Every so often Public Release takes a snapshot along their discography timeline, to pause and recognize the various artists that represent the past, present and future of where the label sits. The last such release was in 2016, and four years, twelve releases later it’s time for another marker. This EP pools together six exclusive tracks from their global family, some on the PR roster for the very first time. From the beautifully addictive melodies by Tendts and Metropolitan Soul Museum, brooding baselines and synths from Richard Sen and Tim Sweeney, to the ecstatic floor energy produced by Fran-key and Earth Boys, the range presented here is impressive. Equally enjoyable as an abbreviated album, or as singular tracks at your service.

Kerri Chandler's Kaos Theory returns with the musical minds of Voyeur providing the heat via two new originals, alongside a thumping tech house remix from man of the moment Desert Sound Colony.
‘Acid Test’ is a pounding 303-laden warper, laced with wiggling synths and lo-fi vocal samples. On the B side ‘Bits’ is full of low-end weight, bumping kicks and contorted melodies as Desert Sound Colony rounds things off with a trademark techy remix of ‘Bits’.

Having begun in spring 2019 with the Moment EP, featuring her international hit ‘Starry Night’, Peggy Gou continues the story of Gudu Records with an EP from one of dance music’s most prolific artists, DMX Krew. Closely associated with Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label, Ed DMX emerges once more from the underground with four sublime tracks of charismatic electronics, as potent and unmistakable as any music produced across his three-decade discography. For the uninitiated, opening track ‘CJ Vibe’ is the perfect, floor-focused distillation of DMX Krew’s timeless studio powering into psychedelic life, as a spaced out, playful synth line holds fort through a detailed house music trip. ‘DXIOO’ heads further down the techno wormhole - a rich, deep ballad of entangled DX100 and TR909 that expands to overwhelming machine funk. On the flip, ‘Don’t You Wanna Play?’ strikes immediately to deliver the EP’s most suitably playful cut, pairing irresistible modulations with sharp toms and hugely satisfying hits of cowbell, revisiting the frantic atmosphere imprinted within the carefree rave heritage of the DMX Krew project. Finally, ‘110 Series’ dials down the tempo while retaining the high-spirits for an inspired composition that sees Ed take his numerous synths on a skilful and melodic moonwalk around the studio, then onwards to the dancefloor.

The second release on TDSR comes from the Prince of Florence - Dukwa. "Tears Like Stones" is his most varied body of work yet, and hints at the versatility of what's to come from this new Glaswegian label.
Marco Dukwa lives a life of many parallels. Growing up in a small town on the outskirts of Florence, he is the third of eight children in a working class family - by day working 13 hours shifts since adolescence to help provide for his siblings, all the while dreaming of music. By night he locks himself in his room, channelling his emotions through the only hardware he could afford – the MPC1000. Through his sampler he reflects various influences from dance music past and present, crafting tracks of rave euphoria, dusty Detroit house, gliding arpeggios and golden era electro.
At weekends, he is the darling of his local football team Antella FC for which he is the top goal scorer and subject of much adoration (even if it’s only from the average attendance of 50 people).
“Tears Like Stones” translates both the introspective recording process and the intent for versatile DJ use, percussion tools and peak time energy represented across each side. The EP demonstrates Dukwa’s path from 2008 to today – the culmination of more than a decade immersed in sound.

Exciting new electronic project E&D burst onto the scene in stunning style with the exhilarating ‘Not Enough’ and ‘Runaway’, released on FCR on 14th June and backed by remixes from acclaimed electronic producers Mall Grab and Ali Berger.
London based E&D have unleashed two scintillating vocal cuts which have UK clubbing culture at their very core, featuring classic Garage influences. The theme of heartbreak runs throughout both ‘Not Enough’ and ‘Runaway’ with an emphasis on harmony and melody which will be integral to the identity of the E&D project.
The deep and atmospheric ‘Not Enough’ presents a beautiful yet powerful female vocal whose tone and expression perfectly emphasises the message of lost love. E&D perfect balance this with contrasting shimmering and stabbing beats to produce a track that already has the hallmarks of a classic.
‘Runaway’ is an up-tempo, vintage-sounding UK Garage themed cut with poignant undertones, as the gorgeous female vocal again mourns a relationship which has moved on.
For the remixes, E&D have called upon two of electronic music’s most respected producers – Mall Grab and Ali Berger. Both offer a completely fresh perspective to the originals. With his remix of ‘Not Enough’ celebrated Australian Producer Mall Grab takes the original into deeper, tougher territory, stripping back and lowering the vocal and adding intense, almost tribal, percussion alongside vintage acid house beats.
FCR favourite Ali Berger also takes his working of ‘Runaway’ deep into the underground, emphasising the bass, cleverly layering the vocal and building to a peak-time floor-filler.

