The always innovative and underground label that is Catch Recordings is back with release number eight, and once again it is a compelling offering featuring four tracks from DoubtingThomas.
That man is better known as Aurélien Rivière and has released on the label before, as well as on the likes of Metroline, Amam and Organic-Music in both EWP and album format.
He is a regal at the finest clubs around Europe as a DJ and he proves that once again his vision of music sets the tone for other artists. Opener Aurelio Buen Dia is a seductive and captivating track with rich little details marbling a deep rooted drum line.
Expansive chords add a sense of scale and colour, pained vocals heighten the tender mood and the overall result is a musical, enchanting sound that is full of charm.
Next up, Low.fi Osaka feat Odd Soul is a perfectly reduced brew of minimal beats and synthetic textures overlayed with some sombre and beautifully melancholic piano chords that really encapsulate the feel of the track.
It is a restrained but impactful piece for the more considered dance floors. Then comes White Post Lane Feat Santiago Posada (Drums & Melodica), a more spaced out and intoxicatingly lazy beat with sonorous chords and tumbling drums.
Random hits and freaky little sounds add intrigue as it progresses, slowly but surely. The Changes has rich trumpet lines, akin to late night Jazz floating above downbeat drums delivering a thoroughly heart broken affair for the dead of night that slow emerges into another lush groove. This is expressive, individual and truly passionate music that will deliver a unique experience when it comes to electronic music.

Jimpster serves up the first single entitled Crave from ahead of his forthcoming Silent Stars LP complete with remixes from Atjazz and Flabaire. In its original form Crave, which features the vocals from hotly-tipped Londoner Florence Rawlings, is an emotionally charged electronic torch song guaranteed to get inside your head from the very first listen. The spacey chords and punctuating string stabs bring hints of the 80's to mind whilst Florence's gentle vocal floats in the air like a fresh sea breeze. In addition to the mesmerizing original we present two brilliant and contrasting remixes from one of the UK's legendary producers Atjazz as well as Paris' rising star Flabaire whose D.KO Records has been dropping gem after gem since 2013. Atjazz spins Crave into outerspace with a fat, driving groove and twisted sonics making for an incredibly deep and forward-looking slice of aural gold. In contrast, Flabaire looks back to the early 00's for his classic soulful house rework which calls to mind the sounds of Spinna and vintage Naked Music. Closing the release we have another original track entitled Where You Are featuring Berlin based US native Khalil Anthony. Here we find Jimpster doing what he does best, creating a sublime late night club track with his deft musical touch making this one that will stand out in the crowd.
A staple album since its release in 1998, 'Heavenly' is as relevant today as it was twenty years ago. It turned heads everywhere, got the underground scene buzzing and set dance floors ablaze like an accomplished pyromaniac. Now, the album is back for another round of Techno-flavored goodness.
Revisited, tweaked and rearranged by Kevin Saunderson under his E-Dancer moniker, the album not only comes with additional material in addition to the 1998 originals, but is also poised to fuel a number of exclusive E-Dancer live shows. A collection of songs sure to keep the dance floor ablaze for decades, 'Heavenly' (Revisited) is set to make history once more.

Louie 'Balo' Guzman dropped this fine slab of NY Garage House, his debut EP, way back in 1994 on the legendary Eightball Records. This 4 tracker showcases all the US influences that were evident on a lot of subsequent UK Garage records, It's all here - the deep rolling bassline's, pads and that killer mid 90's era drum programming, shuffling, metallic, funky. A dream for the DJ's, tools packed with pure soul! Across the 4 cuts Guzman drops a bevy of styles, each track sounding fresh and most importantly, as we said before - funky! As we all know, this era of dance music from the US was extremely fertile, sometimes there are records that deserve more props, often coveted by the digging cognoscenti, and this is one of them, as good as the Mood II Swing's, the MAW's, Blaze's or any of the other production outfits you'd care to mention. Somewhere in-between early Tribal, Deep House, and Garage you'll find the 'Boogiebalo EP'. A rare record that's a tough one to get your hands on and a truly worthy addition to any self respecting House-heads record stash for real.
The "Boogiebalo EP" has been lovingly re-mastered and re-pressed with the original Eightball label artwork intact in full conjunction with Eightball Records, NYC for 2017. don't sleep!

