Tenth studio album - Inaugural release on new label 3 Palm Records - Featuring collaborations with Cyril Neville, Kelly Finnigan, Pimps of Joytime, and more - For Fans of Khruangbin, The Budos Band, Vulfpeck // Connection is the new ten song LP from Los Angeles powerhouse Orgone featuring collaborations with Cyril Neville, Kelly Finnigan, Pimps of Joytime, and more. The album is the inaugural release on 3 Palm Records, distributed by Colemine Records and Secretly Distribution. A spiritual follow up to fan favorite Bacano, Connection is gritty, lean, and tight soul and funk at its best. It explores the invisible threads that bind us all, spiritually, emotionally, and artistically. Much like the collage that adorns the cover, this hard hitting collection of songs illuminates the essence of Orgone: a musical pastiche of different vocalists, heavy riffs, vintage production, and a core rhythm section that never disappoints. The synergy created in these songs demonstrates that the whole is truly greater than the sum of all the individual parts and players.

Banana Hard & Disco Kisses is the 1st studio Album of Daniel Klein aka SIRS which follows some key EP's and has the sort of organic textures and realness of 70's soul and boogie funk that wasn’t too over produced.
It is a musically adventurous affair that reflects all assets of Klein’s sounds, from percussive beats, to soulful jams, Italo disco and sun touched tunes. Some of it features Rhodes jams by long time friend Gunter Gerl, and some of it is smartly sampled by Klein himself.
It is music to make an emotional impact rather than music driven by sales or chart places, and that is an approach that is working, with the likes of DJ Harvey often reaching for an SIRS productions in his sets.
Ten tracks featuring artists such as Stee Downes, Hava Izmailova, Arsivplak, Lotus Imane and cooperations with Johannes Albert, Dj Pippi & Willie Graf amongst others. DJ Feedback: DJ Harvey, Artwork, Melvo Baptiste, Lovebirds, Mr V, Sean Brosnan, Lego Edit and Rainer Trüby.

A heavy new compilation from Brownswood shines a light on the independent underground in Melbourne, where a close-knit collection of artists have taken cues from soul, jazz and club culture to carve out a fresh Melbournian sound. Featuring nine different groups, many of them sharing members and studios, the record surveys the musical contours of this bubbling scene, nodding to house, broken beat, samba, p-funk and soul.
Recorded over a week at The Grove, a fabled house-cum-studio in the North Melbourne suburb of Coburg, it’s home to the record’s engineer, Nick Herrera, and two members of Hiatus Kaiyote, the city’s breakout gangster-soul dons with whom many of the record’s personnel have collaborated. Silentjay was musical director, the Rhythm Section-affiliated multi-instrumentalist and producer (who’s played with Joey Bada$$ and Flying Lotus) marshalling together the album’s different players, many of them part of influential collectives 30/70 and Mandarin Dreams.
Nurtured in the city’s collaborative, close-knit confines, the scene has been bubbling up under the radar of Australian music institutions, in the garages and makeshift studios of Melbourne’s suburban sprawl. Sunny Side Up is a colourful portrait of the scene’s potential, exploring the story behind this flourishing period and shining light on some of its most compelling figures.

Friends, it is time for a finish. Here's the seventh and last chapter of the festivities that we put together for our 50th catalogue number. Once again, the mighty graphics wizards Doppeldenk from Leipzig provided us with a delightfull artwork. And once again, you'll get a record that sports a kaleidoscope of sophisticated dance music from Uncanny Valley veterans and newcomers. This time with the emphasis on bright and positive timbres which can be associated with the colour yellow. Cuthead starts things with a bang and his PARTY CHORDS set the tone perfectly (including neck pain after nodding your head to the beat like there's no tomorrow). If chords could be president this would get a lot of votes. Massimiliano Pagliara shifts down a gear with the acoustic road trip SUNSET FUNK, a masterfully arranged track, made up for driving around on your bike, skateboard or whatever vehicle you are using to get from A to B. The slow and sexy IWESU YEWISU from the soul brothers of Duererstuben is a longtime favorite in the Uncanny Valley headquarters. We are super happy that this groover will finally see the light of day. Panthera Krause provides the subtle but euphoric THE NAKED NOW, a House music lesson that's bubbling under the surface. And finally, Uncanny Valley first-timer Daniela Da Luz closes the record with WHEN YOU GO ALL IN AND WAIT, a drum heavy but also embracing excursion into your own neural circuit