Saved Records founder Nic Fanciulli returns to Rekids with a tough two-track release entitled ‘Focus’.
British Grammy-nominated producer and globally renowned DJ, Nic Fanciulli has prevailed as one of the most sought-after house and techno artists of the last decade with a global touring schedule, including launching his well-received debut Ushuaïa Ibiza residency ‘Dance or Die’ last summer to add to his years at the iconic Space Ibiza. While releasing on many of the most respected labels including RCA, Anjunadeep, Crosstown Rebels, Rekids, Circus and Play It Say It, he crossed paths with Rekids when remixing Radio Slave’s seminal ‘Grindhouse’ back in 2012, but it was only until last year that Fanciulli dropped a full solo outing on the label with his superb ‘Understand’ release.

City Fly return for their 15th release, backed by serious muscle in the form of NY*AK, and fellow contributors Ian Blevins and Mark Hand, who make up the stomping and spectacular Afghan Jams EP. Starting strong is ‘Return’, with a relentless dub techno energy, graced later by soft vocals and euphoric violin strings making for an epic dancefloor anthem. ‘Slick’, with Mark Hand, veers off into a loose, crackly acid trip. It’s followed by ‘Troia’, rounding off side A with an all-out party of flutes and keys over one infectious ecosystem of drums. Then, on side B, ‘We Both Know’ comes through; NY*AK’s eye-catching, sample-heavy jam with Ian Blevins with an eerie bassline. And the EP concludes with title track ‘Afghan Jam’, featuring Mark Hand - a special groove captured mid-session. Something a house head can easily get lost in.
Early support includes Laurent Garnier, Ame, Charles Webster, Horse Meat Disco, Kassian. DJ Mag Spain top house release of the month.

Our first release, VA001, is a compilation of artists that have previously played at our venue Colour! Our primary goal with this record was to showcase the diverse range of sounds that make the venue so special to us- from jazz to fusion to early morning trance. Additionally, we're trying to raise money to keep the venue afloat and get artists paid while they can't perform.
On the orange side, you'll get the late-night live music style we push upstairs, and the blue side would be the early morning dance music, plus more experimental electronic music takes. Every element of the club, in one stunning 12" liquorice pizza!

Our second release this year yet again explores the deep side genres of electronic music and deep house.
The man SMBD aka Simbad has been on our wish list for quite a while now and we are super delighted that It finally worked out to welcome him for a full release on our label after his contribution to the first Dampé Ep we did last year. After a string of releases on labels like Apron, Freerange and BBE there is not much introduction needed for this house veteran.
These five tracks range from soulful house to darker break beat material and ambient soundscapes. Especially the great title track “Purple Winds” is a beautiful emotional piece of music. The closing track “Man Madol” for us is very reminiscent to early Detroit electronic music. “Piano Lick” and “Glory” are packed with soul, funk, disco and basically just good times on the dancefloor while the moody and acid break beat excursion “ – 8 – “ is winding deeper and deeper and deeper …
Not much more needed to be said here, we will let the music speak and let you enjoy these excellent tunes!

Coming soon - Two brand new remixes of Sparky's eternal Numbers anthem 'Portland' by Tuff City Kids (Gerd Janson & Phillip Lauer).
Having requested the parts of the original track, the intrepid duo travelled back in time to the year 1991, set up their samplers and got busy with the breakbeats and euphoric synth pads.
Now firmly back in 2014, these remixes will be released on July 28th on vinyl and digital.

