Very limited one-off 7-inch to accompany DJ Muro's I Love 45s CD series. Three beat-crazy funk edits, the first a reworking of The Classitors' instrumental uptempo boogaloo monster 'Gettin T'Gether Man.' Tracklist: Gettin "T" Gether Man; Food Stamp; Grazin' In The Grass.

Hot on the heels of his successful autumnal tour of Europe, the antipodean beatsmith and low-riding soul-brother, Inkswel, arrives on the eighth 12 from Burek Records. Considering Inkswel's been working with people like Merwyn from Virgo Four, Gifted & Blessed and Linkwood for the third release on his own Hot Shot Sounds imprint, we weren't surprised when he told us about the recent collaboration he'd had with Dave Aju. Naturally we were keen to get this out into the world, complementing it with great remixes and additional tracks from Inkswel. The A-side comprises three funkadelicious, shape-throwing, pop-locking slices featuring the talents of San Fran's Dave Aju, Melbourne's Cazeaux O.S.L.O, Christchurch's Isaac Aesili and Adelaide's Charli James. They wear their shared love for hiphop on their sleeves, replicating old school sampling techniques and twinning them with a feel for modernity. The open kicks and sax thrills that begin 'No More Suckas' cement syrupy pads and swirling keys as Dave Aju rhymes about that classic conundrum, being given the chance for a night of intimate relations. Rotascoping blips and pads combined with fat bass work underpin the conscious spoken word poetry of 'Mind Yours', and 'Saturated' closes the side with razor-sharp claps, wonky chords and 808 cowbells laying the foundation for vocal call and responses. In classic turntablist style the bonus beat track 'Oishi Stylus' is also included, evoking the Pacific Rim's interconnectivity with its Nipponese flavours cut over solid beats. This ain't hip-house, it's hiphop-house.

"My Certainty" is the third album by The Impellers. With their previous releases "Robot Legs /Freestyle) and "This Is Not A Drill" /Legère/Mocambo) the band from Brighton have established themselves as a tight and authentic raw funk unit. With "My Certainty" the band - featuring vocalist Clair Witcher and composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Glenn Fallows - explore fresh territory. "We wanted this album to be different to other material we've produced, but still keeping the big and heavy sound which people have liked about us. There's a couple of reasons why we hope this album will surprise people," Clair Witcher explains.

With "My Certainty" The Impellers have re-invented their sound. "We were kind of recognisable but never truly bedded in and this is a significant change for album three. The current line-up has been together for over two years and we were so excited when rehearsing for the recording, it finally feels like it has all fallen into place," Glenn Fallows recalls from the "My Certainty" sessions. "We've used different musical styles which match the stories and sentiments in each of the songs. There's a couple of soulful ballads, some acoustic folky soul, a bit of R&B-inspired stuff. Having said that, there's a load of influences from individual band members too, which seem to bleed through into the overall sound." Clair Witcher adds: "For me as a vocalist, it was a great challenge to try and mirror the sentiments of the song and musicianship with my vocals. We're very pleased with how the album came together and we hope people agree that it's by far our strongest work yet

Mukatsuku dig deep in the crates for the inaugural volume of their new Lost Soul & Funk Gems vinyl only series which casts it's net across the globe to uncover some lesser known nuggets. Leading the way is the under played boogie funk soul disco masterpiece, ''You Gotta Let Go '' from Australian songstress Marcia Hines, originally released on her 1975 album Marcia Shines on Wizard Records. It's super rare on a 45 and copies on separate Australian & Italian only 45's fetch several hundred pounds when you can find a copy. On the flip a lesser know soul masterpiece of the much covered anthem "You Keep Me From Hanging On'' from US legendary performer Jackie Wilson. Tingles down the spine aplenty as Jackie's superb vocals nail this bonafide classic underpinned by a great big band arrangement and backing vocals. As far as we know this is the first time this version has ever been available as a single in its' own right

Ernest Mosley's - 'Stubborn Heart' is solid gold Northern Soul. A funky edged R&B dancer at its finest. Interesting changes, slamming vocal and precision timing has guaranteed enduring popularity from the days of the Wigan Casino through it's home at the Blackpool Mecca in the Mid 70's, to the modern day European soul scene. Surprisingly apart from the £1000+ original pressing the only pressing that exists is a ropey northern soul 'look alike' bootleg from the mid 70s so when offered the chance to do it right we jumped at the chance.

