The single also made it onto Keb Darge's Deep Funk lp. Now Super Disco Edits has dug deep again, and unearthed some killer tracks by the band. Brass Horizon were heavily into the Bay Area sound of the mid 70's and especially Tower of Power. The first recording to come to light from these dusty sessions is this one off studio mic take, introducing the band. eine Riege Londons vielversprechendster MCs, Songwriter, Mixer und Sound-Engineers neun Monate ins
Studio zurück und kreierte dort mit "New Gen" ein ehrliches, kreatives und frisches Album, das den

Not only did he release a series of ground breaking albums, he toured frequently, produced albums and wrote songs for many other artists, and recorded hundreds of songs that still lie unreleased in his vaults. With each album he released, Prince has shown remarkable stylistic growth and musical diversity, constantly experimenting with different sounds, textures, and genres. Occasionally, his music can be maddeningly inconsistent because of this eclecticism, but his experiments frequently succeed, no other contemporary artist can blend so many diverse styles into a cohesive whole.

Alogte Oho is the number one Frafra gospel artist from within the explosive music scene of Bolgatanga in Northern Ghana. His international debut was the 2014 single Zota Yinne (Philophon PH45002), which has already become a collectors item. Alogte Oho is, as always, accompanied by his powerful female choir, the Sounds of Joy, comprised of Lizy, Patricia and Florence - all fantastic gospel performers in their own rights. The A-side, Mam Yinne Wa, is pure future gospel: a swinging rhythm with pumping synth bass and playful horns that weave around the eulogising choir of the group. As a highlight, the chasing flute solo of Free Jazz great Sabir Mateen (Cecile Taylor, Sunny Murray, Hamid Drake) catapults you into another dimension! On the B-side, Yu Ya Yumma, the rhythm section is driven by reggae master Josie Coppola on drums and gives a solid foundation for the brilliant performance of the singers. The title means: let's sing a song. And that is exactly what the group is doing.

Recorded in 2006 and shelved until today -All Over Thereorbits the outer leftfield regions of known hip-hop galaxies. MC A's double, triple, quadruple tracked vocals are thrown around the mic like a nipponDanny Brownriding Aquadab's "Jan JelinekmeetsTimbaland" productions (his words).

Composed and resampled entirely on MPC 1000 and Kaoss pad - Aquadab claims most tracks were made in sub-2 hour improvised sessions. MC A's vox exist to us only as texture and punctuation -we're assured the lyrics are too abstract to translate(English titles have been provided for iTunes purposes).

The results are as unique as the artists involved are generally unknown. Aquadab has scored a lone remix on Japanese imprintAun Muteand MC A can be found on a few tracks by local hip-hop acts likeDJ Motive. Aquadab lives in Osaka - home to Bokeh alumni DJ Ground and Kabamix. MC A hails from Gifu, widely known as the home of Japan's master cormorant fishermen.

BKV008 is the final release from Bokeh Versions' first year of operations. 6 releases are confirmed for 2017: one cosmic dub reissue LP, one streetwear meets library tracks hookup, one 90s steppas remix 12", one Japanese exotica 7", one future roots dancefloor set and the next genesis of glacial dancehall.

High Focus label-head Fliptrix returns to the essence of Hip Hop with a confident boom bap album, Patterns Of Escapism, his 6th LP entirely produced by the highly regarded Illinformed.

Our official first time full lenght vinyl release of the James Walsh Gypsy Band album I've got the feeling has been a huge success and are now sold out from the label. As an answer to the demand, we have now pressed a small run of 7" single for the 45 collectors and Dj's. Limited run of 500 only. The 45 is special designed på Hans Jørgen Wærner who also did the original cover art.

Side A: The fantastic uptempo AOR Modern Soul track, I've Got The Feeling was an easy choice as the A side. Smooth soulful sounds for the dancefloor or travelling along the coust of California. The track was also featured on the fantastic Americana - Rock Your Soul on BBE Records.

Side B: Caves of Altamira is a fantastic mid tempo cover of the Steely Dan track. Funky, smooth soulful version with the Tower of Power horns make this as a runner up of the best version of the track.