Flunk is a quartet from Oslo making downbeat acoustic music. From their debut in 2002, they have built a steady following around the world. They have about 55K followers on Spotify, with the top 5 countries being USA, Turkey, Germany, UK and Poland. Flunk is known for their downbeat version of New Order's Blue Monday (their best selling track by far).
Flunk is now building up towards their next album, their seventh ordinary album. They released two digital singles in the autumn of 2020, and three more are out or planned winter/spring as a buld-up towards the album. The singles are pushed by targeted pre- and post-release world wide promotion in social media. The album will be markeded the same way. Their new album will be out on digital, vinyl and CD. The album patches together trademark elements of soul-healing downtempo electronics and naive pop, infused in Nordic mystique and faded Americana tropes.

Dub-Stuy Records welcomes a new artist to its ranks, California's Dubamine. The young producer has been active since 2009, with a string of digital-only releases, and String Up The Sound marks his vinyl debut with four tracks that trace direct links between roots, reggae, hip-hop, and bass music. The EP features the vocal talents of Jamaica's Blackout JA, London's Brother Culture, a long-standing voice in the sound system community, and DC-based Carlton Livingston, a Jamaican legend best known for his work with the Greensleeves and Jah Life labels. String Up The Sound is a meeting of styles and generations.
The EP's three vocal tracks -- 'Nicodemus', 'String Up The Sound', and 'Good Morning Jamaica' -- offer sureshot summertime anthems with memorable hooks over production that blends the best of DMZ's eyes-down philosophy with vocal-driven contemporary dub reggae in the vein of Mungo's Hi Fi. The release is completed by the instrumental 'Murda Style', a subtle and powerful forward riddim inspired by dub techno and a minimalist aesthetic reminiscent of Rhythm & Sound. This debut by Dubamine combines bass weight, legendary voices, and sound system aesthetics to please multiple generations of bass-loving fans.

Kumasi, New Orleans’ own 14-piece Afrobeat orchestra, is back with their third LP and first live record. After two private-press releases, Kumasi is presenting Live at Marigny Studios to an international audience for the first time via Hiatt dB’s New Orleans-based Mystery Zone Records. Live at Marigny Studios, features 4 original compositions: jazz-centric interpretations of Fela’s classic form that incorporate rhythms and sentiments from New Orleans and the surrounding Afro-diaspora, namely Cuba, Haiti, and Brazil. It’s a bold effort that perfectly captures the infectious mix of heavy rhythms, spontaneous, improvisatory musicianship, and inclusive, participatory style that characterize Kumasi as a group, as well as Afrobeat as a whole.

Latin-infused Hip-Hop project by The Breed and Richard Holzmann feat. FLKS, Cy Leo, Kid Taro, Phlocalyst and Franz. Cover photo by the legendary Estevan Oriol (Netflix / LA Originals)
It all started in 2020 when producer The Breed and guitarist Richard Holzmann decided to start their own project called PAPI CHURRO. The two german musicians came up with a unique combination of latin-folk and HipHop Sounds. Almost like a Lo-Fi Beat version of guys like João Gilberto or Carlos Jobim. But also the typical Mexican sounds of Druglord Movies like „Narcos“ are part of their soundcollage. In very short time PAPI CHURRO gained a fanbase and millions of streams on the net. Since all the instruments are played live the songs are not your average Samplebeat but come with some more complex arrangements. But still producer The Breed clearly references those „Chops and Breaks Roots“ on the songs.
Now it’s time for their first full-length LP. El Clásico features all of their recently released tunes but also comes with a bunch of new material. It features a lot of talented guest musicians. Blue-note artists Phlocalyst on some trumpet parts, Harmonica world champion Cy Leo from Hongkong. Lo-Fi producer Kid Taro and Bassplayer and producer FLKS appear throughout the record.

