Out of the Powder & Louder headquarters, here's news from The Chosen Two. After several remixes for Ton liebt Klang!, Beatwax and Erase Records, the studio got swept and renovated which resulted in the 'We Don't Kehr' EP. While the A-side presents itself in the style of 'Nancy's Room', 'We Don't Kehr' and 'Mean & Evil' elegantly roll out of the speaker boxes and into the sweet little ears of the audience with a solid groove, lots of vocals, and a hint of Space Disco. And as always, the music is danceable and comes with a positive vibe that will put a big smile on the faces on the dance floor.

Erik Christiansen from Liverpool contributed a deep remix of 'We Don't Kehr'. Erik runs the 'NastyFunk Records' label and skyrocketed with his releases in 2012. His songs have already made it into Solumon's Essential Mix and sets of NTFO, H.O.S.H., Popof...

"Leo Leal's Unike Muzik is a New York / Mexico based imprint aiming to bring an esteemed collective together under a shared love of forward-reaching House and Techno. The next installment sees the label padrone follow up his collaboration with L'N'F on the dense and brooding 'The Cellar' with another collaborative EP, this time with close label affiliate - Daniel Cantisani.

Stemming back to his experimentation with piano, guitar and synths at just 14 and propelled by a degree in Audio Engineering, Daniel's illustrious career has seen him turn his hand to Jazz, Classical, Funk, Disco and many facets of Electronic music. Throughout various collaborations and aliases he has bolstered his reputation for creating intricate and arresting club music. 'Beautiful Stranger' sees the pair turn in two steadily creeping House/Techno hybrids rich with glacial pads and immaculately designed percussion backed up with remixes from the eminent Emerson Todd and Sascha Dive.  

The title track gently blooms behind a pulsing Organ stab and minor-key sweeps while Overheim's Assylum rubs pattering, metallic drums up against celestial synths and a steady ambling bass pattern. Following up releases on One Records, Get Physical, Saved Records and Cocoon - Emerson Todd uses an active, filtered bass line and signature percussive flashes to subtly toughen Overheim's Assylum while Sascha Dive's 'Psycho Killer Dub' of Beautiful Stranger does exactly as the title would suggest; forms a rough, tumbling rhythm from staggered kicks and sharpened, clashing percussive elements"

Irjsband & Gert had always wanted to create balkan inspired music, and hence came the duo Stavroz. Beyond just sharing the same musical tastes, these two buddies bond over both being sound engineers (live for Ijs, studio for Gert), which makes them real 'goldsmiths' behind each and every production.
Their music is imprinted with original inspirations while keeping to a jazzy/burlesque influence, leaving little to be left displeased. The bridge, so it seems, borderlines between minimal and jazz-house.

For The Ginning EP:

'The Ginning EP' is the first release of Stavroz on Délicieuse Records. The Original track constructed around a beautiful guitar benefits from a sweet minimal beat. It will definitely make your head nodding and helps defining stavroz sound-signature. On the menu are remixes by Felkon and Britta Arnorld.


For the Finishing EP:


"The Finishing EP" features the magnificent original track with its 8 minutes saxophone solo. Recorded first shot by Nathan Daems, the saxo responds to a real sweet "Stavroz" minimal beat. Viken Arman is adding his "touch" to the track and rebuilds the whole beat in his remix. As for Powel, he makes the track really "atmospheric" bringing a bit of an acid touch to it

After a short break and a very mixed Summer (at least it became Summer !), AFU returns with a new 12inch by Mr. Heckmann himself.
Based on a funky Techno beat and a crazy bassline, he brings back one of his favorite toys, the Speak & Spell childrens learning aid machine.
This is backed up by his long time mate Butch with his freaked out interpretation of the track in his own

background. To take the concept further, the master of hypnotic Techno, IORI, appears with a remix of the same track where he reshapes the rhythm and adds a massive layer of lushness to his take. The flip is a stripped down number "Arachnoid" with FM clunks, evolving pads, and a beautiful harmonic contrast with the deep stabs coming along. To close the release we invited one of our main artists, Go Hiyama, to reshape Wata's - "As It Is" in his very own bit-reduced and colorful taste.

