House Vinyl New Releases - News

South Londoner Jessie Ware has already cemented herself as one of the freshest talents to emerge from the UK underground. The last couple of years have seen Jessie collaborating with some of the most respected producers on the electronic spectrum.

Schallbox inaugurates the Open-Air season and by doing so unmistakably calls out for a dance! The high spirits of the party held for its tenth release is still in everboby's mind - and the blaze is still burning! Yet team Schallbox around Steve Cole follows up by presenting Space Night astronaut, Saafi Brother and sound design artist Gabriel Le Mar with the spherically driving and playfully dreamy track "Deep Red Guitar". The unmistakable style of Gabriel enriches the spectrum of the Basel based recording label, yet fits perfectly its flow of exceptional club music for body and mind. The original version invites you to an expedition through an acoustic landscape composed of a smooth piano and a levitating guitar, through which a stream of ever changing and interacting rhythm and bass elemtents paves its way. Surprisingly the A-side is complemented by a remix by Julius Lagerfeld. After a long absence he ties in at the same spot he left five years ago with his remix of Chris Zippel on Elektrolux. Atmospherically true to the original, he subordinates everything to a swinging shuffle groove, that
gets intersected by an atmospherically appealing break - just to bring all drifted spirits back down to the dance floor after this. The second side is openend by beat pharmacist Brendon Moeller with a hypnotically pounding interpretation, whose continuing chordplay is being carried by a deep and warm bassline. The finale is being served by Smalltown Collective: a swim in a pool of artificial waves, in a body of flowing water with the irresistible pull of an embankment turbine. Percussive and tonal elements are being joined to form a whole, which invites to dance and at the same time to dive in and engross. As usual with Schallbox, there is a consolation for all those who have to do without the high grade black gold and will sidestep to the digital alternative - and the consolation this time turns out to be especially rewarding:

Jalapeno continue to supply the forward looking funk on the latest instalment of their successful Jalapeno Funk series including four exclusive album tracks.
Volume 4 opens with an exclusive from DJ Moneyshot titled "Mellowdip Park" before moving into some blistering funk breaks from Basement Freaks. Another album exclusive from Tom Drummond "Keep It Moving" then leads to one of the highlights of The Beekeepers album "Queen Bee" (feat UK MC legend Mystro on vocals).

Everybody better bring some towels, because Housemeister is about to soak the world in electro champagne. Presenting his third full length music, the dirty don of club music did it again. Touching ravers hearts and hitting ravers right on their heads at the same time. In arts, good ideas are hard to have, but easy to get - masterful musical output is pretty hard to create, but once it's done, it's about pure listening pleasure. And with a thousand shitty drugs flooding the streets of music today, it isn't everyday you get to consume the 100% stuff. 'Music Is Awesome' is that shit that's straight from the kitchen, and Housemeister has produced this bitch to the point like a 5 star chef. It seems playing clubs and crowds all over the world do add to a player's game. Add class and confidence. Add experience and excellence, add balls as well as balance, and maybe it just takes 15 years of hardcore DJdom to be able to come out and kill like this. MUSIC IS AWESOME! Could any phrase be more simple and true Could any DJ come up with a better beatdown of arty-farty music chit chat, nipping critics in the bud just like that! And how could someone who's played a million records maintain such compass and focus The answer isn't made of words, of course. The answer is alive whenever awesome music is playing and nobody listening gives two shits about anything else in the world. When the moment is made of music, that's when Housemeister is happy. That's what dance music is for. That's what makes you dance in the first place. And that's what Housemeister put on this record. The unique studio-zoo of tools and toys he's using, the refreshing hands-on, open-mind approach of production, the iconic brand he's built, the picture disc vinyl release of this Boysnoize Records highlight with 7 tracks on each side made now for collectors not for djs anymore, the fact he's shooting a video for every single song - all kick ass Housemeister´s quality specials. But they're chilling in the sh

HOUSEMEISTER is back with his big new single "Weird Friends"! With US-indie-rapper P.O.S spittin' the truth on the mic and HOUSI's signature heavy beats, this one is a no brainer.

