For its third vinyl release, Colombian label Nómada Records returns with the 2nd chapter of the Nómada White Series, a split EP with six tracks of driven and raw Hip-Hop-infused Deep House music courtesy of label-veterans 4004 and Jonahlo.

On the A-side, Mexican miracle-man 4004 get's his wonk on with three tracks fusing warm synths and jazzy harmonies, providing some proper punch to get things going. When flipped, it's all about Colombian craftsman Jonahlo going in with all guns blazing, dropping a sweaty mix of African percussion, funky basslines and soulful samples. A perfect fit for filling floors.

With her DJing and creative project Automagicalley on hiatus, Adi’s 2020 has been home to a slower kind of alchemy - the creative processing of two years’ worth of musical sense impressions into the basic fact of a needle on a record.

Amin Peck is an electronic studio project, contaminated by the New Wave from U.K. like most '80s electronic bands.
Amin-Peck walked a fine line between Disco and Minimal Wave throughout the course of the early 1980s, oftentimes incorporating shameless Pop melodies and Avant-garde leanings. Amin Peck were an italian band leaded by Giorgio Fioroni (aka George Fyron, arrangements, production, vocals) with Leonard Parker (arrangments, keyboards) and Max Marne (production). Incredible but true, Amin Peck started as 'hard rock' guitar band in the 70's... and becoming one of the best examples of italo disco.
This limited edition It contains full-length versions plus uncut audio material (A2) tracked down during tape restoration.

The latest subsequent sees Cosmic JD take the reigns for a 4 tracker choc to the brim of deep teched-up punk.

Cowboy Rhythmbox return for a short, sweet and typically unusual transmission, as cult house journeyman, Detroit producer and DJ Sharif Laffrey provides one of the most memorable and original releases in Phantasy’s history, followed by a simmering take from the duo themselves.

Chugging with schizophrenic glee for nearly fifteen minutes, Laffrey masterfully combines his own flavour for obscurities and offbeat samples with no less than three tracks from the Cowboy Rhythmbox archive. Mixing element upon element into a somewhat absurdist masterpiece, this uncategorizable rework injects waves of weirdo energy and a little menace into the small hours.

In response, Cowboy Rhythmbox consciously scramble the formula even further. They were so impressed by Laffrey’s interpretation, they choose to deliver a remix upon remix with their ‘Deviation Variation’.

Retaining the full measure of their skittish psychedelia that has blessed and freaked-out dancefloors over the years, the original pair rework the vampish synths at the heart of previous head spinner‘Vodonik’, escalating guttural acid and a heads down bassline that perhaps dials down the fury, but keeps the filth.

Music is love continue welcoming new friends to the label, on this occasion we find rising star Harrison BDP with firm favorite Liam Geddes providing a stella remix for the labels 17th vinyl release.

Harrison albeit at the start of his career has already amassed some serious attention through his growing following, choice releases, and his immersive production style and we are sure this EP will only strengthen his standing as a rock solid producer who can deliver stylistically time after time.

Hailing from Cluj-Napoca, Heion is a producer, DJ, songwriter, music production teacher and label head of Redolent Records. Throughout a career spanning nearly a decade, he’s shared bills with the likes of David Morales, Ray Mang, Session Victim and Kraak & Smaak, performed with the Hungarian Opera Orchestra and always stayed committed to being a true dancefloor eclectic.

Heion’s latest release is Make Believe, an energetic four tracker on his own freshly launched imprint. It blends a variety of meandering synth solos and quirky analog licks, all wrapped up in the programmed yet deeply organic rhythms that have come to define Heion’s sound.

The release also marks the birth of Redolent Records, a label dedicated to being a true home for sonic excitement while pushing boundaries and inspiring deliberate, well-rounded creations. It aims to pay homage to artists that paved the way musically and to the ones that still inspire across soul, funk and disco.

House music is coded music, it's true. Yet some artists manage to get this kind of music out of the fetters, to dust it off. With his new EP, Georges proves that he is of this calibre, and that music labels are above all made to be lifted. But Georges also knows how to surround himself with people, notably his great friend Bellaire, with whom he plunged into the house world two years ago. Together, they released the EP Contrasts in 2019, which revealed their whimsical and complementary personalities. Even if the "Georges" project is a solo exercise, the influence of his sidekick is never far away. Just like Dimitri From Paris for the bases, Wulfpeck for the fusion, or Henry Wu and Alfa Mist. Georges is also a dj, that's why he's so attentive to the music around him. He feeds off it, soaks it up to bring out its singularity. It's up to us to discover it from now on.

Reaching For A Higher Place: a sign of things to come for Stereotone. Following Wheelman's well received "Box Of Tricks (Vol. 1)" release earlier this year, this fresh EP covers different colours, atmospheres and ideas but comes together to present a solid picture of Wheelman's core sound.