“Behind The Mask” was originally to be the second Incognito album. Still floating on the high of the success of their debut album “Jazz Funk”, Jean-Paul ‘Bluey’ Maunick started work on new material recruiting friends and strangers from London’s buzzing music scene. Where “Jazz Funk” in 1981 had by name and nature been achieved from the influence of Jazz Funk and Soul music that we had been listening to in the 70’s, “Behind The Mask” from has a strong leaning towards the harder Fusion trend of that time. Innocence and earthy tones were replaced by a bright and bold flurry of cascading arpeggios and screaming solos. Brass arrangements that had been created by singing a man a line were now leaping out of reams of paper scored by the wizard that is Richard Niles. However, still present and leading the charge was the unmistakable, funky, pulsating and irresistible bass lines of the late Paul “Tubbs” Williams.

We don’t really know Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart’s secret but we’re always thrilled to get a taste of his proven production skills. After two acclaimed LP’s as Mr President released over the last decade, the Disco ruler is back with some groovy ideas to put the country into clubs again. One Night is indeed a shiny celebration of the genuine spirit of Soul and Disco, always coming with Bruno’s modern touch, fitting all the criteria to become an instant club classic. From start to end, Mr President’s blend of grooves and subtle jazz harmonies brings a definitive Roy Ayers’ feeling to the compositions. Developing his vision along six titles, Mr President certainly knows how to produce hits for modern dancefloors. Just like on his previous albums, Bruno plays most instruments, when not even singing catchy vocals. One more time, he also brought incredible lead singers in the studio, some you may know from different projects already released on Favorite Recordings, like Jennifer Zonou (Hawa), Cindy Pooch & Celia Kameni (Saving Coco) and Sabba MG (Mr President’s previous releases). Thanks to exciting arrangements, they carry the songs to a certain climax which reminds the great US era of disco and house
divas. Along the original compositions, Mr President also tackles the challenge of covering Roy Davis Jr. & Peven Everett’s house anthem “Gabriel”, bringing the track into even deeper jazz territories. Of course you may know Mr President from his previous LPs, Number One (2011) and Hips Shaking (2014), however you might also know him under many of his other projects, such as Voilaaa, The Dynamics,
Uptown Funk Empire, Metropolitan Jazz Affair or Taggy Matcher to name just a few. Patchworks has been a ubiquitous artist since more than 25 years now, from the House years in the nineties to his recent involvement on different Favorite’s releases like Joao Selva, Pat Kalla, or the last EP of Leroy Burgess & Saving Coco. More globally, through all these years and various projects, Bruno “Patchworks” Hovart’s established himself as an unequalled producer, both in term of quantity and quality, fulfilling his wide passion for music and groove.
Some could compare his path to famous predecessors such as Patrick Adams, Pierre Jaubert, Patrick Cowley or Jean-Pierre Massiera, who like him, have all stayed quite underrated and in the shade of the many classics and hits they gave birth to. Who knows where the future will bring him, he’s not finished yet feeding our ears!

It was 2017 when, chilling in the sunny Marseille in Provence, we first listened to this beat in Suif’s Studio. The French producer (Siska / Watcha Clan) had chopped a 70’s Anatolian hit and had turned it into a soul instrumental. We gently moved that diamond onto our hard disk and few months later we sent it to one of the deepest soul voices out there, known by the name of Cw Jones. Incredibly (although it seems a legend it’s actually the truth), Cw Jones connected that much with the vibe that he came up with the lyrics in complete freestyle and yes, the first take was the one! Although we have been listening to this piece for a long time now, every time we play it it’s an instant classic, and we’re so proud to be able to offer this gem to you, pressed on our most appreciated vinyl format, the 7″ inches. Enjoy, we hope you’ll feel the magic as we do <3