The James Walsh Gypsy Band is kind of the outfit to go to if you're looking for some blue-eyed soul but, just like Ned Doheny and his sublime reissue on Numero, the band never fully came out of its shell and they were limited to just one album on RCA Victor, 1998's self-tiled LP...until now. I've Got The Feelin' was recorded a year later, in 1979, at the legendary Muscle Shoal Studios, but it never made it out onto the shelves apart from a seriously limited CDR run. Norway's Preservation has thankfully done the right thing by pressing it up on vinyl, and the opening title track is as just as wonderful as the first time we heard - a true soul masterpiece with a clear LA influence. "Looks Like You Got Down In Love" is a funkier, more soulful version of Credence at their deepest, while other highlights include the supremely majestic "It's Over Now", and the tear-jerking "Alabama Eyes". It's a road album, the sort you want to really take in properly. Recommended.

It's been a while since JetTricks 2012 album "Better Than Real Life", but Paul Elliott & Jamie Lawrence haven't been sitting around wasting time..., Jamie has been touring with various blues, soul and funk outfits including The Heliocentrics (Strut Records) and Paul has been laying down percussive grooves for all manner of acts.

The pair also wrote, recorded and took to the road heating up the dance floors of the best clubs and festivals the UK has to offer to support the debut album release of their very own psychedelic-afro-funk band Hot Border Special ("Hot Border Special", Legère Recordings 2015). With their latest album 'Ten Out Of The Box" JetTricks return to their laidback, lo-fi, rootsy and soulful beginnings with a collection of ten covers versions of tracks straight out of their record collections!

REPRESS ALERT: With two massive reissues from Suns of Arqa and Jaki Whitren under their belts, the fledging label Emotional Rescue have come up with the goods once again, with this remastered reissue of incredibly rare 70s psyche-funk from Bob Chance. Two versions are included: the original 7" version, driven along by a razor-sharp guitar riff and sweetly lamenting lyrics, topped off with weird cosmic synths and galloping rhythm. However, the real gem is the edit entitled "Wild It's Broken" which sharpens the focus of the guitar and adds some serious kick to the drums to create a beefy counterpart to the new age original.

Shipwrec are opening a new style chapter with Coco Bryce. Dub, jungle, skwee and breakbeat come together to form the signature sound of the Myor label boss. Released three years after Stoned Raiders (MOVLP1727), Latino hip hop group Cypress Hill returned in 2004 with their seventh studio album Till Death Do Us Part. On this album they flirt with reggae, particularly on What's Your Number' sampling The Clash's The Guns Of Brixton' plus Ganja Bus' featuring vocals from Damian Marley. Latin Thugs' is a characteristic Cypress Hill latin-mariachi rap and B-Real rocks with a clever cover of the Beastie Boys' Paul Revere' retitled Busted In The Hood'.

Awarded with 4 stars out of 5 by Rolling Stone Magazine, Till Death Do Us Part reached #21 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart and #23 an the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.

