Symmetry has done it again. A cinematic intro sets a desolate scene before 'Condensor' tucks right in to Break's typical percussive genius. Cycles of face-scrunching complexity unwind alongside tribal, evocative vocals and bass stab caresses, with dark snatches tearing at your aural capacities and ending so abruptly you're left wondering what the fuck just happened. As a new producer on the scene, Emperor is making a legend's impression. The completely eccentric and sharp flip that is 'Network' has been getting select airings in Break's DJ sets for a while now, and the track ID requests have been coming in stampedes. An eccentric sample platter and a wave of whip-snapping, unpredictable break patterns roll along at a ricochet pace, showing depth and production command at a truly tantalising level. 'Network' confidently slides across a deep and troubling soundscape with a flair that is hard to forget, and it comes as little surprise to Symmetry that Emperor is already making waves on respected contemporaries Critical with a remix of Enei's 'One Chance'.

* Includes download card with these vinyl tracks plus three additional.

* Following the success of Symmetry Sessions1, Break presents the 2nd edition of the Sessions series. With tracks from himself and several other artists : Mako, Need For Mirrors & HLZ and Detail & Against, this edition has a little something for everyone.

* A Jungle style musical roller with Break's Give It Up', a minimal half speed bass workout from Mako with The Space In Between' a collaboration from Break, Need For Mirrors and HLZ, with the hefty stomping Atlas Shrugged' all part of the vinyl release.

* For those who purchase the vinyl a drop card is included providing the full digital EP release with the tracks above, plus : Detail & Against's deep and dark flavour on Probel Man', Need for Mirrors & HLZ with their funky and super low bass flaunting track Project Playground' and a Dub / Reggae weight steppa from Break with You Don't Know'.

* All tracks are available as full Digital Download EP or 3 track Vinyl with Digital Download included.

* Support from Dj's such as : Calyx & Teebee, Spectrasoul, Friction, Survival, Ulterior Motive, Xtrah, DLR and many