Hot on the heels of two EP releases on Bristol label Shall Not Fade, Felipe Gordon is preparing for the release of his debut album on the important UK imprint. With human contact at an absolute minimum, it's refreshing to hear an electronic music record that ventures away from the machine in favour of the organic. Gordon's ability to blend complex jazz instrumentation with acid-licked basslines, golden-age house aesthetics and the cultural sounds of South America is unrivalled; creating distinctive, beautiful and exciting house records from his home in the Colombian capital of Bogota.
"A Landscape Onomatopeya" was crafted through the concept of a painting; exploring shades, changes of tone, use of light. "I found myself making tons of music and wondering how to start an album process", he says, "something with more concept; a long journey between all the different musical influences in my head. I wanted to try to accomplish something with soul, deepness and an inherent melancholia to it. More organic, more human."
The record - which includes the Spanish word Onomatopeya as a Colombian statement and ode to the Latin American house scene - kicks off with the early evening funk of "How Do You Spell That", the distinct sugar cane sweetness of Guaro hanging in the late sunlight. "Wes" ventures into hip hop territory; dusty boom baps, 90's scratching and live guitar provoking a vibe that lies somewhere between Dilla and fellow Colombian AvenRec before the A-side reaches its climax with a cut of Gil Scott-Heron-esque funk on "She Will Come".
The B-side raises its curtain and with it comes two cuts of sublime house, each more colourful than the last. "The Colombian Excursions of House Music" does exactly what is says on the tin; fusing South American drum patterns with the creative innovation of live jazz to create a dimly lit, Latin American energy. "Momma, It's A Long Journey" maintains a more progressive vibe as it meanders through subtle acid stabs, radiant atmospherics and an oxymoronic blend of mournful, hopeful vocals.
Tape throbs and breakbeats make up the C-side as we delve deeper into Gordon's sound palette: think The Cyclist and Kaytranada, but with an Ibero-American vibe. "Howl" meanders slowly through the smoke-filled booths of a jazz cafe whilst the sounds of Detroit and Chicago shatter and break ("Away", "Das Nuyorican Vibes") over the crowd below on, before "Brazil" invites you outside for a post-dance cigarette with itsdowntempo boom-bap and mellow energy.
The record comes to its end with three D-side cuts that perfectly encapsulate its artistic vision. "Like the album itself, the artwork process was all about texture and analog treatment", he says. "We used old pentax cameras with black and white ilford rolls to achieve an intimate feeling. I found that my mind was drawn to a landscape with a house deep inside the Bogota mountains; where I hang all the time with my girlfriend and friends. It's a quiet, emotional place. Far from the city."
Wiggling basslines, vibrant shimmers and bold jazz instrumentals bring a fitting end to a truly beautiful record, and further cements Shall Not Fade's reputation as a label with its finger on the pulse of exciting dance music.

As the world around us succumbs to disgusting hate-fueled violence, folks are looking for answers....looking for a ray of hope. And while it may not save the world, we all certainly help this new tune from The Harlem Gospel Travelers brings a note of positivity in your life. "Nothing But His Love" was apart of our Brighter Days Ahead campaign, the goal being to provide folks with new music while looking forward to better days in the future. We certainly hope this 45 and the stirring B-side "God's Gonna Move His Hand" can do that! . . . The Harlem Gospel Travelers are not from Harlem. They came to Harlem, however, from far-flung corners of the five boroughs of New York City, and it was in Harlem, that legendary center of African-American culture, that they found their voices. As members of the music education program Gospel For Teens, these young men spent many hours on the subway or the bus to ultimately end up at an unassuming brownston e on W. 126th Street. They walked through the red door at the parlor level, the one with the cross on it, and inside they found a world of music. Gospel music. As their teacher, my job was less to impart information, and more to show these talented young men what they already knew. They already knew how to sing, that much was obvious, but it was here that they learned what their voices could really do and how to use them. We listened to the music of the masters: The Soul Stirrers, The Swan Silvertones, The Violinaires and The Swanee Quintet, and these young men, really boys at the time, soaked it all in. They quickly moved from imitation to creation, writing their own songs and building original arrangements of traditional material from the ground up. They honed and tightened their harmonies. They learned when to shout and when to whisper. What you have before you is the distillation of all their hard work -- the first full-length album from The Harlem Gospel Travelers. Each mem ber of the group gets a chance to lead here, and each gets to showcase his unique and individual voice. Their styles are already fully formed at such an early age (the youngest member is 18, the oldest just 21), and they use them here to great effect. Each song has a purpose, but the goal of the album as a whole is simple: to glorify the name of God and to sing His praises. We hope you like the music included on "He's On Time," but more than that, we hope it lifts up your spirit and brings you joy for years to come.