From Gui Boratto's latest album - III' comes - This Is Not The End', an indie minded track that convincingly demonstrates Gui's impressive skill set when it comes to emotional narratives embedded in a distinctively monumental context. Like his timeless - Beautiful Life' and last year's album highlight - Destination: Education' (already remixed to perfection by Terranova and Tale Of Us), - This Is Not The End' features the beautiful vocals of Luciana Villanova, who seems to know exactly what makes Gui tick - which doesn't come as a surprise, as they are married - and possesses this rarest of all gifts, an unique voice that seems to address each listener personally.
In his own - 2012 Mix' featured here, Gui doesn't so much concentrate on the original's tearjerking qualities (which were already fully formed), but streamlines the arrangement for ease of use on the floor of your choice, making the track even more refined and addictive. Those of you looking for a slighty more adventurous approach will find their satisfaction with Michael Mayer's rework on the flipside, where the source material's hypnotic qualities are brought to the fore, resulting in a masterful slice of catchy prime time psychedelica. With both mixes turning out to be instant classics, we can definitely confirm that this is not the end.

Kassian are back on Heist with a follow up to their debut release ‘The Premise’ from 2018. Their new ‘8th Movement’ EP showcases their knack for a tight dance floor groove and is another great example of their well-groomed electronic funk. The EP features 3 originals and a Leo Pol remix. The Kassian boys have worked like maniacs to build their profile since their debut in 2018. Their debut title track ‘The Premise’ was nominated track of the year by Gilles Peterson, and their track ‘Bad Habit’ has been a staple in DJ sets from us and many others. Meanwhile, they’ve had releases on ‘Phonica White’, ‘Groovence’ and started their own label ‘Kassian Versions’ with some heavy edits. They also started a radio show on ‘Balamii’, instantly becoming one of the station’s favorite shows and they’ve worked on charity compilations for Covid19 and the United Nations Women’s charity, while still finding the time to deliver a seriously cool new record on Heist. Apollo is built around a bumpin’ disco bassline, hazy stabs, vocal chops and a deceptively simple but oh- so-catchy lead loop. The track also features some nifty keys and percussion by Thomas Arroyo, who produces afro-inspired house under the name Laroye and has really succeeded in giving the track an added layer of warmth and expression. This track has everything you need for a solid party anthem: A solid beat, a catchy bassline and just the right amount of chops, fills and vocals. The title track takes a deeper turn, with some lovely Motor City inspired chords, rolling drums and their soon-to-be signature surprise move of a driving acid line. A hit of a ‘dubby’ piano and a vocal chant both move in and out and of the forefront, adding some really nice layers to the heads down vibe of the track.

REPRESS: 'If you want something done right, sometimes you just have to do it yourself'. In a world filled with false gurus and misguided leaders, so goes the mantra of the New York duo Walker & Royce. After a swift rise in recent years - during which time they pioneered a sound that is often imitated but never replicated - Sam Walker and Gavin Royce have used this mantra as the impetus for their debut album 'Self Help', on their label home Dirtybird.

In order to grow, one often has to look inward, and the pair set out on a trail of self-discovery and advancement. Their journey has resulted in a diverse album that evokes a range of emotion and fervor, one that can be appreciated both on the way to a club as well as feverishly dancing to it in one.

Walker & Royce's signature production is in exceptional form on their solo tracks, such as 'Why Tho', 'Warkin It', 'Best Track Ever' and 'Sunday'. The way they contrast heavy, low-end bass and beats with pristine melodies arises from the first thing they ask themselves when they fire up their studio: 'Will we play this'

The pair has also continued to push the boundaries of their minted formula for a bigger purpose, enlisting several distinct vocalists and collaborators to captivating effect. The legendary Green Velvet lends his vocal talent to 'Rub Anotha Dub', and longtime friend Dances With White Girls appear on two memorable tracks, including the hit single 'Take Me To Your Leader'. Other collaborators such as Sophiegrophy, OnCue, Forrest and Mr. JPatt each introduce their own individual elements to the album, rounding out the varied tones and feelings that comprise the 'Self Help' masterpiece.

The road to self-discovery is filled with many bumps and obstacles, but with 'Self Help', Walker & Royce have proven that they've got the keys and in the driver's seat.

This time we give you an Apparel Wax bottle opener while from the cover you can get a panel to play battleship, with the hope of making these complex days a little lighter and more playful.

The eighth chapter of the Apparel Wax saga brings with it, as always, a multitude of sounds and suggestions. The masked producer always manages to renew himself, bringing something new and special to each record but always remaining faithful to his musical line. APLWAX008 will be released in January and consists of four tracks: the first is a track with a very marked dynamics and is characterized by a solid rhythm section, a bass line that recalls the UK garage, vocal samples and a beautiful harmonic evolution produced by evolving chords. The second track, A2, winks at Jazz and Soul with a production rich in rhythmic virtuosity, keyboard solos and an almost hypnotic vocal loop while the second side starts with B1, which takes us back to an imaginary dancefloor with a powerful beat and airy disco chords. The EP closes with B2 that softens the tones giving a more intimate, classy and deep end, with references to Funk and R&B. In short, an EP that touches many genres while remaining compact as a whole. Repress!