Flug really is one of the most promising new faces in techno. he delivered strongly over the last months and has releases coming up on CLR, Sleaze an Enemy at the moment. here we see him cooperating with Buenos Aires native Slavador Roibon and the two deliver 2 peak time techno tracks par exellance. on the flip we have austrian techno stalwart niereich with an outstanding track called placebo effect which comes in an original version and a remix version by label boss dj emerson. 4 tracks of strong, dark & deep techno.

"La French and German Connection - EP" (Ton liebt Klang)
Aus einem Musikgeschmack entstand ein Kontakt, aus einer Verbindung wurde eine Kollaboration und aus einer Zusammenarbeit wurde eine gemeinsame EP.
"incontrol" aus Lyon und "Wolfgang Lohr" aus Berlin produzierten zunächst nur virtuell, über Dropbox, zusammen und schoben sich gegenseitig die Bälle zu. Dann wurden die Ideen im Studio ausgearbeit und finalisiert. Das Ergebnis ist ein Electro Swing Track "Le Swing Ist King", der mit seiner eingebauten Tanzgarantie nach vorne peitscht und einen satten Ohrwurm hinterlässt.
Der zweite gemeinsame Track "Holy Blues" siedelt sich im noch recht frischen Electro Blues Genre an. Hier treffen bluesige Vocals auf Mundharmonika, Gitarre und eine satte Glide-Bassline.

Abgerundet wird die EP durch starke Remixe in eigener Interpretation, von "Shemian" (Deutschland), der als einer der Electro Swing Pioniere gilt, und 2011 sogar für einen der besten Electro Swing Artist nominiert wurde. Und "Grant Lazlo" (Marseille) der in Frankreich und auch international zu einer echten Größe mutiert ist! Die EP wird sowohl auf Vinyl, als auch digital im Juni 2013 bei dem Hamburger Label "Ton liebt Klang" released werden. Eine starke Symbiose, mit viel Groove und Melodie für den Club....c'est la vie!

With his hits 'The voice of Dru' and the '2 know U' EP on Exploited Doctor Dru earned respect
and backslapping from the biggest names of the scene. Since then the journey has started and led
him around the globe touring all continents. He spread the voice of dru in the well renown clubs
around and gained much love for his adrenalizing sets. But a busy schedule doesn´t mean a special
outcome: we are happy to finally have him back for our 13th release on JEUDI Records.

Proper Lane
If you feel like that there is time for your dancing feet to have a portion of propellent beats you
should hear what this track is telling you. Skyrocket sounds coated with sensitive words told in an
outer space could be the right sweeping emotion you will get from this deep technoid groover. As
Doctor Dru carries a tune for further tracks like his underground hit "U Don't Dance" we are

Speaking of journey. 'Alpha Ray' will tell you a new school of sound experience. What if a 90s
rave, Pink Floyd, John Carpenter and a starbirth open a door full of shining beats and deeper dark
sounds Yes, you will get on a journey of a modern deep house track filled with a broad and
redemptive sound. The beats and booms come as a relief and create a weightless feeling of sound
aesthetic. We suggest Doctor Dru managed to bring exactly those feelings together on this track.

And again it's Reggy van Oers, Amsterdam based DJ & Producer, delivering
a big package with remixes from Modularz label head Developer & label
mate Chris Page. After Evasive isn't out of mind yet, TRC marks van
Oers' next landmark.

TRC01 marches straight forward with dark soundscapes and massive depths.
TRC02 is doing a similar job but opens the window with atmospheric
layered soundscapes. Amazing! Developer adopts these deep emotions in
his unique style and generates a stylish dancefloor machine. Chris Page
is creeping through the techno morass and translates TRC01 into reliable
techno cut. A Digital Bonus remix from Developer closes this awesome

OFF welcomes once again a new member to the family. Little introduction is needed for a tech-house groundbreaker like Jay Lumen, already owner of several number 1 records and with an amazing catalogue of hits on labels like Suara, Cadenza, Great Stuff or Ministry Of Sound. This time he comes together with a 3-track belter, every one of them packed with dancefloor energy and frenzy.