Bristol hip hop duo release their debut 12” ahead of an album in July featuring a thumping electro remix by SURGEON (Dynamic Tension/ Tresor Records) and an extended remix by Ree-Vo themselves.
The lp ‘All Welcome on Planet Ree-Vo’ due for release in July could only really have been made in one city steeped as it is in Bristol’s decades of less conventional hip hop and bass music. Tweaked and fine tuned during the summer of 2020 the record punches with a mix of red eyed paranoia to a playful future funk.
T. Relly is pure Bristol hip hop royalty – known in the community variously for his links to all of the city’s major club nights, his passion and support for the most disadvantaged (through his work with the youth and prison leavers), through to compering stages at St Paul’s Carnival and his seminal 2018 lp with DJ Rogue ‘Let Them Know’
Andy Spaceland (AKA Andy Jenks) got involved in Bristol bass music as soon as he moved to the city with Static Sound System and a collaborative 12” with Rudy Tambala (AR Kane ) as Sugarboat Vs Sufi, before his band Alpha were signed to Massive Attack ’s label Melankolic, whilst he also became one of their tour DJ’s. His CV of collaborations range from Smith and Mighty to Madonna, and he is currently releasing music with US producer Butch Vig in the band 5 Billion in Diamonds , and working on new tracks with Mark Stewart (The Pop Group). His signature can be heard on this remix for Elizabeth Fraser

This LP finally brings a Clipping fan-favorite, 2016's Wriggle, onto vinyl in an improved, expanded version that features new art, previously unreleased remixes, and a track that's exclusive to the vinyl format. The original, digital-only Wriggle EP was six tracks that weren't finished in time to make it onto the group's 2014 Sub Pop debut, CLPPNG. For "Shooter," Clipping recorded themselves firing fifteen different guns, the sounds of which exclusively constituted the beat's drums, augmented only by a synthesized tone-row. The verses referenced the well-worn technique of "hashtag rap," but instead of using it to boast about the rapper's personal wealth and masculine prowess, Clipping put forth imagistic narratives of three violent encounters. True to much of the group's music, "Shooter" was an attempt to reframe a familiar style and test the limits of its formal capabilities. "Hot Fuck No Love" contains what might be the most explicit verse to date from Clipping's favorite New Jersey rapper Cakes Da Killa. The EP's title track, "Wriggle," was built around a sample of the influential power-electronics song "Wriggle Like a Fucking Eel" by Whitehouse, transforming William Bennett's torturous imperative into a instructional dance-floor banger. "Wriggle" and "Shooter" have become classic Clipping tracks and staples of their live show. With this vinyl edition, Clipping fans old and new - and there are many new fans thanks to their breakout 2020 album, Visions of Bodies Being Burned, and Daveed Diggs' thriving acting career - get the vinyl version of Wriggle they've been clamouring for.

It was already a reference among the diggers’ community, and one day, our friend from

had a fair number of copies of this 1990 LP, a tricky year for vinyl. This record is a mix between
jazz, funk and ambient but with a very special pop touch to it.

label!
Petawane was born and raised in Harlem, New York and started his
singing/music career at the young age of six, when he both performed in church and for friends of the family. The great response and
appreciation he got from his performances made him pursue the dream of becoming a full time performer and musician. He’s always been influenced by the old school greats, such as Sam Cooke, Willie Hutch and Curtis
Mayfield to name a few.
“Lovers Dream” is a stunning mid-tempo track featuring Alura, together they deliver amazing vocals and a tune which definitely makes the
perfect soundtrack to hot summer nights in the company of friends and lovers!