Benny Benassi invent you in his new single "spaceship" to an intergalactical trip. Produced by Jean-Baptiste and in abnormal cooperation with Kelis and apl.de.ap - member of Black Eyed Peas. This track is the first coupling out of Benassis fifth studio album, which would released at the second half of the year. Till then enjoy the space trip!

Dublin based disco merchants Fatty Fatty Phonographics will soon be launching their Laser Guided Melodies side label with the first 12' by Berlin based trio kool thing.
Named after the Sonic Youth song, the band have been honing their sound on their current world tour with kindred spirits Austra - a dizzying blend of gnarled blues riffs and My Bloody Valentine-esque bliss married to the wild technoid pulse of their adopted city.
'Plan.Life.Go' is their signature tune, a hymn to the redemptive power of rock'n'roll and the first euphoric rush of new love, building up from a simple bluesy twang into a cinematic 21st Century sonic assault...
The package will also feature two remixes from two bright young Irish electronic things - a meditative, melancholic re-version by Toby Kaar and a warped, left of centre house take by REID.

Axwell's Axtone Records are launching the first in a series of compilations entitled 'Axtone Presents' and first up is Berin based Thomas Gold, who, as fully fledged member of the Axtone family, is the ideal candidate to kick things off.

Electronic duo Cage & Aviary are set to release their debut album .Migration. on Prins Thomas.s Internasjonal imprint this coming January. But before that 3 exclusive dub mixes of 3 selected tracks are going to be released for your listening pleasure: Migration . Dub Sampler (INTC&A1).

Our second release is the first solo EP from Mia Dora, 'Romanticise'. Released digitally and on limited vinyl, this 4 track EP brings to life the Mia Dora sound, so carefully cultivated and realised over the last 12 months. Drawing on a range of influences, they bring together the warm, subtle tones of garage, the deep impact of driving house, tinges of
acid synths and the awkward hip hop inflected rhythms they are starting to make their own. Each track leaves something to be discovered with each listen, refusing to stand still and switching up as they go. Romanticise shows off the intricate and subtle approach Mia Dora take to club music, all the while making sure we can't help but dance. Artwork comes courtesy of Grampian Mountains and Swedish artist Andy King.

Second release in 2012 is Pirupa's hard rocking debut on DESOLAT. His 'Party Non Stop' is not only a trip down memory lane crossing paths of hip house as vocal version and early ravish bleep sounds as instrumental. It's first and foremost a house sound of now - with attitude. DJ QU, the man behind Strength Music, rounds up the EP with a healthy dose of drama with his epic raw remix.

Hollands FAH aka Robin de Bekker enters the scene with this heavy, braindance inspired five tracker. Opener 'Fine Space' is spooky and upbeat with false melodies fighting the tracks ground level acid bubbles. 'Bonus Orbits' starts off as a fast electronic harpsichord cut for a smart dance floor before turning into a hectic swamp of challenging harmonies. 'Sixears' is a shorter track holding the middle ground between a moody Elecktroids tune and hectic, Vibert-like acid. The EPs title track and centerpiece then, is characterized by rewinds, whistles, haunting melodies and a total lack of repetition; its a 9 minute long excursion into the most unreal part of Bekkers mind. FAH finally says goodbye with an eerie cut that sounds like a humming predator with no food to eat. FAHs first one for 030303 comes with appropriate, occultist artwork.

Musical mysteries from Macedonia are what Herzel and Genoveva bring us on this special Other Heights-project. Unity and eclecticism are melted together in one empowering EP, which is sealed with a remix by Alveol. Deeeep house!

Let Yrself Be', the second single to be taken from Jimmy Edgar's critically acclaimed Majenta, tells the story of, in Resident
Advisor's words, a 'nomadic sex fiend' gone clubbing. Two of the album's more brazen house cuts are the focus, evincing an artist
as adept at catering for dance-floor and DJ as he is for the home-listener.
The title track is a beatific cruise through stabs, chords, claps and slaps to a place where '90s house meets garage vocals, shutters
are raised and everyone dances happily ever after. 'Heartkey', on the other hand, shows a starchild at his sultriest. Chugging along
with electro swagger and vocoder charm, his claims to be 'the only one with the key to your heart' are hard to disbelieve. Lock up
your android daughters.