Originally released in 2008 'The Lab' is one of the definitive Tsuba releases from the now disbanded Peace Division.
The undeniable Peace Division groove which made PD one of the most respected duos in house music is in full force throughout this EP. The beat-perfect arrangements that Drake and Henry were known for are here too but there's an increased warmth throughout with the use of sparse chords, subtly used samples and gentle layering of sounds.
From the heavy John Ciafone-esque vibes of Theory and "We Want You" to the smooth liquidity of Get Over it via the futurist updates of the traditional house template of Basik of In My Mind this EP is Peace Division at their very best.

It is summer time in Nang land which means the dials are being set to Balearic. Step forward our all-around good chap, friend and producer buddy Pete Herbert. He has teamed up with Bali based musician and keyboard player Martin Denev to deliver an album of the finest Bali-inspired Balearic House. Hot and balmy evenings here we come.
Recorded on the tropical island of Bali, the album swings from Balearic grooves, to sun-filled terrace house, seaside electronic and swimming-pool funk. We open up with "Batu Karang", summery key stabs, lazy drum machine set the album tone hot, low-slung and swimming in positivity. Things take a more electronic turn with "Time" with its twisting synth-lines and locked on sun-drenched groove.
House music royalty Robert Owens swings by the cabana for a very special guest vocal appearance on "Pass Me By" next. His smooth and powerful soulful vocal compliment the pool terrace house grooves and sneaky thumb piano. As ever, Robert does not disappoint. To close off Side A the title track "Made In The Shade" gives us a slice of Nu Disco summer swing with funky strat and more cowbell of course in for good measure.
The flip side of the album opens up with a hands in the air terrace anthem. House pianos, punchy synth hits and beach disco groove all the way. "Sun Fish" takes things again in an electronic direction. Meandering lead synth lines, walking synth bass giving the perfect back drop to this island hopping anthem. Recent single "Night Boat" is next. Darting firefly arpeggios and lush keyboard layers prevail here. We end on a high with the up-tempo Gamalan inspired "Ruby Star" sending us out on a ocean deep wave..
Welcome to Nang Balearic airlines. Your pilots Pete and Martin hope you enjoy your flight.
Physical Therapy assembles a flurry of kicks and thick breaks around deep subs and tender harmonies. Lush moments are balanced with saturated rhythms, pushing the momentum in each tune. Spoken words skip over dubbed out synths on More Sugar; always a euphoric treat on the dance floor! On the B-Side, PT flexes for the verdant tropical techno of String Thing. Play at 45 for the Desensitized Mix or slow things down to 33 for a Balearic Sensitized Mix. Both mixes available direct from the Sounds Of Beaubien Ouest Bandcamp.

A brand new instalment in the Trans Afryka series, that is loosely inspired by the sounds of the black continent and devoted to club-oriented Afro-House.
Riding the waves of success with sold out volume 1, Zambon employed three talented producers to bring more goods to the table.
Transatlantyk regulars like DJ Dook and Universo are joined by a newcomer Tamten and together deliver a bomb of an EP!
Aptly titled 'Afro Acid' by DJ Dook is exactly what it says on the sleeve - raw DJ tool with squelchy samples, mantra-like vocal loop and focused vibe. Think of an soundtrack to a futuristic version of Apocalypse Now. Just the perfect peaktime beats to heat the party a little bit more.
'Praise Song' by Universo is built on a wandering bassline reminiscent of Malian blues with tribal chants, penny whistles and various sorts of percussions on top. This beautiful groove rolls and rolls without end, like an endless summer.
'Ukukhnaya' by Tamten is the most atmospheric out of the three, fusing New Age midi sounds with the vibes of South African deep house.
After the sell-out success of Boogie Café's Black series we bring you the remixes. On the A, Original House master DJ Nature gets Admin's 'Flute Loops' and takes it peak time for the dancefloor; Serious Nature business.
Flip it over and get loose to Admin's remix of 'Bossa' by Chezz... taking this deep soulful track and giving it his jazzy trademark swing.
Early support from Neil Diablo , Alfresco disco, Melon Bomb DJs , Dave Harvey, Noel Watson.

