Founded in 1988, the Nu Groove catalogue is a true reflection of New York’s house sound. Started by Frank and Karen Mendez as an outlet for some of Rheji and Ronald Burrell’s more experimental musical ventures, the label would go on to help launch the careers of a number of local talents including Joey Beltram and Kenny Dope, but the Burrell brothers were by far the most prolific. Over thirty years later, Luke Solomon has re-assembled the catalogue and the spirit of this legendary New York label, with this 2 x 12” package celebrating some essentials from its catalogue. Featuring cuts from Bäs Noir, Aphrodisiac, N.Y. House’n Authority and K.A.T.O plus remixes from Tommy Musto and Frankie Bones, this collection of late 80’s and early 90’s gems is a record box essential and blissful re-introduction to the Nu Groove sound.

Chicago legend and well known collaborator of Derrick Carter (Red Nail Kidz), returns with a brilliant full length listening experience. Tapping into his roots, Chris delivers a deep and melodic 11 track banger. Currently being supported by Mark Farina, JT Donaldson, Diz, DJ Heather, DJ Sneak, and many more.

Claudio Crispo instigates the launch of his new label Everybody In with an EP of low slung House music that has inspiration and vibes from many different backgrounds. This EP is a journey through Claudio's various inspirations bringing together the vocal talents of Londoner Jordan James for the title track "Lost in time". This track is in a time-honoured format of classic analogue rhythm paired with soulful vocals and a finesse to the synthwork which transport you to a better place.

Label namesake "Everybody In" strikes a different somewhat melodic mood. Simple Piano work juxtaposes clever breakbeat drums. A truly different sounding record.

"Lights on" brings vocals from French rapper Jeune Slow deftly into a dreamy beatscape with a chunky rhythm and intricate production work. House music to its core with the central message that you should never give up on your dreams.

Inspired by the early 90's Trance scene "Sunnyhill" is a blissed out trip that begs for sunshine and sunset parties. Characterized by an "instantly recognizable" synth riff this track shows the variety on show with this record.

Closing out the EP "Telescope" features real orbital sounds, cut finely with an almost Lo-Fi production aesthetic with a broken beat backbone and an electro edge. Fantastic - a truly unique EP.

Artist Bio

Claudio Crispo aka Banku is a London-based electronic music producer and visual artist. Originally from Naples, Italy, Claudio has released a handful of EPs since his move to the UK in 2012, displaying a propulsive and wide-ranging aesthetic that encompasses house, techno, and IDM styles. Finding inspiration in his bustling cosmopolitan surroundings, Claudio is heavily inspired by the blockbuster sounds of the 1990s UK electronic music scene and trance. His recent collaborations include names such as the American band Tallows, the Neapolitan singer Meg, Diarmo and Fernando Lagreca from Barcelona.

Tartelet has a knack for uncovering virtuosic, off-kilter electronic music. Max Graef—born, bred and still holding it down in Berlin's Prenzlauer Berg—is their latest artist in this mold. Though adventurous dance music is thick on the ground in the German capital, Graef's 2013 run of singles, cropping up on Graef's own Box aus Holz, plus Melbourne Deepcast, The Gym, Heist and Tartelet, continually surprised, infusing worn-in house with manic energy and acrobatic elasticity. Where many of his peers make languid, self-consciously laid-back tunes, Graef makes brilliantly restless ones. Dropping the needle on one of his EPs, you nearly expect it to pop right off again.


Rivers of the Red Planet, Graef's first full-length and Tartelet's latest album project, takes all that wildness and refines, expands, updates and scrambles it. It's as ambitious and deviously entertaining a record as you'll hear in 2014, the fulfillment of Graef's desire to make anything but another contemporary house music album. At any given moment, Rivers of the Red Planet feels like it could have been recorded through the smoke at a jazz club in the booth at a techno club 30 years from now or inside an MPC stocked with crusty dollar-bin samples. (We'd guess the staff at Graef's beloved OYE Records in Berlin will have a difficult time settling on which section to file it in.) If it sounds sampled, it's a testament to Graef's natural musicianship and production prowess —the record is heavy on sounds he played himself, from drums and Rhodes to fat synth melodies wrung out of an old Crumar Performer water-damaged to perfection. For vocals, Graef enlisted Nigerian singer Wayne Snow, whose rugged soulfulness makes him a natural pairing. On cuts like "Drums Of Death" and "Speed Metal Jesus," the club- readiness of his EPs lives on. But Rivers of the Red Planet may be most at home in your living room, with a good bottle of red and a roaring fire's crackles mixing with the pops and hiss of the vinyl—a playful listen that sinks in, burrowing deep and getting you all warm and gooey on the inside.

