House Vinyl New Releases - News

The debut release from UK based label Brick Recordings "Cracking Skies", is a three track EP written and produced by Rob Gribbin. Featuring subtle deep house and techno grooves. The attention to detail and sonic quality is evident within the music.

Skatebård is back on Untz Untz Records. This time in collaborative mode with Stiletti-Ana to present: The Finsk-Norsk Body Language Society.
The short version of the story goes: Skatebård and Stiletti-Ana meet at a party they both played at hosted by Untz Untz in Berlin 2011. Stiletti was there as part of the duo Jesse. A drum machine gets a Skate signature on it at the end of the night. Jesse remixes Skate's 'Confirmation Bias' track for Untz Untz in 2013. Fast forward to 2017 and here we are with the deal that was unknowingly signed in 2011 fulfilled.
This record was recorded, mixed & dubbed live straight to a two track stereo tape recorder, during a fine January weekend in 2017 at Stiletti's Haista II Studio on the island Suomenlinna outside Helsinki. We hope you like Standard Moderne, a Moderne Standard.

The second installment for the label comes from Sheffield based artist Tommy Vicari Jnr.The EP starts with Always Be Here, track which gives the release the name and sets up the mood with an uplifting vibe.Rudow explores more esoteric realms, bringing you into deeper states of mind.Ramshackles ventures into more dub influenced territory, expansive chords and a twisted beat make it a monster in big sound systems.Untoucome closes the EP with a heavy bassline, sprinkled with some tripped out sounds making it perfect for a closing trip.

Since '87 a 13 year old Jan Svensson AKA Villa Abo has been the back bone of Swedish electronic experimentalist group Frak and behind one of the biggest inspirations for Butter Sessions, Borft Records. As always, Jan keeps pushing the boundaries on this 4 tracker.

' Kicking it off, 'Just a 309' is a stripped-back rough and ready house track in true 90's Borft style.
On 'Mission Just Pam Pom' we are blasted with space zaps and bizzaro chords melted together with an irresistible beat and SFX from tomorrow.

The weird-o-meter is stepped up a few notches on the B Side with the sluggish yet hypnotic burn on 'Separated Together'.
A bonus collaborative effort on 'Pony-Flute' by Jan and another Frak member Duo J encapsulates us with a dramatic introduction of flute like synths and dark atmospheres taking us into the underworld...

Mirror Test' conjures that rare mood between darkness and elation, contemplation and celebration, and drives it home with an infectious, jacking rhythm section which recalls the late-80s NY club music of Boyd Jarvis and Paul Simpson, and labels like Easy Street and Fourth Floor, but imbues the sound with a toughness and precision only possible today. Analog synth figures, glassy and angular, ricochet around the track, trading jabs with funky snare work and robotic, stabby chord patterns to create a hook-laden machine groove which demands repeated listening.
The record's B-side feature, 'Replace Yourself,' is the subtler, dreamier, more futuristic of the two. Unmistakably urban with its swinging, bottom-heavy groove and strange, architectural chord work, it seduces and transports. 'Replace Yourself' dares you to do exactly that.

Merc return with the second in the next phase of E-Versions !

As ever, MARK E's best selling and precision club jams project delivers big things for discerning dancers

Here we have a reload of easily one of Mark's finest moments
The Womack & Womack rework which made his name, certainly with the likes of Giles Peterson introducing a bright new star to a wider audience appears again here for the first time since its original release back in 2005. A bona fide classic !

Plastic People has never been available on vinyl (only as a bonus cut on his 2010 'Works' CD Comp)
So it's a fitting addition to this majestic platter !
Merc to the future !

Following a joint live performance in 2016, Butter Sessions present the latest collaborative effort from Albrecht La'Brooy (Analogue Attic) & Sleep D (Butter Sessions).
This EP sees AL & SD blend their respective styles in a stimulating way. From 50 begins the EP with steady 909 grooves and a subtle oscillating acid bass that builds into another dimension. Hotham breaks the pace with atmospheric space leads looking down on a mountain of kick drums.
Banksia is the most psychedelic of the four, planting seeds of heavily resonating synths atop of floating drum rhythms and warm melodies. Lastly, Sleeping Patterns takes it down a few notches into a daydream of flute-like synths and distant nostalgic vocals.

"With the 7th release IAZIKZAZUBAMI , Michael Claus & CM-4 , Joakim Hellgren and Garben presents 4 strong cuts full of deep raw acid grooves which all be made directly for the club ."