Don't sleep on the flip 'Keep On Loving Me' either, while more formulaic than the 'famous' A side it's at the top of its class, that drummer is having a great day. Why was this 45 not a hit

Athens of the North are proud to presentRenee Geyer's modern soul masterpiece 'Be There In The Morning'. Recorded in the USA early 1977 but only released as a single in Australia how this was not a worldwide hit is beyond us. On the flip we have the impossibly rare 1976 version recorded in Australia before Renee headed to the USA. Timmion Cutting Laboratory did the lathe worksoit's cut loud and deep, sounds amazing, an essential 45 for disco or modern soul heads.

Two Raucous Rare R&B / Belgian Popcorn versions of the classic Luther Dixon penned 'Traveling Stranger'. Ann Leonardo belts out her obscure R&B version which was originally released Capitol in 1957! On the flip the stripped down but no less kinetic Bill Johnson Quintet from the Baton Label. Remastered to sound better than their originals , both unique, both brilliant, the perfect 45.

In 2009 we started up Pink Flamingo Entertainment as a sub label of Another WorldEntertainment. It's aim was to release vintage and quality porn on DVD and VOD, as a counterpart to the cold and mechanical commercial porn of the mainstream. The first release was Ole Ege's '»Pornografi' (1971), which we put out in 2009. Ole Ege was one of the pioneers of Danish porn, working from the period leading up to the legalisation of pornography in Denmark in 1969 and up until a few years after that. '»Pornografi' had previously been released on VHS and appears as a feature film, but it is in fact a collection of short films that Ole Ege had made for the blooming 8mm market at the time.

The enduring success of Incognito is one of the great stories of UK music during the last 30 years. Look at the recent history of soulful UK
artists and you will find any number of short-lived acts that have achieved pop success. Narrow the list to those that have created a uniquely
British sound and that have endured as a global phenomenon on their own terms and the list becomes short. Besides The Brand New
Heavies and Matt Bianco, Incognito is one of the few bands that succeeded to create such a unique sound. Incognito has, thanks to 'Mr .
Incognito' Jean-Paul Maunick (aka Bluey), developed from one of the first to the most important acid jazz projects with roots in the 1970s
jazz/funk/fusion world.
During the 30 year career Incognito has had hit singles all along the way - 'Always There' and 'Don't You Worry 'Bout A Thing' being two of
the biggest. The band performed at all major festivals from Montreux via Monterey to North Sea Jazz and back. Bluey has over the years also
worked as a producer for other artists including George Benson, Philip Bailey, Maxi Priest and Brenda Russell amongst others. I
Now, in their 35th anniversary year, it's time for Incognito's 16th studio album - Amplified Soul!

This is the 16th studio album of Incognito, consists of 16 new recordings soaked in soul, coated in jazz with more than a twist of funk and
dance. Or as Bluey puts it: 'This is a labour of love, a gift to those who have supported us over the years'.
Recorded and mixed at the legendary Livingston Studio in North London (where The Buena Vista Social Club's eponymous multi million
selling first album was mixed and also Björk's 1993 debut album recorded and mixed), this album features singers Tony Momrelle, Vanessa
Haynes and new addition Katie Leone who provide some of the best vocal performances ever recorded by the band. They are joined by
legendary singer songwriter Carleen Anderson and Connecticut born funkstress Deborah Bond and the return one of the Incognito fans
favourite Imaani, with the addition of a totally fresh voice on the scene in the form of the soulful 22 year old Australian debutant Chiara
Hunter .
Guitarist, main producer and band leader Bluey once again leads his tight rhythm section of Francis Hylton on bass, Matt Cooper on
keyboards, Francesco Mendolia on drums and the young percussion sensation Joao Caetano to create a bed of soulful funky irresistible
grooves that are punctuated by the trademark Incognito horns. At times on this album the band navigates towards a darker sound than on
their previous works offering the listener a new adventure with wonderfully crafted songs wrapped in warm tones. At other times they just
get joyously funky! There are guest performances by original Jamiroquai drummer Nick Van Gelder on two cuts, the awesome alto
saxophonist Nigel Hitchcock, synthesizer wizard Ski Oakenfull, Elements Of Life percussionist Roberto Quintero, and Incognito regular
contributor Richard Bull and many more.
From the plaintive opening number 'Amplify My Soul' you get echoes of a classic era that could be easily associated with Marvin Gaye or
Stevie's offerings from the 70's, to the bubbly, bouncy, catchy number that is immediate and infectious 'Hats (Make Me Wanna Holler)', the
album unites all of Incognito's best character traits. If ever Incognito had a festival crowd anthem, then 'Hands Up If You Wanna Be Loved' is