Night Tide founder Eluize returns to the label with her follow up to last year's debut release 'Talk In Technicolour". Her latest five track sonic trip 'For the Forgetful' follows 24 hours searching to be lost, finding comfort in the dance floor, time spent after hours and the day that follows. It seeks out soaring highs and sweeping lows covering all energies. 'Slate' opens. A deep offering, subtle and enthralling. Bright eyed keys, smooth strings, a snare that snaps and a swelling sub alludes to what's to come. The tale continues with 'For the Forgetful", a hypnotic, punchy, deep house workout, alluring and sensual it beckons with whispered promises, abyssal toms, twisted pads and intricate percussion. We go harder on the flip, ruthless, pushing, pulsing 'The Blackout' shakes away any last doubt and drives the sojourn into the night along with memories you'll try to retrieve tomorrow. Eluize's take on techno, the bass pumps beneath a grinding acid line, interspersed with echoed bleeps and a cutting lead. The build continues. 'Second Valley' is ecstatic. Deep house meets trance-esque undertones, for peak time moments or as the day breaks. Its cinematic soundscape speaks to Eluize's penchant for the theatric as classical instruments twist through synthetic sounds. We close with 'Rest (Refrain)' which brings back themes from the session had in an ambient context, mustering the mood of recovery, waking, confused in the gentle afternoon light, when memories and motifs from the night before linger on the mind in gentler forms. Red D is back for a follow up to his brilliant Chez EP which dropped last year and this time he's going for the jugular! The man responsible for
some of the finest house music of the last decade as FCL (with San Soda) and FCL vs VFB (with Motor City Drum Ensemble) knows a thing or two about
what makes the dancefloor lose its s**t, with tracks such as Let's Go Seven, It's You and Can We Try all testament to this.
When he's not DJing at the likes of Panorama Bar or hosting his own stage at Tomorrowland, Red D can be found running his own mighty fine We Play House label from his Ghent HQ.
Moan The Mania opens this release in suitably back to the raw fashion! A minimal drum machine groove and clipped bassline lay the foundations of this tribute to all things jacking with a sprinkling of porno groans to help you on your way. This is sleazy machine funk at it's very best. Next up we have a remix from Eli Escobar, the native New Yorker who has recently been making major waves following the release of his LP Happiness on Classic.
As someone who has remixed the likes of Lana Del Rey, Kim Ann Foxman, Honey Dijon and Holy Ghost we knew he'd be the man to take Red D's baton and run with it.
Keeping the overall vibe of the original intact
Eli cranks the energy further with additional in your face percussion parts and a couple of perfectly placed build ups. Flipping over we have Chase The Cat which takes a similarly stripped-back and minimal approach as Moan The Mania but goes heavier on the 707 beats. Finally we have Dusk Or Dawn closing the release with a deeper mood.
Simple FM synth stabs and glassy chimes provide a tender and naive-sounding counterpoint to the basic beats.
Red D proving once again that limiting your tools and not over-complicating things can often have so much more impact when it comes to house music.
righton's boutique house label Black Key Recordskicks off 2017 with a fantastic EP from label newcomer Cinthie.Cinthie is a well established force in Berlin: as well as being a resident at key spots (IPSE) and Humboldthain Club-where she spins heady vinyl only sets-she runs three much loved labels and collectives in Beste Modus, Unison Wax and Beste Freunde. As such, she is a true leader of the underground house scene who also runs a studio complex in Berlin, and so is very much at the heart of the house conversation. Kicking things off is the excellent 'House Rhythms', a rugged, bass driven, deep house cut with flabby drums and snares and icy hi hats all sounding informed by classic deep house greats like Ron Trent. Warm, soul infused pads emanate from the core and the whole unhurried affair really sucks you in with its cosy and romantic atmosphere.
The second splendid offering is 'Liberty,' a much rawerand direct cut designed for peak time sets. Again it is riddled with jazzy chords that have real soul, but the drums are exposed and banging and the whole thing barrels along at a sweat inducing pace. This is a typically classy offering from both artist and label that kicks off 2017 in real style.