Creme Organization's latest missive comes from Fabio Monesi, an Italian with a gritty house sound that is aimed squarely at the club. He's served up punchy beats on labels like Russian Torrent versions as well as his own Wilson Records before now and has a simple but effective sound. 'Riot' kicks us off with rock slid kicks and lithe synth stabs fleshing out the macho groove. Clever vocal samples bring some steaminess and ensure this one will do plenty of damage on the floor. 'Last Friday' is a raw and lo-fi affair with rattling, sharp edged hits and hissing synths all softened with jazzy chords. House drums and rolling bass prop it up in groovy fashion, then 'Reduction' is a frazzled brew of spiting hits, jerking machine grooves and busted frequencies that is as raw and tough as you like. Last of all, the excellent 'Ozyork' rounds us out with punchy drum programming, intoxicating and off kilter chords and brain frying sonic imperfections that are perfectly imperfect. Add in a deep acid line and you have a surefire house bomb with real meat in its bones.

Two time Grammy nominated Felix Da Housecat kickstarts his new label with three original tracks showcasing his timeless production. Founders Of Filth Volume One features the legendary Jamie Principle, who found fame as Frankie Knuckles vocalist and more recently starring in the 2017 Gorillaz album. Montreal DJ and producer Clarian also features on the debut release, concluding the stellar line-up.
A career spanning over thirty years, Felix dreams of going back to basics with his new label, 'an imprint where no rules apply.. you can be as creative as you want to be, as a community. I just got so tired of fighting labels and for my people to shine, it went on deaf ears'. Born in Detroit, raised in Chicago, Felix has also been inspired by the dance scene that is emerging in Montreal, 'I was very impressed by how people are truly into their art.. it's about your love for the craft not for the money'.
The Guardian - 'The flamboyant Chicago house doyen' The Fader - 'A House Pioneer...'
Setting the tone for the EP, In Thee Now exposes a true master at work, demonstrating Felix's passion for the dancefloor. Transforming into his alias for Know Thyself, Aphrohead and Clarian deliver a warm and playful classic. Taking no prisoners, It's Your World brings in the powerful vocals of Jamie Principle, layered over an immensely catchy rhythm and concluding the EP with a dazzling production.
Felix has reached dizzying heights over his career, releasing on Global Cuts, Defected, Crosstown Rebels among others. Remixing artists including; Kylie Minogue, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna and Gwen Stefani. Felix has also previously collaborated with Diddy, James Murphy, and Miss Kittin.

Kerri Chandler. The Shelter NYC. Institutions. What else can be said about these pillars of the deep house community Freddy Sanon's seminal club created a code for living, beyond the dancefloor. The ripples of which are still being felt today in dance music. The Shelter was a way of life, a sound, an ideology. 'The Shelter' was the clubs first release on it's foray into actually putting records out. To have KC drop the first record on your label was a coup to say the least, but this was actually another pivotal benchmark in an already fruitful, collaborative union between the super producer and the club / institution.
As expected the energy on this record is high, it's that deep church influenced soulful house music that kicks in all the right places! An ode to a very special, particular dance-floor and moment in NYC club history. A true blue classic of it's ilk, featuring all the classic KC details, tough drums, soulful vocal snatches and vamping organs and horns. Across 4 different mixes Kerri gives us a blow by blow flavour of what The Shelter may have felt like! Classic material from beginning to end. Do not miss this one!
This has always been a sought after 12" due to it's classic status and has often changed hands on-line for collectors prices. Now it is available again, re-mastered, re-pressed and re-released with permission and in conjunction with Shelter Records, New York City and featuring the original 1992 label artwork.

The reality is a relative concept, and our life is made up of fantasy and illusion. Our music is the key of our thoughts, and our sound can help us to discover it. 'Nothing is real' express our vision in a period where information is false and manipulated most of the time'
Alberto Iovine and Alessandro Fumagalli aka Modular Project announce the launch of their new label, in partnership with Rebirth Records.
The 001 is the brand new work from Jay Shepheard. With a steady stream of releases starting back in 2007 Jay is an established and well recognised staple of the scene. He has released on a diverse range of labels including Diynamic, Pets Recordings, Freerange, Buzzin Fly, Poker Flat, as well as his own respected Retrofit imprint. Nominated for best Deep House and Nu Disco artist in the Beatport awards, Jay also played many of the world's most respected venues including Fabric, Panorama Bar, Secretsundaze and Boiler Room.
The three tracks that make the 'Heat EP' are rich in depth and quality with trippy synth lines, strong basslines and grumbling FX, giving us a taste of Jay's new musical direction.
Modular Project take 'Heat, Nothingness & Unification' into a spaced out version with luscious melodies, post-punk guitars and new wave vibes, driving us into a deeper journey.

