This seminal project in Lipp's catalog effortlessly moves between hip-hop, drum & bass, funk, techno and jazz. The 12' LP is reissued for a limited time by Detroit label Young Heavy Souls.

ATR is a one of a kind reggae collective based in Parkside Brooklyn. Founded by Scrillamatic and KG, at their core they are just group of friends who hang out in the park and sing, all day. The routine is simple, they meet up at their favorite hangout spot on the side of a lake, play beats off of a beat up but loud stereo, and belt out lyrics out into the air. Sometimes a crowd gathers but it's usually just a few like minded artists sharing their love for music. Natives of the west indies, but coming of age in Brooklyn, they have a very unique perspective on life and the world we live in. With subject matters varying from traditional roots medleys, smoked out ganja anthems to gangsta badman chants to heartfelt soulful ballads telling tales of the ghetto and more, they have a lot to say.

The new issue on Bicycle Music presented here will be available on an on-going basis. 'Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde' is the debut album from The Pharcyde. Released in late 1992, the album was hailed by critics and rap fans alike. Produced entirely by J-Swift with easily some of the tightest and most inventive beats of the era, 'Bizarre Ride' features only one guest appearance, provided by little known Los Angeles rapper Buckwheat (who would become known as 'Bucwheed' from The Wascals). Released during the dominant Gangsta Rap era of the West Coast, the music was described as 'refreshing' due to its playful, light-hearted humor and lush, jazzy production. Along with albums like 'To Whom it May Concern...' by Freestyle Fellowship, and 'I Wish My Brother George Was Here' by Del tha Funkee Homosapien, 'Bizarre Ride' helped establish a new alternative scene on the West Coast followed by artists such as Hieroglyphics, The Coup and Jurassic 5. The album featured four singles, all of which were accompanied by music videos. The group's debut single, 'Ya Mama', originally released in 1991, was the song that landed the group their record deal, but it failed to reach any Billboard singles chart. Their first major exposure came with the release of the album's second single, 'Passing Me By'. The song became the group's biggest crossover hit and is now considered a classic Hip Hop single. The album's third single, '4 Better or 4 Worse', was released in mid-1993 and featured the stoner song 'Pack the Pipe' and the throwback track 'Return of the B-Boy' as its B-Side. The final single, the SlimKid solo track 'Otha Fish', was released in late 1993. The album was certified gold in 1996, and it's stature has only grown since with the release constantly appearing on Best Of lists such as the 100 Best Rap albums by The Source, Top 100 Favorite Records of The 90s by Pitchfork and Rolling Stone's Top 25 Hip Hop Albums as listed by Chris Rock.

Markey Funk resurrects his boutique 7" imprint Delights with the first release in 3 years. This record is also a farewell gesture of sorts to the parent label Audio Montage, featuring Markey's remixes for two of the label's artists - Radio Trip (the founders of AM) and Left - for the first time on vinyl.Side A is a floor-filling freakout groover, perviously available digitally via Jalapeno Records. Experienced crate diggers are no doubt familiar with New Birth, the 17-piece funk ensemble sampled on classic hip-hop records by Wu-Tang Clan, De La Soul, Junior M.A.F.I.A., Black Sheep, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, and many more. The genesis of New Birth can be traced back to The Nite-Liters, a Louisville-based instrumental outfit. Founded in 1963 by Motown songwriter/producer Harvey Fuqua and saxophonist Tony Churchill, The Nite-Liters released a handful of albums in the early 70s, scoring a few minor hits and perfecting the sound that would power New Birth to further success as the decade progressed. While much of the The Nite Liters' early material has been overlooked, their self-titled debut album is worth revisiting. Originally released on RCA Records in 1970, The Nite Liters is a raw, soulful masterpiece that has been sampled by KMD, Ghostface Killah and others. This historic release is now back on print on limited-edition Nite Lite' colored vinyl. Order now while supplies last.

This third and last volume offers another fresh choice of tracks exploring the sounds of Turkey in the 1960s and 1970s. As previous volumes have shown, these sounds cannot be confined stylistically or geographically, as their blending of Western and Turkish elements and the variety of styles thrown into the mix reach beyond the borders of the Turkish republic. Here we have a Turkish-Armenian cut by Yorgantz, as well as a Greek-Turkish track by Giannis Floriniotis, offering prime examples of Turkish pop-rock music, itself a hybrid of local and global sounds, interwoven with other musical styles.

The compilation presents a wide selection of music for dancing and listening purposes, ranging from folk to funk and from oriental rock 'n' roll to deep psychedelic. Among other treats, it boasts flow-oriented pop by Nese Karaböcek and Esmeray, jazzy harmonies by Figen Han, experimental rock by O¨nder Bali 4, fluffy folk by Modern Folk Üçlüsü, brass loaded funk by Ali Kocatepe, and Anatolian rock by Beyaz Kelebekler, Fikret Hakan, and Mehmet Peku¨n.

Since the last two years FloFilz played in the first league of european beat-producers. With his smooth jazz samples he catches them all: his 46.000 (!) Soundcloud-Fans, the "Beatgeeks" from Berlin, the "Rapkids" from the Splash Festival and the Boiler Room in London. With "Cenário" FloFilz continues his musically city-trip, which started in Paris with "Metronom" in 2014. For his new album he travelled with the photographer Robert Winter to Lisbon. The impressions from the trip FloFilz put into 16 new tracks, on two of them he gets support by jazzsinger Olivia Wendlandt (Relaén).