LP2 continues his exploration of emotive, dreamy atmospheres, soaked with rich pads and otherworldly arpeggios, juxtaposing it with hectic drum machines, deep bass lines and unusual sampling - evoking industrial music. It’s a slightly warmer and in a way more soothing album than LP1, but at the same time more dance-oriented as well, at some point reminiscent of Earth Trax’s early deep house singles. It’s a fascinating insight in world building, extending the author’s ideas from previous records (either as Earth Trax or Bartosz Kruczyński downtempo releases) much further and treating them more as a starting point rather than reusing them. LP2 again features the gorgeous photography of Kasia Zacharko and design of Kaja Kukuła.

Ninze & Okaxy`s "Blurry Mind" , a frame of their impressions & work , as sine qua non for every listener, and a memory of all their travels over the past year. For the last half a decade NINZE & OKAXY have been establishing a significant and experimental sound, self-branded Ketapop, by creating a spherical, yet melancholic atmosphere with a distinctive deepness and complex sound patterns. Runemark Records comes back with yet another vinyl and the twelfth release in the label catalogue which combines two probably the most creative and popular artists from Lithuania - Ten Walls and Daddy Was A Milkman. The duo's collaboration has lead into a strong and beautyful EP called Hidden' and includes two original compositions and a remix from Ten Walls. The title track lifts above reality and holds energy with tight rhythms, deep atmosphere and crystal vocals on top. Suitable for every dancefloor as well as to enjoy privately. The second original composition in the pack is called Airglow'. It's another strong statement and is no less than the title track. Last but not least comes Ten Walls' remix for Ink' that can be found in Ten Walls Queen' album vinyl edition. Cozy and at the same time massive sounding remix is even more calibrated for the dance floors than the original. Ten Walls delivers highest quality as always. Andy Vaz has a giant passion for cycling, precisely for extensive trips from his Hometown Cologne to Düsseldorf and other destinations around the area on his old school flavoured VITUS 979 Duralinox racing bike. “Bicycle Love” is his personal homage to it.

Club of Jacks follow up their bestselling debut vinyl release with another 4 tracker of heavyweight House & Garage cuts. This EP also features keyboard maestro Raphael 'Raffy' Bushman who adds some very special vibes. Opening track 'Follow Me' fuses deep basslines, an echoed sax riff and dubwise vocals with a rolling 4/4 UKG beat and mid-tune dubbed out breakbeat section. 'Bring It Back' is the first of the tunes featuring Raffy and he lays down some sublime jazzy piano over skippy swung beats, rhodes pads and nostalgic female R&B vocal cuts. On the flip side, 'Need Your Loving' features more of Raffy's exceptional keyboard skills in the form of organ stabs, uplifting piano solos and a funky bassline over a feel good groove. Rounding off the EP is 'Don't You Know', a late night deep house bomb, combining a heavy sub, emotive strings, organ stabs and soulful vocal flourishes.

Deep, soulful and techy treats by meaestro Eric Ericksson. Eric has been releasing his music since the early nineties on labels like Fragile and Planet E. In resent times Eric's music can also be found on Papa Records, Local Talk and Freerange, to name a few. An elegant four tracker that starts out with the uncompromising and crude track 'Greed', followed by 'Acquiescence' with it's sharp and classy shuffles, lush strings and big sounding pads. The flip side starts of with 'Totality'. Complete, raw sounding with morphing dubby stabs, combined with rough grooves and punching beats. The EP ends off with the pulsating, dreamy and sensitive track 'Closure'. Nothing is left by chance when Eric shows his vision and approach for modern electronic music.

Plump is fat positive, sex positive, queer positive, feminist and anti racist with a focus on centering underrepresented and marginalized voices. Think feminist Ghetto Tech, uplifting while militant, raw and empowering. A place of refuge for everyone who has ever felt unseen or excluded no matter gender, colour or creed.

Plump is about an attitude and ethos, more than it is attached to a genre specific sound. Plump is about radical acceptance. Plump is a creative partnership and collaboration between Kevin Knapp and Jessica “Hutch” Hutcheson, AKA Hutchtastic. Hutch is a visual artist, vocalist, Detroit native, burgeoning producer and overall performer and art personality. Kevin Knapp is music producer, DJ and vocalist, with a slew of releases on formidable labels in the dance music industry.

Kevin also has a new streaming show on Dirtybird Live called Plump’d. The Plump’d livestream show originates from Berlin and is created by Kevin & Hutch.

"Plump'd is an opportunity I've been gifted in the wake of the world shutting down due to the pandemic. Life is funny that way when life closes some doors it opens others. I've been given the opportunity to host a show every Saturday night during the prime time slot, on Dirtybird's Twitch channel for Dirtybird Live. Each week my hope is to have artists I respect, revere, and consider a friend to come on and play some music with me, just for the love of the music. The show is named after our new record label and carries with it the label's ethos of going back to the roots of dance music as a place of radical acceptance."