Virginia-born singer/songwriter Nicole Wray has everything you'd want in a singer: an infectious Jackson-5-family-member flare, a range like Aretha's, and a church upbringing that's brought a pure, healing texture to her voice. But the struggle she's been through has made her more than a singer. Nicole Wray is an artist. When talking about Queen Alone, her first solo album in some time, Nicole explains, It's a reflection of my soul. It's who I am today.' And aptly so. Nicole is writing and singing songs about her life. And yet to even start to know her soul, you have to go back to the beginning. Growing up in Portsmouth was tough at times for Nicole. However, at the age of fifteen, life opened up quickly when Missy Elliot paid a visit to Nicole's family home to audition her on the spot. Missy was there on the rumored strength and quality of her voice. Instantly blowing her away, she signed and left with Missy that night. Two years later, at age 17, she had a hit gold single off a solid debut album (Make It Hot). Suddenly she was part of a team that included late '90s R&B and rap royalty: Missy, Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Playa, Timbaland and Magoo. She made it, and fast. However, as rapidly as she achieved success, Nicole then found herself needing to re-make it. By late 2001, her time with Missy and company had run its course. They amicably parted ways and Nicole, once on top of the R&B world, was unsure of what was next. It was a very low, but important, point in her life. While neck-deep in this struggle, Damon Dash and Roc-A-Fella Records called. They signed an album deal and by 2004, in what was starting to be a pattern, just as things were looking up Roc-A-Fella suddenly (famously) split. Nicole found herself in a familiar situation. In 2013, Nicole paired up with London vocalist Terri Walker and released the album Lady. Once again, Nicole was tested. Terri parted ways with the group to pursue her own projects shortly after the album's release. Fast forward to now-the transformation from singer-for-hire to pure artist is evident in this new full-length solo release, Queen Alone. The record was written and recorded in 10 days at the legendary Diamond Mine Studios, in Queens NY with Leon Michels and Tom Brenneck handling production. Nicole says she is Singing out loud now-singing from the stomach.' Back in 1998 she was coached how to sing, and told to stay in a pocket that never let her show her range, power, and passion. Today, after stutter-stepping in and out of the industry, there is a new soul and substance to her songs-all of it from her life. They Don't Hang Around", tells the story of her post Roc-a-Fella days, Guilty", is about her brother's incarceration, Make Me Over" tells the relatable story of being broke with expensive taste, and 'Let It Go', a perfect way to end the record, is about the simple act of letting go and moving on. Almost echoing her new record, Nicole says, You have to go through something for it to be real.' She has been living with one foot in fame and the other in real life. The result is clear: she's feeling something real in her music again. And it's hard for us as listeners not to follow suit.

The first side here is an amazing Mohawkestra arrangement of Cream's monumental I Feel Free. Packed full of blazing Organ and Guitar over the super tight rhythm section and arranged into a concise 3 minute Funk workout this is sure to be as well received as the previous single.

The debut single featured 2 superb covers but for the follow up a Mohawkestra original entitled Growler is included on the flipside which demonstrates not only the incredible musicianship of the band but also their own writing and offers a glimpse at what is in store for future releases from one of the UK's finest current live bands.

Graciously welcoming the second full-length lp from Philadelphia's Jesse Dewlow, recording under the moniker People Skills. The follow-up to 2014's Siltbreeze set Tricephalic Head. Ten sunken songs, derisively adorned with rhythm and rudimentary dub effects. Bedroom elegies for the lost and irretrievable, last-ditch spells for transformation and renewal. Thurston Moore and Byron Coley likened the previous record to South Island NZ pop played inside of an armored car', and that description holds here: underneath the hoods of these wracked and weather-beaten recordings are melodies of disarming beauty and optimism, bordering on the (wilfully) mawkish, bubblegum ground underfoot. Each piece as time-stopping and evocative as an old photograph of someone who used to mean something. Whether speaking through stately keyboard pastorals ('Mint Julep'), rat-arsed rock 'n roll slur ('89¢ Public Render') or sulphurous aggro-electronics (the two-part title track),Gunshots At Crestridge exposes, then seeks to redeem, all our tiny acts of self-sabotage, all our sins against time. Favorite Recordings presents this new official album reissue of The Parker Brothers: Maybe one of the best Blue-Eyed-Soul/Modern-Soul private-press albums you can imagine, surprisingly highly unknown and underrated.

Produced in 1981 by George P Grexa and released in a private-press version on his label Crown Vetch Enterprises, this album is filled with memorable material from the first note to the last, mixing Modern-Soul, Boogie, cross-over Jazz and Rock elements, for a result reminiscent of the WestCoast music' golden years, however being recorded in Pittsburgh.

As one of the longtime favorite collectable piece for Charles Maurice, it's a real honor and proud for Favorite Recordings, to finally officially reissue it from the original master tapes and for the first time on vinyl.

"Milano Marittima Time Of The Season" is a compilation double CD dedicated to the most refined palates, a perfect mix of gentle and soothing sounds for two hours of "easy listening" pure. We find jazz sounds in international songs here re-proposed with a new arrangement, many Italian songs revisited in key lounge retracing vintage atmosphere of the past. A product for true connoisseurs and absolute must for collectors and fans of high-class music.