Jammz came up studying grime, and in 2016 finds himself at the forefront of it. Born and bred in East London, Jammz started to make a name for himself on London's radio circuit in 2014 and 2015, appearing regularly on Rinse FM, Radar Radio, NTS, Mode FM and BBC 1xtra and teaming up with both established DJs like Slimzee, Spooky, Bok Bok and Spyro and newcomers like Moleskin. His Hit Then Run EP became a cult classic: the title track was played regularly on BBC Radio 1Xtra and Noisey's #3 grime track of 2015, and the remix was Sian Anderson's #1 remix of the week six weeks on the spin. Subsequent singles 'Final Warning' and 'London Living' further established Jammz as one of grime's best new hit-makers, while his live reputation is also quickly on the rise: he's played Glastonbury, Eskimo Dance, Outlook, Night Slugs and Bestival, has headlined FWD>> and in March 2016 was the support act on Kano's UK tour. Jammz has been supported heavily by Fader, Noisey, FACT, GQ, Mixmag, SBTV, MTV and more, and featured on the front cover of the Observer Music's British MCs special. Following an instrumental 12' which sold out in four days, Warrior is the second EP on Jammz's I Am Grime label. Intense and frustrated, it encapsulates life in London in 2016 and marks Jammz's most complete and considered release to date. Fremantle seven piece hip hop/jazz outfit Koi Child has announced the release of their debut self-titled album through Pilerats Records. Produced by Kevin Parker the album features the Beats1 & triple j played single Black Panda Koi Child unveiled new single 1-5-9. The buttery, chill-as-you-like cut is the band's second official single off the album. From the elongated horn-based procession that carries this introspective lyrical tale into a psych-tinged euphoria, to the rolling snare introduction, listeners are hooked into the exceptionally realised musical world of Koi Child.

Koi Child recorded their debut recordat Mangebong, on an island south of Perth. Featuring 14 tracks filled withwarm dubby chords, wandering bass lines, crunching drums and masterful lyricism, it doesn't take long for Koi Child to usher us deep into their own brand of magical hypnosis.

"We recorded the album in a little house on an island which included a nerve wracking river crossing on a boat, with a large amount of loaned recording gear. The shack-turned-recording studio made for a really nice vibe: swimming in the river, recording vocals in the kitchen, sinking an ungodly amount of tinnies and encounters with giant weirdo spiders.' says Tom Kenny (keys) of the recording experience.

Tom adds, "Kevin taught us so much about production and songwriting. His mixing brought so much life and glow to tracks we'd heard a thousand times. We'll be forever indebted to him for being so generous with his time, creativity and talent... what a bloke.'

Koi Child finished off 2015 performing as special guests for Tame Impala on their Australian tour and being announced as a Spotify Spotlight feature artist for 2016.

Way back in 1981, two musicians got together to make a record. Mike Collins played guitar and had just bought a Roland CR78 - the first programmable drum machine. Keith O'Connell played Fender Rhodes piano and Prophet 5 synthesizer. Excited about the quirky and unusual instrumental track they'd composed, when the duo entered London's Utopia Studios to finish off their creation, neither could have predicted what was to follow... Now viewed by many as one of the most influential early electronic dance records, 'Rude Movements' was swiftly picked up on by David Mancuso, who used it to devastating effect at his infamous 'Loft Parties', in turn introducing it to Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles, David Morales and Kenny Dope, a group of young DJs who would go on to write the blueprint for dance music as we know it. In the more than 35 years since its release, 'Rude Movements' has continued to inspire and excite, sampled by The Bucketheads' classic House track 'Whew!' (featured on recent BBE compilation '20 years of Henry Street Records') and listed by a veritable 'who's who' of dance music's elite as an all-time favourite. Rare and much sought-after on vinyl, BBE are happy to announce the release of a fully remastered version of 'Rude Movements' presented alongside the original demo version 'Raw Movements', plus three other versions of the iconic track. Also included on the vinyl package are the Afrika Bambaata inspired 'Street Beat' and 808/MiniMoog workout 'Palace Strut', as well as three other 80s SunPalace compositions. CD and digital versions expand the catalogue still further, with more experimental SunPalace magic. Timeless original, quirky and unique, these recordings are set to inspire yet another generation of DJs, producers and music fans.

Reggae was born in Jamaica, but since Bob Marley died, a new prophet was discovered in Africa - Alpha Blondy. He is one of the very few artists of the genre known worldwide (since his first international hit «Brigadier Sabari»).

Alpha Blondy, the superstar reggae man from Ivory Coast, should need no introduction. He has been active on the scene since the eighties, a real grower of hits turned classics, from Brigadier Sabary' to Jérusalem', not forgetting Afriki' and Apartheid Is Nazism'. And yet, in spite of his status of Commander of the African Groove, Alpha reinvents himself album after album. He has always steered clear of the pitfalls of formatting and tried to bring in something new to the mix. As was to be expected, his sixteenth studio album, Mystic Power, is no exception to the rule.

Since his first success in the eighties with the panafrican hit « Opération Coup De Poing (Brigadier Sabari) », Alpha Blondy is used to provide quality reggae music to his fans. And it is the case once again with Positive Energy, a true masterpiece. « Really, it's the album of the featurings! » says Alpha to describe this collection of twelve new songs.