Kalakuta Soul Records proudly presents the Homewreckers new full length album, Machinekiss. The Ruhr valley-raised trio have been heavily involved in the underground dance music scene for many years and the soulfulness of their output is unquestioned. Now Machinekiss might come as their masterpiece. Recorded over the past three years the album´s nine tracks evolved out of a long in-depth investigation of blues and funk recordings from 1910 to 1980. As the sole sonic sources, the musicians - Johannes Ehmann, Gregor Pottmeier and Krischan Wesenberg - use their own music collections, making the work a reflection of their personal and collaborative history and backgrounds.Micro particles of guitar chords, organ sounds and drum elements reappear in new contexts and are fused with contemporary synthesizer and bass motifs. The results are deep, rhythmic, complex and eccentric, leading the listener into the melancholic, more obscure sides of urban life. The Homewreckers have previously released on Thee Blak Label/Radikal Fear (Chicago), Groove Attack Productions (Cologne), Unique Records (Düsseldorf) and Circus Company (Paris). Featured Artists Johannes Ehmann Bass, Digging, Sampling, Arrangement, Slicing Gregor Pottmeier Organs, Reeds, Fractured sampling, Dequantizising Krischan Wesenberg Drums, Engineering, Shaping, Balancing

Ben Gomori's Monologues Records brings two of its most popular releases to vinyl after a long wait. Laurence Guy's 'Les Mur' EP signalled the start of a great run for the London producer, with releases following on Church, Dirt Crew Recordings and Fort Romeau's Cin Cin. The title track is a graceful, deep piano roller, while 'Sunlite' goes into chuggier, synthier territory.
Young French talent Leon Revol has released on Apersonal and Kolour LTD with some very fine sample-heavy grooves, but 'Clear Definition (Dub Mix)' shows he's not short on his own ideas - with a tinge of the early Herbert sound to it. 'Eulogy For Hip-Hop' takes some lush disco strings and whirls them into a romantic slice of early doors class.

Carlo Troja aka Don Carlos is active as a DJ from the late 70's. He debuted as a producer towards the end of the 80's with the single 'Alone' , which became one of the cult tracks of the international Deep House scene. His productions have always mixed House rhythms with afro-american jazz sounds, verging sometime towards disco, sometime towards progressive house or electronic soul. Spanish musical genius Henry Saiz provided one of Balance's most memorable efforts on the 19th volume, utilising vinyl, cassette, reel-to-reel tapes and over 100 field recordings to create an incredible patchwork of sounds that came together as a beautiful whole. Ever keen to provide something unique, he returns to the series for Balance presents Natura Sonoris: an expansive mix comprised completely of exclusives from his award-winning label.
I wanted to do something special for the 10th anniversary of Natura Sonoris' he explains, and also it's been six years since my last CD mix—also for Balance—so we thought it was the perfect timing to do a new collaboration.' As such, he has used only exclusive and unreleased tracks from his label family, many specially commissioned for this continuous 140-minute long mix. Upcoming releases get a debut airing, firm favourites from previous years get new reworks, and Saiz himself provides a slew of new productions.
The ghosts of dark '80s electro-pop like Depeche Mode hover in the tortured vocals and dramatic mood of Saiz-penned opener Lone Wolf. Muted chimes abound on Hal Incandeza's Contacto, providing the perfect segue way into the hypnotic marimba arpeggios of Bufi's Bird Song. Things take a global twist with the African and Latin rhythms and melodies of RIP BESTIA and Landikhan and deeper turns via A Friend Of Marcus and Saiz's shimmering remix of Damabiah. Joep Mencke's Sonder picks up the energy with its driving beats and strong melodies, before a double helping of the masterful Brassica gives the mix a more intense, direct edge and healthy doses of breaks and acid.
The mix takes on a more chugging, energetic feel with Marc Marzenit's The Walrus and the detuned 8-bit melody madness of Victoria Rodriguez's Moon On A Bright Day, followed by an ascent into euphoric melody with Brian Cid's Luminous Black and Saiz & Tentacle's synth-tastic The Prophetess. The mellifluous vocals of Saiz's The Light get a gorgeous, piano heavy update courtesy of bRUNA, providing a standout moment in the mix, with the stark contrast of Saiz's remix of Sistema's Entreé a near-beatless interlude that again recalls those '80s greats in its emotive melodies.
The final third of the mix comprises largely of a masterclass in production from Saiz, such as the glistening chimes of his Petar Dundov collaboration No Name and the warped hooks of his remix of NVBSL's Woodhouse. It's punctuated by a brooding, sprawling epic from Voltaeric, with the intense sound design and deep atmospheres of Sandman, and closed with another Spanish musical genius Henry Saiz provided one of Balance's most memorable efforts on the 19th volume, utilising vinyl, cassette, reel-to-reel tapes and over 100 field recordings to create an incredible patchwork of sounds that came together as a beautiful whole. Throughout Saiz peppers the mix with samples from his own productions, layering them subtly with other tracks to great effect, and across nearly two-and-a-half hours he twists and turns at just the right times to ensure this is a captivating listen that captures a range of moods.
I wanted to showcase the spirit of the label's music and its eclectic musical variety and also create a coherent speech that brings the listener to many places,' explains Saiz, that "journey" experience that I try to create in my sets which is what I like to find when I listen to an album, a set or any piece of art that uses narrative. So I tried to create an intense and visual musical experience.'
Nowadays it makes no sense to release a mix that is something the audience can find in a free podcast or a club show so I wanted to use only new exclusive tracks. Also for me, it's kinda "boring" to do the same thing you do every weekend—even if people like it and expect that. It's more challenging and fresh to work with new stuff and build something up from scratch.'