Deliciously sophisticated Cameroonian funk, originally issued in 1981 by Phonodisk, the most ambitious Nigerian label at that time. Producer Tony Essien was on the lookout for a successor to Kris Okotie, who had abruptly defected to EMI, and the music is devil-may-care brilliant, with the Mighty Flames band bringing nuff buff Roy Ayers, Kool And The Gang and Chic to the party.

Sisyphus is the new name for the collaboration between Serengeti, Son Lux, and Sufjan Stevens (formally s/s/s), whose new project under this moniker is a self-titled album partly inspired by the art of Jim Hodges, and commissioned by the Walker Art Center and The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra's Liquid Music series in Minneapolis/Saint Paul. Liquid Music and the Walker Art Center will present a retrospective of Jim Hodge's work alongside a listening party of the new album in February, where fifty limited edition copies of the vinyl will be available for purchase. Asthmatic Kitty Records and Joyful Noise Recordings will release the record widely on March 17th, 2014. 'Take the romantic stings and catchy choruses from the Illinois era, throw in some crazed electronic percussion, melted synths, rapped verses, and autotuned vocals, and stir.' - Beats Per Minute....

Somewhere Down The Line' has been a huge mod / R&B essential spin for many years now, and it's not hard to see why. With it's bluesy harmonica and guitar riff married up to a full, swinging horn section, the production perfectly encapsulates the developing early 60s sound, where blues and R&B eventually gave way to soul. Little Johnny Taylor was the perfect exponent of this sound too, a singer who came of adult age himself in the early 60s, obviously inspired by the blues sounds of his early childhood, but contemporary to the singers who were inspiring the new genre shift at the time. The b-side 'What You Need Is A Ball' is perhaps closer still to a pure soul sound, but still with that earthy blues backbone and groove which proves so tough to stay still to.

The stunning collabo between the Mighty Mocambos and hiphop-legend Afrika Bambaataa goes into the 2nd round. For the joy of all b-girls and b-boys, the Godfather of Hip-Hop and today's best heavy funk band present their banging new anthem. 'It's The Music' brings the sound of early hiphop livebands into present time, with the Mocambos showcasing their skills on a discofied breakdance beat, only topped by the vocal authorities of the Amen-Ra Of Universal Hip-Hop Culture and fellow Zulu Nation members Charlie Funk (aka Afrika Islam), Hektek and Deejay Snoop, the latter providing a trademark talkbox feature. The flip side contains an exclusive instrumental ready to smash dancefloors on its own.

Low-Fi Classics is a love letter to that scratched, dusty old mix tape that you just couldn't let go; a

London-based synth-funk collective Jungle reveal their new single 'Busy Earnin''. The track, their first since signing to XL Recordings, follows on from 2013's acclaimed 'Platoon' and 'The Heat' singles.
Based around a core musical duo known simply as 'J' and 'T', who expand to a thrilling seven piece live band, Jungle make mesmeric, modern soul that's unmistakably born in the UK but with true global appeal (their 'Platoon' video has already racked up more than 4 million views).
Jungle will be performing live throughout March. With almost all their UK shows sold out, including their biggest headline date yet at London's Village Underground and shows with Haim, the band have just announced an even bigger UK headline show, this time at London's 1000-capacity Oval Space in May.