Tyrone Davis is the all time great American soul singer who broke through in the late 60's and never really stopped recording. In 1968 he found a home in Dakar Records when a Texas DJ flipped his first release and started playing the Bside ‘Can I Change My Mind’. The song went to number 1 in the R&B charts and Top 5 in US Billboard charts. Other album highlights include ‘Knock on Wood’, ‘Slip Away’, and ‘Call on Me’ rooted in earthy, rough-edged traditions of Memp. This is an tunning 1969 debut album, reissued with original artwork.

Jugoton, the biggest label in Yugoslavia, published Data 7'' and MSB's 'Degout' 12'' with limited edition cassette containing two bonus tracks. Impossible to find on the collectors market, Fox & His Friends team in collaboration with Jugoton / Croatia Records is releasing a full, complete version of the rare "The Breakwar" tape, with tracks "Tonight" and "Pocket" never pressed on vinyl. All tracks are sourced from original studio tapes. With the kind help of Zoran Vracevic on credit list and liner notes, this is now the ultimate Master Scratch Band album, released originally in a year 1984 when break-dance was in the peak of its popularity in Yugoslavia. While Data was synthpop, Sizike mellow synth-disco recorded in private studio, this release is pure breaks and hip-hop electro, done old-school way in one of the best studios in Yugoslavia, Enco Lesic's 'Druga maca' in Belgrade. MSB used impressive electronic gear and were helped by huge list of famous musicians and guests: Duca Markovic from hit-show 'Hit meseca' (Yugoslavian Top Of The Pops); Japanac on bass, Max Vincent of Max & Intro on synths, Dudu Vudu from Du-Du-A, Goranka Matic as photographer and many more. MSB sampling technique and choices are unique: from obscure industrial records to freestyle; from found-sounds to cut-up breaks and even real prank-calls. This is document of time that still sounds fresh and needs to find it's new, young audience of hip-hop history researchers, break-dancers, b-boys, b-girls and DJ's. When you know that it's produced in 1984 Yugoslavia, far away, but actually, so close to its USA & EU brothers and sisters, it's even more mind-boggling. Thanks to Fox & His Friends and Jugoton CR collaboration, this gem is waiting for your freezes, footwork and electric boogie moves. ----- Equipment used: Commodore 64 Computer, Roland MC-4B Microcomposer, Prophet Pro-One, RSF Cobol II Expander, Korg Mono-Poly Synthesizer, PPG Wave 2.3 Synthesizer, PPG Waveterm Computer, Boss DE-200 Digital Delay, Drumtraks Digital Drum Machine, Roland TR-808 Rhythm Composer, Electro Harmonix Vocoder, Linn Drum MKII, Juno 60, SH-101, SVC-350, VP-330 Vocoders, Polysix & MS10, Simmons drum module.

Cousins Gilberto and Karin Rodriguez have been steadily synthesizing a unique type of musical and cultural fusion together as Almas Fronterizas. Blending their lived experiences in Mexico City, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area with a musical lineage paying homage to their Indigenous roots, they've created a representative musical offering, a modern day psychedelic sonic painting of analog blues, rock, and brown-eyed soul.
The group's first several releases, via their own imprint Discos Pistolas y Saguaros, solidified their space in a wide encompassing and constant changing West Coast music scene, yet stood out with an experimental freedom and independent hustle that found kindred spirits in New York City record label Names You Can Trust.
Now, after a suitable time marinating together with NYCT, a natural continuation of the group's ethos is presented in the form of two new songs on 7-inch vinyl. Featuring a third cousin in Carlos Rodriguez on trumpet, plus percussive powerhouse Ahkeel Mestayer on timbales, conga and maracas, Brian Tuley on flute, Devin Hollister on bass and horn arrangements by La Doña's Cecilia Peña-Govea, the tracks were recorded in Berkeley by Mike Walti and mixed down in Brooklyn for a true coast to coast collaboration. Out in the front, Gilberto's vocals drive drop-top down, wide open and honest in melancholic blue notes, whether he's motoring down the highway over northern soul-with-a-hook A-side, "Cruel Desperation," or cruising on the avenue in the slow-motion B-side ballad burner, "Linda Morenita," it's another showcase of the tremendous range of style and engaging expression that this group can hit.