"Nobody" starts the package with a phat jackin beat and a dope garage-sque bassline topped with housy stabs and diva vocals followed by a more techy

"To Be Different", a peak hour tool with a very intense breakdown.

NYC based imprint Serkal return with release number 005 from fellow Big Apple residents, David Gtronic & Randal M. Since his first releases in 2010 David has steadily built a reputation for his trademark aggressive techno grooves. A key artist for Monique Musique, he has featured on no less than seven releases for the Canadian imprint but has also graced the likes of Kina Music. Suara and Art Of Dark. Here he joins forces with Sankeys regular Randall M on the 'Aliena EP'.

The title track sees the duo applying a weighty bottom end alongside industrial beats and fluid sounds and fx. Deep, moody and atmospheric. Scuro takes a similar path. Tough, dark and laden with organic sounds it is powered throughout by its earth-moving kick drum. An Underground Story takes a slightly softer approach thanks mainly to its dreamy melody. The strong kick is still very much present but the spoken vocal, from a well known DJ, floats across the plucked guitar line to perfection.

Desolat duo Livio & Roby turn their remix talent on Aliena and deliver a wonderful revision wrapped in an elasticated and warm baseline. Their hypnotising groove runs throughout but its their pulsing bass riff that will really cause a stir on the floor.

MARC DE VOLE "THE BLING EP"

Marc de Vole, known from releases on Kostbar, Tracer, Piston Recordings, and one part of the act "Boss Axis" gives his debut on "Enterv2 Records".

Spanish producer Hector Couto is part of a new breed of tech-house inclined musicians making their mark on the scene. Considering his short but prolific career has already led him to famous outlets such as Get Physical, Saved, Hot Creations and Noir, that's hardly surprising either. This time around, he perks up on the Swiss-based Definition:Music for the first time since his collaboration with VIVa mainstay Darius Syrossian, the quite emphatic Here We Come. The good news is that Sunday Anthem is a no less enticing affair.

Indeed, the title track sees Couto set his stall out in a fairly vintage manner. Sprightly, energetic and with more than enough groove with which to ignite the 'floor, Sunday Anthem is precisely the sort of anthem that will work wonders incidentally, at Sankeys on a Sunday. Where, it might not have escaped your attention, is exactly when Syrossian & co. line up for their weekly Ibiza parties.

On the remix front, Dene Antony unleashes an absolute pearl of a remix, as he makes the original even more frenetic thanks to some more solid kicks and a bumping bassline that makes all the right noises. Great work from the Yorkshire producer; a man who we're sure to hear more of on this sort of form. Lastly, Definition turns in a remix that's stuffed full with ravey stabs, harmonious melodies, some clever drumwork and a barrage of suspense. It proves a fitting end to an altogether excellent EP.

The latest man to step up to the Definition:Music mantle is German producer Ben Mono. The sometime Compost, Exploited, Stil Vor Talent and Permanent Vacation man is among the most renowned such producers to grace the contemporary house field, and on The Dub Feel EP, he emphatically reminds us exactly why this continues to be the case.

It's the title track that brings the EP to life. Powerful, frantic and bulging with charismatic appeal, it magnificently walks a tightrope that placed between peak-time and discerning flavours. Full of musical charm and blissful melodies alike, it's the sort of battle-weapon that'll spring any dancefloor into life.

On the remix front, Urulu serves up a potent reminder of his own talents courtesy of his 'Anxiety' mix. Unlike the original, it's rolled out at a more gentle pace, and while the throbbing kicks pack more punch than a heavyweight boxer, it's still an altogether different proposition. The whimsical percussion and the canny drums put paid to that fact, while the majestic chords combine to bring you to a place that's teaming with endless fantasies. We are pleased to introduce Oliver Gehrmann, one of the most talented upcoming Berlin artist with obvious talent for productions and host of the Fabelwesen events. It is with great excitement that we present to you the first single from Luca Lozano´s forthcoming debut album 'Life in Black & White'. Part house, part hip hop, part soul and part techno, seamlessly weaved with style and originality, Lozano has crafted a refreshing first full-length for own label Klasse Recordings. First taste 'Need Nothing' will be Luca´s fourth release on Klasse and is undoubtedly his most considered, intricate and interesting work to date. Backed by remixes from Portico Quartet and Sacha Robotti, there is no doubt that what you have here is a special package destined for the bags of tastemaker DJs.

