Drawing from the leftfield avant-pop of Arthur Russell and Talking Heads, progressive disco of Nile Rodgers and contemporary ambient electronica, Retiree channel these influences through their own pervasive aura of rum-drunk antipodean sunshine. The result is music that is in equal parts lush, thoughtful melody and meditative tropical rhythm.

The EP sees joint international release from Peckham label Rhythm Section International who released the instant classic debut of Al Dobson Jr, and were nominated for label of the year at Gilles Peterson's 2015 worldwide awards, as well as purveyors of southern hemisphere groove-driven underground pop, Plastic World (GL, Savoir).

Seine erklärten Vorbilder von Madlib über Aphroe bis Kool Keith mögen nie die großen Hallen gefüllt und Unmengen von Platten verkauft haben - Marsimoto macht es jetzt eben stellvertretend für sie.. Mit seinem "Stay weird, stay different"-Slogan hatte Oscar-Gewinner Graham Moore auf der diesjährigen Verleihung das Publikum zu Tränen gerührt. Marsimoto setzt diese Maxime in die Tat um und erreicht damit trotzdem mehr Menschen als bemühte Rap-Studenten mit ausgeklügeltem Marketing-Plan.

Monie Love - A certified member of Hip Hop history already, this spitfire Emcee originally from London, England is well respected, well connected and well received. Monie Love is a two time Grammy Award nominee and her contribution in Heresy is only a part in the ongoing and growing role she continues to play in Hip-Hop.

MyVerse - A product of a Puerto Rican and Panamanian upbringing, Natalia or MyVerse started as a poet and writer. A native of Orlando, Florida and a skilled wordsmith from the very beginning, she found that her talent for writing and performing was best showcased when fused together in the world changing art form known as Hip- Hop.
Together these ladies are a voice for the voiceless, a well-mixed combination of strength and femininity. In Heresy, they share their stories - and represent for women everywhere.

Pery La Rock is the name given to I.N.T. by Charlie Ahearn, the director of 'Wildstyle'. He gave him this oldschool hiphop name after he heard how I.N.T. remixed the moviescore of 'Wildstyle' in 2009. This seven track EP is a diverse and unique record in the hiphop/soul spectrum with dreamy vocals from singers like Steve Hartley and Sasha Vee and some proper brag n boast raps from the Detroit legend: Guilty Simpson. PAN digs into the archives of WordSound label founder Skiz Fernando Jr. (a.k.a. Spectre)
to reissue his 1998 experimental hip-hop mixture, Ruff Kutz, originally released as an
extremely limited edition cassette.
The early '90s witnessed a spike in mutant strains of future dub. In Bristol, trip-hop and
jungle were on the rise, in Manhattan it was noise and breakbeat. But in Brooklyn, hip-hop
experimentation was gaining momentum, led by Skiz's independent label WordSound.
With support from Bill Laswell, WordSound charted the experimental edge of hip-hop and
dub, taking equal inspiration from Bronx Rap and Jamaican Roots music as they pioneered
a lo-fi sound both primal and futuristic. By the turn of the decade, the combination of dub,
ambient, and hip hop aesthetics had been baptized by The Wire magazine as Illbient—a
short-lived classification now being exhumed in the form of Spectre's obscure mixtape,
Ruff Kutz.
Ruff Kutz revisits the years between 1994-98, a formative era for WordSound and
experimen- tal beats in general. The original cassette, according to Skiz, was comprised
of alternative mixes, obscure beats, and unreleased tracks and edits. Unsigned material
from Dubadelic (supergroup of Bill Laswell, Ted Parsons, DXT, and others), rapper
Sensational, Kevin 'The Bug' Martin's Techno Animal project, Professor Shehab as his
lyrical alter-ego Psycho Priest, Djini Brown, Mr. Dead of the Metabolics, Doc Israel, Scotty
Hard, and Slotek all feature throughout this vinyl reissue, fully mastered for the first time
from the original DAT tapes in their original sequence.

EDO. G is back in 2015 with a new project entirely produced by Street Wyze, the newly signed duet of beatmakers on
EFFISCIENZ.
On the RAP side, as Boston's most iconic rapper, EDO. G evolves on the tracks with his distinctive flow and one of a kind
tone of voice.
Even though this album might seem concise, it remains wide when it comes to the various themes broached.
Sometimes deep sound like on "G-Lo ( R.I.P. )", sometimes more personal on "Sorta Way" but always penetrating, Edo has
that capacity to touch the audience emotionally by the diversity of his lyrics or every simple nuance of his voice.

The Estate of James Yancey revived J Dilla's Pay Jay Productions as a functioning imprint and announced its release of Dilla's long lost vocal album, The Diary. But before that full-length is issued, Pay Jay now announces the final single to be released from the project. It's a classic in every way. This single of Dilla's anthem was originally released as a standard 12'. That vinyl is now rare and out of print. On the Pay Jay issue, both the vocal and instrumental are sourced directly from mix-downs that Dilla himself created.

This limited edition badge-shaped picture disc single features Jeff Jank's ironic take on Dilla's message. The vinyl comes in a custom-made pocket inserted into a Japanese-style, resealable clear plastic sleeve well suited for the collectible this release is destined to be.

'Natureboy' marks the start of a new chapter for London-based musician Dario Rojo Guerra, pka Flako. It is the first full iterance of a new musical identity that has been bubbling under the surface since he fully moved away from MPC-produced, sample-based music with 2012's 'Eclosure' EP.
Recorded in a few short months in 2014, 'Natureboy' retains the influence of South Amercian soul, folk and cumbia he absorbed as a child growing up with German and Chilean parentage. Nevertheless, it's also an album fully created with live instrumentation, synthesizers and vocals, a fresh body of work primarily exploring his interest in the natural world. ‚I'm not religious', Guerra explains. 'Nature is the only thing I believe in. The sun and water are the two things that I find worth worshipping. There's
nothing without the sun, and there's nothing without water.
Building on the kaleidoscopic mix of digital tones and enveloping instrumentation of the 'Eclosure' EP, the musical influences scattered throughout 'Natureboy' stretch from Vangelis to George Duke to Hermeto Pascoal. It is underlined by the constant presence of Guerra's own voice, which weaves an abstract narative throughout the album. Goldie nimmt "Neidische Nazis" (Songtitel), Drake und Camus gleichsam an die Borderleine. Sein erster offizieller Release erscheint pünktlich zum Tourstart. Begleitet werden Veedel Kaztro, Johnny Rakete und Gold Roger auf ihrer Tour ohne Absicht von DJ Densen.

Every now and then, Madlib raps over his own beats as his alter ego Quasimoto. It's been eight years since he came out with The Further Adventures of Lord Quas, and now, Quasimoto is getting his own compilation. Yessir Whatever is out June 18 via Stones Throw, and it collects material spanning the full history of the project. The LP comes with a bonus 45 featuring "Hittin Hooks" and "Microphone Mathematics Remix".