Flumo and ANMA Records join forces once again - this time for a collaborative project between UK based Contours and Yadava. Cosmic Echoes was built over numerous jam sessions fusing live percussion, bass, drum machine, synthesizers and field recordings to create a raw EP full of soul and warmth.
‘Start First Finish Last’ opens up with smooth keys and alluring bass solo. The drum and percussion interplay keeps the up beat rhythm flowing, allowing for the bass to enhance on a Balearic and laid-back dance groove.
‘Udu' takes the vibe on a more beat-driven road, with interlocking Kit and Udu patterns, floating keys and rolling synth arpeggios cutting in and out of the groove. ‘Speaking Through Broken Shells’, gets back on the bass and drum heavy interaction, with lots of influences from UK jazz scene.
The B-side starts off with a more familiar house groove. ‘Low Slung’, is a nod to the eyes down moments on the dance floor, with raw hats and shakers swirling around synth swells and heavy synth bass for introspective bliss.
‘Cascades’ swaps over to an atmospheric soundscapes, with plenty of stereo play and rich sound quality, making it easy to get lost in a jungle of flutes, keys and rain-line percussion notes.
Closing out the EP, NIAN’s remix of Cascades, takes the atmosphere up a beat and subs the rolling bass with broken beat rhythm.

Cropper has returned to Blah Blah Blah Records to follow up his world wide smash 'Forever'. Since marking BBB's tenth release in 2013 'Forever' has been snapped up by Universal, racked up half a million plays worldwide and played on Radio 1 by Pete Tong. To some such success may seem common place, or not that remarkable, however for artist and label these were very proud moments, not to mention moral boosting confirmations in their personal belief in the music they were presenting. A belief that has brought them back together for one more record. 'Sunlight FT. A.Z' is a hauntingly beautiful record with live double bass, searching strings, Jazz like keys and a whispy yet penetrating vocal all conspiring to dazzle the senses with its thought provoking beauty. Not your typical club record, but we're hoping that shouldn't matter. Following Sunlight is 'Shade' and like the title suggests there is a commonality as much as there is a stark difference between the two. An African spoken word sample sets the tone, as crisp weighty drums groove another 3am curveball straight into your record box. To be heard, not pontificated about with flowery words. Rounding out the package is a remix from the rather enigmatic and elusive Hackman. Hackman takes things down a slightly more linear route as he chops and reorganises the main elements to compliment his own engaging melodic interpretation of the source material.

Long-time friend of the label Parris debuts on Wisdom Teeth with a unique set of steppy house mutations, including a collaboration with AD93 star Minor Science. The record begins in downtempo mode. ‘Soft Rocks With Socks’ rolls out majestically on a slo-mo drum break and a two-tone bass loop, with shimmering pads and bleeping melodies counterbalancing a deceptively punishing low end. ‘Terrapin’ - a link-up with Minor Science - is a pristinely produced 100 bpm stepper, featuring razor sharp drum synths and crystalline MIDI melodies. To close, ‘Sabor a Ceniza’ pushes the tempo up towards peak time. What begins as a broken rhythm settles into a 4x4 groove, finding the exact midpoint between Roska’s UK Funky and Margaret Dygas’s work on Perlon.

We are happy to announce our next release which is coming from RR. He is running the vinyl label Story About You from his homebase Bielefeld and he's the first ''external'' artist on our platform. The 003 is a classical house 4-tracker with a modern twist, containing quite different vibes. Expect a wide stylistic range between the peak time bomb on A1, the acid-spiced stomper on A2 and the flipside, which brings the charming roots-oriented house motives to that special release. B1 was created in collaboration with studio partner Biroll, who provided that lovely piano. The artwork is contributed by Madlen Strebel from Mainz this time.

I came across this record by chance when I was shopping at my local record shop Palace Vinyl and Chris the owner was packing his bag for a gig that coming weekend. He was listening to bits on the shop sound system and in-between a couple of records in the stack that I was checking out on my headphones I caught little bit of the A side of this one. I immediately removed the cans and made him put the record on from start to @inish.
He told me his copy wasn’t for sale and when I looked on Discogs, as is often the case I found a few pricey copies and none of them available in England. I knew at that moment I would be attempting to reissue it myself. Fortunately Walker was pretty easy to @ind and now spends his time in Portugal building an amazing self sustaining echo oasis.

Continuing to champion some of the finest underground artists and rising stars, DFTD has become a label synonymous with top tier club tracks. Although 2020 may have seen a temporary pause put on live events, it has not stopped the imprint delivering an array of releases designed with the dancefloor in mind. Now this 12” release highlights four of DFTD’s hottest tracks from the year, making a record box essential for discerning club DJs. Kicking off the A-Side with Catz ‘N Dogz ‘Revolution’, a gloriously bumpy and rave-ready cut, Gettoblaster’s ‘This Beat’ comes next, maintaining the energy with bold hats and industrial synths to boot. The Accapella of ‘This Beat’ completes the A-Side, a deep and dark spoken-word tool for DJ sets. Sorley’s label debut ‘Deadeye’ kicks off the flip side, an irresistible cut that was championed by tastemakers like Danny Howard, Michael Bibi, Matthias Tanzmann and Davie Squillace. Finally, closing out the EP is Ashibah’s ‘Devotion’, with a rumbling bassline and adrenaline-fuelled synth stabs, married together with her self-recorded vocal.