They could do weird edits or make eastern influenced dance music, collect gear and sit home or adapt library music for the dance floors.
Or they could get together and make The Secret Weapon.

Mixing abstract hip-hop and house, Blutch's style is mind-blowing and striking, with touches of groove and heat. Borrowing from Pépé Bradock, Francis Inferno Orchestra,Cuthead, Andrés, Shigeto and Massive Attack, Blutch has forged a unique musical identity all along his career, always with this strong desire to combine several universes into a single entity. In January 2015 Blutch revealed his creative genius with his first EP, Equilibrium. He will soon revisit a voluptuous set mixing trip hop, the softness of electronica and a hypnotic deephouse. (r)equilibrium unites 9 artists in one project that representsBlutch' diverse musical spectre.Friends, idols, people who we loved to collaborate with, spend time with, get to know better. The (r) stands for the remix, the reinterpretation of Blutch' EP Equilibrium. Each artist gives new life to one of the tracks, spicing them up to their liking. Cutheadtransforms « Skyview » in a straight-up house floor killer while Maxime Dangles takes « Chocolates & Hamburgers » to gloomy, cold electronic heights. Between these two extremes the music gradually and cleverly evolves track by track. Melodiesinfonieopens up in complete serenity with his take on « A. » which takes us straight into summer with our feet in the sand. Tito Wun follows up perfectly with his version of Wildstar' that is stacked with groovy samples. Next up is Keroué, member of the band Fixpensill. He puts his rhymes on a stellar edit by YWNWA. Jenovah choses to take Deep Diving' on a bass-driven path while Pavane sees and raises that with an orchestral version of Anyoma. It's up to the brothers Ark & Pit Spector to close out the EP by taking « Elis » into deeper territory. The tracks subtly follow each other up to tell a consecutive story. Thanks to the music ofBlutch, these 8 tracks stay connected on this diverse but coherent EP. Driven by our sense of partying and our willingness to meet the people we have been sharing our music with over more than a year, we decided to throw 4 release parties, hostingCuthead, Pit Spector, Tito Wun and Jenovah, who we hadn't met before. Sold out nights, balloons, jokes, fun and groove. Really proud of the project in general, the artists' work and our flawless casting. The project has forged bonds between artists that wanted to continue their collaborations, Blutch and Cuthead will now even be playing back2back at Festival Astropolis July 2nd .

Sound Destination is a project that crosses genre to find its own space. Soundscapes, downtempo, ambient, and house music all find a place in this aesthetically complete project.
There's a simmering, hovering quality about the whole album, as a pastoral ease settles over the listener. The record flows like a vague narrative, a non-specific sort-of journey album, a meditative jazz-house trip.