After two releases with his duo RBDP, Wilt comes back with his first solo EP « Running ». Thé Chaud Records' 2nd release is a 4 tracker showing Wilt's multiple influences, somewhere between acid and deep-house, always with a club oriented feeling.

Stephan Bazbaz heads to LOCUS to deliver his Voyage EP, backed by a remix Casey Spillman.

An artist at the heart of Tel Aviv’s blossoming house and techno scene, Stephan Bazbaz continues to showcase his skills as one of the city’s leading lights within electronic music. With releases and remixes via the likes of Djebali, hedZup and INFUSE in 2020 alone, he now closes out a fruitful twelve months with an impressive label debut via FUSE imprint LOCUS to deliver three fresh cuts in the form of his ‘Voyage EP’ – whilst INFUSE regular and LOCUS alumni Casey Spillman makes a swift return to step up on remix duties.

A low-slung and moody effort from the off, opening cut ‘300’ combines swinging percussion and icy hats whilst escalating synths and rumbling sub-bass take hold and transport the production firmly into the peak hours – unsurprisingly featuring as a stand-out track within Enzo’s sets over the past 12 months. Next up, ‘Key To Success’ offers up a groove-heavy roller, with tracky drums guiding off-kilter samples and rich piano flourishes throughout, whilst Casey Spillman’s interpretation ups the energy levels as he works punchy kicks, warping synths and menacing low-end tones to turn in a bustling remix. To close, ‘The Life’ showcases yet another side of Bazbaz’s vast production skills, opting for hazy synths and dreamy chords to round out proceedings in impressive fashion.

Chymamusique started his music career in 2000 as a gospel and jazz pianist. He later developed an interest in house music in 2005 and started producing it in 2006. He released his first online single in 2010.2 He founded and manages "Chymamusique Records" and is signed to the record labels House Afrika & Soul Candi. He was a Mofunk Records member from 2010 to 2013.

Two of the UK’s most established talents team up on Crosstown Rebels this June, as Darius Syrossian and Bushwacka collaborate on the two-track Return To Jericho. The release marks their maiden studio collaboration and acts as Darius’ first appearance on the label.

The title track leads the way, opening with ethereal synth rolls and resonant kick-hat combos. Saharan-like vocals marry up next to a pacey, 4x4 bassline whilst atmospheric pulses march on in the background. Akkabi Blue takes on a more-stripped back feel, as minimal percussion cascades into a breakbeat-inspired breakdown to form a late-night dancefloor cut.

Darius Syrossian has been at the forefront of UK electronic music for more than a decade. A prolific producer, the Moxy Muzik head has released several standout EPs on the label, including Fuego and Harlem Nights to name a few. He has also welcomed several industry-heavyweights to the imprint in recent times, including East End Dubs, Seb Zito and many more besides.

Bushwacka has remained a firm fixture in the global dance scene since first cutting his teeth in the acid era of the late eighties. Regularly reinventing himself, his production catalogue boasts releases on Ultra, CTR and Get Physical as well as a host of other industry-defining labels, whilst his legendary residency at London nightclub The End has given the British-mainstay a lifelong legacy.

How deep can you go?

Rhythm Section INTL, following outings on Distant Hawaii (now Distant Horizons), Local Talk and a forthcoming EP on Lumberjacks in Hell.

The lead track, “Love Is” is a joint effort with long term collaborator Cazeaux O.S.L.O. It’s a meditation on Love, in all its complexities. This exploration is dissected across this deeply personal concept album – a 50-minute journey through the highs and lows of love and loss. Across 12 tracks we’re taken on a journey which seamlessly incorporates Soul, Jazz, Hip-Hop & Brazilian influences – all drenched in a deep longing which traces its roots back to the masters of deep, melancholic House music.

Born into a musical family and brought up on a blend of Jazz and Hip Hop, Prequel supplements his sample-based style with a number of luminaries of the Australian music scene in the form of guests Horatio Luna on bass, Josh Kelly on sax, Cazeaux O.S.L.O on vocals, Javier Fredes on percussion and Tamil Rogeon on violin/viola.

Deeply influenced by his love of film, the album is accompanied by a series of music videos edited by Prequel that whilst creating companion pieces to each single, also looks to further expand the meditation of what we talk about when we talk about Love.