Following on from a hugely successful 2014, culminating in a nomination for 'Label of the Year' at Gilles Peterson's Worldwide awards, Rhythm Section International is back with a real statement of intent for 2015. Stepping up for RS004 is Canadian producer 'Local Artist', who delivers a 3 track EP via his native Vancouver, his second release following a stunning debut on Anthony Naples' Proibito label. On the Feelings EP, Local Artist presents 3 very different tracks, tied together by a decidedly dubwise approach to production. From the glaring dub siren in 'feelings (digital dub)' to the hazy step of 'Place I' via the uplifting shuffle of Ozone, the record is as versatile as it is effective. The clever use of delay, spaced out atmospherics and sound-system dynamics on this 12' has been championed by the likes of Ben UFO, Osunlade, Noise in my Head, Alex Nut, Damiano Von Eckhert and Jack J who have all been vocal early advocates of the release. Occupying the grey area between house, dub and techno, the EP also doffs it's cap to the sound of the Canadian Riviera, a la Mood Hut, while paying respects to the pioneering studio work of King Tubby and Rhythm & Sound.

Raum Musik 100 is coming from Edgardo Alonso better known as Sakro. He is hailing from Mexico and we have been following his work for quite some time now. Therefor we are quite happy that we finally found the perfect match of tracks to put this single together. The title track of the EP "No time to explain" already attracted a lot of attention during the summer when a handful of djs that were lucky enough to already have it, have been dropping the tune on some bigger stages and festivals and it quickly became a sought after track. We are very happy about our 100th release and as always we hope you enjoy the music as much as we do. Cheers and happy birthday Raum !

Tablon is a new France based independent record label. Supporting artists with a characteristic style, tablon releases music by passion, developing its own vision of today's and tomorrow's dance music.
After a first EP by Arnaud linked in a certain way to Greece, tablon 002 will come from Istanbul. Far from us the idea to make a worldwide music label or refer to any old war between two countries. It just happened like that. Sarp makes amazing music and we are proud to present his new EP. It is called "I care because you don't", the artwork is made by Nefelie and the mastering by Mathieu Berthet in Paris. As we care a lot about the vinyl thing, our releases appear first on 12" and then in digital.
"Hi, I am Sarp Yilmaz. No, not your household name, not the next megaDj, not the chart topper, just a guy with some machines and a passion in his heart, who is supported by some other guy who runs this young, fresh label, who is mad enough to release music that is not bassline obsessed, not fitting any of the genre slots of your favorite online store, that is as much hip hop and jazz as it's house. No, this will not destroy your dancefloor, nor will it make you dance like there's tomorrow, it's moody, sometimes even depressive, but I made it with a smile on my face. It's trippy, it's glitchy and it's slow. Music, I make to cure the sicknesses of my heart. Hope it puts a smile on your face too. I care because you don't".
Sarp Yilmaz - I care because you don't EP

Here's the second volume of "10 Years of Digital Traffik" : four multi-purpose and innovative tracks from the Traffik family.
Supernova takes the pace right on 'Light Up' : tweaked pads and a tripping bass with an irresistible, effortless pause and re-start.
'Tingog' by Basti Grub shuffling a tribal vibe enhanced with fine atmospherics and piano melodies.
Bimas presents 'Breakstone' : an high quality deep-tech track influenced by ambient-house with ambiguous rhythmical and sweet voices.
'Flair' by Malatoid offers listeners an hypnotic trip between an actual tech-house and '90s house sonorities.
Another Various Artists from the Digital Traffik crew not to be missed!

Following the astounding success of their first release with Chaos In The CBD, YAM Recordings return with the first installment of their You And Music compilation series.
This 5-track release features Leonidas, MSSS, Sofatalk, Tom Esselle and Z Lovecraft. Compiled by shop owners Theo & Tom and born of relationships forged at YAM Records on Rye Lane, it represents both local and international talent that they've had the pleasure of crossing paths with over the past 3 years.
Tom Esselle's 'Le^let' kicks things off with a traditional Guadeloupean folk song re-worked for the club. Driven by tropical percussion and a hefty bass line, the call-and-response vocal elevates the track.
MSSS follows with 'This Is A Modern Drugs Party'. This track chugs along, interlaced with African and Far Eastern influences, while tuned percussion adds a hypnotic element. Modern drugs party indeed.
On the flip, Italian maestro Sofatalk offers up 'Truth Theme', an afro- broken-beat masterpiece prime for the summer. Polyrhythmic percussion, twisted horn samples and vibe solos carry the release from the nightclub to the beach.
Leonidas takes things back to the floor on 'Shesha Dub)'. This analogue hardware session delivers crisp hats, acid bass lines and synth stabs aplenty. The syncopated rhythms drive the track through five-and-a-half minutes of pure groove.
Finally, Z Lovecraft closes the compilation with 'Oceanic' a live jam recorded in one take. This track invokes memories of video games, beach life and sun-kissed afternoons, transporting the listener to an audio oasis via a digital ocean.