'Need Nothing' is a slow building club track with a heart-melting vocal that bubbles and builds to a crescendo of superb sonics and stellar sounds. Lusciously warm pads undulate beneath a neat hip hop-esque loop before a drugged up synth stab washes over, as the firm 4/4 kick penetrates the deep and dubby low end. Luca Lozano's 'Need Nothing' is a brilliant and timeless dancefloor record for the heart, mind and feet.

Lending their deft hand to the release is Portico Quartet's Keir Vine. With a unique take on trip hop and electronica, the band has won a legion of followers in recent times, their 2008 album 'Knee Deep In The North Sea' winning a Mercury Music Prize nomination and the latest also gaining critical acclaim. With the first 'Need Nothing' remix, band member Kier Vine takes the track in another exciting and unique direction that instantly recalls Portico's signature sound. Chopping up the vocal sample into labyrinthine morsels and laying down a fat chunky synth beneath, towards the close a new synth line imparts more unusual beauty.

Last and by no means least, Sacha Robotti steps up and delivers his trademark style and cutting edge bass jacking approach. Also hailing from the Klasse Recordings camp, Sacha lays down a straight up 4/4 beat before drafting in the tracks' striking vocal, at which point a killer bass line is dropped to work the more frenzied dancefloors.

'Kaleidoscope' is really a little like, that a super trip of 3x the amount of acid bass-line, pitch and sound deception that i really only took one pill instead of two. Real outta control designed heart-beat techno not quite for my listening habit, but we can see the wild and crazy South East side of the world enjoying more then some others.

Catalogue-Number 001 still blows the fire and Dominik Musiolik directly drops the second one. With the Mellow EP the symphatic Frankfurter allowes deep insights in his tonal spectrum. Curly Project is a project created at the end of 2007 between Giacomo Ziani and Jacopo Vendramin, two Venetians guys borned in 1987. Growed up as techno-minimal djs, with performances in some of the best clubs of their area, today their dj-sets and also their productions are more melodic and influenced by the house culture, with contaminations from different genres such as jazz, rock&roll, classical and ethnical music. After the roaring success of the 'Here We Come EP' by Darius Syrossian and Hector Couto released at the beginning of 2013, Definition:Music are proud to finally present the follow up three track 'Days Without You EP' by Darius Syrossian. Set for release on September 9th, the 'Days Without You EP' is a high-octane journey through expertly forged underground house.

Darius' original of 'Days Without You' kicks off the EP in fine style and has all the elements, which he is synonymous with: gritty percussive groove and deadly deep bass that are complemented by a well executed soulful vocal.The end result is a track that is guaranteed to cause delirium on a peak-time dancefloor.

First up on remix duty is Definition:Music label heads Def:Play who switch up the bass line and add vocal snippets yet still manage to retain the raw essence of the original. Rounding off the EP on a deeper tip is Hamburg's Sidney Charles. From the off he makes his stamp on the original, adding melodic organ stabs, soaring synths and a rolling bassline.

'7 sins' is a powerful arranged and intuitive track for a warm beginning or in the middle of the night. Its a typical berlin underground tune with classic elements, lightly commercial but with a sexieness to move the crowds.