Sudi Wachspress returns to Tartelet Records with Dance Planet, a third LP of emotionally-charged house music to welcome us back to the dancefloor. The spirit of true house runs deep in the sound of Space Ghost. Oakland native Sudi Wachspress is intuitively plugged into the romantic, mystical energy of 4/4 club music as a unifying force of empowerment and liberation, carrying the torch from vital forebears like Larry Heard, Alton Miller, and Blaze.

His new album, Dance Planet, carries a greater responsibility to spread spiritual affirmations. As the global dancefloor community emerges from a mentally-taxing recess and confronts their social self like it’s the first day of school, Space Ghost’s message couldn’t be more supportive.

“Don’t be afraid to be yourself, don’t be afraid to let go,” he intones on “Be Yourself.” More than just a beat and a hook, his music is pointedly created to heal and energize. “I’m a big fan of old-school house vocals that have a positive message,” says Space Ghost, “tracks that can perhaps enhance your mood or strengthen your confidence in yourself.”

Wachspress has always represented a beacon of musical uplift, both on his previous Endless Light and Aquarium Nightclub LPs for Tartelet and on his swathes of self-released music and last year’s Free 2 B on Apron. Compared to most house-oriented artists, he places emphasis on the long-player format to create an encircling experience for the listener, smoothing out psychic wrinkles and massaging areas of tension for a fully holistic hit.

Welcome to SNDRS005 Various Artists - "Disco Goodies Vol. 2", the latest vinyl release from Sundries.

This five-track beauty kicks off with "Kili" by Vagabond Club Social, a funky fresh disco roller with an infectious bassline, dreamlike chimes and heavenly strings that go on for miles. The perfect start to this all-star release!

In at the A2 spot is "Oasis Of Luv" by Saint Paul, a juicy disco number dripping with style and pizazz. Combining a memorable vocal hook, a pulsating rhythm and a super funky bassline, Oasis Of Luv is a guaranteed crowd pleaser!

Over on the B side we get things started with "Freedom" by Hotmood & Igor Gonya, a straight up disco belter that comes in hard and fast with a heavy bassline and a pounding beat. Add in lashings of horns, guitars and vocal refrains and Freedom qualifies as a certified dance floor jam!

At the B2 in Decent Rides with "Only U", a chunky, funk laden track with a killer vocal hook and some super vibey guitar and string melodies. Add in some generous portions of sumptuous filter house style sweeps, and "Only U" is an undeniable floor filler!

Last but by no means least is Júlio Cruz with "Enjoy". This sultry, soulful number ticks all the right disco boxes, with tons of bass and strings, and a beat that won’t quit: the perfect end to an awesome release!

Shall Not Fade welcome the France based artist Jaymie Silk to the family with his EP ‘The
Legend of Jack Johnson’’.

As a true modern nomad, born in France to an Italian mother and a father from West Africa,
as a French and Canadian citizen, Jaymie has quickly attracted attention to his music being
immensely prolific through a number of remixes, EPs and albums.
This EP follows up on his video clip "Brain Dead", depicting the daily life of marginalized
people, and his article for DJ Mag highlighting the relationship between racism and mental
health for a black artist in the electronic music scene. Following a year 2020 marked by
social movements, the death of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement, the
discussions around racism, the place of Black people and POC in the electronic music scene
and the cultural appropriation, for Jaymie, Jack Johnson was to be the theme of this new
opus.

Jack Johnson became the first African American to be able to compete against white men,
and to win the world heavyweight boxing title between 1908 and 1915, in a country where
segregation was strongly present, where interracial love were forbidden and black people
were hanged daily. Based on period recordings by Jack Johnson, interviews with
Mohammed Ali and radio broadcasts, Jaymie recounts the life of the boxer as he explores
club rhythms mixing breakbeat and 808 (Knock You Down) and sounds reminiscent of late
1910s jazz, as in the track Jack Johnson, remixed by Byron The Aquarius. The B side
approaches the life of the boxer under a more melancholic aspect with the song Illegal Love,
evoking the illegality of interracial marriages, and the track Unforgivable Blackness, where
Jaymie lets himself sing on guitar samples supported by tribal percussions that have made
his musical trademark.

The Dutch icon Orlando Voorn is releasing a fresh new sound on Deeptrax Records sublabel Contrafact! Having started his career in the early 80s with major influences of Parliament, Kraftwerk, Motown and P funk, he is now widely recognized as an ingenious (Detroit) house and techno producer with former releases on Juan Atkins’ Metroplex records and Kevin Saunderson’s KMS. In “The Master” this album brings something special and is influenced by the deeper sounds of soul and funk. Orlando Voorn has used aliases in the past to present and release various styles of music without limiting himself and is one of the most versatile producers out there. We are proud to team up with Voorn and release this album that captures soulful jazz, funk rhythms and perfectly fused with passionate vocals in a real jazzy Detroit vein.