Club Mondo 2000 is a golden weapon, five swampy ambient house tracks for the dancefloor. Must have.

Another groovy Techhouse strike by the lovely label. Comes with remixes by Lula Circus and Dole & Kom.

Lost In Time continues on it's path exploring timeless underground house music with Number 8 in the series. The 'Last Step' EP focuses on the extraordinary production talents of Tuccillo, the Italian musician widely regarded for his Unblock studio. This record marks a deviation in direction for Tuccillo, who is recently returning to his roots, making stripped down minimal dubs aimed directly at the dance floor. LOSTIME008 includes four new cuts which can best be defined as 'Romanian' style in essence. In fact Raresh from a:rpia:r and Livio & Roby from Premiesku are early supporters.

The title track kicks things off with rolling percussion with more than a hint of latino attitude. Dubby stabs and detroit style chords soon join the party and intricate changes in the drum programming keep subtly lifting the track throughout. 'Changed' opts for a totally different tact, opening with lush, dreamy pads which evolve alongside rolling snare patterns and bass grooves to reveal a heavily harmonised spoken word vocal.

On The flip side, 'Drum Engine' opens with feint, delayed vocal stabs which are joined by celestial, swirling pads, before being abruptly stripped away to reveal a menacing growling bass Finally, 'Titled', takes thing in a more minimal direction with airy pads and acid bleeps panning around the mix, showing off Tuccillo's immense production talent.

LOSTIME008 'Last Step' is out 22nd May on Lost In Time.

Driftmusic, version: H / Gry / 002 - Further explorations of the deepest roots of Avrokosm, where occult still means hidden. Three cuts of electronic will, from the primordial ooze with a desire to simply be. Out of the gate, crown of light, come on, come on, this is now. Twisted 808s, melodic tripmuzik seduction, like the flares of 1000 suns. Swim through space with us.

REPRESSED !!
With much patience and perseverance, we proudly present 'Face To Face Recordings'. The new Berlin imprint, owned and operated by techno veteran Tim Xavier, that strives to bring like-minded techno producers together to explore the tough yet sexier side of track production.
Deepchild, the talented and highly sought after live performer & producer kicks off the inaugural release with an innovative EP entitled 'Haitian Rum Runner.' The title track comes complete with precise drum-work, sleekly flanged double time percussion and an epic effective vocal describing the brutal task of being a Haitian Rum Runner. On the flip, Deepchild delivers "Brutal Sea Shanty" a bass fuelled floor packer with nicely interwoven synth stabs and smooth female vocal touches.
On remix duties, Tim Xavier adds a clever a'capella edit' for the tooly types on the A side, while JSTX (the duo of Jamaica Suk & Tim Xavier) remix 'Haitian Rum Runner' for a version perfectly pointed towards the cavernous Berghain main floor and those intimidating speaker stacks. For those fans of the digital realm, 'Items & Things' Miro Pajic provides a remix stripping down the techno and pushing things into a slightly housier direction.
While it's often difficult to capture the exact idea and direction a label plans to go, the premier release on Face To Face has shown confident marks in the path we're prepared to pave - the combination of fresh ideas, interesting producers and quality music designed to move the feet and the minds of those who love forward thinking music.

REPRESSED !!
Rivulet Records are continuing their release just where the compilation at the beginning of the year left us. Again bringing 4 artists together on one release shifting between dusty, mellow house and some how twisted techno. Peonies from russia, who has been releasing tapes on his own label - Summer Night' since 1 year, sets the mood for the record with his track - Soft Light' which sounds almost like a dim, fading memory of a club night full of classy house records. The rework by Ital, the head behind - Lovers Rock' from New York, builds up the mood in a complete different, driving and technoid atmosphere. The B-Side is the first cooperation between two very old friends, Berni from Trier and Jonas Palzer from Berlin, both part of Portray Records. Their tracks are playing with the same kind of hauntology as the A—Side, building up a sound that is familiar and distant in the same way - referring to old records by Boards of Canada as well as to the contemporary sound of - House' at its best meaning.