Daniel Steinberg aka Harry Axt has always shied away from press attention, instead preferring to craft his music shrouded from ego and hype. His productions are in favour with the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Claude Vonstroke and Richie Hawtin and he is very much an unsung hero of the scene.
As Berlin's underground throbbed with minimal beats and stripped down house, Steinberg seemed to reach into the concreted shadows and caverns and emerge with something shimmering with real heart and feeling. Dicing Brazilian samples with killer beats and laying on the glitch to heavy effect
A veritable chameleon of Berlin's musical landscape since he first started producing his colourful vision of house and techno back in 1993, a time when Berlin's sound was stripped back and very distinctive, Steinberg was already thriving outside this box, experimenting with exotic world samples and having fun fusing elements together to make a cohesive whole that was always greater than the sum of its parts.
And again he leaves no doubt that he can rock the house with his distinctive style whatsorever ! The title is to be taken as an ironic statement as it is hard to categorise his output...and then again, who needs categories anyways!

An idea that took root in a Canadian basement has finally come to fruition. Trevor Wilkes has taken his enjoyment of just-left-of-center Techno and pulled in like minded individuals Paul Birken, Scott Robinson and TSR to help communicate that to those who still like their records. Jazzy beginnings, hairy upper lips, pieces of Bleep Radio shows that were pulled out of the mix, and snowballs in *Swedish bleeps*. With so much hip it's a wonder any of them can see over their own pelvis.

Scan Mode and Alvaro Sanchez, two well-known and talented Spanish Djs, come together to run the so-called Raw Rootz alliance, which is also a new Record label.

Under this name, they produce house music on the basis of sounds from the legendary Roland TR-808 and TR-909 drum machines.

With their first release of a classic house music track, it becomes clear the path the label has chosen to follow that is under the influence of disco and funky music.
The EP also includes two juicy remixes, one from Alex Under and another from Felipe Venegas.

Alex Under has become a living legend in the european techno scene. He has provided us with a powerful 128 bpms techno track conceived to be a killer on the dancefloors.

Felipe Venegas is both, one of the most representative musicians in Chile's electronic music scene and, a very active member of Cadenza. His definition of house music manifests through the mix of lots of percussions drums and culminates with the production of such a track, that surely will be acclaimed by all Cadenza fans!

Having pummelled our floors with Bart Skils 'Shantaram', the Break New Soil faithful are set to enjoying a meeting of musical super-powers as label chief Gregor Tresher joins forces once again with Monika Kruse under their GTMK alias.

Having worked on projects together in the past, the German duo decided that now was the time to team up again. "Monika and myself have been friends for many years and have worked on quite a lot of music together" says Gregor. "We released two EPs in 2007 on Intacto and Terminal M and we also worked on Monika's 2008 album 'Changes Of Perception'. At the tail end of 2012 we decided that we should work on some new material and our new Break New Soil ep is the result."

As GTMK our duo present the arena-busting 'Calling East' and the gritty heads-down stomp of, 'Trooper.' The lead track is set to be a festival favourite with its euphoric synth riff, epic builds and bass swells, whilst on the flip its straight into battle as 'Trooper' drives on armed with its evil napalm-tipped kick drum.

His Voltt nights at Paradiso were pivotal in bringing together Amsterdam's new breed of producers and his Voltt Loves Summer festival has become an annual Dutch highlight, attracting over 15,000 party people.

Skils' own cutting edge productions have seen him release with the likes of Cocoon, Rejected, Octopus and Tronic, and close out 2012 in impressive fashion with new EPs for Drumcode and 100% Pure. He returns to Break New Soil with another brace of techno bullets in, "Shantaram" and "La Bouche", both of which have been throughly road tested by label chief, Gregor Tresher.

Advanced Daddy contains a part of percussion bass, which accompanies the whole composition. A hard skeleton and high-pitch cry run through your body, especially when there is a high sound. Hoboken Hollow is softer, but only at the first sight. The composition consists of some parts, which mutually complement each other and it is necessary to listen it overall in order to understand it. Arnaud Le Texier is a longtime DJ & Producer born in France and living in London since 2006. The opening track Rotation is a floor filler evolving from the first second, building up sequential melodic cycles. On point! Glace works with filter modulations and offers these melodic sequences, simple but very effective. On the flipside Pstyromaniac brings together melodic tonal fragments with strings in a euphoric way while the beats marching on strictly.