This 3x12" compilation is a great way to get stuck into the label or as an existing listener, to whet the appetite for the next slab of Beef coming in 2022.

Gone from his first ever set to international gigs & festivals, receiving support from the likes of Dixon & Tycho, and amassing millions of plays online over the space of little more than a year, Aleksandir has definitely had a good year. Following his acclaimed Yamaha EP and Contrails LP, the Artesian Sounds boss releases his first EP on the label.

Aleksandir turns towards a darker mood on ARS003, which contains some of his most club-friendly & high-bpm tunes to date. Having received a wide range of early support (Maxxi Soundsystem, Seb Wildblood, Nachtbraker, Matt Karmil, object blue, Kiasmos), BBC 6 airplay, and forthcoming promotional coverage on Mixmag, Houseum, Bolting Bits & Delicieuse Musique, ARS003 is off to a good start. Moving away from the naivety of his previous sounds and incorporating a range of newly found inspirations into his soundscape, ARS003 contains some of Aleksandir's most high-bpm, club-friendly tracks to date.

Aleksandir will be on tour leading up to and during the release of ARS003, confirmed dates include Berlin, Bucharest, Paris, Istanbul, MS Dockville Festival Hamburg, Toronto, Quebec City & Piknic Elektronik Montreal.

Visions Recordings is beginning 2021 with a new single and a distant collaboration between Alex Attias and Chicago Legend Peven Everett. This one is a really rough and groovy track made during the 2020 crisis over the internet . Alex sent a few demos and Peven worked his magic singing positive words over a simple house groove and instantly made a future classic. Visions is about keeping the standard high and varied and once again we try to present you quality and deepness.

Originally released back in 1995 the 'Fingerprintz EP' is truly a deep house masterclass. Forget all these records coming out today claiming the 'deep house' title, this is what it's all about right here - on one slab of wax. KC is a legend and at this stage in the game he doesn't need an intro, every single track featured here is an absolute winner, all drenched in that classic Kerri swing and style. Timeless productions. It's hard to pick a favourite as they are all amazing, every possible mood is covered making this whole 4 track EP your new 'always in the bag' staple. From the driving upbeat funk of 'Where is love' to the totally stripped back tribal diva sampling 'I remember' KC has you covered. It may sound cliched, but they simply do not make them like this anymore! Essential, essential business here from one of the true masters of the game. 100% classic.

Here they debut on Circus with classic house sensibilities running parallel with a fresh vibe that without doubt makes Circular Thing to be one of the stand out tracks of the year.
HK & SKI, two of house music's most revered maestros team up for a return to Circus Recordings.
Harry and Joeski offer more of house music's authenticity over their trademark slammin beats on In Jazz.

Finally Italian newbie Cliff Jack makes his debut on Circus, and similar to Louis Proud's recent monster release on the label, the track was discovered via the Circus Recordings demo box on facebook.
A track label boss Yousef has been playing for many months, another find...

First time we heard one of their tracks being played out it immediately sparked our interest to find out who is behind the music. On the other side we found a group of likeminded souls from London and a simple inquiry evolved into a close friendship. For the fourth Luckison edition we proudly showcase Felon5, a trio of super talented upcoming producers, with four tracks that have become pure Luckison classics over the last year!

The latest release on Francis Harris' Scissor & Thread label out of Brooklyn is another exercise in deep and meditative atmospheres. The label, comprised of a tight knit collective of multi-faceted composers, vocalists and instrumentalists, always strives to develop new projects based on a shared aesthetic, and this five track EP is both boundary pushing and fully synchronized with the label's approach. With Melquíades' 'Blue Caves' Melbourne based Composer and Sound Designer Alexander Albrecht presents his solo debut EP following on from the 'Tidal River' album he released as part of the Albrecht La'Brooy duo. The title track 'Blue Caves' is a skittering, weightless exploration of space, seemingly built around lush field recordings and fragments of melody developing out of the ether. 'Avlemonas' flows from a similar source, but crystallizes around an off kilter rhythm and occasional subby bass, balanced against swooping pads and piano motifs. 'Morning Breeze' seems to revel in the evocative nature of its title, with hand played percussion backing more wistful, emotive piano sketches and wandering bass notes, before the track settles into a hypnotic groove. Label head Francis Harris provides another take on the track for his Re-form version, a more dancefloor aimed excursion that draws deeply from the classic deep house of the New York and Detroit masters. Ending the relases is 'Patio', which drifts back towards the ambient territories of the opening tracks, with exquisite, understated instrumentation and a melancholic yet elated vibe.