*Paper Recording are back on vinyl with a fantastic debut 12" from Italian duo Soundersons, who have come up through the
underground Bologna house scene.

Can't Get Enough is a deep electro-funk slice of nu disco with Diana G on vocals. It's got 80s synths and squelches, vocal hooks a plenty, clonking percussion, Rhodes and that Metro Area / Tom Tom Club vibe.

Parts I and II are split in to vocal and instrumental over one side on continuous play for maximum dance floor action.

On the flip, the mighty DJ Spinna brings his A game with a deep NYC take that is underground house at it's best. He uses synths, arps and the vocal to slowly build the remix that hits it's peak at the end.

Finally Education finished things off with a raw disco cut up that hits the floor running and keeps going full pelt. One for the dancers.

Special remarks Artwork by Dj Fett burger

Ring, ring! Hot on the heels of the transcendental and mystical "Vibe Telemetry" long-player of the man like Telephones, we proudly present: Vibe Remixes. Some of you might notice the irony between the lines. A producer who goes by the name of Call Super is remixing an artist known as Telephones. But, we rather rivet you on his 8:59 long skippy dub journey that recalls (pun intended) an atmosphere that could be found in the space between Smith & Mighty, the LTJ Bukem of his youth, Italian house records, British Balearics and bass affine music (of whatever providence). A magical mystery. But we don't hang up here. DJ Fett Burger is treating the other side and only he himself knows how he made what he did. 14:51 min of almost every style ever invented in the scope of house music. Designed for people blessed with an everlastingly short attention span and DJs on the lookout for a toilet break and a coffee break or whichever break, it leaves its listener speechless. And: it's so much fun that once it's over, you want to redial Fett Burger's number immediately.

It takes us almost three years to complete his first album, but finally "Sun Storm" by Above Smoke is ready to go. Nine tracks, Double vinyl pack. Full cover with special artwork by Pablo Fidel Moncayo. Coming soon worldwide by Juno DistributionA

SITUATIONISM brings you a deep soulful house release by BitterSuite and Andre Espeut.
'These Thoughts' sees BitterSuite take the undeniably soulful vocals of Andre Espeut & melts them over a delicious deep house groove, warmed with chords & brought to the boil by a jazz funk fuelled live bass line.
Julian Sanza brings his unique production style with this deeper edged, conga driven remix, building a truly hypnotic boogie experience, taking the vocals cleverly into a more dubstyle vibe.
Situation take things a little more straight up deep soul house with sharp beats over a real fat old school synth bassline covered with the deepest chords, warm synths & of course Andre.
Dan D3 delivers a moving house dub remix that hauntingly draws you into its infectious filter heavy trancelike groove ...built for late night shenanigans.

Round 2 of "Voyage Direct". Another EP from the collaboration between fellows Chris Carrier and Rhythm&Soul. As usual, tight grooves and some hypnotic and futuristic modern vibes. Another cosmic musical trip...

Das Komplex or Marcin to his parents has been steadily putting out incredible music for the last few years, building on an extremely well tailored collection of tracks they have started hitting all sorts of people's radar, no one more so than Dj Harvey who has been supporting his releases at some of his big shows.

A1. Under Feet - Whilst the people of Australia are dancing, the people of Poland are sleeping. Or vice versa...Starting off with some lcd fuelled vibes before a psychedelic phasing disco loop appears out of the smoke before twisting the track out in a slightly different direction.

A2. W Podwodnym Pasniku - Funky bass, filtered chords and a familiar vocal sample combine for this almost early french house sounding track circa '96.

B1. Bearded Dwarf - Very much sounding like Prins Thomas has been at work here, a big room Scandinavian sounding house track (via Poland!).
Big atmospherics, other-worldly vocal samples, lovely guitar snatches and driving piano with the addition of some tribal flute!

B2. When - Our favourite cut from the EP, cleverly using a Herbie Hancock sample and layering with disco sounds, vocals and a deep driving bass line to produce his trademark atmospheric, moody house sound.
As always pressed on 180gm vinyl. Please hunt down and destroy dance floors accordingly. Keep Sydney Open

Alex Agore needs little introduction, continually at the forefront of Deep House, his outstanding A-Dubz EP on Pocket Money Records delivers 4 killer slices of NY-inspired house.