Formed in Bordeaux, France, during the fall of 2001 by energetic frontwoman Caroline Martial and keyboardist Orion Bouvier, Kap Bambino didn't wait for the burgeoning indie dance scene to embrace the duo before they starting putting out their eight-bit noise dance records. Devotion, Kap Bambino's fourth album, was based on a few simple rules: each song was recorded as though played for the first time, and there was no second take; each live show is played as if it was the final one; each task is executed with a sense of urgency; each decision is made with excess; all the indicators are in the red. To understand the duo you need to let go of moderation. Try to capture them: it's too late, they're already far away. Like a permanent crash in the sound barrier. Eternal youth with almost ten years behind them. THE BAND'S NEW EP 'DEVOTION' WITH REMIXES FROM NUGNUG, MOBSCENE, TULIP, ROBERT GOERL (D.A.F) AND SECT(E)OFSOUND WILL COME OUT ON JULY!

LIL SILVA returns to Night Slugs to drop the second installment in our new Club Constructions series.
CC is all about stripped-back, raw and highly functional tracks made specifically for the club. Where L-Vis 1990's first venture into the series presented a brutalist vision of House, Silva's Volume 2 represents the vital flip side to the concept: broken, grimey rhythm tracks.

For the first time on SAIFAM / SELF , this Dance serie release the vol. 7 . Totally 16 unmixed & extended versions, including artists such as Rudy Mas, Niko Noise, 4ward, DJ Tuzzi, Electric Boy..... And many more !!!

The Cobra Dukes are a band to watch in 2008.
Following on from the driving, soundtrack-esque space-pop of 'Leave the Light On', Kyle Gibson & co return with a record aimed squarely at the dance-floor. 'Airtight' is the kind of track that's tailor-made made for the sets of Erol Alkan & Optimo. Tough punchy bass hooks, swirling special effects and some seriously club-shaking beats make the perfect backdrop to Gibson's paean to the dark-side of physical relationships... Think the Glitter Band on E and you're coming close.
Remixes comes from Optimo and blog favourites Aeroplane. JD Twitch is in typically floor-filling form, attacking the Cobra Dukes jerk-time synths with some clever twists and heavy bottom end while Belgium's cosmic superheros offer a delightfully blissed-out journey filled with dubby guitars and classic keys.

Rome's Egisto Sopor has been making little waves with his releases for quite a while now. As Polysick he's released a CDr album on Legowelt's Strange Life Records and a cassette on the much admired 100% Silk label. As TheAwayTeam he's released a DVD 'Relax & Sleep' and a CD 'Star Kinship' on Japanese label Maomoo, and is also one half of the low key video unit AAVV, whose work has graced many of the important releases of the new lo-fi electronic movement. 'Digital Native' is his first proper album, 15 tracks of glowing, nocturnal, analogue grace that hark back to acid house and early techno, but with a mood and intent that seem to be designed for watching images dance on closed eyelids. It's no surprise that his work as a video artist resonates so strongly with the music he makes. Polysick says of his approach, "When I make music I always have a visual part in mind. In this case, many of the tracks have been influenced by visions of tribal nocturnal mysterious explorations like in 'Preda' which is the Italian word for "quarry". I tried to convey a sense of mystery and danger with those swirling flutes and the timpani rolls too, like if you were in the middle of a jungle, in a deep dark night and you're running away through the trees, haunted, like in some of those old zombie splatter movies from the '80s.. same with 'Tic-Tac Toe', with that clock ticking and the deep bass..." Polysick has tapped straight into the synthetic pleasures of early dance music's otherworldly pulses, the hypnotic arpeggios of Italo disco, soaring Detroit chords, cosmic disco, the '4th World' music of Jon Hassell and the library exotics of Piero Umiliani. Imagine a nexus between early acid house and Italo music being used for mental therapy, exotic travelling and imagining, exciting the brain waves and journeying into imagined spaces; 'Digital Native' is set in such an imagined line of enquiry - this is body music for the resting body.