With the UKG scene carving out it's niche, 1996 saw the all too brief, but much lauded appearance of the mysterious Mred Marquez for this excellent one-off release on Crosstown Records. Dedicating himself to the tougher, trackier & darker side of UK house and garage, this 4 tracker perfectly encapsulates his vision.

'I Release', opens with melodic chord stabs and heavy, warm analogue bass, swinging percussion drives the track on before a classic garage organ plays an unforgettable riff. 'I Realise' (Dub) strips it down and goes for a heads down vibe, a slammer of a track that never loses any of the original's devastating punch and potency. 'Nathalie X' brings the muscle, driven along by yet another monstrous speaker rattling b-line that builds and moves to an incredible peak, there's yet again top draw bumpin' drums and quintessential garage chords and keys. Lastly, 'Do Not Pass Go' is a classic sweaty basement jam. Gritty and more uncompromising in it's approach, banging kicks underpin the percussion that builds with those ever essential skipping snares and clipped hi-hats.There's hefty lo-slung bass throughout, whilst classic riffs and dubbed out chords lift the higher end.

The focus for this TLM 7" is on SofaTalk from Italy, on the A side we have a superb track called Organica with main man Piero Paolinelli on Roland V-Drum, Arp Odyssey and Juno 106 with Marcus Horndt on Fender Rhodes and Edoardo Ruzzi on the Electric Bass. On the AA side Piero goes solo for Untold Stories, another superb track highlighting Piero's talents. Piero runs his own label Cognitiva Records and has had releases on deepArtSounds and ANMA Records amongst others, we are very proud to have him onboard for this release.

UC Beatz delivers his 'Nightzoom' EP via B2 Recordings this December, comprised of four originals from the Belgian artist. Brussels-based producer, DJ and label owner of Entrepôt Records, UC Beatz has carved out quite the reputation over the past decade and a half, dropping material on reputed imprints such as New York's Razor N Tape, Cinthie's Collective Cuts, Derrick Carter and Luke Solomon's The Classic Music Company amongst others. Here he joins the B2 Recordings roster with his latest collection of works and title-cut 'Nightzoom' leads, laying down organic drums, hypnotic chants and circling synth strings to create a subtly blooming, loop-led groove. 'Saraska' follows and strips things back to choppy acid bass, swinging 707 drums, vocal shots and an amalgamation of airy resonant keys. Opening the flip-side is 'The Girl Who Loved Flowers', employing classic deep house tropes with fluttery Rhodes chords, tension building strings, snaking bass and crunchy drums throughout. Lastly 'Stars Keep Shining' then rounds out the release, leaning towards a more jazzy house aesthetic courtesy of intricately nuanced key melodies, warm subs, shuffled drums and winding Moog like synth licks.

The ep starts with a dancefloor house jam by DEENAMIC, a slightly different more classic approach to dance music than his previous releases but a winner for all DJs and dancers. It is a deep house filled with deep pads, and some subtle Rhodes licks courtesy of JM BAILON. On the same side TRYEZZ, delivers here a melodic future funk stomper filled with piano chords and analogue synths and stabs for this non-stop 6 min groove. On the B side ORLANDO VOORN, better known for his techno releases, offers here a deep house kind of jam with reversed piano loops and a subtle techno vibe with deep strings and pads for a journey into Detroit dance. Last but not least, STEPHANE ATTIAS is serving a deep and melodic house cut with subtle sounds and percussions, a simple journey into space. THE EVOLUTION – PHASE THREE is an essential collection of grooves. Do not sleep it is a limited vinyl release!

TLM025 kicks off with Erik Escobar and his cover version of Memories by Caruso. Erik is from Campinas in Brazil and a very well respected and talented musician. Taking the track into a completely different direction to the original this cover version is written for the dancefloor. Onto the AA side and Cormac Fulton (one half of Caruso) gives us a very deep track called Perplexed, a very moody affair with Matt Cox and Steve Conry on production duties. Next up is Time Machine from Detroit's Lorenzo Dewberry, another deep journey taking influences from the cities sound for another dancefloor piece. Lastly Gee W finishes off the EP with his track MarshMellow, a very nice laid back deep house track from the UK based multi-instrumentalist.
