Unafraid to push boundaries, ephemerals' third album, egg tooth, explores new directions: their modern soul and R&B songs now tinged with flavours of jazz, afrobeat, psychedelia and bluesy cinematic orchestral arrangements.

With influences ranging from Nina Simone to Kate Tempest, Steve Reich to Alice Coltrane, egg tooth sees songwriter Hillman Mondegreen and singer Wolfgang Valbrun combine beautifully, marrying direct and honest lyricism with powerful vocal delivery.

It's an album with recurring themes of rebirth, love, world politics and philosophy in a varied and eclectic collection of songs - an eclecticism perhaps a reflection of ephemerals diverse backgrounds: the singer Wolfgang is a New Yorker living in Paris, the writer in Nottingham, the sax player lives in France, while the keys, trumpet and rhythm section are in Bristol, Sussex and London.

Atlanta trap legend Peewee Longway joined forces with one of the hottest producers
in the ATL scene, Cassius Jay, back in August 2016 to release a joint 11 track mixtape 'Longway Sinatra.' Featuring guest spots from TK Kravitz, Migo's Offset and the legendary E-40. This tape proves Peewee is one of the most slept on trap artists of recent years.

R&S Records present the three remixes from Sporting Life's Slam Dunk series pressed to one slab of wax. These remixes all came from Sporting Life's friends and contemporaries.
Actress turns in a stunning, typically deconstructed remix of Court Vision (feat Evy Jane) - alternating between using the full vocal, the mood is one of melancholic hauntology.
Galcher Lustwork comes correct with a tripped out, euphoric house reworking of 'Hydrate...' peeling back the complexity of the original for a straight jack that oozes class.
Finally arch beat provocateur Dean Blunt provides a suitably oddball take with his 'Babyfather Honeytrap mix (for Shakilus) final VIP' - If you've heard the amazing Babyfather album or mixtape you know what to expect here.

When a double platinum French producer meets a Los Angeles rapper, you get Alltta, an innovative mix of organic and electronic music laced with intricate and poetic rhyme stylings.
20syl was first known with his French hip hop group, Hocus Pocus, both as a rapper and producer.

He is also one of the four DJs in internationally known turntablist group C2C, who have won four DMC world championships, four French Grammy's and achieved double platinum sales with their album Tetr4. He also has been developing his solo career as a producer and his remixes of Kendrick Lamar, Ed Sheeran, and Schoolboy Q among others have garnered tens of millions of streams.

Mr. J. Medeiros, has been prolific in releasing music both as part of his group The Processions and a solo rapper. He also developed multiple talents becoming a producer and songwriter with an M.C.'s mind and singer for hip hop punk group, Knives, Since their encounter in 2004, the pair have been wanting to work together on a full-length project and this is how Alltta and the album "The Upper Hands" were born. Both have proved their ability to maneuver through genres and touch on the avant garde while keeping their musical identity, pushing each other to create a new sound without losing themselves in the mix. This is what makes Alltta unique, two skilled artists who respect their craft and know when to move forward.

Punky noise, woozy hip-hop and oddball electronics are throwing a rager and it's a colorful one. Such is the basis for new Ghostly signee Psymun's Rainbow Party EP, a three-track foray into the far reaches of Hip-Hop from the Minnesotan music-maker. As part of the acclaimed Thestand4rd project (including fellow Minnesotans Corbin (aka Spooky Black), Bobby Raps and Allan Kingdom) as well as solo work on the Pink Label - Psymun returns with a sonic statement that's as emotive and adventurous as the impressive as the work he's supplied his crew with.

EP opener Glitch Tundra' features frequent collabora-tor Chester Watson dropping in over a sweeping, ominous beat, all fog and chilly echo. Stretching out over seven minutes, an ominous vocal sweeps overhead while synths stagger upwards and dip beneath before a psychedelic, rowdy turn rips deep into the project's heart.

The rest of Rainbow Party doubles-down on the project's noise influence. Borne out of a prompt from Ryan Olson of fellow Minneapolis outfit Poliça, Psymun endeavored to make a set of music entirely at 55 bpm, and two of his experiments evolved into the finished tracks included here.

I Need My Boy,' in a departure from some of his prior production work, relies almost entirely on an arsenal of hardware to thump and wail, a voltaic and warm sonic quality which Psymun says even he finds hard to emulate without his newly acquired synthesizers.

Confetti' also makes use of analogue equipment, but works within a palette that may be more familiar to the producer's fans: jangly percussion and aquatic melody intertwine for a slow-burning but dynamic exercise in leftfield beatmaking. As the track draws to a close, vocalist K.Raydiodrops in for a phantasmagoric few bars before the noisy cannon blows once more. It's an aptly titled closer, streamers drifting from above as the festivities come to an end: a party to be remembered in technicolor.

Following his acclaimed collaboration on Strut with The Heliocentrics, the Father of Ethio jazz presents his brand new studio album, 'Mulatu Steps Ahead' for 2010! The album explores new directions in fusions of Western jazz with Ethiopian modes, moving forward the pioneering sound Mulatu developed during the '60s and '70s, showcased on the recent Strut compilation 'New York * Addis * London'.

For the new album, tracks were recorded with members of Either/Orchestra in Boston, with contributions by traditional Ethiopian musicians in Addis, members of The Heliocentrics and some of the UK's leading jazz and African players during the final sessions in London in November 2009.