When Torbjörn Brange aka Rhythm In Progress released his first EP in 1996 he called it "Dangerous Vol. 2" for fun and confusion. 23 years later the follow-up record "Dangerous Vol. 1" comes up with four original tracks produced around 1995 – 1997 and rescued from dusty DATs straight out of Torbjörn's basement in Malmö. The tracks have the same Rhythm In Progress trademark sound that made his first release pretty sought after amongst record diggers: Fat drums, sharp hihats combined with a relaxed and refreshing approach to his very own vision of NY & NJ House!

New York producer Amo, an assiduous beatsmith and go-to force for some of the most eminent names in the game, expertly delivers a stirring four-tracker on Hector's VL Limited imprint. An off-shoot of VL Recordings, the sister label was launched as a platform for timeless releases with the avid vinyl collector in mind.
Flourishing within New York's underground house scene in the late 2000s, Amo's DJ sets earned him a reputation as a distinguished mixer before he hardened his production skills studying Recording Arts & Music Production. Later he'd establish a touring event series, GreenRoom Family, drop EPs on NG Trax, Dissonant Records, Brain On Couch and Underyourseat, whilst gaining support from Guti, Rossko, Randall M and Javier Carballo, amongst others.
"This EP has been a long time coming. I first got introduced to Amo's music via David and Chad over a year ago. We've been swapping tracks ever since. I was really impressed with his releases, thinking he could be the latest addition to the VL family. When Amo sent us more music I instantly picked these tracks for the label, I even played one out last year at our VL stage at Sunwaves. Amo fits perfectly with our musical ethos, and I'm excited to finally share this EP." - Hector
Leading the EP is 'Find Turn', a muted, oddball cut that lands with a woozy top line, propulsive drum loops, and a warbling, hypnotic vocal. 'Spitgame' slams with a bassline intensified by chunky drums. Label chief Hector and Vatos Locos sparring partner David Gtronic seize 'Find Turn' for a rerub, preserving the magnetic pull of the vocal while adding crisp, scattering percussive touches. Amo closes the EP with the spacey 'Whattosay', a moody track that's custom made for those head down moments.

Grammy award winner & multi grammy nominated Luisito Quintero grew up with the Latin American and African tradition of percussion. His father is just as much a percussionist as his uncle Carlos Nene Quintero and his cousin Roberto Quintero . He became a member of the Orquesta Simfonica de Venezuela , but soon appeared with ensembles such as Grupo Guaco and El Trabuco Venezolano and toured with Oscar D'León .
He then moved to New York, where he initially worked with Latin jazz musicians such as Willie Colón , Eddie Palmieri , Tito Puente and Celia Cruz . He then turned to the fusion of jazz, funk, salsa and African music and performed with George Benson , Herbie Hancock , Ravi Coltrane and Toshiko Akiyoshi , but also with pop musicians such as Gloria Estefan and Marc Anthony.
His First album “Percussion Maddness” was produced by Louie Vega & LQ and was released on BBE Records. Now 8 years later, re-released on Vega Records with 4 new tracks also produced by Louie Vega will be released on a double pack vinyl in two parts, one a double pack 12” and the second a double pack 7” vinyl. Italy’s Manuel De Lorenzi has released a wealth of singles to date across the likes of Moan, as.usual.music and Antura Records, as well as heading up his own ‘Monday Morning Records’, curated to give emerging artists a platform to release material. Featuring alongside him is Manchester’s rising talent Calvin Clarke, who has swiftly followed up his debut EP on Kaluki Music last year with regular gigs at Jamie Jones’ Paradise parties, Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars events and also Michael Bibi’s Solid Grooves nights.
Opening, Manuel De Lorenzi’s ‘Fun Like This’ combines oscillating frequencies and a deep bass groove with electronic bleeps and squelchy effects until ‘Paris Paris’ chugs along with crispy percussion and cowbell embellishments. Next, Calvin Clarke takes over with ‘Overdose’, a cut powered by rolling effects, distorted vocal cuts and deep stabs while ‘Thinking Out Loud’ finishes up layering jingling drums, acid snippets and staccato chords.