Each track on the album tells its own story. The reflective, opener, Radcliffe, was composed specifically for the Radcliffe Institute during Mulatu's time lecturing at Harvard in Boston - the original score is now framed on the wall there. The Way To Nice was written and arranged on the tour bus during Mulatu's recent French dates - "with this track, you are travelling on a long journey, talking and thinking" explains Mulatu. "It was inspired by the many beautiful places on the coast road around Nice." Assosa adapts traditional music from the Assosa tribes in North-Western Ethiopia and Mulatu's Mood re-works a Mulatu jazz fusion composition from the early '90s into a new swinging Afro highlife arrangement. "I wanted to use West African styles within this version and try new ways of using the beautiful sound of the kora." Boogaloo and I Faram Gami I Faram reprise Mulatu classics with new, fuller scores and bonus digital track Derashe highlights the traditional diminishing scales of the Derashe people of Southern Ethiopia, a musical technique that would later feature in the classical compositions of Debussy and the jazz of Charlie Parker. "Many debate how this music developed but the Derashe have played these scales for centuries. It is an untold story."

Being You Is Great, I Wish I Could Be You More Often is the new album from Quelle Chris and is one of the most poignant, self aware, and hilarious rap albums in recent memory. Quelle assembled a versatile hip-hop Justice League, Roc Marciano, Homeboy Sandman, Denmark Vessey, Jean Grae, Elzhi, Cavalier, et. Al. Then there's the production, mostly handled by Quelle but aided by crucial assists from MNDSGN, Iman Omari, Chris Keyes, Swarvy, & Alchemist. The title comes from a real-life discussion about the difficulties of consistency. How each of us are subject to both our own bad spirits and bursts of inspiration, those unavoidable serotonin and dopamine peaks and valleys. Being You Is Great is an attempt to catalogue those moods. It's about learning to love, or at least recognise, the best and worse of one's self. It's about loneliness and comfort. Learning to hate love and learning to love hate.

Central Standard Time, the Topeka, KS native's second official Mello Music Group release, is a meditation on struggles new, old, and eternal. StikFiga's rhymes remain intricate yet accessible, the words interlocking to create fresh meanings. Every verse displays his hard-won honesty. Though the pains are personal, the moments are strikingly familiar. With production from venerated heavyweights like Nottz, Exile, Black Milk, and Apollo Brown, there is never a stale loop or drum pattern. Beats crafted to fry subwoofers are offset by those warm and poignant. L'Orange produced lead single 'Cold,' deftly straddles that divide. When he's not dismantling the unoriginal alone, StikFiga enlists indie luminaries Elzhi, Homeboy Sandman, and Quelle Chris. And on album closer 'The Git Down', he macks alongside Bay Area legend Rappin' 4-Tay. Ultimately Central Standard Time is a reminder that sharing our burdens helps others do the same. It's rap as therapy, the words written to move forward. Listen and do likewise. Struggle waits for no man.

New First Time On A 45 series from Mukatsuku which will focus on tracks which never made it to a 7 inch single in their own right. First up The Three Pieces with a sublime track taken from the 1975 Fantasy album Vibes Of Truth. On the flipside also from 1975 Johnny Hammond delivers the much sampled club favourite 'Tell Me What To Do' from the legendary 'Gears' album from Milestone which also gave us 'Shifting Gears', 'Los Conquistadores Chocolates' & 'Can't We Smile'. Two classics on a dinked friendly format. Limited pressing. Don't sleep !

Lotus Disco #Love#Hope#Desire combines twelve full length soulful disco and boogie tracks on one collection. Both introducing and closing the selection are the elusive group Suzy Q with tracks never previously on CD and the trademark sound of Lotus Disco, a DJ sensation from Vietnam currently building a name for himself internationally. Also for the first time on CD are the 12' disco mix of Breaking And Entering' by Dee Dee Sharp and the much sought after Kashif-penned rare boogie track Loveline' by Shawne Jackson. Among the classics here are Can't Fake The Feeling' by Geraldine Hunt (the extremely fresh sounding and hard to find Dub Mix), and disco legend Tom Moulton's mix of Sweet Dynamite' for Claudja Barry. Lotus Disco made his UK debut at Horse Meat Disco in 2015 and currently tours the world.

Growing up in Jamaica, young Rowland Abrahams loved dancing to James Brown so much that he earnt himself the nickname 'Papas' Got'. He later moved to Paris and in 1979 more or less single-handedly recorded the 'I Wanna Love' LP on the RGR label. Admittedly not an album with a heavy yield, the only pearl being the title track which Rocafort Records are releasing as a 12" with an exclusive Al Kent edit on the B side.

Inspired by the music of Fela Kuti and his Africa 70 project feat. drummer Tony Allenl, "The Devil Made Me Do It" is pure downtempo afro beat in its original version, the first remix here included, the "Invisible Cosmic Echoes", has a slower pace and is characterized - as the title suggests - by reverberations and space sound, while the "Invisible Astral Wave" is perfect for a DJ remix and has got a slightly accelerated pace, with an emphasis on the percussive / tribal element.

Arguably the most influential and charismatic rapper of the the last 10 years. Gucci Mane has become a cult figure and cultural phenomenon through his countless mixtapes, movie roles, and brushes with the law. Mama's Basement takes us back to the very beginning of Gucci's career, with some of the first known recordings from Wop. Gucci teamed with long term collaborator and legendary rap producer Zaytoven to lay down 12 tracks in his Mama's Basement. The tape was only released to the public last year just before Gucci's release from prison.
Omerta Inc. will be giving Guwop&Zaytoven the vinyl treatment with a very limited pressing.
